->''"You know what they say: revenge is a dish best served NUDE."''
-->-- '''Sheldon Cooper''', ''Series/TheBigBangTheory''

Nudity is one of the last great taboos, particularly in UsefulNotes/TheUnitedStates. Whereas it's OK to show violence, blood, and to a certain extent hate speech on TV, a tiny bit of nudity will cause an outright scandal. Just ask Music/JanetJackson and her [[WardrobeMalfunction "nip slip"]], which got more attention than [[UsefulNotes/SuperBowl the show she was putting on at the time]], despite its sexually suggestive content that some say bordered on sexual assault by [[Music/JustinTimberlake her co-star]].

The proper term for the above phenomenon is ''gymnophobia'' (fear of nudity). It often reaches the point where people are afraid of so much as ''seeing'' nudity, even accidentally. One main reason so many people are afraid is the fear that [[ForbiddenFruit they might like it]].

So while nudity itself is right out, the insinuation of nudity, as well as the (usually gymnophobic) reaction to it, is just titillating enough to make it onto the air, especially on comedies.

[[TitleDrop Naked people are funny]], after all, especially paired with [[StraightMan a prudish costar]] to react to them, or in a situation where they're not expected or wanted.

A character who ends up naked (or at least in only their underwear) in a situation they don't expect, such as losing their ModestyTowel (and they ''will'' [[StrippingSnag lose]] their Modesty Towel) in public, may have a NakedFreakOut and need to employ a HandOrObjectUnderwear. And if not, their naughty bits may still be hidden — from the camera, that is — by other forms of CensorshipTropes such as SceneryCensor (bonus points if it is a GagCensor). Almost always, they'll end up [[NakedFirstImpression meeting another character]]; meanwhile, the audience will have to make do with, at best, a ToplessnessFromTheBack or ShouldersUpNudity shot.

The InvisibleMainCharacter probably can't wear clothes, if only because the insinuation that he or she is running around naked [[InvisibleStreaker makes it funnier]] — plus when the character does inevitably materialize, it'll invariably be in front of as many people as possible.

The InnocentFanserviceGirl won't understand why everyone's freaking out, while the ShamelessFanserviceGirl won't care. MsFanservice and TheVamp will understand, but... that's the idea.

It's tempting to suppose that nudity is funny precisely because it's so unusual in the "civilized" world, and weird things are naturally funny. However, this logic goes out the window when you learn that nudity has been a prominent ingredient in humor for [[OlderThanTheyThink at least 3,000 years]]. Even the ancient Egyptians found naked people funny, and they weren't themselves shy about wearing little more than [[LoinCloth loincloths]]. So maybe the humor lies primarily with [[BoobBasedGag boobs]] and [[GagPenis penises]], which have been shameful to expose since Neolithic times.

Special mention goes to nudism. Nudism is a philosophy that basically boils down to "There's nothing wrong with being naked in certain situations, including some group situations". TheThemeParkVersion of this is "Hey, look, naked people", and is a great way to throw some {{Fanservice}} (or, even funnier but much grosser, FanDisservice) into your show. Nudists tend to be shoehorned into a few specific roles, depending on their role in the plot:

* If a character is introduced as a nudist, that character will be either extremely young and attractive or extremely old and ugly, depending on whether the character is being played up for {{Fanservice}} or comedy, with few exceptions. Middle-age and underage nudists do not exist (although the latter [[PaedoHunt have some very obvious reasons]] for their omission). Has a touch of realism in it — real nudist organizations often have a pattern of children dropping out as they enter adolescence, then returning in middle age after they become comfortable with their bodies again.
* As a general rule, any nudists will be [[NewAgeRetroHippie new age hippies]], or if they're old, actual original hippies. Talk about mantras, releasing the inner calm, etc., is common.
* Depending on age, nudist characters are either airheads or old Zen masters — the younger you are, the stupider you get.
* Said nudists will either be extremely puritanical and often militant about their nudity (so-called "Right to Nude" activists demanding the right to go naked on a local beach, for example) or extremely perverse (in which case they are really "swingers"). Almost universally, they will refuse to acknowledge ([[NoSocialSkills or genuinely not recognize]]) that they are making other people uncomfortable with their nudity, nor will they ever get uncomfortable themselves. ([[TruthInTelevision This one has a surprising amount of truth to it]].)
* Revelation of said nudism will cause, on average, one character to react angrily and one other to reveal that they have always been interested in nudism, were really raised as a nudist or experienced something similar in their past. For example, sunbathing on the beaches during a European trip. These will almost invariably be an upset man and an open-minded woman, or an extremely interested man and an extremely offended woman. If there's any [[WillTheyOrWontThey sexual tension]] between the two, it'll almost definitely be that couple.
** If there is a third person, it will likely be the perverted friend who completely misses the point and spends the entire episode trying to sneak peeks or take photos. If there is an older cast member, he or she will probably already be naked when everyone else arrives.
* If a male or female character decides to go to a nudist beach or resort to look at women or men, said women or men will either not exist or be extremely old.
** If a character disrobes at a beach and neither a sign clearly saying "Nude Beach" nor other nude people are visible, it will turn out that it is not, in fact, a nude beach. The character either went to the wrong beach, was misinformed (maybe it ''used'' to be a nude beach), or just assumed it was a nude beach (most likely because they're tourists who think all the beaches in whatever country they're in are clothing-optional, or because they're from a country where (in the writers' imaginations) all the beaches ''are'' clothing optional). Although, again, some TruthInTelevision to this, as the United States is almost unique[[note]]The only other similar country is China.[[/note]] without even a single legally protected clothing optional beach. Every Nude Beach in the U.S. is instead politely ignored by the local authorities, and not actually legally protected.

Especially common during UsefulNotes/{{Sweeps}}. See also [[UsefulNotes/{{Nudism}} Useful Notes: Nudism]].

For specific examples of nudity as humor, see:
* BirthdaySuitSurpriseParty — Events conspire to leave a character nude for a surprise party.
* EmbarrassingHospitalGown - Events conspire for a character wearing a hospital gown to expose themselves.
* NakedPeopleTrappedOutside — Events conspire to trap a character naked outdoors.
* OpenTheDoorAndSeeAllThePeople — Events conspire for a naked character to be surprised by a mob upon opening a door.
* GoneSwimmingClothesStolen — ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin.
* InvisibleStreaker — Logically, if ''you'' are invisible, that doesn't mean ''your clothes'' are.
* TheNudifier — A character ends up naked because they were exposed to something that disintegrated their clothes.

Compare ComedicUnderwearExposure. Contrast FullFrontalAssault. For "Hollywood Nudism", see InnocentFanserviceGirl (''Clueless'' about the Nudity Taboo) and / or ShamelessFanserviceGirl (Doesn't ''Care'' about the Nudity Taboo). Has [[JustForFun/IThoughtItMeant nothing to do with]] a nudity-oriented ''People Are Funny''.

[[folder:Advertising]]
* Advertising/MAndMs:
** An Australian advert features Red and Yellow in a game of strip poker. When Yellow loses, he mentions quietly that he doesn't want to show his "peanut" in public.
** In one advert, a stagehand accidentally walks in on a naked Ms. Green in her trailer.
** The "Bare All" promotion and the sequences that follow, complete with scenes where Yellow covers his midsection. Then there's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ir1gG3npkWc this advert]].
** A scenario promoting M&M's Ice Cream Treats shows Red and Yellow trapped in a frozen wasteland that is revealed to be the inside of a grocery store freezer. Yellow then notices his 'M' is much smaller than usual.
--> Yellow: Hey, what happened to my 'M'?
--> Red: It's called "shrinkage".
** Ms. Brown's debut advert showed her annoyance with people assuming she's naked because her shell is brown. Cue Red walking in, declaring "So it's that kind of party!" and stripping off his shell while dancing to "Sexy and I Know It".
* ''Advertising/TheSimpsons'':
** Homer walks out of the house without his pants in a CC-Lemon commercial.
** "CC's Dare 2": Homer runs through the power plant completely nude. He then trips on a power cord, causing a city-wide blackout.
** Homer loses his swim shorts in "CC's Dare 23".
** Homer gets down to his underwear in the Ultimate Double Whopper ad, as he sweats when he eats.
** The commercials for Vizir detergent regularly features the family, though usually Bart and Homer, nude.
* Put to use as a prank in an [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dQ4hQOzHys ad for Time Foto]]: "We blow up your favorite holiday picture."
* An advert for British opticians Specsavers shows a confused man in the hotel spa with fogged-up glasses trying to navigate through the steam. He passes through a door into a steamy hot fog. Believing he has found the sauna he drops his towel and hops onto a bench. The steam clears. We see he is in the hotel kitchen. Several dismayed chefs look back at him. Worse still, the head chef is Creator/GordonRamsay, who comes in close and scowls menacingly.
* When the Honda Pilot SUV crossover was introduced, Honda ran an ad depicting its driver coming across a hot air balloon that's landed in the middle of the road. The man offers to take the entire crew with him to wherever they're going. "There's one thing. We're nudists." As he's backing up, he checks the mirror, flinches, and looks out the dash-mounted rear window camera instead.
* One of the reasons for one of Advertising/AirNewZealandSafetyVideos, "Bare Essentials", which has crew members with their uniforms [[BodyPaint painted on]]. The other reason is...[[{{Fanservice}} obvious]].
* ''Advertising/ISawYourWilly'' features an in-universe example: a photo of a boy's nether parts goes viral because everyone finds willies hilarious.
* This [[https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-asia-53103684/the-new-zealand-porn-ad-designed-to-protect-children New Zealand-made PSA]] about awareness of online pornography features a pair of nude porn stars who turn up to the home of the kid who's been browsing them.
* [[https://vimeo.com/310450880 This]] Axe "Fresh Forest + Graffiti" commercial shows a guy who doesn't believe such a combination of fragrances can smell good. He says: "If it actually smells good I will go to a party naked", he's barely done talking when all of his clothes get suddenly ripped off and his room transforms into a club full of people partying, a girl approaches him to smell him and approves the smell of the deodorant. They’re both later seen happily dancing together while he’s still completely naked.

