-->-- ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgaAzSFOvGE Real Fans of Genius: Yaoi Fangirl]]''

A [[{{Fangirl}} female otaku]] who enjoys anime and manga featuring [[YaoiGenre handsome men engaged in homoerotic relationships]]. The main difference between a Yaoi Fangirl and GuyOnGuyIsHot is that the former are interested in homoromantic/homoerotic fiction and/or [[SlashFic fanfiction]] and/or {{Shipping}}, whereas the latter enjoy watching men make out. You can pretty much assume that all yaoi fangirls think GuyOnGuyIsHot, but not all women who think GuyOnGuyIsHot are yaoi fangirls.

The Japanese name for Yaoi Fangirl is ''fujoshi'' (a pun that translates loosely as "rotten girl"). Because of how commonly this archetype is shown in Otaku media when they want to have fangirls show up, the term is often misused to mean "female {{Otaku}}". Otaku girls who like to imagine themselves in straight relationships with fictional boys rather than shipping them with other boys tend to be called "yumejoshi" ("dreamer/delusional girl", derived from "yume shousetsu", a Japanese term for a type of SelfInsertFic) instead to clear up the confusion. Male fans of yaoi are called ''fudanshi'' (loosely, "rotten man"), and tend to also read [[BaraGenre Bara]]. In any case, Yaoi Fanboys are vanishingly rare in fiction, and if one appears, he is most likely depicted as a {{crossdresser}} or [[HaveIMentionedIAmHeterosexualToday desperately clarifying his sexuality]] if shown as masculine. On the other hand, they're way easier to find in Boy's Love itself or works leaning on those themes, with the fanboy commonly used as an AudienceSurrogate (in the sense that he's enjoying a genre he "shouldn't") or comparing the yaoi he reads with the romance right in front of his face.

Yaoi Fangirls are somewhat infamous due to the subsets that think HetIsEw and engage in {{ukefication}}. In series where Yaoi Fangirls are seen, at least one joke will be made that involves the yaoi fangirl's [[CovertPervert dirty imagination]] and at least one of the male characters. This often goes hand in hand with said yaoi fangirl having a (usually rare for fictional girls) {{nosebleed}}.

Obviously TruthInTelevision, particularly in UsefulNotes/{{Japan}}; notably, RealLife yaoi fangirl stereotypes changed over the years, particularly in the West, with the stay-at-home moms who watched ''Series/StarTrekTheOriginalSeries'' being deemed as the origin for this arcetype. In UsefulNotes/The2000s, yaoi fangirls would often be associated with Platform/DeviantArt and [[Platform/FanFictionDotNet FanFiction.net]] and would be stereotyped as overly-vocal and -fervent "teenybopper" types in their early teens (or with the maturity of young teenagers), often with a tendency to subject perceived female "love rivals" to [[DieForOurShip spiteful treatment]]. Later, in UsefulNotes/TheNewTens, the stereotype became less pointed and, well, less of a stereotype. Aside from becoming more associated with Website/{{Tumblr}}, it became more common to see increased integration with (and activity from) the real-life LGBTFanbase[[note]]who often genuinely want to see more representation of themselves in media, as opposed to liking [[Manga/{{Naruto}} NaruSasu]] merely because "it's so kawaiiiii"[[/note]] as well as many fans growing up, leading to a generally quieter and more mature fan archetype often in its late teens to mid-twenties. While the stereotype that Yaoi Fangirls tend to engage in DieForOurShip towards fictional female characters died down, it saw another shift late into the 2010s after a few rather notorious incidents of death threats being sent to the ''authors'' of such works for not fulfilling the wishes of the fangirls.

Although most of them don't mind showing their interest, it's not infrequent for fujoshis (and possibly fudanshi) to be bullied and deal with negative stereotypes, causing most of them to be {{Closet Geek}}s.

This character type is less common in anime than the CosplayOtakuGirl, due to this character type having less appeal to male anime fans. With the rise in otaku characters in TheNewTens, both character archetypes tend to be combined and even expanded into including yumejoshi characteristics due to the aforementioned misconception that "fujoshi" means "generic otaku girl".

[[folder:Anime & Manga]]
* ''Manga/{{Adekan}}'':
** Kojiro's little sister Aguri is implied to be one, frequently catching Kojiro and Shiro in compromising positions and laughing when Kojiro stutters in embarrassment and denies it.
** While Aguri mainly seems amused by her big brother's antics. Wakabayashi's older sister, on the other hand, is a full-blown fujoshi who disguises herself as a fortune teller and recommends lotion sumo as a solution to the main male characters' personal problems in a side story.
* ''Manga/AiKora'':
** Yukari Tsukino is secretly part of a yaoi doujin group, as Maeda discovers when he goes to visit her during summer break.
** A few show up in a scene where Haiji is competing with Ayame to win Maeda's love. "Beautiful male love!" indeed.
* Yaoi fangirls occasionally pop up in ''Manga/AiOreLoveMe''. One noticeable scene is where Ran is getting a bit too close to the {{Bifauxnen}} Mizuki, which causes a couple of girls near-by to fangirl over them.
* Sazanka from ''Anime/AquarionEvol'' is a yaoi fangirl and even has the ability to corrode things.
* In ''Manga/AsobiAsobase'', Hanako Honda discovers Kasumi Nomura writing smutty yaoi novels, to the latter's great embarrassment. When Hanako questions why Kasumi likes [=BL=] despite being an androphobe, Kasumi says that 2-D stuff is fine since they aren't real men and they don't hit on women.
* ''Manga/{{Barakamon}}'': Tama is a closet fan of Yaoi and frequently ships the male members of the cast, notably her OTP Hiroshi and Seishu. She imagines a guy-only LoveDodecahedron around them and has a HeroicBSOD over finding out that there is not much [[OneHeadTaller size difference]] between them. [[BerserkButton She also goes berserk whenever she thinks someone found her out]].
* Meirin from ''Manga/BlackButler''. Especially evident when she nosebleeds upon witnessing a naked guy (who has the default mindset and body of a dog) being held in Sebastian's arms and licking his face. She also tends to get quite excited whenever she suspects Sebastian is flirting with Ciel, despite the fact that she has a crush on Sebastian herself.
* ''Manga/BLMetamorphosis'' is about shy 17-year-old Urara Sayama, who's a longtime BL fan but [[ClosetGeek tries to hide it from most people]], and her unlikely IntergenerationalFriendship with Yuki Ichinoi, a 75-year-old widow who buys a volume of BL manga out of curiosity and finds herself enjoying it.
* Chizuru Honshou from ''Manga/{{Bleach}}''. She certainly ''loved'' seeing Ichigo on top of Renji in the school hallway, during a certain NotWhatItLooksLike [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3knNSbSU6y0 scene...]]
* ''Manga/ButterfliesFlowers'': Choko's fellow {{Office Lad|y}}ies, who all know about the department's WholesomeCrossdresser, are totally cool with him getting all touchy-feely with their hot boss.
* Not in the anime, but in one of the ''Anime/CodeGeass'' sound dramas, there is a scene where Milly teases Shirley about being turned on by the idea of Suzaku and Lelouch getting it on. Shirley had already gotten a nosebleed and passed out, so we don't get to hear her response to this. LampshadeHanging, much, writers?
** C.C. gets in on this in one of the ''Knight''/''Queen'' short manga compilations. She tells Lelouch that he owes it to [[NoFourthWall the show's female fans]] to put on some fanservice with Suzaku, and (while acting as a DatePeeper) tries to get him to do things like hold Suzaku's hand or gaze longingly into his eyes. When Lelouch orders Suzaku to undress, C.C. gets flustered...but when it turns out he's just offering Suzaku a nicer change of clothing, she throws one of her cue cards at his head.
* Nijino-sensei in ''Manga/ComicGirls''. She has been that since her high school years and is still a fujoshi -- for example, she ships characters for {{shonen}} manga written by a certain Wing V, which happens to be one of her students.
* In ''Manga/CuteXGuy'' whenever the tall and handsome Jun and the short and cute Mitsuru meet after school they attract these like flies despite not being a couple because they look so much like a {{Seme}} and an {{Uke}} out on a date. Jun making flirtatious comments towards Misturu doesn't help, nor does the fact that Jun does have a crush on Mitsuru but they still aren't a gay couple as Jun is really a [[GenderBender gender bent]] [[GenderBenderFriendship girl]].
* Lenalee in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IDokZbuekI&feature=related this]] scene from episode 94 where she blushes upon seeing Lavi glomp Allen in the anime in ''Manga/DGrayMan''. Not only that but afterwards, she keeps on staring at them together as though she's totally ''fascinated''. Kind of makes the fact that most real-life yaoi fangirls [[DieForOurShip hate her]] pretty hilarious.
* CosplayOtakuGirl PluckyComicRelief Kiko in ''Anime/DarkerThanBlack'' only sticks with her job because she can watch BoysLove anime at work. In the OVA, Mayu is revealed to be even crazier than Kiko, writing the resident ChickMagnet into her smutty yaoi fanfic.
* ''Manga/DNAngel'':
** In episode 14 Satoshi rescues Daisuke from the pool and gives him CPR after he nearly drowns with all of the girls who were watching getting embarrassed/excited and calling it a "boy to boy kiss!"
** The Yaoi Fangirls made a comeback when Daisuke fell ill at school and Satoshi carried him bridal-style to the infirmary. One of their female classmates is blushing and gushing in the background that "They look so good together!!", weirding out the boy standing next to her.
** In episode 17 Daisuke and Satoshi are at the beach on a school trip and Satoshi helps dig Daisuke out of the sand. Some girls watching end up [[MistakenForGay mistaking them for being gay for each other]]. Daisuke tries to deny it and asks Satoshi to agree with him but Satoshi smiles and says "Who knows?" causing the girls to squeal.
** In episode 19 Daisuke and Satoshi are cast as the princess and prince of a school play respectively and it's said that they have to perform a love scene. The girls hearing this are shown to blush and get really excited.
** In episode 20 there's a lot of girls in class that are shown to smile and look really excited when Satoshi and Daisuke perform a love scene for the play.
* Nearly every female otaku introduced in ''Manga/DontBecomeAnOtakuShinozakiSan''. One in particular, Ayu, can only get over her ShrinkingViolet personality when discussing her favorite Yaoi pairings.
* After Kaneru from ''Manga/DoujinWork'' gets introduced to yaoi {{doujinshi}} works as inspiration for her own material, her imagination tends to go rampant whenever she sees males interact.
** In the manga, when drawing nude pictures of Justice, Tsuyuri drew a Justice and Hoshi yaoi scene... Much to Justice's distaste, considering he despises Hoshi.
* Excel Excel of ''Anime/ExcelSaga'' fantasizes about the men she is infatuated with (Il Palazzo and Key the Rock Idol) being a couple in one episode.
* In ''Manga/FairyTail'', the only thing that can make Juvia more of a SmittenTeenageGirl around Gray than she usually is (and that is quite saying something), is when he gets some ShipTease ([[MistakenForRomance at least what is ship tease from her point of view]], not necessarily from the audience's point of view) with another guy, usually Lyon. In the most recent OVA, she even has a hefty {{nosebleed}} when she thinks Gray is kissing with another guy. It is quite noteworthy with how grumpy she usually gets when Gray is just talking to other girls.
* ''Manga/FruitsBasket'' has a swarm of these, albeit subtly. When Yuki makes a public reference to the number of times Hatori (the family doctor) has seen him naked, the girls are seemingly horrified... and simultaneously strangely fascinated. Also, Tohru imagining what would happen if Yuki and Kyo got along...
* ''Fudanshism'': Most of the cast are Yaoi Fangirls except for the protagonist, who only has an interest in it as far as the girl he has a crush on is a huge fan of it... and the fact that he can only meet her when pretending to be a Yaoi Fangirl. His sister seems to also be a YuriFan too.
