[[http://originalcharacter-rp.tumblr.com/ Original Character RP]] is [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin an RP with original characters in it.]]

The basic gist is that anyone can just throw an OC into the RP and freely interact with the other [=OCs=]. There is no grand plot per se: [=RPers=] are encouraged to create their own plots. The RP is based in a large mansion where [=OCs=] are free to interact.
----
!!Original Character RP contains examples of:
* AerithAndBob: When you come across people with names like Nathan, Donald, and Alex, it tends to be a little jarring.
%% * ADayInTheLimelight: But of course, with all the main starters usually revolving around someone different each day.
%%* ApocalypseHow: Class 4 if the Nephilim ended up winning.
%%* ArchnemesisDad: Theodora and [[spoiler: Briar.]]
* ArtificialLimbs: BH has a faulty prosthetic leg due to a heavy shotgun wound. [[spoiler: Rain]] also ends up getting a new right arm from the Hospital merfolk after the events of the Church.
* ArtisticLicensePhysics: {{Inverted|Trope}}. When Suvia and Greyscale face off, [[spoiler: the former manages to slice apart the latter's antimatter gun, destroying half of the Foyer and leaving the Butler with a huge hole in his side. However, because Greyscale's gun barely had any anti-matter in it, it did not create a large hole or explosion as most anti-matter would. Greyscale survived the blast because during the face off, Suvia hit the teleportation button on the side of Greyscale's gun and he was able to avoid the blast before anything really hit him. ]]
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: What [[OneWingedAngel the Nephilim]] becomes at the end of his shared arc, heavily crossed with [[EldritchAbomination Eldritch Abomination]].
* BadPowersGoodPeople: Poor Des' withering touch and ability to snap you in half despite having a heart of gold.
%%* BigBad: [[PrimalFear Nighthollow]] is shaping up to be one. [[spoiler: Later gives way to the Shadow Tyrant, followed by the Nephilim.]]
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler: Nighty]] returns to Earth just in the nick of time to help the others finish off the Nephilim.
* BloodyMurder: Along with a nice big boost to her power, Briar also gets the ability to manipulate blood from her Pact with Thanatos.
* TheBigGuy: Root. Could also be considered a [[GentleGiant Gentle Giant.]] And let's just say that are many other guys in the mansion who fit this trope.
* BlessedWithSuck: Cameron and Root first come to the Mansion because they fear being used by the towns people in their hometown for their abilities like Reanbelle was used. Kyung fits this trope as well, but for a completely different reason. Kyung's ability to channel memories, emotions, and absorb powers through any skin-to-skin contact can be a huge nuisance.
* BodyHorror: The end of the Graveyard visit to a ''fucking tee.'' [[spoiler: To be specific, Reanbelle gets her jaw and neck broken and is left a shambling mess, Adelaide's spine becomes ruptured and still manages to stand, and Crimson's skull is split open, all by the Shadow Tyrant. [[DeathIsCheap They get better though.]]]]
* BodySurf: Suvia does this after [[spoiler: blowing up his old body to escape an attack of mantis men.]]
* BreakTheCutie: Des and Adelaide. Des was abused by foster parents as a child and [[spoiler: forced to take part in an experiment that killed hundreds of young people and left her with horrific, uncontrollable powers. Nighty's transformation has also left her emotionally scarred and she has forced herself into isolation.]] And to think, she used to be a sweet little girl who was quiet and wanted to be a lawyer. Adelaide is [[spoiler: the child of Thanatos, the Greek personification of Death.]] Her mother died when she was very young, leaving her in the care of an orphanage and later, a mental institution after [[spoiler: she accidentally burned the orphanage to the ground when she lost control of her powers.]] Believe it or not, she was pretty sweet as a kid until daddy abandoned her and everything went horribly wrong. [[spoiler: Briar is also heading down this path, although she hasn't quite been broken yet.]]
* BrokenAngel: [[spoiler: Alexandria]], although she'll never admit it or really show many signs of it. [[spoiler: The death of the young soldier she loved during the Blitz still messes her up, and has led to her extreme emotional detachment.]]
