[[folder:Bleach]]
* At the beginning, ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'' had very little ship tease in the manga, except for comedy moments and SliceOfLife omakes. WordOfGod has stated that the manga isn't a romance manga and confirmed that Rukia and Ichigo [[PlatonicLifePartners are very close but have never been romantically interested in one another]]. That said, there is a lot of ShipTease in the anime, with anime endings sometimes hinting at Ichigo/Rukia (2, 16, 19), or Ichigo/Orihime (15, 18); the anime tends to focus on the former while the manga is biased to the latter.
** A recurring joke in the Substitute Soul Reaper arc was for people to assume that Rukia was Ichigo's girlfriend, due to their many hushed, private conversations (about Hollows). Many of the color pages notably pair the two up as well. These often get used in the openings and endings for the anime, sometimes with other characters edited out to really emphasize their closeness.
*** The movie, ''Bleach: Fade to Black'', is chock-full of [=IchiRuki=] content, with the voice actors for the characters encouraging fans to take their partners to see it. Though the film's canon status is dubious, Kubo was heavily involved in it, even giving it the subtitle ''I Call Your Name'' as a reference to Ichigo dramatically calling out Rukia's name.
*** A small subplot in the manga where Keigo jokingly creates the rumor mill about Ichigo and Rukia being in a relationship is expanded in the anime into an arc that continues long after the manga had ended it.
** Episode 342, in particular, is one long Ichigo/Rukia tease that never existed in the manga. This episode includes a trip to an [[FailuresOnIce ice rink]] where Ichigo helps Rukia learn to ice skate. The sequence plays like it's straight out of a romance manga, adding another layer of tragedy to Rukia disappearing in the episode's final scene--which then cuts to a modified version of the "Haruka Kanata" ending, that removes appearances from other characters to emphasize the relationship between Ichigo and Rukia.
* The animators are huge fans of Ikkaku/Yumichika so they will insert ShipTease into filler episodes and rewrite manga scenes to insert ShipTease. The anime features Yumichika stewing angrily in the background whenever Mizuho makes a pass at Ikkaku. The anime also changed Yumichika's response to Ikkaku begging for death, having him panic on the sidelines and spend the entire episode behaving as Ikkaku's "wife".
* The animators are very fond of Hitsugaya/Karin and created two episodes about it. Multiple characters think there's something going on between them, resulting in SheIsNotMyGirlfriend moments and Rangiku thinks Hitsugaya is a StalkerWithACrush because she catches him watching Karin from a rooftop. Even Ichigo notices it. In the manga, Hitsugaya and Karin have never actually met. [[spoiler:Since Hitsugaya was promoted to tenth division captain because Karin's father went AWOL from the position, the plot ramifications would be huge]].
* The animators are also very fond of Hisagi/Rangiku. Whenever they animate omakes or create filler episodes, they'll play up Hisagi/Rangiku ShipTease wherever possible even though there's nowhere near as much of it in the manga.
!!Manga & Slice of Life
* SliceOfLife omakes indicate both Hisagi and Iba have crushes on Rangiku. (Granted, WordOfGod is that ''most'' male Soul Reapers have a crush on [[ProudBeauty Rangiku]].) They also indicate that Hisagi, Kira and Renji have crushes on Omaeda's surprisingly beautiful youngest sister Mareyo.
* There are strong hints that there are less than professional feelings between Kyouraku and Nanao. In the manga, he keeps her off the front lines [[spoiler:and successfully fights the Central 46 for permission to take her with him as his "personal assistant" when he becomes first division captain-commander]]. In supplementary manuals and slice of life omakes, hints are further played up. The manga also hints that Kyouraku and Lisa may once have had a less than professional relationship and it's Lisa's fate that has made him so over-protective of Nanao. [[spoiler:It turns out she's his niece, the daughter of Shunsui's long-deceased older brother and an also dead local priestess]].
* The ''Unmasked'' [[AllThereInTheManual databook]] includes a short story covering Ulquiorra's past that ends with two pages focused on him waking up from sleep with Orihime [[BeautifulDreamer watching him]]. Orihime then calls him "Ulquiorra-kun" despite him telling her not to call him that.
* In "[[WholeEpisodeFlashback Everything but the Rain]]", the expected ShipTease between Isshin [[spoiler:Shiba]] and Masaki Kurosaki was surprisingly complicated by the [[spoiler:ArrangedMarriage]] situation between Masaki and Ryuuken Ishida. As Ichigo's MissingMom, Masaki's romantic fate was a ForegoneConclusion. Most surprising of all, however, was the secondary ShipTease between Ryuuken and his NinjaMaid Kanae Katagiri which caused the fandom to immediately speculate that Kanae might be Uryuu's MissingMom. [[spoiler:The manga confirms [[PosthumousCharacter she was]]]].
* Kubo once wrote a small scene for the Bleach Musical between Kenpachi and Unohana that was loaded with BelligerentSexualTension. This tension enters the manga during the final arc. [[spoiler:She's the only woman Kenpachi ever respected, the woman he named Yachiru after. Unohana refers to him as the only man who ever brought her true joy and, when he defeats her, he screams and begs her [[CradlingYourKill not to die]]]].
* The Ichigo/Orihime ShipTease was more or less there in the background, but it increased ever since the Arrancar Arc, culminating in the Lust Arc chapters (especially chapter 350), where Ulquiorra pretty much kills Ichigo and causes Orihime to shut down... but Ichigo brings himself back from the brink of death as he hears her scream, repeating to himself that he will protect her. Later, chapter 589 features Orihime wearing a ''very'' {{stripperiffic}} outfit thanks to Urahara, who {{troll}}s her into doing so by claiming it will "cheer up" Ichigo... he [[LuminescentBlush notices]] but ''desperately'' tries to not get DistractedByTheSexy, until Chad embarrasses both of them by mentioning it. Yoruichi's reaction to Ichigo's stammering is to beat him up for [[ShipperOnDeck not complimenting her looks]] Later, Ichigo cradles Orihime to him during an attack, and explicitly asks her to be his fighting partner, much to her joy. [[spoiler:By the end of the manga, they have become an OfficialCouple]].
* Renji and Rukia have gotten quite a bit of ShipTease as well. Both regretted having lost direct contact ever since Rukia was taken in by Byakuya, which also was the biggest motivator for Renji to become a liutenant - so he and Rukia can be friends again. Mirroring Renji's plea to save Rukia, as soon as [[ShipperOnDeck Ichigo]] saves her from being executed he immdiately [[FastballSpecial throws her at Renji]], ''explicitly'' saying that [[DeclarationOfProtection HE]] is the one who should protect her from then on. In the Thousand Year Blood War arc Renji and Rukia are seldom seen separated, and right before the last fight against Yhwach, Renji thanks Ichigo for allowing them to rekindle their bonds. [[spoiler:By the end of the manga, they have become an OfficialCouple]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Digimon]]
* In ''Anime/DigimonAdventure'' and ''Anime/DigimonAdventure02'', Takeru and Hikari was the premiere FanPreferredCouple. The show uses its own mechanics to pair them off: when Hikari first activates her crest, Tailmon evolves into a DistaffCounterpart of Takeru's Digimon; the crests of Light and Hope are decreed to be special in a way the others are not; and their Digimon's armored forms share a CombinationAttack. ''02'' increases the ShipTease by constantly pairing them off as the new team's only veteran members and giving them a long-established friendship (not to mention, its episode 13).
** "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-ROGoxKRQo Focus]]", one of Takeru's {{image song}}s, mentions someone that he's known since he was small and who he wants to protect -- even relating that "[[http://www.animelyrics.com/anime/digi02/focus.htm you used to cry all the time, but now you're standing in the light]]" and wondering if he is the focus of that person's heart.
** Hikari's ImageSong from the ''Girl's Festival'' album, however, is not quite as clear cut. It's focus is a childhood friend, Takeru, obviously, whom she has fond memories of and perhaps nurtured a crush on, but has a [[AmbiguousSituation highly ambiguous line]] near the end - "[[http://www.megchan.com/lyrics2/digimon/reflection_e.html It's a little too cute to call it love]]", which fuels much AlternateCharacterInterpretation.[[note]]That might be a quirk of translation. The line is 'Koi to yobu ni wa kawaii sugi da yo ne?', which does essentially translate the way the link says, but 'koi' can stand for selfish love, as opposed to a purer, 'cuter' love closer to what Takeru displays. Thinking of it that that way, their ship didn't quite sink as much as it just mysteriously fell to the won't side of WillTheyOrWontThey.[[/note]]
** Then there's also the short story in the booklet of the Christmas CD, where V-mon and Patamon say Daisuke and Takeru are going to give Hikari a present. Tailmon says Hikari is knitting a scarf for someone "but won't tell me who is it for", at which Patamon says "Ahh, I know nothing...".
** In the movie, Hurricane Touchdown, Hikari and Takeru travel to visit Mimi in New York by themselves, apparently just for fun, while the rest of the group is in the beach.
** Due to the nature of Takeru and Hikari's relationship, this extends to their Digimon partners as well. Frontier even makes a reference to this via Seraphimon/Ophanimon and Patamon/Plotmon. [[http://i.imgur.com/Wy6BbhM.jpg And then there was this shot of Angemon and Angewomon...]]. And to a lesser extent, [[http://i.imgur.com/DpOxIFE.gif this moment in Zero Two where Patamon and Tailmon dance together]].
** A Drama CD reveals the reason why Hikari and Takeru grew so close in the events between ''Adventure'' and ''02'' was because they often had play dates at Yamato's house.
* Koushirou/Mimi is one of the most popular ships in the Japanese Digimon fandom, often going toe-to-toe with Takeru/Hikari. This is confusing to a lot of Western fans as [[ShipsThatPassInTheNight Koushirou never paid any attention to Mimi]] and they prefer other ships such as Jou/Mimi or Yamato/Mimi (although the latter itself is seen as bizarre by the Japanese fanbase). The writers have caught on, since in tri. [[PanderingToTheBase Koushirou now develops an explicit crush on Mimi]], and they share plenty of ShipTease with each other.
** Koushirou starts dressing nicer and actually cares about what he looks like so he can impress Mimi. He blushes whenever she's around and Mimi loves to poke fun at him for it.
* Yamato/Mimi is one of the most popular Mimi ships in the Western fandom while it receives no attention from Japanese fans. The reason for this is that it is completely non-existent in the original Japanese series but the English dub makes it seem like Matt has a crush on Mimi. In the English dub, Matt blushes when T.K. asks him if he thinks Mimi is cute. The original Japanese scene had Yamato blush at Takeru talking about how he wanted to visit him.
* Taichi/Sora was probably the largest straight ship in the Western fandom thanks to their teasing in ''Our War Game!'', Taichi's line about Sora's love when her crest glows, and his anguish when he elts her get captured by Datamon - until it got [[ShipSinking blown to pieces]]. WordOfGod has stated that [[OfficialCouple Yamato/Sora was planned from the start]] and that Taichi/Sora was never a possibility with the teasing in ''Our War Game!'' being the result of a communication error with director Mamoru Hosoda. This didn't stop the writers from [[YankTheDogsChain yanking the chain]] of Taiora shippers in subsequent installments of the series.
** The movies do a lot to fuel the Taiora fandom. ''Our War Game'' features a subplot about how Taichi and Sora aren't talking due to a sudden spike in BelligerentSexualTension instigated by growing pains -- Taichi gave Sora a hairclip for her birthday, which she interpreted as a veiled criticism of her hairstyle. The dub went even farther, adding DubText to the original ''Digimon Adventure'' (both movies were incorporated into [[Anime/DigimonTheMovie one feature]] in America) with young Sora leaving an angry message for Tai after she discovered he'd thrown up in her hat).
** ''Diablomon Strikes Back'' takes place, of course, after Sora and Matt start dating, but throws in a few teases anyway, [[http://baconator4ever.tumblr.com/post/30599749572/ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-3-3-3-cannon like when a startled Sora hid behind Taichi]] or when they sit together during the end credits on a train. Interestingly, the train image has been retconned as all official art of that scene has Sora replaced with Hikari.
** Anime/DigimonAdventureTri teases Taichi/Sora and Yamato/Sora ''simultaneously''. It left the Yamato-Sora situation highly ambiguous as to [[TrollingCreator whether Sora and Yamato were dating, or if they broke up, or if they ever started dating in the first place]]. A lot of Taiora shippers started to think that finally their ship could beat all the odds and become canon but as the series progressed it became clear that the [[ForegoneConclusion 02 finale was still canon]] and that the series was only [[PanderingToTheBase inserting so much teasing to maintain fandom interest]].
* Daisuke and Ken have moments of HoYay in ''02''. Including the Kaiser getting a little too excited by having Daisuke crawling like a worm for him, as well as that their hearts beat together when their Digimon first Jogressed. Yes, they even have a SleepCute moment.
* In the original ''Anime/DigimonAdventure'', there's a smidgen of ShipTease between Nancy and Hiroaki, TK's and Matt's ''divorced'' parents. [[http://www.oocities.org/takaishitachi/holdinghands.jpg They're awfully friendly]], [[AmicableExes at the very least]].
* Impmon/Beelzemon and Renamon of ''Anime/DigimonTamers'' get some tease, what with him frequently hitting on her and her expressing masked concern for him multiple times. Then there's their [[PsychicLink "bond"]], which lets them sense the other's presence and is so strong that Renamon is able to hear him screaming while he gets beaten halfway to death, despite ''being on different planes of existence''.
** This is, however, a case of [[DubText the American dub adding things.]] Impmon doesn't flirt with her in the original Japanese version or other dubs. Similarly, the lines about Renamon "feeling his presence" or "having a connection with him" only appear in the English dub.
* Rukato fans will swear by ''Runaway Digimon Express'', which features Takato and Ruki as TheProtagonist and {{Deuteragonist}}, respectively. There's the phone conversation in the intro, in which Takato is so dorky Ruki briefly goes ''[[{{Tsundere}} dere-dere]]'' on her end of the line; Takato risking his life to save Ruki's and declaring NoOneGetsLeftBehind after she begs him to because IWillOnlySlowYouDown; and the final scene, where Takato attempts to approach Ruki only for Renamon to appear as a MomentKiller so Ruki could be alone with her thoughts.
** Amusingly, the opening scene of the movie features Ruki trying to drag answers out of Takato, pointing out how unlikely it was that he wanted her [[BlatantLies to see the Cherry Blossoms]] because [[FailedASpotCheck it's not the proper season]]. This immediately implies Takato asked Ruki to [[NotADate go see the Cherry Blossoms with him]].
** For the record, the writers nonetheless insist on maintaining the original Takato-Juri and Ruki-Ryo pairings; the ''Message in a Packet'' CD Drama deliberately retconned ''Express'' out of the way and provided a private moment between each pair.
** The ''Tamers'' Manga by Yuen Wang Yu notably declined to make Ryo anything more than TheCameo as HeroOfAnotherStory, which left several of his scenes late in the series open. The author rearranged things to have Takato pick up his slack, including all that leftover interaction with Ruki.
* Most Japanese fans, on the other hand, went crazy for the Jenrya/Ruki interactions as it's quite a popular FanPreferredCouple over there. Their favorite scenes were the instances when Jenrya notes that she does care about them despite her prickly attitude, causing her to act tsun-tsun.
* In ''Anime/DigimonFrontier'', Izumi has a bit of a ShipTease with every boy on the team, sans Tomoki. The most prominent teasing is mostly seen between her and either Takuya or Kouji. With Takuya, they had a borderline confession to each other near the end of the season, but in her track on the Drama CD she talked about Kouji with the most affection and claimed to be like Takuya's ''sister'', yet she also confessed that one of the things she likes about Takuya is his passion.
* ''Anime/DigimonFusion'' did this for three episodes with Beelzebumon (not the ''Tamers'' one) and Mervamon. After he protects her from an attack, she starts hanging around him, helping him, and getting worried when she can't find him (although she pretends she doesn't care). He even makes her blush at one point. The third episode has them occasionally holding hands and flying around together with him carrying her. [[spoiler:Then it all screeches to a halt when he sacrifices himself to defeat Lilithmon]]. In the final episode [[spoiler:when he got better, Mervamon sees Beelzebumon and tackles him, crying and repeating "Thank god". Later after the BigBad was taken out she can be seen clinging to his arm, almost cementing the pairing]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Haruhi Suzumiya]]
* ''Literature/HaruhiSuzumiya'':
** Haruhi's feelings for Kyon are rather obvious, to [[SheIsNotMyGirlfriend everyone but Kyon]] (who can't stop ranting and snarking about her), and Kyon's crush on Mikuru is hilariously explicit. The crush actually ''is'' returned by Mikuru, with occasional flirting between the two, but you know how the time travel-rules are...The teasing comes in with Yuki ([[spoiler:to the point of blatancy in the fourth novel/theatrical film where she temporarily [[BecomeARealBoy becomes a "real" girl]]...''for Kyon'']]) and [[AmbiguouslyGay Itsuki]], who may just be doing it to mess with Kyon, aka Mr. HaveIMentionedIAmHeterosexualToday. If the 5th novel is anything to go by, Mikuru's feelings for ''Haruhi'' and Koizumi's statements on how charming Haruhi is and that he "envies" Kyon. And let's include the return of [[spoiler:Ryoko Asakura]] in ''Disappearance''. One has to ask himself ''why'' she, despite being a normal human, [[spoiler:[[PsychoLesbian stabbed Kyon to protect Yuki]]]].
** Kyon implies in one of the novels that he has dreams about alternate Yuki on a regular basis.
** Perhaps appropriately enough, official parody series ''The Melancholy of Manga/HaruhiChan'' has its own teases, but ''only'' for Kyon/Yuki and Kyon/Itsuki, with some Yuki/[[spoiler:Achakura]] on the side.
** Creator/MinoriChihara, Yuki's voice actor, apparently also likes to tease for Kyon/Yuki, if [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W01R_3G1N3g this is any indication]]; notice that she replaced the last word of the [[http://www.animelyrics.com/anime/haruhi/yukimuonmadobe.htm lyrics]] from [[spoiler:"Believe me (shinjite)"]] to [[spoiler:"I love you (daisuki)"]].
