[[folder:#-C]]
* Mikage of ''Manga/ZeroSevenGhost''. [[spoiler:Complete with dying to motivate their hero buddy.]]
* Both Belldandy and Keiichi of ''Manga/AhMyGoddess'' are nice people, each being the TropeCodifier for YamatoNadeshiko and NiceGuy respectively. In fact, their relationship exists because Keiichi was a fundamentally good enough person to attract a goddess's attention. Keiichi isn't a doormat; he's got a snarky personality and a backbone.
* Seiichirou Kitano from ''Manga/AngelDensetsu'' is a master of this. He actually seems incapable of wanting to hurt anyone, despite how he's treated.
* ''Manga/AttackOnTitan'', set in the CrapsackWorld that it is, is not kind to its good-hearted characters.
** Marco, one of two resident {{Team Dad}}s, is genial, friendly, and always the one attempting to keep the peace and raise morale among his fellow trainees.
** Petra, who takes it upon herself to act as Eren's CoolBigSis once the Survey Corps gets hold of him. The guidebook even gives her a rating of 10/10 in Kindness, and it shows. [[spoiler:Neither she nor Marco survive.]]
** Played with in Krista. While she is genuinely a sweet-natured, good and kind person, she is also [[StepfordSmiler obsessed with making sure other people see her this way]], and is prone to putting herself in danger so she may [[MartyrWithoutACause die a meaningful or glorious death.]] This is in stark contrast to her [[spoiler: true identity, Historia Reiss, who is so [[BrokenBird broken]] by the traumatic life that she has lived that she'd given up on caring about other people after losing Ymir.]]
* Eiichirou of the manga ''Manga/BabySteps''. This is one of the reasons that Natsu trusts him with her "big secret" (of wanting to someday become a professional tennis player) on the first day they met.
-->'''Eiichirou''': Why did you let me in on your secret?\
'''Natsu''': ... because it's ''you''. I mean, I know you wouldn't tell anyone.\
'''Eiichirou''': But you can't be sure of that!\
'''Natsu:''': I'm sure.
* ''Manga/{{Bakuman}}'': They're ''everywhere''. Which is natural, considering that it's a romantic comedy about writing manga. By the same people who brought you ''Manga/DeathNote.'' The only real {{Jerk Ass}}es in the series can be brought down to two: Ishizawa, who's had all of ''four'' appearances in this manga's ''over one hundred-chapter run'', which, as of November 2012, is still going strong with it's third anime season, mind you, and one character who can't be named for spoiler reasons. It's also important to note exactly where the author choses to do this rather than creating a JerkAss character: the main editor had a lot of potential to be arrogant and dislikable, but they chose to make him a ReasonableAuthorityFigure instead; the main duo's rival, TeenGenius manga-writer Nizuma Eiji, also could have easily been an arrogant douchebag who flaunts his talent and power in the main character's faces, but he instead acknowledges their skills, thoroughly enjoys their work, often gives them helpful advice, [[spoiler: shows up with a gift basket when TheHero is hospitalized]], and wound up being voted ''the most popular character'' in a manga notable for its large cast.
* ''Manga/{{Barakamon}}'': Hiroshi is friendly and helpful, and act as a sort of big brother for the younger kids in the village. The teacher didn't punish him for dying his hair blond to look less [[RidiculouslyAverageGuy average]], because he saw how polite he was and just forgot it.
* ''Manga/BeautyAndTheFeast'': Yamato is an honest, straightforward guy who always tries his best no matter how much grief it gets him from others. It takes a lot to rile him up and he's always thankful for Yakumo's meals.
* ''Manga/{{Berserk}}'':
** There aren't a lot of nice people in this series, let alone nice guys. So you can guess why Judeau has become the resident EnsembleDarkhorse because of his nice, laid-back personality.
** Later, SixthRanger Roderick has revealed himself to be a nice guy, though not as popular as Judeau.
** Jerome from the Retribution Arc can pretty much be considered a nice guy as well, as he is far more decent than some of the other guys around him.
* ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'':
** Hanataro Yamada's gentle personality was what caused him to become embroiled, and a surprisingly useful participant, in rescuing Rukia during the Soul Society arc.
** Captain Komamura's bromantic nature is the source of least one inspirational, rallying speech every arc centred around how people really do best by being good friends and noble allies.
** Captain Ukitake possesses the in-universe reputation as being Soul Society's gentlest and most peace-loving captain.
** Hachigen Ushoda is the only character aside from Orihime who is ill-suited to fighting as a result of his gentle nature.
** Orihime Inoue, the sweet, [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} airheaded]] [[TheMedic healer]] who will even express pity over her fallen enemies. She's also one of the biggest [[TheWoobie Woobies]] of the series.
** ActionGirl Rangiku Matsumoto is a lazy, HardDrinkingPartyGirl, but she's also very friendly and acts like a CoolBigSis to a number of characters, particularly Orihime and Hinamori.
* ''Manga/BlueExorcist'' has the titular character [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Rin]] [[HalfHumanHybrid Okumura]]. Is he the [[HeroicBastard bastard]] Son of {{Satan}}? Yes. Does he have the dreaded [[HellFire Blue Flames]] of his father? Yes. Does he have [[SuperStrength increased strength]] beyond a normal human being? Yes. Does he [[RealMenWearPink cook]]? [[SupremeChef Yes]]. Despite his heritage and NoSocialSkills, [[AntiAntiChrist Rin]] is a true NiceGuy with a DarkAndTroubledPast and AllOfTheOtherReindeer backstory (with a touch of [[JapaneseDelinquents delinquency]]) who's a BullyHunter and hates those hurting the people he cares for (including his [[BigBrotherInstinct younger human twin Yukio]]) and picking on the weak. He also would make a ''fine'' HouseHusband and is frankly adorable. He also ''dislikes'' and makes a point of ''avoiding'' hurting humans as a point of him being a HunterOfHisOwnKind. BewareTheNiceOnes is strongly in effect though and pushing him to far results in one getting a fist to the face followed by a brutal beatdown for most. If not outright ''[[KillItWithFire roast you]]'' if you are a demon. And even ''then'' he's willing to TurnTheOtherCheek in certain situations. Considering Satan is referred to as the ''God'' of Gehenna, one wonders if he's on his way to becoming a MessianicArchetype...
