''Kamen Rider Blade'' (''Masked Rider ♠'') is the 2004-2005 series of ''Franchise/KamenRider'' and the fifth installment in the Heisei Era.

Ten thousand years ago, [[ThereCanBeOnlyOne a massive battle royale]] took place between the immortal Undead monsters, each one representing a species of creature on Earth. The Human Undead was the victor, and as a result the human race was allowed to multiply and populate the Earth as its dominant species. Meanwhile, the losing Undead were [[SealedEvilInACan sealed into cards]] to slumber for eternity.

Fast forward to the present day. The Undead have been released from their confinement and have started a new battle royale for dominance over the Earth. To counteract this, the secret organisation BOARD has created the [[TransformationTrinket Rouse Card System]] and recruited two individuals- [[TheHero Kazuma Kenzaki]] and [[TheLancer Sakuya Tachibana]]- to seal the Undead on behalf of the human race by [[FusionDance merging with Sealed Category Ace Undeads]] to become Kamen Riders. Kenzaki merges with the Sealed Category Ace of Spades to become Kamen Rider Blade, while Tachibana uses the Sealed Category Ace of Diamonds to transform into Kamen Rider Garren.

Unfortunately, BOARD is swiftly destroyed by an Undead attack and Kenzaki finds that Tachibana has apparently [[WasItAllALie betrayed the human race]]. A second opponent is found in [[TheRival Hajime Aikawa]], an [[BewareTheNiceOnes introverted photographer]] who hides a deadly secret: he is actually an Undead who can use the Sealed Category Ace of Hearts card to transform into Kamen Rider Chalice without the use of an external Rouzer device. The quartet of Riders is completed with Mutsuki Kamijo, who is chosen by the Sealed Category Ace of Clubs card to become Kamen Rider Leangle, only to have the evil Spider Undead sealed within [[{{Brainwashed}} slowly take over his mind]] and create a new, deadly enemy.

The show's slogan, "Now your power is at its peak", is a reference to a comment made by one character in regards to titular character Kazuma Kenzaki: that he reaches his maximum potential as Blade when he is fighting to protect others.

Partnered with the ''Franchise/SuperSentai'' show ''Series/TokusouSentaiDekaranger'' after initially airing alongside the final episodes of ''Series/BakuryuuSentaiAbaranger'' in the ''Series/SuperHeroTime'' block.

In addition to the main series, ''Kamen Rider Blade'' has two spinoffs. ''Kamen Rider Blade: Blade vs. Blade'' is a DVD episode that was distributed by ''Magazine/TeleviKun'' magazine, where Blade faces off with an EvilTwin. ''Film/KamenRiderBladeMissingAce'' is a NonSerialMovie set a few years after an alternate ending to the series.

''Series/KamenRiderOutsiders'' continues Sakuya Tachibana's story, after nearly two decades of suit-only cameos and AlternateTimeline portrayals.

Followed by ''Series/KamenRiderHibiki''.

----
!!Recurring ''Kamen Rider'' tropes include:
* BigBad: [[spoiler: Hiroshi Tennoji. He [[DiscOneFinalBoss isn't the final villain]], but he was the one who unsealed the Undead and manipulates events from behind the scene the entire series, all in an attempt to become a God and rule the world.]]
** [[spoiler: Junichi Shimura[=/=]Kamen Rider Glaive[=/=]]]Albino Joker in the movie.
* MidSeasonUpgrade: Jack Form
* MultiformBalance: With the exception of Leangle, all of the Riders have at least two forms. And even then Leangle gets Jack Form in the manga and S.I.C. toyline.
** JackOfAllStats: Blade, Garren and Chalice's Ace Form.
** LightningBruiser: Leangle's Ace Form
** GlassCannon: Blade and Garren's Jack Forms.[[note]]The latter's also counts as his SuperMode.[[/note]]
** SuperMode: Blade's King Form and Chalice's Wild Form.
* WeaponSpecialization: All the Riders have their own weapons, usually their Rouzers (except for Chalice, whose Rouzer is only used to activate attacks but can't be used as a weapon on its own).
** CoolSword: Kazuma/Blade is armed with the Blay Rouzer and King Rouzer, both swords. Junichi/Glaive uses a modified version of the Blay Rouzer, the Glaive Rouzer.
** Handguns: Sakuya/Garren is armed with the Garren Rouzer, a high-tech gun.
** Mutsuki/Leangle is armed with the Leangle Rouzer, an extendable staff weapon with a clover-shaped spearhead. Shin/Lance uses the Lance Rouzer, a spear.
