Journey Through The Multiverse is an RPG created by {{@/Psyga315}}, based off an old RPG he had played on Henshin Justice Unlimited.

The story is about a group of people who have been wrapped in a widespread war between TheEmpire and the Red Pirates, a group of people who wish to discover the secrets of "The Power", the source of every kind of magic and power imaginable. With the powers and technology they gained from the aftermath of one such battle, they soon begin to embark on a [[TitleDrop Journey Through The Multiverse]].

However, the journey is not easy, as TheEmpire soon builds their forces up to attack the group, and soon, many people come out of the woodwork to partake in this war, from the insane Pantheon of the Demented, to the HotBlooded Dai-Gurren Brigade, all the way to the Red Pirates rising from the ashes. All while under the watchful eye of three mysterious godlike figures known only as the Monitors. Soon, many people change sides at the drop of a hat, and it's pretty clear that WarIsHell, even in the wide Multiverse.

----
!!This RPG contains the following tropes

* AbnormalAmmo: In S1, Tachi wields the Magun, a device that fires "soil charges", that summon monsters depending on the soil charges used.
* AdaptationalVillainy: Several members of Dai-Shocker were actually good people where they came from, with the obvious examples being [[WebVideo/AtopTheFourthWall Linkara]], [[VisualNovel/KatawaShoujo Lilly]], and [[Series/KamenRiderOOO Ankh]]. Subverted for those three, since the first two HeelFaceTurn soon after Tsukasa's MoralEventHorizon, while Ash is revealed to be the ''other'' Ankh, and it turned out the real one's core is inside Ash all along. [[spoiler:Subverted for STTGL, who's hinted to be Anti-Spiral]].
** Other characters also were converted into being villains, such as [[spoiler:[[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Puddinghead]], [[Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica Hitomi]], [[Film/TheWizardOfOz Glinda]], [[Film/{{Avatar}} Jake Sully]], and [[Film/DancesWithWolves Lieutenant Dunbar]] (who got turned into Series/KamenRider Ichigo]].
* AerosolFlamethrower: Austin uses this method to attack the Wormwitch.
* AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs: Attempted by both Tsukasa and Mutsuki on separate occasions.
** Attempted again by Sarah... Only to be {{subverted}} when it turns out the A.I. that she was interacting with only contained memory on battles.
** And yet again by Chirin... Only to have a battle ending anti-climatically.
** And again by Griga... He had to make a hasty escape from under the aim of a WaveMotionGun.
** It ''finally'' gets played straight by Daishuryou and [[spoiler:Madoka]]. [[spoiler:Though not on the Ha'tak]].
* AmuletOfConcentratedAwesome: Various shards and tech can be considered this.
* AncientArtifact: Majora's Mask, the Noble Phantasms, and various other objects qualify for this trope.
* AndIMustScream: The fate of anyone who becomes a Star Shard. They're stuck in that crystal, until they're put into someone. Then they explode into energy/mana/chakra/power for the person to use.
* AndThenWhat: Linkara, [[MythologyGag like he did before]], asks this out of the Daishuryou. [[spoiler:Unlike the other two times he pulled this off, Daishuryou already has an idea of what happens after he rules the multiverse, telling him that [[ShutUpKirk after he stabs him]].]]
* AnIcePerson: Grey's powers allow her to control ice.
* ApologeticAttacker: [[spoiler:Jenny, before she stabs Michael in the chest so she can get away and not risk anyone when her Soul Gem shatters.]]
* AppliedPhlebotinum: Power Shards, Sonic Screwdrivers, Multiversal Starships, you name it, it's probably in there somewhere.
* ArtifactOfDoom: Majora's Mask, The One Ring, Onyx Blade... Note that they all are in the hands of the same team of psychopaths [[spoiler:until Envy stole the mask and the ring]].
* AwfulTruth: Tsukasa withholds the way to make the red stones from Kios, because they're [[spoiler:made out of souls]]. He tells him eventually, however. Subverted however, as it turns out its simply Red Water, and that the reason why Tsukasa told Kios otherwise was to make him more obedient.
* BadassCrew: The Red Pirates.
* BagOfHolding: Falkon's pouch will suck an item into it, take on the item's form, and then shrink back to it's normal form.
* TheBattlestar: the Ha'tak, although most of the ships were destroyed in the battle with Dai-Shocker.
* BeachEpisode: Avatar's world after the GoldenEnding.
* BecomingTheMask: Various cases.
* BigBad: Asides from Tsukasa, the world has their own MonsterOfTheWeek style Big Bads:
** ComicBook/TheJoker acted as one for Batman's world.
** [[Anime/FullMetalAlchemist2003 Bradley]] for FMA's world, though he was hired by Tsukasa in that case.
** Subverted for the World of Phantoms. While [[spoiler: Puddinghead]] was exposed as being the one who started the whole mess of [[spoiler: having the contests be a way to sacrifice people to the angry ghost inside the chest, not to mention creating that ghost in the first place]], he didn't get directly taken on and was only called out by one of the Imperium's lesser members.
** Walpurgisnacht for Madoka's World.
** Orochi([[Manga/{{Naruto}} maru]], to be specific) in the World of Series/KamenRiderHibiki.
** Nightmare Moon and the Daleks in the Doctor Who/My Little Pony arc.
** [[spoiler: Empress Alicia/Azula and Glinda the Good Witch]] in the Avatar/Oz arc.
** Zant in the Zelda Arc. The Kappas and the Zodiarts on the other hand don't count due to them allied with Tsukasa.
** Moloch in Buffy's world.
** Daguva has been the Big Bad for the RPM World arc.
** Subverted for Lord Vyce in Linkara's World. He was one half of a boss battle with Jake Sully, and both were hired by Daishuryou anyways, much like Bradley.
