''Crash & Bernstein'' was a [[ShortRunner short-lived]] 2012 Creator/DisneyXD sitcom, utilizing a mix of live-action and puppetry. Created by Eric Friedman, the series centers around a teenaged boy named Wyatt Bernstein (Cole Jensen) who, having three sisters, wishes to have a brother. For his birthday, Wyatt is taken to a Build-A-Bestie store where he creates a puppet that he names Crash (performed and voiced by Tim Lagasse), who comes to life to become the brother he always wanted. The show follows Crash and Wyatt learning to navigate this new sibling relationship, while dealing with the insanity caused both by Wyatt's sisters and Crash's own reckless behavior.

The series was quietly canceled after about two seasons. A spin-off/ReTool called ''Commando Crash'' was developed but not picked up. Creator/LandryBender, who plays one of the sisters would go on to star in the similarly short-lived Creator/DisneyChannel series ''Series/BestFriendsWhenever''.

!!"Let me trope about the Bernsteins!":
* ActorAllusion: In ''Comic Book Crash'', Amanda makes her character speak in an accent. In that episode, Oana Gregory used her Mika accent from ''Series/KickinIt''.
* AnAesop: Most post-pilot episodes have at least one.
* AlphaBitch: Wyatt's sister Amanda.
* ApologeticAttacker: The vice principal in "Educating Crash"
-->(Vice Prinicipal throws Crash at her door)\
'''Vice Principal:''' (picks up Crash) Sorry, I thought the door was open (opens door and throws Crash out again)
* AreWeThereYet: Crash says this while playing a motorcycle game in episode 7.
* BaitAndSwitch: A fairly large portion of the jokes Crash makes fall under this.
-->'''Trent Bixby:''' The real reason I came to space is to find an alien. I want to capture it, and make it the mascot for my energy drink.\
'''Crash:''' Only one problem with your plan: no one has proved the existence of energy drinks!

-->'''Crash:''' [[ItMakesSenseInContext No! This is my baby!]] Crash Junior! I named him after my favorite person! [[Creator/RobertDowneyJr Robert DOWNEY Junior!]]
* BelievingTheirOwnLies: In "Crashy [=McSmartypants=]" Crash is mistaken for a genius and starts believing it himself.
* BlandNameProduct: One episode has Crash 'abusing' a not-Siri app, which turns out to be a [[AsLongAsItSoundsForeign Eastern-European-thereabouts]] voice actor with a flawless American accent ''who was really answering all his queries as he was giving them!''
* [[ABoyAndHisX A Boy and His Puppet]]
* BrattyTeenageDaughter: Subverted but Jasmine can be '''huge''' brat if things don't go her way.
* ButtMonkey: Pesto.
* {{Calvinball}}: "Crashenfest" is basically the holiday equivalent of this trope, as the song cheerfully states.
-->'''Crash:''' It's a holiday with no tradition, just random stuff like toilet fishin'!
* TheCutie: Cleo and Jasmine are this.
* DeliberatelyCuteChild: Jasmine; she even admitted to it in "Crash vs. Flex"
* DisappearedDad: It's never said what happened to the Bernsteins' dad. Finally explained in Season 2 that he was filming wildlife in Africa; there are some implications he might have become part of the main cast had the show not been cancelled.
* DoNotAttempt: Any broadcast of a new episode when it is first aired contains this kind of disclaimer with Crash telling the audience to not destroy things like he does on the show, because the audience is not made of felt and stuffing.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Crash throwing swords through the house.
* ExactWords: In the Season 1 Finale, [[spoiler:the BigBad, angry at Crash for acting like a regular puppet instead of his usual self when he shows him to his mother]], orders him to "Act like Crash!". Hijinks happen.
* HypnoPendulum: Crash uses this and HypnoticEyes in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3EeAsWt3XU this scene]].
* {{Hypocrite}}: Crash and Wyatt spend part of "Crashtagion" tormenting Cleo while she's sick feeling no guilt, but in the end when she gets back at Crash by doing the same to him while he's sick, Wyatt gets mad at her.
* HypocriticalHumor: In "Monster Crash" Crash agrees with Wyatt that no one's stupid enough to buy bags of dirt, then says he also can't because he spent his money on a bag of sky (which is just an inflated Ziploc bag).
* IdiosyncraticEpisodeNaming: Every episode of Season 1 had "Crash" in it somehow. This was ditched in Season 2, however.
* IronButtMonkey: [[JustifiedTrope Justified]] with [[TheDitz Crash]], being the [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} oddball]] [[MadeOfIndestructium puppet]] that he is, Crash is ''very'' {{slapstick}}-prone because of his [[TooDumbToLive stupidity]] or being a [[PluckyComicRelief massive comic-relief character]].
* {{Jerkass}}: All of the Bernstein kids are this in some way.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Both Crash and Wyatt apply:
** Crash is reckless, irresponsible, and [[TheDitz doesn't think before acting,]] but always tries to fix things when he does something wrong and realizes his mistakes.
** Wyatt is insensitive, selfish, arrogant, gets very upset when things don't go his way, and blames stuff on others that weren't their fault (for example, when Mr. Poulos caused a blackout during a game with Wyatt that he (Wyatt) said he was going to win), but he's very forgiving, tries to do what's right, and helps those in need of it.
* LetsGetDangerous: Crash loves playing with this.
* LivingToy: Crash. And a [[MadeOfIndestructium durable one]] at that.
* LovedByAll: While not as extreme as most cases, Wyatt is adored by everyone except for his siblings (but they don't count, as that's considered normal between siblings). When Wyatt was accused of making a slandering commercial, people said what he did was wrong but acted like it was okay.
* MeaningfulName:
** Crash, because of [[TriggerHappy crashing and breaking things.]]
** Bernstein. ''BERN''stein. Crash and Burn.
* MistakenForProfound: In "Crashy [=McSmartypants=]" a bunch of people mistakes Crash's idiocy for genius.
* ShoutOut: The theme song starts with, [[Music/KanyeWest "Yo, I'mma let you finish but..."]]
* SickEpisode: "Crashtagion".
* SpoiledBrat: Jasmine.
* TheSwearJar: Subverted. Mr. Poulos uses one to muffle out his swearing so no one hears him and is PlayedForLaughs.
* TotallyRadical: The intro has a hip-hop based opening.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: Everyday people on the show who meet Crash just instantly accept that there's a living puppet running around.
* UnwantedAssistance: An InUniverse example in episode 2.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Crash and Bernstein.