** TheStraightAndArrowPath: Hajime/Chalice is armed with the Chalice Arrow, a longbow. Natsumi/Larc is armed with the Larc Rouzer, a crossbow.
** SinisterScythe / DualWielding: Hajime/Chalice again - when he's in Wild Form, he gets the Wild Slasher, which can be split into two kama.
** {{BFS}}: Kazuma/Blade again in [[spoiler:King Form, with its King Rouzer.]]

!!Trope Up!
* AGodAmI: Hiroshi Tennōji
* AlienBlood: Undead bleed green.
* AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs: The series has a unique case as this happened ''in the first episode''.
* ArtificialHuman: [[spoiler:Yoshito Hirose]].
* AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance: the girlfriend of Hajime's IdenticalStranger is the heiress to a ''taiyaki'' or fried-fishcake empire... who has Denise Richards-worthy fishlips.
* BackToCameraPose: The second opening ends with the four Riders standing and looking at the sea after walking away from the camera, then their human forms are replaced by their Rider forms, still gazing at the sea.
* BadGuysDoTheDirtyWork: [[spoiler:Tennoji is beaten, but the Riders don't want to kill him, despite him still being a major threat, because he's defenseless at the moment. Kanai is more than happy to do it for them.]]
* BatmanGambit: [[spoiler:Used to defeat the Titan Undead. It'd been impersonating the group the entire time, making them unsure of who they could trust and making it hard to find. Hajime seemed to lose control and assume his Joker form and Kenzaki seemed to be unable to finish him. So the Titan emerged to try and finish the Joker himself, only to be caught by Garren and Leangle. Hajime returns to human form and reveals that was what they were hoping for. He only ''pretended'' to lose control and Kenzaki pretended to be unable to stop him so the Titan, who as an Undead fears the Joker and wants him done away with, would try to finish him itself, walking right into their trap.]]
* BatOutOfHell: Bat Undead/Garren's 8 of Diamonds Scope Bat.
* BearsAreBadNews: Polar Undead/Leangle's 6 of Clubs Blizzard Polar.
* BecomingTheMask: Hajime, who [[spoiler:assumed the appearance of the Human Undead and found himself enjoying his new life]].
* BeeAfraid: Bee Undead/Leangle's 2 of Clubs Stab Bee.
* BittersweetEnding:
** [[spoiler:Hajime is allowed to live on as a human, but the Sealing Stone still exists which means Kenzaki must keep as far away from Hajime as possible.]] Might also sort-of qualify as a DownerEnding.
** TheMovie has an even more bittersweet one. [[spoiler:The Albino Joker is killed, but at the cost of Hajime making a HeroicSacrifice.]]
** Series/KamenRiderZiO also makes it more bittersweet when [[spoiler: Kenzaki and Hajime end up being forced to finally fight each other due to the show's time traveling shenanigans, [[RippleEffectProofMemory which they're pretty much immune to in their case,]] [[ItMakesSenseInContext allowing them to stay Riders in the present.]]]] It gets better however, as [[spoiler:both Kenzaki and Hajime's Joker powers end up being simultaneously sealed in Ridewatches, forever keeping the battle royale in a stalemate while reverting them into pure humans and taking away their need to avoid each other anymore.]]
* BlackSpeech: The language of the Undead.
* BookEnds: The decks have these. The King Undeads are all bigger, badder versions of the corresponding Ace. For instance, the ace of clubs is a spider, the king is a tarantula.
* {{Brainwashed}}: Mutsuki, falling under the influence of the Spider Undead.
* CantCatchUp: Kamen Rider Leangle, touted as the 'strongest Rider' early into his debut, lived up to that at first, but became woefully outclassed when the others got their {{Super Mode}}s. He ''tried'' to catch up, but never did. Though it should be noted that he never quite falls so far behind that he's useless, which ironically shows how his Ace Form was indeed the strongest.
* CardsOfPower: Has elements of this: each Undead is sealed into a card that can then be slashed through a Rouzer to activate the card's special powers. Using certain cards in succession would activate a Rider's FinishingMove.
* ChekhovsGun: The password for the BOARD computer, "Double Joker".
* CookingDuel: For a little [[{{Pun}} added flavour]], this one was takoyaki[[note]]Toasted pastry balls with chunks of octopus[[/note]] vs taiyaki[[note]]Toasted fish-shaped waffles usually with jam[[/note]], scored by customer sales.