** In the one-off RPG, ">Rufio: Make Him Pay", it seems Barbossa is our BigBad for the World of Hook.
* BigBadEnsemble: The RPG has three Big Bads. The Daishuryou, who was the initial Big Bad set on multiversal domination. Master Majora, originally a human under the command of Tsukasa, now promoted himself to several levels of Big Bad by absorbing the Homunculi and acting on his own. And finally, The Guardian of the Multiverse, who not only is a GreaterScopeVillain, but [[spoiler:used to be a BigBad]], who is set on ''destroying the entire multiverse''.
%%* BiggerOnTheInside: TARDIS.
* BilingualBonus: The RPG makes much use of both German and Japanese languages in certain conversations.
* BittersweetEnding: For ''[[Manga/FullmetalAlchemist FMA's]]'' world, they managed to save Viktor, but [[spoiler: Roy dies, and Sakura is now inside of Viktor, screaming]].
* BlessedWithSuck: Sarah Blackwell's power causes her to turn to stone when others observe her. This soon gets {{defied}} by Tsukasa, who attaches a mutagen that gives her SuperSpeed as a trade off.
* BodyHorror: When Mary curses Falkon, he awakens later to find that he's slowly transforming into... Something.
%%* BoundAndGagged: Jenny, during the fourth arc.
* BreakingTheFourthWall:
** When the crew is getting acquainted, Viktor asks everyone what their TV Tropes handle is. Michael tells him that his is BreakingTheFourthWall, while Viktor says [[LeaningOnTheFourthWall they're simply leaning on it.]] On the end, Michael looks at the players and says sorry.
** After Mitsuki tries to enter the ship, both Michael and August go face him. Michael then plainly states that "his player is away, so we'll be standing here in awkward silence for a long time".
** Lampshaded a few times as well:
--->'''Jenny:''' I swear, somewhere there's a fourth wall in pieces right now.
** And:
--->'''Kios:''' Hello, kid. How long has it been? A few minutes? Half an hour? A few posts?
--->''[beat]''
--->'''Kios:''' Damn, that does feel good. Now I know why you pipsqueaks do it all the time.
** And then there are "FourthWall parties" in the discussion thread, when ''everybody'' goes out beyond it.
* BreatherEpisode:
** The World of Phantoms seems to be this, with a competition and little-to-no involvement with Dai-Shocker save for Kios hunting down a Homunculi. This gets subverted rather quickly, resulting in two of the Imperium members being kidnapped.
** Invoked with the world of ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'', which is also a HalloweenEpisode. The arc takes place right after a well justified reason why they're celebrating (they assume the Daishuryou is dead). It's played with, however. While there's two devastating events going on in two different worlds, the main focus is still on Buffy's World.
* CallBack: The next-to-last two worlds are the first worlds the heroes went to, now with higher stakes.
* CatapultNightmare: Jenny does this after a nightmare about a mermaid-witch.
%%* {{Catgirl}}: Meowrin.
* CerebusSyndrome: The basic premise is that teenagers are hopping across the multiverse, going on an adventure while thwarting the plans of Dai-Shocker... This becomes darker when Dai-Shocker started stepping up their game, all the while some of the people begin to make {{Face Heel Turn}}s.
* CharacterizationTags: Alternate versions of characters, such as ''Film/TheDarkKnight'' Joker or ''Anime/FullmetalAlchemist2003'' [[Manga/FullmetalAlchemist Bradley]] are given the prefix "Another".
* CombatTentacles: Kios turned his arm into a snake to protect himself from August.
** Doubles as a MythologyGag because, at one point, [[spoiler: when threatening Ling, Envy does transform one of his arms in a snake.]]
%%* ComboPlatterPowers: John gets these via the O Driver.
* CoolBike: Expected since there are Franchise/{{Kamen Rider}}s, But so far only a few got them: Mutsuki and [[Series/KamenRiderOOO Shintaro Goto]] have theirs first in the form of the Side Basshar and Ride Vendor respectively, then Kuuga obtained [=TryChaser 2000=].
* CoolSidecar: [[TransformingMecha Which forms the legs for Mutsuki's Side Basshar's battle mode.]]
* CoolStarship: Most prominently, the Ha'tak, but there are quite a few others.
* CoolSword: The Master Sword. And to a lesser extent, Mutsuki's [[Series/KamenRider555 Kaixa]] [[SwissArmyWeapon Blaygun]]. A gunblade that ''works''! Another new additions to the list are Onyx Blade and an OriginalGeneration: Grief Blade, a sword created out of despair, corruption and grief of ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'' world - and capable of absorbing those from any other source to power itself. Then there was a Harmony Blade, modelled after [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic The Elements Of Harmony]], but it didn't see any use yet.
* CoolTrain: Gaoh-Liner is a luxury train with black marble flooring themed after a crocodile that travels through time and different worlds and is piloted by a motorcycle. Oh, and it can link up with any door to use as an exit.
* CrapsackWorld: ''Animal Crossing'''s world became this. Especially with Kappas and Gaia Memories ruling the world.
%%* CrypticConversation: Most Monitors enjoy having these.
* DeadlyUpgrade: The Power Shards can actually drive someone to different degrees of insanity depending on certain circumstances, such as who it was extracted from. And their evil counterpart, the Star Shards, which isn't exactly deadly to the user of the shard (though it's still pretty deadly to the mind) but to the extractee, who basically ''dies'' after being extracted.
