'''Commerce'''

Out of all the Houses in the Pantheon, the House of Commerce is the one that would fit best in a modern Earth city. It would still get a few odd looks, though. From the outside, it looks something like a boxy castle with several towers, all metal with glass windows that reflect the light. Each tower houses its own CEO and their staff. The lowest floor of the main building is permanently flooded with four feet of water, the better for a tiny pirate ship to navigate. Other floors have their walls splashed with brightly-colored advertisements for pretty much everything - the only square inches not given over to an ad are in the CEO towers.

The place is infested with [[MoneySpider weird little robots that can be destroyed for cash. It's also populated with Gray Mann's robots who fulfill the same function]], [[MechaMooks but aren't quite as easy to destroy]]. [[Pantheon/RobotsAndAutomata Primus]] is not amused, and [[Franchise/{{Transformers}} his children]] have not-so-secretly infiltrated the Pantheon to make sure it doesn't get out of hand.

There's been a mini contest to get [[Pantheon/{{Heroism}} Commander Shepard]] to say "[[CelebrityEndorsement I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite House in the Pantheon]]." in each House. So far, there hasn't been any success.

They would have even more riches if Jay Gatsby, who is in the Pantheon/CausesOfSadness sub-house in the House of Pantheon/{{Despondency}}, shared his fortune with them.

They have also kept a leery eye on [[Pantheon/{{Planning}} Petyr Baelish]], despite his experience as Seven Kingdoms' Master of Coin.

{{Troll}}s are not allowed, due to the fear that they will cause the Stock Market to crash, and the fact that they may inflate prices up the market. [[Pantheon/{{Metafiction}} Bernkastel]] has been trying to find a way to remove this, much to the entire House of Commerce's chagrin.

As Cinderella is a Princess of Heart, security here is tight, so any attempts to capture her or use her to recreate the χ-blade will result in a temporary ban from the House.

* EvilCounterpart to: [[Pantheon/{{Narrative}} Charles Foster Kane]]
* SympathyForTheDevil from: [[Pantheon/{{Thieves}} Haru Okumura]]
* When you think of greed, you imagine it comes from a lack of stuff. But Mr Burns is at minimum a multi-millionaire, and he'd give it all away for the same, plus a dollar. From trying to dominate ''all'' power venues in the city, beg and grovel for a measly (to him) 106K, scrounging for dollars; he could have all the money in the world and not be happy. To no-one's surprise, this is reflected in him being a CorruptCorporateExecutive, to CartoonishSupervillainy levels. This unparalleled greed and avarice has gotten him a spot in the Tropes Pantheon, much to the dismay of the other gods.
** Some are surprised that he didn't ascend after dying, considering that he's physically on his last legs. In fact, rumour has it that someone tried to poison him in his sleep on his first day. Given that his temple was packed with security at the time this is close to impossible.
* Oddly enough, Burns was not born a greedy psychopath. His current personality is largely because of [[AbusiveParents his adoptive father (and biological grandfather) Wainwright Burns]], a former slaveholder who pleasured himself by abusing his immigrant laborers. What is doubly gut-punching is that Wainwright adopted Burns specifically to turn him into a greedy, heartless man like himself. [[GoneHorriblyRight He would get his wish]]: by the end of his university years Mr. Burns [[{{Matricide}} tried to kill his mother Daphne]] and later went on to join the SS (''Schutzstaffel''), get dishonorably discharged from the US Army for attempting to sell German portraits and sabotaging post-WWII reconstruction of Europe by stealing a trillion-dollar bill from President Truman. He opened the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant after a brief stint as a bio-chemist and bio-terrorist, which he owns to this day. The plant is likely the only thing that he truly cares about; after all, it is the center of his business empire. So much in fact that he successfully got it made a Dominion separate from the rest of Springfield.
