----
* In ''Webcomic/EightBitTheater'', Black Mage's love for White Mage.
** [[http://www.nuklearpower.com/2009/05/07/episode-1125-unexpected/ Fixed That For You.]]
** [[AWizardDidIt Sarda]] offers the "Dark Warriors" a chance to run before he starts [[spoiler:absorbing the power of the orbs]].
-->"Look, I don't do this... uh, [[JerkassGods ever]]. But you guys are basically like [[IneffectualSympatheticVillain kittens stuck on a leaking lifeboat in a typhoon]]. Just run."
** Sarda seems to like Fighter more than the other three, probably because he realises that [[GoodIsDumb he's actually good]] as opposed to Black Mage, Red Mage and Thief. For example, in one instance, Fighter asks for a reward (and hopes that it is candy), but Sarda says something about the next quest. In the end, Sarda tells Fighter, "By the way, Fighter, here's the candy." Also, Sarda (after resurrecting Fighter and Thief, who have been killed by Black Mage) states that the Light Warriors are "all selfish monsters who need to die for the good of everyone else." Black Mage asks surprised if that also applies to Fighter, and Sarda answers he isn't. While Fighter cheers, Sarda explains that he ''still'' has to kill him anyway. [[KickTheDog And then Black Mage cheers]].
* Creator/AGnosis' comics on [[Myth/ClassicalMythology Greek myth]] has an in-universe version: a human household is terrified to learn that the houseguest who's cooing over and petting their dog is Hades, {{the dreaded}} GodOfTheDead. Readers know that Hades isn't a bad guy, but the family gets even more scared that he'll kill the dog.
* ''Webcomic/AkumasComics'': The Undertaker, one of the major villains looking to gain ultimate power, will sometimes do good deeds out of pure altruism. For example he saved [[Anime/SonicX Cosmo]] from having to perform her HeroicSacrifice and tried to save the day himself. Sadly this led to the destruction of her universe, but it's the thought that counts.
* Dani from ''Webcomic/BetweenTheLines2006'' in Chapter Four where he admits to Shay that despite him being injured and being caught by his mother for dressing as a girl at the end of the First Chapter (Byberry), he acknowledges that feels much more comfortable dressing as a girl as it gave him a bit of a rush [[http://mekari.deviantart.com/art/Between-the-Lines-Chap4-pg5-146284881]]. He even makes out with Razly, who admits to Dani that he looks cute as a girl [[http://mekari.deviantart.com/art/Between-the-Lines-Chap4-pg21-251417625]]. And given what happened to him throughout the Third Chapter (to the point of attempting suicide and being stuck in a mental hospital for about two months), it's nice to finally see Dani in a happy mood for change.
* In ''Webcomic/CityOfReality'', an unnamed villain [[spoiler:who's revised the timeline]] gives a seemingly heartfelt apology to a little girl she's had to MindControl for her ends [[spoiler:and in the original timeline had been forced to kill]].
* The Nightmare Knight from ''Webcomic/CucumberQuest'' seems to have a soft spot for Princess Parfait, as seen when he [[http://cucumber.gigidigi.com/cq/page-304/ stops Sir Tomato from harassing her]] and [[http://cucumber.gigidigi.com/cq/page-488/ agrees to listen to her vent for a bit later on]].
* The Ork from ''Da Real Wurld'' [[TabletopGame/{{Warhammer 40000}} 40k]] seems to like the grots that infest the character's house. The Dark Eldar chick constantly demands he do something about them, and he seems genuinely saddened when she shoots one off his head. For an ork, he's surprisingly well-balanced.
* [[HitmanWithAHeart Black Monday Blues]] of ''Webcomic/DeadWinter'' [[http://www.deadwinter.cc/page/040.htm saves a little girl he stumbles upon]] before [[RidingIntoTheSunset walking into the sunset]].
* ''Webcomic/DrFrost'': Frost has his almost kind moments. One in particular is when he adopts Pavlov, and he has a surprising amount of these towards Seonga, including knowing when to let her try things on her own, but still being available for advice.