* CutShort: Seems to be the fate of Journey Through The Multiverse and a lot of its associated stuff for now due to an abundance of disagreements between former players, changed focuses and characters, etc., as well as a decision to do a TimeSkip to Season 2 without any clear resolution for Season 1.
* DealWithTheDevil:
** So far, the only person who has joined Dai-Shocker without doing this is Mutsuki. A much later exceptions were Etna and David, and then the latter promptly got one from the former, along with aforementioned Mutsuki.
** The new Watcher, Homulilly, got herself in a deal with the Guardian, wishing for Madoka's protection. Her wish, like all wishes in the Madokaverse, backfire badly, [[JerkassGenie as this apparently translated to:]] "Make her immortal, unable to contract, and have her traveling the multiverse to be his little toy". Needless to say, when Homulilly found out, she wasn't too happy.
* {{Demonization}}: Tsukasa blames the Red Pirates for a battle in Amestris that he started.
* DesignatedGirlFight: Jenny vs. Characters/{{Harley Quinn|TheCharacter}} at the climax of the first Gotham arc.
* DetectEvil: Mutsuki's animal-like Orphnoch instincts allow him to mostly accurately determine a person's nature, Ironic considering he's very much evil himself.
* DisturbedDoves: When Mutsuki rides his newly acquired motorcycle, he rides towards Mami, scaring off a flock of pigeons.
* DopeSlap: Jenny does this to herself after [[spoiler:getting defeatist over her chances of walking again.]]
* DownerEnding: Madoka's World ended in a heap of depression. The ''only'' person to get a semblance of a good ending is ([[ButtMonkey ironically]]) Sayaka. [[spoiler: This gets subverted however as it goes for an EveryoneLives ending despite the downer. Mami is saved by the Philosopher and returns to her life, now as an Orphnoch. Kyouko and Sayaka got along nicely, with Sayaka earning Kyousuke after defeating Hitomi, and while things ended badly for that timeline's Homura, she still got her wish to save Madoka. The only person who suffers greatly in retrospect is Madoka herself, who now [[WhoWantsToLiveForever is immortal]]]].
* DramaticIrony: During their stay in Madoka's world, Nicholas tells the Watcher that they've saved Mami. [[spoiler:What he doesn't know is that as he was saying this, Mami was killed by Mutsuki]].
%%* TheEmpire: Dai-Shocker
* EnergyWeapon:
** All kinds of them. Up to a swords made of ''despair'' and ''friendship''.
** The Ha'tak has these.
%%* EroticEating: Etna does this in the Dai-Shocker mess hall.
* EtTuBrute:
** Michael's reaction when he learned of August's FaceHeelTurn.
** The Daishuryou has a reaction to Lewis' betrayal similar to Tsukasa's reaction to [[spoiler:Kaito's betrayal]] in the final episode of ''Series/KamenRiderDecade''.
* EvilCounterpart: Non-human example: The Star Shards are exactly like the Power Shards... except they turn the extractee's soul into surplus energy for the injector to use and grant several powers to boot.
* EvilIsOneBigHappyFamily: In Dai-Shocker, there's Kios the father, Lilly the mother, Nanabey the daughter, and August the son, all acting as a happy family. This gets cruelly subverted by both Envy and Tsukasa, who ruin that relationship hard.
** Even with Kios completely gone, Lilly still believes in saving him, and August still loves his dear father, even going as far as to threaten someone that is using his form:
---> '''August:''' ...You know what?...I really don't care what's actually happening here. You're wearing his face and using his voice...and I'm having a lot of trouble controlling myself. Five seconds. Run or die.
** Though Nanabey on the other hand decided to up and quit, finding herself in the care of Etna and Flonne.
* ExpendableAlternateUniverse: Most of the time, there is a complete disregard for alternate universes and how they would be effected by certain changes from nearly everyone, even the Guardian of the Multiverse himself, as he considered destroying one world to rid of a bunch of trouble makers. This, however, is touched up upon by Nicholas when [[spoiler:they have Kazuma defeated and wonder what to do with him given he's practically immortal, as he expresses concerns to Blade's World and the contextual consequences if he's been sealed or otherwise killed]].
* ExplosionPropulsion: Falkon rides an explosion's shockwave to reach a witch.
* FaceHeelTurn: [[spoiler:August switches sides during the fourth arc, claiming that pacifism isn't really his thing.]]
** [[spoiler: Nanabey also switches sides, though it was mostly due to wanting to be protected.]]
* FacePalm: Michael does this when the group barrel rolls a transport ship.
* FandomNod: The Wizard of Oz's world nods to the [[spoiler: the interpretation that Glinda is evil]]. Doctor Who's world had the Doctor as a pony in Equestria.
* FishPeople: Griga, as well as all the other Zoras that have appeared
* FixFic: Attempted in Madoka's world. It didn't end well, though it was subverted to a degree, as everyone but Madoka, Homura, and Hitomi earned a happy ending.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: When Anny, a succubus, leaves the bar and the Brotherhood comments on her, Nicholas says he had the weirdest boner. When they become the costumes, Nicholas gets possessed not by the actual Yami Yugi, but his Abridged counterpart. For those not getting the reference, the line "I have the weirdest boner right now." was a running gag for the 55th episode of the Abridged series.
* ForgedByTheGods: The Master Sword was forged by the Gods, with the goal to kill Demise. Somehow, Falkon ended up with it.
* FriendlyFireproof: Averted in the battle with Mutsuki, where Falkon's energy blasts proved more dangerous for his allies than their foe.
* FromASingleCell: Subverted. Kios, thanks the Homunculi, can regenerate from anything, as long as he has enough fuel.
* GoForTheEye: Mary attempts this against Kios, but is dodged.
