* The entire concept of being a [[DoubleSpeak "unit of interest"]]. After arriving in Axiom Nexus via an AppliedPhlebotinum accident or a NegativeSpaceWedgie or such (it's implied few end up there on purpose), you get told that due to the crime of simply having technology in your body that's special or unique from the [=TransTechs=]' POV and you were probably created with (or otherwise can't easily remove), you'll never be allowed to return home and [[GildedCage must stay in Axiom Nexus for the rest of your existence]]. ...Under surveillance. And that's if you're ''lucky''. If you're less lucky, you may be imprisoned in some manner. And if you're not lucky at all, you'll be StrappedToAnOperatingTable and [[PlayingWithSyringes subjected to experiments]] so the [[TheyWouldCutYouUp TransTechs can study you]].
* Even if you're not a unit of interest, you get implanted with an "identification bolt" which contains detailed personal information on your body capabilities and personality, and can be read easily by any [=TransTech=] even without your permission.\
And even if you're allowed to leave Axiom Nexus (Eventually. Once you work through all the proper paperwork and fees.), the [=TransTechs=] have full control over where they send you. Which can involve "an approved alternate reality" instead of your real home universe.
* The possibility of meeting up with members of the local LaResistance, with a mech that can [[http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Image:TopspinRipsOutaSpark_Reunification2.jpg forcibly swap or extract]] your very [[OurSoulsAreDifferent spark]] from your chest, and a leader who thinks the resulting {{Empty Shell}}s make [[http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Image:Alphatrionceilingofcorpses.jpg good ceiling decorations]].
* In "Withered Hope", we are given a glimpse of General Demolishor's alternate mode. Considering the character, it's probably ''supposed'' to be some kind of tank, but it really doesn't look like much besides [[http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Image:General_Demolishor_Altmode.jpg a horrible metallic monstrosity]].
* The fact that, as oppressive as the [=TransTechs'=] security is for anyone they deem different, it's almost arguably justified, since:
-->''[[EldritchAbomination "There were]] ''[[EldritchAbomination things]]'' [[EldritchAbomination that defied known science that lived within the void of transwarp, creatures of pure malice that could not exist within the material plane. It was virtually impossible that the second stream contained any of these extraplanar creatures, but their taint could affect material beings; such 'avatars' did rarely appear, and were capable of incredible destruction for the unwary and unprepared."]]''
* And the entire story of "I, Lowtech" is basically pure horror from start to finish. Since it's a bleak SanitySlippage ProtagonistJourneyToVillain story that tells of a law-abiding [=TransTech=] executive [[GrandTheftMe ending up in the wrong body]] and going slowly insane and turning into a violent serial killer in his quest to survive in the [[TheCityNarrows dregs of Axiom Nexus]] and find out what happened to him. All told from the first-person POV of the mech in question, who is convinced to the last that he's actually the OnlySaneMan in the deal. And WordOfGod has it that [[http://www.allspark.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=71722&view=findpost&p=1603285 the story was actually]] ''[[http://www.allspark.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=71722&view=findpost&p=1603285 toned down]]'' [[http://www.allspark.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=71722&view=findpost&p=1603285 from the initial outline]], despite the fact that it is still easily one of the [[DarkerAndEdgier Darkest and Edgiest]] stories in the Transformers mythos.
