[[caption-width-right:238:Even the [[MemeticMutation Goddamn]] ComicBook/{{Batman}} can be a {{fanboy}}.]]

->'''Negi:''' You certainly seem very happy, Tosaka. I've never seen you like this before.\
'''Tosaka:''' ''[holding an autographed picture of Jack Rakan]'' Damn right I am! What are you, stupid? To gladiators like me he's a freakin' god, you know?! Like a goddamn deity walking the earth!
-->-- ''Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi'', Ch. 256

Simply put, even heroes will have their heroes.

Maybe you think that answering TheCall and becoming a hero may put our dear protagonists in a more elevated and level-headed position and that they should not feel the need to admire anyone. Now they have the [[MagicAndPowers power]] and the [[WhereDoesHeGetAllThoseWonderfulToys nice toys]] and even some [[InstantFanClub fans]] of their own.

However, what we forget is that our dear protagonists used to have a life before (or even ''besides'') their duties, and are still individual people with likings and all. Maybe they JumpedAtTheCall because [[AscendedFanboy they wanted to be like their beloved childhood hero]], or had some of their decisions shaped by the "philosophy of life" of [[TheHerosIdol their idol]]. The person they admire and want to follow didn't have to be a "true" superhero, though. Could be a favorite celebrity, IdolSinger, or something else. They can also be [[FictionalFanRealCelebrity a real person.]] Maybe that doesn't even have to be a person; just [[MacGuffin an object]], an animal (small cute creatures are a particular favorite), a [[ShowWithinAShow show]], even a [[{{Moe}} particular attitude]].

So, why we should be surprised that they still {{squee}} over their idols? Given the circumstances, we should not be surprised whenever a {{Superhero}}, MagicalGirl, TeenSuperspy, etc. starts acting like a {{fanboy}}/{{fangirl}} over something or someone.

Often, this is followed by FanDisillusionment when the Hero discovers the {{squee}} object is actually either [[NiceCharacterMeanActor mean]], [[BrokenPedestal fake]], or [[NoHeroToHisValet not without his own problems]]. This can lead to an {{anvilicious}} {{Aesop}} on not becoming a fanboy/fangirl; conversely, it can lead to AnAesop that the hero is, after all, a human being.

Another common plot is for the best current hero to squee and be all "I'm Your Biggest Fan!" over [[RetiredBadass a childhood idol]], perhaps telling him that he was the inspiration that got him where he is. The hero's fans are often quite embarrassed by the way they treated what they assumed was an insignificant elderly person.

Compare AudienceSurrogate, FanOfUnderdog, LikeAGodToMe, AscendedFanboy, PromotedFanboy, HeroWorshipper. If this happens with a regular person, it's StarstruckSpeechless.

Not to be confused with [[Film/MontyPythonAndTheHolyGrail The Knights Who Say Ni]], although the title is derived from there.

!!Examples:
[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:Anime and Manga]]
* In ''Manga/BlackClover'', Wizard King Julius is, by all means, a time lord who has tremendous magic power. Also, he is a major ''geek'' who can't help giggling like a maniac whenever he sees incredible magic powers from people lower than him in ranks. He is such a fanboy he periodically sneaks out of the castle -- to his assistant Marx's chagrin -- just to spy on people he has an eye on to, you guessed it, squee at their magic talent. It's also his squeeing that actually helped several people to become Magic Knights at his random recommendation. Asta and Yuno stand out as his favorite knights.
* Soifon from ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'' towards [[LesYay Yoruichi]], when the BrokenPedestal deal is resolved. "Oooooh, Yoruichi-sama!"
* Princess Cornelia from ''Anime/CodeGeass'' can go pretty much into FanGirl mode when you mention her idol, Empress Marianne. Side materials suggest that Lelouch's Zero persona is inspired by a clandestine love of {{Tokusatsu}}; one of the History Lesson stories included in the DVD booklets has C.C. catch him humming a tune which she identifies as the theme song for a Toku series that aired around the time of the invasion of Japan.
* Subverted in ''Manga/DeathNote''. When Misa meets L, (giving Light the chance to get L's real name) at first he just stares at her thoughtfully and then, when he recognizes her, starts acting all fanboy-ish over the idol, drawing the attention of everyone around. It turns out that [[spoiler:he was suspicious of Misa beforehand and everything [[BatmanGambit was part of a plan]] to steal her cellphone, thwarting Light's attempts to get his name and at the same time raising his suspicions about Light]].
* Mink of ''Manga/DragonHalf'' is always {{squee}}ing over idol(/[[HilarityEnsues dragon-slayer]]) Dick Saucer. At the end of the manga, Dick Saucer meets ''his'' idol, Ruath the Red Lightning, renowned dragon-slayer. And he discovers that A) Ruath retired to ''marry a dragon'', and B) the dragon-girl he's been trying to kill the entire series is his idol's ''daughter''. So since his idol did it, Dick ends up marrying Mink. Dick and Mink are still gushing over each other after '''8 years''' of marriage.
* ''Anime/ExcelSaga'':
** Excel and Hyatt squee before agent Key, much to Il Palazzo's displeasure.
** And of course there's Excel's (and later Elgala's) obsession with Il Palazzo, which goes well beyond platonic admiration. Hyatt, on the other hand, is too busy either dying or drugging herself up to squee over anyone.
* A villainous variant occurs in ''Literature/FateZero''; Uryuu, the demented serial killer, accidentally summons Caster, and soon goes into total fanboy mode when he discovers that Caster is even more enamored with disturbing violence than he is, and has various superpowers to assist in his creatively horrific mutilations. Justified, since Uryuu summoned Caster without a catalyst, so the ritual provided him with the spirit most suited to his personality.
* ''VideoGame/GalaxyFrauleinYuna'': Kagurazaka Yuna is an epic FanGirl of the Masked Maiden Polylina... who's really played by one of her friends (and former enemy), Lia. (In the game where Polylina is introduced, this started out as a full-on [[LesYay crush]], or at least sounded like one.)
* In ''Manga/{{Jin}}'', the usually composed and wholly {{ojou}} Saki goes completely nuts when she has an opportunity to meet Tanosuke, kabuki actor she adores.
* This is generally the case, at least a little, with clansmen towards their Kings in ''Anime/{{K}}'', but none take it so far as Kuroh Yatogami, with his former master (and [[HappilyAdopted adoptive father]]) Ichigen Miwa. Kuroh carries around a device that plays recordings of Master Ichigen reciting his haiku poetry. Kuroh plays these recordings to other characters at points, [[BishieSparkle sparkles]], and asks what they think. Their reaction is [[RunningGag always]]... "Creepy."
* In ''Manga/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess2016'', [[spoiler:Darpa]] squees so much when meeting the knights of Hyrule that Ashei has to remind him to actually ''fight'' against the monsters of Ganondorf's army.
* Subaru Nakajima from ''Franchise/LyricalNanoha'' is the star member of the TSAB's disaster relief branch, and she outright ''idolizes'' Nanoha (who saved her life as a child and inspired her to become strong). She's actually [[TearsOfJoy reduced to tears]] at the end of the first episode of ''[[Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaStrikers StrikerS]]'' when she finds out that Nanoha remembers her.
* ''Anime/MacrossDelta'' has [[AscendedFangirl Freyja Wion]], who becomes a beloved member of the idol group Walkure, and was inspired to join them due to being a fan of them as well as previous ''Anime/{{Macross}}'' idols like [[Anime/MacrossFrontier Ranka]] and [[Anime/Macross7 Fire Bomber]]. She actually sings Ranka's signature ''Seikan Hikou'' in a FlashBack and in various spinoffs where she gets to meet the others, she visibly [[{{Squee}} squees]] over her inspirations.
* ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'' has [[AscendedFanboy Izuku Midoriya]], who by Season 3 (and a good hundred or so manga chapters) has firmly established himself as a competent and powerful hero-in-training after inheriting All Might's Quirk, but he still sees All Might as the greatest superhero in the whole damn universe and hasn't grown out of his fanboy tendencies ''in the slightest''. He is able to {{Squee}} over nearly ''any'' Pro Hero, including U.A.'s cook.
* Negi of ''Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi'' tends to do this when he meets any of his father's friends.
* ''Manga/OnePiece:'' [[CuteClumsyGirl Major Sergeant Tashigi]] is pretty much fangirling on the inside over Zoro when they first met. There's kind of a double-subversion going on, though. She immediately presumed he was a bad person upon finding out he was a pirate but doesn't realize that Zoro is still a good guy, and is still all what she was squeeing over earlier and far, far more.
** Whitebeard's allies are this. Including Jimbei, a hero of Fishmen Island, who, alongside with Arlong, was a fanboy to Fisher Tiger.
** Now even ''Luffy'' has one. Bartolomeo is an anti-social {{Troll}} and a ''massive'' fanboy of Luffy. He looked up to Luffy so much that after Marineford he went to sea himself, becoming an AscendedFanboy and entered the tournament on Dressrosa [[spoiler:to win the Mera Mera no Mi so he could give it to Luffy.]] He's practically catatonic with joy after meeting Luffy and his crew in person.
* In ''Manga/{{Ratman}}'', towards the end of issue one. Shuto had to break into Kizaki Manor, home of the president of the hero association! Obviously, [[HilarityEnsues things didn't go quite as planned.]] Eventually, an A-ranked hero is called onto the scene. Upon seeing him, Shouto forgets that he's in his AntiHero mode, and asks for an autograph. Of course, the hero turns out to be a {{Jerkass}} who only does it because [[OnlyinitFortheMoney the job pays well]] [[PunchClockHero and comes with respect]] from the general public. Considering that this series takes place in a world full of superheroes, and the fact that the story is a kid that [[IJustWantToBeSpecial wants to be a superhero]] but is recruited to be the world's first AntiHero [[BoundAndGagged (against his will)]], this was bound to happen.
* In ''Anime/{{Robotech}}''/''Anime/GenesisClimberMospeada'' Scott/Stick Bernard has always admired Colonel Jonathan Wolfe/Major Jonathan ever since he was a kid. When Bernard finds his hero still alive on Earth and doing guerrilla warfare against the Invid, he becomes ecstatic, and he eagerly accepts the offer to join the Colonel/Major's team. [[spoiler: Later, however, Rand/Ray finds out that Jonathan has actually been selling his people out to the Invid; and when he tells Bernard about it, Scott/Stick [[BerserkButton slugs him for defaming his hero]].]]
* In very early ''Manga/SailorMoon'', the very first Sailor to appear is "[[Manga/CodenameSailorV Sailor V]]". Usagi often acts as a V fangirl, even after becoming Sailor Moon. (In several episodes she's shown at an arcade playing the ''Sailor V'' video game!) Eventually, V is revealed to be Sailor Venus, who joins the other Sailors, prompting a few star-struck moments before things settle down.
* In ''Anime/TigerAndBunny'', Wild Tiger/Kotetsu T. Kaburagi is a rather vocal fan of Sternbild's first superhero, Mr. Legend. Ends up on a Broken Pedestal when Kotetsu is told that [[spoiler: once Legend's powers began to fade, the 'crimes' he foiled were actually set up by the TV show. One wonders what his reaction would be if he found out how ''bad'' Legend [[AlcoholicParent really]] [[AbusiveParents got]].]]
* In ''Manga/TokyoGhoul'', many young Investigators are fans of the legendary [[TheAce Undefeated]] [[TheDreaded "God of Death"]], Kishou Arima. Amon, Takizawa, and Kuramoto are all completely open and unembarrassed about their fanboying. Amon himself has several fans, including Takizawa and [[{{Tsundere}} Misato]].
** Higemaru, a new member of Urie's group, fanboys Urie when seeing how he fights and works out and calls him "hot" and "awesome".
** Takeomi describes Sasaki's swordsmanship as elegant "like water" and expresses the hope that he can learn from him at some point. In his diary entry in Volume 4, he repeatedly states how greatly he admirers Sasaki for his kindness and skills with swordsmanship and housework.
** Sasaki/Kaneki also gets a fangirl in the form of Roma. However, Roma is a more [[{{Yandere}} dangerous]] [[LoonyFan type of fan]].
* In ''Manga/TokyoMewMew'', [[{{Ojou}} Mint]] {{fangirl}}s over Zakuro.
* ''Anime/TransformersEnergon'':
** Mirage (the upgraded form of Tidal Wave) squees over Galvatron, to the point of cheerleading with a pink heart visible on screen with him. This is the English dub; in the Japanese original, it was a running gag of him being outright Gay for Galvatron (with lines along the lines of "nobody loves Galvatron more than I do!"). Given this information, the fact that Tidal Wave was specifically modified to be able to [[FusionDance powerlink]] with Galvatron (a process that involves an intermingling of [[OurSoulsAreDifferent sparks]]) becomes a bit more worrisome.
** Ironhide began the series fanboying the veterans of ''Anime/TransformersArmada,'' especially Hot Shot. Later in the series, a trio of younger 'bots fanboy ''him.'' [[spoiler:They become {{dead sidekick}}s three or so episodes later]].
* The girls of ''Manga/WeddingPeach'' are like this with Yanagiba [[spoiler:until they learn his origins]].
* ''Manga/YowamushiPedal'' has Onoda Sakamichi who practically worships the ground Makishima Yuusuke walks on. Makishima, being the most socially awkward of the team (and probably the whole cast) has no idea how to handle all the sparkles and squeeing.
* Judai of ''Anime/YuGiOhGX'' started fanboying over [[spoiler:Yugi]] when they met in the final episodes of ''GX''. At that point he'd just [[spoiler:beaten the embodiment of darkness and was one of the strongest forces in the universe, probably.]] Of course, in terms of the card game, [[spoiler:Yugi]] is still a freaking ''legend''. Of course, it helped that [[spoiler:he and Yugi had met in the ''first'' episode, and Yugi had given him the [[SpiritAdvisor Winged Kuriboh]] card.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Comic Books]]
* ''ComicBook/{{Batman}}'':
** [[ComicBook/Robin1993 Tim Drake]] (Robin III[=/=]ComicBook/RedRobin) was more-or-less an ascended Batman fanboy. An amateur detective, he deduced the secret identities of Batman and the first Robin. Following Robin II Jason Todd's death and Nightwing's refusal to play sidekick to Bruce again, Tim forced Batman to make him Robin, believing Batman needed a sidekick to keep him stable. His own series proves him a fan of ComicBook/BlackCanary and ComicBook/{{Wildcat}} whose autograph he is eager to get. A later issue of ''ComicBook/BirdsOfPrey'' showed that Tim was also a huge fan of (the second) ComicBook/BlueBeetle.
** Similarly, [[ComicBook/{{Nightwing}} Dick Grayson]], the first Robin, first Nightwing, and second Batman, has been shown, both in and outside of current canon, to be a huge Superman fanboy, more outwardly so when he was still Robin. To the point where he took the name Nightwing after a hero from Kryptonian legend.
*** Not even Dick's successor, Jason Todd, was immune to fanning over the Big Blue Boyscout -- Jason kept repeating "Wow!" upon meeting him in Action Comics #594, and his reaction to receiving an [[https://66.media.tumblr.com/0bd5f911d0ad2a562796261015266d3e/tumblr_inline_nrijlnRMO01qg51ag_500.png autograph]] (''etched'' onto a scrap of ''metal'', no less) [[https://66.media.tumblr.com/b11b7e1aeb0fe3580d8405c3a96f5153/tumblr_inline_nrijm5UbOf1qg51ag_500.png is]] [[https://66.media.tumblr.com/a1496b06a030199ccb83e8880d4c1b10/tumblr_inline_nrijminPk31qg51ag_500.png simply]] ''adorable''.
