* ''WesternAnimation/AdventureTime'':
** The Earl of Lemongrab is an interesting version of this. Physically he's eighteen at the youngest, but because he was born in a laboratory, he's only about 1-year-old chronologically. He acts like a bratty little kid trapped inside the body of an adult, mainly because he ''is'' a very young brat who happens to be an adult, too. He and his brother/clone/[[AmbiguouslyGay boyfriend]] also have kids together... and they're ''still'' immature manchildren.
** Jake also very much resembles this at times, to the point where one wonders if he's an English Bulldog, as he closely resembles physically, or if he's a [[BigFriendlyDog Golden Retriever]]. His son Kim Kil Wan even says that Jake acts like a child.
** Ice King also acts like this as he throws tantrums and treats being grounded literally. [[JustifiedTrope Unfortunately due to the magic of the Ice Crown which made his way.]] [[WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity Pretty much "sadness and madness" accompany anyone who uses magic,]][[MageSpecies and it's notable that wizards are technically their own race.]]
** Cinnamon Bun is shown to be "basically 30" yet he owns a night light and cries a lot like a child while looking up to KidHero Finn. Turns out this is [[JustifiedTrope because he wasn't finished developing,]] as in he was literally ''undercooked.'' Going to help Flame Princess by moving to the Flame Kingdom allows him to grow by literally being able to finish baking. He becomes much more competent and mature (also a lot bigger, going from Finn's height to about ''twice that''.) He's still kind-hearted and he still looked up to Finn to emulate him as he grew (he named his giant fire wolf steed Jake II for starts.)
* ''WesternAnimation/TheAmazingWorldOfGumball'': Richard Watterson. If anything, he's even ''more'' immature than his own offspring. Justified in that this was how his mother raised him. After [[spoiler: his father [[YouDirtyRat Frankie Watterson,]] a conman]] left, Jojo Watterson raised Richard to be unable to do anything himself and instill a fear of everything in him, hence why he is the way he is today. In the episode we discover this, she attempts to this to her grandchildren (as a result of her disagreement on Nicole raising them), but Nicole put a stop to that.
* ''WesternAnimation/AmericanDad'':
** Stan Smith as he is 42-years-old but he has shades of acting childish at times. It's revealed that this the result of being forced to grow up fast as his father left when he was ''eight'', and thus had to be man of the house. When he goes into a bounce house to put a stop to Steve's party, he enjoys it so much he remains there for ''days.'' Roger himself notes that Stan's inner child is screaming to get out.
** Roger the Alien. He was revealed to be over 1600-years-old, yet he throws tantrums and some of his personas and disguises are that of children.
** Francine is a 40-year-old woman, yet she often behaves as if she is seven-years-old.
** Hayley can sometimes act quite childish. The most notable case being in "Hayley Smith: SEAL Team Six" where she was hypnotized by Roger into acting like a six-year-old.
** Jeff is quite immature most of the time. Hayley often acts like more like his mom than his wife, such as telling him to go sit in the corner when he insults Francine.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Archer}}'': Sterling Archer. Despite being a world-class secret agent, he is also a brainless, immature MommasBoy who is often more interested in things like pirate lacrosse or ''Film/{{Aliens}}''-style space robots than the safety of his companions.
* ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'': King Bumi also qualifies for this. He is an old man who is slightly crazy. He also sometimes says that it is simply fun to make nonsense. He has not changed since when he and Aang were children
* ''WesternAnimation/BatmanBeyondReturnOfTheJoker'':
** ComicBook/TheJoker points out that for all the fear he invokes being TheCowl, Batman is really this trope:
---> "I must admit, it's sadly anti-climactic. Behind all the strum and batarangs, you're just a little boy in a playsuit, crying for mommy and daddy! It'd be funny if it weren't so pathetic... Oh, what the heck, I'll laugh anyway! ''([[LaughingMad Mad Laughter]])''"
** Years later the second Batman, Terry [=McGinnis=], throws the Joker's insults right back at him by pointing out that the Joker himself is also this trope as his fixation with the original Batman was childishly pathetic and, once you take away all the garish make up and fancy props, the Joker was really nothing more than a stupid, overgrown kid trying to make people laugh at a joke that wasn't all that funny to begin with, angering the Clown Prince of Crime greatly.