* The title character of ''Fujoshi Rumi''. [[spoiler:Yoko Matsui, a popular girl who Chiba rejected is secretly one, too.]]
* ''Manga/TheGeekExHitman'': Viviana is a self-described fujoshi who collects BoysLove manga and [[ShipperOnDeck ships Marco with Andre]] once they become friends. This causes her to try to become a ShippingTorpedo when female {{yakuza}} underboss Mei falls for Marco.
* ''Manga/{{Genshiken}}'' features both the "double" otaku Kanako Ohno (seen in the illustration above), who is into both {{Cosplay}} and yaoi (of [[BaraGenre muscular, middle-aged men]]), and the self-doubting Yaoi Fangirl Chika Ogiue, who initially is ashamed about her fetish but gradually grows to accept it. The continuation introduces three more, including a crossdressing yaoi fanboy.
* In ''Anime/GirlsBeyondTheWasteland'', Teruha is obsessed with this initially. She attempts to have them make this type of game but later settles for obsessing over the female game characters as if they were in this genre.
* Reiji of ''Manga/{{Gravitation}}'' is much conflicted between her feelings for Shuichi and her feelings for his relationship with Yuki.
* ''Manga/HanaukyoMaidTeam La Verite'' episode 5. Ikuyo Suzuki likes to make yaoi doujinshi in her spare time and even drags the others with her to Comiket to sell them. HilarityEnsues, but in the original manga it turns out that she has repeated problems with actually selling the doujinshi.
* ''Manga/HaruhiChan'':
** Haruhi's movie script in episode 9 is centered around a {{Meido}} {{tournament|Arc}}, with Kyon and Itsuki winning and becoming a couple, which causes Mikuru to become confused and stop thinking.
** There was another time when Kyon confesses his love to Itsuki (ItMakesSenseInContext) and it [[HeroicBSOD breaks Haruhi's brain]].
* ''Manga/HayateTheCombatButler'':
** Izumi Segawa walks across her butler (and big brother) Kotetsu confessing his feelings of love at first sight to a forcibly [[EvenTheGuysWantHim crossdressed Hayate]] (of course, not realizing that the CatGirl he was so attracted to was in fact a male). Izumi, knowing that Hayate was in fact male, told the two to "continue, and just don't mind me".
** Nagi Sanzenin is one too, apparently.
* Hungary, the {{Bokukko}} from ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers''. This even extends to her liking to watch how cute guys hit on ''her husband'' Austria. In the real world, Hungary is "a mecca for porn videos" (WordOfGod points that out in the Author's Notes), so it sorta makes sense. Filming on location is dirt cheap and a lot of people see it as a way of striking out which lead to an explosion of Hungarian porn stars in the '90s. There's one exception, though; once she caught France looking lewdly at an oblivious Austria and, um, [[FryingPanOfDoom it didn't go well for him]]. In her defense, she was told to hit France by [[JesusTaboo someone else]].
* The main character in ''Manga/TheHighSchoolLifeOfAFudanshi'' is a male variety. He regularly buys BL manga, participates on BL sites, and fanboys over any guy-on-guy interactions.
* ''VisualNovel/HigurashiWhenTheyCry'':
** ''Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai'' has Furude Rika (yes, that one) talking about going to Comiket to pick up some Keiichi/Ooishi, in the preview at the end of episode 7.
** A few of the girls seemed a bit ''too'' interested in Keiichi and Satoshi interacting in the first ''Kira'' special.
* The manga ''Manga/HikaruToHikari'' has Hikaru's neighbor Aya and ClassRepresentative Sumitane are quite interested in Hikaru's feelings towards Yuuto, with Aya especially enjoying being TheTease about it.
* Episode 3 of ''Literature/HumanityHasDeclined''. It starts with just [[OneLetterName Y]] but progresses to the equivalent of a Comiket's worth.
* Biscuit from ''Manga/HunterXHunter'' is seen reading a BoysLove magazine- and drooling to it- in the manga, with guys on the cover [[ShoutOut that look oddly similar]] [[Manga/YuYuHakusho to Teenage!Sensui and Itsuki]].
* Mayotama from ''Manga/ICantUnderstandWhatMyHusbandIsSaying'' is a RareMaleExample , although he is [[WholesomeCrossdresser crossdressing]]. He draws and sells his own yaoi... [[BigBrotherAttraction based on fantasies of him and his older brother]].
* Kondou in ''Manga/IDontLikeYouAtAllBigBrother''. She even blackmails the main character Shuusuke into buying more for her after she threatens to rip up his girly magazine or show it to his family/sister.
* ''Manga/ILoveYuriAndIGotBodyswappedWithAFujoshi''.
** Hoshina is the eponymous fujoshi. She loves yaoi to the point where all the posters and pillows in her room are of men she wants to see get involved with each other. At one point she even (half-seriously) suggests offing all women so men can only get it on with each other.
** Yoshida's mom is an extreme example in that she has dedicated the entire basement of her home (which Yoshida didn't know about) to yaoi doujinshi. Dozens of large bookcases all dedicated to guy-on-guy love.
* Multiple examples in ''I, Otaku'':
** Played with when Tencho, the super-{{otaku}} owner of the ''Otaku Headquarters'' store who despises all non-otaku, tests Sota's girlfriend for true otaku nature by groping Sota in front of her. When she fails to respond with appropriate enthusiasm, he brands her "worse than 3-D" and tries to get Sota to dump her.
--> "I mean, honestly, she really ought to at least get hot and bothered over homos, or something. You know... as a woman. It's as if she's clueless."
** Played straight with rival store-owner Shigeto's college crush: Tencho correctly diagnosed her as a potential fujoshi and turned her on to BoysLove manga, which caused her to lose interest in "3-dimensional men" (to wit, Shigeto), thus earning Tencho Shigeto's undying hatred.
* ''Manga/IThinkOurSonIsGay'': The main character's colleague Higuchi is a huge fan of ''Koi-Men'', a popular in-universe gay romance manga and TV series. She likens their AmbiguouslyGay coworker Toono to the story and, unfortunately, sometimes treats him like a spectacle behind his back.
* Yuriko from ''Manga/IWantToBeAWall'' is introduced from the get-go as one of these. It's eventually explained that, as an [[UsefulNotes/{{Aromantic}} aro]]-[[UsefulNotes/{{Asexuality}} ace]] woman, she enjoys romances without women because she doesn't feel obligated to project herself onto any of the participants.
** We later meet Yuriko's friend from college, Momoya, a bisexual Yaoi Fan''[[GenderInvertedTrope boy]]'', who ends up giving Yuriko's husband, Gakurouta ([[TheBeard who is a gay man himself]]) an [[DiscussedTrope in-depth explanation on why the genre appeals to certain kinds of people]].
* Aikawa, Usagi's editor in ''Manga/JunjouRomantica''. Her input greatly influences the content of the BL novels Usagi pens on the side. She also rather enjoys the fact that Usagi has found a male lover, and never helps Misaki out of sexual situations when he asks for it.
* ''Manga/KannagiCrazyShrineMaidens'':
** Takako doesn't openly admit it, but in private she tends to have {{nosebleed}}-inducing thoughts about the boys in the art club.
** Akiba is revealed to be one of the elusive yaoi fan''boys''.
* Fumiko, Sanpeita's mother, in ''Manga/KemekoDeluxe''. As flashbacks reveal, even in high school, she was drawing yaoi manga frequently. Though she keeps calling it "homo-dachi" (homo-friends) manga instead of the more common "boys' love", to the annoyance of her editor.
* ''Manga/KarakuridoujiUltimo'' has Yaoi Fangirl Kiyose, who blushes when she sees her two friends Yamato and Rune together.
* The protagonist of ''Manga/KissHimNotMe'' is a yaoi fangirl who suddenly finds herself being romantically pursued by four boys who she'd much rather ship with each other than with herself.
* ''Manga/LuckyStar'':
** Hiyori is both this trope ''and'' a YuriFan; while it's usually her YuriFan tendencies that are on display, at one point she accidentally uses the terms "{{seme}}" and "{{uke}}" when describing positions in dodgeball and she's mortified when she realizes what she just said.
** Kagami is a subversion; when she notices a very steamy [[Literature/FullMetalPanic Gauron/Sousuke]] {{doujinshi}} at Comiket, she hesitantly takes a peek at it, but she [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bpoo7NZAPWI finds it "too intense" for her taste]].
** ''Lucky Star a la carte'' is half new Konataisms and half Kagami transforming into one of these.
** The OccidentalOtaku Patricia and the tomboyish teacher Hikari-sensei are also yaoi fangirls. This is largely an InformedAttribute for both of them, since they're rarely seen actually enjoying BL or shipping male characters.
* Yumine of ''Manga/MagicOfStella'' is directly declared to be this at the opening sequence. In the first episode, she becomes enchanted when she talks about a near IndirectKiss between two male students in the Illustration Club.
* Kimi Sato from ''Anime/MakenKi'' has a thing for this; her introduction scene has her reading yaoi manga before being interrupted by Haruko, and in response she complains, timidly arguing that the boys in her manga were about to kiss.
* Possibly Candice from ''Manga/{{MAR}}''. The Ghost Chest arc hints that she’s this since she doesn’t really seem to mind Phantom feeling up Alviss at all. She only minds if Alviss is trying to kill him.
* Inside the realm of the dub, Hikaru is given this as an additional character trait in ''Anime/MartianSuccessorNadesico''. She also [[ShipperOnDeck gets her inspiration for her fanfictions by the male characters around her]].
* The ''Manga/MidoriDays'' manga has a small story in which Seji Sawamura's childhood girl-friend sees him again. Seji finds out that she's now an accomplished doujinshi artist... who draws [[HoYay yaoi relationships between canon characters]]. Even at the end of the story, she draws another comic where "You (Seiji) and Master Yori get together at last! <3"
* ''Manga/MonsterMusume'' has [[OurZombiesAreDifferent Zombina]] and [[ChineseVampire Shiishii]], the ''[[LiteralMetaphor literally]]'' "rotten girls".
* The whole point of ''My Girlfriend's a Geek'' / ''Fujoshi Kanojo''.
* In ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'', Konohamaru uses a variation of the Sexy Jutsu to make two shadow clones transform into a nude Sasuke and Sai locked in a very suggestive pose. This gains for the first time a perverted reaction to the technique from a girl, Sakura -- [[HypocriticalHumor who was just before criticizing Naruto and Konohamaru about being perverts themselves]]. Of course, the anime had to ruin it by ending when Moegi hit Konohamaru for the shadow clones of two girls.
* Yayoi, the shortest of [[ThoseTwoGuys Those Three Girls]] in ''Anime/MyHime'', {{squee}}s the loudest when she envisions Takumi and Akira sharing a room in the boys' dorm. What she ''doesn't'' know is that [[spoiler:Akira's really a girl [[WholesomeCrossdresser concealing her true gender]] to allow herself to fulfill her HIME mission better. What makes it even funnier is that [[BodyguardCrush she DOES fall for Takumi]] [[MoeCouplet and they end up hitched]].]]
* Haruna Saotome in ''Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi''. At the start of chapter 183, she even drags Negi to a convention with her. Of course, he [[ChildrenAreInnocent is too innocent to realize what he's picking up]].
-->'''Negi:''' What's this? This man is naked and...\
'''Chisame:''' DON'T YOU DARE TURN ANOTHER PAGE!!!\
'''Haruna:''' It's kind of hard to get regular people to understand our hobbies. Right Chisame-san?\
'''Chisame:''' Then don't friggin' bring 'em-!!