* BrokenBird: Theodora, due to ArchnemesisDad. [[spoiler: She was bred and raised to be his right hand, and growing up she was often forced to help him kill and torture.]]
* ButNowIMustGo: After the victory against the Nephilim, [[HeelFaceTurn Korad]] leaves town in order to better find a purpose for himself now that he has been forced into living in modern society. [[TheBusCameBack He comes back to the Mansion after a short time, now the frontman of a band of various demons and devils.]]
%%* CatsAreMean: At least Imon is when she's in this form.
%%* CatsAreSnarkers: Shakir has his moments.
%%* CatBoy: Yoshii.
* CircusOfFear: The initial landing point of one of the tribes, complete with blood splatters, creepy insignia, and hanging meat!
%%** CarnivalOfKillers
%%* CharacterDevelopment: Par for the course!
%%* CleavageWindow: Sedva's usual dress has this. Not that she really minds it.
* CompleteImmortality: You can chop off her head, rip out her heart, or slit her throat, but Alexandria will always come back. It's not advised to inflict mortal wounds on her, though. The way her body comes back together is [[BodyHorror definitely not for the faint of heart]] and she generally isn't very happy when someone tries to kill her.
%%* CoveredWithScars: Briar, Theodora, and Deryn.
* CreepyDoll: The doll that the Shadow Tyrant gives to Reanbelle as the foundation to another one of his deals which immediately changes back into Anatolius, [[spoiler: the man whose moments of death brought about Nighthollow.]] Also qualifies as a temporary [[spoiler: AndIMustScream]]
* ControlFreak: The Butler is constantly trying to keep the Mansion nice, clean, and running smoothly. This results in him being somewhat overbearing on occasions to multiple people in the household.
%%* ConstantlyCurious: Shakir can't help it when there's so many things to learn.
* CuteMute: Adelaide becomes this after an encounter with a Great Old One ends with her throat nearly mutilated. She gets treated, but loses the use of her voice in the end. However, this is slightly mitigated in that her [[BrokenBird causticity takes the place of the required innocent naivete.]]
%%* DarkIsNotEvil: Nighty when he is not Nighthollow. [[CastingAShadow Suvia]] also applies.
%%* DarkAndTroubledPast: Almost ''[[CrapsackWorld everyone.]]''
%%* TheDeadCanDance: One of Suvia's favoured pastimes.
* DealWithTheDevil: Crimson once made a deal with Alex in exchange for his soul. He attempted this deal earlier and failed.
* TheDeterminator: Deryn. [[spoiler: She crawled miles to a police station after having her eye ripped out and her knee cap shot multiple times in order to report the murders of her mentor and boyfriend. She also took down four men while in that condition, and continues to kill and forge a path to her revenge without stopping. At this point, not even death could keep her from her goal.]]
* TheDragon: [[spoiler: Adelaide. Thanatos usually has humanity's best interests in mind. But he's also very selfish, and if someone slights him, he won't hesitate to take them out. He could arguably be seen as a villain, though, since he's sent Adelaide in to find a person to read the Necronomicon and become a new Seer. And let's just say sanity doesn't usually stay intact after reading that book.]]
* EldritchAbomination: The Nephilim. [[spoiler: Adelaide is also fighting a losing battle against a group very interested in taking her out of the picture.]]
* EyeScream: Due to him being partially alien, there is a dark...substance that takes the place of where Reissem's eyes should be, which is why he frequently wears sunglasses.
%%* EverybodyWasKungFuFighting: Greyscale, Cameron, the list goes on.
%%* EvilParentsWantGoodKids: [[spoiler: Theodora's father, despite being ArchnemesisDad, fits this fairly well.]]
* FamilyUnfriendlyDeath: [[spoiler: Nicol, whose head is split apart before having his soul and brains eaten up by the Shadow Tyrant.]]