* Several characters in ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheBraveAndTheBold,'' most notably ComicBook/PlasticMan.
* The animated version of ''WesternAnimation/{{Beetlejuice}}''. The majority of the inhabitants of the Neitherworld are fairly mature. Beetlejuice most likely expired in his late 30s, but he's mentally about eight, and a childish prankster who hangs around with a 12-year-old Lydia in an IntergenerationalFriendship.
* ''WesternAnimation/BigHero6TheSeries'': There are three main examples of this trope in the series that are often PlayedForLaughs.
** Fred is at least 18 or 19 yet is very excitable, enjoys childen's media such as Wendy Wower's Science Hour, and holds a burning rivalry with a literal child. He even refers to himself as one during "Fred's Bro-Tillion".
---> "Listen, Steamer, today's my bro-tillion! Today, I am not a baby child; I am a MAN child!"
** Alistair Krei definitely counts as one, though he doesn't show this as often as the other two examples on this list. That being said, he has moments of childishness. He's been caught sucking his thumb on two separate occasions (once in "Seventh Wheel" and once in "Return to Sycorax") and his inner child came bursting out when Fred and Hiro dress Baymax up as Santa for him during "The Present". It's also during this specific episode that it's revealed that he's ''forty-four''.
** Supersonic Stu is perhaps the most blatant example. He's said to be in his ''thirties'' already and still acts like he's around five or six.
* ''WesternAnimation/BojackHorseman'': A central theme is that most of Hollywood's residents, especially the more affluent ones, never had to face any real struggle or [[MiseryBuildsCharacter hardship that prompted them to grow as people]] and became stunted as a result, making the same mistakes over and over without truly learning from them.
** Bojack himself is a darker example without fully crossing the line into PsychopathicManchild. He's self-aware to a degree, rational and intelligent enough to make excellent points on the celebrity culture he finds himself trapped in, but is still mentally a teenager despite being in his early 50s and regularly makes self-destructive, impulsive decisions that hurt himself and others. Later on when his [[TheOneThatGotAway old flame Charlotte]]'s 17-year-old daughter Penny comes onto him while he's staying with them in New Mexico where she's legal, he tries to reject her for moral reasons at first but ultimately stops resisting as he doesn't truly ''feel'' that he's doing anything wrong since he's mentally around her age himself, only feeling ashamed over it after other people tell him he should be.
** Mr. Peanutbutter is TheAntiNihilist serving as Bojack's {{foil}}, an excitable, energetic labrador who [[StepfordSmiler almost never stops smiling]]. However, his worldview ends up leading him to become a SerialSpouse, as he's still mentally in his 20s despite being Bojack's age and consistently seeks out younger women as a result who inevitably outgrow him, get tired of his antics, and leave.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheBrothersFlub'' Guapo is old enough to have a job, but he acts like a bratty child who cares a lot more about having fun than being responsible or keeping anyone safe including himself. In one episode he even willingly drinks from a baby bottle.
* ''WesternAnimation/BunsenIsABeast'': Muckledunk's anchormen Bob and Ken are frequently shown to be childish, most notably in the ChristmasEpisode, where Bob's desired Christmas present is a pet monkey, Ken's is for a flashlight he can use to stay up past his bedtime reading comics and Santa's elves bring up how it's important to give presents to Bob and Ken as well as the children of Muckledunk.
* ''WesternAnimation/CatDog'': Despite being an adult, Dog acts like a kid, for example he likes reading comic books and playing in the park, throws tantrums, and is rather naïve and innocent. Cat even describes him as being "like a little puppy".
* ''WesternAnimation/CodenameKidsNextDoor'': Ironically, most of the ChildHater villains have childish tendencies. In "Operation: F.L.U.S.H.", for example, five of the bad guys invade Sector V's treehouse. Knightbrace and Mr. Boss immediately start arguing over whose room they get to take like two siblings fighting over who gets the biggest room.
* ''WesternAnimation/CodeLyoko'': Mr. Delmas has shades of this -- plays games on his computer, for instance.
