23* The gang's break up in the 2002 film.
24** Shaggy and Scooby. Fred, Velma and Daphne argue and decide to quit the gang, and all Shaggy can do is to quietly protest, to no avail. And then Scooby asks "Do I quit?", with Shaggy responding "No Scoob, Friends don't quit."
25** The novelization makes it even sadder, as it's told from multiple characters' perspectives. The break-up is from Velma's and when Daphne says "no way" after she quits, Velma momentarily thinks Daphne doesn't want her to go. She's touched for about a second, and then Daphne just says she was going to quit and now everyone will think she's copying Velma.
26** Even worse, a commenter on [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxuteSlss3M this analysis video]] points out that Velma, Fred and Daphne didn't just walk away in random directions, they were each heading towards a parked car - just let that sink in for a minute; Mystery Inc.'s in-fighting had gotten so bad, they weren't even traveling in the Mystery Machine together, anymore!