* In the same vein, Daichi, Hana, Teppei, and Akari from above's SpiritualSuccessor ''Anime/CaptainEarth'' are also some of the nicest protagonists in mecha anime history, especially Daichi and Hana. Must be the creators...
* Tsubasa Ohzora from ''Manga/CaptainTsubasa''; when he's not on the field, that is. Taro Misaki, Gino Fernandez, Luciano Leo and Pepe are also nice guys as well.
** Even when in the field, Tsubasa is pretty nice. In fact, he's been injured more than once while ''helping'' a teammate or a rival, like when [[spoiler: he saved one of the Tachibana twins from falling head-on first to the ground (which would've almost surely killed him, or at least caused horrible damage) and [[GameBreakingInjury got a dislocated shoulder for his trouble.]]]]
* There's practically no malicious guy in ''Manga/CardcaptorSakura''. The worst of them is JerkWithAHeartOfGold and OmniscientMoralityLicense holder who knows that everything he's done will turn out alright in the end.
* Aoi of ''Manga/CastleTownDandelion'' is probably the nicest of the Sakurada siblings and the most considerate. This nature even has some more important implication, as [[spoiler:it averts the potentially harmful effects of her RoyaltySuperpower [[CompellingVoice Absolute Order]] on the society despite the fact that she has been unwittingly using it for several years.]]
* Chrono in ''Manga/ChronoCrusade'' comes across as a gentle, sweet boy that's often abused by his more HotBlooded partner. And he ''is'' a genuine NiceGuy that "doesn't want to hurt anyone". However, he has the DarkAndTroubledPast, which means that when someone threatens one of his friends (''particularly'' Rosette), [[BewareTheNiceOnes things will turn out badly]].
* ''Manga/{{Claudine}}'': The psychatrist is a true gentleman who respects Claude as the man he is.
* ''Anime/CodeGeass'':
** [[Characters/CodeGeassSuzakuKururugi Suzaku Kururugi]] starts off looking like this, but there are hints that something is up (such as his childhood best friend Lelouch musing on the fact that he used to be brash, hot-headed, and arrogant, making Lelouch wonder what could change someone so much in seven years). Later on, we learn that he's not quite as nice as he seemed in the first place, [[BrokenAce but horrifyingly broken]].
** Meanwhile, Shirley Fenette and Euphemia li Britannia are the epitome of this trope when it comes to females. Unfortunately, this just shows us [[BreaktheCutie how the writers feel]] [[KilltheCutie about Nice Gals in the cast]].
** Rivalz has shades of it, being a kindhearted slacker, and Gino Weinberg also has shades of it, as much as his duty as a Knight of Rounds allows.
** Nunnally Lamperouge. She stays cheerful and kind through experiences that would leave most people ''shattered'' [[spoiler:and is fortunate enough to survive unlike the above girls, albeit after some ''serious'' breaking.]]
* Kou from ''Manga/CrossGame'' and most Adachi protagonists show shades of this trope. You can actually ''see'' why girls would like them, as opposed to many shounen 'Nice Guys'.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:D-K]]
* ''Anime/{{Daimos}}'': Kazuya Ryuzaki is a CheerfulChild turned AcePilot, and is always ready to put down his own life if it means saving others. Many episodes show that he's a FriendToAllChildren, such as one where a blind boy begs to see Daimos in action, and is able to in his own way. Harming children is one way to trigger his BerserkButton. Kazuya's NiceGuy personality is why [[AlienPrincess Erika]] falls for him, even though he's a human.
* NiceGuy-dom is used as a cover for at least two characters in ''Anime/DarkerThanBlack'': Hei and [[spoiler:Nick]]. In both cases, it can be hard to tell how much of the act really ''is'' an act sometimes.
* L from ''Manga/DeathNote'' is an odd example. Despite his poor social skills and AntiHero status, he's fairly polite, accessible and civil. That, and [[FriendToAllChildren his soft side with children]].
* Chiyuki from ''Anime/DeathParade'' is the only recurring character who is genuinely a sweet person. She’s extremely non-judgmental despite working in a system where she’s supposed to assist in judging the dead, she’s empathetic and hopeful, and always trying to understand things from others’ point of view. She’s the only person who doesn’t mock [[TheStoic Decim]] for being dull and having strange hobbies, and eventually the only one who is able to [[DefrostingIceQueen get him to open up]].
* The Touden siblings, Laios and Falin, from ''Manga/DeliciousInDungeon''. Both are the most friendly characters in the series by a long shot, as well as being very selfless and helpful. And any ulterior motives Laios might have don't go past wanting to eat something unusual.
* Somehow in ''Anime/BabyFelixAndFriends''. Baby Felix is a sweet, kind, nice and understanding person, his gold hearted pal, Mimi, is also a kind person.
* Tanjiro from ''Manga/DemonSlayerKimetsuNoYaiba'' is characterized through his kindness and loyalty. He has an endless reserve of compassion for all but the vilest of people. And if asked for help, regardless of the task, he will work his hardest to see it through.
* Allen Walker from ''Manga/DGrayMan'' is as nice as they come (outside of a game of poker), not to mention absolutely adorable and prone to [[AllLovingHero trying to save everyone]]. He's got two or three girls in love with him, and one of them is the ''sworn enemy of his species''.
* ''Franchise/{{Digimon}}'':
** Takato Matsuki from ''Anime/DigimonTamers''. The goggle-headed protagonist, he is not as hot-blooded as his predecessors or successors and is the normal one compared to his friends who have a myriad of issues. This, of course, gets deconstructed when it's revealed what happens when [[BewareTheNiceOnes he is pushed too far.]] This also applies to his Digimon partner Guilmon.
** Also Gabumon from the first season is easily the most gentle and polite of all the Digimon partners. He even took off his fur to warm Matt when Matt had a cold.
*** Interestingly Gabumon is the only Digimon partner of ''Anime/DigimonAdventure'' to [[BewareTheNiceOnes use physical force]] to snap his partner out of a [[HeroicBlueScreenOfDeath HBSD]]. Method used? BITING!
** ''Anime/DigimonAdventure02'' has Ken Ichijouji (after he stops being the Digimon Kaiser). There's a reason he carries the Crest of ''Kindness'', after all.
** Just like Takato, Haru Shinkai from ''Anime/DigimonUniverseAppMonsters'' also shares this trope. Yet even nicer than the previous google-heads.