* ''WesternAnimation/DanVs'': The eponymous protagonist acts this way a lot. He dislikes vegetables, refuses to get a job even at the risk of eviction, can't keep his place clean in 20 minutes, has Chris and Elise pay for his meals as if they're his parents, throws a temper tantrum when he doesn't get his way, and of course, instigates vengeance against anyone (and anything) over minor incidents. Fitting considering it's a show aimed at children with subtle adult humor.
* ''WesternAnimation/DextersLaboratory'':
** Dexter's Dad tends to behave immaturely and isn't above playing childish pranks on the rest of the family.
** Ratman, a one-shot character from the ''Justice Friends'' segments, is self-described as "a mere child of 30". A jab at Batman being considered this, he was living with his parents until they abandoned him. He was then raised by rats (who actually put him through community college or technical college) and thus, he became Ratman.
* ''WesternAnimation/DragonTales'': Mungus the Giant, despite looking like an adult giant and living by himself, he often behaves and talks like a child. He claims that he didn't know he was supposed to clean himself and breaks down crying when the gang accidentally ruins a dessert he made for his mommy's birthday.
* ''WesternAnimation/DrawnTogether'': Captain Hero is revealed in the pilot episode to be a 28-year-old superhero yet he wears diapers, wets the bed, and throws tantrums. He also crosses into a psychopathic version of this frequently and is considered to be very dangerous through this tripe.
* ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales2017'':
** Launchpad [=McQuack=] is referred as one by Mrs. Beakley. Seeing as how Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby come off as more emotionally mature than he to the point that seeing a scary movie convinces him that the film's fictional plot could happen in real life, she's not all that wrong.
** [[spoiler:Della Duck]] is a more downplayed example. [[spoiler:Having raced off into space before the triplets were born and spending over a decade stuck on the Moon did not prepare her for motherhood at all, so she tends to treat the triplets like friends or siblings rather than her sons. While she's still adventurous, she's learning to get out of that mindset.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddparents'':
** Timmy Turner will apparently become this in the future, according to his show's LiveActionAdaptation. He does this intentionally so he can remain with Cosmo, Wanda and Poof.
** [[AdultsAreUseless Every adult in Dimmsdale is this]].
** Cosmo, despite being thousands of years old, acts immature at times, and still wears diapers.
* ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy'':
** Peter Griffin wavers between this and PsychopathicManchild.
---> "I wanna be the baby!"
** Although not to Peter's extent, Lois' behavior in later episodes resembles that of a spoiled teenage girl who thinks she can do whatever she wants just because.
* ''WesternAnimation/FinalSpace'': Gary Goodspeed, the BadassAdorable protagonist, is 32-years-old but acts [[OlderThanTheyLook (and looks)]] about half that age; although it should be noted that he [[CharacterDevelopment matures]] throughout the series, he still retains a bubbly and childlike disposition. he's especially this in regards to his attachment to [[TrademarkFavoriteFood cookies]], observed in this classic exchange from Episode 10:
-->'''HUE:''' I'd offer you a cookie, but I think you've outgrown that by now.
-->'''Gary:''' What!? NO! ''GIMME A COOKIE!'' ''I will never, '''ever''' outgrow a cookie!!''
* While he technically isn't this yet, Debbie Douglas expresses hope that her son, Duncan becomes one of these in ''WesternAnimation/{{Freakazoid}}'' because he's not exactly opposed to it.
-->'''Debbie:''' "You'll be a big strong man-child, still lifting weights in your room when you're forty!"
-->'''Duncan:''' "Cool! That way I can ''really'' buff up, and save some money!"
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}'':
** Philip J. Fry plays video games, watches TV, drinks soda by the gallon, does anything if he's dared to do it, and has no ambition in life except for love. He's that flat mate that you knew who just can't seem to truly grow up (...and is often fully aware of it. Refer to his one ambition for why this is a source of gloom for him often), but at least he's cool to hang out with. His arc over the show matures his outlook enough to [[spoiler:make him marriage material]] while leaving his childlike sensibility intact, and if ''Bender's Big Score'' is any indication, [[spoiler:he's destined to become a reliable adult -- just at a slower rate than most.]]
** Doctor John A. Zoidberg is over 80-years-old, yet he plays with toys and throws tantrums whenever Hermes is mean to him.
** Lrrr, ruler of Omicron Persei 8, throws tantrums, loves eating junk food, and at some point has a childish love for animals, which Ndnd likes.