* ComicBook/SpiderMan regarded ComicBook/{{Batman}} like this (in a more dignified way) in the ''ComicBook/SpiderManAndBatmanDisorderedMinds'' inter-company crossover, calling him "a legend"; in fact, when Batman told him to leave Gotham and let him handle Joker and Carnage himself, Spidey was seriously considering doing so, only deciding to stay when Batman changed his mind.
* Batman himself has never actually ''gushed'' upon meeting someone he admired, but his brief meetings with retired legends Radio/TheShadow and Franchise/SherlockHolmes (both of whom he claimed inspired his career) did seem to excite him a little.
* In ''ComicBook/BoosterGold'', time travellers had got Sinestro to come to Earth ahead of schedule, so that he would meet [[ComicBook/GreenLantern Guy Gardner]] and cause disaster, by telling him that he would no longer be the greatest of the Green Lanterns. Booster had to stop him. After a brief attempt at fighting, Booster tries, "[[ImYourBiggestFan But I'm your greatest fan]]!" He gushes over him, tells him that he knows in his heart he can never be replaced and convinces him that it was a plot by his enemies to find out what he feared. This meeting would go on to have a notable consequence: Sinestro asks Booster what Corps he belongs to, leading him [[LineOfSightName to make up the name]] "[[ChekhovsGun Sinestro Corps]]" on the spot. This gets Sinestro thinking...
* ComicBook/CaptainAmerica:
** Cap has been shown, not ''quite'' squeeing, but when, fresh after becoming a SuperSoldier, he meets FDR, he seems to fanboy, just a little.
** Captain America gets these himself quite often. If you're a young supe meeting him for the first time, your knees be bucklin'.
** In ''Avengers Classic'' #11, Cap does a SherlockScan of ComicBook/SpiderMan, and they get their first good talk.
--->'''Spidey:''' Plus it's, like, you're standing there and I'm nerding out on the inside. [...] Permission to freak out openly...?
** The Captain America of [[ComicBook/SpiderGwen Earth-65]], [[DistaffCounterpart Samantha Wilson]], also has her fans in-universe. When Gwen meets her for the first time, she tells Cap that her dad is a huge fan and has all of the comics about her.
* And there's also another ComicBook/CaptainAmerica and Spider-Man Team Up, where it is very easy to believe that Spidey is not just squeeing at Cap, but crushing.
* ComicBook/{{Deadpool}} literally said [[http://scans-daily.dreamwidth.org/2563277.html?#cutid1 "FANBOY SQUEE!"]] when he met [[ComicBook/TheMightyThor Thor]].
* In one ''ComicBook/GreenArrow'' story, Ollie narrates about having to restrain himself from squeeing over Batman -- but only after "swooning in fanboy drool". Yes, those are Ollie's words.
* When the ComicBook/JusticeLeagueOfAmerica came down on ComicBook/YoungJustice, Arrowette's first reaction was stunned surprise that the ''Justice League'' concerned themselves with ''them''. (Making it all the more dramatic when she slowly realized that they were being unjust, complaining that the young superheroes were acting young, and then turned on them, [[Awesome/YoungJustice2010 telling them off in a manner that reduced them to stunned silence]]. [[http://pre08.deviantart.net/1488/th/pre/f/2011/342/3/d/motivation___arrowette_by_songue-d4ii7d7.jpg And then stormed off into the kitchen to hyperventilate.]])
* ''ComicBook/MarvelsVoices: Identity'': Wave is excited to be teaming up with Bishop, since he's one of her heroes. Bishop responds in kind — he knew of her in his own time, and is similarly excited to fight alongside her.
* ''ComicBook/MsMarvel'': In ''ComicBook/MsMarvel2014'', [[Characters/MarvelComicsKamalaKhan Kamala Khan]], is beside herself with glee, going into doge speak, squeeing, and half incoherent blabbering about her fanfic featuring him (in this order), when she first meets Wolverine (who is less than impressed by this). When she gets saved by Spider-Man, she squees over being in a Spidey team-up, and tells Spidey she ships him and [[Characters/MarvelComicsCarolDanvers Carol Danvers]], her predecessor as Ms. Marvel. And when she met Carol Danvers... oh gosh. Reached its peak when she was asked to join the Avengers, although she did have a minor moment afterwards when she met the original Nova shortly after his resurrection (although she notes that [[FandomNod some of his online fans put even her to shame in this department]]).
* In her [[ComicBook/MyLittlePonyMicroSeries micro comic]], Pinkie Pie is a huge fan of Ponyacci, a famous Equestrian clown.
* In ''ComicBook/{{Noob}}'', [[LivingLegend Spectre]] returning to the game after a long absence was a major factor in Fantöm, Omega Zell's idol, getting out of his TenMinuteRetirement.
* Victor Mancha of ''ComicBook/{{Runaways}}'' got really excited about meeting the ComicBook/XMen. Strangely, he was much calmer about meeting Spider-Man, who he cited as his favorite superhero in his very first appearance.
* In ''ComicBook/SonicTheHedgehogArchieComics''' "Mobius: X Years Later" continuity, Argyle, Vector the Crocodile's son, is a major fanboy of Sonic, squeeing madly when the Blue Blur spouted out his [[CharacterCatchphrase catchphrase]] "Let's Do It To It!" when mobilizing the emerging Future Freedom Fighters.
* ''ComicBook/SpiderMan'': Overdrive is a supervillain who fanboys over the heroes. In his first appearance, he tries to get Spidey to sign an autograph ''while they're fighting''. He has a similar reaction to ComicBook/LukeCage in ''ComicBook/TheSuperiorFoesOfSpiderMan''. His backstory reveals that he grew up as a big fan of superheroes (Spidey in particular) and only agreed to work for Mr. Negative so that he could build up his rep and impress the Avengers when he eventually defects.
* Spidey has got this treatment himself a few times. Mattie Franklin (one of the [[ComicBook/SpiderWoman Spider-Women]]) was a total Spidey fangirl.
* ''ComicBook/{{Superman}}'':
** During a TimeTravel story, the ComicBook/PostCrisis Superman once shook FDR's hand, and got quite emotional, if only in his thought balloons.
** In the same story, Superman sees Golden Age heroes ComicBook/DoctorFate, Dr. Mid-Nite, ComicBook/TheSpectre, and [[ComicBook/TheFlash Jay Garrick]] through a skylight and spends about a page fanboying to himself and wondering if he'll really ruin the timeline that badly if he just pops in for a moment to meet them.
** It's fairly common in DC crossovers for almost every character created after 1980 to have this reaction when they meet Superman.
** The Pre-Crisis ComicBook/LexLuthor felt this way about UsefulNotes/AlbertEinstein. After all, this was MadScientist Lex, and Einstein had been his childhood hero. Luthor would commemorate Einstein's birthday each year by traveling to some pivotal location from Einstein's life for a visit (spending one day working in Einstein's old patent office, for instance). It took Superman years to figure out why Lex was behaving so oddly until he made the connection, at which point he was genuinely touched. Notably, Lex couldn't bring himself to do anything genuinely wicked on that day, out of respect for his hero. Notably, this story was written by Creator/ElliotSMaggin, who always treated Lex with more tragic sympathy than other writers did; and Einstein is ''Maggin's'' personal hero.
* Ironfist from ''ComicBook/TheTransformersLastStandOfTheWreckers'' is a total fanboy of the titular Wreckers. The fact that he got to work with them was like a dream come true. [[spoiler:It makes his death at the end all the more saddening.]]
* The premise of ''ComicBook/TheUnbelievableGwenpool'' is: [[TrappedInTVLand Gwen Poole, a comic book nerd, got stuck in her favorite comics]], what happens? Well, logically on the cute side of things she will squee over all the more popular/badass characters she runs into (so she will [[LesYay put heart stickers on Jane!Thor's poster]], and DeterioratesIntoGibberish in the presence of Doctor Strange)...
* Ladytron in ''ComicBook/WildCATsWildStorm'' is a huge fan of Overt-Kill, the biggest and most powerful cyborg in the world. She's got the trading card, the posters, that punk song that sampled one of his one-liners, everything. One of the only reasons she even joined up with the team was because she was promised the chance to meet him. When she finally does, she frantically looks around for a piece of paper for him to sign. Of course, she also wants to fight and maybe kill him, because she's kinda loco like that.
* ''ComicBook/YoungAvengers'':
** In ''Dark Reign: Young Avengers'', upon meeting ComicBook/NormanOsborn superperson artist Coat-of-Arms has one of these moments. She (literally) lets out a "Squee!", then proceeds to go into super-fangirl mode, gushing about how she admires Norman's "works" while showing him paintings she did of some of his more infamous moments (including killing Gwen Stacy). This pisses Norman off and, for a brief moment, he loses his composure and flips out on her. The fact he "went into Green Goblin mode" makes her completely ecstatic.
** Most of the Young Avengers are total fanboys or fangirls, especially Wiccan and Hulkling.
*** Wiccan even fanboys over ''Doctor Doom'' while fighting him, with his thought process swinging between "[[OhCrap OMG, Doctor Doom is going to kill me]]!" and "OMG, I'm fighting Doctor Doom!" He does it a ''second'' time later when Doom is healing him after their fight:
---->'''Doom:''' I've no grudge against you, Wiccan.
---->'''Wiccan:''' You know who I am?
---->'''Doom:''' Of course.
---->'''Wiccan:''' ''(aloud, to himself)'' [-Dr. Doom knows who I am.-]

[[folder:Fan Works]]
* Fanfic example: In M. [=McGregor=]'s ''[[http://www.tthfanfic.org/Story-16694/MMcGregor+The+Wonderland+Subject.htm The Wonderland Subject]]'', central to which is an [[IntercontinuityCrossover interdimensional crossover]] between ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'' and the ComicBook/UltimateMarvel universe, Xander and Jean Grey have several instances of mutual squeeing over each other -- he, because he's a big-time comic book fan; she, because she's a fan of a long-running Broadway musical version of ''Buffy'' native to her version of Earth. When they first meet, Jean French kisses Xander after reading his mind.
-->'''Jean''': It's like if you met Princess Leia. The real Princess Leia. And instead of being freaked out by you, it turned out she used to fantasize about you when she was all alone in her room.
* In ''Fanfic/KyonBigDamnHero'', Koizumi acts like this towards the writer of ''[[ShowWithinAShow Brave Detective Sasha]]'' novel series, [[VisualNovel/HigurashiWhenTheyCry Ryuugu Rena]]. Rena herself has [[ImTakingHerHomeWithMe her typical reaction]] over Yuki cosplaying as Sasha.
* In ''Fanfic/AceCombatTheEquestrianWar'', Medley acts like this toward [[TheHeroine Rainbow Dash]]. In a mild manner, but nonetheless.
* ''Fanfic/ChildrenOfTime'' has [[Series/DoctorWho the Tenth Doctor]] being his usual fanboy self -- over Shakespeare as per canon but also over Literature/SherlockHolmes and Dr. Watson. (Watson himself joins the Doctor in fanboying over Shakespeare.)
* An odd recursive version of this occurs in [[http://www.fimfiction.net/story/101168/earning-wings-of-a-different-nature "Earning Wings of a Different Nature"]] when Princess Luna saves Daring Do from a nightmare. For the latter, she's in the presence of one of the [[GodEmperor diarchs]] of their native world. For the former, however...
---> “As in, Princess Celestia and I,” Luna clarified, “My real name as a human was John Sappington, but you may address me as simply ‘Luna’ if you wish”.
---> “Mark,” Daring nodded weakly, “Mark Sheffield. Otherwise known as Daring Do, apparently”.
---> Luna coughed loudly to suppress a *squee* at the name ‘Daring Do’.
* Just about every single Huntsman and Huntress in ''Fanfic/WeissReacts''. Yes, even [[TheStoic Ren]] -- Ren flips out when he realises that one of Jaune's sisters looks like [[Anime/CodeGeass Euphemia]], and Ruby and Yang {{squee}} when they meet [[VideoGame/Persona3 Yukari]] as a toku actress.
* Axel of ''VideoGame/RakenzarnTales'' has these moments. There's a subdued one when he meets [[VideoGame/RumbleRoses Reiko Hinomoto]] due to his love of wrestling, but a more blatant one is when he meets ComicBook/{{Deadpool}} and one of his dialogue lines is transcribed as "fanboy squeal".
* In the ''Literature/{{Gate}}'' fanfic ''Fanfic/HereWeGoAgain'', [[UsefulNotes/KaijuDefenceForce JSDF]] soldier [[ActionGirl Sgt. Kuribayashi]] is a fangirl of the [[SemperFi United States Marine Corps]] and practically squees over seeing the Marines and their tanks every time they appear.
* ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11813522/1/Fates-of-Ice-and-Fire Fates of Ice and Fire]]'' is a story where characters from ''Literature/ASongOfIceAndFire'' are summoned as Servants for the Holy Grail War in ''Literature/FateZero''. When Kiritsugu Emiya summons Ser Jaime Lannister as Saber, he mistakenly calls him Arthur (after all, Jaime resembles the classical depiction of King Arthur). Jaime corrects him but is very flattered because he assumed Kiritsugu was referring to Ser Arthur Dayne, the Sword of the Morning, who was one of his idols.
* ''Fanfic/ChildOfTheStorm'': Entirely in keeping with his character, Harry Dresden squees when he meets InUniverse LivingLegend Wanda Maximoff. She and [[ActionGirl Murphy]] tease him about it. While he doesn't immediately do this when he meets Captain America, that's because it's a battle. On the second meeting, this is ''exactly'' what he does. Steve was apparently patient.
-->(regarding talking to Captain America): I will, in a manly and mature fashion which will in no way [[BlatantLies involve me being tongue tied and staring and begging on my knees for an autograph, no siree.]]
* Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody in ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11634921/75/Itachi-Is-That-A-Baby Itachi, Is That A Baby?]]'' fanboys over realizing Professor Potter is teaching DADA in his absence. To Dumbledore's surprise/amusement, he finds Moody studying, not to take over the class, but to ''join'' it. Though Moody is disappointed he can only join the 3rd year class as the later years are too advanced for him.
* ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11132563/28/No-More-Shall-We-Play No More Shall We Play]]'' is a First Contact-story, with Terran delegates reuniting to Geneva to welcome the aliens and start negotiations. [[RealMenLoveJesus Steve Rogers]] is sent as representant of SHIELD and outright geeks out when he see the Pope.
-->'''Natasha:''' Steve, please tell me you're not fanboying out.
* ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/8412011/11/The-Cup-of-Life The Cup of Life]]'' has the Winchesters travelling back in time to visit Camelot and helping to protect it from monsters. For their efforts, they are knighted by ''King Arthur himself''. You can hear their brains almost implode from happiness.
* ''Fanfic/MagicaeEstPotestas'': Frisk has this reaction to Artemis Fowl II in general. Also, it turns out that some of the human tapes Frisk had watched with Undyne and Alphys in the Underground featured Juliet's wrestling match as the Jade Princess.
** Beckett Fowl has this to Frisk in return.
* In ''Fanfic/PhantomDumbasses'', as the Phantom Thieves learn about the various famous people Ren is connected to, this reaction occurs to varying degrees.
** Ann freaks out upon finding out Ren knows Risette.
** Most of the Phantom Thieves grew up on Phoenix Ranger Feathermen, so they all geek out when they learn Ren is related to Yukari through Minato.
** Makoto has this reaction upon finding out Naoto Shirogane is Ren’s cousin.
** Shinjiro is eventually revealed to be [=YouTuber=] hosting a cooking channel that Ryuji watches to help his mom with the cooking.