[[folder:Anime and Manga]]
* Every adaptation of ''Manga/AbsoluteBoyfriend''. Night has no nudity taboo and thinks that stripping will cheer Riiko up. It never does. He keeps trying it anyway.
* Fanzell of ''Manga/BlackClover'' frequently ends up being seen naked by various people, [[NakedFirstImpression having met both Asta and Noelle while naked]] (after losing his clothes and emerging from the bath respectively). This tends to prompt shocked and/or annoyed reactions from everyone involved, and his student Mariella eventually accuses him of doing it on purpose, even claiming that it's his favorite thing (both of which he adamantly denies).
* ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'':
** Yoruichi is completely nude [[ShapeshiftingExcludesClothing when she changes into a human]], which she is not bothered by -- and which she uses to irritate Ichigo.
** The original anime pilot also features Rukia -- [[{{Sizeshifter}} shrunk down when she's depowered]] -- taking a bath in a [[{{Squick}} mug of milk]]. Her nudity in this scene is meant to be funny rather than sexy.
* Late in a ''Manga/CityHunter'' story arc, Ryo dances naked when he detects his client's potential assailants spying on the apartment, in order to make them leave. It works as planned, though the ensuing complaints made by neighbors who see him at it without understanding why he does so embarrass Kaori so much that Ryo is DeniedFoodAsPunishment.[[note]]Kaori becomes more forgiving, if still understandably annoyed, towards Ryo after he informs her of his reason for doing so.[[/note]]
* Need we mention the elephant dance of ''Manga/CrayonShinChan'' fame? And sometimes he's still wearing pants doing this...
* Most of the {{Fanservice}} in ''Literature/ACertainMagicalIndex'' is this. Index's [[ClothingDamage clothes exploding]], Kuroko's [[BarelyThereSwimwear string bikini]] ("yeah, it's not what I'd usually wear, but it's the smallest they had"), and the [[ShamelessFanserviceGirl "Stripping Woman"]] are all PlayedForLaughs.
* In ''Literature/DemonKingDaimao'' Keena Soga has the ability to disappear not only visually, but from any magical tracking means. However, any clothes she has remains visible so she is always stripping naked (with the hair ornament she never takes off as the floating around as the only clue that she's even in the room). In episode two, she is running away from a dog when she runs straight into Akuto Sai and ends up becoming visible again completely naked and riding on top of him. There is also Junko Hattori who got her clothes blown off from fighting Akuto in a class full of their classmates.
* The ''Franchise/{{Digimon}}'' franchise:
** ''Anime/DigimonAdventure'': Multiple episodes:
*** "Crest of Sincerity" features Sora and Mimi getting chased out of the bathroom while taking a shower. As a result, the poor girls are seen in nothing but [[ModestyBedsheet towels]], understandably freaking out.
*** An earlier episode had the kids in a bathhouse. Jou tries to get into the bath with a towel while the other boys are nude, so Yamato and Taichi try to strip him.
** The ''Anime/DigimonFusion'' episode "Danger Erupts" has the heroes ambushed by an army of [=BlueMeramon=] and [=RedMaramon=] while they're relaxing in a hot spring. The scene memorably had Angie running while holding her clothes over her body and screaming "SOMEBODY COOL THIS HOTHEAD DOWN!"
* ''Manga/{{Doraemon}}'':
** Shizuka, the main character's love interest. A RunningGag that's been going on for 25 years now is that any time she takes a bath -- anywhere, anywhen -- Nobita will walk in on her, run past her being chased by a dinosaur, teleport her into the middle of school, accidentally brainwash her to become a militant nudist, etc., etc.
** Nobita, Gian and Suneolose their clothes while in public more than once in multiple points of the manga, each and every instance which are played for laughs.
** ''Anime/DoraemonNobitasChronicleOfTheMoonExploration'' have Nobita trying to teleport into Diabolo's castle using the Esper Hat, only for him to screw up as usual, porting his way in... sans clothes. In front of two confused guards. This is yet another naked gag recycled from the manga itself.
* In ''Manga/DragonBall'', Goku often strips out of his undergarments, which is often played for laughs, such as when he transforms into Giant Ape form near the end of the first TournamentArc and is more than willing to [[FullFrontalAssault continue the fight even without clothes]] after being transformed back. ''Anime/DragonBallZ'' uses these gags far less, but it still pops up on occasion. For example, a {{filler}} episode very late in the series features a naked Goku fighting a naked Gotenks after both of them have gotten out of the bath.
* In ''Literature/{{Durarara}}'', [[SuperStrength Shizuo]] once ''punches a thug out of his clothes'' (save for his undies, that is).
* ''Anime/EdenOfTheEast'': We first see Akira Takizawa [[NakedFirstImpression naked]] in front of the White House.
* Otawara of ''Manga/Eyeshield21'' has a hard time keeping his pants on, and his underwear either goes with them or [[GoingCommando was never there in the first place]]. Prepare to see a lot of his bare butt in this series.
* In ''Manga/FairyTail'', we have Gray Fullbuster, Reitei Lyon, and their teacher Ur. While technically they don't get completely naked in frame, it's heavily implied that the three spent the majority of their training that way.
** When Gray first meets Lucy, he's already in his boxers, which are stolen by [[TheRival Natsu]] during a guild brawl... and he asks Lucy for her underwear, to which she responds by promptly smacking him with a PaperFanOfDoom.
** Accidentally stripping seems to be limited to Gray though; Ur was horrified when it became a habit for him and he started doing it in public.
** It looked like Lyon picked it up in the Nirvana arc.
** Lucy herself falls victim to this from time to time. [[ReluctantFanserviceGirl Much to her dismay.]]
* In Episode 8 of ''Anime/GaroTheAnimation'', Germán loses his money and clothes to bandits and spends most of the episode running naked from guards.
* Male characters in ''Manga/{{Gintama}}'' have fallen victim to this on more than a few occasions, with Kondo being the most frequent example (though it's often voluntary in his case).
** Kondo's tendency towards nudity gets lampshaded in the popularity poll arc, when Kagura tries to pull down his pants and underwear in hopes of lowering his popularity with the viewers, only to realize that he wasn't even wearing anything, to begin with, after which he gloats about being immune to such tactics due to everyone having seen him naked numerous times already.
** Virtually every time the Shogun shows up, he ends up naked sooner or later, whether by accident or his own volition. [[NervesOfSteel He takes it all in stride, though.]]
* Hamaya from the manga ''Manga/GirlGotGame'' has on three occasions suddenly appeared in front of his friend, stripped down to his birthday suit. Two times were because one thing or another tore all his clothes off; the second time he had just eaten hallucinogenic mushrooms when he took his clothes off.
* Creator/GoNagai surely is the earliest example in manga. He started the trend with ''Manga/HarenchiGakuen'' and he used the trope in most of his works: ''Anime/MazingerZ'' (in one episode several characters strip themselves for no apparent reason), ''Anime/CuteyHoney'', ''Franchise/{{Devilman}}'' (sometimes), ''Manga/DororonEnmaKun'', ''Manga/KekkoKamen'', etc.
* At one point in ''Literature/{{Haganai}}'', Yozora tricks Maria into taking her clothes off and running naked around the school swimming pool.
** There are also two instances of Sena in this light; first at her house while chasing Kobato fresh out of the bath, second at the beach when she gets up with her bikini top off.
** Played frequently with Kobato, who tends to emerge from bathing just buck naked.
* In ''Manga/HayateTheCombatButler'', before the seriousness of the Athens arc takes over it's averted. The group goes to a nudist beach. The girls understandably wear bikinis (and [[ThoseTwoGuys those three girls]] try to seduce Hayate, while there); A game of beach volleyball is played, with the participating female being told she needs to be wearing a bikini by the rules; and not one character is ever implied to attempt to be nude and there are no background characters ever. You would almost think it was a mistranslation of some sort, except that it's referenced several times ''as'' a Nude Beach.
* In ''Manga/HellTeacherNube'', MsFanservice Izuna develops pyrokinetic powers... which [[ClothingDamage burn her clothes off]]. [[RunningGag Hilarity ensues several times]].
* One of the many charms of ''Angel Blade'', is how dramatic and serious characters can be, even with all their naughty bits on display. It's even funnier whenever the main character actually becomes aware of it.
* France in ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers'', and he isn't content with being the only naked one.
** Greece is the only one besides France who will just casually walk around butt-naked.
** Sometimes, when England gets drunk, he [[InVinoVeritas forgets about his manners]] and lets his CovertPervert run free.
** And in the Noto-sama games, [[LovableSexManiac Noto and Yamato]] do their best to strip whomever they come across...
* ''Manga/HidamariSketch''. Expect [[DitzyGenius Miyako]] to do something goofy while in the buff whenever the residents of Hidamari Apartments go to a bathhouse.
* Toori of ''Literature/HorizonInTheMiddleOfNowhere'' spends an inordinate amount of screen-time naked except for his portable, always-present magic censor. This is because his matron god is Ame no Uzume, Japanese god of merry-making, whose part in getting Amaterasu to leave her cave... was stripping naked and telling jokes.
* There is Keita from ''Literature/{{Inukami}}'' who always ends up naked in public whenever he pisses off his familiar, Youko. Youko teleports him out of his clothes and into the most populated place nearby that the cops are already familiar with him and the local perverts who are always in jail think of him as one of their own.
* ''Literature/IsThisAZombie'' (the anime version) first demonstrates Ayumu's zombie [[MadeOfIron durability]] by getting hit by a truck, which for some reason causes all his clothes to fly off (terrifying the nearby schoolgirls).
** After losing most of her powers, Haruna's [[MagicalGirl Masou Shoujo]] clothes have a tendency to suddenly disappear.
* Aikuro Mikisugi from ''Anime/KillLaKill'', infamous for his habit of [[YouCanLeaveYourHatOn stripping]] whilst giving exposition. In fact, there's a whole [[LaResistance underground organization called "Nudist Beach"]] whose members wear nothing but their equipment harness.
* People lose their clothes quite a bit in ''Manga/{{Kochikame}}'', especially main character Ryotsu.
* ''Manga/KuroganeCommunication'' has Spike walk in on Haruka changing or showering several times. This always leads to Spike blushing and panicking, [[RidiculouslyHumanRobots despite the fact that he's a robot]].
* ''Anime/LupinIIIPartII'':
** One episode had a scene parodying the nudist colony moment in ''A Shot in the Dark'' (see film examples below). The Clouseau and Cato characters wore only fig leaves.
** And a later episode had the Lupin gang forced to make an emergency helicopter landing at a nudist colony. Goemon protested, needless to say.
** Whenever Goemon defends someone against an attacker, his choice of attack is to cut off their clothing. It's only on rare occasions that he actually does this to women.
* A running gag in ''Manga/MissMachiko'' is that Machiko ends up naked in every episode. No exceptions and the universe often takes extreme measures to strip her, such as having a box fall in just a way to catch the corner of her dress. Of course, one of her students also loves to intentionally strip her, expose her panties for her by flipping up her dress, and occasionally outright grope her (as a way of saying hello). All of these are played as a RunningGag. A word in the original Japanese title, Maicchingu, refers to the pose she makes after losing her clothing, and it's played up for as much {{Fanservice}} as possible (for an early 1980s TV series). It's such a part of the series that they included it in the opening title sequence. The big catch? It's a kids show, she's an elementary school teacher, and so her students are all around 8 years old. Oh, and it played on Japanese TV, rather completely subverts BarbieDollAnatomy, and was aimed squarely at kids the age of Machiko's class.
* ''Anime/MonColleKnights:'' In his debut chapter of the manga, Leprachaun uses his switcheroo power to force everyone to trade outfits with someone else, until Guuko makes friends with him. Rokuna ends up trading with Jahne, her hamster monster pet, and finds herself completely naked except for Jahne's ribbon around her neck.
* ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'':
** Hagakure Tooru has the power of invisibility, so she spends most of her time naked since nobody can see her anyway. At one point, she says she is going all out, by which she means that she will take out her gloves and shoes, the only things composing her hero suit.
** Mirio Togata is among UA's top students. His skills, however, are an {{Intangibility}} quirk that causes, among other side effects, his clothes to fall out of his body, so he fights naked against the entire class 1-A, which also causes some surprised reactions.
* ''Manga/MyLovelyGhostKana'': Averted 99% of the time as the sex scenes are all sweet and emotional, but there's one scene in the last chapter where the trope applies: Kana and Daikichi are lying out by the window, drowsing after having sex, when Kana notices Utako walking away from the apartments. Kana really wants to wave to her, but since Utako can't see her, [[PeoplePuppets she gets a still drowsy Daikichi to stand on his feet and wave in her place]] -- stark naked from the balcony rail.
* ''Anime/TheMysteriousCitiesOfGold'': The group of native girls who came upon Tao and Esteban SkinnyDipping certainly seemed to think so, especially when Esteban is in the process of getting out and waving hello to them when he remembers where he is.
* ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'''s Sexy No Jutsu is another example, though the main bits are covered in [[CensorSteam clouds of smoke]]. Severe {{Nosebleed}}s abound when Naruto uses this technique, except for [[LovableSexManiac Jiraiya]], of course.
* The (in)famous "toothpick scene"[[note]]Shinji is in the bathroom, naked, gets startled when seeing Pen-Pen there, and runs off to Misato and ask what is going on, meanwhile his "things" are [[SceneryCensor conveniently blocked]] by a can of beer on the table, Misato picks it up, only for Shinji to continue being censored by a substantially smaller toothpick-holder (it was behind the beer can) instead.[[/note]] in ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion''. Repeated with Asuka and a drinking straw in ''[[Anime/RebuildOfEvangelion Rebuild 2.0]]''.
* ''Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi'' had a RunningGag during the TournamentArc involving Takane D. Goodman, who ends up getting [[ClothingDamage stripped naked]] pretty much every time she appears. It gets to the point that in one of her later appearances, the joke is that she isn't naked. Even the other characters (who, being denizens of the Negiverse are quite used to ClothingDamage happening to just about everyone on a regular basis) start referring to her as a stripper.
** Really, a good chunk of the nudity in the series is this. There may be a lot of FanService, but it's played for comedy quite often.
** Comes to a head when the heroes accidentally find out how Evangeline spends her free time: playing video games in the nude.
* The lesser known clean {{manga}}, ''Nippon no Razoku'' (Literal translation: Japanese Naked Tribe; figurative translation: Japanese Nudists) involves a group of nudists who attempt to take over Japan, or... something. One of the main characters, a young tomboy, is relatively normal, except for her relative [[InnocentFanserviceGirl lack of a nudity taboo]], as well as the fact that once she disrobes, she gains superpowers. This manga takes the trope at face value and subverts it at the same time: The leader of the nudists acts like a pro wrestler instead of being ancient -- but is still an idiot, the fat guy joins up with the nudists in the hope of forcing the women in town to strip, and one of the female characters (not the young one) is perfectly aware that she's giving everyone a free peep show, but can't bring herself to disobey her father and get dressed.
* In ''Manga/OnePiece'', Franky spends nearly an entire episode without any pants, after his were stolen to bait him.
* Saitama of ''Webcomic/OnePunchMan'' has a [[CurbStompBattle very brief]] encounter with Mosquito Girl after losing his clothes to accidental incineration. Watching him annihilate a mosquito monster with a single slap to the face is already pretty funny, but doing so while completely oblivious to the fact he's committing a FullFrontalAssault? Even more entertaining. Doubly so when the people responsible for the monster get to view footage of the event, which forces them to ask an obvious question.
-->''"...why is he naked?"\
"We have no idea."''
* ''Anime/PanpakaPants'':
** The original one-minute shorts occasionally showed the four piglets nude or losing their underwear for the sake of a gag.
** Panpaka sometimes winds up in predicaments where he loses his underwear and has to go naked.
* Ai's very first scene in ''Popotan'' starts her off in a towel, which she drops when something startles her and she falls forward, landing her huge bare breasts into a young boy's face whom she had only just discovered had entered her house.
* ''Manga/PuellaMagiKazumiMagica'':
** The series begins with the eponymous character trapped completely naked inside a suitcase, and while the reasons for her state of undress are actually pretty serious as revealed later, hilarity ensues when she is freed as she (unsuccessfully) assaults her assumed captor right ''before'' noticing herself naked (followed by a growl in her stomach before the next scene begins with them eating together).
** While MagicalGirl transformations normally aren't this trope, chapter 2 ends with Umika wondering how she can bypass the part where she's completely nude, complete with a visual of her barely managing to cover her essentials and an author's note denying any possible way to skip it. (Unlike in Madoka Magica, transformations take place out in the open here.)
* ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf'' has several episodes using this with Ranma changing from male to female and back again in places like the public baths.
* At first, Julius from ''Manga/RaveMaster'' was just a pretty boy. Once he became a [[GoodIsDumb good guy]], he took his narcissism to the next level by insisting that not only should everyone be able to see his beautiful face, but also his beautiful... '''everything'''. His explanation for why he'd strip usually didn't include the actual reason for why he stripped.
* This is a RunningGag in ''Manga/{{Splatoon}}'', with Goggles losing his clothes, forgetting to get dressed, or pantsing others as a prank.
* In the ''Super Mario Land'' arc of ''Manga/SuperMario'', Mario spends several panels without any bottoms on. Unbeknownst to him, the robot that tags along with him is Peach and she's flustered underneath.
* Episode 6 of ''Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann'', wherein the entire cast is near-naked for most of the episode.
* The entire plot of ''Manga/ThoseWhoHuntElves'' is made for the purpose of taking advantage of this trope. The main characters need to strip elves naked in order to find markings on their bodies that are fragments of a spell that they need to return to their world.
* ''Ultimate Girls'' plays this trope regularly with its three core characters. Silk, Vivienne, and Tsubomi are magical girls who don full-body spandex upon transforming, which disintegrates over the course of three minutes while they battle, and they don't get their original clothes back when they revert to their human forms. (The embarrassment they experience is also the main source of their power in battle.)
* ''Anime/VividStrike'' has Fuuka's first attempt at a [[OlderAlterEgo Power Mode]] with assistance from Corona and Yumina. While they were able to successfully age up Fuuka's body, they weren't able to do so with her training clothes, which proceeded to dissolve into their component magic particles under the strain. Cue poor Fuuka running off in embarrassment [[SceneryCensor with only a trail of residual magic particles covering her no-no parts]].
* In Chapter 52 of ''Manga/TheWallflower'' (which was translated to ''[[MarketBasedTitle Perfect Girl Evolution]]'' in the United States), Sunako is possessed by a cursed diamond pendant. The diamond is essentially an exhibitionist -- it wants to force her to dress up and attract attention (but mostly of the good "Wow, she's beautiful" kind). While under the influence of the diamond, she sleepwalks naked to one of her male roommate's beds and wakes up on top of him. In Chapter 53, she has a mild breakdown because of it and forces herself to believe that she was dressed in... ''something'' during the event. This starts to affect her in other ways -- namely, after taking a shower she blanks out and thinks she's put clothes on when she really hasn't. Her four male roommates rather quickly start begging her to PleasePutSomeClothesOn, while the guy into whose bed she sleepwalked has to chase her to school and back making sure she doesn't accidentally strip naked. This starts off with her [[NakedApron putting on only an apron]] to cook breakfast that morning, to attempting to go to school naked (Kyohei forces her to put on her school uniform's optional dress part (designed to be worn with a uniform under it), to casually stripping said flimsy dress off in front of some pornographers who scouted her when she was in a daze. It's only after the pornographers bring in the male model to have sex with her that she snaps out of her delusion.
* ''Anime/WaveLetsGoSurfing'' has a recurring SceneryCensor gag in an onsen. Ditzy lead character Masaki will invariably get excited about something, and jump up from his seated position in the hot spring - only to remember he is naked.
* ''Anime/YuGiOhGX'': On Duel Monsters Spirit Day, Syrus suggested that Alexis dress up as Dark Magician Girl, but she had a different idea. Then, it cuts to a close-up of boobs, then a butt ...only to reveal that [[FanDisservice Dorothy is wearing the Dark Magician Girl costume!]]
-->'''Chumley:''' C'mon! You don't think Dorothy pulls that off?\
'''Syrus:''' Pull it off? Don't put that image into my brain, please Chum!

