* ''WesternAnimation/AlvinAndTheChipmunks'': ''Alvin'' in spades. Yes, the Chipmunks are successful, but Alvin takes it to a wild level.
** The trio are on a game show, packed with wild stunts but about to win the grand prize. [[ItMakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext Hanging over a huge pie]], all Alvin has to do to win the big bonus is answer one simple question...
--->'''Host''': Who is the greatest musical band of all time?\
'''Alvin''': Why, that's easy!\
'''Simon and Theodore''': No, Alvin, don't say it!\
'''Alvin''': Alvin and the Chipmunks! ''(is sent into the pie as the answer the host wanted was The Beatles).''
* ''WesternAnimation/AmericanDragonJakeLong'':
** [[JerkJock Brad]] who's practically a Creator/{{Disney}} equivalent of [[WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom Dash]].
** The title character fell into this a lot, especially early on. Jake was quick to praise himself - only to fall flat on his face when things got tough. When [[LetsGetDangerous he shed the ego]], he'd be a force to be reckoned with.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Amphibia}}'': Robert Otto is the self-appointed neighborhood safety supervisor, with no apparent actual authority to back him, and he's completely convinced he performs a vital service that people should appreciate. In reality, he's just a busybody that harasses everyone for innocently breaching obscure regulations.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Animaniacs}}'': In the episode "Broadcast Nuisance", the Warner siblings provide (admittedly poor) service to Dan Anchorman, host of a news show, who has been shown to be arrogant, rude, demanding, and egotistical. Being rude to the Warner siblings is very bad for your mental health. (The Warner siblings have been shown capable of being polite and apologizing -when treated accordingly.)
** Minor recurring character Charlton Woodchuck was this in both his major appearances, first convinced he was one of Hollywood's new rising stars despite never having had a single job, and the second time around believing himself to be a genius, visionary director. In both cases he fully expected everyone around him to treat him as thus and threw major hissy-fits when not accommodated. Unfortunately for him, Hollywood and Slappy Squirrel did not share his assessment of his own talents.
* ''WesternAnimation/AquaTeenHungerForce'': Master Shake constantly refers to himself in ways that assume whoever he's talking to has heard of him and always believes everything should involve him in some way. He's also a KnowNothingKnowItAll who's clearly making it up as he goes along, and more clearly thinks he's getting away with it.
* ''WesternAnimation/AtomicPuppet'': Mookie, big time. He was nothing more than a BumblingSidekick and TheLoad to Captain Atomic, and the people of Mega City clearly don't take him seriously, but he believes that he should be venerated by them as the city's greatest superhero, hence his constant attempts to steal the spotlight from Atomic Puppet.
* ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries'':
** In the episode [[Recap/BatmanTheAnimatedSeriesE25TheClockKing "The Clock King"]], Temple Fugate sincerely thinks that the guy who shares his seat at the subway after one year had to know his name, or that Counselor Hill knows his impending legal case simply because his law firm is handling it, or that he gave the AdviceBackfire on purpose.
** This is also the best way to sum up Riddler's worldview in most ''Batman'' related media and the animated series is no exception. He claims to be a genius and even smarter than the "World's Greatest Detective" and will go to great lengths to prove it.
** ''WesternAnimation/BatmanBeyondReturnOfTheJoker'': ComicBook/TheJoker genuinely thinks he's the greatest comedian (aka supervillain) ever and always wanted to make Batsy laugh. Realizing [[AttentionWhore vanity]] is Joker's weakness, Terry [=McGinnis=] flips it upside down by stating that he's nothing but a idiot whose jokes are [[BoringInsult bland]] once the props are removed, dissing his MO for villainy, and mocking his failed attempts to make Batman laugh. After all, a comedian's worst nightmare is TheHeckler. Joker doesn't take this insult [[VillainousBreakdown lightly]].
* ''WesternAnimation/CaptainNTheGameMaster'': Simon Belmont from ''Franchise/{{Castlevania}}'' was depicted as a vain and arrogant "Ted Baxter"-like vampire hunter and rival to the main hero, Captain N. Hilariously, he even had the look down, [[YouDontLookLikeYou looking NOTHING AT ALL like the two canon versions of Simon.]] He dresses and prepares more like a jet-setting hiker than a vampire hunter.