* GoKartingWithBowser: As a result of the GoldenEnding in Avatar's World, anyone in that world are required to co-exist in peace, even if they are enemies.
* TheGodsMustBeLazy: There are three Monitors and an entire multiverse being torn apart by a war. Only ''one'' of them is doing something about it while the two others have their own agendas. This is especially noticeable in Madoka's World. Though halfway through, it's pretty clear that the one person [[WellIntentionedExtremist is willing to do whatever it takes]], and another person is simply allowing humans to declare war because of how "meddling saved the world before".
* GoingCommando: August takes it further during the rescue of Viktor, and only wears a trenchcoat.
* GoldenEnding: It's rare for a world to actually end on a happy note, so this comes up. One world that has a memorable one is Avatar's Arc, [[spoiler:Where even if Azula is now the Avatar, her love for Fate and Ozu caused her to make a HeelFaceTurn and become a BigGood, and even make the world a peaceful place, in which even ''[[MultiversalConqueror Tsukasa]]'' wishes for there to be no battles there]]. [[spoiler:It gets subverted, however, with a whole bunch of whams and a meeting]].
* GroinAttack: Jenny does this to Kios.
* HalloweenEpisode: The World of ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'', with a becoming your costume plot.
* HealingFactor: Masjora(and all the primary souls it's absorbed), Anno, and several others all have this ability.
* HealingHands: Viktor can heal others using [[Franchise/{{Naruto}} Sakura's]] power, Philosopher can with the sonic screwdriver, Oleg is getting into with with the Book of Prophecy and Sam has Waterbending.
* HelmetsAreHardlyHeroic: Averted, most characters that wear PowerArmor have, and use, a helmet. Though considering how most of the people wearing PowerArmor are ''bad guys''...
* HeroicVow: Viktor is a pacifist, and will not allow Imperium members to kill or hurt people, if he has a say in it.
* HijackedByGanon: ''Three'' Ganons, no less! The first Ganon is the Great Leader of Daishocker, reduced to a Core Medal by Ash and placed inside Tsukasa. The second Ganon becomes Majora, who hijacks Envy and the amalgam of the six other Homunculi, and finally, [[spoiler: the ultimate Big Bad is the Anti-Spiral King, who had been posing as Guardian of the Multiverse]].
* HomeBase: the Ha'tak and [[MidSeasonUpgrade Gaoh-Liner]] are this for the Imperium, The Gojyu Drill for the Dai-Gurren Brigade, and finally, The World That Never Was for Dai-Shocker.
* IfYouKillHimYouWillBeJustLikeHim: Basically spoken by Viktor about the entirety of Dai-Shocker. Michael disagrees.
* InSeriesNickname: Falkon goes by Falkon, and most people don't even know that his name is actually Falkonerie. He prefers to keep it that way.
** Viktor is sometimes referred to as "the Captain", while Kios is often called "subhuman", "conman", or "homunculus", especially by August.
* InstantArmor: Asssorted Kamen Riders from both Dai-Shocker and the Imperium can do this.
* KarmaHoudini: Subverted for [[spoiler: Puddinghead]]. While the Imperium doesn't really do anything to him due to having bigger fish to fry, Nicholas calls him out, the Ghostbusters and WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom chase him across town, and The Watcher downright murders him for what he committed.
* KnightTemplar: The Blue Spirit is willing to do whatever it takes to keep "balance" in the multiverse, like destroying travelers she views as "imbalances".
* LaResistance: Subverted. The Red Pirates weren't formed to rebel against Dai-Shocker, but rather to research on things. They just wound up fighting Dai-Shocker because they saw the pirates as a threat.
* LegionOfEvil: Dai-Shocker ''tried'' to do this after Madoka's World, but it crumbled apart so fast as three of its members died after one trip to Hibiki's World.
* LittleBitBeastly: Meowrin, Chirin, Daring Do, Akakabuto, and Nanabey are this, the latter four being due to Spiral Energy.
* LizardFolk: Kios is transformed into this by Mary, and Envy does the same thing to several actors soon after he stole Majora's Mask.
* MacrossMissileMassacre: Side Basshar's signature move. [[spoiler: Used in conjunction with [[Series/KamenRiderOOO Birth]]'s [[WaveMotionGun cell burst]] to finish off the Mami Witchnoch]].
* MakingASplash: Sam wields Katara's shard, allowing her to wield water as a weapon.
* McGuffin: The Power Shards, which allow whoever it's injected into to inherit special powers from whoever its extracted from, and their DeadlyUpgrade, the Star Shards, which gives the holder more powers and a huge amount of bonus energy to spend at the expense of the extractee's life.
** There is also "The Power", the original power source that every other source is based off, which the Red Pirates had sacrificed their lives in order to find out. [[spoiler: It's actually [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Spiral Energy]].]]
%%* MegaCrossover
* MeleeATrois: A majority of the RPG's conflict is this. A large battle between the Imperium [[note]]Our good guys[[/note]], Dai-Shocker [[note]]Our bad guys[[/note]], and the Dai-Gurren Brigade [[note]]a bunch of neutrals who follow The Monitors[[/note]]. This is actually highlighted the most in Madoka's World, in which The Brigade is trying to summon Walpurgisnacht, Dai-Shocker is trying to control it, and the Imperium trying to stop them from doing either. There's also the Pantheon Of The Demented and The Monitors, but it seems they have no side to take, the former mostly because they're against ''everyone''. Later on, it gets confusing, with the Checkmate Four forming [[note]]Villains who want Tsukasa gone[[/note]] and the Red Pirates returning [[note]]Heroes who see everyone as a threat[[/note]]. Subverted by the end of the Avatar Arc, as they make it pretty clear that everyone is in an EnemyMine situation against Envy, Tsukasa, and the Guardian.
