Formed in 1997 and releasing their first home recorded EP in the same year, New Found Glory is a major name in the PopPunk genre. They are noted for their extremely fast and energetic tempo. However, with their more recent albums, they have developed a much more rounded rock sound. The bands consists of Jordan Pundik (Lead Vocalist), Chad Gilbert (Lead Guitarist), Ian Grushka (Bassist), and Cyrus Bolooki (Drummer), with Steve Klein (Rhythm Guitarist/Lyricist), being a member from 1997 until 2013.

!! Tropes That Apply to New Found Glory

* ChristmasSongs:

* EmptyChairMemorial: Referenced in "Sonny":
--> An empty chair at all the tables,\
but I'll be seeing you when all my days boil down
* GriefSong: "Sonny" and "When I Die."
* HarshVocals: Whenever Chad gets a chance to sing a line or two, such as on "Singled Out".
* LetsDuet: The cover of "Stay (I Missed You) is a duet between Pundik and Lisa Loeb, who sang the original song.
* LighterAndSofter:
** "Ending In Tragedy" and "I Don't Wanna Know" are much more mellow than the rest of Catalyst, which is largely rather fast paced and aggressive. The bonus track "Whiskey Rose" from the Japanese release of the album is a rather cute acoustic number.
** The overall tone of Coming Home is more upbeat and mellow than the rest of their catalogue.
* LongRunnerLineup: Type 1. It was the same five guys from 1997 to 2013, when they suddenly announced that they parted ways with Steve for personal reasons. See Unperson below.
* LyricalDissonance: "Sonny" is very upbeat for a song about death.
* MeaningfulName: Resurrection is their first album without guitarist Steve Klein. It was positively received and showed that the band was capable of continuing despite the loss of their core lyricist.
* NewSoundAlbum: Coming Home is much LighterAndSofter in comparison to Catalyst with more use of acoustic melodies, piano, and female backing vocals. Radiosurgery Subsequent releases would go back to their hardcore and pop-punk roots.
* PerishingAltRockVoice: In the early days of the band, Jordan's voice tended to fall on the wailing end of the scale. His singing voice has gotten deeper since Coming Home.
* PowerBallad: Their singles "I Don't Wanna Know" and "It's Not Your Fault".
* RecordProducer: Steve and Chad are of the DIY [=/=] Artist as Producer flavors, having done production work on the band's songs and albums, and served as record producers for other bands in the genre.
* ShoutOut:
** The "Head On Collision" video has the band's nickelodeon show as being presented by Creator/Troma Studios.
** "Greatest of All Time" makes reference to the '96 Chicago Bulls and their "Big 3" of UsefulNotes/MichaelJordan, Dennis Rodman and Scottie Pippen.
* SillyLoveSongs: The other half of their songs, and it's most prevalent on Coming Home.
* StalkerWithACrush: The "Dressed to Kill" video is about a young man stalking his neighbor across the street not knowing that she's been doing the same to him. They're mutually stalking each other.
* SurrealMusicVideo:
** "All Downhill From Here" features the band in a universe full of strange creatures, playing on a stage that rises higher and higher before spectacularly plummeting downwards.
** "Failure's Not Flattering" in which the band are shrunken to midget form and get up to all sorts of capers, including Jordan switching heads with a fly.
** "Head On Collision" had the band as a nickelodeon attraction with various things happening to the band as they play, such as Jordan's head swelling, Chad getting his head flattened, and Cyrus losing body parts.
* TheTheTitleConfusion: The reason they officially changed their name from A New Found Glory to just New Found Glory was that record stores weren't sure whether to file their [=CDs=] under A or N.
* ThreeChordsAndTheTruth
* TitleTrack: Coming Home and Radiosurgery.
* Unperson: Steven Klein's departure from the band. They've since declined to talk about him, especially for legal reasons, since he was arrested and indicted for soliciting underage sex over the internet.
* VocalTagTeam: On some of their hardcore-influenced songs, Jordan does the singing while Chad does the screaming.
