Honorable Hogwarts is a PlayByPostGames play by post roleplaying game set about a year after the seventh and final Literature/HarryPotter book. It is known for its convoluted, labyrinthine and troperrific storyline (the site emphasizes writing/storytelling over roleplaying, and because at least eight tropers are featured among its regular members is rather brightly lit).

This site is a Sequel follow-up to the now-defunct Hogwarts Rising, a similar site that took place during the Canon Harry Potter storyline. It continues following the Fanon non-canon characters from that site, with Jason Frost (who on the old site was set up as a Lancer for Harry) now playing the role of main character. The site has a SpinOff, Hogwarts Futures, which follows the activities of various characters seventeen years later. Much of the plot comes from them dealing with the extended fallout of their own actions during the Honorable Hogwarts timeframe, as well as introducing several older, more manipulative antagonists and a new generation of student wizards.

Because this site's storyline is Gorn much, much DarkerAndEdgier than the actual Harry Potter books... some say it's good, and others say they need BrainBleach after viewing it.

Honorable Hogwarts can be found here, and Hogwarts Futures can be found here. There is also a Prequel FanFic in the works, which tells what the characters on the site were doing during the timeframe of Literature/HarryPotterAndTheDeathlyHallows.

----
!!This site provides examples of the following tropes:
%% * AbortedArc: Sometimes, when a player leaves the site for good, their characters' side storylines just get dropped entirely.
* AccidentalAimingSkills: Rare non-combat version. In this thread, the Gryffindor Quidditch team's Seeker (a playing position from which goals are not usually scored) tries her hand at shooting goals and actually makes her first shot, then admits she was aiming for one of the other goal hoops.
%% * ActionGirl: Lena Lacy.
* ActorAllusion: Jason's Quidditch nickname, Pinata, is also the internet screenname of the guy who plays him.
%% * AlliterativeName:
%% ** Bella Banning
%% ** Edeline Emerson
%% ** Lena Lacy
%% ** The main site's title.
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: One of the few ways in which this site is similar to Canon... the evil Slytherins and wealthy Death Eaters are quite popular at first, and the protagonists are mostly social outcasts for one reason or another.
* AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs: Several attacks against Hogwarts and the Ministry by Death Eaters fall squarely under this trope. The Ottery St. Catchpole thread also probably qualifies.
* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: invoked Harry's not a noble idealist, he's a dangerously wimpy pacifist who gets people killed; Colin Creevey's actually really a chainsmoking BadassBiker who knows not only IKnowKarate kung fu but also LeParkour; Draco Malfoy is actually not that bad a guy, and capable of HeroicSacrifice if need be (not to mention wearing leather pants).
%% * AmbiguouslyGay: Avilon Rayne.
* AmbiguouslyJewish: The Zotermeer brothers. Their names are Jacob and Isaac, they're both rather good with money, and Jacob was once heard to say "Oy vey." But their exact religion/ethnic heritage has never been specifically stated, so they might not be Jews at all.
* AnachronicOrder: Because some people are online a lot and others only check in off and on, some arcs move faster than others... this means that certain areas of the plot are sometimes as much as half a year ahead of others.
%% ** So, Anya's baby being born so "early" makes sense in context.
%% * AntiHero: Jason.
%% * AntiVillain: Aldous Conor.
%% * AnyoneCanDie: Whoo boy.
%% * ArcWords:
%% ** "Someone's at the door." Almost a CatchPhrase for River. Although it is a bit of a ShoutOut to Series/AmericanGothic1995, the meaning of the words is entirely different here.
%% ** Also spoken by River: "I am Kali the Goddess of Death." If you hear her say this, run.
* AscendedExtra: Xanthe Chapel, Trowa Marshall, Alvin Pairis, Blair Duchess, Abrianna Madoc and Sally Carinaris were nowhere near as important to the plot as they are now when they first started out. With CharacterDevelopment and more frequent logins by the people playing them, however, they've become main characters.
%% * AssholeVictim: The only thing that's kept Jason from crossing the MoralEventHorizon is that the people he's maiming, torturing and killing usually deserve it. Also, Ando Saeki's first kill was , who definitely had it coming. Doesn't make Ando any better, but killing her was arguably a PetTheDog moment.
%% * TheAtoner: Turin Holdsclaw. Yes, Turin.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: River learned martial arts from watching internet videos.