* Dekisugi from ''Manga/{{Doraemon}}'' is this because his character is based on a perfect archetype of a Japanese schoolboy, in contrast of [[TheHero Nobita]], who's a bit of a brat. In the [[TheMovie movies]], however, Nobita is upgraded into this trope, if not outright AllLovingHero.
** Shizuka, among the main five, is the only character who is consistently nice. She's kind, selfless and supportive and lacks the {{antihero}}ic qualities of the other main humans.
* ''Manga/DragonBall'' sports a cast of various Nice Guys and {{Dogged Nice Guy}}s among the heroes but Goku is one of the most famous in anime. So much so that nice guys of other {{Shonen}} series have been based on him and his cheerful nature. No matter how grim a situation looks, Goku is always optimistic and smiling. He even dies smiling twice! He also [[EasilyForgiven easily forgives]] any villain that tried to kill him and his friends 5 minutes ago if they are willing to to stop being evil.
** The only one who could pretty much outshine him in this department is his son Gohan, who lacks his father's Saiyan-related BloodKnight tendencies, though that doesn't mean he's a pushover: when he was a young boy he vaporized [[BigBad Cell]] with a one-handed Kamehameha while ''[[SlasherSmile grinning like a madman]]''.
** Goku's other son, Goten, is closer to Goku in personality and is no less kind-hearted. He, like Gohan, also largely lacks Goku's BloodKnight tendencies. He's also quite a bit more naive/[[IdiotHero dumber]] than Gohan is.
** Krillin started off as a BrattyHalfPint in the original ''Dragon Ball'', but eventually [[CharacterDevelopment outgrew it]], and by the time ''Anime/DragonBallZ'' rolled around he was fully this.
** Yamcha is pretty laid-back and easy to get along with. [[ButtMonkey Given how much crap he goes through]], it's pretty notable.
---> '''Yamcha:''' I'm the rumored Nice Guy! I'm Yamcha! [[note]]lyrics from Yamcha's theme song ''Wolf Hurricane''[[/note]]
** Future Trunks is also pleasant and kind-hearted, [[TraumaCongaLine which is also notable given how much crap he goes through.]] His present counter-part is, while a good person, bratty, immature and generally acts more his age.
* Akira Takizawa, the GuileHero of ''Anime/EdenOfTheEast'', is such a friendly, compassionate and charming young man that even Selecao Number 11, an infamous serial killer who [[GroinAttack castrated]] [[DoesNotLikeMen all of her male victims]], eventually developed a fondness for him.
* ''Manga/ElfenLied'':
** The male protagonist Kouta. Considering that this show is filled to the brim with [[TheWoobie Woobies]] (himself included), he ends up becoming quite an important character in the story ''because'' of this trope.
** Nana, despite her miserable life and the atrocious abuse she constantly suffers, she is always nice to everybody and, even when she gets serious, refuses to kill people.
** [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Moe Nyu]] is very sweet and innocent. [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Her]] [[SuperpoweredEvilSide other personality]] [[WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds Lucy]], [[CuteButPsycho on the]] [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Yandere other hand]].
* ''Anime/ElHazardTheMagnificentWorld'': Makoto could be a poster boy for the trope, to the point of suffering from a near terminal case of ChronicHeroSyndrome. Got a problem? This guy'll try and fix it for you. And he's such a softie, that he even felt bad about ratting out [[LaughablyEvil Jinnai]], when he found out he was bribing club members [[ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney with money from the student treasury.]]
* Kenshiro, in spite of inheriting the head-popping Martial Art known as ''Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar'' is a warm, gentle, sensitive and kind-hearted man who loves children and is [[ManlyTears not ashamed]] [[TenderTears to cry]]. That said, cruelty to the innocent is the one thing he will not abide, and he can be an ''utterly terrifying'' enemy when he is pissed.
* ''Anime/{{Free}}'': There is a lot of nice guys in this show, but Makoto is the most popular so far. He's gentle, kind, LovableCoward and TeamMom in one package. He's also universally friendly to anyone that doesn't provoke him and even if they do, he still tries to settle things as politely as he can.
* Kazuya Aoi from ''Manga/{{Freezing}}'' is the only one willing to look past Satellizer's shady background and discover that she's actually a really sweet girl, she just has some issues.
* A number of characters in ''Manga/FruitsBasket'' fit this. Tohru Honda is the most prominent, constantly putting the wellbeing of her friends and family before herself, often causing problems for herself in the process.
** Momiji is consistently cheerful and friendly despite also being a member of the zodiac and has a ''horrific'' case of ParentalAbandonment, he's still nice to everyone around him.
* ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'':
** Alphonse Elric is definitely this. Compared to his brother Edward [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold who is just as good-hearted, but has a more jaded view and is quick to anger.]]
** As long as you don't press her BerserkButton by breaking her automail, [[WrenchWench Winry Rockbell]] is overall very friendly, helpful and empathetic.
* ''Anime/FutureGPXCyberFormula'':
** Hayato Kazami is a very polite boy for most of the time, and is willing to make friends with just about anyone.
** Johji Ohtomo. In fact, it's this very trait that makes him friends with Hayato.
** Despite being a quiet person (at least in the third OVA), Phill Fritz from ''SAGA'' and ''SIN'' is actually a pretty nice guy. It's just that Nagumo doesn't want him to have any contact with anyone outside his team.
** Makoto Katagiri, if we check on minor characters. He is the most well-balanced staff member of the Aoi team.
* ''Anime/FutureRobotDaltanious'': Prince Harlin is a benevolent person, even in the darkest of situations. His kindness attracts many to befriend him. He's even kind to Kloppen (the guy that repeatedly tries to kill him due to FantasticRacism), telling him that he doesn't view him as an enemy and they can be friends.
* ''Manga/GEGoodEnding'' features Utsumi Seiji, who is a pretty much an UnluckyEverydude who is sincerely nice to all his friends. Unfortunately, it tends to bite him in the ass as he sometimes ends up grabbing the IdiotBall because he doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
* ''Manga/{{Gintama}}'': [[RobotMaid Tama]] is polite, gentle and helpful to everyone, and always listen to others problem . This is particularly notable in a series where the majority of the cast, both male and female, often engage is ComedicSociopathy.
* ''Anime/GirlsUndPanzer'':
** Miho, who's kind and polite to her subordinates, the family servants, and many other people she's just met, even when said people are rude, hostile or threatening to her. In fact, the one time she gets angry with someone (her friend Emi, for saying that she hated Miho's sister Maho despite never having spoken to her), is treated as an OOCIsSeriousBusiness moment.