** The {{Doujin}} in question is ''[[http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/56/vlcsnap2011031920h09m23.png Teacher in despair]]'' from ''Manga/SayonaraZetsubouSensei'' which has been seen in that universe carried by Harumi Fujiyoshi; it's implied that [[SequentialArtist she drew it]].
* Mio from ''Manga/{{Nichijou}}'' is a [[CovertPervert closet]] Yaoi Fangirl; she also draws her own doujins and will go to extreme lengths to stop anyone from seeing them.
* The second season of ''Literature/NyarukoCrawlingWithLove''[='=]s anime adaptation, ''Haiyore Nyarko-San W'', has a CanonForeigner named Tsuruko who's part of an alien doujin circle and wrote a yaoi book about the series' male lead Mahiro. Over the course of the season, she makes several attempts to meet him in person... never realizing that he'd be '''far''' from happy to see her (his reaction to the doujin was utter horror and disgust, followed by [[KillItWithFire burning it]]).
* ''Manga/OuranHighSchoolHostClub'':
** Renge and several of the regular customers might qualify, since this is the [[{{Twincest}} twins' gimmick]].
** Much later, Tamaki is annoyed when [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Kasanoda]] stops by to "visit" Haruhi, since the club hosts women. The Vice President ignores his complaints, indicating the firestorm of {{Squee}} behind Haruhi; all the girls see is the normally grouchy delinquent shyly attempting to talk to a [[WholesomeCrossdresser short, cute]] [[{{Bifauxnen}} boy]].
** Kyoya's older sister Fuyumi seems very attracted by the possibility of two young men on vacation together.
** The entirety of the Haruhi Fan Club apparently ships "[[{{Bifauxnen}} him]]" with Tamaki, [[spoiler:and are overjoyed when they finally get together]]. Less so once they find out Haruhi's secret.
* In ''Anime/PleaseTwins'', the girls who go on to become [[ThoseTwoGuys Those Three Girls]] are introduced watching through a window as a gay guy flirts with/teases the (very unamused) main character, and give commentary that sounds exactly like many a [[SlashFic slash]] fandom discussion.
* In ''Manga/{{Plica}}'', the lesbian title character mentions to Misa, a woman she's interested in, that there's an LGBT film festival coming up to see if Misa seems interested (and thus, if Plica has a chance with her). Misa says she might want to go... to see the movies about pretty boys.
* ''Manga/PrunusGirl'': After her attempts to get Maki's attention were foiled by [[WholesomeCrossdresser Aikawa]], the girl from the first chapter went on to become a rabid shipper of Aikawa and Maki, as revealed in an omake. Complete with before and after picture.
* Ito from ''Anime/{{Punchline}}'' has a yaoi manga lying around her apartment and her computer wallpaper is from the manga.
* [[{{Yonkoma}} 4koma]] series ''S.S. Astro'' has Nagumo Yuko, a teacher who frequently pairs off her coworkers. She's one of the main characters and tries very hard to hide her doujinshi activities from her childish friend and coworker Maki Izumi.
* One ''Manga/SailorMoon'' doujin {{Omake}} about the girls going to Comic-Con has Rei going off to buy all the Yaoi she can find.
** In the [[Anime/SailorMoon first anime]], this is gender inverted: Usagi finds out that Rei has a magazine whose cover features a... weird looking man who seems to be a cross between Music/MichaelJackson and a DragQueen: a Creator/TakarazukaRevue magazine. Of course, that brings up some ''[[YuriFan other]]'' implications...HilarityEnsues.
* The aptly named Harumi Fujiyoshi of ''Manga/SayonaraZetsubouSensei'' is a yaoi fangirl who draws manga in her spare time and ships men together on occasion. Her room has several posters and doujinshi of [[ShoutOut characters from other anime]] in homoerotic situations and she ends the last episode of ''Zoku'' reading a manga with the main character and another random guy having bondage sex.
* In ''Anime/StarDriver'', it turns out that Wako's a [[CovertPervert closet]] Yaoi Fangirl. Jaguar, on the other hand, is much less covert about it.
-->'''Jaguar:''' Wako, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=770mj99ECGw&feature=related that fantasy]] was ''tres bien!''\
'''Wako:''' ''[[ImagineSpotting ...How does she know!?]]''
* In ''Manga/StoryOfADumbPrefectAndHighSchoolGirlWithInappropriateSkirtLength'' there is an entire Manga club so obsessed with it that they see it ''everywhere'', even in works where it's clearly not present at all. As soon as there are two male characters, they will ship them regardless any blatant evidence of the opposite.
* Yoko of ''Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann'', most prominently when Kamina comes up with the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOTlJRcNS_g bright idea]] of CombiningMecha.
* Hokuto, Subaru's sister, from ''Manga/TokyoBabylon''. She just ''loves'' pairing Subaru with Seishiro, and teasing Subaru about it. She frequently encourages Seishiro in his pursuit of Subaru. [[spoiler:All because she sincerely wants her brother to live his life for something more than family obligation. [[FromBadToWorse It backfired horribly]] when "Sei-chan" turned out to be the Sakurazukamori and reached DownerEnding extremes when Hokuto tried to "fix" it with a BatmanGambit that included [[MyDeathIsJustTheBeginning her own]] [[HeroicSacrifice death]].]]
* The title character of ''Tonari no 801-chan''.
* Isogai from ''Manga/TheTyrantFallsInLove'' is suspected by fans to be a Fudanshi, since he never hits on Souichi but takes a keen interest in his relationship with Tetsuhiro, even gossiping about it with Souichi's little sister.
* Akane "{{Ota|ku}}" Kikuchi of ''Manga/WastefulDaysOfHighSchoolGirls''. While she writes shoujo manga, she becomes giddy on interactions between men to the point that she'd look as if she was OffModel.
* ''Manga/TheWorldGodOnlyKnows'' subverts this with Shiori when {{Bifauxnen}} Yui confesses to Keima. Shiori, not knowing Yui was a girl, went extremely red.
* Narumi and Hanako from ''Manga/WotakoiLoveIsHardForOtaku'' are both yaoi fangirls but to varying degrees. Narumi is more often shown to be this, as she frequently refers to herself as a fujoshi in private, ships male characters together, and draws BL {{doujinshi}} to sell at Comiket for extra cash. Hanako is also a yaoi fangirl and is shown to enjoy reading BL manga, even deliberately reading explicit BL when her boyfriend Tarou is around just to mess with him. One chapter even centers around Narumi and Hanako disagreeing over who the {{Seme}} and {{Uke}} are for a particular ship.
* ''Manga/XxxHolic'':
** Yuuko loves to tease Watanuki about his closeness with Domeki and suggests multiple times that maybe Domeki is the one destined for him instead of Himawari. She isn't just trolling, though, Watanuki literally ''needs'' Domeki [[spoiler: and all of his male descendants]] to stay alive.
** And to a lesser extent, possibly Himawari herself. Whenever Watanuki and Doumeki interact (read: bicker), she always comments on how they're both so cute and how close they are.
* ''Manga/YamadaTaroMonogatari'': Chuusai, Suguira's friend. She seems to love the idea of pairing Taro with Suguira (including her imagining them together naked) and even passionately tells Suguira that she'll support him in his crush on Taro.
* The ''entire'' female student body in ''Manga/YourAndMySecret''. Due to hijinks relating to the body-switch premise of the manga, Momoi (in Uehara’s body) jumped on stage during a school production to stop a kiss between Uehara (in her body) and Senbongi and said she was jealous of all the time Uehara got to spend with Senbongi. All the girls in the audience got flustered, and the male student body president spent the whole night mass-producing yaoi manga of the two, which all the girls were shown reading and buying multiple copies of. Later, when Senbongi rebuffs the advances of some girls by saying he’s interested in someone else, they excitedly ask if it’s Uehara, and say they’d encourage such a relationship.
* ''Manga/YourLieInApril'': Kashiwagi Nao is questioned in the anime's final episode by Tsubaki about her knowledge of romance, where she says that her knowledge comes from her collection of Boys Love doujinshi. In the manga, there is a gag 4-koma strip where Kashiwagi fantasizes a gay relationship between Watari and Kousei.
* ''Manga/ZettaiBLNiNaruSekaiVsZettaiBLNiNaritakunaiOtoko'': The protagonist is a subversion of this, he thoroughly reads Yaoi manga, but not because he particularly enjoys, but to study the rules through which this worls works. In "VS. fundashi", the protagonist gets caught by a boy named Mayama, who seems to be really big into Yaoi manga, reading a yaoi manga. He knows he can't deny or agree without the possibility of being outed as a man that reads BL and raising a flag for a possible romance with Maya, so he explains it away by saying that he read it to get closer to a girl at work. Maya turns out to be the BL author of the manga.

[[folder:Comic Books]]
* The titular character of ''ComicBook/{{Empowered}}'' is one of these. Much of her collection of doujinshi is based off the other superheroes, much to their horror. The term "fujoshi" is also mentioned.
** The male superheroes change their minds as soon as they find out that the doujins are written by girls, much to Emp's chagrin.
** Ninjette to Emp: "You're ready to touch yourself to ineptly written gay fanfiction about people you don't even like -- [[YouNeedToGetLaid you seriously ought to look into getting laid, okay?]]"
* In the ''ComicBook/XWomen'' one shot, ComicBook/KittyPryde phases through a yacht and ends up catching two men in bed, in the middle of making love. Needless to say, she exits the boat and ends up falling in the water giggling and blushing.
* In ''ComicBook/TomorrowStories'', the First American's sidekick U.S. Angel writes ''Series/StarskyAndHutch'' slash fic.
* ''Series/DoctorWho Ongoing'' has an issue in which Amy and the Eleventh Doctor [[FreakyFridayFlip switch bodies]]. Rory, being [[SingleTargetSexuality Amysexual]], doesn't care what she looks like, which leads to [[http://www.abload.de/img/14t3uic.jpg this page]] right after they've switched back. Amy doesn't seem to mind.
* The cover of one ''Vertigo: Winter's Edge'' has [[ComicBook/TheSandman1989 Death of the Endless]] playing with action figures of [[ComicBook/{{Hellblazer}} John Constantine]] and [[ComicBook/{{Transmetropolitan}} Spider Jerusalem]], and looking as if she's about to make them kiss.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Fan Works]]
* Internet example: fanfiction.net. If yaoi fangirls were dragonflies, this site (the ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'' section in particular) would be a summer pond the size of Texas.
** Forget fanfiction.net, Livejournal is where it's at. The thriving community of [[http://evergrnterrace.livejournal.com/171051.html anonymous kink memes]] there lives and breathes yaoi - though het and yuri are around, the yaoi by far outstrips it on just about every single kink meme.
** Just go to the [[http://community.livejournal.com/jent_fanfics/ Johnny's Entertainment]] fandom for awhile. THERE IS NO HET... ALMOST EVER.
** [[http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m7caw7vHfs1r8f41x.png If this doesn't qualify Tumblr as a yaoi fangirl, I don't know what will.]]
** Platform/ArchiveOfOurOwn ([=AO3=] for short) seems to be the newest playing field for the fangirls - the tagging system makes it really easy to find exactly what you're looking for.
* ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers'' fanfic ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11886910/1/Gankona-Unnachgiebig-Unità Gankona, Unnachgiebig, Unità]]'': Hungary paying ''trillions'' to get footage of Germany, Italy, and Japan getting it on is definite proof of this.
* The sheer bewildering tonnage of Literature/{{Discworld}} fics where the canonically ascetic and asexual Lord Havelock Vetinati is paired off with just about every other male character, usually the Film/DirtyHarry police chief Sam Vimes. Even more bewildering, as canon strongly hints (without confirming) that Vetinari's long-standing romantic interest is definitively heterosexual - the vampire Lady Margalotta.