* His dream in the Trope Pantheon is to achieve complete and total control over the House of Commerce. Basically, everyone there is a rival and it'd be easier to list what heroic deities from there aren't his enemy. The exceptions being Wario (who he can use his greed for his own purposes), Mr Krabs, Moneybags (who share enough in common to get along wonderfully), Morbucks and the Reagan twins (who he's fond of [[RichBitch for obvious reasons]]). The acquisitions and frauds he's accumulated during his time there (plus the fact that even the Court doesn't even known half of them) are legendary and are what got him recruited by Melkor into the Pantheon/GrandUnitedAllianceOfEvil along with one of his now arch-rivals Gray Mann as co-head of the Pantheon/GUAEVileSpecialists and his personal financial advisor. Burns now owns a controlling stake in nearly all of the GUAE's dummy corporations and their recreational Villain Pub and is one of the Alliance's richest members. However, his constant infighting with Mann over designing their shared GUAE headquarters forced Melkor to downgrade him to day-to-day business while the ''Warhammer'' Chaos Gods took overall command of the Vile Specialists.
* [[{{Expy}} Similar to Charles Foster Kane]], however he is a lot more evil. The most consistent reason [[FreudianExcuse why Mr Burns is the way he is]] comes from being adopted from his cold, heartless billionaire, leaving behind his precious teddy bear Bobo. He now has the bear, and SCP-1048 wants to influence Mr Burns through this to terrible ends. Lex Luthor wants him to help re-establish a new presidential campaign. As for Kane, he doesn't like Burns ''at all'' since unlike him, most of Burn's misdeeds came from the pleasure of seeing people suffer while he more often than not just succumbed to temptation and a desire for power which caused his downfall. He and many of his partners refuse to do business with him.
* Mom could be considered his [[WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}} 31st century equivalent]], albeit more subdued. They soon became smitten [[Creator/BongoComics in a crossover]] ([[OlderThanTheyThink no]], [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS26E6Simpsorama not that one]]). And they're now more capable of pursuing that relationship, much to [[IgnoredEnamoredUnderling Smithers]] and [[BelligerentSexualTension Professor Farnsworth's]] consternation.
* Mr Burns wants to ally with Lysandre, but he refused. Mainly because he's the kind of person Lysandre feels needs to be removed to ensure the world is beautiful. However [[OmnicidalManiac he]] shares opposition to the House of Nature with Mr Burns. In hindsight he figures that an alliance would've been a bad idea for him [[EvilVersusOblivion as there is little money to be made in the end of the world]].
* Has been hoarding money underneath the golden escalator to the Pantheon he constructed for himself. He frequently visits Satan down in Hell to [[ChessWithDeath play poker]], to whom he owes his long life. Which Satan? Nobody is sure, but [[Pantheon/{{Ambiguity}} the Lucifer who rebels against]] [[Pantheon/ReligionAndFaith YHVH]] and [[Pantheon/{{Demons}} the Satan who serves YHVH]] say they aren't to blame. Given ThePowerOfHate is all that keeps him alive, he might actually be sustained by ''[[Pantheon/ObsceneActions Khorne]]'' of all beings and just assumed he was Satan.
* Often visits the House of Pantheon/HatredAndRancor to better understand and appreciate the venom and bile that sustains him. He got on a lot of people's shit list for offering business deals with Dr Weil, as he wants Weil to destroy nature and establish a bunch of industrial works in Neo Arcadia. While Weil's primary goal is [[DystopiaJustifiesTheMeans the suffering of those unfortunate enough for him to have power over]], industrializing it works just fine. Just so long as Springfield itself in untouched and Mr Burns gets a whole lot of money, he's happy and doesn't give a damn what other people think.
* Given his cartoonish evil, Indigo-1 [[HeelFaceBrainwashing wants to forcefully induct him into the Indigo Tribe]]. Larfleeze by contrast is so impressed by his avarice he is one of his only friends. The Phantom Thieves have also shown interest in changing his heart. Haru, given her background, does have some pity for Mr Burns because it would literally kill him to be nice outside of brief bursts and fears they'll end up killing him to stop his KarmaHoudini status. Mr Burns think he's safe from having a Palace because while those that have one have twisted desires, [[CardCarryingVillain he knows exactly what he is]]... well, that's his defense anyway.