* CreationMyth: The series revolves around the Battle Fight, a free-for-all battle royale which started 10,000 years ago when God created the Undead in the form of the a stone slab called the Monolith. Each represented a different species, and if one of the main 52 won, the victor's species would inherit the Earth, while if the Joker won, all life would be destroyed. The fight ended with the Human Undead victorious, sealing the others away, and thus the world has been populated by humans ever since.
* DarkerAndEdgier: While it greatly tones down the blood, graphic violence and terrifying content of its [[Series/KamenRider555 predecessor]], ''Blade'' still has its fair share of dramatic moments. The first arc of the series deals with Tachibana making a DealWithTheDevil with Isaka to help rid of his fear at the cost of becoming his unwilling soldier which culminated in Sayoko being killed by the Undead. Even after that's done, there's also the factor of the improperly sealed Spider Undead repeatedly and gradually corrupting Mutsuki until he becomes fully evil with the heroes failing to save him in spite of their efforts. Other factors include Hajime's reveal as the Joker, whose presence as the last standing Undead destroys the world, Kenzaki's rapid unstable evolution by the time he attained King Form, and in the end, [[spoiler:Kenzaki forgoes his humanity and becomes a Joker to ensure the planet's safety and Hajime's happiness at the cost of the two having to stay away from each other.]]
* DeadlyUpgrade:
** Blade's King Form. [[spoiler:This is because of a [[DidntThinkThisThrough glaring flaw]] in the overall Rider System: Kenzaki's overly-high fusion ratio caused the Blade System to exceed its perimeters and fuse his DNA with all 13 sealed Undead associated with the suit of Spades, instead of just the Category King. Because of this, extended activity in King Form raises his fusion ratio, which would eventually [[AndThenJohnWasAZombie mutate him into a Joker-type Undead]].]]
** Chalice's Wild Form.
* DeathByOriginStory: The fate of Amane's father could be considered this, since it ties in directly with Hajime's origins. [[spoiler:Double subverted later on when Yoshito Hirose, presumed dead after releasing the Undead in the first place, turns up alive - only for that 'Hirose' to later be revealed to be a Trial monster himself.]]
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: The Undeads' battle royale is called the ''Battle Fight''.
** Also, the B on BOARD stands for ''Board''.
* DrivenToSuicide: [[spoiler:Hajime attempts to kill himself after he can no longer control himself and prevent him from carrying out the Joker's destiny to destroy the world. But being an immortal Undead, this fails.]]
* ElementalPowers
** Category Six cards all have this.
*** AnIcePerson: Leangle's Blizzard Polar.
*** BlowYouAway: Chalice's Tornado Hawk.
*** PlayingWithFire: Garren's Fire Fly.
*** ShockAndAwe: Blade's Thunder Deer.
** Other numbered Rouse Cards
*** GreenThumb: Chalice's Category Seven Bio Plant.
*** PoisonousPerson: Leangle's Category Eight Poison Scorpion.
*** TimeMaster: Blade's Category Ten Time Scarab.
* EmpathicEnvironment: Leangle's first appearance is accompanied by ominous storm clouds that come out of nowhere. No explanation is ever given, but it makes for a great entrance.
** Ditto for the Albino Joker in TheMovie.
* TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt: If Joker, the Undead representing death, is the last one standing, then the world ends.
* EvilCounterpart: Leangle's Rider System was created by Karasuma when he was forced to work with Undeads. Albino Joker works out to be an evil counterpart to the normal Joker Undead--lacking any of Hajime's woobish tendencies.
* EvilFeelsGood: Mutsuki Kamijo
* EvilIsNotAToy:
** Miyuki once told Hajime of Daichi's location to get the two to fight and hoped her fellow Royal Club would be able to demolish him. Upon noticing her watching them, Daichi then chased after Miyuki, imperatively telling her that he doesn't wish to fight that much. Miyuki then feigned an apology in attempt to deceptively strike him, but Daichi eventually proved to be too powerful for her to defeat, thus leaving her critically injured.
** Kerberos kills the scientists involved in its genesis upon creation.
** Tennoji pulverizing Kanai in battle as Artificial Kerberos while smugly claiming to him that he's an Undead comes back to bite him as when he demands to the Riders to seal Kanai in order for his desire to rule the world to happen, [[spoiler:the Undead slits his head, claiming the madman to be "sealed" and as an Undead that must be defeated.]]
