1	Due to this game being DarkerAndEdgier than the standard MascotFighter, heavy doses of NightmareFuel were inevitable.

3	* Polygon Man. [Three unfortunate fighters in Story Mode then became his minions, and now he makes you have to fight them again, only now, they are glowing purple with yellow eyes. It looks remarkably wrong on many characters. And if you fail to beat him, he turns you into one of his own as well. Made especially disturbing if you're playing as someone cute like [=PaRappa=], Sackboy, or Spike. Heck, the boss battle in general: stuck in a purple battle arena with Polygon Man taunting you as you fight your purple mutated rivals.
4	* Isaac Clarke's default losing animation. Most of the other characters just look angry, upset or disappointed when they lose... Isaac, on the other hand, desperately claws at the ground as he gets dragged into an abyss, feet-first, by [[NothingIsScarier who knows what.]] The rest of his loss animations show him sinking to the ground, clutching his head as if he's going insane, and another shows Isaac just floating motionless in space. Then his loss animation on the results screen shows that all that's left of him is his helmet.
5	* Hearing your favourite characters scream as they are killed by a super [[CrossesTheLineTwice is kinda funny but painful at the same time]]. Isaac's in particular sound the most horrifying.
6	* When Little Sister first meets Sackboy in Sackboy's Story Mode. "Let's unzip him and see what's inside!" shiver The rest of the cutscene, however, is a SugarWiki/{{Heartwarming Moment\|s}}, but still manages to be a tad bit creepy too.
7	* Even though Heihachi's Lvl. 3 finisher is pretty ridiculous, [=PaRappa=] and Spike's terrified faces as they are strapped to the rocket is pretty unsettling, to say the least. Made worse when one considers the fact that these two characters are much younger than most of the others.
8	** Kat's frantic struggles to yank herself off of the rocket with her gravity powers aren't the most pleasant thing to look at either.
9	** Heck, Heihachi's level 3 in general can be considered this despite how ridiculous it is. Seeing your favourite characters helplessly strapped to the rocket with no hope of escape, the ominous music in the background combined with the drone of the countdown, and the way Heihachi just throws back his head and laughs after condemning them to a terrible fate...
10	* If you listen closely to the background noise in the Dojo with the music off, you can hear some very graphic screaming (Men and Women) beside the MAWLR's blasts. Considering how lighthearted Parappa's world is, [[SugarApocalypse this can be quite chilling]]. You can also spot the machine through the window and feel its footsteps being fed through the [=DualShock=] 3 before the scene-change, meaning this has been happening all through Chop Chop Master Onion's rather fun lesson.
11	* One of Radec's loss poses is him clutching at a wound with his gun aimed at someone offscreen. Last time he took this pose, he ''killed himself.''
12	* Each character's Arcade Mode ends with them obtaining Polygon Man's power. Some of the endings are epic, cute, or funny. Others are...less than comforting.
13	** During Fat Princess's ending, her kingdom is elated to see their princess return, but are a little disappointed that she hadn't brought back any cake with her. The narrator then tells us that the princess ''did'' bring something along with her to help her rule her land, and when he says this, the princess suddenly looks at the camera with a rather unsettling smile on her face, while glowing with the power. It's a bit unnerving for a character so goofy.
14	** Evil Cole treks through a wrecked city, going on about how people are scared of Conduits like him. Then he says they ''should'' be scared, but not of the power he's wielding...
15	-->'''Evil Cole:''' The power we have isn't a plague. [[BlatantLies It's not dangerous.]] Still, it's probably smart to be a little scared. Because while the power itself isn't dangerous... [[CardCarryingVillain I am.]]
16	** Kratos takes the power and leads his army of Titans up to raid Olympus. He lets out one hell of a rant as the power flows through him. One can only hope he still has that HeelRealization at the end, because that monologue doesn't spell good things for anyone.
17	-->'''Kratos:''' Titans! The son of Zeus has returned! Our hour is at hand, and we [[RageAgainstTheHeavens march now upon the gods.]] [[BadassBoast No creature sent from earth, Olympus or Hades itself]] can withstand our assault. And to Zeus and the cretins who kneel at his feet: I bring an army unlike any you have fought before. The Ghost of Sparta [[KillTheGod brings ruin to Olympus!]]
18	** Sweet Tooth's ending takes the cake...or ice cream. Having just slaughtered who knows how many fighters and killing a God, Sweet Tooth returns to his truck, and puts the petal to the metal to Calypso, likely as revenge for getting BuriedAlive. He ends his cutscene with an EvilLaugh fresh out of Hell itself as his truck glows with Polygon Man's power. Pray for the poor people on his world, because they're as good as doomed.
19	-->'''Sweet Tooth:''' But wait'll Calypso gets a load of my new upgrades! Oh, man! [[ImpliedDeathThreat He's never gonna know what hit him!!]] Sweet Tooth is back, baby, bigger than ever! [[EvilLaugh HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!]]
20	** Big Daddy's ending qualifies. No, it's not planning to take over the world or kill everyone, but the ending ''does'' consist of the Little Sister giving [[IronicNurseryRhyme a creepy nursery rhyme]] as hauntingly sad music plays in the background. Then it ends on Mr. Bubbles [[{{Jumpscare}} jumpscaring]] the camera with a roar for good measure. [[FridgeHorror There's also the possibility]] that this Little Sister is likely one of the girls [[VideoGame/{{Bioshock}} Jack]] is going to have to either cure or harvest (Likely the former as it's canon), meaning the poor bastard is going to have to fight a [[DemonicSpiders Big Daddy]] with [[FromBadToWorse the powers of a God.]] Good luck, Jack, you'll need it.
21	** Radec has just taken down Polygon Man and returned to Helghan. Upon seeing the ISA aren't backing off, he decides to take matters into his own hands, [[ThisIsGonnaSuck new power and all.]] The ending finishes off with Radec just [[TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou glaring right at the camera]] as his new power surges through him. TheBadGuyWins and you just gave him unearthly power. The end.

23	* Big Daddy's Level 3 activation cutscene gives us a rather ominous scene of the Big Daddy's mask glowing red, the red lights the only thing visible from it due to being submerged in pitch-black water, as it lets out a menacing growl.
24	** If you use Big Daddy's Level 3 in Columbia while Dollface is in the background, there's a chance you'll see the mech's face peeking out at you from the pitch darkness before retreating back into the pitch black water.