* MidSeasonUpgrade: Several characters gain new powers and abilities in the middle of the run, such as Viktor gaining Sakura's powers, John obtaining several Core Medals, Nicholas bonding with Ultraman Zero (and then later getting Rider's shard), Jenny switching out Sayaka's shard for Fate's Shard, Oleg getting Eternal's Lost Driver, etc.
* TheMultiverse: Of the ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'' variety.
* MutualKill: Both Tsukasa and Marvelous give each other this in the beginning of the RPG. Tsukasa was the only survivor of the fight, however.
* MyNaymeIs: Falkonerie, and by extension, Falkon.
* MythologyGag: Majora curses August, and turns him into an 8 year old, much to Kios enjoyement, who suggest "Full Metal Shrimp" as a nickname for August.
* NamesGivenToComputers: N.A.V.I, the Ha'tak's AI, is Type 1.
** As is M.A.M.I, the Tel'tak's AI.
* NarrativeProfanityFilter: Jenny's GenderBender contains something "that won't be described here in order to keep this PG-13."
* NaturalWeapon: Mutsuki's boils work similarly to tear gas.
* NextSundayAD: The story for the RPG began on May 25th of 2012, a good four months after the RPG actually began. Though this was to accommodate for a piece of information that one of the characters used that wasn't available to them if it was set during the date as it began. When the character left, there's been debates regarding of changing it.
** Inverted in the final stage of the RPG. [[spoiler: Daishuryou and Madoka attack the Earth on December 21st, 2012, which was around four weeks before the RPG actually got to that point]].
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: [[spoiler: The Incubators years of harvesting magical girls to stop the heat death had the unfortunate side effect of not only pushing the world towards Spiral Nemesis, but also having all that emotional energy build up and recreate the Anti-Spiral]].
* NonSerialMovie: The one-off RPG ">Rufio: Make Him Pay", which is the Brotherhood in the movie ''Film/{{Hook}}''. It doesn't even try to show where it takes place in continuity, as people from different points in continuity and even a few new characters pop in.
* OhCrap: When Falkon finds himself face to face with Mary, this occurs.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Falkon introduces himself as Falkon, and prefers to not give his full name to people. Later joined by Flanker.
* OrificeInvasion: Majora's Mask "bonds" with it's hosts by sending tentacles from an unknown source inside the mask into the mouth, nose, and ears of it's host, granting them higher reality warping power and granting it a stronger hold on their mind.
* ThePasswordIsAlwaysSwordfish: Luffy's Ha'tak security password is the name of his brother, Ace. {{Justified|Trope}} as it's more of a password for in case something happens to Luffy rather than to prevent any intruders from taking over.
* PetTheDog: Kios may be a power hungry conman, but he still loves Nanabey.
* PinballProjectile: During the rescue of Viktor, August shoots the wall, causing it to ricochet into Kios head.
* PlayingTheVictimCard: Kios has attempted this several times.
* PlayingWithFire: Both Michael and Alicia have this kind of power.
* {{Portmanteau}}: Mary's nickname for Nanabey, Crabbit, is a combination of Cat and Rabbit.
* PowerCreepPowerSeep: Series/KamenRiderDecade's powers are upgraded, and thus he is able to use the powers of not only the nine other riders, but also the three riders after him. Not only that, he is able to use these powers ''outside of his suit''.
** Meanwhile, the Gokaigers seem to have the blunt end of the stick, with their Ranger Keys not actually allowing them to don the Ranger Suits, but rather are lite versions of the Power Shards, granting temporary power. This also seems true for other Sentai teams, as the Shinkengers don't transform and instead use their weapons outside of their suit, save for Takeru, who ''did'' happen to be in suit when fighting Ash. However, this gets subverted by Akared, who gives the Gokaigers their Transformation Trinkets and allows them to transform.
** Speaking of Ash, Ankh too gets an upgrade. He has nearly every Core Medal, and can make ''more'' Core Medals by putting a cell medal in someone's head. Yes, the same method Greeeds use to make Yummies is now the method used to make Core Medals.
* PowerCrystal: Nicholas' Color Timer acts as both this and as a life support machine.
* PoweredArmor: Tsukasa, Lilly, Lewis, Mutsuki, Eiji, and Falkon all have at least one suit of powered armor.
* RainbowSpeak:
** Several characters speak in Rainbow Speak. Lampshaded.
--->'''Jenny:''' ''[to Viktor]'' Your hair seems to be changing colour.
--->'''Michael:''' And you're speaking in pink— I mean, in a different manner.
--->'''Jenny:''' Can you see something the rest of us can't? Because last time I checked voices didn't have colours.
** And after that, Jenny starts speaking in blue. [[spoiler: She later starts speaking in gold after being implanted with Fate's Star Shard, although the voice in her head that's still actually her stays blue.]]
** During the conversation, Nicholas tried to talk in rainbow speak... [[SubvertedTrope only to not say anything in color]]. [[DoubleSubverted When he's himself]]. When he's Ultraman Zero or possessed by Rider on the other hand...
** John's speech changes based on the medal used for his helmet and Oleg's depending on what Memory he uses for transformation.