** In the ''Snow Mountain Syndrome'', each Brigade member are confronted with hallucinatory versions of the people they fantasize about the most. Kyon naturally sees Mikuru. Haruhi sees [[spoiler:Kyon]] while Mikuru sees [[spoiler:Yuki]], Koizumi sees [[spoiler:Kyon]] and Yuki sees [[spoiler:Kyon]], though which hallucination that appeared to each member was actually [[spoiler:a formula worked out by Yuki to provide a clue to help them escape]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Lyrical Nanoha]]
* Nanoha and Fate:
** Nanoha's first impression of Fate is "the girl with [[WhatBeautifulEyes sad and beautiful eyes]]," and soon makes it her number one priority to remove that sadness, [[TheDulcineaEffect even at severe detriment]] to her safety and her quest for the Jewel Seeds. After their last battle against each other, Nanoha gives Fate a BridalCarry and season one ends with the two embracing after swapping hair ribbons and promising to call the other's name when they need them. They're currently [[ThereIsOnlyOneBed sharing a bed]] and raising a daughter together, who considers both of them her "mama."
** The second season has the two of them swapping video messages with each other in order to keep communicating with one another while Fate's trial is coming up. It's mentioned by Arisa that, when Nanoha found out that Fate would be returning, she became very excited and energetic. At the end of episode 1, when Vita is about to beat up Nanoha, Nanoha cries out for the someone to help her with her shouting out "Fate-chan!" [[BigDamnHeroes Sure enough Fate appears immediately afterwards to block the blow from Vita and save Nanoha.]]
*** The ending theme for season 2, which is sung by Nanoha's seiyu, is fairly eyebrow raising in it of itself as it talks about how "even if I become a maiden I won't forget about the day we meet by chance my love." The song is about a young girl meeting her true love on a flower garden, the promise that they made, and being in love [[WhenSheSmiles with their smile.]] And in case there was doubt about who this song is for, the last visual of the ending shows Nanoha running over to a tree in the middle of a flower field and staring face-to-face with Fate on the opposite side of the tree.
** WordOfGay [[http://s240.photobucket.com/user/BPHaru3/media/RND/Fate_chan_is_a_prince_en.jpg.html has also come down from the voice actresses for the two characters, and from series creator Masaki Tsuzuki]], [[OfficialCouple thus confirming the true nature of their relationship]] to the world.
*** It gets even better Creator/NanaMizuki [[https://imgur.com/a/MaMoGay creates a schedule]] about how Nanoha and Fate's daily life goes. The activity detailed in the schedule from 22:00 to 1:00 (10:00 PM to 1:00 AM) reads "Reading reports and planning activities/Alone time with Nanoha/Fate" for both of them, detailing a certain aspect of their relationship that's usually kept under wraps.
** The movie remake of the first season cranked the LesYay quotient up considerably. Not only was new Les Yay added and existing Les Yay enhanced, but all of the heterosexual ShipTease moments from the original first season got cut out.
*** Which, considering the RecursiveCanon status that the movie holds in-universe, [[FridgeLogic means that that is what the characters (who had creative control over the movie, presumably) wish to present]]
*** The ending song for the movie, ''My Wish, My Love'' by Creator/YukariTamura (Nanoha's seiyuu), is pretty much a love song from Nanoha to Fate. [[http://honya-ch.com/2010/01/31/lyrics-mahou-shoujo-lyrical-nanoha-the-movie-1st-ed-my-wish-my-love-tamura-yukari/ Lyrics here.]]
** The scene where Nanoha reunites with Fate in the second film wouldn't look out of place in a straight up romantic movie. It first involves Nanoha running to the park where Fate is currently waiting whilst she flashes back to the first time she meet Fate and all of the hardships they fought before they eventually became friends. Then, out of breath from the run, Nanoha looks up and notices Fate in the distance who turns around and notices her too. The two then stare at each other for a few seconds before [[SayMyName calling out the others name]] and tearfully embracing one another. Afterwards Nanoha welcomes Fate back who responds with an "I'm back Nanoha" and the camera pans out to show that the two of them are still holding each other around their waists (which for [[HatesBeingTouched Fate]] is pretty significant). The background music in the scene certainly paints a picture of two lovers reuniting after being separated for so long.
** Yuunoha's scenes vs. [=NanoFate's=] scenes. Huge difference in the amount of scenes Nanoha has with both of them with more of them showing support for Nanoha/Fate along with Yuuno/Nanoha being one-sided on Yuuno's part as WordOfGay confirms that Nanoha and Fate ended up with each other.
** [[http://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/mahou_shoujo_lyrical_nanoha_vivid_ch03#21 This moment]] from Chapter 3 of the ''[=ViVid=]'' manga (warning: mild NSFW). Note [[LuminescentBlush Fate's reaction]] when Nanoha enters the bathroom when Vivio asked if they could join Fate. Also note Fate's reaction when Nanoha offers to wash her hair (Fate blushes again and her heart beats).
** And before the aforementioned bathroom scene, there's [[http://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/mahou_shoujo_lyrical_nanoha_vivid_ch01#12 this page]] from Chapter 1 of ''[=ViVid=]'' with Vivio saying that "Fate-mama is Nanoha-mama's '''close person'''. They've known each other since they were 9." And with Fate's reaction in the bathroom scene above...
** And then we have [[http://gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=2020199 official]] [[http://gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=1795317 artwork]] [[http://gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=1714516 of]] [[http://gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=1797238 them]] [[http://gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=1723518 in]] [[http://gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=1723516 interesting]] [[http://gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=1156846 positions/situations]] (warning: ads NSFW and some pictures mildly NSFW).
*** Honestly, just look at official art featuring the two. Most of them tease Nanoha/Fate, both in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. It's even safe to say that Nanoha and Fate have more official art featuring the two of them with each other than official art of Nanoha with Yuuno.
** The {{Omake}} for the ''A's'' manga has Fate explicitly claim to be Nanoha's wife on more than one occasion.
** The {{Omake}} for the ''[[Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaStrikers StrikerS]]'' manga also has Fate pining for Nanoha's attention and constantly giving Subaru a DeathGlare for crushing on Nanoha too.
** [[http://nanofate.us/gallery/nanofate/1066njpg This piece of official art.]] The wedding has finally arrived.
** From the ''[=ViVid=] Life'' manga: [[http://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/magical_girl_lyrical_nanoha_vivid_life_memory_07_welcome_to_the_takamachi_household#7 Fate becoming jealous of Einhart due to a misunderstanding]]. Fate's line of "Nanoha... You have me and everything..." is just the icing on the cake.
*** In another chapter, Hayate makes a comment about how Vivio is a nice kid during a get-together between the Yagamis/Wolkenritters and the Takamachi Family. Nanoha responds that Vivio is a good girl [[https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/magical_girl_lyrical_nanoha_vivid_life_memory_02_the_cursed_rabbits_mystery#4 because she's "[Fate and I's] daughter" while scooting closer to Fate]]. Fate, in response, [[LuminescentBlush blushes furiously]] during this act.
*** In yet another chapter, [[https://imgur.com/a/B5soCVe Hayate takes a drunk Fate back to Nanoha]]. After lying Fate down on their bed, Nanoha gets a video call from Vivio who's having a sleepover with Corona and Rio. When Nanoha answers the call, Fate is red due to being drunk and is moaning out Nanoha's name while Nanoha is positioned in a...questionable manner. As a result, Vivio mistakes her parents doing something else and immediately hangs up while apologizing for interrupting what she thought was a moment between the two.
*** One chapter has Einhart and Vivio going out due to there being a festival with Nanoha waiting for Fate to get ready. Nanoha then notices that Einhart left her underwear behind, leading Fate to inquire that not wearing underwear under a yukata is proper procedure. Nanoha then says that that's for the old times and that you should be wearing underwear now. Fate is then [[LuminescentBlush embarrassed]] due to always believing that wearing a yukata meant that she shouldn't be wearing any underwear. Nanoha then takes an interest, asking if Fate doesn't have any underwear at the moment while moving forward to "inspect" Fate.
** They also have quite a few moments in the [[DramaCD First Sound Stage for A's]]. It starts of when both Nanoha and Fate are alone together at Fate's house. They decide to take a bath but things turn awkward when deciding who should go first. Eventually Fate [[CannotSpitItOut tries to tell Nanoha they could resolve the issue]] [[FuroScene by both going in at the same time]] but is [[MomentKiller interrupted by Amy and Miyuki]] who suggest they all go to the public baths together. Then, despite being in the same area as the Wolkenritter [[MissedHimByThatMuch Fate and Nanoha completely miss them]] because they spend almost the entire trip [[DistractedByTheSexy washing each others backs]]. Nanoha then decides that from now own in order to solve the issue of who will bathe first they'll both get in the bath together. Bonus points for Arisa {{lampshading}} how "lovey dovey" the two are around each other throughout the entire Sound Stage.
** Fate HatesBeingTouched, but she didn't give any negative reactions when Nanoha hugged her at the end of the first season.
** The ''[[Manga/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaVivid ViVid]]'' manga gives multiple instances of Nanoha and Fate acting like a couple even outside of the comfort of their own home despite them being rather [[HideYourLesbians secretive]] about [[WordOfGay their]] [[OfficialCouple relationship]]. [[https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/mahou_shoujo_lyrical_nanoha_vivid_ch65#17 One such moment]] is in Chapter 65 while they're walking to Vivio's school festival.
* Nanoha and Yuuno:
** In the first season, Yuuno was very jealous of how friendly Nanoha was towards Chrono when they first started working with him (especially whenever Nanoha got Chrono to blush). The two of them also bond over discussing their lonely early childhoods, and they promise to have more talks like that in the future, when there's nothing going on to worry about. During the final battle against Precia, when Nanoha and Yuuno work together to take out the power plant and its robotic defenders, Nanoha comments on how much she relies on Yuuno's warm support, punctuating her words with a positively ''sultry'', half-lidded look that, coming from an older girl, could only have meant "You don't know it yet, but you're MINE." In the time-skipped epilogue of the second anime season, Amy asks Yuuno if he's "made progress" with Nanoha. Even Fate notes that Nanoha and Yuuno "share a special relationship we can't understand" in a Sound Stage.
** In the supplementary manga issue that recaps and expands the second season's epilogue, Yuuno's answer to Amy's question about romantic progress is dramatically revised. Instead of responding with an embarrassed negative, Yuuno cheerfully says he and Nanoha are nothing more than childhood friends. Even then, the manga throws some support in for Yuunoha when Amy sadly classifies this as a symptom of their mutual workaholicism; she resolves to "have a talk" with them about it.
** However, in the [[Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaStrikers third season proper]], while Yuuno's role is [[DemotedToExtra greatly reduced]] compared to his role in the previous two seasons. His cameo on episode 8 show him and Nanoha cheerfully talking to each other, both blushing and warmly smiling at one another. Fate even leaves to give them some space.
* ''[=ViVid=]'' also gives Vivio her own ShipTease with Einhart, which is both a ReincarnationRomance and a GenerationXerox of Nanoha and Fate's relationship.
* Subaru and Teana are teased almost as much as Nanoha and Fate, with Subaru being ''very'' affectionate both physically and verbally, to the point of outright stating she loves Teana and groping Teana's breasts while she's sleeping, and Teana being a classic {{Tsundere}} model, complete with [[FieryRedhead red hair]] and [[GirlishPigtails twin tails]] (though she removed the latter after the second TimeSkip).
* Buried amongst all of the yuri ShipTease is the straight PuppyLove Tease of [[FlirtyStepsiblings Erio and Caro]]. The Sound Stage has Caro actually following Erio into the men's side of a public bath to [[BathtubBonding do some bonding]] -- even suggesting that they take more baths together in the future -- much to Erio's sputtered embarrassment.

[[folder:Mazinger-Z]]
* The original Creator/GoNagai ''Anime/MazingerZ'' manga had way more ShipTease between Kouji and Sayaka than the anime adaptation. Thus, when Sayaka told Kouji he was being transferred to her high-school (in the early chapters), he blushed and stated he "would look forward to it".
* And when Boss got a crush on a teacher, Kouji was glad because then he "would have no competition for Sayaka's heart".
* And then you have the HotSpringsEpisode. Kouji and Sayaka accidentally see each other naked in the springs, run away and collide with each other (they were so started they did not realize the spring was circular and they were running into circles). Kouji helped Sayaka on her feet, and after a row of mutual apologies they bathed together, back-to-back and with [[LuminescentBlush huge blushes on their faces]]. That scene doubled like both a CMOF and a CMOH, and it was adapted in an ''Anime/ShinMazinger'' episode.
* In the anime had less teasing moments but they definitely were there, although often in the way of BelligerentSexualTension. In episode 7, Shiro is praising Boss for being the OnlySaneMan in that episode, and Boss is getting smug...until one of his goons suggest him noticing Kouji and Sayaka are walking away together. Boss got quickly angry.
* In episode 29, Kouji sees a [[{{Robeast}} Mechanical Beast]] -Grengus C3- walking from the place where Aphrodite A had gone to a while ago, and he...completely freaks out. He hops on the first bike he finds--not realizing it was not his--and drives towards the place the Beast came from, screaming "[[SayMyName SAYAKA!]]" the whole way. When he found her, she was lying on the ground, knocked out. He managed to wake her up and then he hugged her silently.
* And in episode 32 they are having their...third or fourth fight in that episode. Meanwhile, Shiro is fortune-telling and he tells "It is funny. The cards tell they are destined to be together forever."
* Episode 48, Sayaka and Boss are getting fun teasing a disgruntled Kouji at the end of the episode. Then Sayaka asked Boss going out to have lunch. Kouji flipped instantly, getting jealousy and shouting "What is going between them?"
* In episode 52 Kouji and Sayaka have their bigger fight. Kouji gets badly wounded after sortying alone, and [[DudeShesLikeInAComa Sayaka kisses him while he is sleeping in a hospital bed]]. Later Kouji is bleeding on the ground, unconscious and maybe dead and Sayaka makes an AnguishedDeclarationOfLove ("Please, don't die. I want getting married to you). Then he opens his eyes, smiles and replies he is not going to get married to a tomboy. Sayaka ''roars'' and she decides killing him for real.
* And then you have all times Sayaka got jealous when a girl (even if she was non-human!) got close to Kouji: Minerva, Misato, Erika...
* Their last scene in episode 92, they flying together to America, and smiling at each other.
* In the ''Mazinger-Z versus Great General or Darkness'' feature, Sayaka cried as she was listening to Kouji going through his DespairEventHorizon DramaticSitdown moment. Later Kouji and she got an AlmostKiss before his departure.
* In the Gosaku Ota alternate manga adapted that scene, though, they DID kiss. And it was ''[[TheBigDamnKiss glorious]]'' (they were floating in a void, and flower petals fell around them).
* In that same alternate universe, after that scene their relationship got uneasy for a while since Kouji, unsure of how dealing with it, was avoiding her, and Sayaka got saddened because he was distancing from her. However, at the final scene, [[spoiler:the group meets Kouji again and he reveals he has been turned into a cyborg due to his body becoming badly harmed during the FinalBattle. He says Sayaka he's sorry because he no longer is human...]], and her reaction was hugging him and telling she does not care, and he is still ''her'' Kouji.
* Again in that universe, Boss kissed an unconscious and bedridden Sayaka before leaving for a seemingly unwinnable battle, telling that all he could make for the girl he loved was dying like a hero.
* And in the ''Anime/GreatMazinger'' Gosaku Ota manga, when Kouji and Sayaka [[BackForTheFinale returned]] from America, Tetsuya teased Kouji, asking what he had done with Sayaka during their stay overseas. Kouji blushed.
* Talking about Tetsuya, there was a healthy amount of teasing between Jun and him. Jun flirting with an ObliviousToLove Tetsuya, Jun pretending a sprained ankle just so Tetsuya rubbed her foot (unfortunately it did not work like she hoped), Tetsuya returning the unwanted gifts of a StalkerWithACrush in person and warning that Jun wanted being left alone, he getting jealousy and accusing her of wanting to replace him with Kouji (and being slapped for it. Seriously, it was stupid)...And in the Creator/GoNagai manga a [[{{Robeast}} War Beast]] got Jun hostage. Cue Great Mazinger beheading the Beast with [[ArmedLegs a brutal kick]] as Tetsuya yelled she was a very special person for him.
* Teasing between Boss and both female leads (Sayaka and Jun) revolved around Boss being a StalkerWithACrush and both girls ignoring or pretending not noticing his poor attempts. However, sometimes you got them standing up to him when Kouji or Tetsuya were acting stupid.
* In ''Anime/UFORoboGrendizer'' there was a good amount of teasing between Duke and Hikaru. Many scenes featured them together, sometimes at night, invoking the ire of Hikaru's BoyfriendBlockingDad, who threatened to hang Duke with his bare hands if he gets closer to his daughter (NotHyperbole). And in the ''UFO Robo Grendizer versus Great Mazinger'' feature, Goro teases his big sister and Duke are in love.
* There also was BelligerentSexualTension between Kouji and Maria (interesting, considering Sayaka was meant to be newest team member and Maria replaced her due to ExecutiveMeddling, filling her role). In a scene, Kouji tries to wake up an unconscious Maria using [=CPR=], and then Maria woke up suddenly and slapped him.
* Sayaka and Maria use to fight over Kouji in universes where they interact, like the ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWars'' games or the ''Dynamic Heroes e-manga''. In the final scene, the whole cast are giving goodbye to Duke and Maria. Then smirking Sayaka suddenly snuggles up Kouji, and Maria goes ballistic.
* In ''Anime/{{Mazinkaiser}}'' twins Loru and Lori ask Kouji if he is in love with Sayaka, and he starts stuttering.
* And in the ''Mazinkaiser'' manga, Sayaka stops the rampage of a berserk Mazinkaiser by huging the HumongousMecha with her own FemBot...Kouji felt like if a naked Sayaka was hugging him from behind -and he was naked, too-, and then he snapped out of his trance.
* The ShipTease between Kouji and Sayaka got cranked up in ''Manga/ShinMazingerZero''. At the first arc they were a couple. In the next timeline/arc, Sayaka blushes when Kouji explains he can't tell why, but he is crying because he has seen she is fine. Sayaka gets jealousy when she sees girls getting too close to Kouji, Minerva states Sayaka is irreplaceable for Kouji...

[[folder:One Piece]]
If you ship anything in ''Manga/OnePiece'', there's a reasonable chance a good chunk of your evidence comes from filler, specials, or movies. No, seriously, who they're ship teasing with who changes like the phases of the moon.
* PlayedForLaughs, but Sanji and Zoro get a lot of ShipTease scenes in the fillers, from sleeping with their faces ''right'' next to each other to nearly kissing twice.
* Luffy/Nami, or [[PortmanteauCoupleName LuNa]] as it's commonly known amongst the fandom has gotten ''a lot'' over the years. Most notable is the fact that Luffy only ever hands his signature straw hat to Nami (though this may be because she stays out of trouble and can fix it, as he's also given his hat to Vivi). The most commonly known instance of this is when he places it on her head during the Arlong arc.
