Chris starts his freshman year of high school running away to South America as a missionary to escape the seniors paddling the new meat. Meanwhile, Peter finally gets a job at the Pawtucket Brewery (which has been stripped of its ''Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory''-style whimsy and is now a normal brewery), but when Peter takes unfair advantage of the "free beer, as long as you don't drink it on the job" rule, he gets KickedUpstairs to a desk job, where his co-worker is a mentally-disabled ward of the state and his boss is voiced by Princess Leia herself, Creator/CarrieFisher.

!!Tropes used in the episode:
* AccidentalProposal: After Chris sings "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" and dances, the tribal leader announces that in accordance with customs, Chris has now married his daughter.
* AnimationBump: The paddling scene features really smooth animation.
* BlackComedyRape: Alluded to from Chris when the tribe members assure him that everyone's genitals are hanging out when they're wearing their loincloths. "Wow this is like bible camp, only I'm not crying and pretending to be somewhere else".
* BrickJoke: Peter mentions previously having a job as Sandy Duncan's glass eye. Later in the episode, Sandy asks if Peter's available, since her new glass eye (now Quagmire) isn't working out.
* DirtyOldMan: When Quagmire substitutes Peter for the job as Creator/SandyDuncan's glass eye, he tells her to take her top off.
* DoubleEntendre: At the beginning of the episode, Peter and his friends watch an episode of the HBO western drama Deadwood, which puns on the word wood, which is slang for erection.
* FreshmanFears: Chris starts high school, and finds himself subjected to the "freshman hunt", where the seniors relentlessly hunt down new students. Chris suffers so much from this that he decides to volunteer for Peace Corps work in South America just to escape. Unfortunately, when the tribespeople learn he's a freshman, they chase after him too.
-->'''Chris:''' I guess you can't run away from your problems ''anywhere.''
* GayBestFriend: Referenced by [[AmbiguouslyGay Stewie]], who admits to Chris that he's not worried about high school, feeling that the "worst-case scenario" for himself is ending up as the "effeminate male friend of all the popular girls."
* HistoricalVillainUpgrade: PlayedForLaughs. A cutaway portrays Lou Gehrig as an evil mastermind plotting to expose a deadly disease to the world's water supply. He accidentally drops the bottle and contracts it himself instead.
-->'''Lou Gehrig''': (in a wheelchair) Well, I guess the joke's on ''me''.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Late in the episode, Chris calls Peter out for taking advantage of the natives and using them to escape his problems at home. While he's not wrong, Chris himself is doing the ''exact same thing'' for the ''exact same reason'', which Lois quickly [[LampshadeHanging points out to him]]. What doesn't get pointed out was Chris wasn't exploiting the natives the way Peter was, he was actually adopting their lifestyle. On the other hand, he chose to marry the chief's daughter despite being underage.
* HypocriteHasAPoint: Lois intentionally attracted Chris' attention during the "Freshman Hunt", but was also right in pointing out that running away via the Peace Corps is not the answer to his problems.
* IsThisThingStillOn: When the Griffins are on the plane, the pilot comes on the intercom:
-->'''Pilot''': We'll be landing in South America shortly. Please buckle your seat belts. Oh, ''hey'', Brenda. Whatcha got for me, coffee? ''Damn'', your ass looks hot. Oh, is this thing on? I don't care. I ''want'' 'em to hear.
* LactatingMale: Peter says he's "excited for work like a dairy cow". Cut to a cow voiced by Danny Smith moaning in pleasure while being milked.
* NoodleIncident: Effeminate Stewie asking his female friends if "anyone has any Scope" due to some favors he did for a friend in the parking lot in exchange for tickets and alcohol.
* OverlyLongGag: Stewie is not thrilled with the ''Film/{{Bewitched}}'' remake with Will Ferrell, so he leaves the theater, gets on an airplane, and makes his way to Will Ferrell's house. When Will answers the door, Stewie knocks him out and says, "That's NOT funny!"
* RhetoricalQuestionBlunder: In a cutaway featuring Paul Reiser stand-up:
-->'''Paul Reiser''': And what's with those Starbucks, huh? They're everywhere.\
'''Peter''': Uhh... a lot of people want coffee; that's supply and demand, it's the foundation of our entire economy, Paul.
* {{Rotoscoping}}: Used for the dancing tribespeople in the "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" scene.
* ShoutOut:
** A re-creation of the "No one in this town will hire you" scene from ''Film/{{Tootsie}}'' is one of the cutaways, with Stewie in Michael's place.
** Peter pays the villagers to re-enact various episodes of ''Series/{{Seinfeld}}'', such as "The Contest" and "The Stall".
** The ending is a re-creation of ''Film/RaidersOfTheLostArk'', with the twist that [[NegativeContinuity Meg is killed by the villagers]].
** The scene in which Chris is beaten with paddles is from ''Film/DazedAndConfused''. As in the film, the song in the background is "No More Mr. Nice Guy" by Music/AliceCooper. Mayor Adam West’s sequence is directly referencing Fred O'Bannion from the same film.
** The episode's title is a reference to a single of the same name by Music/TheSteveMillerBand.
** At different times, Peter and Quagmire had jobs as Sandy Duncan's glass eye. Duncan, a Broadway and television actress, underwent surgery for a brain tumor in 1972. She said that she lost sight in one eye and unconfirmed rumors persist that it was removed and replaced with a prosthetic.
** Quagmire calls Sandy "Wheat Thins", referencing that she was a spokesperson for Wheat Thins.
** The chief has a cousin named Vinny, who is Creator/JoePesci's character Vincent Gambini from ''Film/MyCousinVinny'', impersonated here by Jay Mohr. Later, Peter actually refers to him as Pesci.
** The chief says "Never had it, never will" and laughs. This was a commercial slogan for the 7 Up brand soft drink from the 1980's, indicating that 7-Up was always caffeine-free.
** Peter has a flash-back to when he was an assistant to Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, showing Peter morphed into a Beaker design and meeping. Bunsen laughs and agrees with Peter.
** In a cutaway, Stewie tours Europe with a musical rendition of ''Film/MyLeftFoot''.
** Peter asks Chris who was the female star of in ''Series/RemingtonSteele''. Chris correctly points out that it was Stephanie Zimbalist.
** When Lois tries to recall which of the family's acquaintances was in the Peace Corps, Peter suggests actor Creator/BeauBridges who was never in the Peace Corps.
* SweetTooth: When Peter is on the job as Sandy Duncan's glass eye, he tells her not to buy any "good" breakfast cereal and asks her to get some of the Booberry cereal.
* TakeThat:
** To Kevin Federline in the cutaway of Peter working as Federline's magic mirror who gives him advice on how to be a douchebag.
** See OverlyLongGag above (according to the DVD commentary, Stewie was supposed to attack Steve Martin for being in the movie ''Bringing Down The House'').
* YoungerThanTheyLook: Chris casually mentions that his wife is eleven, [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/familyguy/images/b/b6/Loka.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20090719182107 It seems that this particular South American tribe goes through puberty early]] (or they believe that girls who have their first period are immediately considered women and are of marrying age).