** Most egregious case is the Majora, who changes colours every couple words.
** When people tap into Spiral Power, they speak in teal text.
* RedemptionDemotion: [[spoiler:The entire Dai-Gurren Brigade get severely punished for becoming good guys by getting their dosage of Spiral Energy cut off. Subverted however since Gai and Daring Do had gained enough willpower to make their own Spiral Energy, though played [[HeelFaceDoorSlam very straight]] for Chirin and Akakabuto, though on their own terms (Chirin wanted to die anyways, and Akakabuto rampaged as a Zodiarts and had to be taken down). Meanwhile, Deus gets this by getting his Spiral Energy cut off, and thus [[YourDaysAreNumbered as a limited amount of time to live]]]].
* ReformedButRejected: [[spoiler:What Jenny fears after being asked to play FakeDefector by a third party.]]
* RidingIntoTheSunset: While no one actually does this, the portrait to Linkara's World has this as its portrait.
* SadisticChoice: ComicBook/TheJoker hangs [[Franchise/{{Batman}} Bruce Wayne]] and Kios over two vats of acid, and forces the Imperium to pick one. Nicholas and George save them both.
* SecretTestOfCharacter: [[spoiler:Envy's quest for power has been revealed to be this by The Guardian. Had the Brotherhood and Dai-Shocker got into an EnemyMine situation and defeated Envy, they would have succeeded, but Daishuryou's alliance with Father and going back on his word had the consequence of the test to fail, and so as a consequence, The Guardian sends Madoka, in Zearth, to go destroy the Brotherhood's home world]].
* ShoutOut:
** For one, the very title is "[[Series/KamenRiderDecade Journey Through The Decade]]", with Multiverse replacing Decade.
** There's a ton of Gurren Lagann quotes, most of them reworded to fit a new context. It even gets lampshades by Oleg as he makes a DrinkingGame out of it. Not to mention that there's a character who is entirely influenced by Gurren Lagann [[spoiler: and even follows around a Gurren Lagann character]].
** The fact that it begins with a confrontation between Captain Marvelous and Kadoya Tsukasa echos that of Film/KamenRiderXSuperSentaiSuperHeroTaisen.
** N.A.V.I. serves a dual shoutout. For one, Navi was the name of Marvelous' robotic parrot from Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger, while its blue text, avatar, and role serve more as [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime another Navi]].
*** Becomes [[HilariousInHindsight even more funny]] when Falkon arrives with [[Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda Link's]] powers.
*** As if that's not enough, the Tel'tak's A.I. is named [[Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica M.A.M.I.]], which doubles as an ActorAllusion, as both Navi and Mami were voiced by the same actress.
** After he's sent to the ship, Michael reveals [[Franchise/TheHitchhikersGuidetotheGalaxy he could never get the hang of Thursdays.]]
** After Mutsuki joined Dai-Shocker, Michael reveals [[Franchise/StarWars that he felt a strange disturbance in the force.]]
** During the BreakingTheFourthWall Discussion above, August questions whether the Fourth Wall is actually being broken and comes to the conclusion that Tropers playing characters as the Tropers that play them as they discuss tropes is just counts as a terrible ''Film/{{Inception}}'' reference.
** Every time the Imperium goes to a new world, a song[[note]]An orchestral rendition of "[[Manga/KOn Don't Say Lazy]]"[[/note]] plays that is eerily similar to a song played in ''Series/KamenRiderDecade'' that uses almost the same context for the song. Not to mention that they are shown a pretty picture about that world, just like in Decade. This stopped as soon as other ways of going to worlds were found. The song played in Kamen Rider Decade ''does'' indeed play, but to a rather shocking moment.
** Our Earth is called The World Of Lilim. [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion One work]] used that word to describe humanity. [[spoiler:[[HumansAreCthulhu Not in a good way neither]].]]
** During the fight with Mutsuki, Michael thinks how the other crew members can help him in the battle... until he gets to Philosopher, the [[Series/DoctorWho Doctor]] impersonator, whom he think should just [[VideoGame/TeamFortress2 ubercharge someone.]]
** When suggesting how to attract the Imperium's attention, Kios suggests the Joker should do a parade, [[Film/TheDarkKnight blow up a hospital]] and [[Franchise/StarWars drop a bomb in a key location that will blow up a very important building.]]
** When presented with a SadisticChoice, Nicholas takes the time to call out the Joker for ripping off [[Film/SpiderMan1 Norman Osborne's]] shtick.
** During the climactic warehouse chase and battle with the Joker, things are interrupted for a moment as [[DissonantSerenity August beats up on six mooks at once while singing snatches of]] [[VideoGame/Portal2 Cara Mia Addio]].
** Falkon's dream scenes are filled to the brim with references to ''Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda''.
** At one point Michael says to Nicholas that [[Film/GoneWithTheWind he doesn't give a damn.]]
** Michael tells the crew a joke that starts with [[WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender "an earthbender and an airbender walk into a bar..."]]
** Once approached by Falkon, Kios starts singing [[WesternAnimation/AGoofyMovie "do you need a break from modern living?..."]]
** Another one by Kios: once Mutsuki gives August a not-so-warm welcome to the Dai-Shockers, Kios tells him that [[Series/{{Cheers}} "this isn't a place where everybody knows your name- and really, no one's glad you came."]]
** When confronted by a woman that asks if he is from the Dai-Shocker, Kios makes up a story that August is his brother. The fake name he used? [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Simon.]]
** Nanabey apparently has [[WesternAnimation/ThePrincessAndTheFrog Friends on the Other Side.]]
** Nicholas' BigDamnHeroes Moment for Mami is him rebounding off the ropes, tackling Kios headfirst, and smashing him through a door, all while shouting "[[Anime/UltimateMuscle Muscle Millennium]]", a move which has something similar in the execution.
** Nicholas says the "[[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Are you satisfied with this world?]]" line to two guys before he tries to murder them.