* FantasyKitchenSink: Most of the residents are supernatural beings in some way or another, ranging from your usual fare of demons, ghosts, superpowered individuals and shapeshifters to priests with the end of the world sealed within them.
* FisherKing: [[InvertedTrope Inverted.]] The Butler of the Mansion magically feels everything that happens to it. [[spoiler: Including explosions ripping apart the Foyer.]]
* GenderBender: Kyung is a rare female-to-male example; he had to learn how to shift into a male form because of his regenerative healing factor. At first, gendershifting mimics real life HRT until it goes into TMI territory. The Butler also has this trait of shifting genders, [[spoiler: it was caused as a result of becoming the Mansion. The female form belongs to that of the daughter of the original owner before Jefferson.]]
%%* GentleGiant: Etpitaas, the lone monster living in the forest surrounding the Mansion.
* GoMadFromTheRevelation: [[spoiler: Briar, eventually. It's happened to every Oracle before her, and she fully expects it to happen once she meets the [[EldritchAbomination Old Gods]] she's reading and dreaming about.]]
%%* GodCouple: Crimson and Sedva.
%%* GreenThumb: The Grain Maker. Briar as well.
%%* HealingHands: Alexandria and Violet
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Briar and Leah's friendship is gearing up to be this. Their friendship is super cute, and the two of them have opened up to each other about their respective troubled pasts. [[spoiler: Leah is the first person at the mansion that Briar has told about the abuse she went through as a child.]]
* HopeSpot: When [[spoiler: the Grain Maker]] of all people helps to fuse the Shadow Tyrant back inside Anatolius, everyone thinks that he'll become dormant again and that Nighthollow will come back. [[spoiler: Then it's shown that they only helped to bring out the Nephilim and everything promptly goes to hell.]]
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Briar is 4'9", thin, and delicate looking. Root is 6'4", muscular, and bulky. There are numerous other examples of this, as well.
%%* IJustWantToBeNormal: Many residences of the Mansion just want to be normal!
* INeedAFreakingDrink: Imon is constantly drinking to forget or ignore things. Reanbelle also drinks when she is incredibly bored. Theodora's starting to straddle the line between simple heavy drinking and alcoholism.
%%* InnocentFlowerGirl: Briar.
%%* InterspeciesRomance: Alex and Jantu.
%%* InterspeciesFriendship: Many friendships at the mansion fall into this.
* ItsPersonal: Deryn Hunter and Eon Cadwallader. Eon's twin brother, Echo, also falls under this to a certain extent. He isn't quite as obsessed with revenge as his sister is, though. And Deryn takes it to an absolutely extreme level, [[spoiler: going head to head against her super powered enemies even when she's injured, causing herself to get a shotgun blast to the leg.]]
* KillTheGod: [[spoiler: Adelaide's entire reason for existing is to kill gods that wrong her father or put humanity in danger.]]
* LargeHam: Suvia's necromancy rituals that he uses to [[spoiler:seal the Doctor]], complete with VoiceOfTheLegion and FloweryElizabethanEnglish. [[SubvertedTrope Subverted slightly]], as the hamminess was only a ruse to lure [[spoiler:the Doctor]] out of his hiding.
* LiteralMinded: Reissem is this, to the point that people that have just met him become quickly frustrated with trying to converse with him.
%%* MayflyDecemberRomance: A few couples at the Mansion have this as a kind of ordeal, Reanbelle (human) and Rain (half-elf) as one of them.
%%* MagicRealism
%%* MassivelyMultiplayerCrossover
* MeaningfulName: Crimson Lucifer, obviously. Though on the outside, he appears to be a pretty cool guy. However, this also falls under NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast
* TheMenInBlack: Reissem works for the Men in Black in his home Universe under the United Empire.
%%* MrExposition: The Grain Maker and In'am fall into this category. Every now and again Officer Gray plays this role.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Nighthollow, [[spoiler: Nicol, Bory, Sodkar (now Korad)]], the Harbinger, and the Shadow Tyrant are also part of this roster.