%% * AxCrazy: Rupert Wotan, even if his weapon was a knife.
%% * BackFromTheDead: was resurrected by Aldous Conor.
%% * BackToBackBadasses: Jason and Lena in the Battle of Azkaban, Jason and Madeline in the Battle of St. Mungo's.
%% * BadassAdorable: River has elements of this, especially when she goes all "Kali Goddess of Death".
%% ** Envy as well.
%% * BadassBack: Jason, Lena, Colin, Alvin, Darius and Taffy are all quite fond of this fighting style.
%% * BadassBiker: Colin Creevey bought Hagrid's flying motorcycle. He was already a badass at the time.
%% * BadassBookworm:
%% ** Luna Lovegood, Abel King, Trowa Marshall, Alvin Pairis, Sally Carinaris... the bad guys have Natalia Dragomir.
%% ** Once Xanthe Chapel no longer qualifies for Lolita status, she will be one of these.
%% ** Ratree Surkhanfa qualifies as well. In the words of the person playing her, she is "a meek nerd with combat skills".
* BadassCreed: Jason, addressing the other inaugural members of the Order of the Silver Dagger for the first time, told them: "From this point forth we show no mercy, give no quarter, and take no prisoners. If they want to call themselves the Death Eaters, then let them taste death!" The last line of this became the group's official motto.
%% * BadassLongcoat: Roland Wainwright.
%% * BadassLongrobe: Kelvin Hornbuckle.
* BadassNormal: The first two Muggle characters introduced on the site, David Markov and Ray Garside, turned out to be much more badass than many of the wizard characters.
* BadassTeacher: Applies to several characters, but particularly Fred Colton, Debra Reynolds and Brodie Carinaris. Also, [=McGonagall=] is a Canon example.
* BadGuysDoTheDirtyWork: Tawnie has moral qualms about using deadly force against the Brotherhood of the Light. Not to worry... she shares a psychic link with Sasha Rookwood, who has no problem whatsoever assuming control of Tawnie's mind and body and firing off a Killing Curse.
%% * BastardUnderstudy: Jason, to Aldous Conor. And on the SpinOff site, to Jacob Zotermeer.
%% * BattleCouple: Colin Creevey and Lena Lacy.
* BattleInTheRain: The Ottery St. Catchpole thread. Lot of explosives in use considering the inclement weather, too.
* BearsAreBadNews: Subverted. During the Battle of Ottery St. Catchpole, Cimarron magically summons a bear and it proceeds to start fighting on the good guys' side and eating her enemies.
* BerserkButton
** Most major characters have developed a Protectorate by now; Madeline especially is one of these for Jason.
** Brent Phanan goes quite literally AxCrazy over child abuse.
** Lucy Frost is has a borderline HairTriggerTemper when it comes to political issues (the environment's especially a major sticking point with her).
** Willow is this for Envy. Rape/molestation are for the girl who plays hers.
** Don't pick on the name of the city of Bangkok in front of Ratree. She's pretty much guaranteed to go off on you. For that matter, don't change her name to "Rat Tree" either.
* BestialityIsDepraved: Lampshaded by Cimarron.
-->Envy: So I take it you're into girls?
-->Cimarron: Girls, boys, goats... whatever's available.
* BigBadWannabe: Orville Brand, pretty much since the site started. See the SmugSnake entry below for a possible reason why he'll never actually be the BigBad.
%% * BigGood: Possibly Sakiko, which would likely make her the first ever bisexual example of this trope.
* BlackAndGrayMorality: Jason is made of this trope. There's also the fact that the site's best TortureTechnician, Kalia St. Clair, is working for the good guys.
%% * BloodKnight: Darius Walker. He's even got the page quote in his signature.
* BondOneLiner: Jason, after being challenged to single combat by Darius Walker and defeating him: "So, was it good for you?"
* BrainyBrunette: Acacia Webb. Strangely enough, she's also a bit attractive (Shiri Appleby for the win!).
* BrokenAce: Several, though Jason Frost, Abel King and Erastes Blake seem to be among the more prominent examples of this.
%% * BreakTheCutie: Loreley Avalon, and to a lesser extent Tawnie Hart. River Applewhite came conveniently pre-broken.
%% * BunnyEarsLawyer: Cimarron and Vix are damn good fighters for characters whose primary purpose seems to be FanService.