* In ''WesternAnimation/Castlevania2017'' Varney believes himself to be among Dracula's most trusted servants, an ancient and powerful vampire whose name should be respected and feared, and gets mad when people generally have no idea who he even is and point out he was left behind to guard an already-conquered backwater. [[spoiler: Subverted when he turns out to be [[TheGrimReaper Death]], who everyone's heard of]], leaving it unclear if this irritation was ObfuscatingStupidity or if it genuinely annoys him to not be respected [[spoiler: in his vampire facade too]].
* Buck "Ace" Cluck from ''WesternAnimation/ChickenLittle'' is full of himself as he primarily cares about himself and how others view him.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Chowder}}'': Mung Daal often thinks that he's the greatest chef around. While his greatness is debatable, he does at least outstrip his rival Endive in actual commitment (Endive values dignity above all else, which leads to methods that seriously abrade Mung "It's not even edible if there's no love" Daal).
* ''WesternAnimation/CodenameKidsNextDoor'':
** Numbuh 2. Downplayed in that he is very competent, most of the time, but tends to overestimate even that. More than anything though, he thinks he's funnier than he actually is.
** Numbuh 4 in a MirrorUniverse episode, when it's revealed that the BigBad is [[EvilTwin alternate version of himself.]]. Numbuh 4 realizes that if his counterpart is a hypercompetent villain, then he must also be a DirtyCoward.
* ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'': The appropriately-named Dash Baxter is a slight variation in that only the audience and the main characters see through his self-image, the rest of the characters viewing him exactly as he views himself.
* ''WesternAnimation/DarkwingDuck'' brings another main (and title) character example. He does have [[LetsGetDangerous genuine competence lurking beneath the surface]], though. Though that didn't stop Frank Angones, showrunner for [[WesternAnimation/Ducktales2017 the Ducktales reboot]], from declaring Darkwing's ego his greatest villain.
* WesternAnimation/{{Duckman}} is another main character who embodies this. Duckman's awareness of how pathetic he is [[DependingOnTheWriter varies from episode to episode]] (and sometimes from scene to scene). When he's not being this trope he's usually being a JadedWashout (with little middle ground in between).
* ''WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy'': Eddy.
-->'''Eddy:''' I was born to fleece, Double D. Do you know who I think I am?\
'''Edd:''' Unfortunately, yes.
** In TheMovie, it's revealed that [[spoiler:his behavior is all a act due to him believing that if he acted more like his brother (who is an even bigger {{Jerkass}}), he'd be more popular.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/TheEmojiMovie''
** Smiler is so full of herself that she only cares about her business more than the others around her.
** Hi-5, he was the original favorite who Alex no longer uses. Not to mention he's really egotistical.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheEmperorsNewGroove'': Kuzco was this at the beginning, having absolutely no doubt that everyone admires him. That turned out not so right.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddparents'': Timmy became one after one too many cases of AcquiredSituationalNarcissism. Tad and Chad tend to play it straight.
* ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy''
** Brian Griffin spent years working on a novel entitled ''Faster Than The Speed of Love'' which turned out to be a complete rip-off of the ''Film/IronEagle'' film series, even though Brian claimed he never saw any of them. Everyone who had heard of the book's plot mercilessly taunted Brian about it being a rip-off but he refused to acknowledge it. When the book did get published yet did not sell a single copy after being critically lambasted, the next day Brian read a rave review for a celebrity self-help book and thought self-help books were the reason the novel sold so terribly. He then decided to write a similar book out of spite; the book became popular and Brian slowly began raving "I have created a best-selling PHENOMENON" until he was taken down on ''Series/RealTimeWithBillMaher''. Brian is also egotistical when it comes to women. Brian always tries to act intelligent and suave to impress women so that he can easily have sex with them, but whenever they break up, Brian tends to blame the women he dates as the reason they broke up instead of admitting that his negative behavior was his own fault. One episode has Brian being confronted by every single woman he ever dated and they all point out how flawed he is, only for Brian to retort with flaws he sees in every woman he dated, saying [[NeverMyFault it's their fault their relationships with him went sour]].
