* The end of episode 3. Drago is upset at Dan for not listening to him during the battle, which put him in grave danger and made him lose two of his comrades to the Doom Dimension, saying that now he can never trust Dan again. Dan is greatly hurt by this, and also chastises Drago for the stunt he pulled in the battle, saying if it had failed, he would have been doomed too. With the two of them arguing right after they attempted to become partners, it all ends with Dan throwing Drago into the river, ending their friendship and intending to never see him again. Luckily, they make up the following episode, after they both realize they were being unfair to the other, with Dan fishing Drago out of the river.
* As pictured above, the death of Shiori Kazami (Shun's Mother). While we had been given the belief that Shun was the cool loner of the Battle Brawlers, this scene COMPLETELY shatters that idea, with Shun being completely emotionally broken by his mother's death. And as she was dying, [[TragicKeepsake she gave Skyress to Shun]], having originally planned to give her to him for his birthday, but due to her life ending too soon, she had to give her to him at this moment. And on top of that, despite knowing his mother would have cheered him on to do what he loved, the sheer grief Shun went through from her death caused him to quit playing Bakugan entirely until the other Battle Brawlers come to seek out his help.
** While the scene was {{Bowdlerized}} in the English dub to [[SparedByTheAdaptation keep Shiori alive]] (albeit in a coma), thus somewhat dulling the emotion of the scene, the situation is still rather harsh for Shun, as mere seconds after his mother slips into a coma, his grandfather, instead of sympathetically explaning the situation about Shiori and Skyress to him like he did originally, outright declares he'll be [[FantasyForbiddingFather forcing Shun to focus on his ninja training and keeping him away from playing Bakugan anymore]], RIGHT after Shiori told Shun to keep doing what makes him happy before slipping away.
*** Not to mention that Shiori is a single mother, very likely widowed herself, so when she died, Shun had only his grandfather as a living family member.
* Preyas [[spoiler: getting sent to the Doom Dimension in episode 17,]] and Marucho's reaction to it. What's worse is that [[spoiler: both Marucho and Preyas knew it might happen, but Preyas chose to go into battle anyway to make sure the deaths of Marucho's other Bakugan (Limulus and Juggernoid) wouldn't be in vain.]] Oh, and when [[spoiler: he comes back, he's gets corrupted by negative energy, and sends several of his former teammate's Bakugan to the very place he was brought back from]].
* From episode 27, Dan's reaction to [[spoiler: Masquerade having Hydranoid blast Drago even after he's been defeated. Even worse when Drago is sent to the Doom Dimension.]]
** What makes it worse is that [[spoiler: Dan follows Drago into the doom dimension]], while Julie, Shun, Marucho, and Runo watch.
* Drago's reaction to seeing [[spoiler:Dan]] in the Doom Dimension.
-->'''Drago''': What? No! It can't be!
* In episode 31, when Shun falls into hallucination of Oberus when and is challenged to fight with the young version of Shiori. It gets worse when Oberus burns Skyress and Shun starts feel saddened, admitting that he needs his friends to move on, and that each one of his friends are important as ever. By the time Shun realizes this, it is far too late. Skyress has perished and Shun mourns over her loss... Though the moment quickly changes to both [[SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments heartwarming]] and [[SugarWiki/CrowningMomentOfAwesome awesome]] as drops of Shun's tears fall on Skyress' Ability Card, resulting in Skyress evolving into "Storm Skyress''
* Even though he has no hard feelings on finding out [[spoiler:Alice is Masquerade]] like the group would, Shun's [[BrutalHonesty blunt statement of the revelation]] is enough to send [[spoiler:Alice]] [[BreakTheCutie into tears]].
-->'''Shun''': Well, you've proven one thing: Masquerade knew where to find us [[spoiler: because you were him]].
* The death of [[spoiler: Masquerade]] in episode 44 counts, simply for him being so calm and excepting of his fate.
* All the kids having to say goodbye to their Bakugan partners in the finale.
** Drago [[spoiler: becoming one with the New Vestroia's core]].
* Wavern's death. The fact that Drago has to kill his love is truly gutwrenching, and Joe takes it very hard.