* TheButcher: In the Prequel FanFic, Jason names himself "The Butcher of Hogsmeade" as part of his campaign to get innocent bystanders more afraid of him than they are of Voldemort so they won't help the Dark Lord.
* CaptainErsatz: River Applewhite (River Tam), Consuela Bananahammock (Phoebe Buffett), Jacob Zotermeer (Benjamin Linus), Roland Wainwright (Roland Deschain, with magical powers), Ando Saeki (Sylar), Miranda Frost.
* CastHerd: Many characters created to fill out a specific group usually stick around that group, easily categorizing school houses or businesses. Possible Herd Leaders include Jason, Aldous, Abel, Markov, Envy, and Sakiko.
* CatchAndReturn: Jason did this with his feet once. Although admittedly, throwing knives are easier to do this with than bullets or arrows.
* Catfight: Tawnie and Summit had one in Transfiguration class once. It was a pretty intense one, too.
%% * TheChessmaster: Aldous Conor.
* ChessMotifs: Jacob Zotermeer has started using these in his dialogue recently. Though he'll still need more CharacterDevelopment before we know whether he's a Chessmaster or a MagnificentBastard (the latter is more likely, considering he's inspired by Ben Linus), pre-VillainDecay.
* ChildByRape: Ivan "Muerte" Sengir, on the SpinOff site, is the product of Cimarron Arriaga's rape during an interrogation of Irini Sengir.
* ChivalrousPervert: Kieran Halcyon. He might talk the talk, but he wouldn't act on most of the sexual innuendo he spouts... he's doing it for laughs. Besides, he might still have a shot with the one girl who's actually really caught his eye. Possibly.
%% * CloudCuckooLander: Ilyana Morus, River Applewhite. Dex Olivier seems a bit off as well.
%% ** Considering Ilyana's evil status, she might be more of an UncannyValleyGirl... however, the jury's still out on that at the moment.
* CombatPragmatist: ZigZaggingTrope. Characters who you wouldn't expect to be one are, and some of the most badass characters fall closer to HonorBeforeReason. Even in the same character there will be times where that character is pragmatic, and times where they aren't (even the worst fighters don't fall quite into IdiotBall territory, though).
%% * ContinuityLockout: A mild case. For a newcomer it can be hard to determine which order to read old threads to catch-up on-site backstory.
%% * CorruptCorporateExecutive: Pretty much everybody in The Wakefield Group.
%% * CountryMatters:
-->Jason: Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you right now, you Death Eater cunt.
%% ** Keep in mind, he said this to The Headmistress of Zephyrwit. As part of a GambitRoulette.
%% * CreepyMonotone: River tends to deliver prophecies and other insights in this tone of voice.
* CulturalTranslation: Though the bulk of the storyline does take place in England still, the American WizardingSchool (and Wizarding Village) have been introduced, causing several American characters to expand the site's population. Also, especially considering that the person playing him is an American, Jason's political views -- especially regarding the death penalty -- could be an example of this trope (though if that's the case it wasn't intentional).
%% * CuteClumsyGirl: Xanthe Chapel's clumsiness was a major character trait early on, but she's since gotten better.
%% ** Just to make sure everyone gets that she's lovably awkward, Jenica Sonsen will lapse into this from time to time as well.
%% * DaddysLittleVillain: Natalia Dragomir.
* DanceBattler: Cimarron Arriaga uses capoeira, which is one of the more common fighting styles associated with this trope.
%% * DarkActionGirl: Annika Riviera, Taffy Pole. Also, Kalia St. Clair before her HeelFaceTurn.
%% * DarkerAndEdgier: As noted in the site description above.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Lena Lacy is a Goth who is decidedly non-perky; Isabella Devincenzi and Erastes Blake are actual vampires. All of them are fighting on the side of good.
%% * DeadpanSnarker: Trowa Marshall, Zaphod Wainwright, Diop Johnson, and Diop's son Josh on the SpinOff site.
* DecapitationPresentation: Walter Zotermeer was elevated from QuirkyMinibossSquad member to pure evil in large part due to the glee with which he showed off the severed head of Chief Auror . A lot of his fellow Death Eaters seemed to be less than enthusiastic about it.
%% * DefrostingIceQueen: Miranda Frost.