* ''Fanfic/MyImmortal'': Tara Gilesbie. DEAR GOD, Tara. This applies to her [[AuthorAvatar character]], Ebony, too. Tara's actually a rather weird case. While she vividly expresses an approval of Harry x Draco, in the actual story they don't come even close to emotional intimacy [[spoiler:other than in the orgy at the end]], and she even grows appalled at the idea of either of them [[InsaneTrollLogic cheating on her with each other]]. Which in itself would actually be a rather clever commentary on yaoi fangirl hypocrisies.
* Nala in ''Fanfic/TheLionKingAdventures'' is jokingly implied to be this. In ''Shocker's Revenge'', she witnesses a fake scenario created by Shocker where [[{{Fanservice}} Simba and Haiba kiss.]] She ends up ''liking'' it.
-->''[Nala and Shocker watch Simba and Haiba making out]''\
'''Nala:''' Simba? And Haiba? They're...?\
'''Shocker:''' ''Shocking'', isn't it? I never knew two male cubs could... feel so strongly for each other.\
'''Nala:''' I can't believe them! Next time I see Simba and Haiba, I'm going to give them what they deserve!\
'''Shocker:''' Excellent. You're finally learning, Nala. Come with me, and I can help you get what you desire.\
'''Nala:''' Yeah, yeah. Just after I've finished watching this. It's kind of hot.
* It is entirely weird to see a straight friendship in VideoGame/SuperSmashBros when you have Marth, Link, and Ike as the protagonists on a fiction. It's so bad that yaoi fangirls only LIVE to make them go gay for each other.
* Michikyuu Kanae in ''Fanfic/KyonBigDamnHero''.
-->"I didn't hear that story!" Kanae said, giggling herself, a tiny blush coming to her cheeks. "Ooh, Sempai with another boy! Such a naughty thought!" Her eyes turned distant and her blush deepened. "Hum, Sempai and Koizumi-san..."
* In ''Fanfic/HarryPotterAndTheMethodsOfRationality'', a Slytherin girl claims that [[BurnTheWitch Muggle Yaoi Fangirls get burned at the stake]]. A Gryffindor girl responds: "That can't be right! There wouldn't be any Muggle girls ''left''!" (Hermione is left speechless by this exchange.)
* In ''Fanfic/TheOfficialFanfictionUniversityOfMiddleEarth'', many of them land there, but they'll be very disappointed.
* Almost any ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'' fanfiction in which a gay relationship is supported, nine times out of ten the couple will be avidly supported by hordes of squealing fans, often lead by Tsunade.
* Hitomi, the pink Ranger in ''Fanfic/PowerRangersGPX'', is heavily implied to be one in the main universe and confirmed in an alternate universe side story, and her status is mostly PlayedForLaughs. Her PornStash gets discovered by a new Ranger, which traumatizes the poor bastard. Her friend Maria, the Yellow Ranger, is also implied to be one, but she's also AmbiguouslyBi.
* The early portions of ''Fanfic/TheInfiniteLoops'' makes Sakura into one of these. This is implied to be the result of her [[GoMadFromTheRevelation less-than-stable mental state]], as she will forcibly get the men together.
* ''Fanfic/WeissReacts'':
** The eponymous Weiss seems to ship [[Anime/CodeGeass Lelouch/Suzaku]]. Also, Yang, in addition to her YuriFan tendencies.
** In the ''Franchise/FireEmblem'' SpinOff ''Fanfic/LucinaReacts'', Sumia ships [[VideoGame/FireEmblemPathOfRadiance Ike/Soren]] and writes fanfic about them.
* In ''Fanfic/BetweenMyBrotherAndMeMorsOmnibus'', Dawn Fujiki (yes in this world she's actually the little sister of Yusaku Fujiku, just run with it) is a ''huge'' shipper of Yusaku and Ryoken along with Specter and Takeru, often squealing at them "playing paddycake" and accompanied by Max (a GenderFlip version of the trope). It's gotten to the point where the two have had a bet as to when all four boys will have a ''[[APartyAlsoKnownAsAnOrgy paddycake party]]''. Dawn can also notice that there's sexual tension between Yusho Sakaki and ''Zarc''.
* In ''Fanfic/HawkmothGetsAReference'', to lure out the Akuma [[ShipperOnDeck Shipmaster]], the heroes try to shout out phrases that are counteractive to her ships. [[GroundhogDayLoop In the second loop]], Vipereon says that he ships Adrichat (Adrien x Chat Noir), which would be against Shipmaster's ships of both Adrinette and Ladynoir. Ladybug gets a {{Nosebleed}} after thinking about it, and then Shipmaster charges towards Vipereon demanding all the details. [[ScrewThisImOutOfHere Viperion turns back time]], uses another loop to recover from the ordeal, and lets Chat do his original lure statement[[note]][[ObliviousToLove "She's just a friend"]][[/note]] then vows to take any reference of Adrichat [[LetUsNeverSpeakOfThisAgain to the grave]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Films -- Live-Action]]
* The movie ''Film/RunFatBoyRun'' has one for a few seconds. Dennis and his friend Gordon tumble around in a taxi, and Gordon's hand accidentally lands on Dennis' arse. Then the taxi stops next to a pretty girl who sees them like this, and then flirtatiously waves at them. Dennis seems rather confused/offended, while Gordon keeps his hand in place and smiles back at her.
* In ''Film/ThePinkPantherStrikesAgain'', Clouseau mounts Dreyfuss' body and attempts to give him CPR after the latter falls into a lake. Two older women view this and one calls Clouseau a pervert while swinging her purse at him, but the other seems rather giddy at the whole spectacle.
* Creator/GregoryPeck (!) in ''Film/TheGunsOfNavarone''.
-->"The plot went through so many twists that Gregory Peck finally submitted his own version to Carl Foreman: 'David Niven really loves Anthony Quayle and Gregory Peck loves Anthony Quinn. Tony Quayle breaks a leg and is sent off to hospital. Tony Quinn falls in love with Irene Papas, and Niven and Peck catch each other on the rebound and live happily ever after.'"
* "How to Date an Otaku Girl" is basically about what it's like to date a yaoi fangirl.
* In ''Film/ThePrincessDiaries2RoyalEngagement'' (which is a Disney movie aimed at pre-teen girls, just so we're clear), there is a scene where Mia and her best friend Lilly are looking at prospective princes. Mia remarks that one prince shown is cute, to which her bodyguard Joseph replies, "His boyfriend thinks so too." Mia and Lilly's reaction is... enthusiastic.
-->'''Mia and Lilly, in perfect unison''': *punch the air* Right on!
* Rita in ''Film/TheWaterboy'':
-->'''Rita:''' Is there a girl you're seein'?\
'''Bobby:''' [[LiteralMinded Seein'? Uh, I see a lot girls... I see lot of guys too.]]\
'''Rita:''' I think that's sexy, you ever been with a guy and a girl at the same time?
* Discussed in ''[[http://haphazard-stuff.blogspot.com/2014/04/hardbodies-1984-review.html Hardbodies]]'' when Hunter suggests that bi guys are better at picking up hot chicks or [[TitleDrop "hardbodies"]] than straight guys are:
-->'''Scotty:''' You guys fags?\
'''Hunter:''' Yeah. I'm the Queen of France and these guys are the D'Angelo sisters. Come on Scotty, we're perfectly straight. That's the problem. We're too straight. All we're interested in are hardbodies and we want you teach us how to get them.
* ''Film/NationalLampoonsVacation'': Christie Brinkley's character [[FreudianSlip subconsciously indicates]] that she prefers to sleep with bisexual men based on how she fondles her green beer bottle in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACErRwaQ04c this scene]]; [[http://hyakinthia.blogspot.com/2007/08/homosexuality-and-color-green.html green]] is the original gay color and ''of course'', the bottle is [[SomethingElseAlsoRises phallic]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Literature]]
* Maureen in ''Literature/TheBaneChronicles'' wants [[spoiler:Magnus and Alec]] to get back to together because she's a fan of their relationship.
* Suruga Kanbaru of ''Literature/{{Bakemonogatari}}'' is a fan of BL, and in the light novels it's mentioned that there are some BL novels strewn around her room. The anime adaptation takes this even further, as she's shown to have an enormous collection of issues of ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barazoku Barazoku]]'', a now defunct {{bara|genre}} magazine. Interestingly enough, she's attracted to girls (though her behaviour towards Koyomi [[AmbiguouslyBi suggests she may actually be bisexual]]), but then again, there are many lesbian yaoi fangirls.
* In ''Literature/CaptainVorpatrilsAlliance'', Tej and Ivan are trying to come up with ways to get a divorce. When infidelity is brought up, Ivan balks at the idea of Byerly sleeping with Tej. When Tej hints at Ivan and By sleeping together, By's LoveInterest Rish murmurs she'd love to see that.
* ''Literature/TheConquerorFromADyingKingdom''
** Pina of the Cultural Academy is an author who famously writes yaoi fiction about the very real boys at the Knight Academy. Pina elucidates Yuri, the main character, on what she's been writing by providing him with a sample to read. Yuri is rather disgusted to find he is the main protagonist in much of her work.
** Princess Carla is such a fan that Yuri can clearly see her walking around in the open with the books on display. She even offers him a copy to read when he points out she's carrying porn around in public. She corrects him and calls it literature. He has no interest in reading porn starring himself.
* ''Literature/{{Durarara}}'':
** Erika Karisawa, who happily and loudly ships pretty much any two men that so much as breathe on each other (including her friends. Kadota is not amused at finding out he's among her yaoibait). It doesn't help that she tends to CrackShip...
--->'''Erika:''' Hmm, which one is better -- Fans/Trolls or Trolls/Fans?
** She had shown a particular liking for a [[FoeYayShipping Shizuo/Izaya]] pairing as shown when Shizuo says he's going to Izaya's place (to murder him...) and she sparkles with [[BlushSticker blush stickers]] saying that he must love him. Everyone (Celty and Kadota's group) cuts her off with a [[BigNo big "NO!"]].
--->'''Shizuo:''' I'm off to Shinjuku to murder Izaya.\
'''Erika:''' Hey, hey! Shizu-chan's definitely in love with Izaya. Two guys... Like BL!\
'''Celty, Togusa, Dotachin, and Walker:''' No!
** Also in the second OVA/Episode 25 when Izaya and Shizuo were fighting in the city, there was this exchange.
--->'''Walker:''' ''[Erika giggling in the back of the van while watching the fight]'' What's with you?\
'''Erika:''' Don't you see? Maybe Ikebukuro's number one couple is actually Shizu-chan and... ''[dissolves into giggles]''\
'''Dotachin:''' I really don't want to know.
** Then a few minutes later...
-->'''Erika:''' Shizuo's the attacker! Wait, a role reversal! He's receiving now! Seme! Uke! Seme! Uke!\
'''Walker:''' Karisawa-san has completely fallen into Otome Road fantasies!
* ''Literature/ImTheEvilLordOfAnIntergalacticEmpire'': Starting in the arc where Liam trains under House Razel, there is a RunningGag of women delighting in the close relationship between Liam and Kurt. Liam himself sees it as an opportunity to make money and sell photoshoots. This is in abstract form in the WebSerialNovel version, but the adaptations added Eila to personify this.
* ''Literature/FullMetalPanic'':
** In a novel sidestory, Kaname's a bit ''too'' gleeful about discussing and giggling with her friend about how both Sousuke and Tsubaki are [[{{Uke}} submissive "receivers]]".
** Kyoko is an even more disturbing one, according to the [[http://fmp-misha.livejournal.com/5090.html#cutid1 TSR comedy radio show]] (starring Gauron as their 3rd period teacher). She actually ''ships'' Gauron/Sousuke, to the point where she excitedly mentions that Gauron's attempts to rape Sousuke in front of the class are "fairly erotic" and muses that Sousuke seems to be on the "[[{{Uke}} receiving end]]" (just in case people didn't notice it the [[{{Anvilicious}} numerous times it was mentioned before]]).