* Episode 16, Drago getting himself captured by Spectra.
* Episode 17, poor Dan's shock when he sees Drago has been altered both in mind and body by Spectra, even obeying all of Spectra's orders.
* The entire scene of episode 18, wherein Spectra abuses Drago, and he starts crying tears due to his suffering.
* [[spoiler: Skyress leaving Shun, for the last time in episode 26. After Shun's been busting his butt to save her]].
* [[spoiler:The deaths of the Legendary Warriors in episode 27]].
* Volt learning what happened to [[FateWorseThanDeath Brontes]] during episode 31, poor boy is shocked.
* Episode 32, Volt's desperate attempts to get Brontes back. [[spoiler: He fails, worse still Brontes is abandoned by Gus shortly after the battle. Leaving him to cry out (having somehow gotten his soul back) for Volt to save him]].
* Episode 39, During Gus's battle with Zenoheld, the evil king manages to completely overpower him and goes so far as to attempt to outright murder Gus. What saves Gus from certain death? His own Bakugan jump in to shield him from the blast. Elico is the first one to go, with his last words being "You saved me once, so I'm merely returning the favor. It's the least I can do!" Then, after that, his trap Hexados jumps out and forces itself into battle to protect Vulcan at the cost of its own life. Gus is noticeably shaken by both of their death, showing that despite being a less than pleasant person, he did have a heart underneath. It reaches its peak when Assail Farbros attempts to crush Gus and Vulcan places himself underneath its foot to save Gus, to the point where his armor starts breaking apart. The episode ultimately ends with Gus and Vulcan being blown away by one of Farbros's blasts, presumably to their deaths. Averted, when we later find out that they survived the battle and were only captured, and they even escape to help stop Zenoheld once and for all.
* Episode 52, Mira's cry for her father is heart-wrenching as the Alternative explodes [[spoiler: with her and Keith's father inside.]]

[[folder:''Bakugan: Gundalian Invaders'']]
* [[spoiler: Sid's death]] in episode 23, even if he had been a bit of a jerk up to that point.
* The flashback of episode 26 wherein [[spoiler: Kazarina fought against the young captain of the royal guard Jin. Who was also none other than Fabia's fiancé, the battle resulting his death and Aranaut's capture. It is believed that Aranaut suffered amnesia after being tortured by Kazarina. However, Aranaut was actually lying on Fabia's behalf due to the sadness she felt when Jin died]]. And at the end of Ren's battle with Fabia, after he realized he was unable to avenge Sid's death, Ren breaks down into TearsOfRemorse and Fabia finally accepts his redemption. Allowing Ren to finally got his HeelFaceTurn from Gundalia side to the Nethians.
* From episode 28, Jake's torture while being experimented on by Kazarina.
* Episode 29, Dan's feeling like a failure as a mentor for allowing Jake to be captured by the Gundalians.
* Near the end of 32, Nurzak does manage to save Fabia. However, he and Sabator get carried away by the rushing water. Nurzak then has a vision of his daughter as he apparently drowns.

[[folder:''Bakugan: Mechtanium Surge'']]
* The deaths of [[spoiler: Anubias and Sellon]] in episodes 21 and 22 are surprisingly tear inducing. Despite the fact that the pair showed almost zero redeeming qualities. While [[spoiler:Anubias]] was by far the more sympathetic of the pair, watching [[spoiler:Sellon]] plead to live ''just'' long enough to see the ''perfect world'' her master planned to create was a very KickTheDog moment for Mag Mel.
** Noah's devastation upon learning Anubias was using him and his teammates.
--> '''Noah''': I can't believe I used to look up to you! What a fool I was! I hope that Dan totally crushes you.
* From episode 44, after not seeing many of these Bakugan for years, it was great to see Preyas, Elfin, Tigrerra and the like again. What was ''not'' so great was [[spoiler: watching them all [[BackForTheDead being slaughtered]] while trying to defend New Vestroia]]. It was all pretty horrible, but [[spoiler:the deaths of Elfin, Amazon, Preyas and Tigrerra were probably the biggest tearjerkers.]]