* EverybodyLives: All four Riders and their civilian buddies live [[spoiler:(although Kenzaki is now an Undead and must avoid Hajime at all costs)]].
** It's worth noting that the [=MotWs=] of this season don't really die either. As Undead, the only way to put them down is to seal them into cards - only the Trial Undeads and Roaches can be killed.
%%* EvolvingCredits
* {{Expy}}: An in-universe version; the ''Missing Ace'' Riders' powers are modeled on the four from the TV series: Glaive is Blade, Larc is a combination of Garren and Chalice, and Lance is Leangle.
** Also worth noting is two specific Trial Monsters, one modeled after Garren's battle style and another modeled after Leangle's battle style.
* FindingJudas: Tachibana, when he works with Hirose's father to [[spoiler:save Kenzaki from his own King Form]].
* FireIceLightning: Non video game example. Blade is lightning, Garren is Fire, and Leangle is ice. Chalice messes with the formula at times by serving as air/wind.
%%* FourIsDeath
%%* FourTemperamentEnsemble
* FunWithAcronyms: BOARD stands for the "'''B'''oard '''O'''f '''A'''rchaeological '''R'''esearch '''D'''epartment.
* FusionDance: The Rouse Systems work by merging the user's DNA with that of the Category Ace Undead. Though normally the human remains in control. [[spoiler:Leangle has it rough because the Spider Undead was improperly sealed and can control him to some degree.]]
* GoodFeelsGood: [[spoiler: Shima feels this way due to his love for human compassion.]]
* GoOutWithASmile: [[spoiler:According to Hajime's flashback, the Human Undead did this when he willingly allowed himself to be sealed.]]
* GottaCatchThemAll: The series uses PlayingCardMotifs for this purpose, with there being a total of 52 [[MonsterOfTheWeek Undead]] that the Kamen Riders have to defeat and [[SealedEvilInACan seal away]]. That said, not all 52 Undead appear[[note]]Since they're used to power the Riders' transformations and abilities, a few of them start off the show already sealed away and never get unsealed[[/note]], and [[spoiler:the ones that are absent -- namely, the Jokers -- end up being far more important.]]
* HeroicBSOD: Kenzaki briefly goes through a phase of this after Tachibana's apparent betrayal.
** Parodied later on with Kotaro when his date Miyuki revealed herself to him as the Orchid Undead. His usually good cooking drops into LethalChef territory, although Tachibana can still eat it [[RuleOfFunny for some reason.]]
** Tachibana is in this from the start of the series due to his fear the Rouse System might kill him.
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler:Kenzaki in the finale, who sacrifices his humanity]].
** [[spoiler:Noboru Shima/Tarantula Undead to save Mutsuki from being controlled by the Spider Undead. Although it didn't take until MUCH later on when Hikaru did the same.]]
** [[spoiler:Hajime in the movie, who switches places with Amane as the Albino Joker's power source so Kenzaki can destroy it and weaken the Albino Joker, killing Hajime in the process.]]
* HumansAreSpecial: Humans have a great deal of traits that the Undead didn't start out with, such as compassion and caring about others. Some Undead who can assume human form, [[spoiler:such as Shima and Hajime]], discover this and perform a HeelFaceTurn as a result of finding they actually like these traits.
* IneffectualLoner: Hajime Aikawa
* JapaneseBeetleBrothers: Blade and Garren are in general Type A, though there are hints of Type B.
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: Hajime at one point, which leads into an encounter with an IdenticalStranger.
* LastNameBasis: Kenzaki, Tachibana, and Hirose are almost never called by their given names.
* LateArrivalSpoiler: ''[[Series/KamenRiderDecade Decade]]'', ''[[Series/KamenRiderExAid Ex-Aid's]]'' ''[[Recap/KamenRiderExAidKamenSentaiGorider Gorider]]'' special, and most social websites let you know [[spoiler: that there is a Joker Undead]] let alone who [[spoiler: the Joker Undead]] is.
* LetsYouAndHimFight: [[spoiler: In episodes 43 and 44, Hiroshi uses his crossbreed Titan Undead to do this with both its poison and shapeshifting abilities in an attempt to get the Riders to destroy each other. The Riders get wise and set up a ''fake'' battle with Hajime's Joker form in order to lure it out so it can be defeated.]]