* [[MultipleChoicePast It's difficult to say]], but his age [[HistoricalRapSheet has led to his involvement in a number of historical crimes]]. As stated before he was even an SS officer at one point until defecting back to the United States due to his American heritage, and still works as a business partner to the Red Skull. Many German deities dislike him regardless since he got dishonorably discharged from the US Army for mishandling German paintings[[note]]after leaving the SS, obviously[[/note]]. Naturally, this enrages Captain America. Theodore Roosevelt once beat him up, and upon learning he is the embodiment of the corrupt plutocracy his presidency worked to bust, wish he beat him up harder. FDR hates him just as much for his flagrantly evil corporate policies and thanks to the whole Social Security thing this feeling is mutual.
* [[RememberWhenYouBlewUpASun Remember that time when he tried to block out the sun]]? It was his vain attempt to monopolize all energy in Springfield. Even he is smart enough to know destroying the sun [[ApocalypseHow would be cataclysmic]], however he is trying to eliminate all solar deities from the pantheon because that would let him pull the same stunt again. To this end, he is working with the Grand Duke of Owls to stop the sunrise.
** [[VideoGame/TheSimpsonsArcadeGame How about the time he and Smithers tried to kidnap Maggie just because she had a jewel in her mouth?]] Of course not; it actually never happened. Just ask Smithers! Still, Burns is interested in the idea of owning a transforming mech...
* Once attempted to make a deal with Scrooge [=McDuck=] into investing in his businesses with the secret objective of embezzling the duck's wealth. However, not only was he seen through by Scrooge, who refused the deal, but also scared away the hounds sent after him with just one glance. Mr Burns wants to get [[Pantheon/{{Canines}} Cerberus]] on his side, so has been trying to convince [[Pantheon/{{Unpopularity}} Hades]] to loan him in order to chase Scrooge away.
* Never seen on a Friday night for some reason. During these disappearances, some Gods have reported seeing an alien that wants to bring "peace and love" in the forest nearby. [[spoiler:The "alien" and Mr. Burns are one and the same]].
* Burns has sworn on his life to destroy the House of Nature and build a pollution faculty on its remains. In retaliation, the deities in that house have banned him for life, especially after learning of his oil business that cost an underfunded school millions in dollars, and how he used a recycling plant to kill sea life and turn them into slurry for dynamiters.
* The only part of the House of Nature he likes is the Hall of Pantheon/PoisonAndToxicity. Horrifyingly, he has actually made deals with the Lich, who is empowered by the nuclear waste and radiation Mr Burns' plant creates. The Lich isn't going to attack Springfield...yet. [[PragmaticVillainy Mr Burns is too useful a tool to dispose of yet]]. Hexxus, however, openly embraces the plutocratic mindset of the cruel billionaire and the two are best friends.
* Given his aggressively anti-environmentalism, much of the House of Beast decries Mr Burns. However Burns is a FriendToBugs, being a beekeeper and he likes tarantulas. It's one of the moments of kindness that remains consistent. Despite finding him to be really evil, Shino Aburame, Sig and Agitha are able to get along with him looking after insects. [[HiddenDepths It's surprisingly tender for Mr Burns]]. Toxie, however, uses the power of the pollutants the plant pulls off to try and destroy Mr Burns and prevent his ruination of nature.
* Has a charity for both the House of Pantheon/{{Insects}} and House of Pantheon/{{Arthropods}}. Shelob and Lolth consider him a useful idiot, while consider Black Arachnia and Arachne him a friend. While she thinks he needs an attitude adjustment, Mr Burns is genuinely compassionate towards Charlotte. [[MoralityPet He'll at least think before considering polluting if it hurts her feelings]].
* Even when he's trying to be good, he's still evil, like his idea of recycling included the actual animal life to create an all-purpose slurry. Mr Burns did have one noticeable stint as a superhero, that being Fruit Bat Man. Stylized after Batman (who hates his corrupt nature), initially Mr Smithers [[EngineeredHeroics was setting up problems for him to fix]] to help his ego, but eventually he was able to do heroic things for real. [[JerkWithAHeartOfJerk However his occasional moments of genuine goodness are just that; moments]].
