When the mutation is corrected, they prove to be the larvae of a beautiful colony creature called "sparkledancers" who flow harmlessly through space.[[/note]] Point of fact, [[spoiler: the mutant variety travel in gigantic swarms, and they eat people alive, and we get to see it.]]