* LoopholeAbuse: [[spoiler:The series ends with this. After all other Undead were defeated and sealed, Haijime was left as the sole active Undead, making him the technical winner of the Battle Fight. Since he's the Joker Undead, him winning means that the Battle Fight was considered a failure, causing the stone monolith to unleash an endless horde of monsters set to destroy all life so that a new set of life forms could replace it. Normally, the only way to end this is to seal the Joker, but everyone refused to do it since it would mean that Hajime would be permanently sealed off. To avert this, Kenzaki deliberately repeatedly used his King form until it transformed him into a Joker Undead, reopening the Battle Fight and pausing the apocalypse as there are now two active Undead. Kenzaki and Hajime go their separate ways to ensure that they are not compelled to fight, leaving the Battle Fight unfinished and the apocalypse postponed indefinitely.]]
* MadScientistsBeautifulDaughter: [[spoiler:Shiori Hirose arguably.]]
* MessiahCreep: Kazuma Kenzaki
* TheMonolith: A twisty version acts as the Undeads' Battle Royale judge.
* MoralityPet: Amane Kurihara to Hajime Aikawa, Sayoko Fukasawa to Sakuya Tachibana. Mutsuki's girlfriend Nozomi also qualifies.
* MythologyGag
** Sakuya Tachibana (Kamen Rider Garren) shares his surname with the original Kamen Riders' mentor, Tobei Tachibana, alluding to his role as the most senior Rider in this season.
** The red scarf from the Blade Vs Blade video, which nobody but the audience can see.
** And Sakuya's former colleague Kiryu had an accident in which one of his arms had to be replaced with a mechanical appendage. Kiryu later retrofits it to release lethal electric currents, thereby referencing both Riderman and Stronger.
** Instead of a spider monster in the first episode, we have a spider monster as a recurring villain of sorts, slowly turning Mutsuki evil despite being sealed in card form.
** Hajime's IdenticalStranger steps into the CookingDuel with a ridiculous suit of armor, which he calls his Ultimate Form: a term that originated in ''Series/KamenRiderKuuga'', referring to the lead Rider of each season's final SuperMode. Not to mention that the armor was mostly black and gold just as Kuuga Ultimate Form was.
*** Also from Kuuga: the Undeads' belt buckles cracking open upon defeat happened to the Grongi as well (but are a valid plot device this time.)
** The story parallels ''Series/KamenRiderRyuki'' in several ways - ignoring the obvious use of cards, Riders in Ryuki and Undeads in Blade must fight and kill each other until one is left, and the last few episodes see the world swarmed with thousands of bug monsters for related reasons.
** In fact, not only have we seen cards as powerup devices combined with a ThereCanBeOnlyOne plot before, [[Series/KamenRiderDecade we'll see it again]].
** One related to it's first Super Hero Time Partner, albeit likely a coincidence - the first episode of this series aired alongside episode 48 of ''Abaranger'', which [[spoiler: saw Mikoto Nakadai[=/=]Abarekiller die]] - ''Series/KamenRiderAgito'' was in a similar situation, as it's first episode aired alongside episode 49 of ''Series/MiraiSentaiTimeranger'', when [[spoiler: Naoto Takizawa[=/=]Timefire dies]].
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: Nice job [[spoiler:killing Tachibana's girlfriend and freeing him of the fear that was crippling him in battle Isaka.]]
* OhCrap: The first time Kenzaki fights a "Trial" (artificial creatures created from hybrids of human and Undead DNA), he fells it with the Lightning Sonic. As usual, he throws a Blank to attempt to seal it... the Blank is ''absorbed'' instead.
** The first time Leangle uses his 'Remote' ability on other Rider's cards.
* OneWingedAngel: The Albino Joker's final form in TheMovie.
** [[spoiler:Tennōji after fusing with Kerberos. ]]
* TheOnlyOne: [[HeroesRUs BOARD]] gets ransacked in the first episode. We start the series with two members (one being our hero) and a mysterious, unaligned Rider who considers ''everyone'' his enemy as the only good guys who are alive and free, and a ''lot'' of questions as to what is really going on that they have to solve on their own. At least they got to salvage some of the lab equipment (most notably their monster detector.)
* OutsideContextProblem: The Albino Joker in TheMovie. Having sealed every Undead already with there being no indication of there being another one, he comes out of nowhere and what really throws them off is how intelligent he is compared to the normal Joker, who in his natural state is a raging beast. By the time they figure that out, [[spoiler:he's already played them like fiddles and gotten what he wants.]]
* PantheraAwesome: Lion Undead/Blade's 3 of Spades Beat Lion, Jaguar Undead/Blade's 9 of Spades Mach Jaguar and Tiger Undead/Leangle's Queen of Clubs Absorb Tiger.