** [[WalkingSpoiler Koume Akeboshi]], Miho's former teammate, [[spoiler:whom she saved from drowning in the last tournament. She's grateful to Miho and worries about Miho after her departure from Black Forest, as Koume blames herself for causing Miho problems, rather than ostracizing her for sacrificing what might have been a tournament victory]].
* ''Manga/GTOTheEarlyYears'': Tsuyoshi Tsukai is a nice guy in comparison to the other main characters, though like them he's a [[JapaneseDelinquents delinquent]] who gets into gang fights (because he always has his friends' backs). The main thing that sets him apart is his attitude towards women: He has a crush on Itou, but [[IJustWantMyBelovedToBeHappy supports her trying to get Onizuka to notice her]], even challenging [[BloodKnight Onizuka]] to a fight for hurting her feelings. Onizuka and their friends realize that Tsukai likes her, and make sure she sees him standing up for her. After they get together, they're one of the most stable couples in the series, and are mentioned to be married in the sequel.
* The ''Franchise/{{Gundam}}'' franchise has several:
** Cagalli uses this trope to describe Kira: "He never thought things through and he always cried, but he was kind. He was a nice guy!"
*** Heine Westenfluss in ''[[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSeedDestiny Gundam SEED Destiny]]''. For the time we briefly knew him, he came off as kind and sympathetic. Making his fate all the more tragic.
* Sho Fukamachi in all three versions of ''Manga/{{Guyver}}'' -- ''Guyver:Out of Control (1986),'' ''Guyver:Bio-Booster Armor (1989),'' and ''Guyver: The Bio Booster Armor (2005).''
* ''Manga/HayateTheCombatButler'':
** Ayumu Nishizawa is clearly a nice gal, paired with the fact that she's a normal person in a world where most of the rest of the cast are {{Ojou}}s really makes Hata have to work to keep her relevant, and he does.
** Hayate himself is a nice guy in general, despite being a ButtMonkey. Isumi is this as well.
* Seras Victoria from ''Manga/{{Hellsing}}'' is impossibly sweet-natured and adorable. Piss her off though (or hurt Pip) and she'll [[BadassAdorable grind your face into a paste]].
* ''Manga/HitomiChanIsShyWithStrangers'': Hitomi and Yuu are both nice people. Although she [[FaceOfAThug looks scary and intimidating]], Hitomi's a genuine sweetheart who tries to be nice to everyone around her. Yuu doesn't hesitate to put himself in harm's way to help Hitomi.
* ''Manga/HunterXHunter'':
** The protagonist, Gon, is this, though with some BlueAndOrangeMorality mixed in due to his growing up largely outside of normal human society. He can't stand seeing innocent people get hurt, he believes every evil person is capable of being redeemed, and he will fight only when he has no other option. His kind, cheerful nature stands out in a world of BlackAndGrayMorality and, more than once, Gon has helped prevented someone he knows from JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope into evil just by being nearby.
** Leorio, despite his initial JerkassFacade, is a very kind and selfless young man, and the only one who can't be considered as an AntiHero among the main characters. He pretended he only cares about money, but it was all a joke: he wanted to become rich to open a hospital, as he's studying to become a doctor.
** Goreinu is a player found in the lethal video game '"Greed Island''. Where other players are constantly trying to sabotage each other, steal from each other, or outright kill each other, Goreinu minds his own business while being savvy enough to avoid anything bad happening to him (though it helps that he has the power to [[TeleportSpam teleport himself or his enemies away]]). Unlike most of the characters outside of Gon, Goreinu has no ulterior motives, no DarkAndTroubledPast, no selfish desires, and no intent for any unnecessary harm to other people. The worst he's ever depicted is his reluctance to heal the injuries of a serial killer who almost killed him, and even then Goreinu ultimately heals him.
* ''Manga/ImaizuminChiWaDouyaraGalNoTamaribaNiNatteruRashiiDeep'': Imaizumi tries to be a gentleman to everyone, sometimes to his own detriment, which deep down he doesn't think is cute. The girls think he's too much of an "M-type" and try to teach him to be more assertive.
* Poor Hojo from ''Manga/InuYasha''. He is so nice that no one has the heart to tell him that is not [[BelligerentSexualTension how things work]] in [[Creator/RumikoTakahashi that universe]].
* ''Manga/KaguyaSamaLoveIsWar'':
** While he does have a massive ego, and despite his overwhelming pride, Shirogane is fundamentally a very kind person, so much so that the very act of being cold to others causes him physical pain. He's a selfless guy who is kind and helpful to everyone he meets.
** Shirogane's unnamed predecessor as president is also shown to be a pretty amiable guy, as he was the first person in the school to reach out to Shirogane. He's also the one who established the practice of allowing normal students to come into the student council room to ask for help about their problems.
** This applies to the entire cheer team, given how quickly they accept Ishigami as one of their own despite the rumors surrounding him and [[TheEeyore how out of place he is]] among them. Special mention goes to Tsubame, since [[spoiler:reaching out to troubled underclassmen is something of a habit for her.]]
** The fact is that they very probably understand Ishigami really is a NiceGuy. He's a CreepyGood pariah and otaku, who earned his bad reputation by beating the crap out of a boy who mistreated his girlfriend. Despite his tendency to isolate himself and be apathetic towards schoolwork, he's a genuinely kind and good-hearted guy.
* Kaguya herself, especially after her DefrostingIceQueen CharacterDevelopment, is shown to be a very kind girl at heart, and is consistently selfless and supportive, despite - much like Shirogane - having quite the big ego. That's a contrast with her more cheerful and playful friend Chika who is instead a little selfish.
* Nanami Momozono from ''Manga/KamisamaKiss'' is the nicest, friendliest person in the entire series and is incredibly optimistic even when things look to be at their worst.
* A common trope in Creator/KeyVisualArts works (especially when Jun Maeda is involved):
** ''Anime/AngelBeats'':
*** [[spoiler:Yuzuru]] Otonashi is a guy who is willing to help others in need, hence the reason why he wishes to become a doctor. [[spoiler:He is even willing to sacrifice his life in the train wreck and make himself an organ donor so that his remains can one day save someone else's life]]
** ''Anime/{{Charlotte}}'':
*** Yusa Nishimori is a cheerful, kind, innocent, and friendly girl at heart. So much so that her kind and charming personality is one of the reasons why she is popular among her classmates (as well as being a famous IdolSinger). Her older sister who controls her body, however, [[{{Tsundere}} is]] [[HairTriggerTemper the]] [[SirSwearsALot opposite]].