* ''Literature/{{Gate}}: Thus the JSDF Fought Here'' has Risa, who has an extensive collection of gay-themed manga, some of it quite explicit judging from one character's reaction after carelessly opening a book. Princess Pina Colada and her companion Bozes also develop great enthusiasm for Japanese "art books."
* Hinako from ''Literature/GoodLuckNinomiyaKun'' and Mayu once Hinako introduces her to yaoi manga. Mayu even tries her hand at drawing some.
* In the ''Literature/HaruhiSuzumiya'' novels [[spoiler:Itsuki claims he acts AmbiguouslyGay and [[HoYay seems to almost be flirting with Kyon]] because he thinks that if he didn't act that way on his own, Haruhi would unconsciously use her power to make him]].
* ''Literature/HighSchoolDXD'': Jeanne and several other girls are fans of a doujinshi called ''Prince x Beast'' that features Issei and Kiba as a gay couple. This really frustrates and annoys Issei who constantly asserts that he is straight and hates any mentions of yaoi.
* Just about every major female character in ''Literature/KyoKaraMaoh'', not surprising in a comedy featuring a male lead and his all-male UnwantedHarem. The trio of castle maids in particular can be seen at several points poring over charts apparently depicting the protagonist's romantic prospects, calculating odds and placing and collecting on bets as events occur and make various pairings more or less possible.
* ''Literature/MayoChiki'' has the Mimamorugai who supported [[{{Bifauxnen}} Subaru]] and Jiro's alleged relationship. Special mention goes to Nakuru who writes novels about it.
* Jeremy from ''Literature/MayTheBestManWin'' saw himself as one before he realized he was transgender. He obsessively watched yaoi anime and read SlashFic and gay romance novels, and dreamed he was one of the boys from the stories. At first he thought he was just a clueless straight girl fetishizing gay men. It took him a long time to figure out that the reason he liked reading about gay boys so much was because he was one.
* Akagi Sena of ''Literature/{{Oreimo}}'', to the point that she makes a full-on homo RPG ''with character designs based on her clubmates''.
* Minori from ''Literature/OutbreakCompany'' is intent on educating the inhabitants of fantasy kingdom Eldant about the delights of yaoi (and looks to be succeeding).
* The short story "Parallels" by Jenni Hill, from the ''Franchise/SherlockHolmes'' alternate universe collection "Two Hundred and Twenty-One Baker Streets" is about a teenaged girl called Jane who is TheWatson to her brilliant detective friend Charlotte, and ''also'' enjoys writing Johnlock AU fanfic, which has made her "internet famous. A little bit". It eventually transpires that [[spoiler: this is partly displacement of her own feelings for Charlotte onto the fictional characters, since she started writing a HighSchoolAU, then scrawled over it that it was making things too obvious and she could never show it to anyone.]]
* ''Literature/{{Shimoneta}}'': It doesn't take long for [[EthicalSlut Ayame]] to notice Gouriki's [[IncompatibleOrientation one-sided crush]] on Tanukichi, though Gouriki remains unaware of it himself. Ayame not only [[ShipperOnDeck ships them]], she and Saotome produce a 10 Vol. doujinshi series about them that quickly becomes popular with the female students at Tokioka Academy. Tanukichi [[KillItWithFire tries to burn every copy]] he finds.
* In ''Literature/StudentCouncilsDiscretion'', the petite, soft-spoken Mafuyu has a just barely concealed interest in having Ken Sugisaki, the male protagonist, getting it on with another guy. In fact, her ''doujins'' feature Sugisaki getting it on with two fictional characters, [[{{Bishonen}} Echo-of-death-nii-san]] and Nakameguro-senpai.
* ''Literature/TrappedInADatingSimTheWorldOfOtomeGamesIsToughForMobs'':
** Marie, [[ReincarnateInAnotherWorld holding over from her past-life]], has fantasies about the five princes around her like this. Since it's a MediaTransmigration story, it's mentioned that the game had scenes teasing it between the male LoveInterests.
** And then there is Cleare, an A.I. whose RunningGag is that she's a CovertPervert. She loves that Aaron is CampGay and secretyl gives him a [[GenderBender sex-change operation]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Live-Action TV]]
* Grace of ''Series/WillAndGrace'' often alludes to liking gay porn.
* Mel of ''Series/FlightOfTheConchords''. Flight of the Conchords is a two-man band, and she's their LoonyFan who has apparently given some thought to fantasies about them together, and what the offspring of the two of them would look like.
* Constable Maggie Habib of ''Series/TheThinBlueLine'' is very keen on the homoerotic aspects of football and in one episode speculates on the relationship between both Literature/{{Biggles}} and Ginger and Franchise/SherlockHolmes and Dr. Watson ("sometimes there's months between cases - what do they do then?"). The somewhat old-fashioned Fowler is horrified.
* In one of the last episodes of ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'', Buffy is sick and tired of Spike and Angel always ragging on each other - she suggests putting them in a room together and have the two wrestle in the nude while she watches (or something to that effect). When Spike seems to like the idea, she excitedly comments that there could be "oil of some kind involved".
** One issue of ''Dark Horse Presents'' had Buffy dream about Angel and Spike getting together, though she isn't pleased by this.
** More fun when you remember that time where Spike said that "[he] and Angel were never intimate -- except that one time."
** Also Harmony in "Crush":
-->'''Harmony''': No threesomes. Unless they're boy-boy-girl. Or Creator/CharlizeTheron.[[note]]In this line, when Harmony says she only does boy-boy-girl threesomes what Harmony means is that she wants the guys to have sex with each other and her ''at the same time'' in her two guy, one girl threesomes. A boy-girl-boy threesome is a two guy and one girl threesome without bisexual contact. A boy-boy-girl threesome is a two guy and one girl threesome with bisexual contact[[/note]]
* The vampire Queen Sophie-Anne, of ''Series/TrueBlood'', gets excited when she sees Bill drink the blood of a handsome, muscular man, and says that she "loves to watch two men together." Later, she suggests to Bill that he and Eric resolve their differences by having sex, and wants to watch.
* ''Series/StateOfPlay''. A gay member of the newsroom mentions he just slept with the man they've been investigating. When he asks if they want him to go into detail the men immediately say "No!" while the female journalists have exactly the opposite response.
* ''Series/{{Supernatural}}'' has Becky, an obsessive fangirl who writes slash fic about the two heroes. And that's just the in-universe example.
* Believe it or not, ''Series/MontyPythonsFlyingCircus'' referenced this in the "Tudor Pornography" sketch (episode 36), where Sir Philip Sidney's wife is reading Creator/WilliamShakespeare's ''Gay Boys In Bondage''.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-ModPbVMq0 The scene in question.]]
* Take a guess as to why [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDsHvq6juEY this MadTV sketch]] is so popular.
* When the main cast of ''Series/RedDwarf'' meet their gender-swapped alternate universe counterparts, Rimmer mentions that the female version of himself, Arlene Rimmer, wanted to make him watch Guy-on-Guy porn in the hope it would interest him.
** Notably, this is a {{Parody}} of GirlOnGirlIsHot - everyone and everything in this universe is gender-swapped.
* Ellen Fox, of ''Series/TheRottenTomatoesShow'', hints at being one when reviewing ''Film/ScottPilgrimVsTheWorld''. She said that she would have preferred Scott's gay roommate to Ramona as the love interest. She then smiles and says 'But that's a different movie.'
* Britta in ''Series/{{Community}}'' episode [[Recap/CommunityS1E12ComparativeReligion Comparative Religion]]. She encourages Jeff to work out his issues with Mike without fighting. (Though it's less active encouragement than relentless mockery of both the incident and her perception of fighting itself as homoerotic.)
* April in ''Series/ParksAndRecreation''.
-->'''April''': "I passed up a gay Halloween party to be here. Do you know how much fun gay Halloween parties are? Last year I saw three Jonas Brothers make out with three Robert Pattinsons. It was amazing."
* Yumeria in ''Series/HikoninSentaiAkibaranger'', who gets ''very'' interested when she sees Akiba Red and the MonsterOfTheWeek being a tad too close in episode 3. She also draws yaoi doujinshi.
* The ''Series/{{Sherlock}}'' episode "[[Recap/SherlockS03E01TheEmptyHearse The Empty Hearse]]" does a TakeThat to this trope when a female member of the Empty Hearse club proposes her theory of how Sherlock survived the fall, which includes Sherlock and Moriarty making out. Anderson cuts her off, pointing out that the club is [[SeriousBusiness not a place for fantasies]].
* Reporter Edwina Bartholomew on ''Sunrise On 7'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m83m6GlRmcc#t=1m52s hints]] that she's one while interviewing A.J. Roach of the Australian water polo team at the [[UsefulNotes/OlympicGames 2012 London Olympics]]:
-->'''A.J. Roach''': It's a great spectacle. Especially guys running around in their speedos, wrestling and pressing up against each other. So it's a good sport to watch.\
'''Edwina Bartholomew''': [[HoYay That sounds like the Greek Olympics]].
* [[OnlyKnownByTheirNickName Flaca]] from ''Series/OrangeIsTheNewBlack'', who says she prefers gay porn since she finds it hotter, and the fact that it doesn't exploit women.
* Implied when a quick peek at Clara's subconscious in ''Series/DoctorWho'' reveals a lot of muscular young men "doing sport."
* Daniela from ''Series/{{Sense 8}}'' was initially (and unknowingly) TheBeard for Lito. When she finds out the truth about his sexuality, she is ecstatic at getting to watch him and his lover Hernando get it on.
* The girls on ''Series/SexAndTheCity'' (especially Samantha) while watching gay porn:
-->'''Charlotte:''' This is gay porn.\
'''Miranda:''' What was your first clue?\
'''Charlotte:''' You said we were watching an independent film. I brought biscotti.\
'''Carrie:''' Relax. I've watched it already, and I'm telling you, this is really funny.\
'''Samantha:''' See, that's the way to do it. No "I love you.", just good old-fashioned fucking.
* Sports reporter Sussanna Collins [[FreudianSlipperySlope unwittingly outs herself]] as one in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4V8vk_camds this clip]].
* Based on an AlternativeCharacterInterpretation, Kris on ''Series/CharliesAngels'' has a thing for bisexual men as evidenced by certain stereotypical characteristics possessed by some of the guys during the third and fourth seasons:
** Season 3: During [[FlashbackEcho a flashback scene]] in "Angel On My Mind", Kris sees her [[http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term-friends&defid=2198424 friend]] Tommy who sports a [[http://straightmendont.wordpress.com/2011/09/14/tan professional tan]] while they're playing the [[HoYay homoerotic sport]] [[http://straightmendont.wordpress.com/2011/09/18/play-volleyball beach volleyball]]. In "Disco Angels", she pairs off with sexy [[{{Disco}} disco dancer]] Mario. Disco has an enduring association with gay men.
** Season 4: Kris hooks up with [[http://everydayheterosexism.blogspot.com/2014/09/bert-convy-spen1970s-nude.html Bert Convy's]] [[WalkingSwimsuitScene speedo clad]] character Paul Hollister in the [[{{Crossover}} crossover episode]] "[[http://everydayheterosexism.blogspot.com/2014/09/love-boatfantasy-island-love-wont-hurt.html Love Boat]] [[http://everydayheterosexism.blogspot.com/2013/01/charlies-angels.html Angels]]" and with male Angel Bob Sorenson in "Toni's Boys" which is [[http://www.charliesangels.org/top-ten-gayest-moments one of the gayest episodes]]. Bob's [[JustForFun/KinseyScaleOfTropes Kinsey scale rating]] is probably a 5 and he and Kris watched [[ChippendalesDancers Arnie the male stripper rehearse]] together.