* ThePasswordIsAlwaysSwordfish: Or in this case, BOARD's password is "Double Joker", which turns out to be a ChekhovsGun.
* PlayingCardMotifs: The main characters all correspond to a suit. Every Undead also corresponds to a playing card, with 2-10 typically being a MonsterOfTheWeek or servant, Face Cards (known as the Royal Club) being full characters that tend to last multiple episodes, and the Aces are the base forms for each Rider.
* PowerGivesYouWings: Blade's and Garren's Jack Forms.
* PrimalFear: Tachibana's fear of his body degenerating due to prolonged use of the Rouze System. [[spoiler:Turns out it was all in his head]].
** [[spoiler: Something of a ChekhovsBoomerang given later everyone learned of the nature of the Rouzers and King form later in the series [[AndThenJohnWasAZombie turning users into Undead]].]]
* RedOniBlueOni: Kenzaki and Tachibana.
* RhinoRampage: Rhinoceros Undead/Leangle's 4 of Clubs Rush Rhinoceros.
* RuleOfFunny: Tachibana and Mutsuki whipping out their Rouzers untransformed in Blade Vs Blade (followed by shooting Kazuma in the butt and whopping him on the head respectively). Shiori Hirose can lift heavy objects with one hand. Clearly there is only one reason.
* ScaryScorpions: Scorpion Undead/Leangle's 8 of Clubs Poison Scorpion, again.
* SealedEvilInACan: Joker, who is sealed by [[spoiler:Hajime's Sealed Category Ace of Hearts and the Sealed Category Two of Hearts/Human Undead]]. Later is unsealed due to [[spoiler:Blade's King Form]] and then resealed by [[spoiler:Using the Category King of Hearts to enable Chalice's Wild Form]]
* ShootTheDog: Tachibana attempts to [[spoiler:kill Hajime]] to save the world from being overrun with monstrous roaches.
* SmokeOut: Squid Undead/Leangle's 9 of Clubs Smog Squid.
* SmugSnake: The evil version of Mutsuki Kamijo.
* SuperSpeed: Jaguar Undead/Blade's 9 of Spades Mach Jaguar.
* SuperpoweredEvilSide: [[spoiler:Hajime has one in his true form: Joker]].
* SwappedRoles: [[TheStoic Hajime]] and his takoyaki-making {{Doppelganger}}. HilarityEnsues.
* TakeAThirdOption: In the finale, [[spoiler:Kenzaki stops TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt ''and'' spares Hajime by turning himself into an Undead- thereby restarting the battle royale- then fixing it so that there will never be a winner]].
* ThemeNaming: The Riders are all named after the suit of the Minor Arcana corresponding to their playing card suit, and their given names all contain some reference to being first (Ace).
** "Blade" references the suit of swords, and the "Kazu" in "Kazuma" means "one".
** "Garren" is a corruption of "galleon" (a kind of coin), referencing the suit of coins, and the "Saku" in "Sakuya" means the first day of the lunar month.
** "Chalice" references the suit of cups, and "Hajime" means "beginning".
** "Leangle" is a corruption of "liangle" (a type of polearm), referencing the suit of wands, and "Mutsuki" means the first month of the lunar calendar.
* ThisIsADrill: Shell Undead/Chalice's 5 of Hearts Drill Shell.
* ThreateningShark: The Hammerhead Undead, which was sealed offscreen and became Chalice's 3 of Hearts Chop Head.
* TomatoInTheMirror: [[spoiler:Hirose Yoshito again.]]
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Drink, in this case - Kotaro orders milk by the crates.
* UnwantedAssistance: Done entirely for humor in the Hyper Battle Video. A Trial has impersonated Kazuma, and he asks Tachibana and Mutsuki for help. Each of them in turn says "I know who the impostor is!", pulls out his personal weapon (while not transformed)...and attacks the real Kazuma, getting him shot in the ass and bashed over the head respectively.
* WhatMeasureIsANonHuman: As TheLancer, Tachibana has no problems with fighting the Undead Hajime. As AllLovingHero, Kenzaki begs to differ.
%%* WhereAreTheyNowEpilogue
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: [[spoiler:[[BigBad Tennoji]] loves to do this. First to the Riders when they're not of use anymore, and then to the scientists that helped him create the Kerberos.]]
** [[spoiler:The Albino Joker kills off the two other movie Riders once he's done using them as {{Unwitting Pawn}}s.]]