*** Ironically, one episode showed Brian actually does have the ability to be a good writer when he rediscovers an old screenplay he wrote about a single dad who goes back to college to provide for his baby daughter. While initially nagging Lois into reading the script, once Lois actually does she's blown away by how good it is (and spent an entire day trying to determine if Brian plagiarized anything in the script, but found nothing). Unfortunately, when Brian tries to have the screenplay turned into a movie, a bunch of TV executives and James Woods destroy it by turning it into a horrible sitcom about a guy getting into wacky hijinks with his hot co-ed daughter in college (titled "Classholes"). The pilot episode's so bad Joe flies into a rage and tries to beat up Brian.
** Quahog Channel 5 news anchor Tom Tucker has earned multiple comparisons to Ron Burgundy (and not only due to his mustache).
--->"Do you know who I am? I'm Tom Tucker, dammit! I make more in an hour than you make in two hours!"
* ''WesternAnimation/FostersHomeForImaginaryFriends'': Bloo as well as Duchess and Jackie Khones, but '''especially''' [[AttentionWhore Bloo]].
* Reggie from ''WesternAnimation/FreeBirds'' is a [[TheEeyore depressing]], moody, [[TheNapoleon napoleonic]] [[TheSociopath sociopathic]] turkey who wishes that he was treated way better than he was in the entire film.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}'':
** Zapp Brannigan combined with a parody of TheAce. He is also a MilesGloriosus. Given his position in the global military, his case is more like Big Name, Bigger Ego.
** Bender has a Big Ego constantly at odds with his Small Name, as most vividly seen in "A Pharaoh to Remember". Pointing the latter out is one of his biggest {{Berserk Button}}s.
** Bender's soap opera idol Calculon is completely unaware of how terrible of an actor he really is. Not that it stops him from getting constant praise from his fans, making his ego even worse.
%%* ''WesternAnimation/TheGoodeFamily'': Dean.
* ''WesternAnimation/GravityFalls'': Grunkle Stan. Please, ladies, control yourselves.
* Captain Smek from ''WesternAnimation/Home2015'' thinks himself to be a competent leader but is in fact too stupid to realize he isn't as competent as he likes to imagine himself.
* ''WesternAnimation/HouseOfMouse''
** Miss Turtle from the episode "Mickey vs. Shelby" thinks she's the best parent in the world, but she gets sucked into her own ego to realize that [[AbusiveParent she treats Shelby poorly]]. So she blames the person watching him.
** Goofy became this when he got replaced by Von Drake's automatic waitering system, thinking he can do more than be a waiter without any skills.
** The aforementioned Gaston is considered ''by other characters'' to be a case of this; anyone he interacts with is [[DeadpanSnarker too sassy]] to care about his boasts. Case in point:
--->'''Gaston''': No one makes faces in spoons like Gaston!\
'''[[Franchise/TheLionKing Timon]]''': No one asked the ''opinion'' of Gaston.
** Mortimer Mouse is another overinflated ego--a constantly plotting, cocky mouse who thinks he's going to impress people but really doesn't. Minnie had to change his act in "Ladies' Night" to make fun of him, just so the ladies wouldn't all leave (or worse, considering that [[WesternAnimation/AliceInWonderland the Queen of Hearts]] was in attendance).
%%* [[ManChild Dr. Glickenstein]] from ''WesternAnimation/{{Igor}}’'.
* ''WesternAnimation/InspectorGadget'', far more so than in the film version. This actually is a major element which [[StatusQuoIsGod preserves the status quo]]. Most notably, he is convinced that Dr. Claw is so terrified of him that MAD packs up and leaves as soon as Gadget is assigned to a case. This may be the main reason he canonically can't catch Dr. Claw, despite the number of times they've been physically close: Gadget ''cannot believe'' Dr. Claw would dare go near him, and thus cannot recognize him. To some extent, this is also why Inspector Gadget tends to not notice MAD agents trying to kill him or recognize the MAD logo.