*** Ayumi Otosaka is a kind and friendly LittleSisterHeroine who is always supportive of her older brother, Yuu Otosaka. [[spoiler:Her death and her kind, caring heart serves as a catalyst for Yuu [[CharacterDevelopment to become]] [[TookALevelInKindness a better person]]]].
*** In the OVA, Iori Sekiguchi is a kind, cheerful, and friendly girl at heart that doesn't want to see people fighting.
* Shouta Kazehaya from ''Manga/KimiNiTodoke'' is probably the most triumphant example in Shoujo manga, due to an anomaly that not only [[LoveInterest is he the object of Sawako's affection]], but he's also a ChickMagnet. He's [[MemeticMutation made of 100% fresh, squeezed fruit of friendship]], yet far from being a MartyStu. Probably his only ulterior motive for speaking to Sawako Kuronuma and befriending her is his desire to get to know her better. [[SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan Girls in this manga and anime prefer nice guys in general]], [[{{Reconstruction}} which makes them outstandingly different from]] Shoujo romances, which most of the time the female leads goes for the TroubledButCute and FetishizedAbuser types.
** Male leads who good are looking, popular, and nice guys are as common in Shoujo as their female counterparts are in Shonen; wish-fulfillment is large part of fiction after all.
** Sawako is so much of a NiceGirl. She hay have the FaceOfAThug, look creepy and be a loner, but she's also IncorruptiblePurePureness personified, without a mean bone in her body, selfless, kind, and still an ALlLovingHeroine despite the way they treat her. Really, she always tries to see the best in people.
* ''Manga/KiniroMosaic'' have lot of notable examples for a SliceOfLife SchoolgirlSeries:
** [[GenkiGirl Karen]] is a ''very'' energetic and friendly half-British, half-Japanese girl and can get along with her fellow classmates to the point that they give her free snacks.
** [[TokenMiniMoe Alice]] is such a kindhearted sweetheart loli. She rarely hold any negative grudges and feelings towards anyone. In episode 7, Alice even help improve and teach Shinobu some English language skills (which Shinobu will later get a good grade in the following English test) and even help cheer Shinobu up when Alice finds out that Shinobu didn't do that well on her math test.
*** Shinobu herself is a relatively friendly girl despite being the resident [[TheDitz ditz]] (particularly when both Alice and Shinobu first met in episode 1)
* The title character of ''Manga/KomorisanCantDecline'', Shuri Komori, is this trope taken to an extreme level. Heck, she's so kind that she cannot say no to a favor no matter how ridiculous it is.
** This trope is lampshaded on Youko in Karen's pie chart as "50% comedic retorts, 50% kind-hearted."
* Hirasawa Yui, TheProtagonist of ''Manga/KOn'' is the idealistic, innocent and warm heart that holds the "Afterschool Teatime" band together.
** The other members and recurring characters count as well (although Ritsu is kind of a mischievous JerkWithAHeartOfGold and Azusa is serious and can be slightly standoffish). Mugi is the sweet TeamMom who is quieter than Yui, but still very kind and friendly and wants to make her friends happy, especially with tea and cake (and whatever she may buy them, wealthy as she is). Mio may be a Shrinking Violet, but as absurdly shy as she is, she has a genuinely kind and warm heart, and wants to be there for her friends in the best way she can, and is always ready to help them studying. Nodoka has always been an excellent childhood friend to Yui, as she is also incredibly kind, helpful and patient, and despite her reserved nature she suddenly befriends Yui's new friends, especially Mio when they are put together in the same class. Yui's sister Ui... What about her? She's a perfect YamatoNadeshiko and a supportive and mature younger sister who takes the role of the older one.

[[folder:L-R]]
* ''Manga/{{Lady}}'':
** Lynn is a cute and adorable child who cares for everyone, even complete strangers, and her presence warms the heart of everyone who meets her.
** Edward and Arthur Brighton. While it's not apparent because of their exteriors (Edward acts boyish and boisterous, while Arthur feels like he has a facade to keep up because of his family name), both are friendly and kind people underneath and like spending time with Lynn.
* Madoka from ''Anime/LagrangeTheFlowerOfRinne'' pilots a mecha because her friend she just made, asked her to.
* We have Nao from the ''Manga/LiarGame'', perhaps the most pure and honest character in the whole series. In fact, her reason for continuing with the game is to [[AllLovingHero save]] everyone else in the game, including the ones who had deceived and [[EvilGloating gloated]] cruelly in her face.
* The majority of the characters in ''Anime/ALittleSnowFairySugar'' are all nice people, with even the worst people [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold having hidden soft sides underneath]].
* Explain how Tsukasa Hiiragi from ''Manga/LuckyStar'' has "Good Person" as her highest stat. She may not be the smartest, but she's definitely innocent and kind, while her sister Kagami is more or a JerkWithAHeartOfGold (still a good person at heart, but more egotistical and brash, and a DeadpanSnarker who often gets angry at {{cloudcuckoolander}}s such as her sister and her best friend Konata.
** And then, there must be one who is perfection personified and is immensely kindhearted but also a genius, right? There's Miyuki, who is an adorable ball of sweetness and excels at everything. Her only flaw is that she's clumsy.
* ''Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanoha'':
** [[AdorablyPrecociousChild Yuuno Scrya]]. Being a BarrierWarrior (high tier is an understatement) with a bit of HealingHands carried the [[WaveMotionGun Inverted-for-titular-heroine]] PersonalityPowers up to eleven.
** [[Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaAs Hayate]] takes this up to eleven. Just got four eternally loyal slaves? Treat them as family. Offered the chance to heal your paralyzed legs? Refuse it because innocent people would get hurt. [[TheOathbreaker Family does the one thing you told them not to do]]? Forgive them because they were trying to save you. [[PersonOfMassDestruction Become the most powerful person in the multiverse]]? Join TheFederation to make sure that no one suffers the way you did.
** [[Anime/VividStrike Roy Berlinetta]] was one of these [[PosthumousCharacter when he was alive]]. The very fist thing he was shown doing was buying hot treats for a group of orphans who were shoveling snow. And he doted on his adopted granddaughter Rinne (one of the aforementioned orphans).