* ''{{Series/Bliss}}'': At least one episode involves a female character being aroused by spying on a gay male couple.
* ''Series/{{Friends}}'': In one episode, when she reveals that she had a sexual fantasy dream involving a threesome with Chandler and Joey, she notes that at some of the points, she was merely a spectator watching the two of them getting busy.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Manhua]]
* ''Manhua/StarDreamIdolProject'': Ruby is a huge fan of RPS (real people slash). She strongly ships Brian and Leo and even once mocked Siha for being in the way, much to the latter's dismay.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Manhwa]]
* ''Manhwa/AngelDiary'': Several fellow students are passionate supporters of the "romance" between Dong-Young and Bi-Wal. Dong-Young is disconcerted, while Bi-Wal plays along quite gleefully. [[spoiler:Of course, he knows Dong-Young's not a boy.]]
* ''Manhwa/KillMeKissMe'': Que-Min is part of "The Pretty Boy Fanclub" which is about this.
* ''Manhwa/MagicalJxR'': Cho-Ah's aunt, as she writes online yaoi novels.
* ''Manhwa/PigBride'': Si-Joon is always followed around by girls, and later the {{Yaoi Fangirl}}s get excited when they think he's in a relationship with Ji-Oh.
* ''Manhwa/Yureka'': Miella the MC. Her gushing about yaoi angers one of her co-workers so much the he [[DisproportionateRetribution just kills her]].
* ''Manhwa/WitchHunter'': In one omake yonkoma, the author's assistant comments on a very LesYay picture and suggests doing another one, but with guys. She then starts listing possible yaoi pairings, to the author's annoyance.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Music]]
* The entire genre of VisualKei often tends to market to Yaoi Fangirls and Yaoi Fanboys, often intentionally via {{fanservice}} due to the scene's very large population of arguable bisexuals and pansexuals. Examples are too numerous to mention specifically, but Music/XJapan, Music/{{Miyavi}}, Music/{{Gackt}}, and Music/{{Versailles}} are VisualKei artists or bands with pages on Website/ThisVeryWiki and from a quick read of them (much less looking up their stuff) you will find fanservice.
* Music/KodaKumi's song Taboo is about gay love (among other things), the video features Kumi walking in on her 'boyfriend' kissing another guy -- she grins. Also featured in the video for Ima Sugu Hoshii, where she is enraptured by two guys dancing erotically.
* Music/{{Peaches}}' song "Two Guys For Every Girl".
* Music/LadyGaga deserves special mention. Especially considering the video for 'Alejandro' and how she dedicates her song 'Boys Boys Boys' to 'all the gay boys.'
* The popular Music/{{Vocaloid}} song "Magnet" has a "Yaoi Fangirl Song" version: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaLAp0yZpLc&feature=grec_index here]].
** It should be noted that the original Magnet song is used enough for yaoi purposes between any and all Vocaloids, as it's a love song originally written as a lesbian couple.
* Music/CobraStarship's "I Kissed A Boy" (a cover of Music/KatyPerry's I Kissed A Girl)
-->"I kissed a boy, and they liked it.\
Got all the honeys in the club excited."
* In "Younger Men", K.T. Oslin expresses her attraction to bi guys when she mentions [[WorkoutFanservice seeing a runner]] who's wearing [[http://ep.yimg.com/ay/abcunderwear/men-s-side-split-short-14.jpg a pair of tight, short running shorts]] and [[WalkingShirtlessScene no shirt]].[[note]]Bisexual men workout more than straight men (like gay men are), and like gay men bi guys are more extroverted about [[ShirtlessScene baring their chests]] in public and are more likely to wear revealing clothes that show off their lean, hard bodies than straight guys are.[[/note]] The song appears on her ''[[http://www.nndb.com/people/542/000098248/ktoslin01.jpg 80's Ladies]]'' album. On the album's cover are two [[TheIlluminati alleged Illuminati symbols]] of bisexuality. They are the checkerboard table and the purple dress that she's wearing; [[ConspiracyTheorist Conspiracy theorists]] will have you believe that both the checkerboard table and purple dress indicate that she's pushing [[TheIlluminati the Illuminati's]] gay agenda and that she endorses [[GuyOnGuyIsHot male bisexuality]].
** She's about to engage in a [[http://onlineslangdictionary.com/meaning-definition-of/sister-act sister act]] with Barry Manilow, who's [[IfItsYouItsOkay openly gay]] in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWdeAbI4-Ws this cover]] of "Baby It's Cold Outside".
* The Music/RedHotChiliPeppers: Their [[HoYay homoerotic images and behavior]] and appropriation of other gay-culture signifiers, especially the fact that the Chili Peppers [[WalkingShirtlessScene never wear shirts]] has [[{{Fanservice}} led the band to get a lot of serious attention]] from a lot of [[AllWomenAreLustful female fans]].
* Music/PorterRobinson’s single, “Cheerleader,” describes this exactly with the lyric, “and she draws me kissing other guys.”
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Radio]]
* Creator/HowardStern's [[DeconstructiveParody song parodies]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKrXYEmI7fA "Every Homo (Backside's Back)"]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBG4Gmy5CXU "If I Went the Gay Way"]] make light of how the [[HoYay homoerotic images and behavior]] in [[BoyBand boy bands]] are designed to appeal to the [[TargetAudience young female demographic]] when these bands are manufactured.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Video Games]]
* Shiki Misaki in ''VideoGame/TheWorldEndsWithYou'', though it's debatable if that's just her personality in the bonus chapter.
** The Another Day chapter parodies same-sex shipping in general with the blatantly obvious interaction between Neku and Joshua. It's as if the developers predicted they'd become a popular ship.
* The bungee jump instructor from ''[[VideoGame/SamAndMaxHitTheRoad Sam & Max: Hit the Road]]'' flirts openly with Sam and lets him and Max use the apparatus for free because she has a soft spot for [[ShipperOnDeck rabbit and dog couples.]]
* Anastasia Romanova (yes, that Anastasia) of ''VideoGame/ShadowHeartsCovenant''. See her starry-eyed expression at the end of the Man Festival.
-->'''Anastasia:''' Isn't it beautiful? Love comes in so many different shapes and sizes.\
'''Yuri:''' ''(apparently [[{{Squick}} struggling not to throw up]] at viewing the same scene)'' I... I'm not into... that shape.
* EVA from ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid3SnakeEater'' seems to enjoy the ramifications of Ocelot's crush on Big Boss a little too much.
** She also hints that Snake ought to put the move on Raikov.
** However, she also seems to be quite smitten by [[EvenTheGirlsWantHer Boss]].
** Also, the gay relationship between Colonel Volgin and the effeminate Major Raikov (a parody of Raiden from ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid2SonsOfLiberty'').
* Chloe and (to some extent) [[{{Ojou}} Lily]] from ''VideoGame/ManaKhemia2FallOfAlchemy''. Then again, this game makes fun of yaoi fandom in general.
* ''VideoGame/{{Neptunia}}'': Vert is a huge yaoi fangirl. Guess all those FPS/TPS of [[VideoGame/{{Doom}} bald]] [[Franchise/{{Halo}} space]] [[VideoGame/GearsOfWar marines]] and the constant implied homolust being all male have made her a yaoi fangirl. She also has some yumejoshi traits, since she's a fan of otome games, plugging for Creator/{{Otomate}} in particular.
** She's also quite into yaoi VisualNovels, decorating her basilicom with framed screenshots (which have spooked plenty of men out of asking her on a date) and, attempting to sit Nepgear down to play one when she wrongly guesses the latter's a CovertPervert.
* As it turns out, female androids in ''VideoGame/{{Disgaea 4| A Promise Unforgotten}}'' have some interesting encrypted files in their memory banks.
-->'''Android:''' OPEN VAL_FEN_SLASH_V1.DOC... ACCESS DENIED. PLEASE INPUT PASSWORD: ______
** [[spoiler:Fuuka, Desco, and Vulcanus/Artina]], each of them shows the hint that they are interested in the relationship between Valvatorez and Fenrich... Starting when Valvatorez and Fenrich talked to each other about Fenrich's swear under the moon [[spoiler:After Fenrich's HeroicSacrifice for Valvatorez and pretended as if he is dying so that Valvatorez can suck his blood and regain his powers]], the three of them can't help but gossip about their relationship in somewhere near to the end of the game, out of curiosity.
* Nina of ''VideoGame/FireEmblemFates'' often fantasizes about two men together, including fantasizing about men being interested in her own father, Niles. This actually has a bit of {{Irony}} involved: [[spoiler: Niles is the GayOption for the Male Avatar. However, should the player exercise it, Nina doesn't exist. Therefore, she misses out on the ''canon'' yaoi.]]
* Lunalu of ''VideoGame/GranblueFantasy''. It's revealed in one of her Fate Episodes that one of the romance novels she's so fond of centers around a male couple. She also apparently made various paintings of men hugging while naked, which Vyrn [[TheUnReveal somehow assumed to be killing each other]], which Lunalu blames on her art style and lack of good reference. She's also audibly excited at the prospect of being surrounded by various males (unfortunately, her sprite's expression doesn't change to reflect that). Lyria even assumes Lunalu has an eye problem after she mentions [[{{Chuunibyou}} an evil eye]].
* ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfHeroesTrailsOfColdSteel'' and its sequel are full of these. Dorothee, the head of the Thors Military Academy literature club, is probably the most notable one. There's also Princess Alfin, who additionally roped in Elise Schwarzer, the adoptive sister of the game's main protagonist.
* Isabeau from ''VideoGame/ShinMegamiTenseiIV'' is known for her passion for manga, but come ''VideoGame/ShinMegamiTenseiIVApocalypse'', one of the FlavorText files you can read reveals that she's also started to delve into stories about gay romance.
* ''VideoGame/NeedyStreamerOverload'': Taking Ame to certain locations will have her post about buying BL at the place she went to on her private account.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Visual Novels]]
* Koujirou Frau, one of the main characters from ''VisualNovel/RoboticsNotes'' is a {{fujoshi}} who frequently uses terms like "[=DQNs=]" and "tsunderes" along with memes like "What eroge is this?!" and "But I refuse!" She has a collection of thin books and is very similar to her otaku predecessors Takumi and Daru from previous games in their shared ''VisualNovel/ScienceAdventureSeries''.
* [[CovertPervert Mio]] from ''VisualNovel/LittleBusters'' is one of these, serving as something of a quiet MetaGuy for HoYay-ish comments and situations. In an early example, when she sees [[DudeLooksLikeALady Riki]] and [[{{Bishounen}} Kyousuke]] acting close and Riki tells her that they're childhood friends, she smiles and says to herself '[[{{Seme}} Natsume-san]] x [[{{Uke}} Naoe-san]]', before correcting herself and thinking that it works in reverse as well, and tells Riki to cherish their friendship forever. Luckily, Riki has no idea what she's talking about. She also seemed quite interested when [[CoolBigSis Kurugaya]] was deliberately posing herself all over a forced-into-crossdressing Riki, so she may be a YuriFan as well.
* [[SerialKiller Genocide Jack/Genocider Syo]] of ''VisualNovel/DanganronpaTriggerHappyHavoc'' describes herself as a fujoshi, in contrast to [[spoiler:her SplitPersonality Toko Fukawa]]'s seething hatred of anime and manga. A FanTranslation has her call herself a [[{{Pun}} slasher]].
* In ''VisualNovel/UminekoWhenTheyCry'', [[HotWitch Virgilia]] and sometimes [[SugarAndIcePersonality Ange]] are portrayed as this in the side stories and fighting game, though it's PlayedForLaughs and probably not meant to be taken as serious canon.
* In ''VisualNovel/MajikoiLoveMeSeriously'', Miyako often "approves" of the possibility of a relationship between Moro and Gakuto, especially when the former happens to crossdress.
