4	Several Jedi younglings are taken to the icy planet Ilum to face their greatest challenge yet: obtaining kyber crystals for themselves in order to build their own lightsabers. This has to be done before the doorway to the cave containing the crystals is frozen over, trapping them inside for several more rotations.

10	* BackdoorPilot: The entire Young Jedi arc was conceived of as a pilot movie for a potential ''Younglings'' SpinOff, but was folded back into ''The Clone Wars'' after Creator/GeorgeLucas changed his mind after test screenings.
11	* ExactWords: Yoda and Ahsoka tell the younglings that if they fail to return before the entrance has frozen over again, they'll be trapped inside until sunrise. Once they're inside the cave, Zatt runs a calculation and realises that night on Ilum lasts for 19 days.
12	** At the same time to even a Force-wielder as young as the younglings, the ice covering the entrance isn't an insurmountable obstacle with Petro managing to break through it with a charge. Yoda explains it's just another lesson about the greater prison being the mind rather than a physical object.

19	** Katooni, who lacks self-belief, has to climb up a sheer cliff face in order to retrieve her crystal. She doesn't think she can do it, but once she actually tries, she succeeds.
20	** Byph, who lacks courage, has to retrieve his crystal from the maw of a monstrous creature with glowing red eyes. Once he finally plucks up the courage to do so, the glow fades to reveal that the "creature" is just a harmless rock formation.
21	** Ganodi, who lacks faith in the Force, is only able to find her crystal by placing her trust in the Force, and using it to retrieve the true crystal from a cavern full of fakes.
22	** Zatt, who is over-reliant on technology, doesn't find his crystal until he realises his gadget won't help him and decides to trust the Force instead. He then has to retrieve it from behind an ice wall by detonating his gadget, smashing the ice and symbolically freeing himself from his technological dependence.
23	** Gungi, who is HotBlooded and impatient, finds his crystal on the other side of a lake that's too cold for him to traverse. He has to patiently wait until the sun sets, at which point the lake freezes over and he is able to cross it safely.
24	* SnowedIn: The younglings narrowly escape this fate at the end, though it turns out that it wouldn't have been a serious issue — Petro is able to smash his way through the ice barrier just after it freezes.

26	** Petro insists that he's going to be the first of the younglings to claim his crystal. When the "crystal" he finds turns out to be nothing but ice, he ends up being the ''last'' of the group to emerge from the cave with a crystal.
27	** After failing to find her crystal, Ganodi despairs that she'll never find it and even alleges that there are no crystals at all. Immediately afterwards, the floor beneath her gives way and she's sent tumbling into a cavern ''full'' of crystals.
28	* TokenHuman: Petro is the only human youngling among the others.

30	* WaitingPuzzle: Gungi's crystal is located on the other side of an ice-cold lake. All he has to do to retrieve it is just sit there and wait until night falls and the lake freezes over. For [[HotBlooded Gungi]], this is harder than it sounds.