** Bender is a first-order PsychopathicManchild. {{Justified|Trope}} in that [[spoiler:being a robot, he's only 3- to 4-years-old, although fully adult, when the show starts.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:G-P]]
* ''WesternAnimation/GravityFalls'':
** Soos is described as this by the show's promotional material and website. Given that he's a semi-CloudCuckoolander who's OneOfTheKids, this is a given. Even said so by Grunkle Stan in the Season 1 finale, saying "you're a good man... child, Soos".
** [[spoiler: Soos’s girlfriend]] Melody is a RareFemaleExample. [[spoiler: It’s part of the reason why she gets along so well with Soos.]]
** [[PoliceAreUseless Deputy Durland and Sheriff Blubs]] also qualify as they both love reading spooky ghost stories and making friendship bracelets and went candy hunting on Halloween. They also giggle like children a lot. Durland is shown to be a bigger one than Blubs.
* ''WesternAnimation/HazbinHotel'': Charlie is hundreds or thousands of years old (and even considering her immortality has the physical age of a young adult); she is the only person in Hell who acknowledges that a yearly purge of its citizens is a problem and wants to fix it. She also has a hyperactive, bubbly, and even childish personality, with a lot more enthusiasm than preplanned steps. She presents her plans to Heaven and Hell with pictures drawn in ''crayon'' and communicates her ideas via reality-warping musical numbers. When she's in Heaven to pitch her plans before the Heavenly Court, she acts like a tourist, eager to visit Heaven's petting zoo and try Rainbow Sprinkles on ice cream. When attempting to get the Habin Hotel guests and employees to bond through trust exercises, she eagerly wants to go first, like a kindergartener in show-and-tell.
-->'''Vaggie''': Who wants to go first?\
'''Charlie''': Ooh! Ooh! [=MeMeMe=]! Me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me!
%% * Glickenstein and King Malbert from ''WesternAnimation/{{Igor}}''.
* ''WesternAnimation/JohnnyBravo'': The titular character. He's in his mid to late 20s, still lives with his mother, throws temper tantrums when he doesn't get what he wants, spends much of his time playing with toys, has a lot of childlike interests, and he sleeps with a teddy bear and baby blanky often while sucking his thumb. On the other hand, he's pretty perverted and constantly hits on women.
* ''WesternAnimation/JohnnyTest'':
** Dukey is an 11-year-old dog (he should be 77 in dog years) yet he sounds like a 20-year-old. He plays video games, cries whenever he thinks his birthday is forgotten, dresses like a teenager, and often whines.
** Hugh Test, Johnny's dad has some traits of this as he freaks out over the smallest things, obsessively cooks meatloaf, and is revealed to secretly love video games.
** Mr. Black and Mr. White are federal agents in their 30's yet they both love candy and are very irresponsible as whenever they screw up in something, they rely on the Test family to help fix whatever messes Mr. Black and Mr. White themselves create
** Most of the citizens of Porkbelly also fit into this.
* ''WesternAnimation/KingOfTheHill'':
** Luanne Platter from the later episodes when she began dating and eventually married a moronic, middle aged, hillbilly "Lucky" to the point where she acts like a 5-year-old most of the time.
** Peggy Hill was once described as a woman-child, possibly due to her self-centeredness.
** [[AdultsAreUseless Most of the adults are immature in some way]], to the point where ''[[TheDitz Bobby]]'' snaps after his grandpa and step-grandma leave him to care for grandpa's infant son and Luanne and Lucky prove to be ridiculously irresponsible parents (Luanne is pregnant at this point).
** Hank's boss, Buck Strickland, is so childlike to the point where Hank always have to bail him out whatever trouble he gets into.
* ''WesternAnimation/KingRollo'': King Rollo's daily schedule is indistinguishable from that of a 5-year-old boy. His kingdom doesn't seem to suffer too much from his behavior, though.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'':
** Despite having grown up an orphan living on the streets, Bolin is pretty immature for his age and circumstance. Justified in that his older brother Mako has done a lot to shelter him from the worst aspects of their lives, and essentially raised him on his own. There's a tinge of deconstruction to Bolin's treatment because it shows the consequences of raising a manchild on the person who shelters them from reality. Mako is emotionally stunted due to having fixated for so long on raising Bolin. His romantic relationships feature him playing the part of [[DeclarationOfProtection a protective figure]], and when a girl proves she doesn't need his help he loses interest. [[CharacterDevelopment They both eventually get better.]]