* ''VisualNovel/{{Psycholonials}}'': Protagonist Z. has a highly explicit piece of gay fanart as her phone's unlock screen, and used to be involved in a gay [[RealPersonFic RPF]] shipping community.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Webcomics]]
* Demi of ''Webcomic/DeathBrigade'' is a textbook example of this. It's made obvious at the very beginning of the story when she accepts a job in return for a rare Yaoi manga.
* Captain Jordan Lee from ''Webcomic/{{Skins}}''. She certainly seems quite into it when she walks in what appears to be her male vampire and werewolf teammates about to [[http://lj-phillips.deviantart.com/art/An-Honest-Misunderstanding-362036180 make out]] (they're actually arguing - she just walked in at just the wrong moment.)
* ''Manga/AoiHouse'' features two straight guys winding up in what was supposed to be "Yaoi House," populated entirely by Yaoi Fangirls (and one [[WholesomeCrossdresser crossdressing]] Yaoi fan''boy''), who constantly try to turn them into their "yaoi pets."
* Meji, in ''[[http://www.errantstory.com/2003-02-21/62 Errant Story]]''.
* Jodie from ''Webcomic/{{Loserz}}'' is a fan of [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyX Tidus]] and yaoi, as seen [[http://the-qlc.com/loserz/go/473 here]].
* In ''Webcomic/NamirDeiter'', two girls who realize Isaac knows Charles immediately assume "[[HotForStudent the forbidden love between student and teacher]]," complete with [[http://www.namirdeiter.com/comics/index.php?date=20080110 an appropriately graphic shared fantasy]]. (They're half-right... the student was a female acquaintance of Isaac.)
* Aeris from ''Webcomic/VGCats'' is a big yaoi fangirl. [[http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=126 One strip]] has shown her [[MostFanficWritersAreGirls writing yaoi]] ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyX'' FanFiction (and violently beating her male co-star when he chides her on it). [[http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=221 Another]] has a gay encounter between ''Franchise/StarFox'' characters (with dialog composed entirely of [[DoubleEntendre repurposed lines from]] ''VideoGame/StarFox64'') and is revealed to be a very happy dream Aeris is having.
** [[http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=288 Bill + Tank =]] {{Squick}}
* [[http://treadingground.comicgenesis.com/d/20040122.html This]] ''Webcomic/TreadingGround'' strip.
* Kairi of ''Webcomic/AnsemRetort'' fits this trope for her short lifespan. Seeing how [[FanDumb actual yaoi fangirls]] [[DieForOurShip usually treat her]], that's... ironic, to say the least.
* Zii of ''Webcomic/MenageA3'' [[https://pixietrixcomix.com/menage-a-3/help-a-brother-out has a definite taste for yaoi]], which is likely why gay men are the only group of people [[ThePornomancer she has yet to have sex with herself]] because she'd prefer to just watch. See also the note on spin-off comic ''Webcomic/StickyDillyBuns'', below.
* Shion from ''[[Webcomic/TsunamiChannel Experimental Comic Kotone]]'' [[http://www.tsunamichannel.com/index.php?date=2004-01-26&comic=ExCoKo seems to be one, too.]]
* There was a brief window of time, just before her introduction in the comic proper, when this was practically all that ''[[Webcomic/DanAndMabsFurryAdventures DMFA]]'' fans knew about Regina.
** Also Wildy's spy novel featuring a not-so-subtle {{Expy}} of Jyrras.
* Lisa of ''Webcomic/MechagicalGirlLisaANT'' seems to be one, as evidenced in the MassiveMultiplayerCrossover.
* Marigold, the Otaku girl from ''Webcomic/QuestionableContent''. And she just [[http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1420 contaminated]] Hannelore.
** And [[http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1441 Angus]], awkwardly enough.
** It would seem that [[http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1639 Faye and Dora]] are not immune either.
** The author's notes for one page mention that Dale owns the entire ''Magical Love Gentlemen'' series. He later has a relationship with Marigold, [[BirdsOfAFeather to nobody's surprise]].
* ''Webcomic/NanohaRr'': Much to Chrono's horror, his own mother, Lindy, as well as her best friend Leti are examples of this in the ''Franchise/LyricalNanoha'' {{Fan Webcomic|s}} ''[[http://www.entropymax.com/ Nanoha R'r]]''. Few things are worse than watching your mother celebrate after you told her that you found your male friend pretty, then [[http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/5795/nanorr13translated.png having her discuss with her fellow yaoi fangirl]] whether you're the {{Seme}} or {{Uke}} in the relationship and how to best crossdress you for your role.
* Lin of ''Linburger'' is intensely into this. So much so that she prefers to sit and watch her boyfriend and his male lover together rather than join in.
* ''Webcomic/MegaTokyo'': Kimiko and possibly Yuki in [[http://megatokyo.com/strip/1209 this strip.]]
* The heroine of ''Webcomic/GaiGin'' was told a malicious piece of gossip about her boyfriend being gay (because he'd written the ad jingle for a store in Tokyo's gay district) and actually cried because it ''wasn't'' true.
* Racer Bomber from ''Webcomic/BombermanLandParody'' starting which page 6 his second appearance.
* ''Moon Over June'' features a rare case of a lesbian Yaoi Fangirl in the form of Hatsuki. Hatsuki is "intrigued" and not actively repulsed by men, but has no interest in actually sleeping with one. Her girlfriend Summer, who DoesNotLikeMen, is completely baffled by it: "The only thing that would turn her off more would be men having sex with women (an act she considers the ultimate perversion)."
* Esa from ''Handsome Fungus'' is ''almost'' [[http://www.savetinytim.com/handsomefungus/index.html?Blink=89 caught drawing yaoi.]] (also note that the "801" is Japanese number-syllable code for "yaoi".)
* ''Webcomic/CaptainSNES'' had a bit where Relm is a yaoi fangirl. She even ruins Alex's fantasy football by talking about how much they have sex. Then she mistakenly called it shonen ai, which specifically refers to ''non''-sexual gay themes; yaoi is the hXc stuff.
* Sister Japan from ''Webcomic/ScandinaviaAndTheWorld'' - which Denmark and Holland exploit [[http://satwcomic.com/tea-party-crasher to ruin England's new tea-party tablecloth]].
** Don't forget [[EagleLand Sister America]].
* In ''Webcomic/SomethingPositive'', Jason picks the wrong derogatory term to describe Davan to Branwen:
-->"Your boyfriend has become a master cocksucker."\
"... I've dreamed of this day for so long, I don't know what to do now it's finally true."
* Amber of ''Webcomic/GGGuys'' was shown in one comic to have her own Yaoi PornStash and in another, she helps Dave and Psy remove all the gay porn from their TV. [[AllWomenAreLustful She insisted]].
* Princess Peonie in ''Webcomic/{{Exiern}}'', or at least she was until she accidentally [[http://www.exiern.com/?p=1033 pictured her father in it]].
-->Princess Peonie: Now Yaoi is ruined for me forever!
-->King Urtica: The pornographers of the kingdom weep at the news, no doubt.
* Meulin from ''Webcomic/{{Homestuck}}'' is a [[ShipperOnDeck shipper]] who, when she first meets the humans, is ''very'' interested in the implications 'gay' could have on her shipping. She's probably a YuriFan as well, but as a parody of Website/{{Tumblr}}ites, this trope was no doubt the intended effect.
** Then there was [[https://www.homestuck.com/story/4713 Rose's reaction to Karkat's troll romance novel]].
** Aranea could also be this, as she was ''very'' interested in explaining how [[OneGenderRace Leprechaun]] romance and [[HomosexualReproduction reproduction]] works. So much so she did [[RunningGag the gushing face]] while explaining them.
** After getting his hands on a "How to Draw Manga" book, Caliborn becomes a [[GenderInvertedTrope Yaoi Fanboy]] and starts making [[StylisticSuck badly drawn]] yaoi fanart of Karkat and Dave. He also refers to his [[SelfInsertFic self-insert]] as [[https://www.homestuck.com/story/6882 "the yaoiest motherfucker who ever lived."]]
* Jung Hyun's sister and two of Rose's friends in ''Webcomic/WelcomeToRoom305''.
* ''Webcomic/ElGoonishShive'':
** [[http://www.egscomics.com/index.php?id=1753 Grace shares a Tedd/Elliot fantasy]]. Granted, it's actually [[VoluntaryShapeshifting Grace in Elliot's form]], and [[PingPongNaivete she could just be messing with Elliot]].
** [[http://www.egscomics.com/index.php?id=1805 Sarah is confirmed to be one]] and has a battle of fantasies with Tedd's GirlOnGirlIsHot. She later proves to be a ShipperOnDeck for Justin/Luke, and [[https://www.egscomics.com/comic/party-043 wants to hear the details]] after their date.
* Ruby of ''Webcomic/StickyDillyBuns'' initially denies it, but [[http://www.stickydillybuns.com/strips-sdb/i_do_not_speak_japanese Angel's suggestion that she has fujoshi tendencies]] is obviously correct; she is soon [[http://www.stickydillybuns.com/strips-sdb/poor_twisted_freaks making purchases in a comics shop.]] She still finds her own interest in yaoi excruciatingly embarrassing at that point, but on a return visit to the shop, she encounters Zii of parent comic ''Webcomic/MenageA3'' (see above), who works there, and who [[http://www.stickydillybuns.com/strips-sdb/spying_on_what_dillon_gets_up_to reassures her.]] Unfortunately, admitting this interest also leads to her trying to manipulate various gay and bi male acquaintances into getting together while she watches.
* In ''Webcomic/LuminaryChildren'', Cameron seems ... very fond of the idea of [[MistakenForGay Rex and Rick being boyfriends]].
* Gannet's sister Gracie in ''Webcomic/{{Avialae}}'' is shown wearing a ''Anime/{{Free}}'' t-shirt and [[https://yaoi.biz/avialae/chapter-1/page-33 thinking that Bailey's flustered explanation]] that he was "[[ImaginedInnuendo taking care of]]" a [[PlayingSick sick]] Gannet would be a good plot for a {{doujinshi}}.
* [[https://www.deviantart.com/gear-boy/art/Fan-Girls-511826516 Geargirl]] goes absolutely ''ballistic'' when Series/{{Sherlock}} and Moriarty don't actually kiss.
* Wang Wang, from ''Webcomic/HereUAre'', who has a whole Boys' Love manhua collection.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Web Original]]
* ''RolePlay/WeAreOurAvatars'':
** Yanmie, a [[Franchise/{{Pokemon}} Yanmega]] girl, once got a nose bleed at the mental image of [[VideoGame/MegaManDrWilysRevenge Enker]] and Ty kissing. She also went after [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Leeron's]] private stash of slash fiction.
** [[VideoGame/BlazBlue Tsubaki]] [[StealthPun Ya]][[AccidentalPun yoi]] shows her hidden Yaoi Fangirl after she gets a nosebleed from seeing a doujinshi of Rai and Konoe, which she thinks is "hot".
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgaAzSFOvGE Mocked]] by anime voice actors Steven Blum and Vic Mignogna in a parody of the Budweiser 'Real Men of Genius' skit.
* Missy, one of the characters in ''[[Literature/TalesOfMU More Tales of MU]]'' is very clearly fujoshi. What makes it funny is that previously, the gay sex itself spawned a conversation in the comments concerning the existence of such fangirls just like the example above.
* Some new recruits in the WebOriginal/ProtectorsOfThePlotContinuum start off as are yaoi fangirls, but working in the DBS tends to traumatize it out of them.
* Sticks in ''Roleplay/KnightBlades'', who seems more interested in guys doing things with each other than doing anything with them herself. (Apparently she got in trouble for fooling around with a Duke's son and decided it was safer to just "watch".) [[spoiler:Though Ridder ends up changing this...]]
