1This is a list of recommendations made by Tropers for Platform/YouTube videos. Feel free to recommend your favorite videos here, but please follow the preferred template found below.
2
3Bear in mind that recommendations are subjective, so if you want to question or discuss any given recommendation you should do so on the appropriate discussion page. If you want people to watch the video you're recommending, you should put some effort into writing the description. Sell us the video, but don't inflate it; we're striving for some quality stories here, so if you have difficulties with making it look interesting, maybe it wasn't that good in the first place.
4
5In addition, you will notice that the tropers have signed their recommendations. Somebody has to vouch for them, so if a given recco isn't backed up by anybody, it will be [[Administrivia/TVTropesGlossary zapped]]. After a few samples, you will be able to note the interests of the tropers recommending them, and judge whether you might be also interested in a certain video.
6
7Reviews of videos are encouraged, but if you choose to write one, please make it substantive, and give specific details about what you liked / disliked in the video. If you want to give a video a thumbs-up without writing a full review, you can add your troper handle to the Recommended by line.
8
9Below is the required format for a recommendation. If you're making a new page, or adding to an existing one, copy that text into the page.

25[[WMG: Videos]]
26This section includes the genres of Anime Music Videos ([=AMVs=]), regular music videos, video blogs, interesting one-sided philosophical discussions, and "oral personal essays" about any given topic. Really for recommendations where the individual uploads are more interesting than everything a single user has put on [=YouTube=].
27
28%%There were empty sections here, which is just poor form. Don't add sections unless you're going to put something in them!

34* ''Notable Works:'' Producers and Directors: What Do They Do? ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQMBq_fxMO0]]), and A Park Bench Public Apology ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnzN3zDKFEI]]) are some of their best stuff.

38* ''Notable Works:'' Any of his literals: Tron legacy ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCmeQaXuFig]]), and Assassin's Creed ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKrtbUinWOU&feature=relmfu]]) are said to be his best two.
39* ''Comments:'' He has a whole network of videos, from a random daily vlog, to a gamer blog where he commentates how he plays games. On his most famous channel (Tobuscus) he normally posts his literals or other random videos. He's become so famous, in fact, that he makes his living off of the Platform/YouTube videos. At least, that's what he says.

43* ''Notable Works:'' Creates mind-blowing music videos by taking clips from 1080p movie trailers, and editing them together to "flow" with whatever music has been chosen. ("I make music move.") The result is an exhilarating experience for the viewer. Best works: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gP_Q2myNWo The Apple Tree Feat. The Glitch Mob]] (the first installment of Project Inertia; uses a wide variety of mostly well-known, mostly action films, and four songs by The Glitch Mob), [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xev9CqOTku4 DubWars: First Strike]] (the second installment of Project Inertia; described as "The Apple Tree's twisted twin sister", uses 13 dubstep songs. Due to the nature of dubstep, the clips used are almost exclusively [[DarkerAndEdgier dark, edgy, and/or gory]] and taken from sci-fi and horror movies; also due to the nature of dubstep, there is occasionally some NarmCharm), [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVmaB33Dd2E Virtualis Magikus - Harry Potter Music Video feat. Virtual Boy]] (uses "Hedwig's Theme (Virtual Boy Remix)" with clips from the first seven Harry Potter films), [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_FYoB3Epw4 TRON: Legacy - "Rerezzed" - Feat. The Glitch Mob]] (a Tron-inspired video using The Glitch Mob's "Animus Vox"; earned praise from ''Tron: Legacy'' producer Sean Bailey; unlike in the other videos listed here, the original audio is left in most of the clips, which in this case actually enhances the experience), and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lN_MSyrq6-U Rerezzed: Legacy - The Glitch Mob / Daft Punk Derezzed Remix Music Video]] (another Tron-inspired video using Daft Punk's "Derezzed (The Glitch Mob Remix)"). Be warned that The Apple Tree and [=DubWars=] are both fifteen minutes long, so either watch them one song at a time (which diminishes the experience) or set aside some time.
44* ''Comments:'' Khameleon808 says about The Apple Tree, "It is not intended to tell a story. I didn't edit it that way. I wanted to relate sound to motion. So each and every cut you see was picked for a reason." This applies to all his videos. The Apple Tree inspired [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsUi8RhZrQ4 this Harry Potter tribute video]], which uses The Glitch Mob's "Animus Vox"; the quality isn't ''nearly'' as good but it's still worth a watch.

48* ''Notable Works:'' They have a list of their Top 10 episodes of all time (to this date), which you can watch [[https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLC824C61B3E10A329 here]].
49* ''Comments:'' Three friends (currently), Paul, Nick, and Josh play a game for about 30 minutes, and see if they would continue playing the game, or game over and stop playing right then and there. The show is edited for a 10 - 15 minute show, and it shows off their best moments. If you like WebVideo/GameGrumps, you might like this show.

54* ''Comments:'' Brian and Nick make comedic videos that start with a simple premise, often something that could plausibly happen in real life. Invariably, however, these premises are either [[ExaggeratedTrope taken to the extreme]], or derailed into something bizarre.

