It was probably due to some kids being frightened by the bumper.

The cat's screeching doesn't help either, with it sounding '''WAY''' too loud. It was '''SO''' loud, that the bumper ended up being canned by 1992. Had the cat been screeching like the cat in the bumper, it'd probably wake up the whole town.