** Not to mention Nami's moment when she was on Weatheria; crying for Luffy and wanting to help him as soon as possible because she understood the pain he was going through after [[spoiler:Ace died]] as her mother was murdered in front of her in a similar fashion.
** [[http://i0.wp.com/toxicmuffin.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/one_piece_cover.jpg?strip=all This medieval-themed spread]] depicts Luffy as a king and the others, including Robin, as his knights, except Nami who is depicted as a queen or princess. [[https://i.pinimg.com/originals/88/34/a7/8834a7c0c181f5ff6229b1ebe80c27b7.jpg In this zombie-themed spread,]] Nami is seen hugging onto Luffy (along with Chopper). There's also [[https://i.pinimg.com/originals/27/0c/22/270c2281372c1c883aa00f69cae427cd.jpg this color spread]] which depicts Luffy and Nami on some kind of throne and another cover spread where [[https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSXuq4Gvzlfu9DpEMDwWFTlQw9nlTM9S92ySA&usqp=CAU Nami feeds Luffy a banana while smiling]].
** During the manga's month-long hiatus, Oda drew a few doodles containing information about himself. To celebrate the birth of his new daughter, he drew a scene of Luffy holding up a baby... with Nami's hairdo and with Nami herself standing right next to him, looking pleased as punch. [[OhCrap Uh oh.]]
*** [[http://i.imgur.com/prOQC.jpg Here's]] the page where you can find the image. It is apparently meant to be a picture of Oda's daughter.
** The kicker of this ShipTease? While Luffy doesn't even flinch on Hancock's proposals, he gets a NoseBleed at Nami's [[HilarityEnsues Happiness]] [[TheTease Punch]]. Though Oda explains that Luffy only acted like that around Nami due to Usopp's influence.
** Pretty much all of ''Anime/OnePieceFilmStrongWorld'' is about Luffy and Nami's relationship platonic or not.
** There's also [[https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x58yabn a moment]] in ''Anime/OnePieceFilmGold'' where Gild Tesoro is crushing Nami while Luffy pleads with him causing Tesoro has a FlashBack to his own loved one Stella being taken from him as a slave as a clear parallel. Shippers got very excited.
** During the Arlong Arc, Luffy destroys the place his navigator-to-be has spent years, slaving away at making maps for Arlong. Nami is brought to grateful tears by the gesture.
** In the Anime during the Adventure of Nebulandia, after Nami saves Luffy from drowning, she continues to stay with him and hold his hand as he gets cpr, until Luffy squeezes her hand and gets back to consciousness.
** Nami seeks out Luffy specifically as a source of comfort when he arrives on Zou, upset about Sanji leaving the crew abruptly and her not being able to stop it. She insists heavily that she should go with him.
** The Tottoland Arc has several canon moments for this ship.
*** For starters, the way Nami hugs Luffy to make him listen so they can depart Zou and leave for Tottoland: Hugging him so that he looks straight up at her boobs. She’s also not happy that Brook will be joining them.
*** During the voyage to Tottoland in chapter 826, Nami is not happy about the way Reiju saves Luffy after he’s eaten a poisonous fish: Full on suction kiss. It’s even more evident in the anime.
*** During Luffy and Sanji’s fight, Nami roots for Luffy to leave him, because of the way he’s been treated. Then there’s that huge slap she lands on Sanji’s face for attacking the rubberman the first place (and also for badmouthing the crew).
*** During the fight with Cracker Nami directly boasts that Luffy will win over the Sweet Commander as her captains’ appetite is endless (Luffy had been eating Crackers' biscuit soldiers up till that point), despite Luffy himself objecting to this. That’s a lot of confidence Nami has in the Rubberman.
*** After Luffy and Sanji’s fight, Nami stays with Luffy and waits for the Big Mom army to arrive so they can fight them. That’s some grade A level loyalty from a woman that prefer to run at the first sign of trouble.
*** Nami shows particular concern for Luffy’s role in Beges’ assassination plot, which relies on her captain being the bait for the Big Mom Pirates. Perhaps not much, but she’s also sitting very close to him during the tactics meeting while continually being turned towards him.
** Nami has a small moment during Luffy’s fight with Foxy as she’s much more worried about him than the rest of the crew. She is heavily affected when Luffy proclaims that he'd rather die than lose one of his comrades. Nami is also visibly touched when she finds out why Luffy even accepted the Foxy pirates crew in the first place (he wanted to give their flag to the old man Tonjit whose horse the other pirate captain had previously shot for fun as a way of payback).
* If there's one big contender for Luffy/Nami, it's Sanji/Nami aka [[PortmanteauCoupleName SaNa]] going way back to their initial meeting which for Sanji was literally LoveAtFirstSight Nami even plays along with it being TheTease and getting free meals out of it. In Arlong Park he stops Zoro from attacking her and when he hears Nami's past Sanji declares he'll "''beat Arlong to death''" but Nojiko stops him. Hurting or insulting Nami becomes a BerserkButton for Sanji from then on (overlapping with AlwaysSaveTheGirl), as Kuroobi found out when he bad-mouthed her to [[CurbStompBattle his cost]]. Nami also refers to the cook as "Sanji-kun" an honorific which the rest males on the crew don't get from her, this includes [[SayMyName shouting it]] excitedly whenever Sanji [[DynamicEntry dramatically reappears]] on the scene (along with TearsOfJoy occasionally). Sanji and Nami have the most BridalCarry and FallingIntoHisArms moments out of all the crew members. In Enies Lobby when she finds out Sanji [[WouldntHitAGirl refuses to fight women]] though she is angry with him at first, seeing how torn he is Nami decides to fight in his place [[note]] worth noting Nami has never fought Luffy or Zoro's opponents for them[[/note]].
** If you thought Luffy and Nami got attention in the color spreads, Sanji and Nami [[https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/5e/fa/48/5efa48e9f21f1b91c30298fd8b4beb02.jpg get]] [[https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR6lJ5sOA0EwVdAeL26icB6NN46ZJM1zElMQw&usqp=CAU just]] [[https://farm1.staticflickr.com/702/21874237561_d9eb974c13_o.jpg as]] [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/onepiece/images/a/a0/Chapter_726.png/revision/latest?cb=20131108113831 much]] [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/onepiece/images/9/95/Chapter_972.png/revision/latest?cb=20200223174252 if not even more]].
** A lot of the ''Anime/ClockworkIslandAdventure'' movie was shipteasing with Sanji [[https://66.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m7tnjccRAW1r3d7j0o1_500.gif applying sun tan lotion]] to Nami's naked back at the start and even gloating about it to the movie's {{Yandere}} antagonist Bear King. Plus Nami wears a wedding dress for most of the movie while Sanji wears a groom suit, which got showcased on the [[https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn%3AANd9GcQlMm-wAz5WmzQf-2rWzZV62o7hywbix_bJWZcW4sZYfRwulnaB&usqp=CAU poster]].
** In Davy Back {{Filler}} Foxy claims the Straw Hats' children and grandchildren, Sanji then imagines his daughter and guess who she [[StrongFamilyResemblance looks]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxoQ1VFoRsI like]].
** A lot of Thriller Bark was shipteasing with Nami and Sanji. Especially the whole [[DamselInDistress rescue]]/[[SpeakNowOrForeverHoldYourPeace wedding interruption]] when Nami's biggest stalker [[StalkerWithACrush Absalom]] forces Nami to nearly [[AndNowYouMustMarryMe marry him]] leading to [[https://68.media.tumblr.com/cf995efc302fd9e10a704812e92078c2/tumblr_inline_okp67ykcK41rpcdyn_1280.jpg this great panel as Sanji swoops in to save her]]. Which the anime took [[https://youtu.be/sbqM-i_9_mI?t=20 even further]]. If that wasn't enough, Sanji then takes a massive beating and knife through the shoulder for Nami and she doesn't even know what he did to protect her, since she was unconscious which is the suckiest part.
** The Boss-Luffy historical specials are rife with Sanji and Nami moments as they own a restaurant together. The most teasing moment is at one point when Sanji comforts a sulking Nami leading to a moment of genuine mutual [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HlU1QLagno affection]] [[spoiler: before Sanji ruins it]].
** The first [[https://youtu.be/-ku0AfGnvuM?t=50 trailer]] for ''VideoGame/OnePiecePirateWarriors'' (bonus points for Nami's facial expression and hand position).
** The first thing we see Nami do in the Zou arc is cry to Luffy over Sanji's exit from the crew and she then proceeds to not shut up about the cook for the rest of the arc, we see why she's so distraught in a FlashBack showing Sanji's incentive to leave (blackmail). Nami is to the first to volunteer to go with Luffy to save Sanji.
** Toei sends the shippers into overdrive but having Nami literally chase after Sanji when Bege takes him away in Zou, the sad music starts playing, and Nami even falls to her knees in despair. Really [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTtm4ZuzQ7k it's quite]] a TearJerker.
** At the beginning of Whole Cake she is jumping at the chance to see him again. [[spoiler: Unfortunately for Nami, when she does reunite with the cook he is forced to violently [[FakeDefector reject her and Luffy]], leading to a slap and many tears, Nami states he won't forgive Sanji anytime soon. However, Nami couldn't help but be overjoyed [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RoYvCoUj2V8&pp=ygUSc2FuamkgY2F0Y2hlcyBuYW1p when Sanji saved her from falling at the Tea Party]] (Toei even gave them LoveBubbles). Also when escaping through Seducing Woods, Sanji carries Nami in his shoulder and protects her from harm]].
*** By the end of the arc Nami (teary-eyed) is happy Sanji is back on the crew and gives him a big hug. Once again Sanji ruins the moment but it’s still sweet.
** Toei favors Sanji/Nami once again with [[https://youtu.be/Z16AIXkYRws?t=9 this little moment]] at the start of Wano. Bonus points for the HeldGaze, and for Nami putting her hand on Sanji's chest while he wraps an arm around her waist.
** In Egg Head, Jinbei’s Seraphim clone S-Shark just grabbing at Nami triggers Sanji’s LetsGetDangerous with him claiming that just touching her is “unforgivable”. Later Sanji saves a grateful Nami again from being killed by S-Shark JustInTime and reiterates that in his rules of the world scaring Nami warrants a brutal beating and outright attacking her is punishable by death. When S-Shark’s punch to his face is [[NoSell ineffective]], Sanji claims it’s [[ThePowerOfLove love]] (for Nami) that’s giving him power, in actuality it’s his more awakened genetics but his care for Nami does undeniably give him a boost regardless.
* Before the full crew was assembled, Nami/Zoro was somewhat prevalent, due to Nami and Zoro being the two most mature members of the crew and had the BelligerentSexualTension (Nami was a {{tsundere}} and Zoro was a bit of a {{jerkass}}).
** There's also the [[PiggybackCute piggyback ride]] Zoro gave Nami [[http://data.whicdn.com/images/96982900/original.gif in Alabasta.]]
** In ''Anime/OnePieceFilmZ'' Nami [[http://zoronamiplus.weebly.com/uploads/3/7/6/7/37674207/_2855932_orig.gif clings]] to Zoro for safety at one point.
* Believe it or not, but Nami/Usopp has gain attraction over the years and not without evidence. Nami is very similar to Usopp since they're both [[LovableCoward Lovable Cowards]] and he is the first crewmate to understand how much she would do to protect her village i.e. faking his death by making look as she stabbed him when she actually stabbed her hand, saving him from the Arlong Pirates. Usopp along with Sanji is the only crewmates to hear Nami's [[DarkAndTroubledPast backstory]] from Nojiko [[note]]Luffy walked away and Zoro fell asleep[[/note]]. Nami actually consoles in Usopp just before Alabasta about how useless she feels combat-wise to the crew and asks for him to build her a weapon, Usopp complies causing Nami to playfully says she loves him. Water 7 has two big TearJerker moments between them: 1) when Nami finds him broken after the Franky Family brutally bashed up and robbed Usopp says he can't face the others because he so ashamed, Nami even yells at the onlookers who are ogling them and 2) when Usopp and Luffy fight Nami is left crying deeply by the end and remains depressed until she meets Usopp disguised as Sniper King, when Usopp come back to the crew proper Nami cries again this with [[TearsOfJoy happiness]].
** Guess what Nami does when she sees Usopp for the first time in two years? [[MarshmallowHell Bury his face]] [[https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQQ4Jo4QYFnFJuVUbwZ5BzB1cVCxeOVax4a1gyGosJ6B8aIgv0VSkqMhU_MoA in her boobs]]... [[https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CD_K32K5BDQ/XeRS6eJx2DI/AAAAAAAAzEc/OmGDCdMGDzUZLghqhAlf63X-rhRnnyb1wCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/015.jpg twice]].
* Franky/Robin ShipTease is all over the anime. One of the OpeningNarration shows Robin helping Franky with his inventions when the helper’s role is usually given to the crew’s another inventor, Usopp. Additionally, when Franky and Robin meet after two years, their conversation has ShipTease starting with Franky openly complimenting Robin’s appearance. Then there’s Franky’s reaction (or lack of) to [[WorldsMostBeautifulWoman Boa Hancock]] when the crew sees her. The anime is quite loyal to the manga, but here and there the anime adds and extends (hilarious) exchanges between the two of them. It seems that the creators of the anime have really taken Franky and Robin’s roles as [[WordOfGod official]] TeamDad and TeamMom seriously and in Punk Hazard Franky [[https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn%3AANd9GcTMKQ4MYiH4HMHvVokIIw4wwlSELXwAHD8Rw9DaqTAqVA3lELBG rests his head]] in Robin's lap and they both act very nonchalant about it. And then there's [[https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn%3AANd9GcRFqhKXBnJRx9qXow5l82YmoGtPSiYKC6-77EP40LCBuZgI8yOv the matching clothes]], or the bit [[https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn%3AANd9GcRp-VFe11ufTMIbaZPPwLIeCIvhYy0U3D1MFUycLV-9JeE6vCX0 when he shields her from danger]].
** Hell the anime was shipping them as early as Enies Lobby as [[https://66.media.tumblr.com/e8e6fdf626944ab9437e5664e4501822/tumblr_inline_oz88432Er11qfwj8t_500.gif Franky catches Robin in his arms when she’s falling]] and both smile at each other before Franky puts her down
** In the Adventure of Nebulandia, there are multiple teases between Franky and Robin. There is possibly some tease between Luffy and Nami.
** Even before that they had quite a bit of ShipTease during Thriller Bark and moments appear in the manga just as much as the anime as well as certain parts being cut from the anime that were in the manga.
** The Chapter 987 cover spread has [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/onepiece/images/5/57/Chapter_987.png/revision/latest?cb=20200810202432 Robin is literally pictured caressing Franky’s face]] like it’s no big deal.
** In Wano, when infiltratind Onigashima, Franky offers Robin a ride on his Motorcycle and she happily obliges. Both are peeved that Brook beats her to the seat.
* Robin and Jinbe in [[http://pm1.narvii.com/6205/f6e34c513915675f1399098e5cdbe4e418a417da_hq.jpg Fishman island]].
** Robin gets a bit with Jinbe in Onigashima too, as she opts to walk with him towards their destination (instead of riding with Sanji on a tank) and happily compliments the fishman on his maturity (compared to the other members of the crew).
* There's also something of a {{Deconstruction}} of ShipTease in Hancock's reactions to Luffy, as she constantly takes what Luffy's saying to mean something else after his ridiculous display of MANLY and falling in love with him. A love so strong she thought it was a lethal fever at first. Luffy is Luffy, he's ridiculously oblivious about it, despite the fact she acts like a doting housewife to him because her sexiness won't woo him, despite her being the hottest woman in the world of One Piece's world according to in series men and women alike.
** The 3D2Y special features them in moments and it ends with her even hugging him in relief he's alright, which actually surprised Luffy for a moment.
** In the Carbonic Acid King Arc they reunite and it can be rather touching to see Luffy not only protect Hancock from being attacked, but primarily due to him remembering how she doesn't want anyone to see the slave mark on her back.
** Subverted when Luffy blatantly tells Hancock that he won't get married (though to be fair she ''does'' misinterpret a lot of Luffy's actions as romantic and it implied this isn't the first time she's asked). As its also implied that, due to the influence Lola did on him back on Thriller Bark, Luffy may think all women want to marry just for the sake of being married.
* The SheIsNotMyGirlfriend moment with Hachi and Camie.
* There has been Vivi/Kohza which is understandably seeing how they are childhood friends and still care for each other.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8UhLOJXHZg Zoro/Robin get a lot of this.]]
* Also, Zoro/Tashigi, who physically resembles Zoro's deceased friend Kuina and who he can't stand seeing. [[spoiler:Post-timeskip, they meet again but Zoro doesn't have the same violent, freaked out reaction he used to have]]. Oda also, when asked why she was embarrassed being carried by Zoro and not her crew mate, teased that she may have feelings for him.
* Sanji gets a lot of moments with Viola in Dressrosa [[spoiler: both before and after her HeelFaceTurn.]]
* It's quite obvious how much Kaya and Usopp care for one another.
** In the anime, when Usopp's gang show Kaya his wanted poster, she's very happy and declares she needs to keep studying hard to become a doctor so she can take care of Usopp when he gets back. As the gang watches her walk away, they comment that Usopp is a very lucky man and that they'll beat him up if he makes her cry.
** There's also a manga cover where Merry (the butler, not the ship) is fighting off a bunch of handsome suitors who are trying to woo Kaya - while she's completely ignoring them, and has a small picture that looks like Sogeking's wanted poster tacked up to one of her books.
* Makino and Shanks, and her newborn child isn't helping matters.
* In Zou, Luffy and Wanda, who has a proclivity for [[FurryReminder licking him]] and admits that, ahem, ''some minks'' are fond of humans.
* Chopper finally gets some action with the female Reindeer Milky, [[https://i.imgur.com/m8wUcum.png where he goes full Sanji.]]
* [[spoiler:Whole Cake Island starts off with Sanji's sister Reiju kissing Luffy]].
** Sanji and Pudding are In-Universe shipped together in a PerfectlyArrangedMarriage, and it's shown they would great for each other... [[spoiler: until it turns out Pudding plans to [[ShipSinking blow his brains out]] at the altar, though Sanji manages to flip it around when he compliments Pudding InformedDeformity i.e her ThirdEye which makes Pudding HeelFaceTurn and she even [[KissingDiscretionShot kisses him]] at the end of the arc. However Pudding then [[TransferableMemory removes the memory]] of the kiss and flees from Sanji believing a "monster" like herself to be unworthy of him and last time we see Pudding [[BrokenBird she's crying alone in an alley]].]]