* Although his [[GirlOnGirlIsHot girl-on-girl love]] is far more obvious, WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic is a Yaoi Fanboy. Examples of shipping include Frodo/Sam in ''Film/TheLordOfTheRings'' movies and Leonardo/Raphael in ''WesternAnimation/{{TMNT}}''.
* ''WebVideo/TheNostalgiaChick'': Nella enjoys ''Series/{{Merlin|2008}}'' slash and ships Kirk/Spock.
* Rebecca in ''WebVideo/DemoReel'' gets very excited when Donnie and Tacoma make up, and when Donnie and Carl finally become friends.
* You can thank the [[MemeticMutation memetic spread]] of ''Manga/AttackOnTitan'' for [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GOuDUtMFhM this.]]
* This illustration of the mating behaviour of [[http://humon.deviantart.com/art/The-Ruff-Bird-299178154 the ruff bird]] depicts female ruffs as yaoi fangirls.
* Gaea from ''Franchise/{{Noob}}'' [[MistakenForRomance keeps picturing a romance]] between her HeroWorshipper guildmate and TheAce. The fact that her guildmate is AmbiguouslyGay and that the other guy ''is'' TheNotLoveInterest to him is far from helping matters.
* Though he's actually a Yaoi Fan''boy'', Cecil in ''Podcast/WelcomeToNightVale'' apparently writes ''Film/{{Jaws}}'' slash fic, and made Intern Maureen proofread it.
* ''LetsPlay/NicoB'' reinterprets [[Franchise/AceAttorney Maya Fey]] to be one. Pretty much every HoYay moment in the ''Franchise/AceAttorney'' series will end up in her {{Squee}}.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Western Animation]]
* The ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'' episode "[[Recap/SouthParkS19E6TweekXCraig Tweek x Craig]]" has the Asian-American students drawing Yaoi fanart of Craig and Tweek, which causes everyone to think that the two are actually a couple. When the two stage a public breakup, they move on to drawing sad fanart of the two. Not only is the topic of Yaoi discussed at the beginning of the episode (including terminology such as Uke and Seme), but all the art seen in the episode was [[OfficialFanSubmittedContent submitted by fans at the request of the creators]].
* Mabel Pines from ''WesternAnimation/GravityFalls'' is about as strongly implied as one can be in a Disney show. In "[[Recap/GravityFallsS1E15TheDeepEnd The Deep End]]" she rather enthusiastically takes a photo of her own brother doing a CPR on her love interest (though also for potential blackmail), and the original intention for her rainbow sweater in "[[Recap/GravityFallsS2E9TheLoveGod The Love God]]" was to show her support of same-sex love.
* [[Characters/StevenUniversePeridot Peridot]] of ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'' watched a single episode of ''[[ShowWithinAShow Camp Pining Hearts]]'' on repeat for three days, and her OTP ended up being Percy x Pierre. She even completed charts and graphs on the subject! However, rather than picking the two for romantic compatibility, she chose them because they're the strongest campers and thus would make the strongest pairing.
--> '''Steven:''' You got all this from one episode?\
'''Peridot:''' It's ''subtext,'' Steven.

* Pretty much a universal phenomenon among fan fiction writers. Possible reasons include [[MenActWomenAre a lack of interesting female characters]] [[SmurfettePrinciple in the main cast]] of many works, the fact that many male friendships in fiction are closer to respectful, equal romantic relationships than the relationships between men and women that are portrayed as romantic, internalized misogyny in female writers, using it as a (relatively) safe way to explore sexuality and gender identity, and simply just finding it hot. Of course, a relationship between two men can also be PlayedForDrama in homophobic settings, but this isn't done often enough to completely explain the phenomenon.
* Sadly (or hilariously depending on your POV), a good deal too many yaoi fangirls like to bug the voice actors of popular yaoi-related characters about it at anime cons. Similar to the examples above, there have been fangirls making yaoi between the actual voice actors themselves. But this did lead to some good: once Quinton Flynn and Jeff Nimoy found out they were being shipped together, they [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlCIe_A5dd4 created the "Yaoi Song".]]
* Jenna Hilary Sinclair, a GLBT rights activist, author of gay romance novels, [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking and Kirk/Spock shipper]].
* As just a couple of the VisualKei examples above from [[Music/XJapan one band]], we have Music/YoshikiHayashi, who wrote probably the most homoerotic song in the history of Visual Kei with ''Stab Me In The Back,'' [[Music/ToshimitsuDeyama Toshi]] not to be outdone with "You With Crystal Piano," his love song for Yoshiki, the late [[Music/HidetoMatsumoto hide]] whose favorite song was the aforementioned "Stab Me In The Back" and included men and women equally in his fanservice, and finally [[Music/TomoakiIshizuka Pata]] whose stage name originates from the BoysLove comic ''Manga/{{Patalliro}}''. It could be argued that for as much as Music/XJapan is a band appealing to yaoi fen, it's also a case of major AuthorAppeal.
* Yukie Sakou, one of the main animators in ''Anime/CodeGeass'' who is ''obsessed'' with [[{{Yandere}} Rolo]] (she redirects the topic of every question she's asked to fangirling about him) released some [[http://moe.imouto.org/pool/show/538 very interesting]] illustrations at C75, "mostly featuring [[HoYay Rolo & Lelouch]]"...
** To say nothing about how hard Creator/{{CLAMP}} apparently ship Lelouch/Suzaku. [[{{BonusMaterial}} Mutuality]], anyone? With its infamous portrait of Suzaku getting down on his knees in front of Lelouch to lick Lelouch's sword? (ItMakesSenseInContext...sorta). Admittedly, CLAMP and the actual writers of the show [[ShipTease ships]] [[LauncherOfAThousandShips Lelouch]] with everyone from [[TheRival Suzaku]] to [[MadLove Rolo]] to [[ActionGirl Kallen]] and [[TheIngenue Shirley]] and [[MysteriousWaif CC]] to [[BrotherSisterIncest his own sisters]], but that doesn't negate their love for the gay.
* Creator/JamesFranco ships Kirk/Spock. [[http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2010/06/captain_kirk_and_spock_make_ou.html No, seriously.]]
* Creator/TheodoreSturgeon may have been a Yaoi Fanboy. He wrote several gay-themed science fiction stories, as well as the two most HoYay-laden episodes of ''Series/StarTrekTheOriginalSeries''.
* [[http://s3-ak.buzzfed.com/static/enhanced/terminal01/2011/7/25/10/enhanced-buzz-30484-1311605563-9.jpg This policewoman is probably one, judging by her pleased expression.]]
* Creator/TomFelton ships [[Literature/HarryPotter Draco/Harry]].
* Creator/RobertDowneyJr likes to ship all of his characters with another male character and certainly has no problems flirting and kissing guys (which hilariously means in Iron Man has got with [[Film/KissKissBangBang Batman]] and [[Film/TropicThunder Spiderman]]). The HoYay in the ''[[Film/SherlockHolmes2009 Sherlock Holmes]]'' films almost goes off the chart - and his real-life relationship with Creator/JudeLaw is the same - claims [[Film/TheAvengers2012 Tony Stark and Steve Rogers get married after the film]], etc.
* Creator/YoshihiroTogashi is ''infamous'' in [[ShonenGenre shounen]] circles for this. It's part of [[AuthorAppeal his general interest in GLBTQ topics]]...but seeing as how he's also a NightmareFetishist (his main artistic influence is Creator/HRGiger), don't expect his HoYay to be sweet and cute...
* Gail Carriger, authoress of ''Literature/TheParasolProtectorate'' Series is an admitted fan of boy on boy lovin' in [[http://bookyurt.com/scouting/interviews/gail-carriger-on-steampunk-finishing-school-and-more/ this interview.]]
* Creator/YuriLowenthal (English voice actor of Sasuke in ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'') is hinted to ship [[HoYay Naruto/Sasuke]].
* Creator/ToddHaberkorn is shown [[http://youtu.be/HUb1MkcCDkg here]] to be cooperative in terms of yaoi fangirl requests. He even admits to supporting [[Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers Ger]][[IdiosyncraticShipNaming Ita]] during his Q&A Panel at Sac Anime: [[http://youtu.be/8dkIFIpBDVo?t=3m1s]]
* Creator/{{CLAMP}} started out as a yaoi {{doujinshi}} circle before they became a professional manga group; one of their most infamous doujinshi is about Jotari and Kakyoin from ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureStardustCrusaders'' raising a baby that [[MisterSeahorse hatched from an egg that Kakyoin somehow laid]]. While none of their professional works are officially part of the YaoiGenre, they're still fond of including ShipTease between their male characters. They're also avid {{Yuri Fan}}s, though their doujinshi doesn't focus on that as much and their only true yuri work is ''Manga/MiyukiChanInWonderland''.
* Creator/JamesMcAvoy has said [[http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/james-mcavoy-is-a-classy-man/story-fn6ccx45-1226067086143 "It is a little bit of a mini-tragedy that he and Magneto don't, you know, have sex and become married and become best friends."]] He blatantly ships [[Film/XMenFirstClass Charles/Erik]].
* George Blagden, who played Grantaire in the [[Film/LesMiserables2012 2012 film adaptation]] if ''Theatre/LesMiserables'' seems VERY fond of the Enjolras×Grantaire ship. This became very noticable when he uploaded a video onto his youtube channel of him covering the song Hallelujiah (which can be interpreted as being sung from the POV of a man who fell in love with another man) and then ''[[Music/DeathCabForCutie I Will Follow You Into the Dark]]'' and changing some lyrics so it was blatantly about E/R
* Thanks to a real-life event to celebrate the ''[[VideoGame/BlazBlue Riot of Summer 2012]]'', Creator/AoiYuuki got the nickname "Y.Aoi" because she was shipping ''anything'' yaoi related[[note]]Creator/YuuichiNakamura had a hard time looking at the screen while Azrael was presented thanks to the reflection of the screen which Creator/HirokiYasumoto teases him that he's into yaoi, and then Creator/AoiYuuki jumped in full speed ahead never looking back[[/note]].
* It looks like humans aren't the only females who are turned on by [[GuyOnGuyIsHot guy on guy action]]. The [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruff#Mating Ruff Bird]] has three different types of males: territorial, satellite, and the last of which is called faeder, a female mimic. While sometimes mounted by the other two males, it is just as often "on top". Research seems to show the amount of gay activity seems to attract more females to the territory.
* According to [[http://straightguise.blogspot.com/2008/05/why-girls-love-gay-porn.html this article]] which originally appeared in the November 2006 issue of ''[=Playgirl=]'', ''every'' member of the [[AllGuysWantSororityWomen Delta Gamma sorority]] loves gay porn.
* Creator/MarilynMonroe: Charles Chaplin Jr., who was [[FriendsWithBenefits one of her lovers]] and was bisexual [[UrbanLegendLoveLife claimed]] that they along with Edward G. Robinson Jr. (also bi) regularly got together and had [[GuyOnGuyIsHot mmf bisexual ]][[AThreesomeIsHot threesomes]] until she died in 1962.
* Rebecca Sugar, the creator of ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'', shipped [[WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy Eddy/Edd]].
* Apparently existed as far back as 1691 in Japan: according to Doctor Engelbert Kaempfer, who visited the Dutch embassy in Japan and wrote about his experience: "They made us kiss one another, like man and wife, which the ladies (of the court) particularly showed by their laughter to be well pleased with".
* Creator/DougWalker's wife is apparently into all the SlashFic about him, and he's joked that it saved their marriage.
* Taruho Inagaki (1900 - 1977), Meiji novelist whose best known works include an essay called "The Aesthetics of Boys' Love" and who is one of the founding fathers of modern BL.