** Also Aang and Katara's son Bumi although he's a middle-aged man he acts like a hyperactive, childish prankster, his sister Kya lampshades this at one point:
-->'''Kya''': Even though you're the oldest you've always acted like the youngest.
* ''WesternAnimation/MaggieAndTheFerociousBeast'': While it's not clear how old the Ferocious Beast is, he appears to be relatively physically mature. However, he acts more like a 4-year-old, and 6-year-old Maggie is far more levelheaded and responsible in comparison.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheMarvelousMisadventuresOfFlapjack'': Captain K'nuckles is also a good example of this in addition to be a huge CloudCuckoolander. He is addicted to candy, throws some tantrums, and sometimes acts Flapjack's age. He is even revealed to be illiterate and can't count to four.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Metalocalypse}}'': Toki Wartooth. He has a teddy bear, eats candy, collects model airplanes, says "Wowee", and has a childish naivety for certain subjects such as sex. He also drinks, swears, and [[spoiler:goes on the occasional [[PsychopathicManchild murderous rampage]]]].
* ''WesternAnimation/TheMidnightGospel'':
** Clancy, for how eloquent he seems to be, proves to be horrifically self-centered and immature when things don't immediately go his way.
** In "Taste of the King", Glasses Man talks about lofty ideas, but treats his assistant like a peon, plays pool and sips coffee while zombies are ravaging his country, and seems oblivious to the gravity of the situation.
** In "Hunters Without a Home", Darryl's hyperfocus on spirituality doesn't stop him from being selfish and petty. He shoves the rock creatures out of the way so that he can get to the front of the line to enter the sleeping giant's brain. Later, Barry accuses Darryl of sleeping with his wife and destroying his marriage while he and Darryl have a childish brawl. Their brawl is so violent that it cracks the planet's crust, destroying it.
* ''WesternAnimation/MoonbeamCity'': Canadian-born police officer [[TheRival Rad Cunningham]]. [[PsychopathicManchild So]]. [[NotAllowedToGrowUp Very]]. Much, to the point that it actually becomes weaponized by several characters in multiple episodes in order to resolve the plot.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Motorcity}}'': Texas ''and'' Tooley. When the former is telling the latter about "his" exploits, Tooley even lies down like a kid would.
* ''WesternAnimation/MrBogus''.
* ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'': The main characters are all responsible young adults, more or less, setting aside when they need to be relatable to young children. That said:
** Rainbow Dash is entirely a mare version of Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog and [[WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons Bart Simpson]]. She's [[LeeroyJenkins reckless]], [[GenkiGirl impulsively immature]], [[DramaQueen a bit of a drama queen]], [[TheGadfly a big prank master]], [[SmallNameBigEgo a cocky and near egotistical athlete]] [[BadassBookworm as well as being a geeky overexcited fangirl of her favorite novel and pegasus based weather team]]. She is by far the only pony of the main six who truly acts like a {{Tomboy}} with no consideration for thinking things through maturely in situations that are dangerous or risky. She and Pinkie Pie make up the team of [[ManChild Woman Children]] that rather have fun on missions with Twilight than stay serious and focused.
** Pinkie Pie [[GenkiGirl acts like an excitable 6-year-old]] and seems [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} incapable of holding a serious conversation or actually reading the mood]]. She can be surprisingly neurotic and [[InnocentlyInsensitive insensitive]] whenever events aren't as exciting as possible or if she isn't getting the kind of attention she wants. [[spoiler: This is all curious, in that she gets married in the future and has a child. She's the only one of the Mane Six to canonically do this]].
** Rarity has DramaQueen tendencies that are usually PlayedForLaughs, but, at their worst, they'll cause her to lock herself in a room and refuse to come out like a petulant child and sometimes breaks down and cries with little provocation. Her younger sister can hold it together a lot better than her most of the time.
** Princess Luna tries to assert an air of cool authority, but it doesn't take much for the mask to break and this trope to come out. Endlessly enthusiastic about everything, she has a HairTriggerTemper and will sulk endlessly if she doesn't get her way. She is desperate for authority, but tends to resent it when it is actually given to her. Appropriately she [[OneOfTheKids gets along very well with children]].