* DependingOnTheWriter: As members leave the site, sometimes they will leave their characters in the hands of other roleplayers. This trope is most noticeable in the case of Lena Lacy, who has now been played by four different people.
%% * DepravedBisexual: Atreya Mourant. Cimarron Arriaga fits certain aspects as well, though she's more an example of ExtremeOmnisexual because, although some of her actions might be morally ambiguous, she's not usually depraved.
%% * TheDeterminator: Jason has aspects of this.
%% * DirtyCoward: Joel Haskell.
%% * DisproportionateRetribution: Jason's default setting.
* DistressBall: Not surprisingly, it's rather dangerous to be Jason's girlfriend. Therefore, Madeline Pairis has found herself holding this quite a few times (she's almost literally got a bullseye painted on her ass now that she's married him).
* DoorStopper: Given the length of time the site has been running, there is a lot of material to read. Some individual threads could also qualify; Count to a Billion is easily the longest OOC topic, the the Ambassadorial Ball holds the IC record.
%% * DracoInLeatherPants: invoked The whole reason the Blair Duchess character was invented, though she's since experienced copious amounts of CharacterDevelopment and become much more important to the storyline than just "Draco Malfoy's girlfriend".
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: Mostly happens to Canon characters that aren't well-liked (or need to be killed off for dramatic purposes), though a fair amount of bridges are dropped on original characters as well.
* DualWielding: Jason can do this with magic spells. So can certain other characters who cast spells without using wands, but Jason does it more often than them.
%% * EldritchAbomination / PhysicalGod: Planeswalkers can certainly end up this way, and certain other creatures on the site could fit this description. The Gaians (beings so far mentioned only in passing) are made of this Trope, as they give physical embodiment to entire concepts of reality.
* EnemyCivilWar: A favorite trope of Olivier Morges, who enjoys turning his fellow Death Eaters against each other to make himself even more useful as a TheMole.
%% * EnemyMine: Jason teams up with The Wakefield Group to take down The Brotherhood of the Light. A HeelFaceRevolvingDoor is born.
* EquippableAlly: Armamagi are witches and wizards with the ability to transform either their whole body or parts of their body into weapons. So far the only Armamagi on the site are Masher Steinbeck (mace) and Envy (scythe).
* EthicalSlut: Karina Yavimaya, and to a slightly less "ethical" extent Vix Tilmitt. Cimarron Arriaga is too unethical to be this.
%% ** Sakiko Kanazawa and Cassandra Rubicon are examples of this as well, and Lucy Frost is one on the SpinOff site. This is AuthorAppeal, since five of the six characters mentioned as examples are played by the same person and he's an EthicalSlut in RealLife.
%% * ExtremeOmnisexual: Cimarron Arriaga and Vix Tilmitt were both characters created with the intention of being "the female Jack Harkness". Obviously, that invokes this trope.
%% * EvenEvilHasStandards: Tropeby Taffy, who was subverting CombatPragmatist at the time.
%% * EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Olivia Dawson.
%% * EverythingSoundsSexierInFrench: Trope by Hugo Cutter during the Battle of Ottery St. Catchpole, while he was fighting a female vampire with a French accent.
%% * EvilIsNotAToy: The Saekis sealed Kayako inside a portrait, but couldn't resist enchanting and attempting to control the rest of the Ju-On. Holy shit, did they make a mistake.
%% * EyeScream: Has happened a couple of times, most notably with Ezekiel Nance. He likes to refer to it in his dialogue, too.
%% * FaceHeelTurn: .
%% * FanService: Many different female characters, and a handful of male ones as well, have provided this at some point or another.
%% * FantasticRacism: One of Lucy's BerserkButtons... she's constantly railing against the mistreatment of nonhumans by the wizard establishment.
%% * FantasyGunControl: Averted. Guns aren't common, and they are technically illegal in Britain, but they do pop up from time to time.
%% * FemmeFatale: Most female Death Eaters fit this trope, and Maria Fernandez on the SpinOff site is this turned up to eleven.
%% ** Lust of the Seven Sins arc is a femme fatale with a 50s pinup look.
%% * FertileFeet: Sakiko.
%% * FilleFatale: Elena Vidierra, who also counts as SpinOffspring. Her mother Alvanna is one of the scarier Femme Fatales on the main site.
%% * Foreshadowing: Some of the things listed on this page won't be happening on the actual site until later this month. Beware of spoilers, for they are rarely marked.