** Haru when Ren tells her Mitsuru wants to visit her.
* ''Fanfic/FatesCollide'': Jaune Arc is very happy to find one of his new teachers is Gawain, a warrior he had admired growing up.
* Superman in ''Fanfic/TheLastSon'' has this to say when he gets to meet Captain America, whom he has admired since he was a child:
-->"When I was growing up, I looked up to you; ''God'', for most of my childhood I wanted to ''be'' you! Even to this day, every time I'm facing a tough decision during an emergency, in the back of my head, I always ask myself,'' 'What would Captain America do?' ''"
* Due to the way ''Fanfic/TheInfiniteLoops'' work, there are times when characters meet idols of theirs from video games or TV shows, as those types of media will be actual alternate universes. For example, [[WesternAnimation/MyLifeAsATeenageRobot Jenny Wakemen]] turns into an excited mess when she gets to meet [[VideoGame/MegaManX Zero]].
* [[WebAnimation/{{RWBY}} Glynda Goodwitch]], who is just as much a professional Huntress in ''Fanfic/BlazBlueAlternativeRemnant'' as she was in canon, is revealed in Chapter 30 to be a ''massive'' fan of [[Franchise/BlazBlue Trinity Glassfille of the Six Heroes]]. According to Ozpin and Rachel, she even cosplays as the Platinum Alchemist during the Beacon staff's annual costume parties. When she meets her for the first time, she awkwardly tries to ask for her autograph all while trying (and failing) to maintain her usual no-nonsense persona. To top it off, she quite literally ''squees'' after she gets the autograph.

[[folder:Films — Animation]]
* In ''WesternAnimation/Cars1'', Lightning [=McQueen=] goes Squee over [[spoiler: Doc Hudson]] when he realizes he was a great race car in his day. Leading to the painful scene where none of [[spoiler: Doc]]'s friends will believe him, and [[spoiler: Doc]] watches, knows he is telling the truth, and says nothing.
* In ''WesternAnimation/IceAgeDawnOfTheDinosaurs'', Crash and Eddie (and to a lesser extent, Diego) become obsessed with the CrazySurvivalist Buck.
-->'''Crash:''' You are Super Weasel!\
'''Eddie:''' Ultra Weasel!\
'''Diego:''' Diesel Weasel!
* A rare villainous example in ''WesternAnimation/TheIncredibles1'': Syndrome, despite seeing Mr. Incredible as a severe BrokenPedestal (this being what fueled Syndrome's descent into villainy), still has a fanboy moment over Mr. Incredible tricking Syndrome's life-sign scanner by hiding behind Gazerbeam's corpse.
* ''Franchise/KungFuPanda'':
** In the [[WesternAnimation/KungFuPanda1 original movie]], Po is exploding with delight over getting to hang out with the Furious Five. The Five don't quite share his enthusiasm.
** In ''WesternAnimation/KungFuPanda2'', Po is thrilled to be locked in the same pressure-point shackles as Tai Lung. Even noting this fact with a bit of audible glee.
* In ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooMoonMonsterMadness'', Fred, Shaggy, and Scooby go crazy over some of the celebrity passengers.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Films — Live-Action]]
* In ''Film/TheDarkKnightRises'' it's revealed that Jim Gordon isn't just Batman's friend and ally; from the moment in ''Film/BatmanBegins'' when Gordon tried to comfort young Bruce Wayne after his parents were killed, Jim was Bruce's personal Hero.
* Lars von Trier gets to work with and even impersonate his lifetime mentor and role model Jørgen Leth in a documentary film called ''Film/TheFiveObstructions''.
* Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse: %%Put TV-related MCU entries in the Live-Action TV section.
** ''Film/{{The Avengers|2012}}'':
*** Agent Coulson spends a good part of the film trying to get ComicBook/CaptainAmerica to sign his near-mint-condition trading cards. He also had a hand in designing Cap's modern-day outfit.
---->'''Coulson:''' [[ThatCameOutWrong I watched you while you were sleeping.]] [[VerbalBackspace I mean, I was...]][[HumanPopsicle I was present while you were unconscious from the ice.]]
*** Several Avengers admire each other. Notably Tony Stark is a huge fan of both Dr. Bruce Banner (it says something when [[InsufferableGenius Tony Freakin' Stark]] admires someone's else's genius) ''and'' [[ComicBook/TheIncredibleHulk The Hulk]], being one of the few who regards Banner's alter-ego as a superpower, not some condition to be cured.
---->'''Stark:''' Your work on anti-electron collisions is unparalleled. And I'm a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster.\
'''Bruce:'''...Thanks.
** In ''Film/AntMan1'', Scott's reaction to meeting Sam Wilson on the roof of the Avengers HQ is a combination of this and OhCrap, since Scott admires the Falcon but intends to break into the building to steal some tech. The fight that ensues involves Scott [[ApologeticAttacker apologizing a lot]].
---> '''Scott:''' First off, I'm a big fan.\
'''Sam:''' Appreciate it.
** In ''Film/CaptainAmericaCivilWar'', [[spoiler:ComicBook/SpiderMan is this to every other Avenger he meets, including those [[CasualDangerDialogue he's actively fighting against]].]]
** [[Film/AntMan1 Scott Lang]] when he first meets Captain America.
--->'''Scott Lang:''' Captain America.\
'''Steve Rogers:''' Mr. Lang.\
'''Scott Lang:''' It's an honor. I'm shaking your hand too long. Wow, this is awesome! ''(turns towards Wanda while pointing at Cap)'' Captain America. ''(turns back towards Wanda)'' I know you too, you're great. ''(Grabs Cap's arm)'' Jeez. Look, I wanna say, I know you know a lot of super-people so... thinks for thanking of me.
** ''Film/ThorRagnarok'': Thor mentions that he wanted to be a Valkyrie before finding out they are all women, and geeks out over Valkyrie's weapon. He flip-flops a bunch between "disappointed in how she has fallen" and "in awe of how awesome she is."
** Peter Parker aka Spider-Man in ''Film/AvengersInfinityWar'' is ''still'' a big fan of Iron Man. When they team up against members of the Black Order, Peter is obviously gleeful to be fighting alongside Iron Man. Tony Stark's initial reaction is to try and to keep Peter safe; but eventually, he either realizes that Spidey has the guts and brains to be a hero, or simply accepts that since he's here and can't go back to Earth he might as well help. This brings out the paternal instinct in Stark, and they start to form a father-son/teacher-student relationship. [[spoiler:This makes Spidey gets dusted by Thanos and dying in Tony's arms all the more heartrending.]]
** [[Film/ShangChiAndTheLegendOfTheTenRings Shang-Chi]] becomes a fan of Sorcerer Supreme Wong after seeing him fight Emil Blonsky in his sister's [[FightClubbing underground superhuman fight club]]. %%Put TV-related MCU entries in the Live-Action TV section.
* ''Franchise/StarTrek'':
** ''Film/StarTrekFirstContact'', the second [[Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration TNG]] film. It has the crew traveling back to the mid 21st century and meeting Zefram Cochrane, the man who invented warp drive and pretty much founded the utopian principles of the ''Franchise/StarTrek'' universe.
*** Much of the crew expects to meet a living saint, and instead discover Cochrane to be [[HistoricalHeroUpgrade a raging drunk who cares more about money than anything else]]. Other crewmen, like Riker, either didn't have such expectations or just got used to the reality faster. Although Riker does get the best line about Cochrane's attitude:
---->'''Riker:''' Someone once said, "Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man, and let history make its own judgments."\
'''Cochrane:''' That's rhetorical nonsense. ... Who said that?\
'''Riker:''' [*grins*] You did. Ten years from now.
*** Barclay and Geordi (both engineers) are obviously the most taken with him. Barclay has to drum up the courage to ask to shake Cochrane's hand and immediately dissolves in ecstatic babbling, while Geordi waxes so eloquent about how "Zefram Cochrane" is the first chapter in the introductory text for the required warp field course at Starfleet Academy, the grand 20-foot-statue of Cochrane that was built on the launch site, etc, that Cochrane freaks out and tries to escape from the launch party because it's too much pressure.
---->'''Geordi:''' You know, I probably shouldn't tell you this, but I went to Zefram Cochrane High School!
** ''Film/StarTrekGenerations''
*** There's something heartwarming about the awed reaction of Captain Picard upon meeting Captain James T. Kirk in the Nexus.
*** And touchingly, Kirk, initially dismissive of Picard, warms up to him almost immediately upon learning what ship he commands.
** ''Film/StarTrekVTheFinalFrontier'': Kirk is amazed and dismayed that General Korrd himself was ReassignedToAntarctica.
* In ''Film/StarWarsTheForceAwakens'', Rey and Finn realize that the ship they stole was the ''Millenium Falcon'', and the man who just boarded it was Han Solo himself. Rey is grinning like a {{Fangirl}} and practically bouncing with excitement, and while Finn is more composed, he's the one who identifies Han as one of the Heroes of the Rebellion.
* [[TheBigGuy Tallahassee]] from ''Film/{{Zombieland}}''. When he meets [[spoiler:Bill Murray]] he drops the badass and starts {{Squee}}-ing like a fangirl.
-->'''Tallahassee:''' There's, like, six people left on the planet and one of 'em is ''[[spoiler:Bill Fuckin' Murray!!!]]''
* ''Film/GhostbustersAfterlife'' has a two way example. Podcast is a big fan of supernatural goings-on, conspiracy theories, and other paranormal stuff, including the original Ghostbusters' heroics. It's the topic of his podcast! It has one regular subscriber...[[spoiler: Ray Stanz himself]]!
* In ''Film/WhoFramedRogerRabbit'', Roger himself is a ''very'' big fan of WesternAnimation/{{Goofy}}, despite being a big-name AnimatedActor himself and Goofy being from a rival studio in-universe. Enough so that when he and Eddie hide in a movie theater that happens to be playing a Goofy cartoon, Roger is in utter ''hysterics'' in laughter, loudly singing his praises for Goofy as a performer.
-->'''Roger:''' Boy, did you see that?! ''Nobody'' takes a ''wallop'' like Goofy! What timing! What finesse! What a ''genius!''
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Literature]]
* In one ''ComicBook/{{Batman}}'' short story, "Fat Tuesday", a man wears a Batman costume to Mardi Gras, because Batman is his hero. He is kidnapped by a local gangster, but the real Batman saves him. The real Batman was dressed up as ''his'' hero, Franchise/{{Zorro}}. Which is a bit of {{lampshad|eHanging}}ing as Zorro is basically what Batman was based on.
* ''Literature/TheChroniclesOfNarnia'': A much more restrained than usual version of this is seen with Caspian in ''Literature/PrinceCaspian''. The film less so.
* In ''Literature/TheDinosaurLords'', Dinosaur Master extraordinaire Rob Korrigan has several moments of fanboy glee when he sees famous Master and cavalry commander Karyl Bogomirskiy in combat, even though Karyl is fighting for the enemy side.
* ''Literature/{{Discworld}}'': At the end of ''Literature/TheLastHero'', Cohen and the Silver Horde meet Fingers Mazda, the Literature/{{Discworld}} version of [[Myth/GreekMythology Prometheus]], in this manner. All Mazda understands is that some old guys just freed him from the chains that kept him bound to a rock where an eagle would come eat his liver [[spoiler: and handed him a sword]].
* In ''Literature/TheDivineComedy'', we see [[AuthorAvatar Dante]] completely forgetting the fact that he's somehow ended up in [[FireAndBrimstoneHell Hell]] because ohmygosh, ''it's Creator/{{Virgil}}!'' Also, in ''Purgatorio'', Statius is also excited to meet Virgil. (Indeed, as an author, Dante was inspired by his work.)
* ''Literature/TheDresdenFiles'': Harry Dresden, meet Kris Kringle a.k.a. Santa Claus [[spoiler:a.k.a. Donnar Vadderung a.k.a. Odin]]. His date laughs at him for being such a fanboy.
* The protagonist of the ''Literature/TheGreatDivorce'' begins to gush with admiration when he realizes he's met Creator/GeorgeMacdonald, until the latter stops him, pointing out he's familiar with his own biography.
* Many, ''many'' characters behave this way toward Gilderoy Lockhart in ''Literature/HarryPotter and the Chamber of Secrets'', to the point where Harry -- the actual hero of the series -- gets forced to spend detention helping the man answer his fan mail. Lockhart's general incompetence, though, implies that he doesn't deserve his fame; he eventually reveals that [[spoiler:he made a career out of finding people who did impressive things, [[LaserGuidedAmnesia wiping their memories]], and claiming he did those things himself. Right afterward, in a fit of irony, Lockhart [[HoistByHisOwnPetard blanks his own memory while trying to blank Ron and Harry's memories]]]]. Ron and Harry never seem to mention his secret to anyone, so Lockhart's fame is mostly intact.
* Creator/DianaWynneJones' ''Literature/TheMagids'': Ted Mallory, Nick's (adoptive) dad, is a big-name fantasy author and a detective novel fanboy.
* According to the fourth ''Literature/{{Noob}}'' novel, Fantöm, Omega Zell's idol, admits to have started playing by admiration for Mist, who was the top player before getting overshadowed by his rival's mentor.
* In ''Literature/SuperPowereds'', even [[HealingHands Hallow]], a jaded ex-hero who retired and used his powers to become insanely rich, is still awestruck to meet Captain Starlight.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Live-Action TV]]
* In ''Series/TheBigBangTheory'', Dr. Sheldon Cooper is considered by many to be one of the world's great scientific minds, but he still has plenty of idols. He gets to meet some of them over the course of the show: Creator/StephenHawking, Creator/StanLee, and Creator/JamesEarlJones, to name a few. It's most pronounced when he learns that "Professor Proton", the host of a ScienceShow that he watched as a kid which turned him on to a career as a scientist, is still available for hire. Sheldon and Leonard book him to do a show for them in their apartment and spend much of the episode gushing over him, despite the fact that he's basically just a washed-up old man at this point.
** Sheldon himself has met several fangirls and fanboys who relish his career as a scientist. Including one of Amy's dates, much to her chagrin.
* ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'': In probably the only case when it happened between a hero and a villain, Buffy squeed pretty hard when she met {{Dracula}}. In fact, everyone squeed at Dracula. The Showrunners described the metaphor for that episode as "A rock star comes to town".
-->'''Buffy:''' Okay, who are you? \
'''Mysterious Caped Figure:''' I am sorry, I assumed you knew. I am Dracula. \
'''Buffy:''' ''[a sinister zoom-in on her stunned face, until she suddenly smiles like crazy]'' ''Get out!'' \
''[SmashCut to Opening Credits]''
* On an episode of ''Series/{{Castle|2009}}'', the normally hard-nosed Detective Kate Beckett can hardly contain herself when she meets Joe Torre (formerly of the New York Mets), even gushing, "That was Joe freakin' Torre!" after he leaves. She immediately goes to call her father to tell him.
* ''Series/DoctorWho'': Time travel creates lots of opportunities.
** In [[Recap/DoctorWhoS3E8TheGunfighters "The Gunfighters"]], Steven and Dodo literally {{squee}}d when they found out they were in the Old West.
** The Doctor, on meeting Creator/CharlesDickens in [[Recap/DoctorWhoS27E3TheUnquietDead "The Unquiet Dead"]], Creator/WilliamShakespeare in [[Recap/DoctorWhoS29E2TheShakespeareCode "The Shakespeare Code"]], Creator/AgathaChristie in [[Recap/DoctorWhoS30E7TheUnicornAndTheWasp "The Unicorn and the Wasp"]], Creator/VincentVanGogh in [[Recap/DoctorWhoS31E10VincentAndTheDoctor "Vincent and the Doctor"]] …
** The Doctor and Rose meeting Queen Victoria in [[Recap/DoctorWhoS28E2ToothAndClaw "Tooth and Claw"]]. To the point that she ends up rather unimpressed with how un-seriously they took the MonsterOfTheWeek.