** Rainbow Dash's parents, Bow and Windy, come off as this with their obnoxious gloating they do for their daughter, making it clear where Rainbow got her childish tendencies from, despite her embarrassment at them.
%% * Oggy from ''WesternAnimation/OggyAndTheCockroaches''.
* ''WesternAnimation/OKKOLetsBeHeroes'': A minor character on the show is Pird, a neurotic ButtMonkey bird-man who escaped from a scientist's lab but, [[BornAsAnAdult since he's technically only a few years old]], he struggles to live in the outside world and is always pestering others (mostly Enid) for help learning basic things like ''how to wash his hands''.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheOwlHouse'':
** Besides her AnnoyingYoungerSibling tendencies towards Lilith, Eda often acts like a troublemaking teenager, [[spoiler:something that Principal Bumps lampshades when he forces her to clean up her former messes in exchange for enrolling Luz into Hexside]].
--->'''Eda:''' ''[grunts]'' I don't wanna do this!\
[[spoiler:'''Bump:''']] There's the whiny rebel teen I remember.
** Despite being the "older, responsible" sibling, Lilith has various bouts of immaturity and would regularly [[NotSoAboveItAll throw tantrums, retaliate and act out]] whenever Eda gets one over her. While learning glyphs from Luz, Lilith acts like an excitable schoolchild, calling Luz "Miss Teacher" and generally behaving like a TeachersPet.
%% * Kyösti Pöysti in ''WesternAnimation/{{Pasila}}''.
* ''WesternAnimation/PAWPatrol'': Mayor Humdinger became one in the show's later seasons. This is perhaps best shown in "Pups Save Baby Humdinger," where Tracker dreams that Humdinger turns into a baby after witnessing him throwing a tantrum over not getting any coconut milk.
* ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb'': Dr. Doofenshmirtz is physically in his 40s, but mentally around 10.
* ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls'': The Mayor eventually wounds up becoming this.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:R-Z]]
* ''WesternAnimation/TheRealGhostbusters'': Ray Stantz, one of the lead characters, is a downplayed example of this trope. While mature and perfectly capable of looking after himself, Ray still possesses an almost childlike idealism and enthusiasm for life. Ironically, this actually helps the Ghostbusters lure the Boogieman when they learn that the monster is attracted to people who think like children.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Recess}}'': Principal Prickly may think he's a ChildHater, but many episodes show that he is rather childish himself. He gets into arguments with his equally immature older brother Paul, he gets absolutely flustered when things don't go his way, and, in one episode, he is [[HypnoFool accidentally hypnotized to think he's a first grader]]. The movie confirms that he is a ManChild because he misses his own childhood.
* ''WesternAnimation/RegularShow'':
** Pops save the fact that he's the opposite of LiteralMinded.
** Rigby is this too. He may be 23, but he acts like an out of control teenager most of the time.
** Mordecai, to a lesser extent. He's a lot more level-headed and less impulsive than Rigby, but just as eager to slack off and do childish things.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheRidonculousRace'':
** Surfer dudes Geoff and Brody are 19-years-old yet they both act like children.
** Owen becomes this in the show as he is also 19 yet he carried a teddy bear around with him until he accidentally ate it.
** Daters Ryan and Stephanie are said to be in their 20's yet they both throw tantrums and it was exaggerated after they became the haters in which their insults towards each other were immature.
** Rock and Spud, who form the Rockers team are said to be in their late teens yet they are implied to be rehearsing music in the garages of their families and Spud in particular is shown to be very lazy and motivated by junk food such as Choco oinks.
* ''WesternAnimation/Rugrats1991'': Most of the [[AdultsAreUseless adults]] are portrayed as more absent-minded than one would expect a parent with an infant to be, but Stu Pickles ranges from "immature adult" during arguments and short feuds with his older brother Drew, to what can only be described as "borderline mentally deficient" at seemingly random times:
** In "[[Recap/RugratsS3E12CuffedTheBlizzard The Blizzard]]," he runs into the kitchen and screams "Yippee, school's been cancelled!" after a big snowstorm, at which point Chas has to remind him that he's 35-years-old and doesn't have to go to school anymore.