* In ''Webcomic/ElGoonishShive'', Diane isn't the [[AlphaBitch the nicest person]] around, but the first sign she's not a completely bad person is when she looks for her friend, who ran out of the classroom crying over forgetting her homework. She calms her friend down, gently tells her not to overreact like that, then promises to resolve the situation by having the teacher call the friend's mom to confirm the homework was done. When she sees Grace nearby, also looking upset, she awkwardly but nicely asks if she can do anything for Grace as well. Later, it's also shown that for all Diane complains about her sister, she's genuinely scared to see Rhea brainwashed along with everyone else at the New Year's Eve party and later suggests to Ellen that it is a good thing to keep the truth from her, if only so her sister doesn't get upset over what happened.
* In ''Webcomic/GirlGenius'', Volume 12, [[spoiler: Tarvek]] drags a wasp weasel handler, a nest of baby wasp-weasels, and a Jager out of danger, followed by attacking a Wasp Queen -- with a wooden sword. This is the same person who was [[spoiler:working with The Other]] in the volume he was introduced in. Not bad for a "great, big, devious weasel".
* In ''Webcomic/{{Goblins}},'' Minmax the Unstoppable Warrior is the first antagonist the heroes face, and his party's slaughter of a goblin village is the catalyst for the Goblin Adventuring Party's formation. He is painted as a mostly unsympathetic jackass who is technically ChaoticGood, but assumes all goblins are just XP fodder. When he eventually meets the [[BigBad Goblinslayer]], he is overcome with hero worship. But when he finds out the latter has a sapient snake-woman whom he [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil rapes]] and tortures nightly for fun, he throws him through a window.
** Then, he gets another one [[http://www.goblinscomic.com/09212010-2/ here.]] Looks like Minmax is heading for a HeelFaceTurn.
* ''Webcomic/{{Homestuck}}''. The guy who would go on to become [[VillainProtagonist Spades Slick]] had one such moment during the Hivebent Intermission. Begins [[http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=004198 here]].
-->"Saddest story you ever heard. Got to do something to shut him up."
** Even the [[DiscOneFinalBoss kid's version]] of Jack Noir gets one. [[spoiler: Thanks to Bec's prototyping, he's [[UndyingLoyalty incredibly loyal]] to Jade -- so much so, that when Courtyard Droll kills her (as per Jack's earlier orders), he takes her to her Quest Bed, more-or-less willingly undoing her death. Jack's sole motivation is to kill everything in existence.]]
** Equius spent most of his time onscreen as kind of a racist, classist prick with an intricate arrangement of creepy fetishes, but managed to get in a few of these, such as building the low-caste Tavros bionic legs to heal his paraplegia. The best example, however, was when he was certain he was going to die [[spoiler:accurately, as it turns out]], and took a moment to say goodbye to Nepeta and thank her for being his [[MoralityPet moirail]].
* Rowasu of ''Webcomic/{{Juathuur}}'' doesn't kill Juinn when he has the chance. Not only that, but he doesn't kill his crow, who ''ate one of his eyes''!
* ''Webcomic/KillSixBillionDemons'': Despite being insane {{God Emperor}}s, the [[BigBadEnsemble Seven Black Emperors]] are still, on some level, human (well, five of them are) and engage in selfless behaviour against their friends and subjects on occasion.
** One of the first signs that Maya is different than [[CarnivalOfKillers the other 107 pursuers hunting Allison for her Key of Kings]] is that she protects a noodle vendor and Number Six from the chaos at hell 73 (she ''does'' help herself to a serving of his noodles during the battle though). She later pulls a child out of the way of an irate angel, for no other reason than to keep her safe.
** [[CorporateDragon Mammon]] is shown to genuinely care for his inner circle of followers for no other reason than they are his followers, and permits anyone who enters his chambers the chance to join them even if they've killed their way in. [[spoiler:Granted, this is partially because he's gone senile and doesn't recognize the state of his own head let alone anyone else's, but even when restored to his senses he shows moral outrage at the death of not only his own followers but Solomon's citizens.]]