** [[Recap/DoctorWhoS28E3SchoolReunion "School Reunion"]]: The Doctor and former companion Sarah Jane Smith are thrilled to see each other again after a long time apart. It was also a real-life example, as David Tennant admitted the reason he's grinning like a madman throughout the episode is that he got to act alongside Creator/ElisabethSladen, who he grew up watching on the show.
** The Doctor, in [[Recap/DoctorWhoS28E4TheGirlInTheFireplace "The Girl in the Fireplace"]]: "I just snogged Madame de Pompadour!"
** In the special [[Recap/DoctorWho2007CiNSTimeCrash "Time Crash"]], the Tenth Doctor fanboys over ''himself'' (the Fifth Doctor). By the end, it's pretty clear [[RealitySubtext that it's really]] Creator/DavidTennant and Creator/StevenMoffat [[AwesomeDearBoy who are doing it to]] Creator/PeterDavison. Even more HilariousInHindsight considering Davison is now Tennant's father-in-law.
--->'''10th Doctor/David Tennant:''' Cause you know what, Doctor? You were ''my'' Doctor!
** [[Recap/DoctorWhoS30E16TheWatersOfMars "The Waters of Mars"]] does an interesting one when the Doctor meets Adelaide Brooke, captain of the first human base on Mars, in [[ExtyYearsFromPublication 2059]]. To him, she's another historical figure he particularly admires, and he hates that her death is a ForegoneConclusion he can't prevent without breaking the laws of time. The audience, not being Time Lords, can't really appreciate this in the same way, whereas it's very obvious how much the Doctor wants to save her, so it's easy to be tempted along with him -- which is of course [[YouCantFightFate the point]].
** [[Recap/DoctorWhoS31E3VictoryOfTheDaleks "Victory of the Daleks"]]: As Amy travels in an elevator with Winston Churchill pontificating away, she's wearing a huge grin that lasts until they get to the roof and she sees London under the Blitz. Then it sinks in that she really is in the middle of World War II.
** Amy and one-shot companion Riddell are both quite excited about meeting Queen Nefertiti in [[Recap/DoctorWhoS33E2DinosaursOnASpaceship "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship"]].
** Clara squees when she meets Robin Hood in [[Recap/DoctorWhoS34E3RobotOfSherwood "Robot of Sherwood"]].
** [[Recap/DoctorWhoS37E3Rosa "Rosa"]]: The Doctor, Graham, Ryan, and Yaz are thrilled when they run into Rosa Parks, although she's just confused. Later, Ryan goes to Rosa's house and meets Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., prompting another thrilled reaction.
** [[Recap/DoctorWhoS37E5TheTsurangaConundrum "The Tsuranga Conundrum"]]: The Doctor is briefly thrilled when she meets General Cicero, who's quite famous in the 67th century. Cicero returns the gesture when she learns she's talking to the Doctor.
** [[Recap/DoctorWhoS38E4NikolaTeslasNightOfTerror "Nikola Tesla's Night of Terror"]]: The Doctor is awed to meet UsefulNotes/NikolaTesla, although Yaz and Ryan suffer from a degree of PopCulturalOsmosisFailure and don't know much about him. Tesla, for his part, is very impressed by the Doctor's intelligence, and the two later bond over how it feels to invent something.
* ''Series/GameOfThrones'':
** Ser Alton Lannister fanboys obsessively over his cousin, Ser Jaime 'Kingslayer' Lannister when the pair end up imprisoned together by the Starks. [[spoiler: Ser Jaime responds to his adoring cousin by ''beating him to death'' as part of his plan to escape imprisonment.]]
** Renowned warrior Jaime Lannister admits on multiple occasions to idolize LivingLegend Ser Barristan Selmy and that he made a fool out of himself as a boy when he got to be the squire of Ser Barristan for a day. Also, his facial expressions indicate he's quite impressed by Oberyn's fighting skills when he duels the Mountain.
* On his first appearance on ''Series/GhostHunters'', Meat Loaf is squeeing over getting to investigate with TAPS while they are squeeing over getting to meet him.
* In "The Examination for Lieutenant" from the ''Series/HoratioHornblower'' miniseries, Horatio is, if not a complete hero yet, then surely an up-and-coming rising star of an officer in the Royal Navy. He squees -- well, he almost squees, because he's a shy and solitary boy -- when he meets Captain "Dreadnought" Foster, who is a LivingLegend. Foster enjoys his admiration and is taken with the young acting lieutenant. Horatio ends up disillusioned when he finds out that Foster breaks rules and concludes that he doesn't care much for the lives of his crew.
* ''Franchise/KamenRider'':
** ''Film/KamenRiderXSuperSentaiSuperHeroTaisen'' seems to portray SixthRanger Gai as a Kamen Rider fan.
** ''Series/KamenRiderFourze'': After learning that he's the latest part of a decade-spanning legacy of heroes, Gentaro Kisaragi becomes a fan of the earlier Kamen Riders and promptly adds them to his list of people he's going to befriend (along with [[MagneticHero everyone on Earth]]). In ''Film/KamenRiderXKamenRiderFourzeAndOOOMovieWarMegamax'', he gets to meet his two immediate predecessors (Series/KamenRiderDouble and Series/KamenRiderOOO) and the Seven Legendary Riders, and fanboys all over every one of them. In the Hyper Battle DVD, he dissolves into InelegantBlubbering when he thinks that Series/KamenRiderAmazon has stood him up and has to be reassured that Amazon isn't that kind of person.
* On ''Series/TheLordOfTheRingsTheRingsOfPower'', Galadriel brings Halbrand in Eregion to treats his wounds with Evish cures. There, he meets for the first time Celebrimbor and expresses a childlike enthusiasm upon seeing the TrueCraftsman he heard so much about it. "The Celebrimbor?"
* On the TV side of the Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse:
** In ''Series/AgentsOfSHIELD'' it's revealed that this is pretty much how everyone at SHIELD feels towards Coulson. Especially after he got brought back from the dead following the events of ''Film/AvengersAgeOfUltron''. Though it's on a lesser scale compared to how much they all idolize Nick Fury, obviously. The present-day agents also show a lot of respect towards [[Series/AgentCarter Peggy Carter and Daniel Sousa]].
** [[Series/MsMarvel2022 Kamala Khan]] is a huge fan of the Avengers, especially Carol Danvers. She listens to Scott Lang's podcast and attends [[FanConvention AvengerCon]]. The trailer for ''Film/TheMarvels2023'' shows she's also a huge admirer of Nick Fury.
** [[Series/Hawkeye2021 Kate Bishop]] is a huge fan of Clint Barton after he saves her life during [[Film/TheAvengers2012 the Chitauri attack on New York]].
* On ''Series/MurdochMysteries'', Detective Murdoch, our hero who loves science and uses various applications and gadgets during his investigations, is always delighted or thrilled to meet famous inventors and scientists, but he absolutely fan-boys over some of them, like when he meets Nicola Tesla, Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Alva Edison, or especially Guglielmo Marconi, whom Murdoch met when he was setting up his wireless telegraph experiment in Newfoundland.
* ''Series/OddSquad'':
** Olympia idolizes both Otto and Olive, and whenever she gets a chance to interact with them, expect her to fangirl to excessive extremes. In "First Day", it's implied that she often strives to be just like them. The ''WebVideo/{{OddTube}}'' episode "Interview with Olive" confirms this, with Olive telling her to BeYourself and explaining how she has a lot of potential to be a good agent, which makes her fangirl hard enough to (literally) explode with joy. ''Film/OddSquadTheMovie'' has her meeting both of them in person for the first time, and she becomes so starstruck that she can't even form a coherent sentence and has to have Otis introduce her, in addition to himself, and explain her behavior. In the ''[=OddTube=]'' episode "Welcome to [=OddTube=] Season 2!", it's also revealed that she idolizes Orla, albeit to a far lesser extent than Olive and Otto.
** Not even Olive herself -- known for being no-nonsense -- is immune to having idols and fangirling over them. While she is in awe of Santa Claus and Shmumberman when meeting them in person, her biggest idol by far is Coach Roberts, the coach of the various Burly Bears sports teams, which she also idolizes. She ends up becoming an AscendedFangirl in "Bad Luck Bears" when she gets a chance to play on the Bears basketball team, and in "Disorder in the Court" when it's revealed that Coach Roberts is her teacher in the sport of javelin throwing.
** Otto absolutely ''adores'' the boy band Soundcheck, to such an extent where he has a StalkerShrine of them comprised of a room he dubs his "Soundcheck Room". Olive doesn't share his enthusiasm in the slightest, up until "Disorder in the Court" when she begins to have a love/hate relationship with the band. Like his partner with Coach Roberts, Otto becomes an AscendedFanboy and gets a chance to sing with them on multiple occasions.
** Similarly, Opal, Omar and Oswald also admire Soundcheck, freaking out when they meet the band for the first time, with Opal even saying that they want to be them when they grow up. Orla, on the other hand, doesn't idolize them at all, and is unnerved by her teammates' excitement. She's also the one to inadvertently break up the band when she asks them what activities they like to do together, and shows no remorse for doing so.
** In "Train of Thoughts", it's revealed that Oswald's hero is Detective Shmumbers, a detective in a similar vein to ''Literature/NancyDrew'' who is the main character of the book series of the same name. Throughout the episode, he wears an outfit similar to hers, and is excited to solve a mystery on a train passing through North Dakota regarding train cars being attacked with odd objects, similar to what she did in ''Crime on the Shmumberland Express,'' the first book in the series. However, his love of Detective Shmumbers and her stories clouds his judgment and he ends up being wrong in thinking that the culprit is following a number pattern, as is the case in all of the series' books. Instead, it's Orla who figures out that the culprit, Rainbow Robin, is working in a color pattern.
* In the various ''Franchise/PowerRangers'' {{reunion show}}s, the current team will sometimes fanboy the previous, longer-established team. In fact, the [[Series/PowerRangersLostGalaxy Galaxy Rangers]] even referred to the [[Series/PowerRangersInSpace Space Rangers]] as simply "the Power Rangers" while fanboying. Of course, everyone practically ''drools'' over [[BreakoutCharacter Tommy]], and [[Series/PowerRangersWildForce Cole]] went even more gaga over [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers the original Red Ranger, Jason]].
* In ''Series/PrettyGuardianSailorMoon'', Usagi is a big fan of Minako Aino, who also happens to be Sailor V's real identity, though Usagi doesn't find this out until ''very'' late on in this version.
* He's less obvious than most examples, but Cam Mitchell is definitely one of these at the beginning of Season 9 of ''Series/StargateSG1''. So much so, in fact, that he spends all of his time PuttingTheBandBackTogether rather than enjoying his newfound command.
* ''Series/{{Star Trek|TheOriginalSeries}}'':
** Kirk himself is no stranger to this trope. In [[Recap/StarTrekS3E22TheSavageCurtain "The Savage Curtain"]], he pretty much acted the same way when he got to meet UsefulNotes/AbrahamLincoln. In the same episode, Spock briefly showed emotion when he meets Surak, "the father of Vulcan civilization" as Spock describes him. (But he quickly deduces that Surak, like Lincoln, is not truly real.)
** Not quite a squee, but Kirk is clearly in awe when Vulcan elder T'Pau arrives at the ceremony in [[Recap/StarTrekS2E1AmokTime "Amok Time"]].
* ''Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration''
** While somewhat restrained, many of the senior staff, and Picard in particular, are thrilled when the ''Enterprise-D'' gets to briefly host [[Recap/StarTrekTheNextGenerationS3E23Sarek Sarek of Vulcan]].
** In the episode [[Recap/StarTrekTheNextGenerationS6E4Relics "Relics"]], the crew is amazed to meet the original Miracle Worker himself, Montgomery Scott. La Forge, being the chief engineer of this ship, is especially taken with him. It sours a bit, however, with the crew (and Scotty himself) coming to regard him as a bit of a [[TitleDrop relic]]. But then Scotty does what he did 80 years ago all the time and helps save the ''Enterprise'', and he's promptly regarded as the Miracle Worker again, and Picard even gifts him a shuttle.
** In the episode [[Recap/StarTrekTheNextGenerationS6E15Birthright ''Birthright'']], the ''Enterprise-D'' visits Deep Space Nine, where Dr. Bashir meets Data. He's wide-eyed with awe at coming face-to-face with the Federation's most sophisticated artifical life-form and spends the rest of their conversation happily geeking out.
* ''Series/StarTrekDeepSpaceNine''
** Episode [[Recap/StarTrekDeepSpaceNineS05E06TrialsAndTribbleations "Trials and Tribble-ations"]]
*** He has to be subtle about it to avoid violating the Temporal [[AlienNonInterferenceClause Prime Directive]], but Ben Sisko is pretty darn squeeful about getting to meet [[TheKirk Captain Kirk]].
*** Of course, everyone was doing some sort of squeeing over the TOS crew (or at least the big three). O'Brien was pretty proud that he spoke to Captain Kirk (even if he lied to his face), and even Worf said "It would be an honor to meet him" in a tone that can only be described as the Klingon equivalent to squeeing. Upon seeing Kirk and Spock, Dax says "he's much more handsome in person," to which Sisko brings up Kirk's reputation as a ladies' man before Dax specifies she was referring to Spock.
** Worf has met 3 of his personal heroes, Kahless, Kor, and Martok (the real one), and while Klingons don't exactly squee per se, his reaction on meeting all of them has been more of the aforementioned Klingon equivalent. He gets major respect from even the highest ranked Klingons.
* ''Series/StarTrekVoyager''
** Janeway's interaction with the Leonardo da Vinci hologram also had this vibe. Likely due to the fact that Janeway is a scientist, while Leonardo literally is ''the'' scientist.
** The crew come to view Lt. Reginald Barclay, himself a bit character on ''TNG'', this way after he managed to get a Starfleet message to them for the first time in four years.
* ''Series/Supergirl2015'': Part dorkiness, part hero worship of her [[ComicBook/{{Superman}} cousin]], Supergirl tends to get ''really'' excited meeting other superpowered heroes.
* Dean Winchester on ''Series/{{Supernatural}}'', hunter of demons and everything else scary that goes bump in the night, squees when he meets his favorite TV character, Dr. Sexy, M.D., after being TrappedInTVLand by The Trickster [[spoiler: aka The Archangel Gabriel]]. However, it turns out that Dr. Sexy [[spoiler: isn't real]] -- Dean is such a fan that he figures out Dr.Sexy [[spoiler: is a fake by noticing that his hero is wearing sneakers instead of cowboy boots.]]
** He's also very excited to meet Eliot Ness. Although Ness is everything Dean could have hoped for, any reference Dean makes to ''Film/TheUntouchables1987'' falls flat. He's ultimately disillusioned about the movie, but not the man.
** Dean really has a tendency to fanboy. In the episode ''Scoobynatural'', the boys get sucked into a ''Franchise/ScoobyDoo'' episode. It's hard to call his reaction to the Scooby Gang anything less than a full-episode-long squee.
