''Big Order'' is a manga by Creator/SakaeEsuno, creator of ''Manga/FutureDiary'' and ''Manga/HanakoAndTheTerrorOfAllegory'', which was serialized in ''Shonen Ace'' from 2011 to 2016 and compiled into 10 volumes. It received a 23-minute OVA adaptation in 2015, and a 10-episode TV anime adaptation in 2016.

Hoshimiya Eiji is an introverted high school boy who believed that he [[MakesSenseInContext wished to be able to take over the world]]. His wish also coincided with a series of large scale disasters that suddenly swept across the entire planet, resulting in the deaths of millions. At the same time, special people all over the world made wishes, and were granted powers based upon them called ''Orders,'' Eiji amongst them.

Eiji naturally comes to the conclusion that he is responsible for the destruction. He becomes afraid of his power and decides not to use it again, forgetting his wish. He manages to live a normal life despite the existence of Order Users becoming public knowledge, but that all changes the day that the girl he had a crush on, Rin, turns out to be an assassin and tries to murder him.

Rin and her allies are aware of how Eiji is responsible for the destruction from ten years ago, and are hellbent on killing him before he can conquer the world. Despite Eiji's blatant desire to avoid doing anything of the sort, he will soon find himself at the helm of a dangerous organization of Order Users.

!!This series contains examples of:

* TwoDVisualsThreeDEffects: How the Orders are realized in the anime.
* AdaptationInducedPlothole: Explanations of Eiji's powers and limitations are often left out of the anime, making it seem as though Eiji's limitations or abilities come out of nowhere.
* AllWomenAreLustful: The major female characters are not at all shy about their sexual desires, particularly in the anime:
** Rin's [[InterplayOfSexAndViolence attraction to Eiji is as strong as her desire to kill him.]] From Episode 2, despite her resentment at him using his Order to make her his wife, she decides to take advantage of their situation to frequently grope his crotch. In the OVA, her first assassination attempt on him was as much a seduction, as she embraces him and tenderly nipped his ear. One reality in the OVA seems to portray them as genuine lovers, as Eiji wakes up not knowing what's happening next to a naked Rin, and her response to his odd state is to softly purr that she'll "make him remember" before kissing him and getting on top of him in bed.
** Sena is genuinely attracted to her older brother, [[spoiler: especially since they both know they're NotBloodSiblings, and Episode 5 has a scene with a lot of discarded clothes implying they had ShowerSex together]]. In the final episode, she outright taunts Rin that Eiji belongs to her.
** Iyo in Episode 6 goes so far as to strip nude in an effort to redirect Eiji's attraction to Rin. She also talks about how even when her father made her [[VirginPower avoid men due to her status as a miko]], she was constantly fantasizing about her future husband, and when she received her powers of divination, the ''very first thing'' [[PowerPerversionPotential she did with it]] was foretell who he would be. Eventually in Episode 9, [[spoiler:she chains Eiji to a bed and tries to rape him to get herself pregnant so he would be with her forever]].
* AmbiguouslyEvil: Hiiragi does seem to have some sort of plan, but it remains to be seen what it is or what his moral standing is.
* AnArmAndALeg: Rin cuts off Eiji's hand - the one he had the Order symbol on - in chapter 14. However, thanks to Hiiragi using his Order, he gets it back in the very next chapter.
* AnOfferYouCantRefuse: Eiji is told by the Order Users that they want to take part in his plan to take over the world. When he asks what would happen if he declines, he's told he's on his own when the world fights back. He is then forced to take part in their plans.
* ArchnemesisDad: [[spoiler: Eiji's dad created Daisy by stealing and ruining a lot of research that could have benefited the world. He specifically planned for Eiji's desires to trigger her and destroy the world. Now he needs to capture Eiji in order to make sure he can finish the job. Eiji was the gun, Daisy was the bullet, and his dad was the one who pulled the trigger. The Daifuzu are fighting against him, because he's amassing followers in the UN.]]
* BigBad: [[ArchnemesisDad Gennai Hoshimiya]].
* BigBrotherInstinct: Eiji, to Sena. Though they're not related, as his father married her mother, she genuinely thought of him as an older brother. Consequently, he ends up doing everything in his power to make her happy, particularly as she's ill.
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler:Hiiragi shows up out of nowhere, joins Eiji and Iyo in a fight and saves them from Rin in chapter 15.]]
* BlackmailIsSuchAnUglyWord: The Order Users plan to rule the world, with Eiji as their puppet-king. They tell him that it wouldn't be so bad, because they're also helping to save his sister, who has a SoapOperaDisease that will kill her unless they can find an Order who can heal her.
* BloodierAndGorier: While ''Big Order'' runs in a Shonen publication, it is noticeably ''more'' graphic than its spiritual predecessor, ''Manga/FutureDiary''. Yen Press even went so far as to [[http://www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/none/Big-Order-Vol-1/9780316504621/?yen give the official English-translated manga an "M" rating (18+) for its content]], whereas ''Future Diary'' [[https://www.viz.com/read/manga/digital/future-diary-volume-1/2828 only got a "T+" rating (16+) from Viz Media]].
* TheCallKnowsWhereYouLive: Once Eiji shows up on the Order Users' radar, they immediately send Rin to infiltrate his school. Unfortunately she decided to kill him, rather than merely observe him, though fortunately for him his powers reawaken long enough to stop her.
* CrapsackWorld: The world turned into one after Eiji accidentally destroys much of it with his wish.
* DistantFinale: The final chapter takes place three years after [[spoiler:Eiji and Sena vanished, with the Group of Ten having reunited to make the wish that brings the siblings back]].
* DoNotAdjustYourSet: The Japanese government is not afraid to execute the Ten's family members with the entire nation watching.
* EnslavedTongue: Sena plans to get Gennai to confess what he did on live broadcast, but he outwits her and makes him look like the good guy. She cannot refute him because she is too shocked in the manga; in the anime, his ability of "Mind Set" controls her into agreeing with everything he says.
* {{Expy}}:
** Rin is obviously based off of [[Manga/FutureDiary Yuno]]. She would be a blatant CaptainErsatz were it not for a key difference in their characters: Yuno was in love with Yuki and wanted to spend the rest of her life with him, but Rin despises Eiji and will stop at nothing to murder him. But that may change depending on how her relationship with Eiji develops.
** Taira looks like an older version of Muru Muru from ''Manga/FutureDiary''.
** The Orders themselves are very reminiscent to [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure Stands]] in terms of looks, powers and overall concept. Even more so in the Anime where they even pop up like Stands from their users.
* ExoticEyeDesigns: Daisy. They're shaped like stars. [[spoiler:Also, one of the villains has a MagicalEye that looks exactly like Daisy's.]]
* EyepatchOfPower: One of the villains introduced in chapter 12 wears it [[spoiler:to hide his MagicalEye.]]
* FauxAffablyEvil: The Prime Minister of Japan orders decapitation of several people, has it broadcast to the entire nation... and then politely apologizes to anyone who happened to have their meal while watching that.
* FirstEpisodeTwist: Eiji's wish and Order aren't to destroy the world, but to conquer it.
* FunWithAcronyms: [[spoiler:Chapter 19 reveals that "Daisy" is in fact an acronym for "Desire Accessible Information [=SYstem=]".]]
* GeckoEnding: The final episode of the anime pulled one of these.
* GoryDiscretionShot: When Rin stabs Sena with her sword, the act isn't shown, but Sena's shirt starts turning red from her blood. She screams in pain, then passes out from the shock after the camera switches back to a wider angle of her and Rin as the elevator they're in closes.
* {{Gonk}}: The Prime Minister of Japan.
* IHaveYourWife: The Prime Minister of Japan correctly deduces that Eiji is merely a puppet leader of the coup d'état actually organized by the Order users who are officially his subordinates. Thus, to force them to surrender, he reveals that he had their relatives arrested and orders his subordinates to start decapitating them.
* HypercompetentSidekick: Daisy, seemingly.
* IdiotHair: Daisy
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice:
** Rin is stabbed with her own katana after Eiji's powers reawaken. Unfortunately for him she has a HealingFactor, and is perfectly fine when he sees her again a few hours later.
** Rin stabs Sena through her heart in order to force Eiji's hand.
* {{Irony}}: The story ''thrives'' on this.
** The NiceGuy main character has the power to [[BadPowersGoodPeople bend the world to his will]] (literally), and wants to save the world by taking it over.
** He's then manipulated into being a puppet by a NebulousEvilOrganization, effectively taking away his choice in the matter.
** Rin, the girl who dedicated her life to killing Eiji and avenging her parents, is hit with a {{Geas}} (for lack of a better term) that prevents her from killing him [[note]] directly, at least[[/note]] and permanently binds her to his will. Oh, and they're also engaged.
* MissConception: Iyo believes that she would get pregnant if anyone touched rabbit ear-like things on her head. [[spoiler:Ends up as DoubleSubversion of the trope: for a while it looked like she was actually right, but ultimately it turned out her belly was just displaying a prediction of her future pregnancy.]]
* NoRomanticResolution: Throughout the manga, Eiji has ShipTease with Rin and Iyo. [[spoiler:In the final chapter, he isn't together with either of them because he and Sena were expelled from the world for three years. When the Group of Ten manage to bring the siblings back, Rin and Iyo state they'll reassume the competition for who gets Eiji now that he's back.]]
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: One of the Order users appears to have a timber with eyes and mouth painted on it for a head. Also, [[{{Gonk}} the Prime Minister]].
* PsychoticSmirk: Hiiragi has this expression at the end of chapter 9.
* ReusedCharacterDesign: Quite a few character designs from [[Manga/FutureDiary the writer's previous work]] get reused here. Eiji's and Rin's designs are very visibly based on Yukiteru's and Yuno's, while Hiiragi looks like Akise with longer hair. The master of the stone giant introduced in chapter 7 looks a lot like a grown-up version of [=MurMur=], though some of her [[SlasherSmile facial expressions]] are more reminiscent of Minene.
* SecretTestOfCharacter: Eiji attempts to fight Abram in order to rescue Sena, who was still being held hostage. However, their fight is stopped midway through, and the Order User's top leaders then surround him. [[spoiler:They then reveal that they were just testing him, and actually want to help him take over the world, and rule secretly from behind the scenes. They sweeten the deal by offering to find an Order who could heal Sena's SoapOperaDisease so that she wouldn't have to die.]]
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: It's either Abram or Abraham depending on the translator
* SuperEmpowering: Daisy's chief ability.
* SuperpowerLottery: Sort of. A person's Order is based on a wish they make, but how that wish gets interpreted will vary. At any rate, Eiji is probably the winner, since he can not only control people's bodies, but their Orders as well.
* TeenPregnancy: A particularly bizarre example. [[spoiler:One of the Order users, Iyo, warned Eiji not to touch rabbit ear-like somethings on her head and explained that her father had told her that touching them would make her pregnant. Eiji was obviously skeptical, but nonetheless promised not to touch them. Later, during their escape from the stone giant, he accidentally grabbed her "ears"... and her belly immediatelly grew as if she was pregnant, and having a case of ExpressDelivery at that. Ultimately subverted, as it turned out to be a display of a prediction of Iyo's future and not an actual pregnancy.]]
* TimeMaster: Abram's Order