%%* NeverFoundTheBody: Jefferson.
* NoSocialSkills: Shakir. He's a humanized cat and is unfamiliar with socializing as a human, but he's gradually getting better.
%%* OccultDetective: Isaiah, Theodora.
%%* OddFriendship: [[{{Necromancer}} Suvia]] and [[ScienceHero Nathan]].
%%* OurLichesAreDifferent: Suvia.
%%* OurWerebeastsAreDifferent: Isaiah and Kyung are werecats.
* PolarOppositeTwins: [[ChivalrousPervert Echo]] and [[TheStoic Eon Cadwallader]]. While you can't have one without the other, they are very, very different from each other.
* PortalNetwork: The winds that harass the Mansion constantly are renown to blow things into other Universes or times. It's used constantly by the Butler to transport letters.
%%* PoweredArmor: Eon's combat suit. It's in pretty bad condition, though, so it's out of commission for a while.
%%* {{Precursors}}: The 'star ancestors', as Jefferson likes to call them.
* RagtagBunchOfMisfits: Whenever there's a major threat to the city and mansion alike, you can bet that there's going to be a variety of the residents out there to try and stop it, despite their differences.
* RedBaron: Nighty, whose actual name is Nighthollow, and is also known as the Emissary of the Lady, the Smiling Assassin, and recently, [[spoiler: the Guardian of Souls]].
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: Suvia very nearly [[spoiler:exterminated an entire insect hive]] because [[MoralityPet BH]] got shot.
%%* SadisticChoice: The Shadow Tyrant's preferred method of bringing down the residents.
* ScarsAreForever: [[spoiler: While Briar could get the scars on her arms and hands removed with cosmetic surgery, the scar tissue on her back from her run in with Hyde cannot be removed, cannot be covered up, and will never fade.]]
* ScienceHero: Tribes terrorizing the town? Just ask Rain for gadget supplies! Have a problem with getting things done fast and need extra hands? Nathan's got the tools you need! Jantu can make you a whole army of zombiefied soldier, if you ask politely.
%%* SlasherSmile: A common expression for Nighthollow, even when he's just being Nighty.
* TheSpock: Alexandria is incredibly logical (almost to a fault) and always in search of a good story and more knowledge.
* StepfordSmiler: [[spoiler: Briar.]] She will always insist that her dark and troubled past has given her a reason to live and pushes her to better herself, but deep down, she's a really troubled kid who doesn't know how to fully open up and admit that she's hurting. [[spoiler: It doesn't help that she's also starting to realize she may be more powerful than she thought.]]
* SwordAndGun: A fairly heroic example in Reanbelle, who uses her pistol in accordance with Zia's greatsword in combat from her trek to the Graveyard onwards.
* TallDarkAndSnarky: Echo. He's 6'2" and was designed by his parents to look like an angel, all sharp cheekbones, pale hair, and silver eyes. He's also got the charisma, incredible skill, and ego to fill the role. [[spoiler: However, he usually uses the snark to cover the constant, awful pain he's in from his heart condition. He also resorts to snark to distract from the fact that without the medication the military gave him, he is dying.]]
* TomeOfEldritchLore: Adelaide has one that she keeps well hidden so that wandering eyes won't accidentally learn about things they aren't supposed to.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: Unless whatever is happening is inherently threatening, most of the residents don't even blink an eye when something weird happens all of a sudden.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: The Nephilim declared that he was only consuming the world's souls just so that there would be no more strife and sorrow in the world. [[spoiler: Inverted when Sedva and Rean piece together that it just wants to feed and would probably move on to other worlds when it was finished.]]
%%* WorldOfBadass: The population of the Boragdine grounds in a nutshell.
%%* WorldOfSymbolism: The side plot that goes on in the RP (for those who are bored) is heavily draped in symbolism. However, the symbolism is up to interpretation.
* YouWouldntBelieveMeIfIToldYou: The main basis of why Reanbelle, Cameron, and Root don't talk much about [[spoiler: their hometown]].