* ''Franchise/SuperSentai'': In ''Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger,'' SixthRanger Gai is a complete and total Franchise/SuperSentai fanboy, and will flip out whenever he meets one of the older team members (and then ask for an autograph). On a couple of occasions they have fun with this; when he meets [[Series/BakuryuuSentaiAbaranger Abaranger's]] Yukito he fanboys, but then he sees Emiri and says "...And somebody I don't know!", and when the team meets [[Series/ChourikiSentaiOhranger Ohranger's]] Momo Maruo, she herself fangirls a little.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Professional Wrestling]]
* Wrestling/ZackRyder tends to mark out uncontrollably whenever he gets a main eventer to appear on ''WebVideo/ZTrueLongIslandStory''. Especially [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcNRLNfc3Zk&t=280 John Cena]].
* Generally believed to be what was going on when Wrestling/DeanAmbrose was caught on camera [[{{Corpsing}} smiling]] when [[spoiler:Jake "The Snake" Roberts placed the new Damien on him]].
* On April 8, 2019, Wrestling/AllysinKay posted [[https://twitter.com/Sienna/status/1115246828738555904 this picture]] of herself doing her "Pinkies Up" pose with Wrestling/StanHansen, and suggesting the {{Pun}}ny alternate caption "I Stan."
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Video Games]]
* Miles Edgeworth in ''VisualNovel/AceAttorney'' is a huge fan of in-universe fictional character the Steel Samurai. While he's rather reserved in actually expressing his feelings about the franchise, he loves it enough to tell actor Will Powers that he's a fan of his work in a live action ''Steel Samurai'' series...immediately after acting as the prosecutor when Powers is put on trial for murder.
** The later spin-off ''VisualNovel/AceAttorneyInvestigationsMilesEdgeworth'' gives players a peek into Edgeworth's inner monologue, where his love for the show is uncensored and on full display.
** Throughout the aforementioned murder trial, Phoenix's assistant Maya openly squees over not only Powers himself, but just about everything they come across while investigating the studio where the ''Steel Samurai'' show is filmed.
* Trucy Wright in ''VisualNovel/ApolloJusticeAceAttorney'' over the Gavinners, despite the fact that Gavin is actually their opponent in court. Apollo himself has some fanboyish tendencies concerning Phoenix Wright.
* Altaïr, protagonist of the first ''[[VideoGame/AssassinsCreedI Assassin's Creed]]'', has a mild fanboy in Ezio, protagonist of the [[VideoGame/AssassinsCreedII next]] [[VideoGame/AssassinsCreedBrotherhood three]] [[VideoGame/AssassinsCreedRevelations games]]. They never actually meet, because they were born three centuries apart, but Ezio adopts Altaïr as his mentor and tries to follow in his footsteps and learn from his mistakes.
* In the PlayableEpilogue of ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamKnight'' [[spoiler: after Scarecrow outs Bruce Wayne as Batman, some of the mooks you can encounter are geeking out that this effectively means they've met Bruce Wayne. Being reminded that these “meetings” involved him beating the crap out of them does nothing to curb their enthusiasm]].
* Amusingly comes up in ''VideoGame/BlazblueCrossTagBattle'' when [[Franchise/{{Blazblue}} Ragna the Bloodedge]] and [[WebAnimation/{{RWBY}} Ruby Rose]] are placed on a team together. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bT4C4yZ-Mjk See here]].
* Tanizaki Jun'ichirō and Nagai Kafū are this to each other in ''VideoGame/BungoToAlchemist''; they are both accomplished and famous writers, but they both hold each other's works in high regards, with the former being a staunch FanBoy and the latter having many positive evaluations about the former's works.
** Dazai Osamu may be one of the go-to names in Japanese literature and very arrogant about his accomplishments (when he's not depressed), but even he has an object of admiration in Akutagawa Ryūnosuke.
* This is the reaction VideoGame/ViewtifulJoe has when he meets the [[VideoGame/TatsunokoVsCapcom Tatsunoko]] and [[VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcom3 Marvel]] heroes in the [[VideoGame/CapcomVs Capcom]] crossovers.
** In ''VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcom3'', Hsien-Ko is seemingly delighted to have met Arthur, 'the most famous demon hunter in the biz.'
* Nico, Nero's DemonSlaying business partner in ''VideoGame/DevilMayCry5'', is normally a skilled but haughty weaponsmith who won't take crap from anyone, not even her seniors as Lady experiences firsthand. But then she meets the legendary Dante, whereupon she goes into fangirl mode, stuttering her praises for Dante, giving him a Devil Arm as a gift, and enjoying [[Funny/DevilMayCry5 the impromptu Michael Jackson concert he gives soon after]].
* Adell of ''VideoGame/Disgaea2CursedMemories'' is a huge fan of [[CuteMute Pleinair]], who is a news anchor in that game. Also, in ''VideoGame/Disgaea3AbsenceOfJustice'', Mao and Almaz are HUGE fans of Super Hero Aurum. Even Mao's [[CardCarryingVillain Card Carrying Villainy]] can't stop him from gushing over the Super Hero when he enters his house.
* ''Franchise/DragonAge'':
** In the ''VideoGame/DragonAgeOrigins'' expansions ''[[VideoGame/DragonAgeOriginsAwakening Awakening]]'' and ''Witch Hunt'', companions Sigrun and Ariane have this reaction to the Warden if he/she is a casteless Dwarf or a Dalish Elf, respectively. The Warden is a FolkHero to all of Ferelden, but a Warden from those backgrounds obviously has a special appeal to individuals from those two (historically much-persecuted) groups.
** ''VideoGame/DragonAgeII'':
*** Charade Amell has this reaction to Hawke, after discovering that her long-lost cousin is the Champion of Kirkwall she had grown up hearing tales about. Hawke later receives a very squee-filled letter full of questions, making it clear she's something of a fangirl.
*** Hawke also receives this from Tallis in ''Mark of the Assassin'', especially if begun after Act 2 and if Hawke earned the respect of the Arishok. This is because [[spoiler: Tallis is actually a Qunari agent and explains that rather than revile Hawke for defeating their leader, all Qunari now know and respect Hawke as an honourable WorthyOpponent]].
*** If importing a save with the Human Mage Warden from ''Origins'', several conversations make it clear that Hawke's family are very proud and huge fans of their second cousin. As an Apostate who often finds her magic a curse, Bethany especially is amazed that a ''Mage'' became the saviour of Ferelden.
** ''VideoGame/DragonAgeInquisition'':
*** Sutherland is an upstart adventurer and a total fanboy of the [[PlayerCharacter Herald of Andraste]]. Should you take him under your wing, he [[TookALevelInBadass takes multiple levels in badass]], assembles his own RagtagBunchOfMisfits and goes on to complete several crucial missions for the Inquisition.
*** Blackwall certainly has no end of squee for the Grey Wardens, of whom he is a member. [[spoiler:It counts because he ''isn't'' a member of the Grey Wardens, really has no clue what the Grey Wardens are about, and is following his KnightInShiningArmor perception of them as a mean of [[TheAtoner atoning]] for his sins.]]
* ''VideoGame/FateExtellaLink'' has a literal example in Charlemagne. Despite being an esteemed KnightInShiningArmor, a famous emperor, and a powerful Servant in his own right, he's super excited to meet other Servants for the first time as his appearance in SE.RA.PH is his first summoning. He's especially stoked about meeting other knights of legend like King Arthur's Knights of the Round Table and constantly gushes over how cool all of his allies are. His fanboying manages to embarrass Robin Hood, who [[InSeriesNickname Charlie]] mistakes for Sir Richard of Locksley. Even after the fact, Charlie continues to praise Robin's {{Combat Pragmatis|t}}m as resourcefulness rather than deceit.
* Snow the snow leopard from ''VideoGame/DustyRagingFist'', who's a badass soldier in his own right... until he meets Leo, the legendary leonine demolitions expert.
--> '''Snow''': It's ''the'' Leo!... would you sign my sniper rifle, please?
* ''Franchise/FinalFantasy'':
** ''VideoGame/CrisisCore'': Zack Fair goes all fanboy at the idea of meeting Sephiroth. "I get to meet a real hero!" After actually meeting Sephiroth, he settles down. Sorta.
** In ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyX'' Auron gets quite a bit of this since he's the most famous living Guardian in Spira. Played for laughs when even Bartelo, the dimwitted Guardian of [[TheRival Dona]] gushes about what an inspiration Auron is.
* ''Franchise/FireEmblem'':
** Normally stoic, calm and composed General Seth of ''VideoGame/FireEmblemTheSacredStones'' is looked up to by Franz (who is a rookie knight, but a knight nonetheless). Seth in turn speaks rather highly of Garcia as a former commander of the Renais army, and while he doesn't show it too openly, he's also quite delighted when Garcia joins their group. His support conversations with Franz reveal that he also looked up to Franz's late father when he was a squire, surprising the younger knight.
** In ''VideoGame/FireEmblemRadiantDawn'', Sothe, despite being a highly skilled rogue, still fanboys immensely over badass Ike. This quote from ''his prospect girlfriend'' Micaiah shows the level of his [[http://i53.tinypic.com/1zxsdh4.jpg admiration.]]
* In the first installment of ''VideoGame/GalaxyAngelII'', Ranpha Franboise, one of the heroines of the original ''VideoGame/GalaxyAngel'' trilogy (who depending on the route may also be or not the one who saved the galaxy along with Tact), reacts like a fangirl when she meets Kahlua Marjoram, as the latter is a famous witch in planet Magiic. Notable because Kahlua is also one of Ranpha's juniors as an Angel Wing pilot.
* In ''VideoGame/HeroesOfTheStorm'', [[VideoGame/{{Overwatch}} D.Va]], a former professional ''VideoGame/{{Starcraft}}'' player, reacts with joy at fighting alongside heroes from that series. Especially Kerrigan.
-->'''D.Va''': Kerrigan?! You're real?! ''I'm such a huge fan!!''\
'''Kerrigan''': ...uh...thanks?
* Canderous of ''VideoGame/KnightsOfTheOldRepublic''. Like many Mandalorians, he [[ArsonMurderAndAdmiration absolutely gushes over Revan, the Jedi who defeated them]]. Cue TheReveal that [[spoiler:he's been working with a mindwiped Revan]]. Light or dark, he vows to follow Revan to the end.
* NASCAR is a religion for ''VideoGame/Left4Dead2'''s Ellis. And Jimmy Gibbs Jr. is the one true savior.
-->"Only the greatest stock car racer of all time. Try readin' a book sometime!"\
"Aw, shit, we missed him? You know what, that's the last straw. [[AnythingButThat These zombies have just made themselves an enemy]]."\
"That man is [[SeriousBusiness an American hero]]."\
"If the laws of nature would allow it, I would [[EvenTheGuysWantHim bear that man's children]]."
* Prince Sidon in ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaBreathOfTheWild'' is a Zora warrior who has his share of fangirls squeeing over how handsome and brave he is. Sidon absolutely squees over Link, whom he remembers as the Hylian Champion with a considerable amount of skill with the Master Sword. [[spoiler: It also helped that Sidon's sister, Mipha, was in love with Link and was planning to marry him after Ganon was defeated 100 years prior to the game. Despite the marriage not happening due to Mipha's death, Sidon still sees Link as a valuable ally and friend with a bit of an "almost BestFriendsInLaw" dynamic.]]
* In ''VideoGame/LegoMarvelSuperHeroes2'', Kamala Khan needs to ''calm down''.
-->'''Kamala Khan:''' We get ''Spider-Man'' on our team?! ''This is so cool.''\
'''White Tiger:''' [facepalm]
* ''Franchise/MassEffect'': [[PlayerCharacter Commander Shepard]] gets this from time to time, since Shepard's already a badass with a rep in [[VideoGame/MassEffect1 the first game]]. In [[VideoGame/MassEffect2 the second]], Shepard's only the savior of the entire galaxy. One could almost argue that there's less squeeing over Shepard than there should be. Especially since Shepard's back from the dead. Though given the memorials to the Commander on a half dozen planets, Shepard's home colony adopting Shepard's face as their official logo, and (according to one news report) raging extranet arguments about what Shepard's return means, you can say things are pretty Squee-ish. If you chose the Paragon ending in the first game the turian weapons dealer on the Citadel positively ''gushes'' over Shepard. Even before completing his loyalty mission, it's clear that the tankborn mega-krogan [[BloodKnight Grunt]] has nothing but [[UndyingLoyalty total respect for Shepard and is infuriated whenever anyone insults Shepard in any way or spits on his/her name]].
** In ''VideoGame/MassEffect3'', it's clear that Shepard is quietly awed by the fact they've discovered a Prothean who's been in stasis for 50,000 years. This is, however, quickly overshadowed by the sheer amount of squee emanating from Liara, leading Shepard to suggest she handles asking their questions since she looks like she's about to explode.
-->'''Joker''': So has Liara stopped bouncing yet? I'm guessing there may have been some bouncing.
* Numerous times in ''VideoGame/MetalGear'':
** In ''VideoGame/MetalGear2SolidSnake'', Snake fanboys over Natasha Markova/Gustava Heffner, who was [[RealMenWearPink a women's figure skater he likes]].
** In ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid2SonsOfLiberty'', he can't resist fanboying over Peter Stillman, either, while Raiden is having messy fangasms over the thought of meeting Snake.
** And in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosBrawl'', he and Otacon fanboy over Captain Falcon for some reason that is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RM1TOJuGGh8&feature=related never fully explained ]].[[note]]Not that it needs explanation.[[/note]] Snake also shows deep respect for Mario and Luigi.
* ''VideoGame/MinecraftStoryMode'': Despite being a rather famous adventurer herself, Petra still carries this attitude towards [[spoiler:Jack]] in "Hero in Residence".
* General Sanshi of ''VideoGame/NamuAmidaButsuUtena'' concerning his mentor and idol Tamonten. After being treated to a dose of DefeatMeansFriendship and becoming Tamon's disciple, he is loyal to and admires "Tamon-sama" to the point of obsession and is fiercely protective of him. Similarly, Nanda Ryūō, super proud dragon king as he is, is obsessed with Shaka Nyorai and is ''heavily'' suggested to also be ''[[AmbiguouslyGay sexually attracted]]'' to him. These two's recollection with each other where they fanboy-out and rave about their respective idols together is as hilarious as one would expect.
* The Ouendan of the Japanese game ''VideoGame/OsuTatakaeOuendan'' appear wherever they are needed, sometimes for a reason. In ''Ouendan 2'', a pop star is kidnapped, and the Ouendan are there to support fans in reclaiming him because they clearly are fans themselves.
* Two of the playable characters in ''VideoGame/{{Overwatch}}'' are established to be famous in-universe. Lúcio is a musician and D.Va a competitive gamer. Other characters will remark on their fame and even ask for autographs. Amusingly, Lúcio and D.Va are mutual fans of each other.
* In ''VideoGame/Persona4'', despite regularly diving through television screens and battling the physical embodiment of people's suppressed selves, Yosuke can't help being completely starstruck when teen idol, "Risette" comes to town. Also, in the game's sequel, ''VideoGame/Persona4Arena'', Chie comes to admire Akihiko so much that she starts to call him her master.
* In ''VideoGame/{{Psychonauts}}'', Raz is a big psychonauts fanboy and really looks up to them; Agent Cruller in particular. Lili is also shown to be a bit of a fangirl herself.
* Ratchet of ''Franchise/RatchetAndClank'' is like this a few times. He treats Captain Qwark as one (until he realises [[MilesGloriosus he's not so great]], reacts with awe towards a hoverboard champion and is rather excited that the spaceship he is stationed on has a gamestation in the third game.
* ''VideoGame/RealityMinds'': Astrake and Udir want to become Cielcanto soldiers out of admiration for the soldier who saved their life. [[spoiler:They get a chance to talk to that soldier, Deak, who is proud of how far they've come. Downplayed with in that while Astrake successfully enlists, Udir missed his chance for the year due to being kidnapped, though Rasheed plans to help Udir join faster due to being impressed by the latter's skills.]]