* The Lizardmen of Lustria, Kroq-Gar among them, see gold as plaques to be written onto. He wants to steal some gold, putting him on the Lizardmen's shit-list as even stealing one pound of gold would prompt them to chase down the thief to the very ends of the Earth. Mr Burns and the House of Commerce as a whole are afraid of the Lizardmen, given how dedicated and relentless they are towards their goals, territory and possessions. Mr Burns has put Hazel on his shit-list for the inevitable demise that befell him ([[HoistByHisOwnPetard ignoring a radiation-based danger of his own faulty plant]] [[SkewedPriorities because he was too busy bribing the safety inspectors]]) when he tried to take her cursed gems, however she thinks [[NeverMyFault he is deflecting blame]] given this was down to his own {{Greed}}.
* ''If you can take advantage of a situation in some way, it's your duty as an American to do it. Why should the race always be to the swift, or the Jumble to the quick-witted? Should they be allowed to win merely because of the gifts God gave them? Well I say, "Cheating is the gift man gives himself."''

* WorthyOpponent: [[Pantheon/BluntWeapons Shovel Knight]]
* Mr. Burns at one time attempted to offer him a shady deal, one which magnificently backfired in Burns's face.
* Used his reality-warping wealth to purchase a ticket to the Pantheon. Once there, he spent years outfoxing the members of the House of Knowledge and standing up to the House of Combat (or, as he puts it, "being smarter than the smarties and tougher than the toughies"). He may be a ruthless and penny-pinching duck, but he wholeheartedly and truly believes in making wealth square, without resorting to underhanded tactics, believing it would not be worth it. [[ComicBook/TheLifeAndTimesOfScroogeMcDuck He should know; the one time he deviated from his moral code]], [[MyGreatestFailure the choice left him an embittered and broken duck for decades]], [[MyGreatestSecondChance until he met Donald and his nephews]].
* Freddy Krueger once tried to end his godhood by invading one of his dreams. Considering what happened to the last people who tried to sneak into his mind, [[CurbStompBattle the results were pretty obvious]]...
* For an old duck, his adventuring skills (especially for treasure hunts) are of great note. [[VideoGame/DuckTales He has ventured to places like the Amazon, Transylvania, the Himalayas, and the Moon]], he has kicked ass (in some cases, he did this by bouncing off of opponents' heads, using his cane as a Pogo stick), and he's done it many times ([[VideoGame/DuckTales two of which have been recorded in video game format]]). Even more noteworthy, [[ComicBook/TheLifeAndTimesOfScroogeMcDuck the Good Book]] clearly shows how much of a badass he was in his younger days, why he values the money in his bin more for memories than for actual value, and how idiotic it is to try to steal anything from him.
* He is one of the few gods who has ever defeated Teddy Roosevelt in a fight, though he doesn't brag much about it. They still seem rather fond of each other due to their past adventures.
* Nobody attempts to pull off his physics-defying trick of diving and swimming through heaps of solid gold coins, not even the gods. The last person who tried it, [[WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy Peter Griffin]], ended up... well... [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqqfGXrX__8 see for yourselves]]. (WARNING: Grievous, un-cartoonish injuries)
** Unsurprisingly, it turns out it's because of all the endurance and strength he built up over the years. He tells this specifically to Louie in their new cartoon.
* Got into the ice cream business once... but his prized ice cream was pulled into the depths of the [[Pantheon/AquaticLife Aquatic Life sub-house]] of the House of Pantheon/BeastsAndFauna. He was ranting "A SEA MONSTER HAS STOLEN MY ICE CREAM!" for quite some time. His nephews could be heard muttering something about "deja vu".
** He's also been promoting sea salt ice-cream and nearly got into a fist fight ''with an army of Unversed''. Many are wondering what would've happened if Scrooge actually did go toe-to-toe with Heartless.
* Despite being a successful businessduck, there are some areas of business his tight-fisted strategies failed him. [[WesternAnimation/HouseOfMouse His stint in show business]] wasn't exactly a profitable one nor a fun time for anyone involved.
* [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_Inspired_by_the_Life_and_Times_of_Scrooge He became quite interested when he heard that some musicians created an album of music based off his lifetime of adventures.]] Needless to say, [[TearJerker many powerful emotions and memories both negative]] [[SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments and positive overwhelmed the old duck]].