* ''WesternAnimation/InvaderZim'':
** The eponymous character is despised by his ''species'' due to the combination of this trope and TooDumbToLive. This is the Irken that singlehandedly shot down the first Operation Impending Doom out of sheer stupidity, and thought that the Tallest would want him assigned to Operation Impending Doom II. The Tallest sent him to Earth [[ReassignedToAntarctica simply to get him out of their way]] (they didn't even know there was a planet there), but he has no idea that it isn't a real assignment.
** All Irkens are this trope to some extent, as the Tallest demonstrate. Zim is just notable because he's an incompetent egotist ''even by their standards''; he's basically the worst thing to happen to the Irken Empire, but he thinks he's a war hero.
* ''WesternAnimation/JimmyTwoShoes'': Lucius Heinous VII. Sure, he's supposed to be {{Satan}}, but he's really not as good at keeping Miseryville, well, miserable as he likes to think he does. The fact that he can't even get one happy-go-lucky kid out of his horns really speaks to that.
* This is pretty much WesternAnimation/JohnnyBravo's defining character. He often admires himself a lot and constantly remarks about how "pretty" he is, as well as his failed attempts at wooing any of the chicks he hits on, who often rebuff his prospects by physically beating on him.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Kaeloo}}'':
** Mr. Cat considers himself to be better than everyone else on the show because he's TheSmartGuy and [[SurroundedByIdiots everyone else is a complete moron]].
** [[AlphaBitch Pretty]] thinks she is entitled to have everything she wants, at the expense of other people, because she is beautiful, and she spends most of her time mocking other people for being poor and/or ugly.
** Olaf has deluded himself into thinking that he is the ruler of the world and demands that people literally drop to their knees and prostrate themselves before him when he walks by.
* ''WesternAnimation/KingOfTheHill'': Peggy Hill. She's a loving mother and wife, but she thinks she's much smarter and more attractive than she is.
%%* ''WesternAnimation/LiloAndStitchTheSeries'': Dr. Jacques von Hämsterviel.
* ''WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes'': WesternAnimation/DaffyDuck starting in the early 1950s.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheMarvelousMisadventuresOfFlapjack'': Captain K'nuckles would be a good example of this combined with TheWoobie.
%%* ''WesternAnimation/TheMightyB'': Bessie Higgenbottom.
%%* ''WesternAnimation/MyGymPartnersAMonkey'': Principal Pixiefrog.
* ''WesternAnimation/MyLifeMe'': [[OccidentalOtaku Birch Small]] especially when it comes to her artworks. She shows off her own "manga art" to her manga idol Miyazaki [[AsLongAsItSoundsForeign Lee]], which the idol claimed to like only to insult a different "local" comic also made by Birch, which prompts her to bitch him out and start insulting some of the very work of his she was praising earlier.
* ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'':
** [[ThirdPersonPerson The Great and Powerful Trixie]], who boasts of being capable of doing everything better than everyone. She's an odd case in that she clearly ''does'' have a lot of fans (or can at least draw a crowd), but she ''still'' manages to be this trope because her ego is just that big.
** [[FeatheredFiend Gilda, a bullying griffin]] who claims to be totally awesome and superior to the "lame-o" ponies.
** Done as part of Rainbow Dash's character development. In season 1 she was this trope to its fullest, but as the show's gone on she's not only [[TookALevelInKindness Taken A Level In Kindness]] and [[BreakTheHaughty humility]] but also done quite a few acts of heroism to make a name for herself. As of Season 7, The Wonderbolts claimed to have been eagerly waiting for her to join for quite a while, and Dash (for the most part) is more humble: you could call her a Big Name Moderately-High Ego now.
* King from ''WesternAnimation/TheOwlHouse'' has major delusions of grandeur, constantly talking about how he's the king of demons and seeking to reclaim his lost power (According to him, King is both his name and title). In his current form, however, he's smaller than a human child and prone to throw child-like temper tantrums. Most people indulge him since he's too adorable to resist, but Lilith calls his claim into question since demons have never had a unified authority. [[spoiler:Early on in Season 2, it's revealed that reveal that he is entirely delusional, and was never a king. Eda found him as an infant and took him in, calling him King after his first words. When he started developing delusions of grandeur, she indulged him because she didn't have the heart to shoot him down. However, his birthplace is notably grand, a bas-relief of his father depicts him in a position of authority, and there's an entire army of dead golems dedicated to guarding him, so there may be something about his claims. And then it turns out at the end of the season that he's actually a titan (and not just any titan, but the son of [[GiantCorpseWorld the Boiling Isles itself]]).]]
