''Noel's Christmas Presents'' is a TV show that has run since 1989 on Creator/{{BBC}}1, and 2007 on [[Creator/{{Sky}} Sky One]], presented by Noel Edmonds, and is known for its heartwarming moments, giving gifts to those who help others either in a voluntary capacity, for charity, or have suffered illness/bereavement or are in dire straits financially.

An annual fixture on the British schedule, it takes the VerySpecialEpisode concept up to eleven and went on hiatus temporarily, returning to Sky One in 2007, and then it was about to ChannelHop again, although production company Twofour didn't say ''which channel'' it will move to, but there was speculation it would be on Creator/Channel5, since Sky ended their contract to broadcast it.
----
!! This show provides examples of:
%% * ADayInTheLimelight: This show gives people a day in the limelight. More of a LimelightSeries.
* AnAesop:
** At Christmas, there is ''always'' someone much needier than you or has suffered worse.
** "It's ok to want something, but you should be patient instead of expecting to get something right away"
%% * AnonymousBenefactor: This is [[ZigZaggedTrope zig-zagged]], until TheReveal that it's Noel at the end of the footage.
%% * AssumedWin: To much embarrassment.
%% * BatmanGambit
%% * BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: In a ''good'' way, so an InvertedTrope.
* TheBoxingEpisode: In 2010, this series covered Gordon and Suzanne Haigh, who ran a boxing centre for children in Hull.
%% * BrokenAesop
%% * {{Camp}}: The level of campness varies, but it gives Music/LadyGaga a run for her money (well, the stage shows anyway). It went a little bit more camp in 2008.
%% * CharityBall
%% * ChekhovsBoomerang: Related to something in the nominee's past.
%% * ChekhovsGun: Something in each story featured on the show is this.
%% * ChristmasMiracle: For every individual ever featured on the show.
%% * CompanionShow: ''Noel's Christmas Presents Re-opened'', a WhereAreTheyNowEpilogue.
* ContinuityReboot: From 2007 the TitleSequence and theme music changed, and it became studio-bound; contrast it with Creator/TheBBC era of location filming and "shaky-cam" effect, unlike the new HD-esque film from 2007 onwards.
%% * ContrivedCoincidence: It relies on this.
%% * DarkerAndEdgier: From 2007 onwards, when it appeared on Sky One, the focus became more about the BackStory of the individual. As of 2011, it became ''even more'' darker and ediger.
%% * EarnYourHappyEnding: Precisely the show's USP (unique selling point).
%% * GambitRoulette: [[spoiler:This is how Noel works his magic.]]. It's also how some individuals try to '''"get"''' stuff for people by appearing on this show.
%% * GenreSavvy: On this show, it's unavoidable since the ReTool of 2007 at participant level.
%% * TheGreatestStoryNeverTold: This is one of the defining features of the show.
%% * TheHerosJourney: Everyman heroes, and people with serious illnesses.
%% * HonestJohnsDealership:
%% * HospitalityForHeroes: This is the British TropeCodifier for this trope.
%% * IJustWantToBeSpecial: Unintentional consequence from the 2007 series.
%% * TheInfiltration: PlayedforLaughs with Noel's disguises - when he uses them.
%% * IWishItWereReal: In a ''good'' way, this happens, given the show's nature.
%% * JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Some of the individuals
%% * KarmicJackpot: For the recipients ''since they don't know about the nomination'', but a possibility of BrokenAesop comes into play; as the possibility of a great reward undermines the lesson about selfless actions.
%% * LampshadeHanging: Sometimes in the show.
%% * LimelightSeries: This show.
%% * LittlestCancerPatient: More than one, and {{Lampshaded}} in the 2008 episode. Also, Andrea Thompson, who is well-known in North-East England for her fundraising for these.
%% * LowerDeckEpisode: A whole anthology's worth of them!
* LongRunner: It's been around since 1980's and it's still on air.
* MeaningfulName: ''Noel'' Edmonds, on a Christmas show. Noel means Christmas in French.
%% * MiseryBuildsCharacter: This show treats it as AnAesop.
%% * MistakenForEvidence: A frequently InvokedTrope from 2008 onwards.
%% * MistakenForSpecialGuest: This is an InvokedTrope in the show.
%% * MundaneLuxury: Certainly, some things are to the individuals on this show, seen in the 1995 and 2007, 2009 and 2010 episodes.
%% * NoodleIncident: Since 2007, this trope has become a JustForFun/TropesOfLegend in-show, as some incidents that happened off-screen have been mentioned frequently.
%% * NoAntagonist: Proof that Administrivia/TropesAreNotBad. In fact, it's a conflict-free show.
%% * NoSuchThingAsBadPublicity: Invoked by fundraisers on the show, unintentionally.
%% * ObfuscatingStupidity: Seems to be part of the show anyway.
%% * OpinionChangingDream: Part of the show's USP (Unique selling point).
%% * ProductPlacement: From 2007 onwards. As of 2011, [[http://www.ofcom.org.uk Ofcom]] ''now permits this''.
%% * PunctuatedForEmphasis: More so, from 2007 onwards, anyway.
%% * RealityTV: It's a crossover with a documentary-style.
%% * RealityTVShowMansion: Theatres used since the 2007 ReTool.
%% * RefugeInAudacity:
%% ** [[spoiler:How Noel manages to get people's once-in-a-lifetime gifts]].
%% ** The fact of ''how'' some people will nominate others.
%% ** An ongoing web campaign ''to find people'' for the 2012 one.
* ReTool: From 2007 the TitleSequence and theme music changed, and it became studio-bound; contrast it with Creator/TheBBC era of location filming and "shaky-cam" effect, unlike the new HD-esque film from 2007 onwards.
%% * SantaClaus
%% * SecretTestOfCharacter
%% * SurpriseSantaEncounter: Not ''literally'', but metaphorical.
%% * SweetAndSourGrapes
%% * TallPoppySyndrome: Averted ''big-time''.
%% * TrueCompanions: This show has proved it in many ways over the years.
* VerySpecialEpisode: This series is a show that thrives on this trope since it highlights society's less privileged or dedicated individuals.
%% * WantingIsBetterThanHaving: This is [[InvertedTrope inverted]] and {{Lampshaded}} by the individuals.
%% * WhamEpisode: It certainly is for the participants and their nominators.
%% * WhereAreTheyNowEpilogue: covered by the CompanionShow ''Noel's Christmas Presents Unwrapped''.