%% ** There are instances on the site itself as well. For example, the ghost biting Jimmy is a precursor to something more happening with him.
%% * FriendToAllLivingThings: Subverted. Lucy has aspects of this trope, but is also a budding TortureTechnician; Sakiko is a friend to all non-human living things but will gladly kill anyone standing in the way of her prophecy being fulfilled.
%% * GambitRoulette: Aldous' first gambit was a bit too convoluted to be be a mere plan
%% * GenkiGirl: Sally Carinaris. Not an extreme version but she's got a few elements. Abigail Delgado, especially when she's gotten enough candy in her. Envy Evans is also an extremely hyper, Perky Goth.
%% * AGodAmI: According to Roland Wainwright (who would know), this is the inevitable fate awaiting any Planeswalker.
%% * GoodThingYouCanHeal: Werewolves are known to be capable of regenerating fairly quickly from any injury that wasn't inflicted by either another werewolf or a silver weapon (they've even grown back severed limbs, and at a faster rate than expected).
%% * Gorn: Not something that happens all the time, but some of the death scenes do require BrainBleach.
%% * GranolaGirl: Lucy, especially on the SpinOff site.
%% * GratuitousFrench: Remy de Sand, to the point of being TheUnintelligible at times.
%% * HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: and . Considering the site's just getting BloodierAndGorier, we're probably not done seeing this trope yet.
%% * HeartbrokenBadass: Abel King.
%% * HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Interesting scenario with two of them facing off against but also occasionally helping each other... Jason Frost often winds up on the good (by this site's standards anyway) side, but has his evil moments; Jacob Zotermeer is a CardCarryingVillain most of the time who inexplicably helps the heroes out on numerous occasions. To make it even more confusing, they're locked in an ongoing game of XanatosSpeedChess with each other.
%% * HeelFaceTurn: For some reason, many Death Eaters have pulled one of these.
%% * HellBentForLeather: Taffy Pole and Atreya Mourant are both female examples of this. As of right now there really isn't a male example for some reason.
%% ** Until Rage showed up, who is so hell bent that he skins the cows alive when making them.
%% * HeroicSacrifice: Has happened a few times, though not always resulting in death... was just blinded, not killed.
%% * HeroWithBadPublicity: Jason, intentionally so.
%% * HeterosexualLifePartners:
%% ** Diop and Kieran.
%% ** Xanthe and Xira.
%% ** Considering the subtext between Xira and Ratree, Xanthe might have a shot if she doesn't want the relationship to be so heterosexual anymore.
%% * HotBlooded: Jason. Applies to a couple of other characters as well, but considering that Jason is inspired largely by Richard Rahl, he's basically made of this trope.
%% ** He has played on his hot-bloodedness as a form of ObfuscatingStupidity in order to make opponents underestimate him or mistake his true intentions, though... it's entirely possible that he's actually quite level-headed, and is faking the hot temper all the time.
%% * HotTeacher: Most of them, actually.
%% * HotterAndSexier: Certainly moreso than Canon, though not X-rated (at least, not usually).
%% * HufflepuffHouse: Surprisingly subverted in something Harry Potter related. All the houses have a mix of active plot plowing characters and background fringe. Other groups created for the site usually have good detail and a mix of active or static characters.
%% ** In case you were wondering, the actual house sports a ChosenOne, a half giant, a fat chick with a NotSoImaginaryFriend, and a part merperson.
%% * HugeSchoolgirl: Kai Andrews. Wendy Spanogle, being part-giant, would also qualify. And Lucy Frost is, like all members of the Frost family, extraordinarily tall (5'9" at 14 years of age).
%% * IdiosyncraticEpisodeNaming: The Azkaban Thread, The St. Mungo's Thread, The Ottery St. Catchpole Thread... every thread seems to state its in-universe location via MediumAwareness.
%% * ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: .
%% * ImAHumanitarian: Fenrir Greyback and Dimitri Petrojsko are both werewolf characters who consume human flesh even while not transformed.
%% * INeedAFreakingDrink: Has been said numerous times. In fact, it's basically a CatchPhrase for Duo Warrington.
%% * InLoveWithYourCarnage: On the SpinOff site, Maria Fernandez seems to admire Jason perhaps a bit too much. Especially considering some of the things that Jason has done.