* A severe misunderstanding led to [[WebAnimation/DeathBattle Shovel Knight in a fight against Scrooge McDuck]]. After an intense fight, Scrooge [[spoiler:got the upper hand thanks to two rayguns he once used to get rid of the Beagle Boys and won]]. Nonetheless, with the misunderstanding cleared up, he has gained great respect for the Knight. He has also shown great fascination in Shovel Knight's Alchemy Coin (while also wondering why he didn't use the Phase Locket to evade the last attack[[note]]He had actually since returned it to [[Pantheon/BossDesign Specter Knight]] and has yet to find a substitute, nor did he wish to borrow it from him again due to how important it is[[/note]]).
* Despite being a very frugal duck, he is a surprisingly BigEater. Granted, Scrooge doesn't indulge on his own pay, but he is often seen at the House of Food indulging in ''a lot'' of food (often lentils, his favorite food) whenever it's free or on someone else's tab.
* Due to his frugal nature, he usually only wears 2 types of outfits: one Red, and one blue. That being said, his wardrobe has expanded slightly of late. It's now been revealed he also has an explorer's outfit for hotter climates, a winter coat for hiking, and even a golf outfit.
** Speaking of Golf, he holds a special fondness for the game, in part because his ancestor Black Donald [=McDuck=] was responsible for inventing the game. (and getting it banned for years due to being a poor sport). He's actually a decent player, though sometimes cautious with his shot choices.
* Scrooge has been [[WesternAnimation/DuckTales2017 prepping his spats and the Pantheon was abuzz with activity when it was announced he would be returning to adventuring once more]].
** With the news that [[SpiritualSuccessor his new adventures would be made in part by those who helped make Gravity Falls,]] he ended up befriending Dipper and Mabel. Mabel reminds him of a more headstrong (if not bombastic) Webby while Dipper reminds Scrooge of his own nephews. He also found Mabel's attempts to get the triplets to call him "Grunkle Scrooge" (since he is their great-uncle) somewhat amusing.
** His newfound friendship with them also makes him an enemy of Bill Cipher. Bill also attempted to invade Scrooge's dreams and failed just as badly as the others. Beyond that, the fact that Bill is a colossal con artist and just an amoral psychopath of the highest degree has earned him the enmity of Scrooge, especially since Bill once threatened the triplets. Bill, for his part, does little to antagonize Scrooge. [[spoiler:He already met his end at the hand of one greedy old-timer, and Scrooge is certainly more threatening than Stan Pines was]].
** Also of late, people have asked why he sometimes sounds like [[Creator/DavidTennant The Doctor]]. Scrooge always gives grumpy looks whenever someone calls him the Ducktor during these times. After all, he was Scottish long before the Doctor ever had a Scottish voice.
* He was seen playing rugby with [[Franchise/{{Highlander}} Connor Macleod, his grand-nephew Duncan]] and [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure Jonathan Joestar]], finding kinship with the three heroes for sharing a proud common heritage of [[BraveScot Scottish Warrior Blood in their veins]].
** In particular, he has a strong fondness for Jonathan. Not only because the first Jojo is an intelligent and upstanding gentleman, but because the [[BadassFamily the Joestar clan]] in many ways reminds him of the escapades and adventures the Duck-[=McDuck=] clan have gone on.
* Scrooge for his part was happy that being a god meant he wasn't the oldest person he knew anymore. After all, being a 151-year-old duck is no light matter, so he's happy to make friends with other Gods who've been around the block just as much as he has.

* Opposed by: [[Pantheon/MachineryAndTechnology Noah Kaiba]] (his step-brother)
* Conflicting Opinion from: [[Pantheon/{{Thieves}} The Phantom Thieves of Hearts]]
* Orphaned at a young age, Seto and his little brother, Mokuba, were adopted by the rich businessman, Gozaburo Kaiba, after Seto beat Gozaburo at a game of Chess. What appeared to be a victory soon turned into a bitter curse as Gozaburo began acting abusive towards Seto to shape him into the cold, ruthless person that he believed was worthy to take over his company. Seto took to these lessons far better than even his adoptive father could have expected, and, after ousting Gozaburo from his position as CEO and Chairman of [=KaibaCorp=], turned the company into the world's largest multi-national gaming corporation. An expert gamer, especially of Duel Monsters, Kaiba believes that losing at anything, even games, is equivalent to dying. He is single-minded in his goal of becoming the greatest duelist in the world.