** Despite being a SocialDarwinist Incubus seems to care about his role as Allison's EvilMentor. Even with a prophecy that she'll annihilate him hanging over his head and Allison having the Master Key that would swing the balance of power between the Demiurges in his favour, Incubus never moves to oppose her and openly praises her to some of the other Demiurges. [[spoiler:In ''Breaker of Infinities'', even as Allison is having a breakdown after their defeat from Jagganoth and Jagganoth now has Mammon and Mottom's keys, Incubus' first instinct is to try and rally her; while he ''does'' turn on Allison, it takes Cio stabbing him and Allison going catatonic first.]]
** Solomon David's EstablishingCharacterMoment has him taking on work one of his legions are doing to build Solomon's arena, allowing the men to go home to spend the day with their families. [[SubvertedTrope As with most other things Solomon does]], however, [[CondescendingCompassion his benevolence is grounded in his paternalism]]: Solomon [[RealityWarper could effortlessly wish the entire arena into existence]], or allow his citizens to use engines and technology already present in the setting [[WeWillUseManualLaborInTheFuture so they would not have to pull solid limestone using ropes and pulleys]], but has explicitly chosen not to.
** Subverted by Jadis in ''Breaker of Infinities''. While at first it looks like [[spoiler:she rescues and heals Allison]] out of the kindness of her heart, we later learn that Jadis did it because she's TheOmniscient and [[BecauseDestinySaysSo did it because that was what she did at that point]]; Jadis herself is a StrawNihilist and cares about nothing because her omniscience has made it impossible for her to care. It is eventually revealed that she was once wholly driven by her desire to help her people, but was mentally and emotionally broken by [[BrownNote the sight of the true shape of the universe]].
* ''Webcomic/TheKingfisher'': Demetri picks Jack out to be thrown into a deadly game (be a vampire or be food?) and tries to sway him with moral relativism, but he does have cute pets.
* ''Webcomic/KlonoaDreamCrusaders'': Tenebrae Hue treats his right-hand scientist with respect when the scientist does his job well, and orders all his minions to stay inside the fortress to protect them, in case the summoning ritual he's about to perform goes wrong. He still acts kind of cold and distant towards them, but still, not bad for an EvilOverlord.
* Richard of ''Webcomic/LookingForGroup'' has a rather shocking Pet The Dog moment when he saves a child from an explosive blast. The reason? The child wasn't ''afraid'' to die.
** A more straight example is how Richard seems to like the rabbit the rest of the group jokingly gave him as a mount when he was shrunk. Well, at least, it's one of the few woodland creatures he's run across that he ''didn't'' immediately immolate.
*** Oh, it's [[http://www.lfgcomic.com/page/173 far more than that]]
* In ''Webcomic/NipAndTuck'', the ShowWithinAShow ''Rebel Cry'' introduces the admiral hunting our hero [[http://www.rhjunior.com/NT/00679.html by having him remonstrate with his superior about harsh treatment and get slapped down.]]
* Seymour from ''Webcomic/{{Nosfera}}'' deciding to spare the life of the Medusa Head in front of her children.
* ''Webcomic/TheOrderOfTheStick'':
** [[http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0131.html Haley's motive for collecting money.]] She favoured helping the dirt farmers even though there would be absolutely no reward. Notably, she called Roy out for assuming that she ''wouldn't'' want to help them -- yes, she likes money, but just because she expects compensation for adventuring doesn't mean she won't help people in need!
** Belkar Bitterleaf, a ChaoticEvil halfling who on one occasion used a kobold's head for a salsa bowl, has recently adopted [[spoiler:the late]] Lord Shojo's cat, Mr. Scruffy. While he justifies it by using the cat for a weapon at one point, he seems to genuinely care for it. Then again, he also liked Lord Shojo for being a MagnificentBastard, to the point of going berserk [[spoiler:when Miko killed him. ("YOU KILLED THE WACKY OLD DUDE WITH THE CAT?!?")]]
** Miko seems to have a genuine affection for her paladin steed, leading to a few Pet the Horse scenes, especially [[spoiler:her final moments.]]
** Tsukiko seems to be getting one of these in her deluded, but still caring, attitude towards the undead. Then again, since she's a self-confessed [[ILoveTheDead necrophiliac]], her motherly behaviour towards them might make it [[ParentalIncest even worse]].
