In the spring of Kyoko's first year in high school Eiko, a girl like a sister to her and her cousin, returns with her younger brother, Jiro. The return isn't that big of a deal, but Jiro (self proclaimed super mad scientist) has it in his head that he wants to operate on Kyoko! And, what's even more, the two of them are actually high ranking members of an Evil organization at the run from the heroes of justice...kinda.

This is a SliceOfLife Shonen action comedy written by Shun Fujiki that mostly follows the actions of Jiro who is in the company of Muggles civilians for the first time in his life. Kyoko more or less finds herself holding his leash and falling in love with him, Tsundere not that she would admit it.

Short List of Characters:

* Jiro Akuno: A MadScientist who is generally well meaning, just hopeless in the normal world.
* Kyoko Watari: OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent who's life gets a lot more, interesting, when Jiro and Eiko move in.
* Eiko Akuno: Jiro's older sister. She is BigEater who is normally SuperDeformed.
* Kyoko's friends:
** Yukiji "Yuki" Shinonome who does most things ForTheLulz
** Akiho "Aki" Nakatsugawa another normal girl who excels in track.
* The Watari Fanclub: these become Kyoko's and Jiro's male friends.
** The President Ryuugi Akagi is very serious which is why he is also the student council president. He and Aki Nakatsugawa have a little bit of ship tease going on.
** Shinpei Aoki is very muscular and poses randomly all the time. He has the least screen time out of the group, and we don't really know all that much about him.
** Yoshihito Kimura loves to get stepped on (IE Sadomasochist), is the biggest pervert, strips, and is the fattest.
** Yasuhiko Midoritani is the most normal of the group and has a crush on Yuki Shinonome. He gets the most attention in the series out of the fanclub members.

!!Tropes in Hajimete No Aku

%%* AccidentalPervert: Jiro and Kyoko on ocassion.
%%* ACupAngst: Kyoko so much.
%%** The villain Nanao Arisa
%%** And Akira Kurosawa, to a lesser degree.
%%** Luna Makurazaki worries that Jiro might like the other girls because of their chest size.
* AffablyEvil: All evil organizations, but Jiro and Eiko get a special note for this
** Jiro's father gets a special mention here for being a really nice guy making everyone like him, and then
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: May explain Jiro's Harem. After all, he is "evil"
* AlphaBitch: Minori Yamashita.
* AmbiguouslyGay/Hide Your Lesbians:
* ArtificialLimbs: Jiro gave Kyoko's Dad an artificial limb because RuleOfCool.
* AttentionWhore: Minori Yamashita
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: Jiro's father. He's the head of his organization and a supreme asskicker.
%%* BadAssBookworm: Jiro.
%%* BadAssBystander: Kyoko.
%%* BadassNormal: Kyouko.
* BecomingTheMask: Akira is prone to this when she's enjoying her disguise as a normal schoolgirl.
* BerserkButton: God help you if you dare hurt Kyoko. Jiro will literally punch you across the room with his new cape form
* BetaCouple: Subverted with Aki & Akagi (thus far), their relationship just as hilariously broken as the OfficialCouple themselves.
**
* BigBad: Jiro's dad, and Jiro in the future in their worlds logic. In the series itself there is Nebiros and their (presumed) leader Abaddon.
* BigDamnHeroes: Prompted by a CallOnMe Jiro get's a two page spread for it.
* BigEater: Eiko
** The entire Kusakabe family when the food is free. They are a little tight on cash normally.
* BigWordShout: Brought to us by Kyoko see call on me for details.
* BodyguardBabes: What Jiro envisions Kyoko as.
* BuxomBeautyStandard: Jiro says this and built 2.0 with a bigger chest than ACupAngst Kyoko
* CallOnMe: In Kyoko's defense he was late.
* CardCarryingVillain: All but one person who works for an evil group so far. If Jiro did not call himself evil all the time one would almost think he was a hero.
* CartoonishSupervillainy: Jiro wants to take over the world! To bad guys in costumes defeated his group.
* CatGirl: How President Ryuugi Akagi wants Kyoko modified.
** Kurosawa is drawn with cat ears when surprised and when shes really happy shes drawn with dog ears and a wagging tail.
* Caught The Heart On His Cape: Kyoko adorably
** Later on three fourths of his harem at the same time try this which just causes a fight.
* CharacterDevelopment: Kyoko goes from an introverted Type A tsundere to a much more open and outgoing person and more of an Type B, still firmly Type A but much less abusive and more forgiving, as the series goes on due to Jiro's influence.