* At first, Kaiba reacted to the news of Yugi's ascension with an angry "That's ridiculous! [[ArbitrarySkepticism People don't become Gods]]!" He changed his mind in a hurry when Karin Kanzuki ''bought'' a mansion next door to his palace that was [[BigFancyHouse almost twice as big as his own]]. They both have connections. Kaiba then made it his personal mission to get himself a spot in the Pantheon as well. Chafing at the restrictions of the Pantheon, he attempted to buy the positions of other Gods to usurp one of their positions. To the surprise of many, this gambit came very close to succeeding, and the Court of the Gods were forced to offer him a different trope to stop him. That's how Seto Kaiba became the God of Screwing the Rules with Money (...he had the title changed shortly after accepting it).
* He also has a fierce but ultimately friendly rivalry with Yami Yugi, the God of [[AbsurdlyHighStakesGame Absurdly High-Stakes Games]] and Yugi Muto, the KingOfGames. He'll never stop trying to take his title—both inside the Pantheon and outside of it.
** After a long period of constant demanding and challenging (during which a [[Anime/YuGiOhTheDarkSideOfDimensions series of events took place]] that he's only just returned from), Kaiba finally got his wish for [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQG1kz1L5iw a duel with the Pharaoh]]. Using both old and new cards and strategies, both duelists were pushed to their limits, [[spoiler: but ultimately the Pharaoh managed to pull out another win against all odds. Kaiba has backed off for now, but history serves to prove that he'll be back before long]].
* Noah Kaiba of the House of Technology often [[VirtualGhost uploads himself]] into Seto Kaiba's mainframe, being jealous of his position. For his part, Seto constantly designs and redesigns firewalls and other security systems to keep the brat out. His tower is adorned with variations on the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and there are hologram stations in every cubicle.
* His MoralityPet is his younger brother, Mokuba Kaiba. He's the only other person who can get him to lighten up a bit. Mokuba helps his brother run the day-to-day activities of [=KaibaCorp=], and served as his Herald in the Pantheon for a long time. Mokuba also seems to get along decently well with their stepbrother, as shown when Noah embarked on a secret campaign to get Mokuba his own temple, with a seat dedicated to how much he looks up to big brother Kaiba, no less. While Seto and Noah are still at odds, this has helped to ease tensions.
* He has grown quite an affection for [[Pantheon/{{Otherness}} Paarthurnax]] as well as the large stone where he learns people about the Thu'um. [[WebVideo/YuGiOhTheAbridgedSeries Where else is he going to find a giant rock along with a giant dragon]]? Sadly, the many visits of Dovahkiin bothers him greatly.
* Despite his cold attitude, he does have [[HiddenHeartOfGold a soft spot in his heart]]: orphans. This is due to his backstory and he plans to open an amusement park for orphans and homeless children can roam about for free. This touched the hearts of many gods, some shedding a SingleTear at the story.
** There is also one thing that he ''really'' despises: AbusiveParents which stem from his childhood with the man who adopted him and Mokuba, Gozaburo. He met up with Uncle Howee who made a deal with him: he brings up the Ayasaki parents, and in exchange he simply asked that for all of the House of Commerce to get their well-earned revenge on the two of them, all Howee asked was for the Gods to come to his special show that night. Kaiba agreed, and thus rallied the House of Commerce to attack the two bastards. Uncle Howee returned the favor by having the Ayasaki parents (transformed into marionettes) perform on his show. Uncle Howee walked away that night a millionaire. Seto himself has some odd feelings with the man. On the one hand, Howee reminds him of Pegasus, but on the other, he is easier to get along with and since the thing with Ayasaki, admitted to having enjoyed seeing the man at work.