* ''ComicBook/TheAvengers'': ''Avengers Assemble'' #9-11 involves a bet between Tony Stark and Bruce Banner as to who can be the first to successfully rescue a missing scientist. The loser has to walk naked from Avengers Tower to the Baxter Building and back (in downtown Manhattan). [[spoiler:In the end, they BOTH lose and end up taking the walk of shame together, Banner in his Hulk form, no less. Even better, Tony's effort to jam all electronics to prevent anyone taking pictures is defeated when Spider-Man shows up to take a picture with an old-fashioned flash camera that ends up on the front page of the Daily Bugle under the headline "Naked Justice".]]
* ''ComicBook/{{Catwoman}}'': In ''ComicBook/CatwomanWhenInRome'', DC anti-heroine Selina Kyle is forced to jump out the window completely naked when her hotel room is bombed and survives by landing in the pool in broad daylight, with the Riddler and Italian hitman known as the Blonde landing in the pool with her. The naked and very wet Selina manages to stay in control despite her sexual humiliation being played for laughs.
* ''ComicBook/TheDesertPeach'': The third issue (about [[UsefulNotes/ErwinRommel Erwin "the Desert Fox" Rommel's]] homosexual younger brother) was about going surfing . . . in the NUDE!
* ''ComicBook/DoomPatrol'':
** Fever in John Arcudi's run would sometimes accidentally burn her clothes off because of her difficulty in controlling her powers and in the final issue is not happy to see that the robot body [[spoiler:Robotman dreams]] Doc Magnus put her brain in lacks clothes, prompting her to desperately try and cover herself with her arms.
** John Byrne's run had an arc that involved people and animals being de-evolved into prehistoric creatures, with Rita Farr tearing off her uniform shortly after becoming a gigantic ape monster. Once she's restored to human form in the eighth issue, she panics at her sudden lack of uniform and shrinks down to avoid being seen before making a temporary outfit from a discarded tissue until she's able to put on a spare uniform.
** The cover to the 20th issue of Keith Giffen's run, [[CoversAlwaysLie which has jack all to do with the issue's actual story]], depicts Negative Man, Robotman and Elasti-Girl stranded near a rock in the sea while butt naked.
-->'''Negative Man:''' So...''that'' went well.\
'''Robotman:''' [[CatchphraseInsult Stuff it, Trainor]].
** The fourth issue of ''[[ComicBook/DoomPatrol2016 Doom Patrol: Weight of the Worlds]]'' has the villain Skarg left naked when the Secret Spandex is separated from his body, with [[SpeechBubbleCensoring his crotch obscured by his own speech bubble]] and his humiliation at everyone seeing his privates played for comedy.
* ''ComicBook/FantasticFour'':
** Susan Storm-Richards, AKA: The Invisible Woman, has sometimes been a victim of unwanted public nudity, usually just narrowly avoiding complete and utter humiliation by turning invisible.
** [[Characters/TheThing Ben Grimm]] suffers this in the first issue of ''ComicBook/TheThing: Freakshow''. His clothes are stolen by a pair of kids while washing himself on a lake, [[HandOrObjectUnderwear he covers his naughty bits with a piece of wood and a "swim at your own risk" billboard]].
* ''ComicBook/{{Firestorm|DCComics}}'': For an example of a hero taking a ShamefulStrip to extremes to save innocent people from a crazy terrorist, Firestorm did this to the villainess Plastique in which he used his power to deatomize her clothes so he could get the bombs that were attached to her and dispose of them safely somewhere else -- leaving the beautiful red-haired villainess completely naked and sexually humiliated in public, causing men and women alike to laugh at her. While undeniably cruel, it should also be pointed out that otherwise, she would have blown up a lot of innocent people. See ShamefulStrip and NakedPeopleTrappedOutside.
* ''ComicBook/{{Freedom Fighters|DCComics}}'': In the 2006 miniseries, Phantom Lady robs Lady Liberty of her powers by destroying her costume. The Ray then dumps Lady Liberty on a nearby nudist beach, supposedly to lessen her awkwardness and embarrassment. It appears to have the opposite effect, judging by how quick Lady Liberty is to [[HandOrObjectUnderwear use her arms to hide her chest and groin from the nudists.]]
* ''ComicBook/{{Futurama}}'':
** Issue 11 has the story involve everyone getting infected by Fry's cold and exhibiting strange behavior, with Leela spontaneously deciding to strip and wander around naked.
** Issue 34 has Fry create a clone of his ex-girlfriend Michelle, who isn't happy about being cloned naked and is eventually clothed when Amy gives her one of her old sweatsuits (Fry also tries to assure Michelle by claiming that Professor Farnsworth is blind, a claim that Farnsworth goes along with [[DirtyOldMan for obvious reasons]]). Later, a whole bunch of Michelle clones are created and are able to be clothed because of Amy's dry-cleaning nearby, but they soon run out of spare sweatsuits as they advance to nag Fry and further Michelle clones come out of the Planet Express ship completely bare. Bender even cites the nudity of the later Michelle clones as an upside.
** In issue 35, Fry is subjected to a nudity joke when he is burned alive on the sun due to foolishly leaving the protection of the air-conditioning device provided to him, Leela and Bender by Farnsworth. Thanks to the properties of the Miracle Cream he and Leela use as the superheroes Captain Yesterday and Clobberella, he regenerates but is left nude because his costume burned up and Bender has to give him a spare costume, but not without insisting that Fry owes him 200 dollars.
** Issue 54 has the story involve Leela being kidnapped and sold as a pet on the planet Westminsteria, where she is eventually stripped after a family purchases her and puts her in a cage. As a result of the stripping, Leela is found naked and hiding in a tree by the time Fry, Bender and Nibbler reunite with her, and she is forced to wear Fry's jacket to stay decent when they return to Earth.
** Issue 68 begins with the Planet Express crew naked and unable to remember why that is so. After looking at the footage recorded by Bender's detached eye, it's eventually revealed that they got their clothes soiled by Zoidberg's ink and then stripped to put their clothes into Farnsworth's memory-erasing machine, which they mistook for a washing machine.
* ''ComicBook/TheIncredibleHulk'': During Creator/PeterDavid's run on ''ComicBook/TheIncredibleHulk1968'', the Leader shoots the Hulk with a BFG, seriously injuring him and incinerating his clothes. The Hulk regenerates almost immediately, but his clothes don't. The Leader requests, (more or less) "Dr. Banner, please! There are ladies present... And you're making some of us men feel inadequate."
* ''ComicBook/SheHulk'': She-Hulk always seems to end up naked one way or another. Like the time her Skrull partner tries teleporting her to their ship, but only teleporting her clothes, leaving She-Hulk naked in the middle of a crowd.
* ''ComicBook/{{Sturmtruppen}}'': In one story arc, a soldier realizes that the rules say that the uniform must be kept in perfect order but [[ExactWords say nothing about]] actually ''wearing'' it. He goes around naked, and the captain and the sergeant tries to find a way to make him wear the uniform and the other soldiers start ''imitating'' him. This arc is used in TheMovie; here, however, the captain wins when he declares he'll pick one of the naked soldiers to be the attendant of the DepravedHomosexual general, prompting all the soldiers to get back in their uniforms -- except the poor schmuck who wasn't listening.
* ''ComicBook/TheSupermanAdventures'': Issue 28 has the story involve Superman and Jimmy Olsen switching brains. One part has Jimmy in Superman's body avoid looking at Lois Lane and Professor Hamilton, explaining that it's because he can't control his X-ray vision. His admission of this leads to a panel where Lois and Hamilton are depicted wearing transparent clothes, with Lois [[HandOrObjectUnderwear covering her breasts with her arm]] and [[SceneryCensor having her pelvic region obscured by Hamilton's clipboard while Hamilton is viewed from the back and has his rear obscured from view by the panel border]].
-->'''Lois:''' TURN IT OFF! TURN IT OFF!
* ''ComicBook/TeenTitans'': The 16th issue of Creator/GeoffJohns' run has Superboy's X-ray vision activate while he's on a date with Cassie Sandsmark, startling him when he ends up seeing her and everyone else in the restaurant naked.
* ''ComicBook/TopTen'': Sung "Girl One" Li is an ArtificialHuman [[WaifFu martial artist]] that can change the color of her skin at will -- her [[{{Stripperiffic}} "uniform"]] is to create a shifting pattern of lines and colors (mostly purple) on her skin that makes it hard to look at her. [[StrangelyEffectiveDisguise It works surprisingly well]] -- she later confesses to her partner at work that she's not wearing some form of jumpsuit. Note that the purple is her basic skin tone, "that of a waterlogged corpse", according to TPB extras.The justification behind this is that she was created by a couple of perverted video game fanboys who programmed her with compulsive nudism, of a sort -- she's not immodest per se, nor "really" a nudist, rather, she has a [[HypnoFool genetic compulsion that keeps her from feeling comfortable in clothing]] (but otherwise retains normal human modesty). The humour comes into play when she discovered one of her coworkers is color blind, and the [[AccidentalPervert whole "shifting patterns" thing doesn't really work...]]
* ''ComicBook/{{Wanted}}'': The Fox recounts to Wesley that the first supervillains (at least, in the sense that they were criminals with a gimmick) were a gang of robbers who committed their crimes naked so that the people they robbed would be too distracted by their nudity to identify them. Superheroes were also too afraid to do anything about them due to how inherently uncomfortable it is to fight a bunch of naked men. When Wesley asks how the crooks were eventually thwarted, the Fox simply answers "closed-circuit television", to which Wesley quips explains everything.
* ''ComicBook/{{Werner}}'': In the German comic, Meister Röhrich, after the one or other explosion %% This entry was added automatically by FELH2. In case the wording doesn't make sense, rewrite it as you like, remove this comment and tell this troper.
* ''ComicBook/WhatThe'' featured a nudity-based joke in the 24th issue in the segment "Misprints in the Comics", which had Marvel characters put in humorous situations because of a single word in their title being changed to a similar-sounding one. The panel for ''ComicBook/NewWarriors'' was entitled ''The'' '''Nude''' ''Warriors'' and depicted Speedball, Nova, Namorita, Firestar, Night Thrasher, and Marvel Boy forced to go home naked after a visit to Las Vegas, their shame only covered by [[SpeechBubbleCensoring a speech bubble]], [[HandOrObjectUnderwear some hands]], and [[SceneryCensor a conveniently located street sign and car door]].
* ''ComicBook/XMen'': In ''ComicBook/MrAndMrsX'', Kitty Pride has to call Rogue and Gambit via video phone while they're [[InsatiableNewlyweds on their honeymoon]]. The first time Gambit deliberately drops his ModestyBedsheet to make a point about being sent on a mission right now. The second time Kitty calls, an alien woman is [[ItMakesSenseInContext running around the ship naked after shapeshifting to look like Rogue]].
-->'''Kitty:''' Why are people naked on that ship every time I talk to you? Are there no pants in space?!