** In "[[Recap/RugratsS2E2ChuckieVsThePottyTogetherAtLast Chuckie Vs. the Potty]]", he rushes to get Chuckie's potty while Chuckie is in the bathroom -- Didi tells him to "put it down," and Stu puts it down right where he's standing... outside of the bathroom. Even Chuckie probably realizes that the potty doesn't belong in the hallway.
* ''WesternAnimation/SidneyTheElephant'': The title character is 44-years-old, but often shown to be extremely childish in demeanor. The short "Sidney's Family Tree", for example, has him beg other animals in the jungle to adopt him as their son. He is eventually [[InterspeciesAdoption taken in by a monkey]], much to the dismay of her husband.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'':
** Homer Simpson. In the first two or three seasons he was just the stereotypical BumblingDad but eventually developed into, in the show's own words, "a drunken, childish buffoon". A combination of low intelligence, emotional immaturity brought on by a neglectful father and absent mother, and simple CharacterDevelopment turned him into this trope.
** Bart encounters a former student of Springfield Elementary who's basically an adult version of him. He never matured beyond being a 10-year-old prankster. He still lives with his mother well into his late teens, doesn't have a job, dresses like a child, and spends all his time and energy on childish pranks. Bart attempts to help him by getting him a job for Krusty The Clown, but what really turns him into a mature person is [[spoiler: getting a girlfriend.]]
** It's a RunningGag that Kearney Zzyzwicz, one of the three recurring "teen" bullies (the bald one), is an adult in his 20s who has been HeldBackInSchool multiple times, has been married and divorced, and even has a son who attends Springfield Elementary with him. Regardless, he spends most of his time hanging out with two teenagers, bullying younger kids and pulling pranks on school authorities.
** Principal Skinner is in his late 40s and still lives [[MyBelovedSmother under his mother's thumb]]. When he's fired from the elementary school and there's no reason for them to antagonize each other anymore, Bart [[IntergenerationalFriendship turns out to be the closest friend he has]].
* ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'': [[AdultsAreUseless Most of the adult cast]] qualifies, but Randy Marsh deserves special mention. He is a LethallyStupid man with a need for constant self-gratification, jumping on the latest trend whenever possible. This is especially ironic, considering his son is the OnlySaneMan[[note]]along with Kyle[[/note]].
* ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'':
** The titular character. He is old enough to hold down a job and live on his own, but he doesn't drive, doesn't pay the electric bill, doesn't have any money of his own, and has been referred to as a kid on multiple occasions.
** Patrick Star even more so. He is more than happy to play dumb games with [=SpongeBob=]. He has his own home, but unlike [=SpongeBob=], he doesn't even have a ''job''. TheMovie also shows that he's worn the exact same GoofyPrintUnderwear for three years straight.
* ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'':
** Amethyst. Some of her antics are reminiscent of a teenager acting out. Her yelling "I don't wanna!" when Garnet tells her to go back to the temple in "Tiger Millionaire" is a good demonstration. [[spoiler:She's actually quite young in comparison to the other Gems, having been created on Earth instead of hailing from the Gem Homeworld.]] This is further enforced by the fact that during Greg's flashback in "Story for Steven" she's much younger in appearance than she is now.
** Greg was definitely this in his earlier years, refusing to work to support himself and mooching off other people for food. He's matured somewhat, but still prefers living in a van to a house and keeping a relatively unkempt appearance.
** [[spoiler:"Jungle Moon"]] reveals [[spoiler:Pink Diamond]] to have been this, trying to get attention from [[spoiler:Yellow Diamond]] in the same manner a child would do with his or her elder and throwing a tantrum if she doesn't get what she wants. [[spoiler:She eventually grows out of it.]]
** [[spoiler:White Diamond]] accuses Steven of acting like a child [[IResembleThatRemark while throwing an epic tantrum]] over [[spoiler: Steven not being Pink Diamond]].
--->'''[[spoiler:White Diamond]]:''' You're just a-a-acting like a CHILD!\
'''Steven:''' I ''am'' a child. [[ArmorPiercingQuestion What's your excuse?]]
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Superjail}}'': The Warden. Even lampshaded by the Mistress.