** Tsukasa's BadassBoast was basically his version of the Angels' BadassBoast from ''Fanfic/NobodyDies''. [[spoiler:Ironic considering that he was piloting EVA 01 at the moment]].
** After the failure of harvesting WPN's power then returning to HQ defeated and dejected, Tsukasa tells Lewis to call every Dai-Shocker operative for a meeting.
--->'''Tsukasa:''' ... It failed... Lewis... Bring me everyone.\
'''Linkara:''' Uh... Every-\
'''Tsukasa:''' '''''[[Film/TheProfessional EVERYONNNNNNNNNE!]]'''''
** The first combo using more than three medals [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers is Elephant/Pteranodon/Triceratops/Sabretooth Tiger/Tyrannosaurus]].
** The Sonic Rainboom scene is pretty reminiscent of [[spoiler:[[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Kittan's death scene]]]], complete with the "This drill is my soul!" line and the very same song playing in the background.
** When Azula finally takes over Alicia, she transferred the prisioners (Zuko and Toph) to her room and proceeded to torture each and every one of her prisioners to the tune of "I Can't Decide", similar to what a [[Series/DoctorWho certain Master did.]]
** Gai notes the GoldenEnding to Avatar's World and says that Azula [[Anime/CodeGeass "Destroyed the world and created it anew"]]. (Note that she also used the same power as the referenced guy did.)
** Guess what Time Memory's FinishingMove [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure is]]. Though the world it was performed in lacked any roadrollers, Oleg has taken measures to prepare for a full execution of it later.
** The EnemyMine alliance gets the name of [[Anime/DigimonFusion Xros Heart]], while a prediction from Akared says that there will be a battle called the [[Anime/DigimonXrosWarsTheYoungHuntersWhoLeaptThroughTime Legend Xros Wars]].
** Also, during the meeting, Tsukasa has some of his mooks interrupt the meeting with [[Anime/BlackRockShooter Chariot's Spider Mech]].
** Grey talks about her day, and John's response.
--->'''Grey:''' All I've seen so far are cheap monsters eating students and a couple of spandexed men prancing around in colorful tights."
--->'''John:''' [[Series/PowerRangersRPM ...It's not spandex.]]
** "[[Webcomic/{{Homestuck}} Mustang: make]] [[Film/{{Hook}} him pay]]."
** Conor is told he won't last two seconds if he tries to train in earthbending. His response?
---> "'''''[[VisualNovel/AceAttorney OBJECTION!]]'''''"
** Just before Daishuryou and Linkara fight, Daishuryou has this to say (with Linkara's response also adding to the shout-out)
---> '''Daishuryou:''' [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion Lewis Lovhaug... The truth is...]] [...]
---> '''Linkara:''' [[FacingTheBulletsOneLiner Heh. You liar!]]
---> '''''BANG!'''''
** Meowrin's InTheNameOfTheMoon speech against the giant [[Franchise/TheDCU Composite Superman]] would sound suspiciously familiar to fans of [[Anime/{{Daitarn3}} old super robot shows...]]
---> '''Meowrin:''' For the world, for the people, the Great Overlord Meowrin will smash the ambitions of Composite Superman! If you don't fear the shine of the sun... Then '''BRING IT ON!'''
*** And afterwards, she and Jenny finish him off with an ''[[Anime/{{Diebuster}} Inazuma Double]] [[Series/KamenRiderFourze Rocket Kick!]]''
* SpiderSense: Thanks to being an Orphnoch, Mutsuki's instincts give him this. Though it isn't necessarily a good thing for him to have.
%%* SplitPersonality: Austin and Philosopher
* StableTimeLoop: Even though Philosopher changed the past, the present is still the same. However, the changed future branched out to another world.
* SuperMode: Ten and Gig, Mary, Mutsuki, Kios, and many other characters have these.
* SupernaturalMartialArts: Sam and Alicia were given shards with the power of Water Bending and Fire Bending respectively, both of which are forms of martial arts used to control the elements.
* SuperPowerLottery: The Shards are these. Injecting yourself with one may give you a cool power, like PlayingWithFire, or a power that by itself sound laughable, like [[TakenForGranite turning into stone]]. Dai-Shocker actually manages to cheat the lottery by having mutagens that mutate the shards to grant more properties, or by creating Star Shards, which takes all the qualities of the extractee.
* SuperSpeed: Sarah has this thanks to Tsukasa's mutagen.
* SwissCheeseSecurity: various characters have been transported directly into the Ha'tak without raising any alarms, and yet Mutsuki managed to trip the alarms by banging on the outside of the ship with a briefcase.
* TakingYouWithMe: [[spoiler: Roy blows himself along with Kios... It doesn't stick for Kios]].
* TalkingAnimal: Nanabey was this before becoming a LittleBitBeastly
* TechnicolorFire: Alicia's blue fire.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech[=/=]WhatTheHellHero: Gai gets a double-whammy.
--->'''Gai:''' Oh... Right... That. The Drill is trying to make an era of peace... But... I don't think what he's doing... I don't think it's right. But... if it's to ensure peace... then... I have to stand behind him.\
'''John:''' Do you know how many times someone has done something evil 'In the name of peace', Gai? The Drill... No, Gurren Lagann is using you. It wants everything either dead or mindless. Ask yourself... would a hero accept that, or would they punch on through? Me? I'm going to clean up your boss's mess before everyone I care about ends up a placid vegetable.\
'''Oleg:''' Really, Gai? What you have there is not burning heart. That's nothing. You and your robot master are pathetic caricatures of true Gurren-dan.
* TownContestEpisode: When the heroes arrive at The World of Phantoms, a town contest was just beginning which involved the capturing (or killing) of ghosts.