** Jiro himself progressed from an awesome MadScientist with NoSocialSkills into a slightly less crazy and even more awesome GadgeteerGenius, albeit slowly.
** Pretty much all of the characters get some amount over the time of the manga. Kyoko and Jiro just get the most.
* CharlesAtlasSuperPower: Eiko
** Kyoko herself would qualify, as she is much stronger than your average schoolgirl.
*** It runs in the family - after all, almost half (if not more) of her family are villains.
* ChildhoodMarriagePromise: Mentioned briefly, during Kyokos flasback she remembers that Jiro and she have already met when they were kids. Back then They were asked what they want to be in the future and Kyoko said she'd be Jiro's bride.
* ChristmasEpisode: Starts out with a fight over which one Jiro would attend then it ends with Jiro inviting everyone to the Fanclub's party.
* CleaningUpRomanticLooseEnds: [[spoiler:Almost everyone. Besides our OfficialCouple, Yuki gets paired with Midoritani, Aki gets paired with Akagi, Saburo gets quite a bit of ShipTease with Luna, Kurosawa gets quite a bit of ShipTease with Oogami, Kyosato, when she's not raping Kyouko or Kurosawa, gets quite a bit with Eiko, and even Jiro's eldest sister Aya gets a lot of teasing with Ikusabe, EliteMook of the Kill Them All Organization.]]
* ClingyJealousGirl: 2.0
** Kyoko later on in the story, Deconstruction though this is actually shown to be a bad thing.
* Cloudcuckoolander: Eiko is showing this along with some AttentionDeficitOohShiny in the bottom panel.
** Jiro is this trope at times too.
* CrazyJealousGuy: Jiro goes crazy when he thinks he is losing Kyoko to a girl. Although all of the attention she gets from males seems to go over his head oddly enough.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: and damn does hide it well.
** Though it might qualify as ObfuscatingStupidity ForTheLulz, since she is eccentric enough to do it and most of her co-called stupidity comes from simple laziness.
* CurbStompBattle:
** vs The Entire Evil Organization "The Gorgeous".
**
* CuteClumsyGirl:
** Hanako Yasuhiko Midoritani's little sister.
** Kyosato Yukari the English teacher.
* CutLexLuthorACheck: Jiro's family has no money. Almost any/all of Jiro's inventions are scientific break throughs that would make them millions.
* TheDandy: Shikenoshin Kujou
* DarkActionGirl: Eiko theoretically with her CharlesAtlasSuperPower.
* DatingCatwoman: Shizuka Kusakabe an ally of JUSTICE! She also has a huge very open crush on Jiro.
* DeathGlare: Jiro is developing his.]
** Much earlier than that he shows his skills and he proves to be rather proficient at it.
* DeliberatelyDistressedDamsel: Eiko in a highly impractical attempt to gain fame and fortune.
* DesignatedHero[=/=]DesignatedVillaininvoked: It's even lampshaded InUniverse how out of it the person who decided who was good and who was evil must have been. The "villains," (members of "evil organizations") who are the protagonists of our story, are more NeighbourhoodFriendlyGangsters than anything truly "evil," and the members of most "evil organizations" tend to be outstanding role-model citizens, and the few that aren't get zero respect from anybody. The "heroes," (Known as "Allies of Justice") on the other hand, have no problem with the use of excessive force against mostly unarmed "villains" who are meeting up for what essentially amounts to a party.
* DisproportionateRetribution: No matter how innocent or little the slight Jiro does to Kyoko she megaton punches him. She does get better about this as time goes on.
** Also the Allies of Justice on the "Evil" organizations. Brutally destroying them with their superior fire power for not-so-evil acts like having a festival.
* DitzyGenius: Jiro can build pretty much anything, but is so naive that he really can't do anything right.
* DrunkOnMilk: 2.0 gets plastered on soda. Could be justified by 2.0 being a robot and all.
* EmpathicWeapon: Jiro's cape
* EmperorScientist: Jiro's goal.
* EnemyMine: When another group enters the school and starts targeting Justice, Evil, and civilians indiscriminately Jiro and the Justice followers team up to defeat them.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: It's hard to figure out what actual evil Jiro will even consider with his standards as high as they are. Hell, he even refrains from killing anybody, even his enemies
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Several of the girls, but the main one has to be Aki Nakatsugawa who not only is constantly harassed by her close friends but also has a Trio of infatuated juniors.
* EvilGenius: Self described Jiro.
* "Evil" Redhead: Also Jiro.