%% * JackBauerInterrogationTechnique: Actually, some of Jason's interrogation techniques would make Jack Bauer pull a VomitIndiscretionShot.
%% * Jerkass: Kieran Halcyon (pre-CharacterDevelopment).
%% * JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Kieran Halcyon (post-CharacterDevelopment).
%% * KavorkaMan: Mick Phanan. Also Quentin Neros, to some extent.
%% * Keet: Minus the bit about loudness (though he has his moments), this is Tawnos Fiedor.
%% * PsychoKnifeNut: Rupert Wotan, Sashenka Grigorovich, Taffy Pole.
%% * LampshadeHanging: Because there are some tropers here.
%% * LipstickLesbian: Sakura Leone. Cimarron and Vix, when they're having sex with other women, could qualify as well.
%% * LittleMissBadass: Xanthe Chapel.
%% * MassiveMultiplayerCrossover: Now that we have regular visits to The Island, Planeswalkers all over the place and Kayako running around ripping people's jaws out, the site is starting to become this.
%% * MegaManning: An evil version in Ando Saeki, who steals people's powers by removing their brains.
%% * MemeticBadass: In-universe, Jason Frost and Ando Saeki both experience this.
%% * AMillionIsAStatistic: When Jason's kill count comes up in a conversation on the SpinOff site, it's mentioned in vague terms (though the word "million" is thrown around) that he likely has well over a million kills, perhaps as many as two or three million.
%% * MindRape: Has happened a couple of times. Resulted in a HeelFaceTurn in Antonin Dolohov's case.
%% * TheMole:
%% ** In one of the better-staged (and better kept under wraps before the fact) Reveals in the site's history, Aldous Conor turned out to be one of these. Keep in mind, he had been posing as not just any old Mook, but the BigBad. And after he revealed his true allegiance, he got himself appointed Minister of Magic.
%% ** Olivier Morges has taken over the position of Mole since Aldous left the Death Eaters. He's more your classic ManipulativeBastard though, so he probably won't turn out to be as cool as Aldous.
%% * MookPromotion: When Fenrir Greyback was killed, Dimitri Petrojsko took over leadership of the werewolves.
%% * MoralityPet: Madeline keeps Jason on the right side of the MoralEventHorizon (for the most part anyway). When Madeline is holding the DistressBall, however, it's healthier even for innocent bystanders to hide in the deepest hole they can find and not make a single sound.
%% * MotherNature: Sakiko at least claims to be this. Considering AGodAmI the usual path that Planeswalkers take, it's not too far outside the realm of possibility.
%% * MrFanservice: Muggle Studies teacher Brodie Carinaris is quite possibly the only Hogwarts teacher with a full-fledged fan club of drooling female students. And he's played by Creator/JoshHartnett, too.
%% * MurderersAreRapists: Usually averted, but not in the case of Garrick Atterton.
%% ** Chronologically Trope in Cimarron's case, as she was already a rapist before she killed anybody.
%% ** It's also stated that the werewolves' "punishment" for Eliska's betrayal of them included rape, though this occurred mostly off-camera (so to speak).
%% * MyKungFuIsStrongerThanYours: Spoken to a punching bag during a workout routine.
%% * NiceJobBreakingItHero:
%% ** Isabella Devincenzi thought she was killing Ivan Sudeten. Instead, she inadvertently turned him into a vampire, making him much more dangerous than he was before.
%% ** By killing , Loreley released the Ju-On curse.
%% ** By destroying the Saeki home, Kieran allowed the curse to travel wherever it wanted.
%% * TheNicknamer:
%% ** Sally Carinaris, in traditional GenkiGirl fashion.
%% ** Envy too, though to a lesser extent. It's mostly towards people with complex names, such as shortening Obderedria's name to Drea and calling Abigail Abby. She also tends to call older characters by their first name, but with a Mr. or Mrs. tacked on (ex. Miss Sakiko), a trait shared by Abigail Delgado.
%% ** Caulfield Julliard does it in traditional Jerkass fashion instead, except with Ratree ""She Who Must Not Be Nicknamed" Surkhanfa (which is technically a nickname).
%% * NoNameGiven: Envy, who is known only by that nickname... neither her first name nor her last name are known to anybody, not even her Hogwarts roommate Madeline Frost.
%% ** Interestingly enough, in his first appearance on Hogwarts Rising Jason went only by his Quidditch nickname, "Pinata".