* ''Manga/MaisonIkkoku'' features Yusaku Godai, an honest example of this type of character. The series does not shy away from the flaws in these types of people -- mediocrity/lack of ambition (or killer instinct), spinelessness (unwilling to hurt others' feelings), and being really indecisive. He also isn't entirely perfect, but he puts up with a lot of crap from others. And yet, his innate kindness and decency, along with his willingness to grow, more than compensate in the long run.
* ''Manga/MakenKi'': In addition t being a KindheartedCatLover, Inaho is so compassionate, that when Takeru turned her down at the end of chapter 59, she accepted and asked Haruko to be good to him. But when Haruko fell into depression out of guilt, Inaho decided [[LoveTriangle they should compete for him]], to cheer her up -- despite knowing she had no chance of winning.
* ''Manga/MasterKeaton'': Taichii Hiraga Keaton is an all around nice guy who happens to be a former sergeant in the British Army and a veteran of the Falkland Wars. Now he's an adjunct archaeology professor who also works as an investigator for Lloyds of London. Keaton is free from all of the arrogance and eccentricities that are normally associated with very smart people. Frankly, Keaton tends to meet all sorts of eccentrics in his line of work. Although he can kick ass if he wanted to, he prefers to use his intellect. So he's also a pacifist.
* ''Manga/MariaNoDanzai'': Kiritaka Nagare is a good kid who put others before himself and shows his appreciation to his mother for her love.
* Nossori, Morimori and Sewashi from ''Anime/MazingerZ'', the three professors worked in the Photon Atomic Energy Research Institute by assisting Prof. Yumi and designing upgrades for Mazinger-Z and Aphrodite A were genuinely nice: they were kind, good-natured and very patient (you have to be to deal with so many hot-headed, impatient teenagers), even if they were somewhat goofy.
* ''Anime/MischievousTwinsTheTalesOfStClares'':
** Isabel. She's down to earth and has a lot of empathy for others. She disagrees with Pat's aggressive behaviour at times and is the more well-liked of the twins.
** Catherine. She's a calm, gentle girl who wants to become a veterinarian. She's the one who teaches Isabel how to clean shoes and make tea for the older students without judgment.
* ''Manga/MissKobayashisDragonMaid'':
** Kobayashi is one of the nicest, even-minded and friendliest people you'll find in an anime... when she's sober; when she's not, her voice goes a couple of decibels up and she gets aggressively talkative and pushy about maids in particular.
** Lucoa is a mountain of sage wisdom and kindness, [[CoolBigSis being a reliable being to anyone she comes across]]. Her only real flaws are acting like a ComedicShotacon towards Shouta and being a ShamelessFanserviceGirl, but even those are implied to be misinterpreted culture blindness rather than genuine depravity.
** Makota Takiya is a mostly average, decent fellow. He even befriended an AxCrazy, greedy dragon and let him be his roommate.
* Tenma in ''Manga/{{Monster}}'' couldn't be nicer, unless you happened to have dumped him for politico-economic reasons. [[spoiler:And, even then, he'll still risk his life to save yours. Even after all the [[StalkerWithACrush stalking]].]]
* One of the only genuinely nice people in ''Manga/MoriartyThePatriot'', John Watson believes in Sherlock's good nature even when he's threatening to kill someone in cold blood, and even comments that ''Professor Moriarty'' seemed like a good person when they met briefly--''after'' finding out he was the Lord of Crime. No wonder he serves a [[TheConscience Sherlock's moral compass]].
* Nagasumi of ''Manga/MyBrideIsAMermaid'' is surprisingly well-adjusted and nice, considering that [[TheChewToy the universe screws around with him]] on a regular basis.
* Along with Mai's brother Takumi, Kazuya Kurauchi is one of the genuinely nicer members of ''Anime/MyHime''[='s=] male cast, shown as a diligent worker and concerned with his girlfriend Akane's safety. He doesn't get much screen time, though, as [[spoiler:he's the [[SacrificialLamb first one to get killed]].]]
* Asahi Kuromine from ''Manga/MyMonsterSecret'' is the nicest, most accepting guy in the world; he'll treat you with the same kindness whether you're a former [[JapaneseDelinquents Delinquent]], a FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire, a {{Lilliputian|s}} alien in a MobileSuitHuman, whatever. And even though [[CannotTellALie he can't tell a lie to save his life]], if you [[SecretKeeper entrust him with a secret]] he ''will'' move Heaven and Earth to protect it. In a more serious story, he'd become a full-on MessianicArchetype; here he still gets close, [[spoiler:since he decides to become a teacher and look after non-human students in order to ensure that they and regular humans can peacefully co-exist.]] However, his niceness can actually be a problem since he has a tendency to put others' needs before his own and will run himself ragged trying to help them out, something that his LoveInterest Youko Shiragami has repeatedly asked him to stop doing.
* Yokoi Rumi from ''Manga/MyNeighborSeki'' is a textbook example. Humans, animal, toys and shogi pieces will all get a piece of her giant kindness.
* Jean Roque Raltique, from ''Anime/NadiaTheSecretOfBlueWater'', aside from being a nerd when it comes to technology and somewhat naive about social etiquette]], is arguably the nicest character in the show. He's sweet, loyal, devoted, and willing to forgive others instantly. (The Grandis gang when they help him save Nadia, and the latter for her often misdirected occasional outbursts of rage at him.) Even so, Jean does go through a brief period of grief [[spoiler:when he witnesses a friend of his die because of the technology he admires and later, learns about his dad's death]]. In one episode he also nearly strains his friendship with Hanson by trying to build a gyrocopter by himself (to impress Nadia), but soon acknowledges he can't do it alone. He also is quite brave; he puts his life in danger just to help the person he loves. And don't you dare try to hurt his friends in front of him.
* Natsume from ''Manga/NatsumesBookOfFriends'', who manages to pull this off despite having NoSocialSkills. It helps that he's also the protagonist.
* The first ending to ''Manga/NurseAngelRirikaSOS'' outright states that Ririka is sweet. She has her rough traits and [[GoodIsNotSoft her enemies]] but she's overall nice. She is the Nurse Angel after all, and is the only one who can save the planet. [[spoiler:She even undergoes a HeroicSacrifice, though she apparently somehow lives.]]
-->''Ririka is a kind girl.''\
''She's a girl who's loved by everyone.''\
''And when you're in a pinch, somehow she'll be there to give you a hand.''