* ''WesternAnimation/ThePenguinsOfMadagascar'':
** Cecil, a burglar who believes himself to be a criminal genius, to the point '''that he leaves handwritten signed notes declaring himself to be a criminal mastermind at the scenes of his crime'''.
** King Julien is also a rather extreme example.
* One episode of ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb'' introduced a pair of InsufferableGenius counterparts to the brothers, Thaddeus and Thor, who challenge them to a building contest. They're good, but they act like the Flynn-Fletcher brothers can't hold a candle to them. The second [=P&F=] reveal their physics-defying fort, [=T&T=] pretty much mentally snap. The main problem seems to be that they can only achieve ''possible'' things, while P&F have no such constraints. To really hammer the point home, neither Phineas nor Ferb retaliate to their snobby behavior with anything other than PolitenessJudo or care all that much about winning the competition.
* [[MadScientist Romeo]] [[ChildProdigy Mecano]] from ''WesternAnimation/PJMasks'' tailors himself as the greatest scientific mind in the world due to his genius that he should be recognized immediately by everyone if they see his face. Ironically, nobody in town knows who Romeo even is due to the fact that he only operates at night and the only people that he encounters aside from the PJ Masks are other "Night Time Villains" that inhabit the town and also commit their own evil deeds at night. [[LampshadeHanging Lampshaded]] in one episode where his evil scheme involved changing the written text in every book to have pictures of himself on every page, only for everyone else in the town ''but'' the PJ Masks to openly question who exactly he even is.[[note]][[TooCleverByHalf Not helping matters is that he didn't bother to caption his pictures with his name]] because he's [[NeverLearnedToRead illiterate.]][[/note]]
* ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls'': Mojo Jojo and Princess Morbucks. Blossom has also been accused of this.
* ''WesternAnimation/QuackPack'': Kent Powers was presumably based on the original Ted Baxter.
* ''WesternAnimation/RainbowBrite'': Starlite the talking steed, who likes to introduce himself as "Starlite, the most magnificent horse in the world".
* ''WesternAnimation/RegularShow'': Park Avenue, graffiti artist from "Under The Hood".
-->'''Park Avenue:''' Yeah, that's right, I'm the one who did it! ''I'm'' the graffiti artist! I'm hitting the world with knowledge! I'm painting the truth! I'm painting rebellion! I—\
'''Benson''': ''I'' am calling the cops.
%%* ''WesternAnimation/RickySprocketShowbizBoy'': Kitten Kabootle and Mr. Fischburger.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Rubbadubbers}}'': Finbar the mighty shark who considers himself to be the most fearsome shark in the sea. Ar ar ar
* ''WesternAnimation/RocketPower'': Otto Rocket. While he's a highly competent athlete with enough skill of a pro skater, he does tend to overestimate himself very often. The episode "Super Mcvarial 900" is a great example of that.
* ''WesternAnimation/SamuraiJack'': we're introduced to [[BlaxploitationParody Da Sam'rai]] in one episode: a flamboyant, rude, and aggressive poser who, to his credit, ''does'' manage to take down some MechaMooks with ConfusionFu and dirty fighting before calling out Jack. Jack demands they fight with bamboo and utterly schools him, so Da Sam'rai draws his sword and gets utterly schooled by Jack's bamboo ''again''. To the man's credit, though, he ''does'' man up enough to shove Jack out of harm's way when Aku's minions show up and gets acknowledged as having potential to be a real samurai for it:
--> '''Jack:''' You have taken your first step to the true path of the samurai.
** Season 5 shows that he ultimately gave up on his samurai career and now runs the BadGuyBar where he and Jack crossed paths. He still loves to brag about the experience and thinks the soul-changing encounter is more impressive than the various injuries and mutilations passing bounty hunters had received from Jack.