* ''VideoGame/RedDeadRedemption''! It's hard not to hear a hint of squee in John Marston's voice when he meets Landon Ricketts.
* The Player Character from ''VideoGame/SaintsRowTheThird'' reacts in this way when meeting the current mayor of Steelport: [[spoiler: Burt-FUCKING-Reynolds.]]
* ''VideoGame/ScarletNexus'': Yuito is this for Kasane, for having saved his life as a child in what’s eventually shown to be TimeTravel. Yuito constantly compares himself to the person who saved him before that discovery, her being the reason he joined the OSF, as well as being the cause of his love for the mascot Baki (he saw one on her belt).
* In ''[[VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosForNintendo3DSAndWiiU Super Smash Bros. for Wii U]]'', an EasterEgg conversation reveals [[VideoGame/KidIcarusUprising Pit]] to be a huge fan of [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Mario]]. Also, he, Palutena, and Viridi are all massive fans of Franchise/MegaMan.
* Morgan [=LeFlay=], Mighty Pirate Hunter in ''VideoGame/TalesOfMonkeyIsland'' is a fangirl of Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate despite her occupation. She is [[BrokenPedestal more than a little disappointed]] to find out Guybrush operates more through {{Indy Ploy}}s, [[KleptomaniacHero picking up anything that might be useful]], and ''avoiding'' epic fights through clever trickery than the badass pirate she seems to have thought he was.
* ''VideoGame/{{Undertale}}'':
** Papyrus is a goofy AllLovingHero skeleton who looks up to the Captain of the Royal Guard, Undyne.
** Undyne, in turn, is a HotBlooded fish lady who is a huge fan of Gerson, the crazy old turtle archaeologist who was apparently a hero in the war.
* Dean from ''VideoGame/{{Wild ARMs 5}}'' over his "hero", Nightburn.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Webcomics]]
* Catholic cartoonist Jason Bach uses this trope as the basis for a strip about the theological continuity between [[http://www.jasonbachcartoons.com/catholic-14.html Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII.]]
* In ''Webcomic/GuildedAge'', one of the first things we learn about Penk, who later becomes [[spoiler:the leader of the Champions,]] is that he looks up to Harky and considers him a hero.
* Villainous example from ''Webcomic/{{Homestuck}}'': despite being an omniscient, nearly omnipotent "first guardian" of Alternia, Doc Scratch is apparently a big fan of ''Webcomic/SweetBroAndHellaJeff'', bringing up many of the same Memes that the rest of the cast does. [[spoiler:There is actually a very good reason for this: He was made in part from a magic cue ball and one of Bro's puppets, and Dave (who wrote [=SBaHJ=] in-universe) has a similar sense of humor to Bro.]]
** Also, many of the post-scratch Trolls are huge fans of their respective ancestors, and when they finally meet them, squeeing ensues. Except for Karkat, who, true to his nature, thinks his ancestor is a hypocritical tool.
** ''[[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Karkat]]'', [[HairTriggerTemper of all people]], really looks up to Jack Noir[[spoiler: /Spades Slick]].
--> '''CG:''' WE'RE NOT EXILING JACK, HE'S COOL.
--> '''GC:''' [=K4RK4T=], H3 1S NOT [=TH4T=] COOL!
--> '''CG:''' YES HE IS, HE'S A [[AxCrazy TOTAL BADASS]] WITH A FUCK TON OF BLADES AND SHIT, AND [[TheStarscream HE'S HELPING US OUT]].
* Lisa of ''Webcomic/MechagicalGirlLisaANT'', to the point of being completely oblivious that her idol Pink Flash is a [[DarkMagicalGirl dangerous foe]].
* Another rare case of it happening between villain and hero, Hitlerella was ''very'' excited to meet [[WebComic/TheNonAdventuresOfWonderella Wonderella's]] mom (the [[LegacyCharacter original Wonderella]]) when [[http://nonadventures.com/2010/05/08/die-a-mothers-day/ her daughter brought her along on a Mother's Day outing.]]
* ''Webcomic/TheOrderOfTheStick'': Roy meeting his grand-father in the afterlife. Roy is also quite fanboyish when meeting with Creator/GaryGygax earlier -- probably channeling the author there. Given that Gygax was one of the people primarily responsible for the setting that Roy exists in, this reaction is entirely justified -- he could only get closer to meeting his maker if Rich Burlew drew himself in. Later, Laurin subverts it: she remembers how much of a fan of Julio she had been, but that had been when she was younger.
* [[https://shortpacked.com/comic/batman-trained-for-years-to-be-the-best-at-not-being-able-to-distinguish-reality-from-fiction Batman meeting the Grey Ghost]] in ''Webcomic/{{Shortpacked}}''. Grey Ghost bears some resemblance to the Crimson Avenger (DC's first 'super' hero) whose modus shared some similarities with Batman, so it's not too hard to imagine this scene actually taking place.
* In ''Webcomic/TheSpecialists'', [[http://thespecialistscomic.com/page-81/ Max to Captain Victory]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Web Original]]
* [[WebVideo/TheBlockbusterBuster Eric Rodriguez]] did a countdown of the Top 10 Voice Over Actors. Not only did two of the actors mentioned in the list watch the video and tweet about it to their followers (Creator/RobPaulsen and Creator/TaraStrong), but Rob actually emailed Erod to tell him how much he loved the video.
* Alloy from ''Literature/TheDescendants'' to the point where he has to be told to control himself when meeting other heroes by his teammates.
* The Blog/KnightsOfFandom are an online group of fangirls and fanboys who unite for the dual purposes of being huge fans of whatever they enjoy and fighting cyber-bullying. Their Tumblr account invokes this trope by name ("[[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin We are the Knights who say 'Squee'!]]"), and they certainly lived up to the trope when Creator/GreyDeLisle joined their ranks.
* After Creator/DougWalker did a [[WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic Nostalgia Critic]] tribute to Siskel and Ebert, Creator/RogerEbert tweeted about how much he liked it; Doug had that tweet printed out and framed for his wall. He was also very enthused to have the creative team of ''WesternAnimation/{{Animaniacs}}'' on for a tribute to their show.
** He had a similar moment when, during "Conquest of the Commercials", [[spoiler: Don Bluth made an appearance]] to give the Critic a DeathGlare for his previous rants.
* Ruby Rose from ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'' has dreams of becoming a Huntress. When she meets Glynda Goodwitch, an active Huntress, she {{Squee}}s and asks for an autograph.
* Aquerna and some of the other Underdogs of Whateley Academy in the Literature/WhateleyUniverse have a fan club for Fey. This is really embarrassing for Fey since she's their age and still in high school.
* After he returned from E3 2017, [[LetsPlay/YoVideogames Maximilian Dood]] told his livestream that FightingGame legends like Akira Nishitani[[note]]the designer behind ''VideoGame/StreetFighterII'' and ''VideoGame/FinalFight''[[/note]] and Katsuhiro Harada[[note]]the chief producer of the ''VideoGame/{{Tekken}}'' series[[/note]] came up to him to say they were fans of his work and appreciated everything he'd done to promote interest in fighting games, which utterly stunned him because he owed so much of his life to the work they'd done. He also mentioned that FGC legend Daigo Umehara asked for a picture with him, and when he looked the picture up online later was amused to discover that Daigo had referred to him as "Max-sempai".
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Western Animation]]
* The ''WesternAnimation/AdventureTime'' episode "His Hero" featured Finn and Jake idolizing a great hero called Billy (Jake: "I wanna be the dog ''you'', Billy!"). At the end of the episode, after they restore his faith in heroism, he declares them ''his'' heroes and they squee out so hard he gets really uncomfortable and has to ask them to leave.
* The titular ''WesternAnimation/{{Archer}}'' had this reaction when he met Burt Reynolds, though his excitement quickly turned to horror when he found out that his hero was dating his mom.
* Katara of ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'' is a total Jet FanGirl for one episode. Hey, AllGirlsWantBadBoys. She loses her capacity to squee harder than most examples here when she learns that he's not just bad, he's a narrow-minded jingoist who considers killing a town full of innocent Earth Kingdom civilians a ringing success for the rebellion, just because there happens to be a Fire Nation camp nearby. In the SequelSeries ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'', Bolin is a pretty big fan of Toph and Zuko due to their actions in the original series. He completely squees when he actually meets Zuko and Toph in person, and [[spoiler:having Toph compliment him for being able to lavabend is a bigger deal to him than actually being one of the ''very'' few people to even be capable of lavabending in the first place]].
* The ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries'' episode "[[Recap/BatmanTheAnimatedSeriesE18BewareTheGrayGhost Beware the Gray Ghost]]" had Batman showing [[TheStoic as much squee as he is capable of]] upon meeting the actor of a childhood TV hero, the "Gray Ghost", who seems to have inspired some of the Batman persona. [[AdamWesting Played by]] Creator/AdamWest as a ShoutOut to earlier incarnations of Batman. This was a reflection of what happened behind the scenes -- the creators were so adamant that West be cast in the role of the Gray Ghost that, if he hadn't been able to do so, the entire episode would have been scrapped.
* ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheBraveAndTheBold''
** ComicBook/BlueBeetle spends most of his time in awe of ComicBook/{{Batman}}. He's also fanboyed over previous ComicBook/BlueBeetle Ted Kord and [[ComicBook/{{Aquaman}} AQUAMAN]].
** And Bats himself to Franchise/SherlockHolmes, in the episode where he went back in time. At the end of that episode, Holmes asks how he knew who he was. "Everyone knows who you are. You're the world's greatest detective." (World's Greatest Detective is usually a title given to Batman.)
** The Joker is in awe that the old man who is weeping next to him in a bar for super losers is no one less than The Weeper, the greatest villain of all time who now has fallen in hard times! The Joker sings The Weeper's praises with some {{Take That}}s because well, he ''is'' [[JerkAss The Joker]]:
--> Hold the trolley! I know those crocodile tears. You're The Weeper! [[HowTheMightyHaveFallen You used to be big]]. [[TheAce The greatest villain of all time...]] [[UrExample You invented super criminal shtick as we know it!]] [[RedBaron They called you the Crying Crime King]], [[{{Idiosyncrazy}} the first villain to use a signature motif in all your crimes. Sheer genius!]] [[FollowTheLeader Why, I even modeled myself after you. I just went in another direction, of course.]] [[HowTheMightyHaveFallen Whatever happened to you?]]
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Beetlejuice}}'':
** In "Poe Pourri," Lydia goes all fangirl over meeting Edgar Allen Poe in the Neitherworld.
** And also in "Ghost to Ghost" when she meets the ghost of her favorite actor, Boris [=ToDeath=]... That is until she finds out that [[spoiler:he's trying to scare her family out of their house [[ItMakesSenseInContext so he can turn it into a "Home for Bad Actors"]]]].
* ''WesternAnimation/Ben10AlienForce''
** Ben squeals like a fangirl when he sees a commercial for a new live-action "Sumo Slammers" movie.
** In one episode, Ben's girlfriend said the reason she didn't get jealous when a movie star kissed Ben was that "he's gotta bigger crush on [[BrokenPedestal Captain Nemesis]] than he does on Jennifer Nocturne".
* A bizarre example happened in the ''WesternAnimation/CodenameKidsNextDoor'' episode "Operation: T.R.A.I.N.I.N.G." After Tommy bluffed Father (the BigBad of the show) into thinking his autograph book was the Code Module, Father seemed pretty excited to see that it had Numbuh 362's autograph in it, despite the fact that she's his ArchEnemy.
* In ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'', a villainous example is given with the Green Bay Packers fanatic Vlad Masters.
* In the ''WesternAnimation/DarkwingDuck'' episode "[[Recap/DarkwingDuckS1E48InLikeBlunt In Like Blunt]]", Darkwing is gleeful when J. Gander announces that S.H.U.S.H. intends Derek Blunt to work with him on the project. He has apparently seen all the movies about him, tries his hardest to impress him and only begins getting irritated when Blunt continually (and insultingly) brushes off his best efforts.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Freakazoid}}'' goes complete fanboy [[ItMakesSenseInContext when he meets]] ''[[Series/ThisOldHouse Norm Abram]]'', of all people.
-->"Cosgrove, he's a normal, regular guy just like everyone--[[SuddenlyShouting NORM ABRAAAAAM!]] I'M TOUCHING NORM ABRAM! I'M HUGGING NORM ABRAM! I'M HOLDING NORM ABRAM ABOVE MY HEAD!"
* Early in ''WesternAnimation/{{Gargoyles}}'', Lexington is excited to meet [[ShowWithinAShow The Pack]]... [[FanDisillusionment until they try to kill him]].
* Dipper Pines, co-protagonist of ''WesternAnimation/GravityFalls'', becomes a modestly successful amateur paranormal investigator with the help of a mysterious [[BigBookOfEverything journal]]. When he eventually meets the journal's author, he forgets all about the crisis he was facing just a moment before and gets so excited and nervous that he feels physically ill.
* ''WesternAnimation/InspectorGadget''
** Penny did this in an episode where everyone's favorite detective family has to protect a rock and roll star.
** Plus there is one where a MAD agent also happens to be Gadget's favorite actress.
* ''WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague'':
** [[ComicBook/{{Shazam}} Captain Marvel]] finally meets his idol Superman, only to discover that he's nothing like he thought he would be. After Supes beats the tar out of him, destroying the "reformed" ComicBook/LexLuthor's new city in the process, he resigns from the now understandably repentant JL with the words, "You just don't act like heroes." Contextually, the Big Blue's attitude had a lot to do with recent events. [[spoiler:It didn't help that Luthor had gone out of his way to make things look suspicious to Supes so he'd go off half-cocked, thus soiling the League's reputation.]] The same happens with the Ultimen before that.
** Green Lantern John Stewart was a big Justice Guild fan when he was a kid.
* ''WesternAnimation/JusticeLeagueAction'': In "Freezer Burn", when Mr. Freeze invites Killer Frost to Gotham City for a VillainTeamUp, Frost gets really excited and says she is Freeze's biggest fan. Unfortunately, this turns into a BrokenPedestal moment when Freeze betrays her.
* In ''WesternAnimation/KimPossible'', Frugal Lucre is a villainous version, driving Dr. Drakken to distraction with his hero-worship when they're stuck in prison together. After they get out, Lucre makes a pest of himself again by seeking out Drakken as a mentor.
* In ''WesternAnimation/KungFuPandaLegendsOfAwesomeness'', Shifu's pretty unyielding when you first meet him... but even ''he'' can't help himself when one of his idols visits town. At one point, desperate to earn the admiration of a reclusive master who traveled via box, Shifu accidentally set him loose when it turned out the guy ''really'' didn't get out much and was thrilled to be out of the box. He'll even pen letters asking what a legendary warrior looks for in a bestie [[SincerityMode (and yes, that's the actual word he used)]]. And when he tries to make sure Po doesn't visit the local action figure convention, [[BlatantLies claiming his Dragon Warrior responsibilities forbid it,]] it's only because [[spoiler:''he'' likes to go there too and doesn't want to be seen by anyone he knows]]. When finally forced to 'fess up, [[spoiler:his admission is priceless]].
* The ''[[WesternAnimation/LegionOfSuperHeroes2006 Legion of Super-Heroes]]'' over [[ComicBook/{{Superman}} Clark Kent]] in the animated series. With Brainiac 5, it never stopped, and we had scenes of [[UnwinnableTrainingSimulation Danger Room-like sessions]] with Brainy heroically stopping the bad guys, being fatally wounded, and [[DiedInYourArmsTonight dying in the arms of Superman.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/MollyOfDenali'': In "Molly and the Great One," Tooey and Walter are both starstruck by Mac, the extreme sports star of ''[[ShowWithinAShow Macventures]]''.
* ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'':
** Rainbow Dash is a very skilled flier, winner of many awards, implied to be ''the fastest living being on the planet''[[note]]excluding Pinkie Pie, who has access to OffscreenTeleportation[[/note]], and bearer of the Element of Loyalty, but she's still a total {{fangirl}} of the Wonderbolts and hopes to join them someday.
** She has a similar reaction when meeting Daring Do.
** Rainbow Dash eventually fulfills her dream of joining the Wonderbolts and finds out they are all fans of ''her'', in awe of her flying prowess and how often she and her friends have saved Equestria.
** Twilight Sparkle, TheHero of the series and one of the most powerful magical practitioners in all of Equestria, is this to its BigGood, [[TheHighQueen Princess]] [[GodEmperor Celestia]]. In fact, it was a display of Celestia [[PaintingTheFrostOnWindows magically raising the sun]] that first inspired Twilight to take up the study of magic as a filly.
* In ''WesternAnimation/ThePenguinsOfMadagascar'' episode "The Red Squirrel" Skipper, Kowalski, and Rico all squee over meeting and working with the legendary Special Agent Buck Rockgut. Skipper even claims to have "patterned his whole life" after Rockgut. [[spoiler:Their enthusiasm fades when he accuses first Private then Kowalski of being the villainous Red Squirrel.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/StarVsTheForcesOfEvil'':
** In "Starstruck", Princess Star Butterfly has this reaction to meeting the legendary warrior Mina Loveberry, to the point of begging Mina to train her. Turns into a BrokenPedestal moment when Mina is revealed to have gone insane and then attempts to conquer Earth.
** In "Friendenemies", Marco Diaz, an avid martial artist, has this reaction to meeting action star Mackie Hand and gets to PassThePopcorn when Mackie gets into a fight with several theater security guards.
* ''WesternAnimation/StaticShock'': Static is quite excited every time he [[CrossOver meets another superhero]]. No BrokenPedestal for him, either -- they collaborate quite well. The closest thing was discovering that Batman is [[GoodIsNotNice not very friendly]], but Robin assures him that it's not personal, and they come to an understanding.
** There was a definite BrokenPedestal moment when he met Green Lantern John Stewart. However, that was quickly resolved upon learning the Lantern Static ''thought'' he'd met was Sinestro impersonating him.
** Same with Superman in another episode, not to mention both he and Gear getting their minds blown when the Justice League itself asks for their help in their crossover episode (well, Static's help, anyway.)
* ''WesternAnimation/TheSuperheroSquadShow'' depicts Iron Man as a big fan of Nick Fury in the episode "From the Atom... It Rises!" He is very elated to meet Nick Fury and especially pleased when he stealthily signs his armor.
* ''WesternAnimation/SushiPack'':
** The members of the Sushi Pack fall into this occasionally. In "The World's Tastiest Heroes", Ikura fanboys over all the superheroes on [[ShowWithinAShow "The World's Biggest Heroes"]] and even gets backstage passes to the show. The superheroes all turn out to be [[PrideBeforeAFall horrible braggers]] and just laugh at the Pack when Ikura introduces them as heroes, too.
** In "Yam Yakkers," Ikura and Wasabi are looking forward to getting the autograph of the actor playing Aquabot-boy, and while Tako claims to be a fan of Aquabot-boy, not the actor, he still does a happy dance when he gets an autograph, too.
* ''WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2003''
** Mikey often feels this way regarding established super-heroes, such as Silver Sentry and the Justice Force.
** Donatello gets a moment like this every now and then. Most notable is in the third episode when April mentions that she used to be employed by Stocktronics and -- by extension -- Baxter Stockman. [[BrokenPedestal This pedestal breaks within five minutes, with little fanfare.]] There's also an episode that sets up to this, with Don telling Mikey about how a monster hunter is an accomplished biologist and psychologist... but also a "Certifiable nut-case!"
* ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans''
** Raven and Starfire basically dissolve into a puddle of gently {{Squee}}ing goo when they first meet Aqualad.
** Everyone sans Starfire drools over Val-Yor to a scary degree, trusting the stranger to the point of joining an off-planet mission of his ''way'' too quickly. Then it turns out [[spoiler:he's [[FantasticRacism speciesist]] and hates Tamaraneans]], immediately souring their opinion of him.
** The [[WholeEpisodeFlashback flashback]] [[OriginsEpisode origins]] episode has Beast Boy's be very excited to meet Robin, who was (of course) already famous due to being Batman's sidekick.
* Happens a lot on ''WesternAnimation/TotallySpies''. And to WesternAnimation/TheAmazingSpiez whenever they meet the originals.
* Like his MCU counterpart, Agent/Principal Phil Coulson in ''WesternAnimation/UltimateSpiderMan2012'' is an unabashed squeeing fanboy of Captain America. When Spidey accidentally disrobes him in a training session, he is seen wearing Captain America boxers.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Wakfu}}'':
** Sadlygrove Percedal greatly idolizes his mentor Goultard. Though ironically back when the two met, Sadlygrove was the only person not to know Goultard in a town populated by fanatic fans of the legendary warrior.
*** To add it to the irony, Sadlygrove is Goultard's father and gave him the power that made him a legendary warrior.
** Amalia Sheran Sharm, despite being herself a heroine and a princess, can easily turn into a complete {{fangirl}} around renowned people, like the Justice Knight or the Masked Gobbowler.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Real Life]]
* Allegedly, Gabe and Tycho of ''Webcomic/PennyArcade'' and Creator/KarenTraviss (best known for her ''WessHar'' books and ''Literature/RepublicCommandoSeries'' novels) reacted this way to one another when they read each other's blogs and found out they were fans of one another.
* When Creator/MarkHamill and Creator/MauriceLaMarche first met, Maurice hoped that he wouldn't fanboy-out at meeting [[Franchise/StarWars Luke Skywalker]]. Only for ''Mark'' to fanboy-out at meeting [[WesternAnimation/PinkyAndTheBrain the Brain]]!
* In the 1993 NHL playoffs, the Los Angeles Kings eliminated the Vancouver Canucks in the second round. During the team handshake, [[WhatCouldPossiblyGoWrong up-and-coming]] young Canuck star Petr Nedved asked his idol, the Kings' UsefulNotes/WayneGretzky, for his stick as a souvenir. Needless to say, [[WhatTheHellHero Vancouver fans were not amused]] at the antics. For [[MoneyDearBoy completely]] [[ItsAllAboutMe different]] [[GreenEyedMonster reasons]], this actually turned out to be his final act as a Canuck.
* Reportedly, one of the New York firefighters doing rescue work in the wake of the 9/11 attacks had a complete fanboy moment upon discovering that one of the volunteers serving them food and water was none other than Creator/KevinConroy of ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries'' fame. Even cooler, the firefighter then asked Conroy to say something in his Batman voice. And then it gets even ''better than that'': the entire room heard the famous Batman voice and then EVERYBODY {{Squee}}d!
* Similarly, more than one volunteer helping out after the Touhoku Earthquake/Tsunami of 2011 apparently had had similar reactions when they found out that the famous seiyuu Creator/NorioWakamoto (who actually was a policeman before becoming a voice actor) was among them.
* Creator/TimAllen and Buzz Aldrin mutually fanboyed each other when they had an opportunity to meet.
* Movie stars and astronauts always make for good mutual squee-bait. During the filming of ''Film/{{Apollo 13}}'', Jim Lovell and Fred Haise visited the commissary and were awe-struck by all the big-named stars walking around. The stars, meanwhile, were used to seeing each other every day but reacted with "ZOMG, Apollo astronauts!" at Lovell & company.
* French comedian [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamel_Debbouze Jamel Debbouze]] and French soccer star [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zinedine_Zidane Zinedine Zidane]] are complete fans of each other. It shows whenever they're invited together on television.
* The author of the song "Monster Mash", Bobby Pickett, wrote it as a tribute to Boris Karloff. One day he happened to run across Boris Karloff -- buying a copy of the song, [[ApprovalOfGod which he loved.]] They exchanged autographs.
* An excerpt from ''Growing Up Brady: I Was a Teenage Greg'' by Barry Williams, about his time on ''Series/TheBradyBunch'':
-->[Following a story about a time when Henry Kissinger visited the set.] By now you ''must'' have asked yourself, "Why on earth would Henry Kissinger go out of his way to visit "The Brady Bunch?" The answer, quite simply, is that he was trying to impress his daughter. She was a big "Brady" fan, and when she asked her father if he might arrange for her to meet us, he simply made a phone call, blew off an afternoon full of globally significant meetings, and arranged for the visit. I still find it nothing short of amazing that a man who was arguably the single most powerful politician in the world needed ''The Brady Bunch'' to impress his kid -- sort of an eerie commentary on the power of the tube and its significance on the lives of American children.
-->An even more blatant example of the egregiously potent power of "The Bunch" came when astronaut James [=McDivitt=] appeared on the show in a cameo role. [=McDivitt=] had piloted both NASA's Gemini 4 and Apollo 9 missions, and he had been to the ''moon'', for chrissake; but when he got to our set, the first words out of his mouth were "Boy, being on ''The Brady Bunch'' is gonna make me a ''hero'' at my house."
-->Scary, very scary.
* Creator/RudyardKipling was a huge fan of Creator/MarkTwain and went out of his way to visit him on a trip to America.
* Monkey Punch (creator of Manga/LupinIII) upon finally meeting Mort Drucker of ''Magazine/{{MAD}}'', who was one of his major artistic influences and basically his hero. Though there was a LanguageBarrier, {{Omniglot}} Jan Scott Frazier was able to help them communicate.
* Creator/DavidTennant, easily in the running for "most beloved [[Series/DoctorWho Doctor]] of all time", found himself incapable of doing anything other than squeeing like mad upon meeting his childhood idol Creator/ElisabethSladen, aka Sarah Jane Smith. He openly admitted that "it was always the Doctor and Sarah" and that working with her was a lifelong dream come true, and called her "the one true assistant". The fanboying is easily visible in every scene they share.
** Tennant and Creator/PeterDavison too, who he got to work with in "Time Crash". Davison's Fifth Doctor is the version that Tennant watched while growing up. The dialogue sounds less like the Tenth Doctor fanboying over the Fifth Doctor and more like [[LeaningOnTheFourthWall Tennant fanboying over Davison]]. He even points out several aspects of his performance that were inspired by Davison.
** Adding a whole new dimension to the above example since Tennant is now married to Davison's daughter Georgia Moffett...
** Tennant has also expressed excitement upon meeting Dame Creator/JulieAndrews.
---> '''Tennant:''' Whatever else happens in my life, I just met Julie Andrews!
* Julie Andrews would elicit a similarly starstruck reaction from Music/LadyGaga at the Oscars in 2015, coming out on stage after the latter performed a medley of songs from ''Theatre/TheSoundOfMusic'' for the film's 50th anniversary. Andrews would confirm the feeling was mutual.
* Senator Elizabeth Warren, formerly an outspoken but otherwise unassuming consumer advocate, has become a hero of the liberal left in American politics and a rallying point for anti-corporate-welfare activists all around the nation. But when she joined forces with UsefulNotes/HillaryRodhamClinton to introduce Senator John Kerry at his confirmation hearing for Secretary of State, she spent [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=X03L_taGRb0 most of the time she wasn't talking]] gazing at Clinton like she couldn't believe she was sharing a table with the most famous woman in the history of American politics. Even before then, during her Democratic Convention speech, Warren called Clinton "one of the coolest women on this planet."
* Although they never met, it is said that when Creator/FyodorDostoevsky finished reading ''Literature/AnnaKarenina,'' he went running through the streets shouting, "[[Creator/LeoTolstoy Tolstoy]] is a genius!"
* Beloved fantasy author Creator/TamoraPierce, on giving up writing comics only to be asked to help write a miniseries for ''ComicBook/RedSonja'' by the legendary Creator/GailSimone: "I know, I know, I swore off comics, but when the splendid Gail Simone asks, what's a girl to say but ::wagging tail thump thump thump:: 'Sure, Gail, sure! Which way should I go? Which way should I go?' ::tongue hanging out, tail bumping furniture::"
* Creator/NoahAntwiler of ''WebVideo/TheSpoonyExperiment'' has expressed great fondness and admiration for Richard Garriott, creator of the ''{{VideoGame/Ultima}}'' series, calling him a "god of geeks" in his review of the original ''Ultima''. Then when he got a sit-down interview, Garriot admitted to being a fan of Noah's.
* Tyrese Gibson, during a convention appearance shortly before the release of the ''Film/{{Transformers|2007}}'' live-action movie, admitted to Creator/PeterCullen that he'd never had a dad growing up, but he ''did'' have Optimus Prime.
* Creator/FeliciaDay has tweeted that the highlight of every party is seeing Creator/NathanFillion.
* Happens in UsefulNotes/MixedMartialArts often. Up and coming fighters end up fighting their idols. Sometimes their fan worship can cost them the fight.
** After their first bout, Georges St-Pierre revealed he was incredibly nervous to fight his idol Matt Hughes, to the point he couldn't even look him in the eye in the stare down. He said this played into him losing the bout.
** St-Pierre, one of the all-time greatest pound-for-pound fighters, also had a memorable moment of schoolgirl-esque InelegantBlubbering when he met his idol, Creator/ArnoldSchwarzenegger, after a fight. Unlike Christopher Lee, GSP ''actually'' knelt.
** Travis Browne was such a fanboy of Mirko Cro Cop that he went out to dinner with him the night before the fight and was hanging out with him. At one point in the fight, he had knocked him down and ''helped him back up'' rather than jump on him to finish him. And then, he got knocked down and beat himself.
** Although they would after the bout be bitter rivals until the rematch (when they became friends), BJ Penn revealed years later Jens Pulver was his favorite fighter and idolized him, and that played tricks on his mind when he fought (and lost to) him the first time.
* The suicidally brave, decorated war hero [[WarriorPoet Siegfried Sassoon]] claims he acted like a complete fangirl upon meeting [[Film/LawrenceOfArabia T. E. Lawrence]].
* When Creator/JenniferLawrence was being interviewed after she won the Oscar for Best Actress for ''Film/SilverLiningsPlaybook'', Creator/JackNicholson just so happened to be behind her. [[http://youtu.be/WJmhsJ5T5L0?t=21s Cue her fangirling upon him "interrupting" her interview.]] And [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcAikYUSCGI here]] is a video from Comic-Con of her getting so shy when she sees Creator/JeffBridges, that she initially runs.
* Creator/ChristopherLee, upon meeting Creator/JRRTolkien: "I almost ''knelt.''"
* Music/MilesDavis and [[Literature/SonnysBlues James Baldwin]]. They became good friends somewhere in the 60s, as told in ''Miles: The Autobiography'':
-->I remember being in awe of [Baldwin] because he was so goddamn heavy, all those great books he was writing, and so I didn't know what to say to him. Later, I found out that he felt the same way about me. But I really liked him right off the bat and he liked me a lot, too. We had great respect for one another. He was a very shy person and I was, too. I thought we looked like brothers. When I say both of us have a shyness I mean [[ReclusiveArtist an artistic kind of shyness, where you are wary of people taking up your time]]. I saw this in him, saw that he was aware of it. But here I was with James Baldwin, in my motherfucking house. I had read his books and loved and respected what he had to say. As I got to know Jimmy we opened up to each other and became real great friends. Every time I went to southern France to play [the jazz festival of] Antibes, I would always spend a day or two at Jimmy's house in St. Paul de Vence. We would just sit in that great big beautiful house of his telling all kinds of stories, lying our asses off. Then we would go out to that wine garden he had and do the same thing. I really miss seeing him now when I go to southern France. He was a great man.
