[[Music/CarrieUnderwood This country singer]] [[TearJerker has a lot of emotional songs]].

* "Don't Forget to Remember Me" is a guaranteed tear-jerker for anyone who is leaving their family to pursue their own lives.
* "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8khHqMntkbQ Just A Dream]]" is another one. It's from the point of view of a young woman whose fiance went off to war. She attends his funeral in her wedding dress, feeling detached and pleading that it's all just a dream, and never really happened.
* As is "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PDLUGTK4sU I Told You So]]" (itself a cover of the Music/RandyTravis song).
* "Jesus, Take The Wheel". It's about a woman who's driving home for Christmas, with her kid in the backseat. Then she loses control of the wheel. It's depressing to say the least.
** Though the song does have them both survive - the car just skids onto the shoulder and to a stop, and the woman vows to change her life (though it isn't really said exactly why she has regrets about it).
* "Mama's Song" is another one -- with the bittersweet, low-key instrumental backing as a key component.
* "Temporary Home".
* Hell, pretty much any song involving God or her mother is gonna be emotional.
* "Blown Away" is ''powerful''.
--> ''Daddy was a mean ol' mister,\
Mama was an angel in the ground.\
The weather man called for a twister;\
She prayed, "Blow it down."''
* "Little Toy Guns", about a little girl hiding in a closet as her parents fight each other, can be this to anyone who's grown up in a dysfunctional household. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxOYvI0pfLo The music video]] is even more poignant.
* "Church Bells" is a heart-breaking story, especially to anyone who has been in an abusive relationship. The song is about a sweet farm girl named Jenny who marries a rich oil magnate, but soon finds out he's an abusive alcoholic and she's forced to hide the bruises with makeup and sunglasses while just praying for things to get better. Eventually she snaps from the strain and slips a poison into his drink to escape his abuse.