** The High Priestess of [[ReligionOfEvil the Cult of Aku]] truly believes that she's a trusted and valued ally of Aku. In reality, Aku only visited her cult once and has largely forgotten about her in the intervening years.
%%* Oscar the IdiotHero from ''WesternAnimation/SharkTale’'.
%%* ''WesternAnimation/{{Sidekick}}'': Professor Pamplemoose.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'': Kent Brockman is an intentional copy of Ted Baxter. In the episode where Marge stars in ''"Theatre/AStreetCarNamedDesire"'' musical, the director, while competent, sees himself as this supreme director even though the only play he ever mentions directing was a school play. He prides himself on it though, by carrying the review around and quoting it.
-->"Play enjoyed by ''all''!"
** Mr. Burns regards himself as handsome despite being ridiculously old and frail and as a superior intellect SurroundedByIdiots despite being just as prone to blundering as any of the (admittedly) [[IncompetenceInc incompetent people on his payroll]]. It probably doesn't help that his loyal underling Smithers [[IgnoredEnamoredUnderling has exactly as high an opinion of Burns as Burns has of Burns]].
* ''WesternAnimation/TheSmurfs1981'': Brainy Smurf will brag and moralize to his fellow Smurfs in invariably any situation, only for his advice to be dubious at best and completely wrong at worst. (In the animated series, when one of the Smurfs tires of him, he will be thrown out of the village ...) He believes his quotations (compiled in volumes usually titled "Quotations From Brainy Smurf") will get other Smurfs to see him as a great orator and with insightful wisdom, although the quotes are little more than nonsensical ramblings, or copied wisdom from one of his fellow Smurfs. He thinks of himself as a ''de facto'' second-in-command whenever Papa Smurf is gone or needs someone to reinforce his authority, but this authority is often better handled by other Smurfs.
* ''WesternAnimation/SonicTheHedgehogSatAM'': Antoine sees himself as a heroic, intelligent "and so very handsome" Freedom Fighter who can take Swatbots in their thousands. In reality, he is a sniveling DirtyCoward that often acts as TheLoad. Sonic and Sally, though much more genuinely competent, frequently have IdiotBall moments due to their conflicting egos.
* ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'': Cartman though he displays a number of tropes at a number of different times. There are also several occasions where Cartman was incognito and openly tried to make his image look better if someone didn't say anything cool about him, even if he had to blow his own cover to do so.
* ''WesternAnimation/SpongebobSquarepants'':
** Squidward aspires to be an artist, and thinks living next door to idiots like [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick while working as a cashier at [[BurgerFool the Krusty Krab]] is beneath him. He's not a very good musician, and all his paintings and sculptures seem to be of himself.
** Sandy plays with this. She is actually the most intelligent and talented member of Bikini Bottom by far. However, this does lead her to overestimate her skills at times and sometimes gets rather overcompetitive and arrogant when someone implies she isn't the best at something.
** Plankton sees himself as an EvilGenius and criminal mastermind. Unfortunately for him, his often poorly thought out schemes and attempts to steal the Krabby Patty formula end in nothing but failure and pain for him.
* ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'': Peridot. She has referred to herself as "The Great and Lovable Peridot", takes any chance she can get to show off how smart she is, will use her newfound [[ExtraOreDinary metal powers]] any chance she gets just to show how great she is, and at one point even referred to herself as ''the new leader of the Crystal Gems''.
** Amongst the human characters (excluding Connie who trains and interacts with the Gems), Ronaldo believes himself to be the center of some grand conspiracy. He genuinely thinks he is the closest person to the center of unearthing a coverup by sinister forces, and also believes himself to be capable of psychic powers and incredible feats of strength without having any reason to expect he can (or doing any training). The episode ''Rocknaldo'' highlights this where Ronaldo shows genuine interest in joining the Gems and saving the world... until he finds out he isn't allowed to come on missions until trained. For the remainder of the episode, until the final few moments, he spends the time criticizing Steven's day-to-day behavior and claiming to know how to be a Crystal Gem better than he does.