* Tamaki in ''Manga/OuranHighSchoolHostClub''. His vices mostly come down to being an idiot, and a bit of a DramaQueen, but his all around niceness is the entire reason the club exists in the first place. He's the first person the twins met who actually cared which one was which, he calmly and quietly helped Haruhi when she was being bullied, and when he gave that bully what was coming to her, he still did so with politeness and grace. He's the top earner in the club, and as time goes on it becomes quite clear that it's because he's the only one there who is ''not'' acting to some degree or other and is in fact completely sincere. And that's not even going into how he deals with his BigScrewedUpFamily.
* ''Anime/PhantomQuestCorp'': Bosco is literally Tokyo's FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire.
** Not only is he trying to kick the habit, he runs a teashop that specifically caters to late teen-20 something female clientele; which is implied to be how he met [[NatureAdoresAVirgin Makiko.]] When [[TheProtagonist Ayaka]] first sees him, she assumes he was behind the recent rash of vampire attacks, but it turned out Bosco was following Makiko at night to protect her from another vampire, who had recently reincarnated. Bosco and Makiko become an OfficialCouple by the end of the episode, [[RescueRomance after he helped save her.]]
** [[OccultDetective Karino]] is an example, himself, as he often goes out of his way to prove [[LoveInterest to Ayaka]] that she can depend on him. Such as commissioning his extra assignments to Phantom Quest, as a personal favor to her, and by tailing suspects to help with their investigations, even though he's a bit of a screw up. Ayaka is flattered by the attention and she reciprocates... [[PlayingHardToGet but she doesn't make it easy for him.]]
%%* Itsuki Tachibana from ''Anime/PhantasyStarOnline2''.
* [[GentleGiant Choutarou Ohtori]] is the nice guy of Hyoutei in ''Manga/ThePrinceOfTennis'', and {{Foil}} of his [[SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan caustic doubles partner Shishido]]. Also, Shuichirou Oishi.
* Almost everyone from ''Anime/PrincessComet'', but the cake goes to [[TheHero Comet]] and [[TeenIdol Shun Imagawa]].
* Akira Sakamoto of ''Manga/PrincessPrincess'' is such a Nice Guy that his excess niceness leaks out and forms an aura of soothing and healing vibes that refreshes everyone who comes into contact with him.
* Madoka of ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'' really wants to help people and make them happy. But this being ''[[{{Deconstruction}} Madoka Magica]]'', things doesn't work out well. [[spoiler:Eventually, she became a MessianicArchetype by [[AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence sacrificing herself]], to help other magical girls to get out of their grief.]]
* Randel Oland from ''Manga/PumpkinScissors'' has this in spades, in addition to being a KindheartedCatLover and a GentleGiant. [[BewaretheNiceOnes Just don't piss him off]]. [[ImplacableMan Seriously]].
* ''Manga/QueenMillennia'': Hajime can't help but worry when others around him are injured, even if it's someone he's said to detest.
* [[{{Miko}} Tomoe]] from ''Anime/QueensBlade'' is very [[YamatoNadeshiko sweet, calm, polite, traditionally feminine/lady-like in the Japanese sense]] and is easily a candidate for one of the nicest girls (if not ''the'' nicest girl) in the series. [[BewareTheNiceOnes She's also one of the strongest characters in the series though, so pushing her too far wouldn't be a good idea.]]
* Ayato from ''Anime/RahXephon'' is polite, friendly, easygoing and a decent human being. Amazingly, despite being the protagonist, he still manages to be a fascinating character.
* Mari Sakurano from ''Anime/{{Raideen}}''. She's a friendly girl who encourages people around her to be kind to each other, and upon hearing that her friend Akira has a MissingMom, she declares that she is going to be a ParentalSubstitute to him (in spite of being the same age). Mari also happens to be a case of BewareTheNiceOnes, as Akira got thumped one too many times for playing pranks on her by taking advantage of her innocent nature.
* ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf'': Though freakishly strong with a temper to match, Ryoga Hibiki really isn't a jerk by any means once anyone gets to know him. It turns out he's such a softie that he's repeatedly stuck his neck out for Ranma, even if it means helping the girl he loves [[IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy stay together with his sworn enemy.]]
** Genji Heita (an anime-exclusive episodic character) also falls into this trope, as he is a bright and kind young man who quickly endears himself to the Tendo family.
* Takeshi Yamamoto from ''Manga/Reborn2004'' is the friendliest of Tsuna's guardians. Until you hand him a baseball bat... or a sword... or hurt his friends... [[BewareTheNiceOnes then prepared to be sliced to pieces]].
* Max Sterling/Max Jenius of ''Anime/{{Robotech}}''/''Anime/{{Macross}}'' is an unusual example of a definite NiceGuy who is also TheAce. And he's not the main character either (He does, however, get HappilyMarried half-way through ''Anime/SuperDimensionFortressMacross'', which ''SDF''[='s=] actual main character doesn't even accomplish before the series ends).
[[/folder]]

[[folder:S-Z]]
* ''Manga/{{Saki}}'':
** Mihoko of Kazekoshi does all the chores for the mahjong club even though she, as a third-year and captain of the team, is exempt from them by virtue of seniority. When their [[DrillSergeantNasty coach]] threatens to punish players for minor mistakes that don't cost them the game, Mihoko stands up for them. She's also quite close to her teammate and friend Kana, the only one she [[FirstNameBasis addresses by her first name]], helping her look after her sisters when their parents are away. Mihoko does all this so that the others can enjoy mahjong more, and while this helps low-ranking players like Bundou push themselves to improve, it also causes the others to worry about Mihoko, which is not what she wants.
** Kinue of Himematsu is this [[SiblingYinYang compared to her older sister Hiroe]], who is a JerkWithAHeartOfGold.
** Toyone of Miyamori, [[MisunderstoodLonerWithAHeartOfGold although her extreme height makes her look somewhat imposing]].
* ''Anime/ScienceNinjaTeamGatchaman'': [[TheBigGuy Ryu "The Owl" Nakanishi]] is by far the nicest and most considerate member of the group.
* Elaine from ''Manga/TheSevenDeadlySins'', in fact her kind-hearted personality is one of the reasons why [[AntiHero Ban]] [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe softens up]].