* Hilariously Brook and Big Mom got a lot of play, especially when Brook sleeps in the same bed as Big Mom and asks to see her panties in the FinalBattle.
* On a similar note, Luffy [[https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn%3AANd9GcTnMfgRJ42HXq9TJ5FawKrnuu5qPx0h3mcYhsmRIrHWGdH4uU_c made a heart sign]] upon seeing Brûlée in Mirror World, to the amusement of the fans, since Luffy has never made any romantic gesture to any woman before despite meeting many ladies way more beautiful [[{{Gonk}} than]] Brûlée.
** The justification was Luffy was tying to escape Katakuri in the Mirror World at the time so seeing Brûlée who has power [[MirrorMonster over mirrors]] made Luffy delighted at the opportunity, this didn’t dissuade fans however.
* In Wano Zoro has Ship Teasing with Hiyori who is [[DirtyKid Momonosuke]]'s [[TimeyWimeyBall 26 year]] old younger sister, Zoro [[https://12dimension.files.wordpress.com/2019/05/one_piece_ch941_p010-e1557271118892.jpg?w=640&h=497 even sleeps in the same bed as her]] and saves her from ninjas later. It's strongly implied she has a crush on him. She even later gives him her father's sword which was handed down to her specifically upon his death.
** Hiyori even happily mention she clean up Zoro when he was unconcious (to Sanji's dismay).
** Zoro also had some moments with Kiku eariler on.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ranma 1/2]]
* Creator/RumikoTakahashi does some Ship Teasing for some popular [[{{Shipping}} alternate pairings]] in ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf'' on several occasions:
** In one storyline, Nabiki becomes Ranma's fiance because of one of Akane's bouts of jealousy. Nabiki spends the storyline exploiting Ranma mercilessly, [[TheVamp teasing him to keep him in line]], while trying to persuade Akane to take Ranma back -- [[HonestJohnsDealership for a token fee]].
** The infamous "Koi Fishing Rod/Fishing Rod of Love'' story parodies the pairing of Ryoga and Ranma (either [[SlashFic boy]] or [[JumpingTheGenderBarrier girl type]]). Ryoga accidentally causes Ranma to fall into [[{{Yandere}} obsessive love]] with him by hitting him with a [[LovePotion magic fishing rod]]. HilarityEnsues.
** Then there's the "Umbrella of Love" chapter with Nabiki and Kuno, using UmbrellaOfTogetherness. A similar pairing happened in the anime, but with a mistaken fortune telling.
** Some people consider the OAV opening theme "Where Do We Go From Here (You and Me)" to also ShipTease Nabiki and Kuno, as Kuno appears in almost every scene that Nabiki does.
** During one of the {{OVA}}s, the characters have to pair up to enter a cave (the goal of every character involved is to break up Ranma and Akane, naturally). However the storyline hints at Ryoga/Ukyo to make it through the Cave of Lost Love. The end has EVERYONE believing Ukyo and Ryoga are a pair at the end. ([[ArmedWithCanon Possibly including the anime scriptwriters]].)
** This storyline is actually in the manga, so it was once again Takahashi who was poking fun at people in her classical style. However in the manga version it actually counts as ''ShipSinking'' because the curse of the cave was applied to Ukyo and Ryoga instead of Ranma and Akane (due to their usual bickering making the spirits not see them as a couple). In fact, after this story Ukyo and Ryoga ''never spoke to each other again'' for the rest of the manga.
** The anime version also has some Kuno/Nabiki ShipTease...if you consider Nabiki dragging the unconscious Kuno through the cave and at one point using him as a human shield against a lantern ghost to be a sign of affection.
** The 2nd movie does this for Shampoo/Mousse, what with Mousse nearly making a HeroicSacrifice to save Shampoo, and Shampoo actually seeming moved by it.
** Takahashi punctures this one all the time, but perhaps most so in the final storyline wherein Mousse frees Shampoo from enslavement and sacrifices his chances to get her devoted to him, and she immediately glomps Ranma and doesn't even care that he's there the following panel.
** The 2nd movie is also the biggest source of ShipTease in the anime for Ukyo/Ryoga and Nabiki/Kuno. One of the reasons it's so generally disliked even amidst the fans of the anime (besides the fact it more or less recycles the plot of the first) is because of this.
** It should also be mentioned that the Ukyo/Ryoga ShipTease in the 2nd movie is highly subjective to begin with. Fans of the pairing point to Ryoga saving Ukyo from becoming the bride to one of the main antagonist's elite minions. Those who dislike the pairing point out that Ryoga was perfectly content to leave Ukyo with said minion and that he only saved her because Ukyo bribed him with an offer to take Ryoga to where Akane was if he did.
** The anime has a number of subtle ShipTease moments for [[MayDecemberRomance Kasumi and Dr. Tofu]]...namely in the form of Akane and, on occasion, Ranma, being [[ShipperOnDeck supportive of the idea]]. The main ShipTease is the second OAV ending theme, "Red Shoe Sunday", which has lyrics from Kasumi's voice actor and accompanying animation that hint that she actually does feel something for Dr. Tofu and she just wishes he'd get over that stupid habit of his. Official word from Creator/RumikoTakahashi is that Kasumi is not aware of Dr. Tofu's crush and doesn't reciprocate it, she merely treats him the way she does because...well...she's ''Kasumi''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tokyo Ghoul]]
* Kaneki and Touka get multiple bits of this over the course of the series. Examples include when he forces her to stay behind at Anteiku so she can graduate school, but still has a present sent to her on her birthday. On her end, when she hears he has visited Anteiku, she rushes out to meet him while imagining multiple scenarios of how she'll greet him.
* In an omake, Kaneki is placed in Cinderella's role and Tsukiyama is the prince. (Tsukiyama still wants to eat him.) There's also the issue of Kaneki's battle suit; which is completely backless and also form-fitting. The backless part would make sense given the nature of his kagune, but the gap doesn't need to be that big. Then the author suggested that Tsukiyama was the one who designed it.
* Amon and Akira, primarily because her advances are repeatedly rejected by him. She's tried to kiss him twice, while it seems he's still not entirely over Harima's death. She makes an Anguished Declaration of Love after he is declared dead, weeping openly in front of her peers.
* Enji Koma and Kaya Irimi, the two senior waiters at Anteiku, get this late in the series. Even while they are fighting to the death in different locations, each is shown to be thinking about how the other is doing.
* Takizawa goes from resenting Akira as his rival, to calling himself an idiot for only "having seen her from the side". His mother and Hide both tease him over her, suggesting her as a potential girlfriend. After he's declared dead along with Amon, Akira weeps while declaring she loved them both.
* Tokyo Ghoul re has the following:
** Shirazu is shown to have a crush on Akira, blushing in her presence and later declaring her the "Holy Mother of CCG".
** From the moment they meet, Sasaki is taken with the beautiful waitress at a certain cafe and she seems interested in learning more about him. Even without his memories as Kaneki, Sasaki is still drawn to Touka. During the Christmas Episode, both are shown thinking about the other.
** Ayato and Hinami spend quite a bit of time together, and he has to be physically restrained by Naki of all people to keep from charging off to help her when she's captured by Arima and Squad 0.
** Calendar art features Naki and Miza SweetheartSipping from a heart.
** Mutsuki and Sasaki/Kaneki have strong subtext when they are in the Quinx squad together with Mutsuki clearly adoring his mentor/teacher and following him around. They worry about the other and offer emotional support and compliments and Sasaki comes to Mutsuki's rescue sometimes. Things take a darker turn when Mutsuki's hidden personality is revealed which has penchant for dabbling in violence and insanity. He finds himself unable to forget or completely think bad of Sasaki/Kaneki after he leaves the group and while he tells Saiko he believes Sasaki/Kaneki has a good reason for leaving them he is revealed to be bitter about this and longs to be with his beloved mentor again. Due to the mess with Torso and his twisted past and deranged habit of mutilating animals to cope in his own way with the jealously he feels towards Touka the one who has his Sensei's love, he mixes romantic/sexual intentions with murderous intentions which culminates in him stabbing Uta (he had taken on Sasaki's face) repeatedly while declaring his love for Sasaki. He declared how Sasaki belongs to him in true {{Yandere}} fashion and in a moment of twisted passion and madness he stripped from the waist up and sat atop Uta/Sasaki looking to be forcing his love on him.
* There's a good amount of HoYay between the male characters with Tsukiyama/Kaneki and Hide/Kaneki being the most obvious. In the second anime Kaneki carries [[spoiler:a dead Hide]] back in a BridalCarry while crying and smiling gently the whole time.
* The novels has Hinami and Yuuki, though it leads nowhere.
* Eto and Tatara. In [[spoiler: his last moments, Tatara's thoughts are of Eto]], suggesting that he may have been in love with her.
--> Tatara: [[spoiler: Eto...Farewell until the next time we meet.]]
[[/folder]]

!!Others
* ''Manga/AsteroidInLove'' likes to ship-tease [[GenkiGirl Mira]] and [[TheQuietOne Ao]], the main duo. Strictly speaking they have not confessed and would appear to be a pair of [[PseudoRomanticFriendship very close friends]], but then we have these:
** Mira and Ao's first meeting. In no more than a few hours, they not only made ThePromise but continues to treasure the person they met, and the promise they made, despite having not seen each other for years before the story started. As a result, [[YuriFan Moe]] declares them OldFlame.
** On the topic of Moe, she isn't ''just'' a ShipperOnDeck. Not only she declares Mira and Ao as OldFlame in the beginning, but when the Earth Sciences Club and the Newspaper Club discuss [[spoiler:Ao's [[WithAFootOnTheBus planned departure from town]]]], Moe's suggestion is the two "take turns being the weekend commuter wife", effectively declaring them being equivalent of a same-sex couple.
** [[spoiler:Ao's WithAFootOnTheBus situation is resolved by her living in Mira's house because Misa's room becomes vacant owing to the latter going to college out of town. Misa]], who suggested it, calls it cohabitation. When Nanami learns the two living under the same roof, her first reaction is [[MistakenForGay accusing the two of being more than just friends]].
* For all its darkness, ''Manga/AttackOnTitan'' manages to have some of these moments, though they're not the main focus:
** Jean [[LoveAtFirstSight develops a crush on Mikasa when he first meets her]], and it is one of the main reasons for his hostility against Eren.
** Mikasa has been utterly devoted to Eren ever since he saved her life as a child, and blushes when Ian calls her [[ShesNotMyGirlfriend Eren's girlfriend]]. Later on, she tearfully thanks Eren for everything he's done for her and [[AlmostKiss leans forward]] when [[spoiler:she thinks they are both about to die]].
** Eren is the only person who has ever been able to make [[IceQueen Annie]] smile, and she goes out of her way to help him improve his hand-to-hand combat skills. A flashback in the manga also hints that the two of them [[HandsOnApproach sparred often enough]] to make Mikasa feel threatened. [[spoiler:Eren also goes into complete denial about Annie being TheMole, and is so unwilling to fight her that Mikasa accuses him of having feelings for her. And then there's his body language when he sees her overpowered and gagged...]]
** Eren and Armin are VERY close childhood friends and are pretty open about physical contact with each other, to the point where their comrades wondered about them being "more than friends" during their trainee years. Jean, in particular, takes note of Armin and Mikasa's clingyness to Eren. It has also be explicitly shown that they are willing to die in order to save the other.
** Petra is noted to adore Levi and her father cheerfully hints to Levi that he'd like the two of them to get married. The fact that [[spoiler: he tells Levi this without realizing Petra has been killed makes it a TearJerker.]]
** One interpretation of why Auruo tries to act and dress like Levi is that he is trying to get Petra's attention. He also makes a couple of passes at her at one point and seems to be trying to invoke BelligerentSexualTension.
** Reiner teases Bertolt about confessing to Annie when [[spoiler:they complete the mission and return home]]. [[spoiler:Armin exploits this by bluffing that Annie being tortured for information to get a rise out of Bertolt. It worked]].
** Reiner himself has a thing for Christa, seeing her in an angelic light after she saves his life and mentally proposing marriage to her.
** The spin-off adds further tease to most of these pairings, as well as [[CrackPairing Mike and Nanaba]].
** Though not very prevalent in the main works save for some friendly teasing, Levi and Hanji get their fair share of it in the school au spin-off (Complete with shojo bubbles.)
** The official spin-off manga ''A Choice With No Regrets'' is basically one big doujin for Erwin and Levi. Moreover, Levi's strange fixation on Erwin and his opinions is a bit suspect ("That's what Erwin would have done...").
* ''Manga/{{Berserk}}'':
** Anyone who's new to the series will likely enjoy Guts and Casca together especially their [[LikeAnOldMarriedCouple bickering]] and Casca's [[{{Tsundere}} hatred evolving to affection]] and readers and viewers will be rewarded as Guts and Casca [[BelligerentSexualTension eventually]] consummate their relationship in three [[IdealizedSex very sexually explicit but incredibly beautiful chapters]] titled "Wounds", which also leads to Casca getting pregnant. [[spoiler:Only the FanDisservice that comes next, is absolutely horrifying as Griffith jealous of their love starts the [[DespairEventHorizon The Eclipse]] and rips the couple apart by raping Casca causing her [[RapeLeadsToInsanity to go insane]] and even worse mutate Guts and Casca's child before it was even born with his vile demon seed leading to FetusTerrible. Because of this Guts hates Griffith more than anyone, and goes on RoaringRampageOfRevenge for three years until he realizes curing Casca is more important than avenging her, and so devotes himself to her care and protection despite her not returning his affection on a conscious level. As of now Casca is cured is and they even have a sudo-MeadowRun which gets [[HopeSpot ruined]] when Casca remembers all the bad stuff]].
*** The 90s [[Anime/{{Berserk1997}} anime]] and the [[Anime/BerserkTheGoldenAgeArc Golden Age movies]] go above and beyond to make people adore everything about Guts and Casca's relationship, including some [[https://i.pinimg.com/originals/f8/27/e6/f827e68e96ea521e7826837352fcb416.jpg beautiful promo art]] and a [[DanceOfRomance dance]] [[https://youtu.be/kW_8DdgWD00?t=50 scene]] in the second movie that made many long time fans cry like babies.
** Guts/Farnese and Guts/Schierke, get some play in some circles though latter is quite {{Squick}} as Schierke is very underage. Thankfully the fans near-universally [[FanPreferredCouple prefer]] Guts with Casca.
** Guts and Griffith is a big one as well, rivaling Naruto and Sasuke for sheer HoYay ''especially with that naked water fight''.[[spoiler: But it only becomes creepy as Griffith becomes unhealthy [[{{Yandere}} obsessed]] with Guts and has a FreakOut when Guts leaves him and the Band of Hawk and decides the sleep with the princess of the kingdom the fill the void Guts left in him. Griffith is captured and tortured for year as result and only thought of Guts is the only thing that keeps him alive in the darkness. Considering the atrocities Griffith commits after that, any shipping with him and Guts is very twisted FoeYayShipping]].
*** Casca and Griffith was a early ship and thankfully was unrequited for the first half of the series despite a few moments here and there. [[spoiler: Then Griffith violates her and mutates her unborn baby so any thought of Casca with Griffith after that, is unthinkable and unbearable]].
** Hilariously [[DemBones the Skull Knight]] has some moments with [[HookerWithAHeartOfGold Luca]] in the Conviction Arc, really it's just a platonic rescue and conversation in the manga, but that [[MemeticMutation didn't stop]] the internet [[https://i.redd.it/o707za2udxxy.jpg going wild with it]].
*** Skull Knight actually has a implied previous relationship with ancient witch Flora.
** Guts and demon goddess Slan gets a lot [[https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/c8/0d/2c/c80d2c908a46161257dfac07a0d16329.png attention]] from fans, despite it being entirely one-sided.
** Isidro and Schierke get shipped a lot and it's not hard to understand why, as they bicker just as much as Guts and Casca used to and they do legitimately start to care about each's safety. Schierke even dreams about Isidro in Elfhelm.
* ''Manga/BlackButler'':
** [[HoYay Sebastian&Ciel]] are teased every 5 minutes and Alois has a habit of generally hitting on anybody in sight, making it possible to pair him with anyone.
** In the second anime season, we get a pretty...[[FoeRomanceSubtext interesting]] battle between Sebastian and Alois's butler, Claude which led to a massive {{Nosebleed}} from fangirls all over the world.
* ''Manga/BlackLagoon'':
** The infamous [[IndirectKiss "cigarette kiss"]] between Revy and Rock at the end of the 7th episode.
** The Tokyo arc also plays out like one massive Revy/Rock ShipTease, with Revy bringing our the dere-dere (what counts as [[MoreDakka that]] [[SociopathicHero for]] [[DarkActionGirl her]], anyway), jealousy, intense protectiveness, and caring about someone else's mental (or physical) health for what amounts to the first time in the series. Really, any time these two are on screen/in the same panel together counts. Their UST is just that high.
* The recent arcs in ''Manga/BlueExorcist'' have taken the chance to ramp up the ShipTease. So far, we have Yukio/Shiemi, Rin/Shiemi, Rin/Izumo, Shima/Izumo, and Mephisto/Shura. And, for the [[YaoiFangirl Yaoi Fans]], there is Ryuji(Bon)/Rin.
* ''Manga/BungouStrayDogs'' has Dazai Osamu and Nakahara Chuuya, also known as their ready-made ship name 'Soukoku' or 'Double Black'. While both are vocal about their dislike for each other, they were partners prior to the series and the creators have been throwing [[HoYay some ambiguous shades on their relationship]], mostly coming from Dazai's actions towards Chuuya that do not correspond to his [[TheChessmaster Chessmaster]] tendencies. Official art does nothing but pander to this, [[http://bungo-stray-dogs.jp/images/top/main_movi.jpg which includes featuring the two on the very first promotional poster for the upcoming movie]].
* The anime adaptation of ''VideoGame/TheCaligulaEffect'' gives Marie much more screen time and gives her a pre-established relationship with [[TheProtagonist Ritsu]]. The two of them even go to Sea Paraiso during a special event for couples. However, [[spoiler:Marie reveals [[TheSociopath her true nature]] in Episode 11 and, when Ritsu isn't there, wishes she could have seen the look on "that lame virgin's" face.]]