* ''ComicStrip/CalvinAndHobbes'': Calvin often finds any reason he can to strip down outside, such as one comic where it was too hot out, another where he decided to shed his humanity, and one where he was trying to fly and took off his clothes to lighten himself.
-->'''Calvin's Mom:''' Mrs. Carroll says a naked kid tied to a stuffed animal is running through her yard.\
'''Calvin's Dad:''' ''You'' handle it. I got the little nudist out of her bird bath, remember?
* ''ComicStrip/TheFarSide'' had a strip with Adam and Eve as modern-day apartment dwellers arranging a date in the Garden of Eden. The joke is that Eve worries that she has "nothing to wear" because she's wearing literally nothing.
* Several ''ComicStrip/ForBetterOrForWorse'' strips have the toddler characters deciding to play in their birthday suits. This mostly happened with April.
* ''Comicstrip/{{Garfield}}'' does this every so often.
** [[http://gocomics.com/garfield/1995/08/29 The time Jon made a sandwich out of his penis.]] ''He wore his '''sandwich''' and put his '''swim trunks''' in the picnic basket''. (August 29, 1995)
** In [[https://www.gocomics.com/garfield/1997/07/10 this one]], Jon remembers his board but forgets his trunks.
* In a ''Comicstrip/PearlsBeforeSwine'' strip when Stephan moves in with Rat and Pig after separating from his wife, he [[https://www.gocomics.com/pearlsbeforeswine/2014/01/24#.UuLLv7Qo7cs leaves the door open when he uses the toilet]] because he has [[TeenyWeenie nothing]] [[SelfDeprecation to hide]].
* In [[https://boboomba.weebly.com/uploads/1/1/7/8/11785220/6757968_orig.jpg this promotional comic strip]] for ''VideoGame/PunchOut'', Super Macho Man flexes hard enough to tear his speedo off, leaving him naked apart from his gloves and boots. He goes [[LuminescentBlush deep red]] from embarrassment.
* ''ComicStrip/StoneSoup'': In late 2001, Evie joins the local Senior Center and signs up for a painting class. One of her assignments is to submit something to the Senior Center's art fair, so Evie decides to paint a picture of a nude male for it. Her adult daughters Val and Joan are mortified, while everybody else (especially Evie's granddaughters) finds it funny.