* During the 1992 Summer Olympics, it was a common thing for the US Men's Basketball Team for opposing teams to queue up for autographs and photos. These were teams the Dream Team would routinely beat by [[CurbStompBattle fifty points or more.]] But this was also a team full of NBA living legends -- UsefulNotes/MichaelJordan, Ervin "Magic" Johnson and Larry Bird, in particular.[[note]]To put this in perspective, Jordan, Johnson, and Bird (along with Wilt Chamberlain) comprised the contemporary short list of "Best Basketball Player Ever". And outside of Chris Mullin (then considered to be the league's best pure shooter and an eventual hall of famer) and Christian Laettner (the then-reigning college Player of the Year), the others were ''all'' on the NBA Top 50 of All-Time list.[[/note]]
* Creator/MarkRuffalo's [[http://markruffalo.tumblr.com/post/108275814510/get-a-load-of-paul-rudd-as-ant-man-im-looking fanboying]] over Creator/PaulRudd is now well-known.
* Wanna watch the multi-Emmy-winning, world-renowned comedian and political satirist Creator/JonStewart turn into a blushing, squeeful fanboy? Put him in the same room as Music/BruceSpringsteen, grab a bucket of popcorn, and enjoy.
* Creator/TyronePower couldn't believe his luck when he was going to be acting alongside Creator/NormaShearer in ''Marie Antoinette'':
-->''"...I quietly pinched myself. Anyone in my shoes would've done the same. I discovered on reading the script that I had to kiss Miss Shearer in the opening scene. Rather, she had to throw her arms around my neck and kiss me. I was supposed to [[PostKissCatatonia act dumbfounded.]] I didn't have to act."''
* In the first volume of his diaries, Creator/MichaelPalin recounted at how during the time ''Series/MontyPythonsFlyingCircus'' was on the air, he was walking down the street one night when he saw a familiar face, and just as he was about to say something, Music/GeorgeHarrison broke out into a smile, walked over to Palin, shook his hand, and started gushing over him. As Palin recounted, he was going to do the same thing to Harrison at first.
** As both Harrison and Palin are "[[UsefulNotes/KnightFever Members of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire]]"[[note]]An MBE isn't as powerful as a KBE, however[[/note]], coupled with the fact Palin was the actual Knights who Say Ni in ''Film/MontyPythonAndTheHolyGrail'', this may be a Main/TropeCodifier example!
* During the early days of filming Peter Jackson's adaptation of ''Film/TheLordOfTheRings'', there was a good deal of fanboying going on with the younger actors for the older, bigger name actors; a few examples of which are caught on the behind-the-scenes videos included in the collectors' edition releases. Interestingly, one example includes a milder version of this of Creator/IanMcKellen being this for Creator/ChristopherLee, who was the target of much of it in general, including from Jackson himself. This was taken to a whole different level with the predominantly male cast and staff when Creator/CateBlanchett and Creator/LivTyler were on-set for their part.
** Creator/ViggoMortensen was apparently a favorite of the stunt crew, and according to interviews, the feeling was mutual. Actually, just about the entire cast idolized the main stunt crew because they went well above the call of duty for this movie: donning extensive prosthetics and doing a not inconsiderable amount of actual acting in order to portray the orcs and uruk-hai, as well as the Corsairs. This movie required stunt team and cast to work very closely together, which also led the stunt team to greatly respect the cast but they held their squeeing. At the end, they decided to show their respect for the director and cast by doing the Haka, which elicited tears and salutes from many.
* After his (possibly apocryphal) meeting and conversing with Creator/{{Laozi}}, the philosopher Creator/{{Confucius}} described him as such: "I know how birds can fly, fishes swim, and animals run. The runner may be snared, the swimmer hooked, and the flyer shot by the arrow. But there is the dragon: I cannot tell how he mounts on the wind through the clouds, and rises to heaven. Today I have seen Lao-tzu, and can only compare him to the dragon."
* Creator/SidneyPoitier frequently got tongue-tied when working with Creator/SpencerTracy and Creator/KatharineHepburn on ''Film/GuessWhosComingToDinner''.
* Creator/ElizabethOlsen has stated [[http://wandamaximorf.tumblr.com/post/143400977799/elizabeth-olsen-star-wars-bonus numerous times]] that she's a huge ''Franchise/StarWars'' fan. She started crying on the red carpet [[http://eilzabetholsens.tumblr.com/post/143485748969/elizabeth-olsen-crying-after-seeing-mark-hamill at the premiere]] of ''Film/CaptainAmericaCivilWar'' when she found out that Creator/MarkHamill was there.
* Creator/SteveJobs took his love to the next level by dating Music/JoanBaez.
* Happens a lot when famous musicians meet at the annual UsefulNotes/RockAndRollHallOfFame induction ceremony. Look at 1999, in particular: Music/BillyJoel is inducted by his idol/former collaborator Music/RayCharles and is left momentarily stunned when he gets up to the podium. Happens to Bruce Springsteen when he jams with Wilson Pickett (When Pickett says he's wanted to play with Bruce for a long time, he's in shock). And it happens to both of them (as well as [[Music/{{U2}} Bono]] and Music/EricClapton) when they play "Let It Be" with Music/PaulMcCartney.
* In 2016 Music/BarbraStreisand released an album of duets with movie stars, called "Encore!" The short promotional videos for it include, among other squee moments, Creator/ChrisPine admitting that he was so stunned to be invited to sing with Streisand that he forgot to ask whether she meant a whole album or just one song.
** Creator/DaisyRidley acted about the same.
* Creator/LinManuelMiranda and damn near every celebrity he meets. It's typically mutual -- there's actually a large mural of Alexander Hamilton that every celebrity who sees ''Theatre/{{Hamilton}}'' signs backstage. One particular example that ties into that: Hamilfan Cecily Strong impersonated Lin for a skit on ''Series/SaturdayNightLive.'' He hosted the following week, and -- as documented on Twitter -- basically showed Cecily the time of her life in gratitude (capped off, of course, with her signing the Hamilton mural).
** Related to that, ''Hamilton'' star Jonathan Groff apparently nearly ''died'' of happiness when he met {{Music/Beyonce}}. The Lin-Man himself documented it on Twitter.
--->'''Beyoncé:''' Did you play the king?\
'''Groff:''' Yes.\
'''Beyoncé:''' I'm stealing your walk. I love your walk.\
'''Groff:''' ''(inarticulate sounds)''
* Though they didn't share any screen time together, Creator/MarkHamill was thrilled when he met Creator/PeterCushing while filming the very first ''Franchise/StarWars'' film, ''Film/ANewHope''. Cushing was amazed at how much Hamill admired him, including knowing his film debut had been the Creator/LaurelAndHardy short ''A Chump at Oxford''.
* On ''Series/TheGrahamNortonShow'', Creator/EmiliaClarke was seated next to Matt [=LeBlanc=] -- [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAzZuf8UgRo and turned into a giggling, blushing fangirl.]] She even asked him to [[Series/{{Friends}} ask her how she's doing!]]
* ''Series/ParksAndRecreation'' star Adam Scott [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdKA-giE8k8 once recalled]] on ''Series/JimmyKimmelLive'' the time he invited Creator/MarkHamill to his 2nd grade birthday party by writing him a letter, then giving it to his mother -- and never got a response (he'd jokingly tweeted Mark about this years later, then [[https://twitter.com/hamillhimself/status/583069080799686656?lang=en the latter responded]]). Then two years later on the same show (on May the Fourth, no less!), Adam recalled this story again -- [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7kT1JDdoJQ then Mark himself crashed the interview to surprise him while wielding a lightsaber]], then apologised for not coming to his birthday party. If you look closely, you can see Adam's hands shaking out of excitement.
-->'''Adam:''' This is -- this really is one of the -- one of the best moments of my life.
* When the ''Film/WaynesWorld'' version of Music/{{Queen}}'s "Bohemian Rhapsody" was released, Creator/MikeMyers hated that they had spliced scenes from the movie into the music video, comparing it to "whizzing on a Picasso", and wrote to the band to apologize. They wrote back to thank him for using the song; his reaction was "Thank you for letting me touch the hem of your garment!".
* [[LetsPlay/YoVideogames Maximilian Christiansen (AKA Max Dood)]] came back from EVO 2017 and told his audience that FightingGame legends like Akira Nishitani (who helped create ''VideoGame/StreetFighterII'' and ''VideoGame/FatalFury''), Katsuhiro Harada (the man currently in charge of ''VideoGame/{{Tekken}}'') and Daigo "The Beast" Umehara were coming up to him, shaking his hand, asking for pictures, and saying how much they enjoyed his videos (Daigo even referred to Max as "my sempai" when he posted the picture online). Max said that he found this all utterly stunning since these are all people he greatly admires himself.
* At the 2018 Golden Globes, Music/KellyClarkson is being interviewed on the red carpet by Ryan Seacrest when she realises that Creator/MerylStreep is ten feet away from her. [[https://youtu.be/6BQKGK4SIKw See what happens for yourself.]]
* Creator/MinamiTanaka and Creator/RieTakahashi are '''huge''' fans of ''VideoGame/FateGrandOrder'', as well as voice actresses for the game. They also host the Chaldea Radio show where other F/GO voice talents regularly guest. Whenever a seiyuu does a voice from the game they react more as fans than as fellow VA's.
* In a [[https://www.forbes.com/sites/olliebarder/2016/05/21/arc-system-works-and-its-fighting-game-legacy-its-all-about-the-cool/#793996487762 2016 interview with Forbes]], ''Franchise/BlazBlue'' creator Toshimichi Mori revealed that he was a fan of ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'' and would love to make a fighting game based off of it[[note]]''[=BlazBlue=] Centralfiction'' contains a reference to the show, with Es, Izayoi, Taokaka, and Bullet having alternate palettes based off of Team RWBY[[/note]]. Creator/RoosterTeeth saw the article and got in touch with Creator/ArcSystemWorks, which lead to the creation of ''VideoGame/BlazBlueCrossTagBattle'', a full-fledged CrossOver between ''[=BlazBlue=]'', ''RWBY'', ''VideoGame/Persona4Arena'' and ''VideoGame/UnderNightInBirth''.
** Appropriately enough, when he was alive, Creator/MontyOum was himself a big fan of [=ArcSys=]'s games, saying that ''VideoGame/GuiltyGear'' and ''[=BlazBlue=]'' were major influences on ''RWBY''.
* In a 1995 episode of [[Series/TheOprahWinfreyShow her talk show]], Creator/OprahWinfrey paid tribute to Creator/MaryTylerMoore, citing Mary's [[Series/TheMaryTylerMooreShow eponymous show]] as a big influence when she first went into TV news. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CERxvqEGrxE Then Mary walked into the studio.]]
* At Salt Lake Comic Con 2017, a fan to author Jim Butcher recounts his own squee moment when he last met Jim a few years back and asks Jim about the time he might have squeed himself when he met a hero of his own. Jim immediately recounts when he was New York Comic Con 2008, he was in the green room and in walks Stan Lee. He was practically hyperventilating at the sight of the comic legend. See his full recounting [[https://youtu.be/Js2pG5ell5s?t=2857 here]].
* Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry (judges on ''Series/TheGreatBritishBakingShow'')are each others' biggest fans, and this becomes very obvious in ''Series/TheGreatBritishBakingShow:Masterclass''. Mary is a motherly type, and in the kitchen, Paul starts acting like her teenage son complete with hijinks. It's as completely adorable as it sounds.
* In Creator/JohnWaters' first [[{{Biography}} autobiography]] ''Shock Value: A Tasteful Book About Bad Taste'', he told a story about bringing his [[ProductionPosse Dreamlanders crew]] up to New York City to visit Creator/AndyWarhol's Factory, and that Warhol was amazed by Edith Massey.
* Because they have been performing for over a century (as of this writing), the Creator/TakarazukaRevue is comprised of a large portion of (if not nearly entirely of) {{Ascended Fangirl}}s. Put a current actress into the same room/area as an OG (retired actress), or just a more senior one, that they admire, and squeeing ''will'' commence. No matter if said current actress is a top star (and therefore required to be cool and collected), there will be squeeing. At least two known incidents: Ichiro Maki (Snow top, 1993 -- 1996) bounced delightedly ''in costume'' upon meeting Asami Rei (Snow top, 1980 -- 1985). Nozomi Futo (Snow top, 2017 -- 2020) was reduced to tears after hearing Yamato Yuuga (Cosmos top, 2007 -- 2009) recite some romantic lines to her.
* In an interview, Creator/AmandaGorman revealed that she fangirled like mad when she was chosen to read her poem during President Joe Biden's inauguration, squeeing and dancing around "like a crazy person" before going to work straight away. She had the same reaction when Cartoon Network uploaded a [[Franchise/ThePowerpuffGirls Powerpuff Girl]]-style picture of her on Twitter as part of an event that celebrated black women (while also remarking that she liked the idea of "Poetrypuff Girls").
** She also squeed [[https://www.primetimer.com/watch/inauguration-star-amanda-gorman-goes-full-fangirl-over-james-corden-and-declares-her-intent-to-be-the-president when meeting James Corden]] and [[https://www.usanetwork.com/access/video/amanda-gorman-fan-girls-over-katy-perry/486853992 Katy Perry]].
* Creator/OsamuTezuka ("God of Manga") is a huge fan of Creator/WaltDisney (and Creator/{{Disney}} [[Franchise/DisneyAnimatedCanon in general]]) and decided to take a trip to America in 1964 to promote the ''Manga/AstroBoy'' series. When Tezuka managed to attend the 1964 New York World's Fair on opening day, he wanted to meet Walt in person. As he was waiting for Walt to finish his speech, he got extremely nervous and excited. During Walt and Tezuka's brief encounter, they discussed plans on working on a project together. According to Tezuka, Walt actually watched the Astro Boy series (which begun airing on American television at the time) and congratulated him and the staff at Creator/MushiProductions. [[https://i.imgur.com/M43m0Yo.jpg Tezuka later recounted this event in a 1981 sketch published on Sawayaka magazine.]] He even managed to attend the opening day of [[Ride/DisneyThemeParks Tokyo Disneyland]] on April 15, 1983, which was Disney's first overseas theme park.
** Tezuka was also a huge fan of Creator/CarlBarks' [[WesternAnimation/DonaldDuck Donald]] [[ComicBook/DisneyDucksComicUniverse and Scrooge Mcduck comics.]] He would annually send letters to Barks every Christmas with special illustrations of his characters. [[https://preview.redd.it/q5r8qichg9v41.jpg?width=350&auto=webp&s=27fc559c73b9ff1ac2ba601ebe193731a31ac5e8 The most notable is this Christmas Card showing Astro Boy hugging Donald Duck]]. Similar to his encounter with Walt Disney, he was able to meet Barks sometime in 1980 where they exchanged artwork of their characters. Tezuka did similar offerings to the staff at Creator/WarnerBros and Creator/HannaBarbera where he occasionally sent letters and drawings of their characters in his own art style.
* Creator/StevenSpielberg: Legendary director. One of the biggest names in Hollywood. Has actors like Creator/MattDamon [[AwesomeDearBoy chomping at the bit]] to work with him. Still couldn't bring himself to call Creator/AnthonyHopkins anything but "Sir Anthony" for the entire shoot of ''Film/{{Amistad}}''.