* EveryoneCanSeeIt
*
* FanDisservice: Eiko, who is one of if not the hottest character, is often SuperDeformed even in scenes that would be used for normal FanService.
* TheFamilyThatSlaysTogether: Everyone in Jiro's family is in the Evil Organization.
** Other than Kyouko's mother - otherwise Kyouko would have been a part of the official family business (even then nobody minds her seeing all sorts of secret things, and civilians aren't supposed to see anything).
*** Well, at the very least Kyouko's mother was a villain at the time she met Kyouko's father as in a flashback she was shown grumbling about Justice at a ramen stand.
* FastballSpecial: Kyouko was not amused.
* FirstGirlWins: It's rather obvious that Kyouko and Jiro will be together, and she was the first girl he met that has any importance in the story. They also have a ChildhoodMarriagePromise, courtesy of Kyouko.
* FishOutOfWater: Jiro knows nothing outside of being an evil scientist.
* GadgeteerGenius: Jiro
* GirlOnGirlIsHot: FanService is almost always some form of this, Kyosato then takes it up to eleven and no they didn't do that...I think.
** All the guys and some of the girls seem to believe in this trope. Eiko and Yuki especially.
* GoodIsNotNice: to the point of WhatTheHellHero, thankfully not reaching CerebusSyndrome yet.
* GoKartingWithBowser: Happens on occasion as Jiro makes more friends with Allies of Justice.
* GreyAndGrayMorality: There are nice guys among the villains who do charity work for their town and some real jerks among the heroes, and it looks like .
* HardDrinkingPartyGirl:
* HaremSeeker: Kimura, so much so that
* HarmlessVillain: Jiro and his family. They are more likely to save someone than to bully them.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Yuki and Aki, though Yuki seems to have a small crush on Aki. In the epilogue
* HeroKiller: Ichiro Akuno, Jiro's father. He takes out everybody:
** [[spoiler:Subverted when it is revealed that he never actually killed anybody, and was just trying to provoke Jiro into achieving his true potential.]]
* HeroWithAnFInGood: Shizuka Kusakabe, she is a good girl and a legitimate hero-in-training, but when it comes to plans many people comment on how evil they are.
* HotSpringsEpisode: A few times thus far
* InNameOnly: Most villains want to TakeOverTheWorld in a "let's make everyone happy so they want to be ruled by us, and we'll rule them then" kind of way, and heroes want to stop them, which kind of isn't heroic considering that world would probably be better under the rule of villains and the heroes are willing to go to great lengths to stop them.
* InstantExpert: Averted with Jiro. He might be creating stuff, but he still has to test it before doing anything grand. And while he is proficient with using his cape (which was created by his father) to do various things, he didn't know about some of its abilities before and has to learn to use them.
** Played straight with Kyoko, the first time she uses the cloak in battle not only is she able to easily unlock the battle-mode, that Jiro had to undergo TrainingFromHell for, her battle-mode is basically Superman. Shizuka comments that her battle-mode far exceeds Jiros.
* ImagineSpot: Shizuka Kusakabe has one where Jiro is Bishounen with a BishieSparkle. She's prone to these sometimes.
* IWasJustPassingThrough: He didn't save the little brothers of Shizuka Kusakabe, he just couldn't stand to see Delinquents such trash on the street!
* KillSat: Jiro has one that he can aim to ridiculous precision.
* KissingCousins: Jiro and Kyoko are first cousins on their mothers sidePossibly the translator is not certain but the evidence does seem to point this way. They could just be really really close families..
* KnightOfCerebus: Kurusu Yoh and Oogami Himeno the NewTransferStudents are so vicious to the point of invoking EnemyMine situation.
* LipstickLesbian:
* LoveChart: Shizuka Kusakabe pulls one out that shows how far each girl is from winning Jiro and it includes everyone in the unwanted harem mentioned below and Pochi. For reasons best known to Shizuka. It's accuracy is suspect though.
* LoveMakesYouEvil: Shinichi Kurata
* LoverTugOfWar: Between 2.0 and Shizuka Kusakabe, lampshaded even
* MagicalBoyfriend: Jiro uses science not magic, but he is obsessed with Kyoko who previously had few friends and almost never did anything with large groups.
* MadScientist: Jiro, harmless, but he fits the bill.
** His father is also one if him running the organization and creating Jiro's cape is anything to go by.
* MadScientistLaboratory: Jiro's room and he has one under the school.
* MaleGaze: Kyoko's butt is shown a lot, especially when she's naked, and Aki's breasts. Any girl with breasts will get a shot a at least once.