* ''Literature/ShakuganNoShana'': While Yuji is a NiceGuy in all of his media incarnations, the anime tends to gloss over or even omit his ruthless streak (such as trying to kill Shana's mother figure Wilhelmina in retaliation for almost killing him), which is much more prevalent in the light novels and anime. [[spoiler: This has the unfortunate side effect of making Yuji's [[FaceHeelTurn Face-Well-Intentioned Extremist Turn]] particularly jarring, rather than the natural evolution of his character.]]
* Asakura Yoh of ''Manga/ShamanKing'' takes this up to eleven. He's out to save every soul that's ever existed, past, present, or future by becoming the [[ToBeAMaster Shaman King.]]
* Yugo Hachiken from ''Manga/SilverSpoon'' is one of these, willing to do anything for his new found friends at the Yezo Agricultural School, and is also rather friendly. His classmates are perfectly willing to use him for menial labor for this reason.
* ''Manga/SixHalf'' has Akio Kikukawa. He is just nice and an absolute sweetheart. He always puts his family ahead of himself, is willing and ready to listen to them at any point of the day or night and encourages them to do things they want. Though there are implications that he can be [[BewareTheNiceOnes not nice]] and his overall helpful personality to be part of a StepfordSmiler routine.
* Akira Sendoh from ''Manga/SlamDunk''. He's the ideal sportsman, very polite and friendly toward opponents, and is always relaxed. Doubles as a HeroAntagonist.
-->'''Sakuragi, just before the match''': So, you're this Sendo guy, are you? I'm Sakuragi the Genius, and I will utterly destroy you.
-->'''Sendoh, smiling and shaking hands with him''': Pleasure to meet you.
* While she has her moments of temper from time to time, Maka Albarn from ''Manga/SoulEater'' definitely qualifies. She'll generally be caring, compassionate, and kind in almost all situations (the only rare exception being when Soul or Black Star is really frustrating her).
* Takuto, the main character of ''Anime/StarDriver'', is probably one of the nicest protagonists of any mecha anime ever. Friendly, helpful, respects anyone, up and including his enemies (except his ArchnemesisDad), and always finds something nice to say about someone. It shortly becomes a problem for him in the beginning of the second half of the story, though, when the Kiraboshi members manage to directly enter their Cybodies and Takuto has to find a way of destroying these mechas without actually harming their drivers.
* ''Anime/{{Tamagotchi}}'':
** The main character, Mametchi is this, he is very nice to everyone and cares about others.
** Memetchi is also very nice and sweet, though [[GoodIsNotNice this isn’t always the case]].
** Although he is less intelligent than his friends, Kuchipatchi is pretty kind to everyone.
** Lovelin is even more sweet than Memetchi, and despite being shy, she is very kind.
* ''Anime/TenchiMuyo'': Tenchi is consistently portrayed as amiable in each iteration of the franchise, which is often seen in how he accommodates Ryoko and the others, as each of them comes to live with his family. As well as the lengths he'll go to in order to protect them, [[WorldOfActionGirls though they hardly need defending.]] In fact, it's [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe the main aspect]] [[SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan of his character that appeals to them.]]
* Aizawa Tomo from ''Manga/TomoChanIsAGirl'' is an [[SpiritedCompetitor overcompetitive]] [[FieryRedhead hothead]] with limited interpersonal skills and honestly SkewedPriorities[[note]](she got thrown out of the ladies' martial arts club at school largely because her difficulty holding back to the point of being disrespectful to her opponents left at least a couple traumatized instead)[[/note]] who is often at a loss as to how to deal with problems she cannot pound into submission. She is also generous to a fault, extraordinarily forgiving, helpful, kind, honest, loyal unto death, and artlessly oblivious about it all.
* Komatsu from ''Manga/{{Toriko}}'' is a nice and gentle chef who almost never fights, even though his kitchen knife can [[AbsurdlySharpBlade split mountains]]. In fact, after he heard about the [[spoiler:Neo]] demon, which can [[VillainousGlutton eat all living things on a giant planet within a month]] and tends to torture his victims, because [[EmotionEater he likes the taste of fear and despair]], he immediately thought that he just hasn't eaten something that can satisfy him and found that something can fill his stomach and make him happy.
* Inaba from ''Manga/UruseiYatsura''. Tsubame could be count too.
* [[IdolSinger Eriko Hara]] from ''Anime/VenusProjectClimax''. She gets along real well with pretty much everyone, she lives in an orphanage and befriends many of the kids living there, and in a flashback, she also shows remorse for [[TheRival Ruka Sovagasky]] when she loses in Eriko's debut match. She also has a sense of honor, when she shakes hands with her defeated opponent after the first round of the Formula Venus tournament in the second episode of the anime.
* Akane from ''Anime/VividredOperation'' is a friendly and optimistic girl, willing to provide help to anyone who requires it.
* ''Anime/VoltesV'': In early episodes, Kenichi was your typical HotBlooded mecha anime protagonist, and was frequently mean (under the guise of being strict) to his little brother Hiyoshi. Come CharacterDevelopment and he's taken a level in kindness, being an AllLovingHero who's ready to show empathy to everyone, even the villains.
* The wolf-man from ''Anime/WolfChildren'' is shown to be a kind and lighthearted guy despite being a loner.
* ''Manga/YugamiKunNiWaTomodachiGaInai'': The two important characters:
** CharacterNarrator Chihiro Watanuki is a female example, with IJustWantToHaveFriends as a motivation. While everyone ignores her classmate Yuuji Yugami, who sits next to her, because they find him a pain to deal with, Chihiro talks to him frequently despite his BrutalHonesty. Even when he offends her, Chihiro never holds a grudge and always thanks Yugami properly whenever he (sometimes unwittingly) helps her.
** On the other hand, the protagonist Yugami ''appears'' to be this when we first meet him, helping [[NewTransferStudent Chihiro]] find an empty slot for her bike in the school's bike lot. Unfortunately subverted for Chihiro when she meets Yugami again in class, as he is [[IWorkAlone completely]] [[LeaveMeAlone different]] from the NiceGuy she thought she'd met just moments ago.
* ''Anime/ZombieLandSaga'': [[Characters/ZombieLandSagaSakuraMinamoto Sakura Minamoto,]] besides being the emotional anchor of the group -- and despite having grown slightly world-weary over her situation -- is also the most openly kind-hearted member of the group, often trying her best to be nice to everyone and play peacemaker whenever tension simmers between them (such as [[Characters/ZombieLandSagaFranchouchou to Ai and Junko]]).