* In the second chapter of ''Fanfic/AdoptionNightmare'', there are several nudity jokes that make poor Danny cover his eyes.
* Chapter 15 of ''Fanfic/AllThatShimmers'' starts with Sunset Shimmer completely naked. This disturbs her greatly, although Gaaabooo doesn't seem to mind her being naked.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse'' fanfiction'' [[https://www.deviantart.com/dandyandy1989/art/The-Loud-House-Baby-Louds-663633291 Baby Louds]]'', the entire Loud family gets turned into babies and has some fun running around naked.
* The whole story of ''Fanfic/BareSquadron'' revolves around naturist rebels.
* In ''Webcomic/CoolAndNewWebComic'', Dave/Dabe spends most of Acts 1 through 4 wandering around naked because John/Jhon made him as punishment. At one point he's given a command to put something on right as clothed corpses fall near him, but he refuses out of fear of disobeying Jhon. In the end of Act 4, when they reunite, Jhon instead forces Dabe in to a bee suit, which he finds even more humiliating.
* In ''Fanfic/{{Coveralls}}'', a shadowy figure undresses [[Series/TheXFiles Mulder]].
* In ''Fanfic/ADifferentMedius'', Buwaro has his clothes burned off by accident. Iratu also gets a moment.
* In the ''Fanfic/EmpathTheLuckiestSmurf'' ShowWithinAShow story "The Smurf of Many Colors", Jokey cracks up laughing at the scene in the play about the story of Joseph when Joseph (played by Empath) is being forced upon by Madame Potiphar (played by Smurfette) and Joseph flees from her, [[GivingThemTheStrip leaving only his garment behind]] while Empath flees off the stage naked.
* ''Fanfic/GoosebumpsAdventure'': [[AlphaBitch Priscilla]] and her [[BetaBitch two cronies]] are grabbed by the [[DemonicPossession Haunted Mask-possessed]] Courtney while changing in the school locker room and transformed into more monsters to serve her. After the Mask is defeated, they return to normal but [[LaserGuidedAmnesia with no memory of what happened]], leaving them naked and confused in the town cemetery. The following chapter reveals they had to streak home, and just enough people glimpsed them to start humiliating rumors. When Courtney and Justin hear this, it's all they can do not to crack up in Priscilla's face.
* During the second year of ''Fanfic/HarryPotterAndThePrinceOfSlytherin'', someone steals the Slytherin Quidditch team's clothes while they're showering after practice, and they have to run through the castle in nothing but skimpy wet towels while the rest of the student body laughs. Subverted in that [[spoiler:the supposed prank was actually an assassination attempt against Harry engineered by Tom Riddle. The Slytherins were meant to be trapped outside the school, naked and wet, during a blizzard, and Harry's WBWL brother intended to be the scapegoat when "a Gryffindor prank gone wrong" resulted in Harry's death.]]
* Referenced in ''Fanfic/InfiniteCoffeeAndProtectionDetail.'' FridgeLogic suggests that, since in ''Film/CaptainAmericaTheFirstAvenger'' Cap crashed the Valkyrie while wearing his superhero uniform and yet woke up in the SHIELD recovery room wearing khakis and a t-shirt, the SHIELD agents would have had to change his clothes while he was still comatose. In the story, not only did this happen, but someone made a video of the process of wrestling a recently defrosted super soldier into his new clothes and posted it online. Everyone but Steve finds this pretty amusing.
* The ''WesternAnimation/{{Daria}}'' fic ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/6755300/1/The-Latest-Fashion The Latest Fashion]]'' runs on this trope, when [[GirlPosse the Fashion Club]] gets almost the entire school to accept nudity as the newest trend.
* In ''Fanfic/LincolnsMemories'', in-universe, [[WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse Lynn Sr.]] photographs Lincoln standing naked on the toilet because he finds it funny.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse'' fanfiction ''Fanfic/ALoadOfBulk'', Lana, being six years old, has a giggle at the thought of her parents letting her run around naked when she outgrows her clothes due to taking a muscle-enlargement potion.
* ''Fanfic/AManOfIron'': When she ends up gaining [[spoiler:[[IntangibleMan intangibility]] powers]] in the last third of ''A Crack of Thunder'', Arya is very excited about trying them out... until her [[PowerIncontinence poor control]] ends up making her lose all her clothes right in front of Gendry. They're both utterly mortified, though [[spoiler:Mystique and Magneto]] find the whole thing amusing.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'' fanfiction ''Fanfic/MustLoveNedFlanders'', one "deleted scene" has Homer lying naked in his hammock for no reason.
* ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/5015770/1/a_naked_padawan A Naked Padawan]]'', a ''Franchise/StarWars'' fic has Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon taking shelter in a cave from a windy snowstorm. Obi-Wan has to strip naked because his robes are soaked and need to dry by the fire. The next morning, a couple of female Jedi arrive to pick up the stranded duo. Obi-Wan forgets briefly that he's naked and ends up slipping, landing on his back and sliding down the hill, skidding to a stop right in front of the new arrivals. He jumps up and tries [[HandOrObjectUnderwear to cover his nudity]], stammering and embarrassed, until Qui-Gon throws his robes to him.
* ''Webcomic/NaruHinaChronicles'':
** Temari claims she has no embarrassing childhood memories. However, Gaara says that Kankuro once told him about how, when she was about two or three years old, she hated wearing dresses and would remove them whenever and wherever she had the chance. This earned her the pet name of "the Suna Streaker" because she would often be running around while being naked, much to Temari's embarrassment.
** In one of the Mini-sodes, when [[LiteralSplitPersonality Naruto accidentally creates clones with different personalities]], one of them is Naruko, his female version that represents his Sexy Jutsu. At one point, she decides to completely get rid of her clothes, leaving herself naked. When she runs past Tenten and Temari, the latter two both have BlankWhiteEyes at her sight (and so do several nearby guys).
* ''Fanfic/TheNewAdventuresOfInvaderZim'': The non-canon spinoff ''New Adventures: Mature Edition'' employs this as a running theme:
** In the first entry, a teleportation spell [[NakedOnArrival gone wrong]] leaves Viera and Gaz stranded in the middle of the woods completely naked. Hilarity ensues as they try to get home without being seen.
** In the second entry, Gaz and the Hi Skool popular girls decide to humiliate Viera by jumping her as she's changing in the locker room after a shower, stealing her ModestyTowel, and throwing her out into the hallway. She then has to streak and hide around the building to avoid being seen, at one point [[BullyHunter causing Torque]] to lose his swim trunks in the skool pool so that while everyone's laughing at ''him'' they won't notice ''her'' sneaking out of the room. [[spoiler:When she gets her clothes back, she gets revenge by casting a spell that [[LaserGuidedKarma causes Gaz and the others to lose their clothes]] in front of a full cafeteria, humiliating them.]]
** In the third entry, Gaz pranks Dib by tricking him into running out of the shower and straight out of the house, [[NakedPeopleTrappedOutside which she then locks him out of]], and [[KickTheDog calling the police on him for streaking]]. In the process of hiding from the cops (and an angry dog), Dib loses his ModestyTowel, gets lost in the woods, and accidentally finds his way to a hippie nudist commune, where he bumps into Tak (who is investigating the place), leaving him [[DistractedByTheSexy quite flustered]]. [[spoiler:Meanwhile, circumstances back at the house eventually result in Gaz getting stripped and tossed out of the house by her father's lab's security systems, leading to her [[HoistByHisOwnPetard arrested by the police she called on Dib]].]]
** In the fourth entry, a bad luck curse cast by Gaz leads to Dib and Viera [[SlipperySwimsuit losing their swimsuits]] while fleeing the Slaughtering Rat People, and Steve to accidentally peep on a bathing [[OurNymphsAreDifferent Kleodora]], who then strips him as payback. [[spoiler:And when she learns Gaz was responsible for the curse, Kleodora [[LaserGuidedKarma strips her and dumps her in the woods to be chased by the Rat People as well]].]]
** The fifth entry has this happening all over the place regarding the jungle-themed Hi Skool dance: Gaz steals Viera's leopard skin bikini off of her, leaving her [[NakedPeopleTrappedOutside stranded naked outside]], Kleodora dissolves Steve's loincloth into concealing smoke and threatens to disperse it if he doesn't dance with her, and Zim obsessively tries to steal Dib's loincloth [[EvilIsPetty to humiliate him in public]]. [[spoiler:In the end, Zim succeeds but accidentally also strips Tak and Tenn in the process, [[LaserGuidedKarma who take revenge by stealing his loincloth and tossing him in front of the entire crowded gym, Viera does the same to Gaz after taking back the bikini]], and Kleodora pulls the same smoke trick on Dib and Viera to make them dance together.]]
* ''Fanfic/OSMUFanfictionFriction'': Aside from it being a TakeThat towards one person in particular, this trope pretty much drives the majority of Chapter 4. In it, Oswald, Oren, Owen and Oscar are all teleported to the lab while in the midst of taking showers, and the only one aware of it is Oswald, who begins to teeter on the verge of a panic attack as he has a NakedFreakOut. Meanwhile, Omar tells the girls to not look at the four boys in order for them to not get shocked by what's going on, but they figure it out anyway.
* ''Fanfic/PleaseStopEatingTheHellButterflies'': Quite often, even though Yamamoto outlawed public nudity. Gin is a frequent offender.
--> ""But I was wearing bunny ears!" is no excuse. Those are still ''nude'' pictures."
* Iris in ''Fanfic/PokemonResetBloodlines'' [[RaisedByWolves was raised by Dragon Pokémon]] and as a result [[InnocentFanserviceGirl sees no point in wearing clothes unless the weather is cold]]. This is used for a few gags during the story, beginning with Misty waking up to see her naked and having to explain why she needs to wear clothes. Later on, she walks in on Ash while he's [[WaterfallShower bathing under a waterfall]], and has no shame about stripping off her clothes in front of him and then joins in, [[ShowerOfAwkward much to his embarrassment]].
* In the ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' fanfiction ''Fanfic/PrincessCelestiaIsInYourBed'', Steve (a human) is embarrassed and compares the situation to losing your swim trunks.
* Used in a chapter of ''Fanfic/TheRacketRotterChronicles'' with the main cast going on their road trip naked. Harwood also uses nudity early in Arc 6 to mess around with his new neighbors.
* A downplayed example in the ''Franchise/{{Splatoon}}'' fanfic [[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14157632/1/SplatSquad-vs-Team-Blue-One-Legendary-Turf-Match-Up-an-SMG4-story "SplatSquad vs Team Blue: One Legendary Turf Match-Up"]]. According to Specs, Goggles has a habit of showing up in an undignified manner. Sure enough, he shows up in a ''speedo''. Could have been worse; he really ''could'' have been naked like he was in [[Manga/{{Splatoon}} the manga]].
* The first chapter of ''[[http://www.fimfiction.net/story/114049/this-is-the-life-a-tale-of-a-human-in-equestria This is the Life: A Tale of a Human in Equestria]]'' begins with the main character (a human) accidentally walking in on his roommate (a pony) completely naked. He panics, runs to get clothed, and yells an apology to her... only for her to not have a clue what he's worked up about since [[AvertedTrope it's completely normal to walk around naked in Equestria]].
* Ran Yakumo of ''Franchise/TouhouProject'', according to {{Fanon}}, likes to randomly shed her clothes and become the "Suppa Tenko" (Naked Heaven Fox). There's an entire ''pool'' of Suppa Tenko jokes on Danbooru, many of them Chen-induced. Since Tenshi's name can be written as "Tenko", sometimes she joins the fun just for the hell of it.
* In ''Literature/TheLordOfTheRings'' fanfiction ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/1899214/1/Two-In-A-Tub Two in a Tub]]'', a four-year-old Legolas takes off his clothes to [[FilthyFun play in the mud]], then his father chases him naked to get him to take a bath.
* Chet Kelly in the ''Series/{{Emergency}}'' fic ''[[http://web.archive.org/web/20080905165540/http://www.twochickies.com/youmakemefeellikedancin.htm You Make Me Feel Like Dancin']]'' ends up disco dancing naked at the station after his shower breaks. He finds no towels after borrowing the station's shower while the rest of the men are out and has set up a radio to have music while he does his thing. He starts dancing while looking for something to dry off with. The trouble is, he runs smack into returning Roy and John when they enter the locker room to investigate the music, and hilarity ensues, plus some chaos.
-->'''Gage:''' ''[seeing naked Chet]'' Oh, my eyes!
* From ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'', [[https://derpibooru.org/428781 this comic]] pokes fun at how Shining Armor's clothing inexplicably disappeared. The description implies King Sombra did it on purpose to humiliate him, and is either [[TooDumbToLive too stupid]] or has [[FishOutOfTemporalWater been out of the loop for so long]] he doesn't realize the ponies are usually naked anyways.
-->'''King Sombra:''' BA HA HA HAAA! NOW YOU HAVE TO WALK HOME NAKED AND ALL THE PONIES WILL POINT AND LAUGH!!!
* ''[[VideoGame/PokemonGoldAndSilver Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver]]'' have a notorious cutscene where Silver becomes incensed at the sight of the player character in a Team Rocket uniform and rips it off of them then and there. In the game, the player character is wearing their own clothes under the Rocket uniform. In the fan art of that scene... [[{{Rule 34}} not so much]].
* ''Fanfic/BecomingFemale'': Dumbledore spends a ''lot'' of time naked. No one really objects to it except for [[BigBad Ron]].
* ''Fanfic/BeastBoyAndRavenJoinPETA'' has a chapter where Beast Boy agrees to participate in a PETA demonstration that involves him being naked in public and pretending to be barbecued. Raven chews her boyfriend out by addressing that he's committing indecent exposure and that this act will do nothing to convince non-vegans to quit eating meat.
* ''Fanfic/ThereWasOnceAnAvengerFromKrypton'': Following the climax of ''Changing of the Guard'', Claire gives Gwen a glamor amulet to hide her Anodite form until they figure out how to fully restore her to her human state. It works, but then they realize that it failed to account for the prior [[ClothingDamage total destruction of her clothes during the fighting against Vilgax's forces]] (which previously didn't matter because Anodties have BarbieDollAnatomy), leading to a brief moment of embarrassment for both of the girls and the onlooking Kevin.
* ''Fanfic/InfinityTrainKnightOfTheOrangeLily'': Gladion has found himself waking up from a dose of amnesia in the Pearl Gates Car and rips off the clothes in anger as to what happened...until Larkspur brings up that he just stripped himself ''in a public park'' and everyone is seeing this. Cue him having to hide in a bush to save his decency.
-->'''Gladion:''' A knight needs pants! NOW!