** Gannji and Enor have an ever-so-slightly heart-rending shared Pet the Dog moment during the GladiatorGames, when they refuse to duel each other and Gannji has to persuade Enor to kill him in order to prevent them both being executed.
*** This moment was so moving it inspired ''Belkar'' to have one of his own [[spoiler:by releasing a dinosaur into the arena to allow them to escape]] since their relationship reminded him of his bond with Mr. Scruffy. The carnage that resulted was a bonus.
** Malack gets one when he [[http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0870.html spares Mr. Scruffy]] before trying to kill Belkar. Later does it when he [[http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0895.html doesn't tell Nale where the Order of the Stick is hiding]] [[spoiler: to honor Durkon's dying request]]
** The bugbear who just returned home from trying to kill some of the protagonists has a literal one [[http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots1036.html here]]. Also, she works for Redcloak.
* At the end of chapter five, Norbert Olsen from ''Webcomic/TheOverture'' tucks his favorite daughter Angela into bed. Up until this point, Norbert has either been abusive or neglectful to his other children so it's shocking to see he generally loves Angela with all his heart.
* In ''Webcomic/RedsPlanet'', Red's generally self-centered behavior gives way [[http://www.redsplanet.com/comic/rp/ch03/chapter-three-39/ she lets Tawee come with her]], and [[http://www.redsplanet.com/comic/rp/ch04/chapter-four-02/ later]] [[TastesLikeFriendship offers food.]]
* ''WebComic/StandStillStaySilent'':
** In the Denmark portion of the prologue, Michael is introduced talking to his boss on the phone, telling him that he's on a ferry taking his cat to his sister's farm because he doesn't trust a cat hotel to take good care of it. His boss, meanwhile, is furious at him for taking the trip too close to an important meeting. When an announcement reveals that the ferry will not be making its return trip because of sudden travel restrictions, Michael acts as a complete jerk about it and threatens all of the boat's waiters with a FrivolousLawsuit if they don't get the ferry to turn back. Everyone is so scared to deal with him that they end up sending Signe, a colleague that is described as "Was fired from her last job. And the one before that." to talk with him. However, the reason Michael was on the boat in the first place makes him getting fired over the phone a little after a well-deserved chewing out quite sad, his story ending with Signe coming to cheer him up over it comes across as a very much needed silver lining, and his apparently devoid of redeeming qualities MeanBoss ends up being the HateSink.
** Emil, who's introduced as a self-centered former rich kid who sees the expedition as an easy path to promotion (and is completely oblivious to the "you have to survive first" catch), gets strangely attached to a PlagueZombie dog both before and after getting attacked by it. Events eventually contrive to let Emil give the dog a MercyKill, but it happens in circumstances that keep him from burying it until the next morning, and he apologizes to it. He also freaks out when he finds out Lalli has skinned it the next morning, not knowing that the skinning was part of a ceremony meant to actually free the dog's spirit, something that the killing alone didn't actually do (Emil doesn't believe in spirits, Lalli knows better).
* ''Webcomic/SweetHome2017'': Ihyun gives Yuri his inhaler when he notices hers is out. Based on dialogue from the other criminals, there’s no ulterior motive behind it.
* ''Webcomic/{{Unsounded}}'': Stockyard literally pets an animal—in this case a kedises, a warm-blooded iguana that are like housecats in-universe—while loading provisions onto a ship. Moments later, he instinctively saves its life by pulling it away from the First Silver weapon when it tries to attack it.
* ''Webcomic/WeakHero'': Jimmy is initially introduced as a bully that tormented the weak and antagonized Gray for days until Gray publically defeats him. Later on, he is reintroduced as having been abandoned by his friends and Philip. He goes on to save Eugene from delinquents after remembering Eugene's loyalty to Gray compared to that of his ex-friends. And to further cement [[HeelFaceTurn his Heel-Face turn,]] he is shown adopting [[AbandonedPetInABox a kitten that was under a cardboard box]] in the pouring rain.
* In ''Webcomic/{{xkcd}}'', Black Hat Guy gets such a moment [[http://xkcd.com/142/ which includes baking a cake]]. Aw...