59* ''Comments:'' With a different take on Let's Plays, WebVideo/BrainScratchCommentaries is a commentary group that talks over pre-recorded gameplay, allowing them to focus on discussing the game and their experiences of it without being distracted by playing the game live... most of the time. Even with the advantage of editing, the crew face many shennanigans as they try to stay as competent as possible. A diamond in the rough, in my opinion.

64* ''Comments:'' Ever wanted to check out some creepypastas but were too scared to do so? Ever wanted to see horrible gaming pastas ripped into in an utterly hilarious fashion? [[RuleOfThree Ever wanted]] to see obscure games and bootlegs that are just plain strange? [[OverlyLongGag Ever wanted]] to learn about what happened to [[WhatCouldHaveBeen the stuff that was going to be in a video game]]? Ever wondered what happened to [[{{Vaporware}} those games that just disappeared]]? WebVideo/{{Yuriofwind}} is here to be a [[TheCynic cynical]], [[DeadpanSnarker sarcastic]] mofo and tear bad creepypastas to shreds. He also does interesting videos on game betas and games that weren't released, as well as other games that are obscure or bootlegs.

69* ''Comments:'' Omgarrett is a Let's Play person from the Netherlands. He plays a lot of {{Licensed Game}}s, some of which [[TheProblemWithLicensedGames are pretty bad]]. He has a great voice and his senses of humor and sarcasm are even better. His DeadpanSnarker tendencies and general demeanor while playing games is what makes him such a great [=YouTuber=]. If you get a chance, check out some of his works.

73* ''Noteable Works:'' Their summaries of [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A-3rHQ70Pag The Odyssey]], [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gp8JGQk0CFQ Dante's Inferno]], and [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_KZqzk7p2uY Edgar Allen Poe's Tales of Mystery and Imagination]].
74* ''Comments'': This woefully underrated channel takes reading classic books and makes it fun. By summarizing each book they read (complete with hilarious and amazing Chibi art) and telling you ''why'' you should care that these books are still read today, they accomplish something that most teachers today cannot: be relatable, funny, interesting, and insightful all at the same time.

79* ''Comments:'' Markiplier; A surreal combination of Horror Games, Absurd Comedy, and a baritone voice that makes everything sound amazing. Seriously, he can make a JumpScare comedic. As well, he does playthroughs on many, many games, ranging from his [[https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4E8CE9E89554302E Drunk Minecraft]] series to his [[https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3tRBEVW0hiBMoF9ihuu-x_aQVXvFYHIH Happy Wheels Highlights]]. 84* ''Comments:'' [=TheRealNinjaBoy=] is a man who likes to play [[GameMod rom hacks]] of many games, but especially ''VideoGame/SuperMarioWorld''. He also plays ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'' and ''VideoGame/{{Terraria}}'' sometimes, in addition to other games rarely. He's rather goofy and indulges in {{Angrish}} sometimes, but he really seems to enjoy playing his games. Just don't send him any Kaizo.

89* ''Comments:'' [=SuperMarioLogan=] makes videos featuring ''Franchise/SuperMarioBros'' plushes and ''Melissa and Doug'' puppets, known as "SML Movies" or "SML Shorts". The SML Movies center on Mario and his friends Black Yoshi, WesternAnimation/{{Shrek}} and [[Franchise/ToyStory Woody]], and to a lesser extent Tony the Tiger and Mr. Pig. They can also focus on the misadventures of Bowser, his SpoiledBrat son Bowser Junior and a chef named Chef Pee Pee, who is working for them, as well as Junior's friends Cody (a Magikoopa who's also a raging homosexual) and Joseph (Junior's Koopa Troopa best friend).

96LetsPlay/{{Chuggaaconroy}} ([[https://m.youtube.com/user/chuggaaconroy link]])
97* ''Recommended by'': [=Buckbuck2=]
98* ''Notable Works'': His most notable work is probably [[https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_sYhAj0WXRM2_xfO1O6P040gwIwlhqcP his Let's Play of Xenoblade Chronicles]], solely for how long it is.
99* ''Comments'': Chugga's one of the most in depth Let's Players out there. He focuses mainly on Nintendo games, and outside of April Fool's, he has never played a game on the channel that cannot be played on a Nintendo console. He knows the games he plays inside and out, and isn't afraid to show it. More in depth commentary about him can be [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/LetsPlay/Chuggaaconroy found on his page]] on Website/ThisVeryWiki.

103* ''Notable Works:'' [[https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbS0HkS8Xsorrdr3pPk4lP80tUAzfyxP1 Cooking with Boris]] for Slav recipes, [[https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbS0HkS8XsoqeOrwFfcPjsZXpTFmvBIEv Slav lifestyle]] for how to live like a Slav.
104* ''Comments:'' The self-titled "Shashlik King" Boris takes all the reasons why Russians (and Eastern Europeans in general) are a goldmine of [=YouTube=] humor and explains it in a very tongue-in-cheek way. If you ever wondered why Russians are always seen squatting or only wear tracksuits, this is the place to go. His cooking recipes are also a good way to start to get introduced to Eastern Europe cuisine and his gaming videos keep the "Slav" trend all the way through. If you like Russian Internet humor, this is the place to go. Explained by a Slav man with a think accent and and unearthy love for mayonez.