* ''WesternAnimation/SuperNoobs'':
** Memnock and Zenblock look like brutes as they are aliens and virus warriors who are apparently in their early 20's yet they are shown to be very immature and childish. They both love going to amusement parks to ride rollercoasters, went on a kids monorail ride at the space zoo, become very excited when going on rides, especially in situations that were not rides at all. They went trick or treating, love eating candy and junk food, went to a build a bear knockoff store to craft their own plush puppies, played with dog toys, played a cooking sim video game meant for little kids, which they got addicted to, throws tantrums, and [[VitriolicBestBuds fought and bickered at each other very immaturely]]. Of course some of this is understood as they have a desire to understand Earth culture and Memnock in particular appears to be the more childish of the two as he seems to [[CampStraight not care whether a particular activity is masculine, feminine, or childish]]. Zenblock in particular also likes taking naps and sleeps with a teddy bear in his arms occasionally.
** General Blorgon, Hedies, and Tecknut also have shades of this as they love Earth culture as much as Memnock and Zenblock do.
** Count Venamus literally goes into his 12-year-old self in "Noob vs Venamus 12". Because of this, he gets fascinated with light up sneakers and candy.
* Robin, Beast Boy and Cyborg from ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitansGo'' All three are rude, egotistic, mean-spirited, whiny, destructive, immature jerks. Robin cries like a baby when something as little as his "staff" breaking happens.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Thundercats}}'': At the beginning of the series, Lion-O was placed as a child in a stasis pod to keep him from aging while Jaga drove their spaceship to the third planet. His pod was damaged and functioned imperfectly, so unlike the others he still physically matured inside and he eventually left it as an adult, thus making it a case of JustifiedTrope.
* ''WesternAnimation/TimeSquad'': Buck Tudrussell is shown to be a man somewhere in his 30's yet he frequently acts much like the age of his 8-year-old time traveling partner, Otto, as Tudrussell sometimes throws tantrums, sleeps with a teddy bear, and sucks his thumb. His other time traveling partner, Larry 3000 even calls Tudrussell a man child in " Ex Marks The Spot".
* ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama'': Brick also has shades of this as he is a military cadet who refuses to leave anyone behind but he ScreamsLikeALittleGirl, wets his pants, and sleeps with a night light on.
* ''WesternAnimation/UncleGrandpa'': The titular character takes this to extremes. He's shown be a [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} very bizarre]] man who lives in his large R.V. and takes children on adventures to solve their problems.
* ''WesternAnimation/WeBareBears'': Grizzly and Panda. Growing up as orphans with extremely poor guidance towards adult life makes them as this. Grizzly generally acts childish and can be seen playing with children's toys at times, focusing more on socializing than responsibilities, while Panda acts as a PhoneaholicTeenager who often whines and complains about his medical problems and love life. Ironically, they are biologically the ''oldest brothers'' and usually have the youngest brother Ice Bear provide for their food and money. Interestingly enough, it's more pointed out with Panda since Grizzly and Ice Bear are protective of him.
* ''WesternAnimation/WorkItOutWombats'': Although Mr. E tries to present himself as serious, and is a well-functioning adult for the most part, he has his childish moments. He's a man in his thirties who doesn't know how to paint a square. Also, he throws a child-like tantrum when he is unable to make a perfect one the first few times he attempts to draw one, complete with TantrumThrowing and InelegantBlubbering.
* ''WesternAnimation/XiaolinShowdown'':
** While Jack Spicer is a teenager, some of his traits are more appropriate for a young child, such as his [[ScreamsLikeALittleGirl girly screaming]], constant whining, and he was revealed to often sleep with a night light on. He also plays with the Shen Gong Wu as if they were toys. This is mostly due to the fact that his rich parents did not raise him as much as they should as they often send him money in a vain attempt to make up for this.
** Kimiko's Dad is a child on the inside as she told her friends. When we meet him, he's a exciteable man who is also a very famous video game developer (which may explain a bit.) Despite this, he knows when to foot his foot down (like when he discovers his new associate is actually Pandabubba, a mobster. He is ''zombified'' as a result.)
* ''WesternAnimation/YoungJustice2010'': Captain Marvel really is a kid who is transformed into an adult body when he uses his powers. However, none of the teens know his real form, so he definitely comes off as being this trope.