[[folder:Films -- Animation]]
* At the end of ''WesternAnimation/TheAntBully'' Lucas reverts to his normal size, ''but naked''.
* Downplayed in ''WesternAnimation/{{Brave}}'', when a group of men get trapped outside on a tower and have to make a BedsheetLadder out of their kilts.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheCurseOfTheWereRabbit'', Wallace turns back to normal from being the Were Rabbit naked, so he has to wear a box to cover his naughty bits (fittingly labeled "May Contain Nuts").
* ''WesternAnimation/DespicableMe1'': A random werewolf reverts to human form while naked when the moon disappears.
* In ''WesternAnimation/AGoofyMovie'', Max scrambles out of bed in nothing but briefs and still struggles to get his pants in place when his dad Goofy barges in wearing nothing but a couple of towels.
** In the sequel, Max's friends PJ and Bobby are hanging around their college dorm in their underwear, with Bobby clad in ''pink''. In a slight subversion, Max is actually the only one dressed.
* ''WesternAnimation/HotelTransylvaniaTransformania'' has the plot involve an invention of Van Helsing's turning Johnny into a monster while making Dracula, Murray the Mummy, [[FrankensteinsMonster Frank]], [[OurWerewolvesAreDifferent Wayne]] and InvisibleStreaker Griffin human. Due to not usually wearing anything except a pair of glasses, Griffin is naked as a consequence of becoming a human being, with his and the others' shock at realizing this being played for laughs. After everyone is returned to normal, Murray insists that Griffin wear clothes and that his being invisible does not justify going naked.
* The core memory that powers Goofball Island in ''WesternAnimation/InsideOut'' is one of Riley as a toddler running away from her father after a bath with underwear on her head and then dancing naked on top of a couch.
* ''WesternAnimation/KronksNewGroove'': Kronk's elderly friend Rudy at one point had to sell his clothes to make money to buy youth potion, leading to a scene of him walking into Kronk's house completely naked to everyone's horror.
* The ''WesternAnimation/MadMonsterParty'' prequel ''Mad Mad Mad Monsters'' features a brief nudity gag where Baron von Frankenstein helps get the monsters across a cliff by stripping off the Mummy's bandages, forcing him to [[HandOrObjectUnderwear cover himself with his hands]].
* ''WesternAnimation/TheMitchellsVsTheMachines'' has a scene where Katie Mitchell gives a pep talk to her father Rick and gets sidetracked by recalling a time where she and her family ended up having to walk home in the nude because they got lost during a wilderness trip and had to burn their clothes to keep warm. We then see a brief scene of the Mitchells awkwardly sprinting past their neighbors the Poseys and [[HandOrObjectUnderwear covering up]] using a potted plant (Rick), a bush (Aaron), a mailbox (Katie) and tied-together sheets of paper/cardboard (Linda).
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Mulan}}'':
** The bath scene, beginning with Mulan nearly getting caught out by three fellow soldiers, continuing with Mulan being completely freaked out by the three naked men in far too close proximity and then the over-the-top payoff when, upon lamenting she never wants to see another naked man again, the ENTIRE ARMY stampedes nude into the river.
** [[FeatheredFiend Hayabusa]] after getting his feathers charred off.
--->'''Mushu:''' Now that's what I call Mongolian barbecue.
* ''WesternAnimation/ThePiratesInAnAdventureWithScientists'': One of the ships the pirates board is full of nudists eating [[VisualInnuendo sausages.]]
* ''Rugrats''
** ''WesternAnimation/TheRugratsMovie'': The scene where Dil pulls down Tommy's diaper showing his behind. His diaper usually slips down while he talks to his friends.
** ''WesternAnimation/RugratsInParis'': At the end, where Angelica rips Coco [=LaBouche=]'s dress to expose her underpants.
* In ''WesternAnimation/Shrek2'', Shrek the ogre turns into a human and three women find him attractive. Then, his pants fall down due to being too big for him as a human, to which Donkey says that they need to get him out of those clothes, making the women excited.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsonsMovie'', Bart is dared to skateboard naked, which leads to a scene of silly censorship and people reacting.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheSpongebobMovieSpongeOutOfWater'', it is pointed out that Plankton is naked when Past [=SpongeBob=] asks why he's naked. Plankton explains that he goes nude because they don't make clothes his size.
* In the prologue of ''WesternAnimation/{{Trolls}}'', King Peppy is forced to strip down to his underwear to save his people - before seemingly pulling off a HeroicSacrifice to save them. Moments later he proudly announces to the surprise of everyone that he's NotQuiteDead - but to their shock, he's quite ''naked'' now. The audience only sees him from behind.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Zootopia}}'': The main source of humor at the Mystic Springs Oasis Club is that it's a nudist club in a setting where [[AppropriateAnimalAttire animals are, normally, fully clothed]]. Although AnimalsLackAttributes is thankfully in full play, Judy reacts to their nudity as if the attributes were still there, and the shots are clearly intended so the audience can easily imagine them there.