* TheMaster: In what can only be a parody of this trope. Jiro calls the Kyoko's dog, who he made an invention for it to talk, Master. For reasons only known to Cloudcuckoolander Jiro.
* MasterOfTheMixedMessage: Jiro can veer into this at times because of his lack of knowledge on human relationships.
* MegatonPunch: Jiro is on the receiving end all the time from Kyoko which seems to be why he wants to modify her because her starting qualities are so good.
* Meido: 2.0
* MobileShrubbery: Eiko uses a telephone pole.
* Mooks: They show up a few times, but mostly they aren't around.
** Recently, to help his organization keep up appearances, Jiro's friends pretended to be his mooks during a super villain festival.
* DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnFemale: seems to be made with this in mind.
* MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate: Dr. J! The J is for Jiro.
** It has to be pointed out, though, that villains are shown to be no less moral than heroes, and the ones we had seen are definitely more helpful for civilians than the "good guys".
* Muggles: Civilians in this series.
* NebulousEvilOrganisation: The Evil Group.
* Necromantic:
* Ninja: Jiro's adopted younger brother Saburo Akuno
* NoPlansNoPrototypeNoBackup: Largely averted, but happens on occasion. Comes with hanging around a mad scientist.
* NoSocialSkills: Jiro was raised by a very strange family in an Evil Organization.
* Nosebleed: Happens on occasion.
* OneHeadTaller: Latest chapters show us that Jiro is about a head taller than Kyoko.
* ObliviousToLove: Jiro to all love except oddly enough for Yasuhiko Midoritani's crush on Shinonome. He does not recognize any of his unwanted harems affections, nor his own towards Kyoko.
** Kyoko tries to be oblivious to her feelings for Jiro.
* OfficialCouple: The series ends with two confirmed and one all but confirmed. That said, the UnwantedHarem says that until the wedding day they wont give up.
* OldMaid: Aya, Jiro's eldest sister, is this, she's 29 by the end of the series and tries hard to get married by going to interviews and mixers that end badly (once even running away and saying she's too young). In her last DayInTheLimeLight chapter she drunkenly proposes to EliteMook Ikusabe, who has had a massive crush on her for ten years, then passes out, its unknown if she even remembers.
* OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent: Everybody in their school except for Jiro at the series start as time goes on though more Heroes and Villains join the school.
* OutdoorBathPeeping / ThePeepingTom: All The Watari Fanclub members are willing participants in peeping on the girls changing or bathing at first. Later on Yasuhiko Midoritani refuses to do it and tries to stop them.
* PairTheSpares: There is enough ShipTease that by the end, almost everyone is on their way to OfficialCouple status.
* PeoplePuppets: Makurazaki Luna, a vampire, drinks Kyoko's sweat to control her. She finds blood to be icky.
* PokeThePoodle: Jiro once tried to get summer vacation canceled.Because he was afraid of not being able to see his friends during the break.
** Shizuka Kusakabe and Makurazaki Luna get in on the action too when they try to ruin Kyoko's diet.
* PornStash: Aki Nakatsugawa finds Ryuugi Akagi's while cleaning his room.
* PostKissCatatonia: Jiro after Kyoko kisses him on the train.
* PrettyFreeloader: Jiro and Eiko. Eiko keeps trying to get a job, but seems pretty unemployable. Jiro tries to be useful though.
* PunchClockHero: Played straight with most Allies Of Justice, Averted with who reveals that she goes out of her way to do good deeds, not because she has to but because she wants to, even if people call her a meddler or annoyance.
* PunchClockVillain: Played with, every villan in-series is completely dedicated to being a villan, but their definition of evil is different from the norm. Only one villan actually acts like a real-world villan.
** Eiko on the other hand is a lazy Neet that is barely motivated to do anything, though lots of property damage and law suits can be expected when she is.
* RedBaron: The Freedom
* TheRemnant: All that is left of the "Kill Them All" evil organization is Jiro's family and one very loyal mook.
* RidiculouslyHumanRobot: 2.0
* TheRival: Kageyama Genzou is stated to be Jiro's rival. Also his only similarly aged "friend" growing up.
%%* SceneryPorn: Not all the time but often enough.
%%* SenseiChan: Kyosato Yukari
* SheIsAllGrownUp: ; Jiro himself has not made comment on it but nearly every other character has.
* ShipperOnDeck: Pretty much everyone, who is not trying to get one of the two for them self, for Jiro and Kyoko
** Jiro ships Shinonome and Midoritani Yasuhiko when he remembers about it.
** Kyoko and Shinonome playing it straight for Aki x Akagi.
* ShipTease: Aki and President Akagi has their share of moment, Akagi was oblivious pretty much in Jiro's fashion.