* In ''Anime/CardfightVanguard'', this is done with [[TheAce Koutei]] and [[LadyOfWar Yuri]]. After [[spoiler: Misaki's fight with Yuri]] during the Japan Stage, [[spoiler: Misaki comments that Yuri's Dimension Police deck, the deck she adopted after joining Koutei's team, suits her better than the Oracle Think Tank deck.]]
** Excluding the above example, romance tends to be generallt non-existant in the anime. The manga, on the other hand, seems to jump at every possible chance to tease the Aichi/Misaki pairing.
** Episode 109 slightly teases the Kourin/Aichi/Misaki triangle, complete with ever enjoyable jealousy.
* Perhaps in apology for the impending ShipSinking, a late episode of ''VisualNovel/{{Clannad}}'' features Kyou getting locked in a gym storage room with Tomoya, instantly turning [[{{Tsundere}} deredere]] to the max, and misinterpreting her conversation with Tomoya into thinking she's about to have her First Time. {{Fanservice}}~
* The ''Anime/CodeGeass'' picture books/dramas are full of ShipTease for [[BrotherSisterIncest Lulunana]] fans.
** Or Lelouch and Nunnally both saying "aishiteru" to each other on two separate occasions.
** Face it, the picture and sound dramas ShipTease ''everything''. There's even a crack sound drama with a Suzaku/Lelouch kiss out there. The Creator/{{CLAMP}} art is also fond of playing up [[HoYay that pairing]].
* ''Anime/DanganRonpa3'':
** Hajime and Chiaki already got teased in the game, so it's no surprise the anime amps it up considerably in the Despair arc. [[spoiler:This leads to tragedy once Hajime becomes Izuru Kamukura, though interestingly the tease still continues--his new self very quickly takes an interest in Chiaki and starts crying at her death. He may even have regained his memories of her, which was supposed to be impossible.]] And it's ''still'' teased [[spoiler:even after that--Izuru is shown to have [[TheMourningAfter hung onto]] [[TragicKeepsake her hairpin]] [[TheMourningAfter for years]], turned on Junko because of her death, and frequently left flowers on her desk (the Japanese equivalent of leaving flowers at a student's grave).]]
** The Future arc teases Chisa/Kyosuke by omission: [[spoiler:she dies early on, but Kyosuke's reaction to that]] provides ''a lot'' of ship fuel. Like 'I'd sooner kill everyone here than risk her [[spoiler:murderer escaping justice]]' fuel. Tengan actually suggests that he loved her romantically. The Despair arc tosses more tease, as she constantly talks about how she would happily die for Munakata and his goals, claims she won't let anyone else have him, and the two are shown hugging [[spoiler:amidst the devastation in the final episode]].
** That same arc continues that Naegi/Kirigiri tease, by having her give a big speech about how impressive he is, [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness take off her gloves to hold his hand and comfort him]], [[spoiler: being willing to give up her life for his]], and [[spoiler:utterly devastate him with her (near) death]]. Episode 10 has a flashback to the first game, where he [[WhenSheSmiles blushes upon seeing her smiling]], and later confirms he is indeed in love with her.
* ''Manga/DeathNote'':
** In both the anime and the manga, L is {{Ship Tease}}d with Misa. L touches her butt, claims to be a big fan of Misa, declares that he could fall in love with Misa, and tells Light he is jealous of him for having such a fine girlfriend. Plus, he [[spoiler: puts her in incredibly perverted-looking bondage restraints]]. On Misa's side, she calls L "cute" and "funny" and seems to enjoy him when they first meet, and later she kisses him and declares him a friend. Then [[spoiler: when she discovers "Ryuzaki" is actually L and reads Light's letter ordering L's death, she plans to kill him without a single guilty thought, and gives up half her lifespan for that chance to kill. Fangirls around the world would probably have been glad to kill Misa themselves.]]
** Played even more in the movie with L going so far as to ask Misa if she'd "rather go out with me instead?"
** Then there is L and Light and the FoeRomanceSubtext between them. It goes well beyond HoYay and into HomoeroticSubtext -- it is perhaps the most consistent element across all adaptations, equal to the Death Note itself.
* ''Manga/DeliciousInDungeon'': {{Subverted|Trope}} with Laios and Marcille. A {{succub|iAndIncubi}}us targets Laios by [[ShapeshiftingSeducer transforming into Marcille]]... and then showing him that she's actually a super-cool shapeshifting monster and can transform him into one too.
* ''Anime/DeltoraQuest'':
** A lot of Lief and Jasmine's interactions are ship teasing in anime and manga with the bickering, the rescues, the hugging, hand holding, [[https://youtu.be/uvhPwQvfOUQ?t=848 body holding]] with the EveryoneCanSeeIt being the cherry on top. [[Literature/DeltoraQuest The books]] are far less coy and just have them hook up by the end of the second series.
** There's Jasmine and Dain moments towards the end of the series, which got a lot attraction from some fans in contrast to the books where Dain's admiration for Jasmine is a single sentence. [[spoiler: The shipping abruptly [[ShipSinking stops]] when Dain proves to be DoubleAgent and is killed by Lief.]]
*** Speaking of Dain some select fans [[HoYay shipped him with Lief]] which is hilarious [[spoiler: and by the end of the series can be considered FoeRomanceSubtext]].
** There's quite a few {{Romantic False Lead}}s in the anime especially when the books only had one, Neridah and Francoise for Lief and Dain for Jasmine. Hell even villains [[VillainousCrush get on board]] with Thaegan showing interest in Lief and Oacus hugging onto Jasmine but given both are extremely old in contrast to Lief and Jasmine (sixteen) it's quite creepy.
* ''Manga/DemonSlayerKimetsuNoYaiba'':
** A flashback has Kanae stating that Kanao can change if she can find a guy she likes. [[spoiler:An image of Tanjiro is shown when she said this]].
** In a 4-koma extra chapter, Nezuko when she was still human is asked by her younger brother, Takeo, what kind of man is her type, Nezuko answers she would like a man who’s like a “Hisha”, a piece from Shogi, the Flying Chariot which like the Rook from Chess can only move vertically and horizontally, and the “Hisha” becomes “Ryuou” (Dragon King) once the piece is promoted upon entering the opponent’s territory; [[spoiler:exactly like all of Zenitsu’s Thunder Clap Flash variations, and the 7th form Flaming Thunder Dragon being first used when Zenitsu entered the Infinite Dimensional Fortress, the opponent's territory]].
* ''Manga/DGrayMan''.
** Allen and Lenalee: Where to start with these two? Lenalee goes into a HeroicBSOD when it was presumed Allen died. When the Earl was about to kill her, Allen performs a BigDamnHeroes, reappearing to her the first time since she thought he was dead. Later we get a SleepCute moment. A similar BeautifulDreamer moment happens off-screen when Lenalee fell asleep waiting for Allen to wake up. And not to mention the tearful farewell in chapter 205 when Allen hugs Lenalee and tells her that he loves her ... and everyone else.
** Miranda and Noise during the Destruction of the Black Order arc where the infected Miranda proceeds to bite Noise in the throat, causing him to blush before he realized what happened.
** In one chapter, Kanda drinks [[spoiler:his Innocence]] from Lenalee's hand. Komui was ''not'' pleased.
** Rhode is the first person to kiss Allen on the lips and she takes every opportunity to glomp or flirt with him. And then [[spoiler: she and Tyki]] arrived to rescue Allen from [[spoiler: Apocryphos]], including TakingTheBullet for Allen.
** For disguised herself as Rohfa to speak with Allen after he was discouraged that he wasn't able to regenerate his Innocence and they had an AlmostKiss before the real Rohfa appeared. She goes on to take his appearance to buy him enough time to escape from the attacking Akuma.
** On the other side, For and Bak too. She teased Bak by saying she liked him at one point, only to immediately punch him and say she was lying (while blushing). And when the two of them thought they would be killed by the Level 3 Akuma, Bak held For close.
** And there's the HoYay such as Allen's constant bickering with Kanda, who seems to be the only person who manages to piss him off to the point where Allen breaks his AllLovingHero persona and makes vindictive jabs at him. Also isn't helped with the fact that all their petty arguments are like those of a bickering couple's...
*** The above example makes the ship even stronger when you connect it to chapter 204 when Cross informs us that Allen being all polite is just a mask. This means that Kanda brings out Allen's true self quicker than anyone else, considering Cross implied he tried for a long time to break Allen's Mana mask and get Allen to be rude to him. For Kanda to be able to do so at any given time says a lot about their relationship.
*** They even act nice to one another from time to time, such as the moment where Kanda smiles at Allen.
*** Chapter 199: Kanda actually thanks Allen. He even calls him by his full name instead of "bean sprout."
*** Now with chapter 209 having Kanda accompanying Johnny to find a missing Allen, it becomes a bit of an 'aww, they do care' moment.
*** And in chapter 211 Kanda actually straddles and holds Allen down to the ground when trying to wipe his clown makeup off and talking to him.
*** In chapter 213, Kanda's declaration towards Link makes him sound like a yandere for Allen.
*** Way back in the earlier chapters, both come to the others rescue a lot and Allen once carries an injured Kanda.
* ''Franchise/DragonBall'':
** While Yamcha and Bulma are item before Z, and Goku marries Chi-Chi. The clear couple ''who are never'' seen hooking up are [[FanPreferredCouple Tien Shinhan and Launch]], it's heart warming and hilarious as it's only Launch's [[SuperPoweredEvilSide "bad blonde side"]] that's head over heels with Tien after meeting him. Oolong even spells it out when Launch is patching Tien up in some Filler leading to them both [[LuminescentBlush blushing]], the explanation why Launch is absent from the majority of Dragon Ball Z (apart from Toriyama forgetting about her) is because apparently she's been chasing after Tien after since Dragon Ball as Bulma discovers when she comes back to Kami House after five years. It also explains why Tien and Chiaotzu move around a lot, but as to why Tien would run from a bombshell like Launch who loves him unconditionally? Is a question that’s especially aggravating for fans.
*** The general reasoning is that Tien is a ChasteHero who can't give into worldly things like romance since training is more important. However one of the data books revealed he did eventually (somehow) settles down with Launch in the future. Toriyama however has a contradicting statement which [[ShipSink sinks]] the pairing.
*** The anime adds some scenes with Launch in [[Anime/DragonBallZ Z]] with her acting like a HouseWife for Tien and Chiaotzu ''though'' since she's in her blonde side she suggests to Tien they become [[OutlawCouple Bonney and Clyde]] to get ritch. There also [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Az7YotDNVhY this delightful scene]].
*** Tien will also have quite the reaction if female characters dress up as Launch in [[VideoGame/DragonBallXenoverse Xenoverse]].
** Gohan and Videl throughout the Great Saiyaman Saga and shippers aren't left disappointed as they become a OfficialCouple before all hell breaks loose in Buu Saga.
*** Before Videl there was PuppyLove between Gohan and a girl called Lime in {{Filler}} and Erasa from Gohan's Highschool who was very attracted to him and even asked him to drive her home, which Gohan politely delcined since he has a flying cloud instead of a car.
** ''Anime/DragonBallSuper'' introduces Trunks and Mai (hopefully you can look pass the fact she's in her forties, though she's been magically reverted to childhood), they even have a KissingDiscretionShot. While Future Trunks and Future Mai are pretty obviously a couple. There's also [[LesYay Caulifa and Kale]] for the YuriFan shippers.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GH-8ljI1B4 Broly and Cheelai]] from ''Anime/DragonBallSuperBroly'' exploded with popularity as soon the movie was released which is not surprising since there's so much appeal in them together. The way Cheelai defends Broly from his abusive father Paragus, the way Broly protects her from a sleazy Frieza soldier hitting on her and the overall Tarzan and Jane vibes. [[spoiler: At the end of the movie Cheelai grows to care about him so much she actually betrays the Frieza Force and uses the Dragon Balls to save Broly getting killed by Gogeta]].
* While [[WordOfGod Narita states]] that he never has and probably never will consider a romantic relationship between Shizuo and Izaya in ''Literature/{{Durarara}}'', he does have a habit of teasing the ship with hints that range from possibly unintentional (Shizuo and Izaya share the same birthdates as ''each other's'' voice actors) to suspect (Izaya says in a Drama CD that he saw Shizuo sleeping once and [[BeautifulDreamer thought he was kinda cute]]) to deliberate (Erika [[ShipperOnDeck ships them together]]), to just plain screwing with the fangirls (he wrote [[http://hi.baidu.com/datacat/blog/item/52c6cbfb1c700b68024f5610.html Shizuo/Izaya porn in an April Fools story]]. [[spoiler:It was actually a fight from the perspective of Erika's [[MistakenForRomance shipping goggles]]]].)
** Even though [[spoiler:he's already with [[TheScrappy Saki]]]], [[StepfordSmiler Masaomi]] got a bit of tease with [[BrokenBird Anri]]--besides her being the only one to see through his [[BeneathTheMask mask]], he [[spoiler:started a gang war to protect her]], and they both get very emotional [[spoiler:upon learning the other's DarkSecret]]. They spend most of the last half of the anime worrying about each other; at the end Anri even wonders whether she had feelings for him.
** Mikado also has a bit of a crush on Anri, frequently [[LuminescentBlush blushing]] and stammering around her. [[EveryoneCanSeeIt A couple of people even flat-out tell him to confess to her]]. [[spoiler: In the sequel series, it is confirmed that they are dating.]]
* In ''Anime/ElementHunters'', not only is there ship teasing between two pairs of characters, one of the pairs is continually commented on by another of the characters.
** While that pair is firmly within SheIsNotMyGirlfriend, the other practically shouts about it while she's standing in front of him.
* ''Manga/Eyeshield21'' teases [[CoolBigSis Mamori]] [[BelligerentSexualTension &]] [[MagnificentBastard Hiruma]], [[TheHero Sena]] [[OneOfTheBoys &]] [[PomPomGirl Suzuna]], [[{{Delinquent}} Rui]] [[SheIsNotMyGirlfriend &]] [[DrillSergeantNasty Megu]], and [[ManipulativeBastard Marco]] [[LoveMakesYouEvil &]] [[EmotionlessGirl Maria]].
* ''Manga/FairyTail'' contains a ''lot'' of ShipTease, in every possible direction. The anime adaptation takes all of that, and then adds EVEN MORE.
** Erza used to shower with Gray and Natsu and cares a lot for them, but is made out to have romantic feelings for Jellal that might be returned. In fact the two might have have shared a kiss before Jellal decides to try (and fail) to [[ShipSinking sink their ship]] for the sake of their happiness. Erza's definitely shared a kiss with Kagura, but how she feels about that one is unclear. [[spoiler:At the end of the manga, it's implied something is happening between Erza and Jellal.]]
** Juvia had a stalker crush on Gray which eventually evolved to the point where something may or may not be going on between them. Juvia also views Lucy as her rival in love, but it's a one-sided animosity and Lucy doesn't seem to want to joust with Juvia over Gray's affections.
** Speaking of Lucy, in addition to her little one sided bit with Juvia, she collects pin-ups of Mirajane, has admitted to having a girl crush on Erza, and has developed a crush on Natsu in an omake when she thought he may have liked him. Natsu should probably move on, since the girl it's heavily implied he had a thing for died two years ago, [[spoiler:or not, now that she's back.]]
*** There's also Loke, who loves to tell Lucy that the power of his love for her is what gives him the ability to protect her.
** Fairy Tail isn't the only guild with some ShipTease. Yukino and Sting of Sabertooth get some major shipping in the spinoff manga, Twin Dragons Of Sabertooth.
** There's also the little bit with Sherry and Lyon of Lamia Scale, which was about as subtle as Juvia's crush on Gray -- or the equally hilarious crush Lyon develops for Juvia -- before Sherry developed another relationship with Ren. In the meantime, Lyon has thought of Meredy as cute, though he still seems to be attracted to Juvia.
** Sherry's crushes are nowhere near as cute on the one Levy harbors for Gajeel, who eventually admits that he feels the same way.
** Although the feelings Bisca and Alzack have for each other are actually confirmed, they CanNotSpitItOut in order to confess to one another (until the time skip, that [[OfficialCouple is]]) and Cana has a crush on Macao.
** On top of all of this, Happy the Exceed [[ShipperOnDeck lives to invoke this trope]], [[TheGadfly always gushing]] "You ''looove'' him/her!" whenever he detects the slightest bit of attraction between two people. Lucy eventually gets to use this against him when he meets female Exceed Carla and [[LoveAtFirstSight falls head over heels]]...
-->'''Lucy:''' You ''loooooooove'' her!
-->'''Happy:''' [[HeyThatsMyLine That's my schtick, copycat!]] And I don't look ''nearly'' as creepy as you when I do it!
* ''Literature/FamiliaChronicleEpisodeLyu'': Lyu flat out acknowledges that Syr has feelings for Bell and feels that it would be rude to ask him to train with her because of it.
* In ''Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar'' due to Yuria's supposed death, Kenshiro/Mamyia get a lot shipteasing especially since Mamyia is ''[[https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTv84IaDlqXS2tHO64xy-lIRCwM77xMBcPCoQ&usqp=CAU the only woman that actually kisses Kenshiro]]'' in the series (though as a ploy). However due to Mamyia's near identical appearance to Yuria, LovingAShadow is invoked meaning whenever Mamyia shows her love for Kenshiro, he becomes pained with memories of Yuria and [[ShipSinking doesn't reciprocate]] her affection. [[spoiler: While Yuria does come back briefly and marries him, Kenshiro and Mamyia can still be FanPreferredCouple at times.]]
** Played straighter with Rei/Mamyia as he swears he'll marry her early on and fights Yuda for honor when he learns she was enslaved... [[spoiler: then Rei dies]].
*** You'd think with both Yuria and Rei [[spoiler: being six feet under]] this would leave Kenshiro and Mamyia free to be together, '''but nope'''.
** Bat and Lin get a lot of this as kids and then they become a OfficialCouple as young adults.
* Each volume of the ''Fluffy, Fluffy Cinnamoroll'' manga has some moments where it's implied that [[PuppyLove Cinnamoroll's friend]] [[SayItWithHearts Mocha has a crush on him]]. While it's never mentioned or out right stated, it's hinted in the first volume when Mocha was the first friend that Cinnamoroll made before meeting the others. Even the official Cinnamoroll merchandise made by Creator/{{Sanrio}} would mostly have [[https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BygZJDuCAAAwU0y.png:large Cinnamoroll]] [[http://mobi-wall.brothersoft.com/files/320240/c/12822907237238.jpg and Mocha together]]. [[NoExportForYou Even the Japan only movie called]] [[http://www.cinemacafe.net/img/template/200709/070907_sinamon_main.jpg "Cinnamon The Movie"]] has a moment where Cinnamoroll first meets his friends. Mocha replies by saying "Cute" and reacts more interested in him compared to his other friends.