* ThrowingYourSwordAlwaysWorks: Jenny is forced to resort to this when fighting against [[spoiler: Orphnoch!Hitomi]].
* TimeTravel: Austin's tech is none other than the [[Series/DoctorWho TARDIS]], leading to quite a bit of time travel. Later acquired Gaoh Liner is also capable of this, but it's not used to that end extensively.
* TrashTalk: While various characters do this, Kios does this every time he has the chance.
* TurnCoat: So far, August and Nanabey have both went through a FaceHeelTurn, and Jenny may be a FakeDefector.
* TwistedEchoCut: These occur often with Kios and Michael.
* TwoScenesOneDialogue: During the Walpurgisnacht briefing, both Tsukasa and Gai take part in this.
* WhamEpisode:
** When talking pages? Page 100. [[spoiler: [[Manga/FullMetalAlchemist Roy Mustang]] ''dies'', [[Manga/FutureDiary Deus Ex Machina]] appears, Viktor is taken hostage, George's mind is shattered when his jobs try to integrate with his mind, and Dai-Shocker develop a ray gun that takes powerful versions of the Power Shards... at the cost of the extractee's life.]]
** And when talking worlds? Madoka's World, though mostly after the H. N. Elly fight. [[spoiler: Mutsuki sires Mami into an Orphnoch form ''just'' as she becomes a Witch, Nanabey is turned into a human by Gai after he shows her Spiral Energy first hand, and Hitomi comes back from the dead... as an Orphnoch. Not to mention that the Seer told Homura about the fact that the Imperium and other people came from another world ''and'' convinced Hitomi to become a {{yandere}}.]] Then it gets worse during the WPN incident. How? [[spoiler:Tsukasa brings [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion EVA 01]] into the mess, and it goes berserk, absorbing WPN and effectively becoming a fusion of a Witch and an Angel. And while it got dispatched pretty easily, what happens next becomes more shocking. The Watcher is revealed to be Post-CosmicRetcon Homura, Deus takes away her powers and banishes her to another realm, and '''Nicholas dies'''. Then another Homura '''''witches out'''''. It all turns out to be Deus' plan, and he takes her to the Guardian, who is Super Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann. Not only that, but Gai takes Madoka under his wing, as she joins the Dai-Gurren Brigade.]]
** While the Imperium, Dai-Gurren, and Pantheon were enjoying a good old BeachEpisode, Dai-Shocker began to splinter off after one of them finds that their leader has killed Lilly. Who did they splinter off into? [[Series/KamenRiderKiva The Checkmate Four]]. As if that wasn't enough, Marvelous comes back. Soon, Envy's reign has caused Tsukasa/Daishuyro to reconsider his decision to make him a God, and a powerful EnemyMine situation had to be created. Also, Ahim comes to the group and tells them all about the Legend Xros Wars, which may destroy the entire Multiverse. Where did she get this from? Akared. From the ''other'' Gokaiger world. And then after that's done, Tsukasa still makes a deal with Father. Not only that, but the Guardian then takes Madoka and makes her a human version of '''[[DarkMessiah Kriemhild]] [[WellIntentionedExtremist Gretchen]]'''
** Linkara's World had a big wham episode from the get go with a pretty high number of deaths ([[spoiler:Suzaku, Wataru, Lewis' Sister in a backstory, Nolan, Lord Vyce, Ash (though it's complicated) and Dunbar/Ichigo. Lewis ''almost'' died, but was saved by Roy]].)
** And in a single post, there's a massive wham in the form of [[spoiler:Both Daishuryou and Madoka attacking Earth/The World of Lilim on ''December 21st, 2012'']]! This is so whammy that it's played like a damn cliffhanger, complete with ToBeContinued and an ending song!
* WhamLine:
** N.A.V.I. delivers a few to the Imperium in regards to a retired Bruce Wayne.
** In regards to who Tsukasa recruits when in the World of the Full Metal Alchemist: [[spoiler: "How prideful. [[MeaningfulName Suits your true name.]]"]]
** When talking to Gai about him finding the source of "The Power", Michael makes a little joke.
--->'''Gai:''' It spoke to me... and gave me part of [[HotBlooded its burning soul]]!
--->'''Michael:''' [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann And a drill?]]
--->'''Gai:''' ...[[IWasJustJoking Yes.]]
** Page 348 has two wham lines, the first is revealing the master plan of the Dai-Gurrens, ("[[spoiler:Is it cause the Spiral Nemesis, crushing all known universes together into a single point, eradicating all life as we know it?]]") and the other being a SomethingOnlyTheyWouldSay moment ("[[spoiler:Sunshine, Sunshine, Ladybug Awake, Clap your hooves and do a little shake!]]")
** Even the Guardian drops a wham line when talking to Anbey. "[[spoiler:... Thank you, Incubator. For all those times you've scarred a girl into contracting with your kind. For all those times they've turned into horrific monsters. [[NiceJobBreakingItHero Your attempts to stave off the heat death...]] [[BackFromTheDead Has caused me to be reborn...]]]]" Even if you have no idea what he's talking about, [[spoiler: the change in his RainbowText is pretty bad news]].
* WhatMeasureIsANonHuman: Or rather, what measure is a ''fictional'' human. This gets {{discussed}} in Madoka's World between The Watcher and Nicholas, with the Watcher confused as to why Nicholas wished to change the ending of the show, even though it's the true ending.
%%* WolfMan: Rage was this.
%%* {{Yandere}}: [[spoiler:Hitomi after being turned into an Orphnoch]].
* YourSoulIsMine:
** Kios's plan is to consume all six of the remaining Homunculi.
