* "Hey, you wanna see something ''really'' scary?"[[note]]A driver (Creator/AlbertBrooks) pulls the car over at the behest of his passenger friend (Creator/DanAykroyd) to show him a scary prank. After momentarily lowering his head, Aykroyd pops back up having turned into a [[http://dangerousuniverse.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/tumblr_ln4rp2UlA51qingg5o1_500.jpg white-haired blue-grayish demonic monster of some kind]] and starts attacking Brooks before we cut to a ScreamDiscretionShot of the parked car. It can really catch you off-guard if you're watching it for the first time.[[/note]]
* Anthony brings a demented-looking [[WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes Tazmanian Devil]]-like character out out of the TV into real life and [[UncannyValley it looks almost real]]. Then he brings his (false) sister into the cartoon world to have her eaten alive by a cartoon monster and [[AndIMustScream robs his real sister of her mouth.]] The world he creates is demented in and of itself. He also summons a demonic mutant rabbit out of hat. What's worse, he has no idea why people would find his ideas of toons frightening.
** The worse part about the rabbit trick is that Walt actually [[CatScare pulls a real, adorable rabbit out]] [[BaitAndSwitch the first time]], making it [[JumpScare more effective]] when the actual mutant rabbit pops out.
** The photo of the people with no faces and that scary unsettling noise when Helen looked at the picture.
*** Worse yet, the implications of the picture are even more horrifying. It’s stated later that Anthony did ''something'' to his real parents, and knowing what he did to his real sister and [[FridgeHorror after having seen the portrait...]]
** When Helen tries to get out of the house and opens the door, all she sees a huge human eye.
** The idea of those people being held hostage to be Anthony's new "family". Who knows how long they've been kept away from their original lives.
** ''WesternAnimation/BimbosInitiation'' is surreal and scary on its own. Put within the context of this segment, it becomes terrifying.
** "...or maybe he'll do to you what he did to his ''real'' mother and father." Just what exactly did Anthony do to them? His own parents. Given the horror in Ethel's tone, it's likely something not worth thinking about. Practically a master class in NothingIsScarier.
* The gremlin standing outside Mr. Valentine's window, which makes his eyes bulge out in a creepy way when he sees it.
** The slow buildup to that moment. Even if you're completely unfamiliar with the classic episode being adapted, you just ''know'' Valentine is going to open that shutter again and he's going to see something horrible when he does. The placid music while he tries to fall asleep yields to unsettling, staccato strings on the soundtrack as the uneasily resting look on his face slowly gives way to palpable distress, with the camera tight in on his face, ramping up the tension until finally he can't ignore it any longer and turns to open the shutter, and '''''[[NightmareFace OH HOLY JESUS GOD IT'S RIGHT THERE AT THE WINDOW!!]]'''''
* The opening to the segment, with him suffering a panic attack in the airplane bathroom. The claustrophobic cinematography, Music/JerryGoldsmith's driving, pulsating string soundtrack and Creator/JohnLithgow's excellently convincing acting are all highly unsettling and do a great job at putting the viewer on edge.
* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: The gremlin in the original episode was simply an actor in makeup. Here, however, the creature is much more frightening in appearance; when it's revealed in full at the end, it's a horrifying payoff.
