After a sudden beat-down, he is rescued by Alyx Vance, who takes him to [[Main/MadScientist Dr. Kleiner]], a man whom Gordon respects and fears, likely for similar reasons. Then, [[Main/RunningGag another teleportation experiment goes to shit]], with our hero once again caught amidst it.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Route Kanal]]
->"''So let's recap: [[Literature/TheTripods The Tripods]] have invaded. We didn't fucking clean up the existing aliens, apparently. We've enslaved the electric ones, though we've even managed to fuck that up because we've made them personal slaves which is totally irresponsible, and the police must've been Capped, that's why they have the helmets, and they shoot at everything. They don't even look.''"
* Episode 3: After almost getting devoured by a shark, Freeman is thrown out of Kleiner's teleporter room. Barney is no help either, with the only thing given to Freeman being a crowbar. Freeman goes on the run, first beating a cop for his gun, and then gunning down every cop that comes his way. He stops after encountering a helicopter near a railway.
* Episode 4: Freeman thinks about train schedules, accidentally guns down an upstanding citizen's slave alien, ponders the 50s aesthetics of the society he's in, joins the police force, and blows up barrels.
* Episode 5: Freeman continues roaming through the canals, all the while contemplating the future of science fiction, attempting to aim at faraway targets, dodging helicopters, and [[BreadEggsMilkSquick vomiting his brains out.]]
* Episode 6: Freeman encounters a refugee having a bad trip, the products of redneck technology known as Manhacks, more cops, gets his beautiful face ruined, and acquires a machine gun.
* Episode 7: Freeman continues his way down the canals, all the while encountering more camera bots, contemplating the cops' gun ammo, seeing a couple of [[WebAnimation/CivilProtection familiar faces]] and the taco truck they were headed towards, and dropping down into a [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Mario pipe maze with no exit]].
* Episode 8: Freeman breaks out of the Mario pipe maze by blowing it up, moves through the sewers while giving the locals a taste of the Freeman, gets bombed by zombies, [[CallBack scolds Billy again]], unsuccessfully hits on another woman, and drives an airboat into a cesspool pond.
[[/folder]]

* Episode 13: Freeman continues to contemplate the chopper chasing him while finding its bullets effective on him and its cherry bomb fireworks not so effective on him.
* Episode 14: Freeman finds a rebel base that unfortunately has an alien mole messing with his boat. Thankfully, he catches him in the act and moves on, but he finds the gun the alien left on the boat quite useful when it isn't overheating.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Black Mesa East]]
->"''Goddammit, why is everyone here so casual?! It's like everyone's in denial! This is the lab of the lotus eaters!''"
* Episode 15: After briefly considering going back and killing the rebels that gave him the gun on his boat, Freeman finally manages to take out the chopper before going on a lengthy tangent on how it could hold so many bombs inside of it. He makes his way down the dam and makes it to Black Mesa East, but unfortunately for him, Mossman gasses him unconscious.
* Episode 16: Freeman regains consciousness, and after a brief bout of dizziness attempts to warn his new colleagues at Black Mesa East that he's being followed. Unfortunately, none of them listen, in particular Alyx, who Freeman observes has the mental state of a child. She introduces him to the Gravity Gun and Dog, both of which he finds fascinating and odd that they aren't being used for more useful purposes. The Combine sweeps the area, and Freeman is forced into Ravenholm.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:"We Don't Go To Ravenholm..."]]
-->'''Father Grigori:''' Who is this?

-->'''Father Grigori:''' Another life to save?
-->'''Gordon:''' No, he has an accent.
* Episode 17: Freeman enters Ravenholm and explores the town while appreciating how quiet it is without any gunfire. This is quickly ruined by the amount of zombies, but he doesn't mind all that much. He meets the local expert in photonics, wins a street limbo competition, discusses the efficiency of the {{Booby Trap}}s and {{Deadly Disc}}s strewn about, and attempts to figure out what the residents of the town were doing before things went wrong.
* Episode 18: Freeman tours the neighborhood of Ravenholm and interacts with his new neighbor, who he learns is named Gregory. He ponders if he's running a game show with all the traps and he's the contestant, as well as his sanity and whether or not he's feeding the facehuggers, of which new types show up. After receiving a shotgun, he hesitates to jump in a giant dunk tank, as it makes him feel like a clown.
* Episode 19: Freeman continues his run of Gregory's game show, running into more locals such as Lumpy the poison zombie. As he gradually runs low on ammo, he contemplates whether or not there is an alien virus growing inside of him, begins conceptualizing a plan to assassinate the CIA Time Lord, and compares the neighborhood of Ravenholm to that of Harry's, an old acquaintance of his. He also falls off a building. Twice.