* There's not a scene that goes by in ''Anime/{{Free}}'' that doesn't [[HoYay tease a pairing]]. Rin/Haru, Makoto/Haru, and Nagisa/Rei being the most common.
* ''Manga/{{Gangsta}}'' at the start of the series it seems like ex-[[HookerWithAheartOfGold prostitute]] Alex is set up with Worwick since he's the one who ultimately saves her from her pimp Barry and brought her into his business with Nic. Worwick continuously helps her out and flirts with Alex (much to her ire), though Alex does hug Worwick when he's having nightmare-flashbacks to help calm him down. It helps that both Alex and Worwick are sex-workers, as Worwick is a gigolo. [[ShipSinking However]] when Alex (who's going through some PTSD) does actually kiss Worwick and unzips his pants to try and have oral sex with him, Worwick stops her and brings her back to her senses in contrast to his earlier pervy nature. Generally Worwick treats her more [[LikeBrotherAndSister like a younger sister]].
** Alex and Nic on the other hand ''is another story'' and are in fact subtly shipped together from the start, when one of Alex's clients gives her bloodly nose Nic drops her tissue which she holds onto for a long time. Alex becomes frightened of Nic when she discovers he is a "Twilight" (super human) but gets used to him and is bashful when Nic says "She's my woman" on a job as a cover, she also studies sign language to talk to him since he is [[SilentBob deaf]]. Nic also saves Alex’s life mutiple times.
** Alex seems to remind Nic of Veronica, a Twilight girl who used to stay with him and Worwick and at first doesn't like staying in the same as Alex much to her confusion. Nic soon gets ''very'' used her and when Alex is going through withdraws and her hands are shaking, Nic comes out of nowhere and [[https://i.pinimg.com/736x/9b/aa/44/9baa4454909494ae1f374d2b4a39a0e7--alex-x-nicolas-nicolas-brown-gangsta.jpg holds them steady]] Alex even picks up his gloves later and laments ''[[https://static.mangajar.com/pages/3345/267346/e8V8XZfoDABF8lRtnVLHKvOW4pNoE4VUdhimjcDR.jpg they are no longer as warm]]'' as they were when they held her hands.
** Nic seems to enjoy watching Alex (usually without her noticing) when she’s hanging up clothes or from his window in the office, Nic also watches her signing at the club ''even though he can't hear her'' though [[http://68.media.tumblr.com/07cdfc2bfd28999bcd5a5b95881fbbf5/tumblr_ns098q41xT1ra6id4o9_1280.png Alex is leaning on the speakers]] so he is actually feeling the vibrations of her voice... awww.
** When Nic overdoses on [[SuperSerum Celebrer]] and goes frantic to extent where even Worwick can't calm him down but Alex, returning the favor from earlier, calms him down quickly with her touch. Alex also sees Nic as a boy in her horrific FlashBack and realizes she's met him before and it's implied he protected her (or tried to at least) from a rapist Twlight when she was a girl.
** In Chapter 53 [[https://static.mangajar.com/pages/3345/267068/uhn4mN8WCVaEe1gn6B64FVZgWCMYIKFLNcqWolYx.jpg?width=800&quality=100 Nic]] [[https://static.mangajar.com/pages/3345/267068/t6wNqH4OUcAlRyxKyDOix7uiROYLgbnUDjncZXwp.jpg?width=800&quality=100 and Alex]] [[https://static.mangajar.com/pages/3345/267068/12hWmOAsG18amJlmGGYff0EK7NnWkg3Fx52wt5Wt.jpg?width=800&quality=100 have]] [[https://i.pinimg.com/736x/5e/62/6d/5e626d4168f185da8dbc48252e90be7d.jpg a very sweet]] [[https://static.mangajar.com/pages/3345/267068/Vawlt7SMf6yb0nbQ9sRIJmR82cYImPSOA1qzpAmo.jpg?width=800&quality=100 moment]] when she wakes up and reunites with him.
** In Chapter 56 Alex [[https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTTkdBJMb1zuUS3adAVSKAtOOIAgbx4wryIuA&usqp=CAU tries to stroke Nic’s head]] but [[https://img.m1cdn.xyz//4/61c1eb6ff53a9022d8f423f4/61c21356985a5d5c858dedb7/008.jpg he grabs her hand]] to inspect the damage he did to her earlier. [[https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTGvv-HJQZWW7yyD42k4WNH6txd_qFEMVbAvw&usqp=CAU Alex then gets on her knees in front of him and takes off his bandages to nurse his wounds]]. Unfortunately the mood is somewhat ruined when Nic [[ArmourPiercingQuestion asks what she’ll do with herself]] now that she doesn’t have to work for him and Worwick anymore.
* Madarame and Saki get some pretty blatant ShipTease in the ''Manga/{{Genshiken}}'' novel ''Genshiken: Return of the Otaku''. [[spoiler: Saki stays in Madarame's apartment for a night after she sees another woman leaving Kousaka's apartment, leading her to believe that Kousaka is cheating on her. It almost turns into a [[HurtComfortFic Hurt Comfort scene]] before that with Madarame trying to cheer Saki up a bit, AND one of the sections of the book is titled Madarame X Kasukabe.]]
* Official art depicts Ban and Ginji of ''Manga/GetBackers'' in several suggestive poses, one including bondage.
* In the [[SeriousBusiness fishing]] anime ''Manga/GranderMusashi RV'', most of the ShipTease revolved around Musashi's childhood friend Mio. She seemed to get jealous when another girl showed interest in Musashi, and she sings the ending theme with only Musashi being the other character featured during the song. One of the antagonists, who later pulls a HeelFaceTurn, also develops a crush on her and Mio gets some ShipTease moments with him too when she becomes his friend. Musashi's male childhood friend, Suguru, also develops a crush on a girl named BB. She's initially dismissive, but later episodes hinted at the beginnings of romantic reciprocation from her. [[NoHuggingNoKissing No relationship in the series gets beyond teasing, though]].
* ''Anime/GreatPretender'' provides hints of both Makoto having a crush on Abbie and Laurent being attracted to Makoto:
** For Makoto/Abbie, Makoto is DistractedByTheSexy the first time he meets Abbie, when she's [[SexySurfacingShot rising from a pool.]] They're similar in age, too. Much of the Singapore Sky arc shows the two of them growing closer to one another: Makoto is clearly concerned about Abbie, as her PTSD is surfacing and causing her to break down during the job. He's mad about the risks the crew is making her take, and since he stands up for her, Abbie begins to trust him. [[spoiler: He even helps her through her DeathSeeker tendencies and [[RescueRomance dramatically saves her life.]]]] Abbie becomes the closest thing Makoto has to a best friend in Team Confidence, despite her assertions that "We aren't friends, and we aren't family."
** For Laurent/Makoto, Laurent seems to take any excuse he can get to [[NoSenseOfPersonalSpace be close to Makoto]], he calls him by the cutesy nickname "Edamame," and delights in teasing him. Abbie constantly warns Makoto about Laurent [[AllMenArePerverts being a pervert who thinks with "the little head between his legs",]] but since he's never shown chasing skirts, it seems like she's warning Makoto that Laurent is after ''him.'' In the Singapore Sky arc, he both offers [[IndirectKiss his own drink to Makoto]] and tries to get him to [[UmbrellaOfTogetherness share an umbrella with him.]] When Laurent playfully flirts with his compatriot Cynthia, she replies "I thought Edamame was your favorite?" Finally, [[spoiler: the end of the series shows that he's kept the samurai capsule toy that Makoto gave him at the beginning of the series, and he seems to treasure it in the same way he once treasured his lover Dorothy's ring.]]
** Finally, Abbie and Laurent ''both'' share heartfelt moments with Makoto underscored by the same romantic love song: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnYcLtgfO5Q "Our Love".]]
* ''Franchise/{{Gundam}}'':
** The scene late in the second season of ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam00'' where Feldt gives Setsuna a flower in a very shy/embarrassed manner is pretty blatantly tease-y, especially when she wonders if it will make Marina mad and he assures her that [[PlatonicLifePartners they don't have that kind of relationship]].
*** More teasing is given in TheMovie, where it becomes very clear that Feldt is in love with Setsuna. Whether Setsuna returns her feelings is left ''completely'' ambiguous, and if he does, he has no clue how to handle the situation anyway (though he does make a couple of very subtle nice gestures toward her near the end). In the end [[spoiler:it's a moot point since Setsuna disappears to the ELS homeworld for fifty years.]]
** In ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing'', Relena and Heero technically still count as this, although it's a given by now that they will be together in a romantic way at some point in their lives.
*** Trowa and Quatre are a more traditional version of this trope. It began in the original series, starting with their first meeting, including pointed use of the theme song as they 'surrender' to each other, and a spontaneous flute-and-violin duet an episode later as Trowa's Gundam is repaired. It continues with matching {{I Know Youre In There Somewhere Fight}}s that bookend at least five episodes worth of pining on Quatre's side, and ending with a suspicious sort of mind-link between the two culminating in Trowa semi-rescuing Quatre after he was stabbed by Dorothy. The mangas Battlefield of Pacifists and Blind Target only lays the hints on even more thick, and in Frozen Teardrop, they are still very close, do not have any children, and their expy's Quatrine and Trowa Phobos are also being {{Ship Tease}}d.
** ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamSeedDestiny'' sets this up all over the place for Athrun Zala. First, he was set up with Cagalli in the [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSeed previous series]], but they drift apart over the show. Meer is shown to be interested in him, as are Lunamaria and her sister Meyrin, but Athrun has too much else on his mind to be thinking of romance. In the end, when the other two main characters are shown with their respective Love Interests, Athrun is shown with Meyrin (who had previously helped him escape imprisonment and/or death). Whether that means anything is... rather unclear.
* ''Manga/GunslingerGirl'' teases Hilshire/Triela, even though they're an AnchoredShip as Triela is underage. In the anime adaptation ''Il Teatrino'' [[ShipperOnDeck Mimi Machiavelli]] encourages Triela to confess her feelings for her handler, and in the manga chapter "Returning to the Birdcage" she kisses Hilshire while he's passed out, with the angle making it unclear whether it's on the mouth or a [[AnywhereButTheirLips platonic kiss on the cheek]]. Hilshire hooks up with prosecutor Roberta Guellfi however, and Triela [[IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy doesn't kick up a fuss about it]].
* Hayate and Wataru, the two {{Chick Magnet}}s in the ''Manga/HayateTheCombatButler'' manga, get some level of teasing with the main girls who are interested in them. Up to a chapter or so per girl.
** Hinagiku seems to be the only girl who Hayate hasn't seen partly nude (excepting the OAV). She's probably the one who's given the most fanservice though. Hayate is commonly the reason. Somewhere around the later manga chapters Hata seemed to have noticed this trends and decided to reverse it; now only Hayate sees her is various states of undress...rather often if certain lines are to be believed.
*** In a less fanservice-y manner, the two have also been spending much more time together [[spoiler: since Hinagiku is also living at the Violet Apartments for a while]] with Hina being his private tutor for finals and being the one he can go to with his (often bizarre) problems.
** Around the Greece Arc, there was more serious teasing for Nagi/Hayate which has been treated as one-sided on her part for most of the series. Mostly in the form of comparisons to [[spoiler: Hayate's ex-girlfriend Athena]] and considerations for the future. Not much happened with it after Greece although almost a hundred chapters later Hayate [[spoiler: has been considering that he can't be with Nagi forever and it seems to be his motivation to get her right to the inheritance back]].
* ''Anime/HeatGuyJ'' did this in episode 15 with [[DesignatedVillain Clair]] and [[ActionGirl Kyoko]]. Kyoko rescues [[TheHero Daisuke]], and Clair comments "You had to have a woman rescue you? That's so pathetic." But, [[ItMakesSenseInContext the way it's played out]], it's obviously a statement of sour grapes, not something to be taken literally. The anime makes it clear (albeit in a very subtle, backhanded way) that Clair is [[LoveTriangle jealous of Daisuke and admires Kyoko]], [[AnchoredShip but at the same time]], [[ShipperOnDeck isn't going to get in the way of Daisuke x Kyoko.]] And that Daisuke understands all of that.
** Also, in that same episode, after Daisuke destroys or subdues a common enemy, Daisuke and Clair gaze at each other for awhile. And that's it for this pairing. Later on ShipSinking ensues as Daisuke [[spoiler: not only winds up with Kyoko as the hero usually does, but goes off on an adventure in some distant land...alone.]]
* The ''{{Manga/Hellsing}}'' OVA managed some Alucard and Seras teasing (Alucard sitting on her bed when she woke up, Seras commenting on how awesome his large guns are), and though its manga equivalent had less, it was still there. All of that drops after Seras meets Pip Bernodotte, and from then on out, Seras and Pip become an official BattleCouple.
** Alucard and Integra have scores of BelligerentSexualTension, complete with his [[InterplayOfSexAndViolence weird flirting]], her [[{{Tsundere}} tsuntsun rages]], and the whole Count/Countess thing. And the DistantFinale chapter.
** The anime contains far more teasing than the manga. The 1st episode is set up as a Gothic romance style [[BoyMeetsGhoul girl meets vampire]] and they fall in love type of story, but it gets subverted when we Integra at the end of the episode and there is clearly [[BelligerentSexualTension something]] going on between them, based on the bitter and jealous expression she has and the smug smile on his face, while Seras gets ignored. Gonzo, the producers, even said that Alucard/Integra were an OfficialCouple.
** There's also a strange instance of ShipTease between Alucard and ''Queen UsefulNotes/ElizabethII''.
* ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers'' has lots of HoYay ShipTease going on between various characters, and a few for heterosexual pairings as well. See the ''very'' abundant examples [[ShipTease/HetaliaAxisPowers here in this page]].
* ''Manga/HidamariSketch'' [[SliceOfLife of all series]] has Sae x Hiro heavily implied in both intros, though none of it is ever seen during the actual episodes. The manga, on the other hand...
* Putting Keiichi/Mion, and [[strike:[[{{Twincest}} Mion/Shion]]]] Rika/Satoko aside for a moment, there's Keiichi/Rena from ''VisualNovel/HigurashiWhenTheyCry''. Probably the biggest ShipTease was in the last episode of Rei, where Rena [[spoiler:confesses to Keiichi under the influence of [[LovePotion two magatama that work like a love potion]].]]
** As for Keiichi/Mion, there's a whole bunch of it, most noticeably in the Watanagashi-hen arc and in Minagoroshi-hen when [[spoiler:Keiichi finally gives that doll to her, complete with her blushing and Keiichi telling her about how he thinks she really is girl like despite being a tomboy.]] And then there's Miotsukushi-hen which is just packed with Mion/Keiichi ShipTease...
** ''Higurashi Kira'' has a whole episode devoted to ship teasing Keiichi/Mion, Keiichi/Shion, and Keiichi/Rena. The fact that the ending didn't have a romantic resolution and heavily implied Keiichi/Mion didn't help, either.
* ''Anime/TheIdolMaster'': A good portion of the second half of the anime has this with several of the girls, particularly when the girl is the focus of the episode.
* In ''Anime/TheIdolmasterCinderellaGirls'', among 14 idols in Cinderella Project, Shibuya Rin is the girl who is seen spending the most time together with the Producer. They are actually the most popular coupling in the fandom, and there are several incidences that can be interpreted as ShipTease:
** In episode 1, Rin was the idol that the Producer put the most effort trying to recruit, even almost getting arrested in the process.
** In episode 2 and up until episode 9, Rin was the only girl who would enter the Producer's office without any hesitation.
** In an extra clip of episode 3 (called NO MAKE; every episode has it), when she sees Uzuki and the Producer talking, she asks the Producer what they were talking about, and asks him that doesn't he have something he wants to say to her. When he just tells her that she did a great job in the concert, she stutters and quickly leaves.
** In episode 7, one of the key conflicts was the trust issue between Rin and the Producer, and it ended with Producer and Rin holding each other's hands, as a result of Mio pulling them together. Notable in that this is the first and, as of the ending of first half of the series, the only scene where the Producer making physical contact with any of the girls.
** In episode 13, after the concert, the Producer sees Rin standing alone in the stage. After just [[http://i1.ruliweb.daumcdn.net/uf/image/U01/ruliweb/552801E04B20A30032 standing together a bit]], Rin talks about how she felt about the concert and becoming idol. She ends it by smiling at the Producer, telling him that she is glad to having met him.
* A slight tease was present in ''[[Anime/IGPXImmortalGrandPrix IGPX]]'' concerning Liz and Amy. At one point, just before a race where Amy was getting a little jumpy, Liz calms Amy down by hugging her and pressing her forehead to Amy's in a surprisingly intimate gesture, causing both girls to blush. An earlier clip had Liz hugging Amy from behind, while reassuring her that she wasn't alone, again with both girls blushing. This may have been mostly because of Amy's lack of friends prior to the series and thus an enhanced sense of the newness of it all, but it could have been easily taken as the two growing a bit closer even than that. There are even seen photoshopped cels suggesting that the forehead-press was immediately after a kiss. 'Course, by the end of the second season, Liz had confessed her feelings for Takeshi, and Amy unreservedly cheered them on, but one can't help but wonder if Amy might have had a slight crush on Liz after those clips.
* ''Anime/{{K}}'' is absolutely full of it. Especially of the HoYay veriety.
** Main characters Kuroh and Shiro get a spectacular amount. The first time the two meet, Kuroh pulls Shiro close to him during a rescue, all the while Shiro stares St him while blushing. Their interactions are positively full of blushing, romantic framing and suggestive dialog to the point where calling it subtext could be considered putting it lightly.
** Every single interaction between Mikoto and Munakata is so full of BelligerentSexualTension it's hard to believe that it was unintentional. At one point Munakata pins Mikoto to the ground and moves in so close they're nearly kissimg.
** Tatara and Mikoto also seemed to have a very close relationship that feels very ambiguous, especially on Tatara's end.
** Yata and Fushimi. Ooooh boy, Yata and fushimi. The two used to be best friends until joining HOMRA, where Fushimi gradually became a GreenEyedMonster once all of Yata's attent wasn't focused on him. He betrayed HOMRA in hopes of getting Yata's attention back and has become [[StalkerWithACrush creepily obsessed with him]]. Official art does nothing but feed the ship with the most ambiguous of it contains BelligerentSexualTension, all the way up to the point where it wouldn't be hard to mistake them for an OfficialCouple.