* Would like it for other gods to STOP making [[Creator/EricStuart comparisons]] to [[Pantheon/VillainousSuccessAndFailure James of Team Rocket]] and [[Pantheon/RomanticInterest Brock]]. He's getting sick and tired of that. And for [[Pantheon/{{Food}} Kirby]] and [[Pantheon/{{Leadership}} King Dedede]], no he is not some masked freak who goes by the name [[Pantheon/{{Travel}} "Meta Knight"]]... and his anger toward Meta Knight grew when he tried to challenge the former to a duel. Meta Knight agreed to it... by tossing a sword to Kaiba's face.
* Sometimes plays chess with Lelouch and Light Yagami. Unfortunately, despite his skills, he's nowhere near their level of gambits and strategy. He doesn't take these losses seriously (in contrast with his duels with Yugi Muto) and for Lelouch and Light's part, they've decided not to Geass/Death Note him as he's a WorthyOpponent in the game.
* When told of Spyro's surprising power for his size and age, Kaiba laughed asked if he was ''really'' expected to believe that a purple pipsqueak could stand up to the Blue Eyes White Dragon. Spyro has said he's eager to prove it to Kaiba when he gets the chance.
* [[Manga/RurouniKenshin Himura Kenshin]] is the only person he'd ever avoid, as he's unaffected with his rules-screwing and bribery would just net him a hard crash with his Sakabato while being scolded to ask his money to save him from that crash.
* Is amused that several of his many [[{{Expy}} "followers"]] has ascended. Though he tried to hide it by saying "Well, it was about time one of them did".
* Hates it whenever [[VideoGame/LeagueOfLegends Twisted Fate]] borrows some of his cards to get thrown away, slashing other people and blowing things up, apparently the rarer the card, the bigger the damage. Kaiba has no problems in reacquiring them because he's stinkin' rich, but it gets annoying if he has to repeat that ad nauseum.
* Has shown to be having tea with Princess Peach and her parasol friend, Perry. While he will never admit it, he is shown to be close to Perry because of how the parasol reminds him of his brother, Mokuba. He's now devoted to figure out how to transform Perry back into a human.

* This position was formerly held by [[WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes Acme]], but [=BnL=] bought Acme in 2002, closed Acme's legendary anvil forge in Sandusky, Ohio, and puts the name on cheap, Bangladeshi-made ''plastic'' anvils. [[LongList Someday they'll run out of ultra-low-wage countries]]...
* [[AllThereInTheManual It is said that]] [=BnL=] started as two small companies: one that sold frozen yogurts, and one that sold large clothing. After realizing eating one made you need to buy the other, they joined forces and only grew from there, eventually becoming [[MegaCorp the world's largest and most powerful company]], [[NGOSuperpower effectively in control of Earth and its governments]]. A world leader in every conceivable field, [=BnL=] [[AcmeProducts promoted and created products for all of humanity]], which led to [[ApocalypseHow a state of mass consumerism that eventually covered the entire planet in un-recycled refuse, rendering it uninhabitable to human life]].
** To save humanity, the company built a [[TheArk series of spaceships that would]] [[HomeworldEvacuation take humans on a 5-year vacation]] while [=BnL=] started "Operation Cleanup", using an army of small cleaning robots called WALL•E to cleanse the Earth. Unfortunately, when the robots failed to accomplish the task in the expected time, the company declared Earth inhospitable and ordered all of his space cruises to [[GenerationShips remain afloat forever]], [[WellIntentionedExtremist believing it to be humanity's only hope of survival]]. And while WALL•E and EVE managed to bring the Axiom back to Earth, there's still a lot of other starships out there.
** Of course, this didn't sit well with the House of Nature, seeing as how [=BnL=] is mostly responsible for transforming their version of Earth into a [[EarthThatWas barren inhospitable dump]] and then [[CorruptCorporateExecutive opting for leaving it that way when their plan didn't work]].
*** And according to [[https://youtu.be/jlOM32b0FP8 one theorist]], [[spoiler:[=BnL=] might've ''deliberately'' orchestrated this as conventional money-saving methods in the present day ''also end up being eco-friendly'', however tangentially]].