%% * NotSoDifferentRemark: Jason, in the Prequel FanFic: "No, I'm not like Voldemort. I'm much fucking worse."
%% * ObliviousToLove: Loreley doesn't realize that when Kieran told her he loved her, he meant it in a romantic way and not a brotherly one. Loreley's cousin Raina likewise didn't catch on that Jimmy Peakes had the hots for her.
%% ** Kieran's planted a kiss on Loreley, and she still doesn't realize he has feelings for her.
%% * OffTheRails: The site's creator probably didn't intend it to go like this, but it was set up as a collaborative storytelling effort.
%% * OurDemonsAreDifferent: Demons are becoming very integral to the plot as of late, and are classified by origin and mythology. See the bit on vampires below.
%% * OurVampiresAreDifferent: Sort of. Effort has been made to expand Harry Potters vampirism with material from various real-world mythologies, without contradicting the letter or spirit of any Canon established lore. As a result, several different species of vampires have been mentioned.
%% * OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: Even from Canon J.K. Rowling's.
%% * ParentalAbandonment: Several times, including a TheCallKnowsWhereYouLive version on the SpinOff site.
%% * ThePlan: There have been several, pulled off by many different characters. Aldous Conor's really good at them.
%% * PowerIncontinence: A side effect of Loreley's amnesia was that she lost control of her Metamorphmagus abilities and started taking on the physical appearance of whoever she met.
%% * PowerPerversionPotential: Plenty, as always, with any Metamorphmagus. But Rule Thirty Six applies, and beware the dreaded ShapeshiftingSquick.
%% * PowerTrio: Tawnos is the id, Xira is the superego, Xanthe is the ego.
%% ** On the SpinOff site Abel is the id, Jason is the superego, and Mandos is the ego. Although Jason and Abel can be interchanged.
%% * PregnantBadass: Madeline, currently.
%% * PreppyName: Hadley Sharpe, Tatum West, Orville Brand... Neville Longbottom is a good Canon example.
%% * PunnyName: Taffy Pole.
%% * PutOnABus: It'd be impossible for some players to use all of their characters at the same time (there's one guy who has almost a hundred). This is how we keep the ones who aren't necessary for a certain Arc busty without actually having to post with them.
%% * RailingKill: Several times in the Azkaban thread.
%% * ReallyGetsAround: Initially, Summit Rookwood. Now, Cimarron Arriaga and Vix Tilmitt are bisexual versions, and have completely replaced Summit (who is in a monogamous relationship).
%% * RebelliousSpirit: Lucy. Several other members of Dumbledore's Army, especially Madeline, exhibit elements of this trope, but Lucy embodies it.
%% ** Caulfield Julliard was born on November 5th. Just saying.
%% * RedemptionEqualsDeath: and . Questionably as well.
%% * RedemptionEqualsSex: Miranda Frost and Aldous Conor. With each other.
%% * RefusedTheCall: Kyleigh Grace has no interest in being a Chosen One.
%% * ReligionOfEvil: The Brotherhood of the Light certainly qualify, not only because their goal is to exterminate all magic-users, but also because they're actually .
%% * TheRevolutionWillNotBeCivilized: In the Prequel FanFic, this applies heavily to the Muggle-born Revolt. They take scalps as trophies, use biological warfare and go after the family members of enemy collaborators. Jason even admits that he's worse than Voldemort, because being more than the BigBad is the only way he can win.
%% * RocksFallEveryoneDies: Averted in this thread. Rocks fell. Only a couple of people died.
%% * RoaringRampageOfRevenge: Has occurred several times.
%% * RunningGag: A female member once mistyped "busy" as "busty" in an OOC conversation. Now, the default excuse for a prolonged absence from the site -- even from male posters -- is "I've been really busty lately".
%% * SadistTeacher: When the story first started, Aldous Conor was Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Only one student didn't hate him, and that was because she had the hots for him.
%% ** To be fair to Aldous, he knew the shit was about to hit the fan, and wanted his students to be prepared for it.
%% * SealedEvilInACan: How did the Saekis deal with the Ju-On curse? They sealed Kayako in a portrait and then used an enchantment on that portrait to control the other ghosts from the curse. This led to the rumor that they had "trained ghosts for combat". Which wasn't true. The truth is much worse.
%% * SelfMadeOrphan: Jason disintegrated his father.