*** In their prequel manga, Yata's reasons for wanting to become Fushimi's friend sound far more like someone who has a gigantic crush than anything else. His reasons include being so excited around him he feels like shaking and wanting to see him laugh and smile.
* ''Anime/KaleidoStar'', to rather painful levels:
** Sora/[[NonActionGuy Ken]]: poor Ken has obviously been in love with Sora since episode one and is almost always the one who supports her when things get rough...and her inability to notice his affections becomes a RunningGag.
** [[LesYay Sora/Layla]]: [[spoiler:Sora is the only partner worthy of Layla]].
** Yuri/Sora: Yuri has, on at least two occasions, dashed in and saved Sora from serious injury [[spoiler:and once gave her [[KissOfLife mouth-to-mouth]] (off screen) after she almost drowned (which Sora had a pretty...interesting dream sequence about)]], and Sora had a rather obvious crush on Yuri early on; etc.
** Sora/Leon: Well, let's start with the time [[spoiler:he tackled her in a way that at the ''very least'' resembled an attempt to ''rape her'']]...
** Sora/[[TheLancer May]]: Sprinkled here and there.
* The cover page for Chapter 31 in ''Manga/{{Kingdom Hearts|I}}'' ("A Storm, Love, and a New Beginning") shows [[WesternAnimation/TheLittleMermaid1989 Ursula]] terrorizing the party, as a fearful Ariel embraces Sora. This gives out a clear hint of shipping between the two of them, especially considering that they share a lot in common in both the games and manga.
** As for the cover page for Chapter 40 in ''Manga/KingdomHeartsII'', it's a parody of a film poster for ''Film/{{Tron}}''... but considering Sora takes Yori's place in the poster, many fans began to joke on how close he ''[[HoYay really]]'' is with Tron.
* ''Manga/KimiNiTodoke'' has this in spades; aside from Sawako and Kazehaya, the obvious OfficialCouple, the supporting characters get a fair amount with each other too (Chizu/Ryu most blatantly, but also Ayane/Kent and Ayane/Pin, of all people).
* In ''Manga/LiarGame'', there's basically a continuous ship tease between Nao and Akiyama.
* ''Manga/LuckyStar'' mines a similarly rich seam with Konata and Kagami: the official artwork appearing in Japanese [[TargetAudience bishoujo-centric]] publication ''Megami'' depicts them as being ''very'' close friends. Come to think, a good portion of [[YuriFan yuri ship fuel]] debuted in the same magazine.
** One loose series had them apparently get married and go on a honeymoon...[[spoiler:but the last installment is shown to be just [[YuriFan Hiyori]]'s imagination, [[EpilepticTrees raising the question of whether the previous installments were too]].]]
* ''Anime/MacrossFrontier'' is ''laced'' with ShipTease for Alto x Ranka, Alto x Sheryl, or Alto x [[CargoShip his plane/the sky]]. There's some mild ship teasing between some members of the rest of the cast as well, and someone probably used a couple shots to suggest [[LesYay Sheryl x Ranka]].
** The NonSerialMovie gives us ship teasing of a [[{{Fanservice}} different sort]]: [[ScrewYourself Sheryl x Sheryl]].
* Plenty in ''Manga/MagiLabyrinthOfMagic''.
** Alibaba and Morgiana, especially with Morgiana often [[BridalCarry bridal-carrying]] Alibaba and coming to his rescue and Alibaba calling Morgiana "beautiful" with her blushing afterwards.
** Sharrkan and Yamraiha often bicker LikeAnOldMarriedCouple and Sharrkan immediately gets jealous/uncomfortable when Yamraiha shows interest in another guy, even if it's not romantic in nature.
** [[KissingCousins Kouen and Hakuei]] are noted to be quite close, with Hakuei being able to approach him at ease in his private study.
** Kougyoku stepped into the fray against Aladdin because Ugo had injured Judar.
** There were quite a few moments with Hakuryuu and Morgiana in the Zagan arc. Hakuryuu even ''proposed'' to Morgiana later.
** Alibaba and Kougyoku bonded over that [[spoiler: both their mothers were prostitutes.]] And there's the fact that the Ren family want to have an ArrangedMarriage between them.
** Muu has a BodyguardCrush on Scheherazade and when they first met, they were HoldingHands.
* ''Manga/MajinTanteiNougamiNeuro'' features quite a bit of ShipTease between [[MindGameShip Neuro and Yako]], especially in chapter 201.
* ''Manga/{{MAR}}'': Phantom and Alviss, Alviss has his moments with [[HoYay Ginta]] especially in the anime and Ginta has his moments with Snow and Dorothy. Luckily at the end, he seems to revolve some things with Dorothy, Snow becomes Koyuki but unfortunately, he doesn’t solve anything with Alviss. Also, Dorothy and Nanashi. And Snow and Jack. And Chaton and Alan.
* ''Manga/{{Monster}}'': Tenma and Nina are the most obvious ShipTease, [[MayDecemberRomance in spite of the age difference]], given their apparent care for one another, manifested in occurrences like frequent bouts of cuddling and Nina's more-than-jubilant reaction to hearing Tenma would be coming to visit in the final episode. Though, given flashbacks to their youth and [[UnresolvedSexualTension continued tension]] in their relationship, [[{{Twincest}} Johan and Nina may also qualify as a disturbing ShipTease]].
** [[HoYay Johan]] and [[NoYay Roberto]]. Or Jan Suk x Johan [[spoiler:...in drag as his sister]].
** Even [[FoeRomanceSubtext Johan and Tenma]]. Or Lunge and Tenma, if you want to read more into [[InspectorJavert the former's]] utter obsession with the latter...
* ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'' overall has very little romance, though what little there is tends to be latched onto by fans of the series:
** The [[TheHero protagonist]] Izuku Midoriya and his [[TheHeart closest female friend]] Ochaco Uraraka have this more than any other character with Uraraka being teased by others over her obvious feelings for Deku. Despite her denial at first, she eventually realizes she does have feelings for him, but puts them to the side for now to follow her dream.
** Shota Aizawa/Eraser Head and Emi Fukukado/Ms. Joke seem to possess this, allegedly having a history together. Subverted later when it's clear she's just trying to get him to laugh with [[ContagiousLaughter her Quirk]].
** Denki Kaminari/Chargebolt and Kyoka Jiro/Earphone Jack have a lot ship tease, such as her {{Tsundere}} behavior around him and finding his "whey" form hilarious. [[spoiler:Chapter 263 of the manga confirms the existence of something between the two.]]
** Eijiro Kirishima/Red Riot and Mina Ashido/Pinky have known each other since middle school and are very supportive of each other. She serves as a form of encouragement from his younger years and she was inspired by his "Unbreakable" form to make her own corresponding SuperMode, which she teases him for. [[spoiler:The Paranormal War Arc shows him willing to die for her when he saves her life from Gigantomachia, with her being horrified for his safety and relieved when he makes it out alive.]]
** Shouto Todoroki/Shouto and Momo Yaoyorozu/Creati begin to grow after the End of Terms Exam. Both come from well-known families, have similar backgrounds, and got into UA from recommendations. During the exam, Todoroki even admits that, while he agrees that he is the better fighter, he believes she's far more capable in strategizing. He also admits that he voted for her for class president since he thought she was perfect for the role, which momentarily causes her to blush. Yaoyorozu tends to be the first to show concern for Todoroki more than any other character, such as the incident with the Hero Killer, Todoroki failing the license exam, and his father nearly dying from fighting High-End Noumu.
*** On a CD special of a Ennichi Festival, where Yaoyorozu goes alone wearing a fancy Yukata, Todoroki comments that it looks good on her, making Momo very bashful. The two enjoy the festival together and clearly enjoy each others company. Both Uraraka and Hagakure, who were also there, who learn that the two were at the festival, briefly tease them about the ordeal.
** A small one, but Tamaki Amajiki/Suneater and Nejire Hado/Nejire-chan of the Big 3 are shown to have known each other since the start of school. During the cultural festival, Tamaki looks upon Nejire's performance with a smile on his face while calling her a pure graceful fairy. These words are also enlarged during her performance.
** Tetsutetsu [=Tetsutetsu/Real Steel=] and Itsuka Kendo/Battle Fist of Class B are shown to mutually care and admire one another. [=TetsuTetsu=] even helped her during the Beauty Pageant and smacked Neito for scolding her for losing. In an Omake, when Tetsutetsu heard Kendo calling out to him, he believed she was calling him by his first name (which is ironic since his first ''and'' last name are the same) and turned around blushing trying to gain the courage to call her by her first name, implying he has a crush on her.
* ''Anime/TheMysteriousCitiesOfGold'' was teasing about Esteban and Zia as far as season 1. Teasing was amplified in season 2, where they're shown holding hands and hugging each other fairly often. In the beginning of season 3, Tao has a crush on Zia, but later he seems to fall for Indali.
* ''Anime/{{Noein}}'' easily fits this, with [[EmoTeen Yuu]] and Haruka doing such things as holding hands and promising to run away to Tokyo together. Ai and [[ObliviousToLove Isami]] fit this also, with the former having an obvious crush.
* ''Manga/PandoraHearts'':
** Oz gets shippy moments with his two best friends, Alice and Gilbert.
** Most characters who have ever met, excluding some older chars such as Oscar and [[OlderThanTheyLook Rufus Barma]], get ship-teased at least a tiny bit. (Even the latter of those gets ship-teased incredibly with [[SilverFox Cheryl Rainsworth]].. at least for a while.) In the event they don't get much chance to, it's even sometimes just a case of ThrowItIn, such as Lotti's anime-only [[ItMakesSenseInContext kissing Ada]] or Elliot's admiration of Break as stated in the [[AllThereInTheManual character guide]]. The series is more or less made of ship tease.
** Break and Sharon get a ''shit ton'' of ship tease. Examples include Sharon blushing when physically close to Break, although she should be used to it, considering their history together, and Break's utter fury when [[spoiler: a Baskerville backhands her, sending her flying. He starts to attempt to summon his Chain, despite the fact his body is completely battered and that it's hopeless anyway. Later, he refuses to back down against the Baskervilles even though it puts immense stress on his body, simply because they hit Sharon.]]
* Makoto and Aigis has a plenty of ship moments in ''Anime/Persona3TheMovie'', even more so than its game counterpart as the latter was the only one Makoto is in crush with. [[spoiler:This was enough to make the ending from the fourth movie more reasonable.]]
* ''Anime/Persona4TheAnimation'' has plenty:
** Episode 2 has Chie and Yosuke share a hug. She then knees him in the groin.
** Episode 8 has Yukiko and Narukami hiding in a sleeping bag together. Chie and Yosuke do the same.
** Episodes 9 and 10 has moments that would make Narukami/Rise fans {{Squee}} with joy.
** Episode 15 [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-cfarFnMAg features a tender between Yu and Chie]].
*** Chie also later unleashes Suzuka Gongen when Yu is in danger in a later episode.
** Episode 17 gives a healthy boost to the Naoto/Kanji ship by showing that [[spoiler:[[SweetOnPollyOliver he's still attracted to her]].]] He even gets some floating hearts when talking to the group at Junes.
*** Episode 19 teases this one a lot. Kanji begs Naoto to 'make him a man'. He also gets a nosebleed at the thought of seeing Naoto in a bathing suit, even with Naoto's refusal to come out from behind the curtain [[SeriousBusiness (complete with Kanji getting so excited they show the animation usually reserved for summoning Personae)]]. Earlier in the episode, during the group date, he describes his ideal partner as mysterious, with a strong facade. Now who might that be?
*** Episode 20 also has Kanji blushing and acting awkward and Kanji-ish when Naoto mentions the pageant. Later when Kanji hops into bed with whom he assumes is Chie, Yosuke wonders out loud why he didn't seek Naoto out.
** In the HoYay front, there's Yosuke and Yu. Episode 12 has Yosuke being the one who directly takes Yu out of [[spoiler: Shadow Mitsuo]]'s trap while [[FirstNameBasis switching to calling him by first name]]. Then we have Episode 19 in which [[http://fuefukidouji.tumblr.com/post/17765897585/oh-yosuke-stop-fighting-it Yousuke gets a BIG]] StupidSexyFlanders moment with Yu during the SchoolFestival.
** In the [[Anime/Persona4TheGoldenAnimation Golden anime adaptation]], Yu and Marie are ship teased throughout the ''entire'' anime. Marie is practically Yu's 'canon' love interest here. They even hugged and hold hands at one point.
* Creator/ToeiAnimation is smart about the ''Anime/PrettyCure'' franchise's MultipleDemographicAppeal to {{Yuri Fan}}s. While [[Anime/FutariWaPrettyCure Nagisa]] and [[Anime/FutariWaPrettyCureSplashStar Saki]] had a definite interest in boys, they were never given resolution and had enough screentime for their relationships with Honoka and Mai to be interpreted as a PseudoRomanticFriendship (and, in Saki's case, there was also some FoeRomanceSubtext with [[DarkMagicalGirl Michiru]]). When ''Anime/YesPrettyCure5'' came along, the first {{Official Couple}}s came with it, leaving Karen and Komachi, a pairing supported by a lot of the yuri fanboys, broken up by canon - so, as soon as that was cemented, in came cute shots of the usually standoffish Karen glomping Kurumi in the ending theme. [[spoiler:And if Kurumi turns out to be Milk, there's plenty more where that came from.]]
** Also, from what was seen during episodes 4, 18 and 40 of ''Anime/YesPrettyCure5 GO!GO!'', Syrup and Urara deserve to be mentioned. Their little moments together in those three episodes caused the couple to have a fairly big fanbase, inside and outside of Japan.
* Tezuka and Fuji got this in both the manga and anime of ''Manga/ThePrinceOfTennis''. Most notable were a couple of flashback episodes of the anime in which they held hands, walked under an umbrella together (usually reserved for lovers in anime/manga) and had CherryBlossoms rain down onto them.
* Basically all ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'' media since the original series is this to some degree, featuring the main characters hugging, holding hands, sharing beds, staring into each other's eyes... The opening {{Omake}} of ''[[Manga/PuellaMagiMadokaMagicaTheDifferentStory The Different Story]]'' features Homura suggesting that, to appeal to the fans, they convert the series to a rom-com starring herself and Madoka.
* ''Manga/Reborn2004'' has a lot of ShipTease of both the heterosexual variety (mostly between Tsuna and Kyoko, Chrome and Tsuna, and Chrome and Mukuro) and the HoYay variety (mostly between Tsuna and his male [[UnwantedHarem guardians/friends]] ).
* The plot of ''Literature/RecordOfGrancrestWar'' starts when two strangers meet in a forest and randomly decide "I want to team up with this person to conquer the world". (They've kissed by Episode 9.)
* ''Manga/TheRoseOfVersailles'': The main character Oscar is quite popular, with all the ladies in the court of Versailles regarding her handsome, many men regarding her attractive, and several characters of both genders falling for her. In particular, Oscar is caught in a love triangle between the female Rosalie and male Andre, but in general, there's a LoveDodecahedron going on, especially with romantic interest toward or from Oscar.
** Oscar and Andre's relationship culminates in a [[spoiler:tragic]] ChildhoodFriendRomance.
** Rosalie is flat-out in love with Oscar for a good portion of the series and apparently retains some feelings for her into the DistantFinale. Oscar also appears to return Rosalie's feelings, to an extent.
** Oscar has interest in Fersen who is StarCrossedLovers with Marie Antoinette.
** When Marie first meets Oscar, she mistakes her for a man, and states she prefers Oscar over her betrothed.
** Charlotte also seems to have feelings towards Oscar.
* ''Manga/RWBY2015'': In the official Manga by Shirow Miwa, the chapters recounting the Black trailer are given a small expansion on the end. It flashes forward to post-volume 1, where Blake has just woken up from having dreamed about the events of the trailer. Suddenly, she's interrupted by Weiss and Yang, and Yang is suddenly overloaded by CutenessProximity, gushing over how "even [Blake's] ears are so cute!!", how cool looking they are, how they match Blake's hair and pajamas, and going on about how they both have messy hair in the morning, complete with LuminescentBlush and what almost looks like hearts in her eyes.
* ''Manga/RWBYTheOfficialManga'': The official Bunta Kinami manga.
** While Yang is having a blast taking down an Ursa, Blake says "Ugh... It's hard to tell which is the bloodthirsty beast.", to which Yang responds "Now, now, Blake. Flattery will get you nowhere." Yang's line even has a heart at the end.
** In chapter 7, we are treated to [[AdaptationExpansion an extra scene]] between Ruby, Weiss and Yang following Blake's outburst that outed her as a Faunus, Yang is uncharacteristically quiet and withdrawn and is unsure of what to do, saying how she couldn't let herself chase after Blake, because if she did and learned whatever truth Blake was hiding, it would feel like they could never go back to how things were - greatly {{Foreshadowing}} events to come between them - as a bonus, Yang is holding her left hand throughout the speech, [[CallForward much like she does as a result of PTSD-induced shakes following the events involving Blake at the Fall of Beacon]].
** Chapter 8 has Yang outright [[TheGlomp glomp]] Blake and nuzzle against her when they're reunited, with Yang tearfully holding onto Blake and admonishing her for making her worry.
* ''Manga/RWBYOfficialMangaAnthology'': The anthologies are a manga adaptation of the ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'' web show. They are not official canon (unlike the [[Manga/RWBY2015 Shirow Miwa]] and [[Manga/RWBYTheOfficialManga Bunta Kiwami]] serial mangas), and have heavy focus on Ruby/Weiss in their "Red Like Roses" and "Mirror Mirror" anthologies. Blake's "From Shadows" likewise prominently features Blake/Yang.
** The very first comic begins with Blake falling asleep against Yang's back while the two ride her bike to the beach together. When they reach the beach, Yang carefully fixes Blake's bow when she notices it's a bit disturbed, reiterating how she thinks it's a cute look for her. When Blake begins to express her insecurities over it just being something to cover up her ears, Yang stops her, making sure she knows that she just sees Blake wearing a cute ribbon, not her attempting to hide something away.
** In a comic where Yang learns that Ruby and Blake had been exchanging books as a way to get to know one another better, she asks to participate too, remarking that she'd like to get to know her partner better.
** When Blake seems to be coming down with something in another comic, Yang immediately begins fretting over her, seeming extremely worried when Blake winds up sleeping most of the day away.
** In a story somewhat similar to "Burning the Candle", Yang gets Blake's attention with a laser pointer after noticing her seeming a bit down. She convinces her to skip class with her, going to get some lunch together to take her mind off things..