* Despite their vast influence, [=BnL=] is shrouded in ambiguity. While it holds the title of Celestial {{Mega Corp}}oration, the company has no physical representative in the Pantheon and its actual divine rank is a mystery to all. Its last known CEO was Shelby Forthright, who [[ScrewThisImOutOfHere gave up on restoring Earth and simply ordered for all of [=BnL=]'s ships to stay in space]]. By the time humans returned to Earth, the company was practically extinct, only living on through the technology and few members they left behind.
** Despite this, [=BnL=]'s logo has been sighted in [[WesternAnimation/ToyStory3 numerous]] [[WesternAnimation/{{Up}} other]] [[WesternAnimation/Cars3 places]] after that, implying their influence extends beyond their work of origin. If true, it would be fair to say that [=BnL=] still lives, albeit only operating in the background.
** Even [[InconsistentSpelling the way its name must be spelled is ambiguous]]. Is it Buy N Large? Or Buy 'n' Large? Or is it Buy-N-Large? [[RunningGag Maybe Buy&Large? Or Buy'N'Large...?]] It's no wonder everybody just calls it [=BnL=].
* As an exaggerated FictionalCounterpart of hypermarket corporations in general, specially UsefulNotes/{{Walmart}}, [=BnL=] provides practically everything and anything its clients would ever need, such as health products, food, clothing, technology, robots, furniture, vehicles, homes, roads, insurances and so forth, and they're easily recognizable because [=BnL=] loves to [[SigilSpam spam their brand everywhere as much as possible]], even over [[MediumAwareness the credits of their work of origin]]. With so many products, it's no surprise a lot of deities in the Pantheon buy and use them commonly, as not only are these products cheap but it'd be a severe {{understatement}} to say that said products are [[RagnarokProofing built to last]].
** However, it's no exaggeration to say that [=BnL=] has a brand on practically everything, as [[DisneyOwnsThisTrope they hold copyrights over common yet downright intangible concepts such as north]] (as in, the ''cardinal direction''). While Carmen Sandiego was initially surprised by this, it didn't stop her from [[IntangibleTheft stealing north from them]] anyway.
** Of course, its vast commercial monopoly is often threatened by competing companies and [=CEOs=], which has resulted in rivals such as Mr. Burns, Looten Plunder, Gray Mann, Saxton Hale and Norman Osborn. On the other hand, [[VillainWithGoodPublicity Lex Luthor]] has preferred to stay on [=BnL=]'s good side and ally himself with the company, as has done The GEICO Gecko.
** On a similar note, Jonathan Irons has supposedly forged an alliance with [=BnL=], noting that not only do their companies operate in very similar ways but also that they work in different sectors and thus could complement each other.
* If life inside their [[TheArk Axiom]] is anything to go by, living under [=BnL=] means living in a world where technology performs all human tasks, as humans themselves merely consume and laze around, [[BigFatFuture growing fat and complacent thanks to their complete lack of activities]], as well as docile and obedient due to their dependence on technology, thus creating a [[CrapsaccharineWorld surprisingly depressing setting in spite of its initial cheerfulness]]. Furthermore, the passengers practically live under the control of machines who would do anything to follow [=BnL=]'s orders of maintaining the status quo, all while telling the humans that [=BnL=] is ''[[TheComputerIsYourFriend "your very best friend"]]''. Both the [[Pantheon/GrandUnitedAllianceOfLaw GUAL]] and [[Pantheon/GrandUnitedAllianceOfMachines GUAM]] have taken notice of this, and thus have expressed interest in contacting [=BnL=] and maybe forming an alliance, but nobody knows if this has gone anywhere... yet.
** Of course, the House of Technology has also gathered interest in [=BnL=] due to its extensive use of robotics and technology. However, most of the house doesn't hold [=BnL=] in high regard because of the setting the company ended up creating and its disregard for taking responsibility for its actions, which gives [[NewMediaAreEvil a bad name to technology]] in general. One notable case is Torbjorn, who uses [=BnL=] as a perfect example of the dangers of depending too much on machines and AI, especially ones who could turn on their creators one day.