--->'''Steven''': Who are you to tell anyone how to be a Crystal Gem?! You're just... you're just... a guy with a blog!
* ''WesternAnimation/StormHawks'': Finn, whilst a talented sniper, is nowhere near the ladies' man he thinks he is.
* ''WesternAnimation/SushiPack'': Tako considers himself to be a great artist worthy of the world's admiration, but his abstract paintings are less than admired by anyone, even his own teammates. One episode, in fact, had him chasing down the bad guy not because he stole all the art in the museum, but because he stole all the art in the museum except for Tako's paintings.!
%%* ''WesternAnimation/TakAndThePowerOfJuju'': Lok.
* ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans'': Control Freak is actually fairly competent as villains go, but the Titans still don’t take him seriously due to his goofy personality. He wasn't even mentioned on the list of "villains to watch out for" the Titans East got when they were housesitting the tower!
* ''WesternAnimation/TinyToonAdventures'': Plucky Duck, a character based on Daffy.
* ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama'':
** Cody is this on his flirting abilities, as well as Owen on his [[AnimalsHateHim wilderness skills]], and Courtney as part of her second-season persona.
** Chris and Justin on their own attractiveness. Though with Justin [[EvenTheGuysWantHim it seems to be justified]].
** Ezekiel in ''World Tour'' is also one of these, thinking he's going all the way even when Gwen reminds him that he was voted out first last time.
** Tyler, who thinks he is the greatest athlete around, but constantly proves to be possibly the worst.
** Blaineley has a very high opinion about her TV host abilities that seems unwarranted considering the TDWT Aftermath's reveal she was fired from her old show. She also claims to be extremely famous in her musical number "Blaineriffic", but none of the characters recognize her at all, suggesting she's totally washed-up.
** Scott in ''Revenge of the Island'' is a SmugSnake who thinks he's a MagnificentBastard. Lampshaded late in the season when he thinks a trap he put up worked (it was actually [[HiddenDepths Zoey's]]) and he exclaims, "Hey! One of my traps actually worked!"
** The sixth season brings us three more: Max thinks he's [[EvilerThanThou the most evil contestant]] in the show's history, but he's actually a HarmlessVillain. Secondly is [[JerkAss Amy]], who shows no skill in anything but [[ManipulativeBastard manipulation]], but calls herself "perfection". Finally we have [[AscendedFan Topher]], the celebrity wannabe whose [[JustHereforGodzilla only goal for going on the show]] is to learn from/take over the role of the host.
* ''WesternAnimation/TransformersAnimated'':
** Henry Masterson, aka the Headmaster, is thoroughly convinced he's a big-time criminal and a bigger-time scientist when he's mostly just a GeniusDitz who is respected by nobody.
** During the season two finale, Starscream builds a small army of clones of himself, each of whom represents an aspect of his personality and almost all of whom are [[MythologyGag references to the G1 Seekers]]. The Thundercracker homage, "Egomaniac Starscream", represents... well, it's in his name. Starscream has a pretty high opinion of himself, but at least he can back it up (to everyone except [[BigBad Megatron]]).
* ''WesternAnimation/TheVentureBrothers'':
** Dr. Venture. He is a slothful and incompetent "scientist" who has ridden his father's coattails his entire life. He often believes he is the life of the party and highly desirable even when no woman wants to have anything to do with him. Of course, this does vary from episode to episode; at times he's ''deeply'' aware of his own inadequacies.
** Dermott Fictel, Hank Venture's teen-aged friend, seems incapable of opening his mouth without uttering a conveniently unconfirmable boast. He teaches ninjutsu (actually wears padding and takes hits in a self-defense class), can hotwire a car (except Hank had the keys), can fly a plane (except the Venture jet is the wrong class for his license), and is also known as "The Wolf" and/or "Psycho" (to the guys in his old neighborhood who supposedly fought a gang war over the choice). He is also a KnowNothingKnowItAll, claiming that the Retsyn from Certs mints can be used to make napalm, and a BoisterousWeakling, since the only time we see him actually fight he loses to the show's most notorious wimp.