%% * ShapeshiftingSquick: Cimarron has invented a spell that allows her to grow a penis. It was originally intended to make sex with women more interesting for both parties, but was later used in an interrogation.
%% * ShootTheDog: Too many examples to list. Jason will not hesitate to attack anyone who poses a threat, and will even fire through a hostage in order to hit the person using them as a shield.
%% ** [[spoiler: Even if Jason is the hostage, he'll run himself through with a sword in order to take down the Muggle terrorist holding a gun on him.]]
%% * ShoutOut:

%% * ShowWithinAShow: On the SpinOff site, due to the Unmasqueing of the Wizarding World, Muggle TV producers are scrambling to find magically-oriented programming. The first result we see of this is Hart & Avalon, a PoliceProcedural which follows the adventures of famous Aurors Tawnie Hart and Loreley Avalon. It's basically Series/RizzoliAndIsles with wands.
%% * SimultaneousArcs: Done all the time... every player has at least one character with their own thing going on, in addition to whatever the "main arc" is.
%% * SixthRanger: Whenever a new member joins the site and sticks around for any suitable length of time, their primary character becomes either this or a Lancer to one of the other main characters. Examples of Sixth Rangers include Jason Frost (who eventually became the main character), Lena Lacy (still a bit of a Sixth Ranger), and Abel King (who is new enough to still be considered a Sixth Ranger but is moving more toward Lancer status).
%% * SmartPeoplePlayChess: Mandos Fiedor, arguably the smartest character on the main site, is a chess fanatic and budding Chessmaster (on the SpinOff site, he has MagnificentBastard potential). Alphonse Becker from the SpinOff site is, like main-site Mandos, a Hogwarts student who is off-the-charts intelligent and loves chess.
%% * SmugSnake: Orville Brand, in spades. Other villains have aspects as well, but Orville cranks this trope up to eleven.
%% * SpinOffspring: Several examples on Hogwarts Futures. Some are Legacy Characters.
%% * StayFrosty: Ray Garside has said this a couple of times, and also has it in his signature.
%% * StockBritishPhrases: Used mostly from a swear-word standpoint... "sodding" instead of "fucking", "wanker" instead of "asshole", and so on. Occasionally subverted by having a more American word crop up, though... it depends largely on who's writing the post and whether or not they remember that the bulk of the storyline takes place in England.
%% * StrawmanPolitical: The Brotherhood of the Light allow for a negative depiction of Christianity, and Harry's idealism is occasionally played for strawman liberal purposes (although Jason views him more as a cross between TheHeart and TheLoad than in any specific political terms).
%% * StringyHairedGhostGirl: The one and only Kayako Saeki.
%% * SuddenSequelDeathSyndrome: and were killed off on the SpinOff site in its first month of activity.
%% * TakeThat: Literature/HarryPotter (the character more than the series, which is why it's not italicized).
%% * TimeAbyss: Sakiko.
%% * TooKinkyToTorture: Atreya Mourant.
%% * TortureTechnician: Anyanka Dementieva is the MindRape version of this. Jason can be one for the good guys' side.
%% ** Kalia St. Clair is always one for the good guys' side, and is in fact becoming the MemeticBadass version of this trope.
* TraumaInducedAmnesia: Loreley had it when she first started getting broken.
%% * TrueCompanions: An excessively large example in Dumbledore's Army.
* TheUnmasquedWorld: The setting has been this since Aldous Conor abolished the statute of secrecy.
%% * UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans: Jason certainly believes so.
* VomitIndiscretionShot: Lilliana O'Neill, although it was probably Trope seeing as how Slytherin boys were urinating on her at the time.
%% * WaifProphet: River Applewhite.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Jason. Noah Howerton tries to pass himself off as this in order to get people to like him more, but he's actually not.
%% * WizardingSchool: The original one, albeit slightly different from Canon.
%% * WorldOfBadass
%% * XanatosSpeedChess: Pops up from time to time. Jason seems to enjoy a good game of it intermittently, especially against one of the villains.
%% * YouALLShareMyStory: You betcha. While there are many complex and individual plots as characters start, eventually the entire forces of good and evil band together.
* YouFightLikeACow: Kieran Halcyon, Draco Malfoy and Sasha Rookwood have all proven to be very good at this type of dialogue. Jason indulges in it from time to time as well.
