Since ''kimono'' are worn in layers, and you need at least one ''datejime'' per layer, you're probably wearing multiple unseen belts. Then there's the ''obiage'', a little belt which peeks out the top of the ''obi'' and holds its bow up. Then there's the ''obijime'', an even smaller belt (sometimes nothing more than a thin cord) that helps hold the knot in place and is decorative. The ''obi'' system is a belt with belts hiding other belts. |