[[folder:Films -- Live-Action]]
* Let's just say that this happens to Creator/JackieChan every so often.
** In ''Film/TheAccidentalSpy'', a fight scene starting in a Turkish bath has him fighting in the nude against a couple of {{Mooks}}, in a ''busy'' Istanbul market, all the while trying to [[HandOrObjectUnderwear cover up using newspapers, hand brooms, bowls of spice and other objects]].
** Then there's also a scene in ''Film/RushHour'' where he and Chris Tucker don't reach the same nudity level while fighting their rivals in a bath house, as they're wearing standard bathing robes... but when the fight's over, the two end up thrown out butt-naked.
** In ''Film/TheMedallion'' he is naked after being [[spoiler:revived]]. This doesn't happen to anyone else and is even lampshaded in-universe when [[spoiler:his ActionGirl sidekick played by the gorgeous Claire Forlani is resurrected, with Chan wondering why is she clothed?]].
* In ''Film/AliGInDaHouse'', Ali has cuffed both his hands to the railing of his local city hall to protest the closing of his favorite community center. The rival gang takes the opportunity to come by and [[PantsPullingPrank pull down his pants]], as he can't do a damn thing about it.
* ''Film/AnAmericanWerewolfInLondon'': "A naked American man just stole my balloons."
* The opening credits of ''Film/AustinPowersTheSpyWhoShaggedMe'' play over a scene wherein Austin decides to celebrate his newfound singleness by taking a stroll through the hotel in the buff, his naughty parts [[SceneryCensor concealed by various objects]].
* ''Film/TheAvengers2012'': After HulkingOut, Bruce Banner wakes up naked in the middle of a pile of debris, being watched by an old janitor.
* In the ''Film/{{Borat}}'' movie, Borat gets in a fight with his manager while both are naked in their hotel room. They end up running down the halls, riding the elevator, and running into a business convention, all while naked.
* ''Calendar Girls'' is a British comedy about a group of middle-aged housewives doing a nude calendar to raise money for charity. Creator/HelenMirren is the first to volunteer - getting pictures taken with a disposable camera, and getting a good giggle from the girl in the shop who develops them.
* In ''Film/CalenderGirl'', one of the {{Zany Scheme}}s the three hapless protagonists think up to meet Creator/MarilynMonroe involves finding her at a nude beach. A group of bad guys looking for Roy (as per the sub-plot) causes hilarity to ensue in spades. (When Roy finally ''does'' manage to talk to her, she [[ActuallyPrettyFunny actually has a good laugh]] about this part.)
* ''Film/CarryOnCamping'' has Sid Boggle and Bernie Lugg trying to trick their girlfriends Joan Fussey and Anthea Meeks into going to a nudist campground. They screwed up, however, and drove to the ''other'' campground with the same name. Then busty Babs' top flies off.
* ''Film/ACinderellaStoryOnceUponASong'': Creator/LucyHale's character Katie is locked outside completely naked by her mischievous stepbrother Victor, leading to some naked antics involving a potted plant and a welcome mat.
* ''Film/{{Circus}}'': Presumably to humiliate Leo, Troy arranges to meet him on a nudist beach where they are the only people. They end up standing up to their knees in the sea with their naked arses facing the camera.
* Very much subverted thrice in ''Film/AClockworkOrange'' (two of them in the first 20 minutes). And played straight in a sped-up montage of a menage a trois.
* ''Confetti'' was a movie about three couples preparing for their weddings. One of the couples (played by Creator/RobertWebb and Creator/OliviaColman) is a naturist couple, who are preparing a nude wedding. Webb and Colman both claimed after the movie hit theatres that they were deceived about the amount of nudity required and how much would be left in the final film, and Colman in particular - who was a fairly obscure character actor at the time, but who's gone on to be a major TV star in the UK - is still pretty bitter about it.
* Plenty O'Toole's NakedFreakOut while being forced out of Film/JamesBond's apartment wearing nothing but her panties and high heels in ''Film/DiamondsAreForever'' was clearly played for laughs.
* In one of the ''Film/DiaryOfAWimpyKid'' movies, Greg loses his swim trunks.
* ''Film/DoctorSeries'':
** In ''Film/DoctorAtLarge'', Dr. Benskin walks in on the Maharajah of Branda sitting on a couch stark naked beside his turban, much to his embarrassment.
** ''Film/DoctorInTrouble'': After misinterpreting Captain Spratt's instructions on what meal to wear a black tie to, Wendover shows up to dinner wearing one... ''and nothing else!''
* ''Film/{{Dogma}}'' has a relatively large number of naked people which are played for comedy in some sort or another. The Metatron is a Seraphim who exposes himself to reveal that his [[BarbieDollAnatomy Ken doll anatomy]] makes it impossible to rape the main character when she thinks he might. Despite being a stripper, the muse Serendipity shows the same form of anatomical incompatibility. Rufus, though, IS a human and apparently has a full set of anatomical equipment when he falls naked out of the sky onto the protagonists.
* In 1984's ''Film/ElectricDreams'', downstairs hottie Madeline walks in on Miles just as he has left the shower; Miles desperately tries to cover both himself and his sentient computer Edgar, who has a crush on Madeline and wants to meet her.
* ''Film/EuroTrip'' involved a nude beach scene. In it, the main male characters try to visit a nude beach to check out naked European women, only to discover it's full of naked men who had the same idea. When the main girl character takes her shirt off to tan in her bikini, they're chased down the beach by hordes of naked men desperate to see a nude girl. Later in the film, the girl who is the main character's love interest strips down and has sex with him in a confession booth, and her buttocks are squashed into a vent and seen through glass for comic effect.
* ''Fantastic Four''
** Happens to Sue in ''Film/FantasticFour2005'' two times when she's still getting the hang of turning invisible, and her clothes disappear. She goes through this again in ''[[Film/FantasticFourRiseOfTheSilverSurfer Rise of the Silver Surfer]]'', but only because her powers have switched with her brother Johnny's, and her clothes instead burn off.
** When Johnny's PlayingWithFire powers first manifested, ''his'' clothes were burned off. He spent a whole scene awkwardly prancing around with a jacket as a sort-of makeshift cover around his nether parts. (A jacket belonging to the same girl he had just made out with.)
* The audience is "treated" to Jason Segel's full-frontal privates at the outset ''Film/ForgettingSarahMarshall'' ... the shock value of the penis had the audiences howling.
** By extension ([[{{Pun}} har har]]), anything even tangentially related to Creator/JuddApatow is likely going to involve giving the audience a peek at some guy's schlong. Suffice to say that Apatow has [[AccidentalInnuendo a firm grip]] on this trope.
* One of the running jokes in ''Film/{{Gambit}}'' is that Harry Deane keeps telling Puznowski that his boss, Lord Shahbandar, is a nudist. Later in the film, Puznowski brings it up and it appears that Deane was mistaken the whole time. [[spoiler:Then the last shot of the film is Shahbandar, in the nude, admiring his art collection]].
* Elliot from ''Film/TheGoodbyeGirl'' likes to sleep in the nude, and when he can't sleep, he likes to play the guitar, which happens to disturb his unwilling roommate Paula.
-->'''Paula:''' I thought you said you were decent.\
'''Elliot:''' I am decent. I also happen to be naked.
* Mr Chow in ''Film/TheHangover'', or as he's more commonly known: "the naked Asian dude." His actor actually recommended the nudity as he felt it would make the scene funnier.
** Earlier while visiting a hospital the trio is forced to wait uncomfortably as their doctor examines an old nude man.
* ''Film/HarryPotterAndTheGobletOfFire'' more so than the book, where Harry being caught taking a bath by Moaning Myrtle is played for CringeComedy.
* ''Film/HeartOfDragon'' had a scene where Danny, an autistic man, plays with his rubber ducky in his bathtub and sticking his ass out of the water. It's ''supposed'' to be funny.
* ''Film/TheHungerGamesCatchingFire'' has an UncomfortableElevatorMoment where Johanna enters and [[NakedOnArrival starts stripping down]] in front of three people. One of whom is [[http://i.perezhilton.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/joanna-naked-katniss-everdeen.gif clearly]] [[http://24.media.tumblr.com/618d08d462dbd297d6f2b7c51638e59c/tumblr_mwuushzl0d1qgl39lo1_250.gif disturbed]].
* ''Film/JoyRide'': The tense thriller has a [[BlackComedy darkly comic]] scene in which Fuller and Lewis are forced by Rusty Nail to go inside a truck stop fully nude.
* ''I Love Trouble'' features Julia Roberts skinny dipping and then getting her humorous punishment for it by getting photographed by a bunch of boyscouts.
* The 1980s B-movie ''The Invisible Kid'' features an [[InvisibleStreaker invisibility potion that doesn't affect clothes]] and only worked for a little while. When the effect wears off, the character(s) usually materializes ''au naturel'' in an inconvenient place. This is extremely common in fiction using Invisibility, especially if it's a teen+ comedy or the subject is female. Indeed, the [[RuleThirtyFour invisible woman fan subculture]] on the Internet calls this a "TFI" -- True Femmes Invisible. Contrast "FFI" -- Fading Femmes Invisible -- which is what you call it when clothing goes invisible, too.
* Every film in the ''Series/{{Jackass}}'' franchise has utilized this, from the Muscle Stimulator on the “gooch” in the first film, Wee-Man randomly walking in naked during a meeting in “Number Two”, Chris Pontius successfully hitting a baseball by using his penis as a bat in “3D”, and too many cases in “Jackass Forever”, but notable ones are Chris dressing up his genitalia as a giant kaiju monster, and Steve-O having a whole hive of bees sting his. Keep in mind, these are only A FEW of the times they’ve used this trope in the entire franchise.
* The Hong Kong film, ''Film/AKidFromTibet'' had Wong La's magic demonstration in the middle of a banquet going wrong... and erasing the clothing of more than 20 [=VIPs=] in attendance. Including a rather portly man who gets a close-up shot of his naked butt as he tries crawling under a table. It was all played for laughs, by the way.
* This happens in ''Film/KindergartenCop'', where the protagonist (Arnold Schwarzenegger's character) walks in on his partner having sex with her fiancé; the whole scene is played for laughs, especially when the guy covers himself using her ''very'' feminine bathrobe. (The guy later reappears at the end of the film, where Schwarzenegger jokes that he didn't recognize him with his clothes on.)
* In George A. Romero's ''Knightriders'' Julie (Patricia Tallman) becomes a victim of NakedPeopleTrappedOutside when she is seen naked after having sex with Alan in the forest at night. When she realizes she's being seen by the group's Friar Tuck, she has a very subdued almost too stunned to react NakedFreakout as her shame is played for laughs.
* In ''Film/AKnightsTale'', Creator/GeoffreyChaucer (played by Creator/PaulBettany) has lost all his clothes gambling and is leisurely strolling nude along a dirt road when the heroes first meet him.
* ''Film/TheLastSummer:'' Foster recalls one girl he went after, Brenda Boner, actually was willing to have sex but as they stepped down her dad came home so they had to sit on a couch under a blanket for a long time to cover up how they weren't wearing pants or underwear, with Brenda's dad sitting next to them to watch TV.
* In ''Film/TheLostCity'', [[InstantLeechJustFallInWater Alan's stroll through a river leads to leeches]] that Loretta needs to remove, and some of them were attacked his butt, making her very uncomfortable once he takes off his pants.
* In ''Film/TheMaidenHeist'', George is obsessed with a nude male statue called "The Bronze Warrior", and strips completely naked in order to fully appreciate the piece -- and compare the statue's physique to his own. Hilarity ensues when George is in the middle of admiring the statue naked when a guard comes 12 minutes ahead of schedule. George ends up hiding in a crate, still naked. Major FanDisservice, unless you have always wanted to see William H. Macy's bare backside.
* The titular character in ''Film/MontyPythonsLifeOfBrian'' makes an accidental naked appearance in front of a crowd that thinks he's the Messiah. They continued to do so with their post-Python work as well, including John Cleese's nude scene in ''Film/AFishCalledWanda''. Terry Jones also (allegedly) wrote the {{Novelization}} of Douglas Adams' ''Literature/StarshipTitanic'' in the nude, and only agreed to write it if he could do so; he also apparently played the organ while nude in ''Creator/MontyPython's Complete Waste Of Time'' to taunt players for breaking the rules.
* ''Film/MillionairesExpress'': Right at the beginning of the film, the protagonist tries looting what he assumes to be the dead bodies of Russian soldiers... only to be captured alive when the soldiers turns out to be playing dead as part of a training exercise. He ends up being forced to perform a striptease dance while in his underwear and a fake bra, wearing a mop as a wig. It's all PlayedForLaughs.
* In ''Film/MysteryMen'', Invisible Boy can only become invisible when no one is looking. After using his power during the PlotTailoredToTheParty, he asks if his teammates can see him. [[InvisibleStreaker It turns out they can]].
-->'''The Blue Raja:''' Two hands there, son.\
'''The Bowler''': Maybe you should put some shorts on or something if you want to keep fighting evil today.
* [[PunnyName Areola]] from ''Film/NotAnotherTeenMovie'' is a foreign exchange student from "Europe" (in a deleted scene, she dodges the question of what country she's really from) who spends the entire film nude, with [[UnusuallyUninterestingSight no one really reacting to her]], except the main female character looking uncomfortable the first time she's introduced. Later, during a party, another nude girl sees her and screams out "Oh my god! She totally copied my outfit!" When speaking, her English-but-heavily-accented (with random accents) voice is subtitled, with the subtitles moving out of the way to make sure they do not block her breasts in any way.
* In a combination of both this and {{Fanservice}}, ''Film/TheProposal'' has the scene where Sandra Bullock takes a bath, but the towel is in the adjacent bedroom -- with an angry dog! And to make things worse, after removing the dog from her way (with [[HandOrObjectUnderwear arms strategically positioned]]), she collides with an equally naked Ryan Reynolds.
* The penultimate scene in ''Film/RedRocket'' has Simon Rex’s character running [[MaleFrontalNudity stark naked]] through his neighborhood in the wee hours of the morning, [[spoiler:to the tune of NSYNC's “Bye, Bye, Bye”, no less]].
* ''Film/RevengeOfTheSith'': Grievous when he strips out of his robe. Since he is robotic, it's completely G-Rated.
* The final match in ''Film/ShaolinSoccer'' ends with a kick so powerful that the ensuing RazorWind shreds the opposing goalie's clothes clean off his body.
* Both Creator/GuyRitchie's ''Franchise/SherlockHolmes'' movies feature examples:
** In the [[Film/SherlockHolmes2009 first one]], there is a scene where a maid enters Irene Adler's hotel room, and gasps upon seeing Holmes [[ChainedToABed cuffed to the bed]] with a pillow covering his groin.
-->'''Sherlock Holmes:''' Madam, I need you to remain calm, and [[TrustMeImAnX trust me, I'm a professional]]. But beneath this pillow... lies the key to my release. ''[the maid screams again and runs out in disgust; cut to Holmes retelling the story to Clarkie in a carriage]'' Of course, she misinterpreted my meaning entirely.\
'''Constable Clark:''' Naturally, sir.\
'''Sherlock Holmes:''' That's why I find this modern religious fervor so troubling. There's no room for misunderstanding.\
'''Constable Clark:''' Faith runs right over reason, sir.\
'''Sherlock Holmes:''' Indeed. And chamber maids were once such a liberal breed.\
'''Constable Clark:''' My wife's a chamber maid, sir. ''[pause]'' Anyhow, it's a good thing she was offended, sir. Otherwise, we'd never have found you. The Inspector's been over to Baker Street himself twice this morning, sir.\
'''Sherlock Holmes:''' Ah, yes. ''[another pause]''\
'''Constable Clark:''' Just joking about the wife, sir.
** In the [[Film/SherlockHolmesAGameOfShadows second film]], we find that Mycroft apparently has a habit of wandering around his home stark naked. He has a cheerful conversation with a mortified Mary when she runs into him like this, while his servants, who obviously are accustomed to this, don't even bat an eye when they come in to serve breakfast.
* ''Film/AShotInTheDark'', the second ''[[Franchise/ThePinkPanther Pink Panther]]'' movie, involved Inspector Clouseau having to sneak onto a nude resort to find a witness. They end up having to escape for some reason or other and end up arrested for their trouble.
* The funniest scene in ''Film/{{Sideways}}'' happened to use this trope.
* Subverted in ''Film/{{Silverado}}'': characters react with horror to the sight of Paden (Creator/KevinKline), who has been robbed of everything except his long johns. Although his body is completely covered from neck to ankles, parents still pull their children away and one character tells him to "put some clothes on".
* ''Film/SomebodyIUsedToKnow'': High on weed, Cassidy brings up Ally's nudist tendencies and the two streak through the golf course. Humor is mined from it when Sean's young nephew Brad starts chasing after them.
* The fantasy rom com ''Film/{{Splash}}'' introduces Madison in human form walking near the Statue of Liberty area naked.
* The start of ''Film/StarTrekNemesis'' features the Enterprise crew going to Riker and Troi's wedding. The wedding in the film follows human tradition, but they're planning a second ceremony on Betazed, where Troi's from, and Betazoids traditionally marry in the nude. Worf gets embarrassed and Picard hits the gym.
* Averted with ''Film/StrangerByTheLake'', featuring a cast of gay male nudists. The fact that Henri does ''not'' get naked marks him out as different, and a source of bemusement to the others.
* ''Film/StTrinians2007'' has the newcomer for the BoardingSchoolOfHorrors [[GoneSwimmingClothesStolen having her clothes stolen while she's in the shower]], being forced to run naked on the corridors seeking a solution. [[InstantHumiliationJustAddYouTube And the other girls are livestreaming the whole thing on YouTube!]]
* ''Film/ThirteenGoingOnThirty'' is about a thirteen year old being transported into the mind of her thirty-year-old self. She discovers her boyfriend [[NakedOnArrival coming out of the shower]], and it's played for CringeComedy.
-->'''Jenna:''' I saw his thingy!
-->'''Lucy:''' [[DeadpanSnarker Oh God, not his thingy]].
* ''Film/WeWereSoldiers'', suprisingly enough. There is a deleted scene where a soldier tells a story about a previous unit he was in, where their platoon commander, [[EnsignNewbie fresh out of ROTC]], ordered all of his soldiers to put on all of their decorations so he could see what kind of men he was leading. He particularly gets in the face of the [[OldSoldier big ugly scarred platoon Sergeant]]. The sergeant returns to the barracks, and comes back wearing ''only'' his combat boots, with his decorations ''[[ExactWords pinned directly to his chest]]'', and wearing a Medal of Honor. The lieutenant, seeing the medal, is forced to salute the platoon sergeant.
* ''Film/WelcomeToMooseport'': Harv the middle-aged jogger is constantly seen jogging completely naked (save for socks and tennis shoes) and everybody seems pretty fine with it. Several full rear views of Harv are shown as he jogs down the town street--his butt is the ''opening shot''. In several shots, a large banner blocks a frontal view of him.
-->'''Handy''': New socks, Harv?\
'''Harv''': Yeah.\
'''Handy''': Yeah, I like 'em, they go well with...each other.\
'''Harv''': Thanks.
* In ''Film/WhenEvilCalls'', Michael wishes for XRayVision so he can see the girls' basketball team naked. Although he gets his wish, he then finds he cannot turn the power off, so he sees not only the nubile basketballers nude, but also his middle-aged male teacher, his headmaster, and his overweight father naked. Hellish for Michael, but hilarious for the audience.
* ''Wildflower Girl'', about an Irish girl emigrating to America during the late 1800s, has a chapter where Peggy decides to take a bath in the kitchen sink of the house she works in. Peggy gets found by the young son, who needs help with something, and the comedy comes from [[UnusuallyUninterestingSight his non-reaction]] to finding one of the maids naked in the sink.
* ''Film/XMenOriginsWolverine'' uses the trope. After Wolverine's [[FullFrontalAssault initial rampage in the buff]], which is naturally done seriously... he ends up running to the nearest barn, to the surprise of the old couple who own it.
* The very last scene of the 1966 French film ''The King of Hearts'' has nuns see a naked man holding a birdcage at their gate.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Jokes]]
* A woman gets a dog as a prize at a free theater event. She decides to name the dog "Free-show" because of this. One day, she's in the bathtub and the dog jumps out the open window and runs down the street. The naked woman runs down the street after the dog, yelling "FREE SHOW! FREE SHOW!"
** Optional second part of joke: The woman gets another dog and names it Seymour. One day, she's in the bathtub and Seymour gets out and runs down the street. Once again the naked woman runs down the street, yelling, "Seymour! Seymour!" The postman, walking by on his route, says, "Lady, I seen enough already!"
* A new preacher comes to a small town on a Friday and decides it would be a good idea to visit each member of his congregation at home to get to know them before Sunday's service. All goes well until he comes to one house. The preacher knocks and rings the doorbell, but even though the lights are on and activity can be seen inside, no one answers the door. Exasperated, but deciding it's best not to bother them, the preacher takes a card out of his pocket and writes "Revelation 3:20" on it, before slipping it under the door and leaving. Comes Sunday, after finishing his sermon at the local church, the preacher finds the card in his collection basket and sees that the resident of the house has written "Genesis 3:10" on it.
-->'''Revelation 3:20''' ''Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and will dine with him, and he with Me.''\
'''Genesis 3:10''' ''I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked.''
* Three butt-naked men arrive at the Pearly Gates. Saint Peter asks the first man how he died.\
"I came home from work early, and find my wife naked. I figured she was waiting for me to come home, so I take off my clothes, when suddenly I hear a noise at the balcony, and I see a naked guy hanging on for dear life. Then I understand my wife's cheating on me, so I start beating on his hands, and I was so angry that I ripped the refrigerator away from the wall and threw it at him, then lost my balance and fell over the side. And then I saw this light, and I was here."\
Saint Peter calls up the second man and asks how he died.\
"Well, I was doing my workout routine naked on my balcony on the 10th floor, suddenly there was a gust of wind and I fell off. Fortunately I managed to grab the balcony beneath mine, and I was just starting to climb back up when this naked lunatic comes up and starts hitting my hands, and then he comes at me with a goddamn refrigerator! Next thing I know I'm standing here."\
Saint Peter asks the third man how he died.\
"OK, picture this: I'm hiding, butt-naked, in a refrigerator-"