** The series as a whole loves this trope as almost everyone is ship teased whith someone else almost to the point of NoLovesIntersect, even Jiro's harem has teases with someone else.
* ShroudedInMyth: Jiro's father. We never see him until very late in the manga, but we know for the most of the story that Jiro has some sort of beef with him and that he made Jiro's cape. He also apparently adopts kids at random and then trains them to be ninjas.
%%* SkinshipGrope: Yuki and Kyosato both love this trope.
* SlasherSmile: Jiro's teeth are pointed so any smile of his gives this impression.
* SlidingScaleOfVillainEffectiveness: Jiro's group? None less than none, and actually the locals around them can't wait for the "Kill Them All" group to come back because they are so nice and Jiro builds them machines for free.
%%* Spider Tractor: It's creepy...
* Shoutout: In chapter 2 Jiro tries to infiltrate Kyokos room, and for that, he has prepared a drill! His speech sounds oddly familiar...
** Jiro does not know what a bride is.
* StalkerWithACrush: Shizuka Kusakabe is only attending Jiro's school to stalk him. She considers it fate though.
** StalkerWithoutACrush: Was this for a grand total of one chapter.
* StudentCouncilPresident:
** First Ryuugi Akagi
** Later when he is graduating Jiro, Kurosawa, and Yoshihito Kimura all run for the position.
* SuperDeformed: Eiko very frequently, but others can be subjected to this too.
* SupportingHarem: Even though Kyoko and Jiro both have their own harem there isn't much ShipTease between the harem members and the object of their affections, infact most of them get alot more ship tease with other characters.
* SuspiciouslySpecificDenial: Jiro here.
** Ryuugi Akagi has no interest is seeing a luscious pair of huge knockers.
* TalkingAnimal: Pochi, Kyoko's dog, thanks to Jiro.
* TemporaryLoveInterest: Shikenoshin Kujou for Kyoko.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Kimura is an amoral jerkass, who has actually tried to forcefully peek on kyoko and was going to have his way with an unconcious female villan.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Jiro and his croquette.
* TrainingFromHell: The Room of Evil: Death Hall aka Evil Crevice. Is where villains go to level up and the first room involves fighting the person you are weaker against and it only gets worse from there.
** Kurosawa gives a lighter version to Jiro's friends so they can become mooks more or less. Mind you the lighter version had live missiles being shot at them.
** Kyosato then gives everyone some more, for no reason, during a camping trip.
* TrueCompanions: Despite their teasing, fighting, and differing loyalties everyone is shown to consider one another friends.
* Tsundere: Kyoko type A she slowly shifts to type B as the series goes on.
** Aki Nakatsugawa shown a trait of Type A, though even less violent.
* UnstoppableRage:
** Tell Kyoko she has small breasts. Jiro has weaponized this trait to break Luna's hold over Kyoko once.
** Jiro does not like to see Kyoko messed with and, on a lesser level, civilians dragged into the fights especially his new friends.
* UnwantedHarem: Jiro has Tsundere Kyoko, Makurazaki Luna, 2.0, and Shizuka Kusakabe all vying for his affections. He does not understand nor notice.
** Kyoko has her fanclub, Jiro, and Kujou Sukenoshin.
*** And Akira, according the Jiro.
*** Kyoko also considers Akira to be in Jiro's
* ValleyGirl: For whatever reason Yuki Shinonome is translated with the ValleyGirl speaking pattern.
* VillainProtagonist: Not that he ever does anything evil, but Jiro still fights against justice sorta...
* VillainsOutShopping: The entire series. Barring a few more action oriented arcs.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Shizuka and 2.0 are the most faithful to the trope
** Kurosawa and manage to destroy whatever room they are in when they start to argue.
** For some strange reason Pochi and Eiko have this dynamic, The two are always fighting but also hang out constantly.
*** Eiko and are perfect friends, [[spoiler:maybe more]] but when they drink they become this.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Shikenoshin Kujou only appears in about three chapters and is never heard from again. No reason is ever given
* WhatIsThisThingYouCallLove: Jiro: he is so far removed from understanding that he just assumes that his body's reaction and feelings just mean he really wants to modify Kyoko's body. He does not even understand lust he's holding a porno book.
* WouldHarmAChild / WouldHitAGirl: Ichiro Akuno curb stomps every main character at once, three of which were his own children and even uses Shizuka and Saburu as human shields after knocking them out.
* YaoiFangirl: Yuki and Kyoko
