But how can writers convey that to the audience? Sure, generally the rule is "show, don't tell", but what if a given character's psychic powers are to pinch shut the carotid artery? Or their SupernaturalMartialArts can crack a planet in two? Having them remind viewers ''"LuckilyMyPowersWillProtectMe"'' gets old fast. And you can't very well have them [[GoodThingYouCanHeal show the power off every time they appear]] so new viewers can get clued in, just imagine what that'd do to the SpecialEffects budget!

[[spoiler:[[DifferentlyPoweredIndividual Old World Connectors]] like Akira and Katsuya are like a reverse version of TheEmpath, transmitting their feelings into others unconsciously. Katsuya appears strong, because he's prideful, and Akira appears weak, because he believes he's weak. The truth is that Katsuya is a PaperTiger, and after Akira feels more confident from having killed Katsuya while severely handicapped, people stop seeing him as weak.]]
58	* ''Manga/{{Saki}}'' is a manga about TabletopGame/{{Mahjong}}, and therefore, strong enough mahjong players can feel the auras of other strong mahjong players.