** A comic where Blake finds an abandoned cat in the rain, and adopts him for a short time ends with them finding a good home for him. Yang notices Blake's sadness over having to give him away, and stays close to comfort her... which gets framed by a rainbow forming above them.
** After losing her ribbon during a training exercise, Blake winds up thinking back to how she'd been worried about people seeing through her disguise when she first came to Beacon, wondering if Yang had when she complimented her on it their first night there; which was the reason she followed her and became her partner in the Emerald Forest. When Yang finds her again, she gives her a flower crown that she'd made to cover her ears until they could find her ribbon again.
** After being invited out to lunch with Sun and Neptune, Blake remarks that she'd like to go again with Yang sometime.
** Noticing that Blake seems to be isolating herself again, training in private, Yang tracks her down, again reassuring her that she can depend on her friends, telling her that she was worried for her. Gets capped off by this gem:
--->'''Blake:''' "If you have time, mind being my training partner?"\
'''Yang:''' "You got it! Should I call Ruby too?"\
'''Blake:''' "No... just you."\
'''Yang:''' "Mm...? [''Blushing, looking almost hopeful''] Are you asking me out...?"\
'''Blake:''' "You are such an optimist."
* Given that {{fanservice}} is the fuel ''AudioPlay/SaintBeast'' runs on, there's abundant ShipTease in all its media. While [[http://www.animepaper.net/art/45413/saint-beast-picture Judas/Shin]] and [[http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee294/KATSUiscute/Saint%20Beast/LucaxRey.jpg Luca/Rey]] and the one-sided [[http://www.animepaper.net/art/95424/saint-beast-picture Shiva/Judas]] can reasonably be called canon, fans can easily find evidence for HoYay between [[http://www.animepaper.net/art/117638/saint-beast-card Judas/Luca]], [[http://www.animepaper.net/art/59536/untitled Kira/Maya]], [[http://www.animepaper.net/art/93897/saint-beast Gai/Maya]], [[http://www.animepaper.net/art/59346/untitled Goh/Gai]], [[http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/453175 Goh/Saki]], [[http://www.animepaper.net/art/94215/saint-beast Goh/Judas]], [[http://www.animepaper.net/art/94139/saint-beast-picture Goh/Shin]], [[http://www.zerochan.net/83903 Shin/Shiva]], [[http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/351090 Shin/Rey]], [[http://www.animepaper.net/art/93175/saint-beast Kira/Rey]], [[http://www.animepaper.net/art/49453/siva%EF%BD%A5pandora Pandora/Shiva]], [[http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/453174 Zeus/Pandora]] (give or take Cassandra), Zeus/Lucifer, [[http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/497405 Zeus/Judas]], Lucifer/Judas, Judas/Kamui and others.
* In ''Manga/{{Saiyuki}}'', there's quite a bunch of teases about the Hakkai/Yaone pairing. Whenever the group fights, they get pitted together, they're counterparts to each other, and most importantly, Yaone herself looked like Hakkai's deceased lover Kanan. Lots of shipping generated from these, but eventually it gets featured less and less for the sake of HoYay, probably the ship has sunk already...
* In ''Anime/SamuraiChamploo'', either Fuu and Jin, or Fuu and Mugen, or both, depending on your point of view, neither of which actually materialize, to the deep disappointment of some fans.
* ''Anime/ScienceNinjaTeamGatchaman'' liked to do this with Ken and Jun once every blue moon, but when it came to America as ''Anime/BattleOfThePlanets'', the writers did all they could to suggest a romantic connection between Mark and Princess without actually making them an OfficialCouple (that they actually became at the end of Gatchaman Fighter).
* ''Manga/SeraphOfTheEnd'' isn't shy about teasing Yuu with his comrades, male and female, especially his childhood friend [[HoYay Mika]].
* ''Anime/SK8TheInfinity'': The relationship between Reki and Langa is ''rife'' with romantic overtones. They have more than one extremely gentle HeldGaze with one another, AfterActionPatchUp where they tend to each other's cuts after they do the likes of escaping the cops, Langa realizing that Reki is the reason his heart beats so fast when he skates, and numerous {{Unreveal}}[=s=] where the two trail off on ''something'' when they CannotSpitItOut. At the end of the series, it all culminates in [[spoiler:Langa leaping off his skateboard as he's a fraction from winning right into Reki's arms, only for them to collapse in a heap due to Reki being unprepared for it... and, at the end, Langa expressing one more time that Reki is his ImpliedLoveInterest, though it's within his mind.]]
* Filia and Xellos from ''Literature/{{Slayers}}'' would have ''classic'' BelligerentSexualTension...if weren't for the fact that's he's a Mazoku who feeds on negative emotions and shouldn't have the ability to love. That's not going to stop the shippers, especially considering ''Slayers Try'' is filled with moments that were obviously intended to ''look'' shippy, even if that is canonically impossible. The two most obvious moments would have to be when Xellos rescues Filia by picking her up in his arms (and then...drops her on top of the bad guy) and later when he's injured and she helps him, which results in them spending almost an episode practically cuddling.
** Whereas the attraction between Lina and Gourry is obvious, there's quite a bit of teasing for [[TheStoic Zelgadis]] and [[ThePollyanna Princess Amelia]], and it fleshes out during more dangerous situations. One of the best instances is during the end of the second anime season; [[spoiler:Amelia is murdered as a part of a ploy by Hellmaster Fibrizo, and Zelgadis [[RoaringRampageOfRevenge loses it.]] Earlier that episode, he carries her through a tunnel, leaving her flustered.]] Their relationship is ambiguous and varies between mediums, but an attraction is there: whereas the original novels have almost no teasing, the manga adaptation of the fifth anime season makes it clear that Amelia is at least smitten with Zelgadis, [[spoiler:judging by her reaction of his FaceHeelTurn.]]
* Despite Sega's stance on the whole thing, ''Anime/SonicX'' had ship teasing moments towards Sonic and Amy to the point where, at the end of episode 52 (which was supposed to have been the end of the series), had a returning Sonic present Amy a flower with the latter demanding him to just say something about them. He does...but it's silenced out, so it's unknown what he said.
** In comparison to the games (barring their first encounters in ''VideoGame/SonicAdventure2''), Knuckles and Rouge are much more personable here (although, like the source material, it's dipped in BelligerentSexualTension). Rouge constantly flirts with Knuckles ([[LuminescentBlush complete with the expected reaction]]), the two team up somewhat frequently, and the latter half of the series has them assume some degree of greater intimacy; it's even implied in Ep. 52 that the two share a kiss off-screen (or, in English, she playfully tickles him). Rouge also gets more than a fair bit of this [[LesYay with Topaz]], her (''human'') [[HeterosexualLifePartners BFF and partner/affiliate at GUN]].
** There are also hints between Vector and Vanilla, with Vector having a crush on Vanilla.
* From ''Manga/SoulEater'' we have any weapon/meister team. All weapons live with their meisters, the teams are usually male/female, and due to the way soul resonance works, are soulmates. However, the main characters [[FanPreferredCouple Maka and Soul]] are especially notable, due to the sheer amount of protectiveness they have towards each other. Though WordOfGod is that most of these relationships will remain platonic.
** There are also some teases between Eruka the frog witch and Free the werewolf.
** In the manga, after Soul [[spoiler:becomes a Death Scythe]], a number of girls request to partner with him, both in person and in letter form. These are treated exactly like standard love confessions and love letters. And this clearly bothers Maka.
*** On the subject of weapon/meister romance, it's somewhat alluded to that the previous generation had a lot of partner romance going on. Stein was apparently Marie's "first love", though it's not clear they were actually partners until Marie's debut in the series. Along with her established crush on him, Marie is shown to be dedicated to Stein [[MoralityPet no matter what he does]]. [[spoiler: By the end of the manga, Marie is pregnant with Stein's child]]. There is also possibly a case for Stein and Spirit, considering their more interesting moments (at the end of the anime, they light their cigarettes by touching tips) and it makes sense the world's greatest meister would get so close to his weapons.
** Medusa and Stein. Medusa flat out says she's in love with Stein after he cuts her in half! And in the anime, Medusa pulls off a very complex and risky plan for herself to get in the DWMA headquarters and when Stein tries to interrogate her, she flirts with him and says she did it to be able to speak with him again. Being [[ManipulativeBitch Medusa]], that's not her only motive, but... [[spoiler: Then, when Marie breaks him out of his madness, Medusa goes mad with rage.]]
** In the Salvage arc, [[spoiler:upon entering the book of Eibon]], everyone's gender is reversed, but altered in order to take the form of whatever interests them in the opposite sex. Soul as girl has a resemblance to Maka, even down to the flat-chestedness, but Maka's male form is a bit unremarkable, having rather flat hair compared to her weapon partner. Cue Soul Eater Not! Chapter 23, in which we see Soul stumbling around his and Maka's apartment looking for hair gel. Guess what his hair looks like unstyled?
** Chapter 105 featured Maka teasing Black Star for all the times he's saved her, saying that it must be because he likes her. Cue the following chapter in which not only does Black Star [[spoiler:intercept a blow from Chrona for Maka]], but [[spoiler:Chrona]] calls Black Star out on Maka being 'his weak point'.
** In the final episodes of the anime, Maka ditches her main mission of fighting against Arachne to come to [[RescueRomance Crona's rescue]], and Crona [[spoiler: takes a killing blow meant for Maka]] which drives her into a berserk rage that almost overwhelms Soul completely.
** The first "Repeat Show" ending theme is pretty much nothing but {{Ship Tease}}s between the protagonists; Maka's looking for Soul (who's apparently missing), Black Star is sleeping with his head on Tsubaki's lap and she's smiling fondly at him, Kid smirks when he overhears Liz and Patty talking (presumably about him) and Crona looks back on Maka giving them a CooldownHug with a smile on their face. This is all set to an extremely soft, romantic sounding song.
** ''Manga/SoulEaterNot'' also has a fair bit of ShipTease between the protagonist, Tsugumi, and nearly every other character. For instance, the small fight between who among Anya and Meme is going to be Tsugumi's partner is treated like a legit love triangle, with all three girls interacting in a LesYay fashion. Not to mention there is another meister, Akane, who is usually flirting with Tsugumi even though it's hard to tell at this point whether or not his interests are legit.
* It's pretty amazing how in ''Manga/{{Spiral}}'', there's really only one OfficialCouple but at least ten times as much ship tease.
* The anime adaptation of ''VisualNovel/SteinsGateZero'' confirms that Mayuri loves Okabe romantically, and that she knows her feelings aren't requited.
* The creators of ''Anime/TigerAndBunny'' have been teasing Kotetsu and Barnaby as being more than HeterosexualLifePartners with increasing frequency and intensity [[note]]including one statement that, had they been a man and a woman, they would have fallen in love ''within the first episode''. The fact that it turns out Barnaby bears some noticeably similar traits to Kotetsu's late wife ''does not help in the slightest.''[[/note]]
** It's now reached the point where the [[WordOfGod creators have said]] it's reasonable to interpret their relationship as either a Bromance or a romantic one.
** Interestingly enough, there was a moment between Agnes and Barnaby when he saves her from kidnappers in episode 9. There was clearly a long moment when she couldn't take her eyes off him and he was awfully close to her.
* In ''Anime/{{Trigun}}'', Vash and Meryl gets frequent shipteasing with her being a {{tsundere}} for the most part, until she begins to fall in love with him and chases after Vash ignoring the fact he's a WalkingDisasterArea who loses his loved ones often. When separated from Vash, Meryl gets notably very depressed and she also had a very telling reaction to his ShirtlessScene. Later on when Vash gets over his HeroicBSOD, [[https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT0D7jNRRsZxW9iww4z8bPKeXaFb3oypGgr72bLU-YkYRdRzxL9h-QiR4TgLQ he surprisingly gives Meryl a big hug]] causing her to get a LuminescentBlush and for Milly [[ShipperOnDeck to be delighted]].
** Speaking of Milly she and Wolfwood get some shipteasing in the anime and even SleepCute moment. [[spoiler: This becomes more heartbreaking as Wolfwood dies and Millie is a sobbing mess.]]
* Ami and Sasaki from ''Manga/UzakiChanWantsToHangOut'' are VitriolicBestBuds most of the time, but they get a bit of this in Chapter 88. During Valentine's Day, Ami gives Sasaki a gift bag of chocolate as part of the cafe's customer service, but she also gives him an extra box as a way of thanking him for helping her out. Sasaki spends a couple of panels looking at the box with a contemplative expression on his face, and decides he'd better not let his friend [[CrazyJealousGuy Sasamoto]] know about it, lest he gets the wrong idea.
* ''Manga/VenusVersusVirus'' is full of this between Lucia and Sumire, especially in the first few volumes. For example we have Lucia breaking down and falling asleep in Sumire's arms in volume 2.
* ''Manga/WanderingSon'' had one for the FanPreferredCouple in a chapter after they enter high school. Chiba and Takatsuki are mistaken for a couple by two kids, who like them respectively [[ShipSinking but are stated to get married to each other in several years]].
** Anna and Nitori had quite a lot inbetween [[spoiler:them breaking up and them getting back together]], such as Anna having a fit when Nitori [[ItMakesSenseInContext undresses in front of her]] and when she gave her a ring.
** The anime includes a scene between Makoto and Saori, despite the former explicitly only liking boys, after they do a play together.
* ''Manga/YoureUnderArrest'' has always been infamous in having "official" posters depicting their main lead HeterosexualLifePartners in various states of undress, hugging, caressing, etc. The new series [=ED=] really amps this up, causing shippers' heads to explode. They know nothing will amount to it, but it's so very pretty...
* ''Franchise/YuGiOh'':
** The original ''Anime/YuGiOh'' series:
*** There is the odd dynamic of Anzu crushing on Yami (Yugi's "alter-ego") and Yugi crushing on Anzu, not to mention plenty of Jonouchi/Mai.
*** Anime original character [[ChildProdigy Rebecca]] develops a PrecociousCrush on Yugi after their duel, and while this mostly plays as a joke, Yugi never really rejects her advances. It also serves as a tease for Yugi x Anzu, with Anzu's [[ClingyJealousGirl reaction]] to the whole thing despite her being more interested Yugi's alter-ego.
** ''Anime/YuGiOhGX'' is, while (initially) relatively tame, not free of this.
*** [[TheHeart Asuka]] started getting teased with [[TheHero Juudai]] from the moment she met him, but, to the fans' disappointment, [[AllLoveIsUnrequited it was mostly only on her end]] and [[ShipSinking the ship was ultimately sunk]].
*** Season 3 brought in Johan and his… [[HomoeroticSubtext questionably close friendship]] with Juudai, to the point that Juudai's official LoveInterest, [[StalkerWithACrush Yubel]], felt ''threatened'' by him. Ultimately, [[ShipSinking Johan/Juudai was also sunk]] after Juudai and Yubel reconciled at the end of Season 3.
** ''Anime/YuGiOh5Ds'':
%%*** Episode 75. [[http://fc02.deviantart.com/fs22/f/2009/252/e/4/now_THIS_is_FANSERVICE_8D_by_stardustdragonfan.jpg Period.]]
*** A guy (namely Crow) bringing a girl (namely Aki) a cup of coffee in an episode is innocuous. A guy bringing a girl a cup of coffee during ''the trailer for the episode'' is ShipTease, especially when followed by a RoaringRampageOfRevenge on the villains who put her in a coma. However things play out in the future, the reactions will be as interesting to watch as the show.
*** There just IS something between Yusei and Sherry, with her obviously flirting with him right at their first encounter and him dreaming of her right afterwards. Then there was that dramatic scene when [[spoiler: they traveled to another dimension and accidentally, Sherry was sucked outside of their [[BuffySpeak space-traveling machine thing]]. Yusei jumped after her death-defyingly, grabbed her hand and desperately tried to not let go of her until she slipped away and he screamed after her in a pretty distressed fashion. Apart from that an equally dramatic shot in the recent ending is featuring them, probably based on mentioned scene, with them reaching out for each other]], and the vision of them flying through the World Of Speed together...[[OutOfClothesExperience nakedly]]...
*** Yusei and Aki get ''a lot'' of this after her befriending him. As he's going as far as helping her prepare for her driving exam by helping her skate and she's never done it before, Leo and Luna both suggest that was a date. Martha and Crow even tease them both knowing they like each other. At the end of the series, she prepares to leave for medical school and was heavily blushing looking like she was going to tell him how she truly felt, but stopped knowing it would hold her back. Considering how they held hands and she closed her eyes in that moment they looked at each other, it's heavily implied they shared a kiss. The series officially ends without them getting together, but she vows she will reunite with him someday and tell him properly her feelings.
*** The [[CrackPairing unlikely]] pair of [[TheRival Jack]] and [[CuteClumsyGirl Carly]] are teased from their first meeting; while he is initially annoyed by her, he eventually grows to care deeply for her, and vice versa. If it isn't Carly letting him stay at her house or giving him a RousingSpeech that snaps him out of his HeroicBSOD, it's Jack attending an amusement park he hates to make her happy or [[ItsNotYouItsMyEnemies leaving her for her own safety]]. Ultimately everything culminates into [[spoiler:a DyingDeclarationOfLove [[DiedInYourArmsTonight in his arms]] as he [[PleaseDontLeaveMe begs her not to leave him]]]].
** ''Anime/YuGiOhZEXAL'' establishes Yuma/Kotori right away and sticks with it despite a few side characters (Cathy and Anna) crushing on Yuma as well. In the end, Kotori is able to say her LoveConfession to Yuma, although his flustered reaction is rather ambiguous and he remains focused on Astral.
** While there were some moments in the original, the ''Anime/YuGiOhVRAINS'' English dub injects a lot more ship tease for Yusaku and Aoi, with Yusaku saving her, then stammering that she's not that special. Ghost Gal is even a ShipperOnDeck for the two, teasing Aoi that she's eager to see Playmaker again on their mission to find the Ignis.
* Van and Fiona had quite a lot of teasing moments in ''Anime/ZoidsChaoticCentury''; too bad nothing really came out of it.
* ''Anime/ZombieLandSaga'': [[Characters/ZombieLandSagaFranchouchou Ai Mizuno and Junko Konno]], an already [[OneTruePairing popular fan pairing]], get a ton of time together in Season 2 where it's hinted that Junko has a crush on Ai. This includes Junko getting really emotional when [[spoiler:it seems Ai might leave their group]], then the two having a very emotional reunion with each other including HeldGaze, hand holding, and Junko defending Ai from [[spoiler:her potential recruiter]]. Overall, their dynamic is much more intimate than what the other main girls have shown together.