* ''Literature/Aeon14'': Sera normally has her artificial skin set to provide her with BarbieDollAnatomy unless otherwise specified. However, Fina and Serafina take to messing with the settings as a prank, causing her to sometimes reacquire external genitalia in public—including once in front of Jason Andrews, whom she's become attracted to.
* ''Series/{{Angel}}'': In the novel ''Image'', Wesley tries to infiltrate a tabloid blackmail ring by hiring Merl TheInformant to pose as a demon gigolo who services human celebrities. In order to test his claim about being irresistible to human women, the woman running the tabloid makes Merl do a striptease (to Wesley's mortification). Once he's naked, she declares that his total lack of sex appeal (including a TeenyWeenie crack) makes it obvious he is a spy and tries to kill Merl and Wesley. Merl struggles to put his pants back on throughout the ensuing fight.
* ''Literature/BarebumBilly'' is an Australian children's book about a boy named Billy Bottom who enjoys running around with no clothes on. In adulthood, he ends up marrying a woman named Millie, who adapts easily to her husband's nudist lifestyle and goes naked as well.
* The whole premise of ''Literature/ButtOut'' is that Baboon decides to ditch his clothes and walk around town with his butt hanging out, with onlookers giving amusingly offended reactions.
* In ''Literature/CodexAlera'', when Invidia Aquitaine is supremely OutGambitted by Amara, the latter leaves the former tied up naked in a forest, because: "The poisonous bitch deserved it."
* ''Literature/DiaryOfAWimpyKid'':
** In "The Long Haul", Greg remembers being a little kid and not wanting to wear a certain bathing suit, so running off naked.
** In "Double Down", Greg remembers accidentally walking in on his dad in the shower.
* Werewolf Sergeant Angua of [[Literature/{{Discworld}} the Watch]] often goes "plainclothes" in the course of the investigation, and when she needs the use of hands or a non-wolf mind, she usually doesn't have her clothes on hand. While usually alone or with a fellow officer who's polite enough to close his eyes while she's naked, twice in ''Literature/{{Jingo}}'' she's forced into a situation where she appears naked in front of strangers. Both times, she tells off the gawker while turning nearby curtains or a tent into makeshift clothing.
** Similarly, female vampires are unable to do that whole "turn into a swarm of bats then re-form in full clothing" thing that male vampires are able to do, [[DoubleStandard for some reason]]. Sally, the Watch's first vampire, and Angua end up having to steal clothes from a strip club in ''Literature/{{Thud}}'' when they both end up naked during an investigation. As both have issues with each other, Terry Pratchett uses the scene to subvert various tropes - they are the classic ill-matched pair of patrol partners, as werewolves and vampires normally do ''not'' get on. Sally has been flirting with Angua's man, and wolves are territorial. finally, Sally defuses the fight by noting that they are both naked and about to do something extreme while knee-deep in mud; people would pay good money to see that. This perhaps Pratchett's ShoutOut and author comment on all the slash FanFiction in which his characters get it on together, in unlikely homo pairings, in contrived situations.
** While not actual nudity, but in one illustration in ''Literature/TheLastHero'' Rincewind is strapped into a three-axis rotation device, stripped down to a loincloth for no clear reason other than this. The clear reason other than this is that it's a parody of Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man (oh, come on, you've seen it, it's the "guy with multiple arms and legs in a circle" picture). The loincloth is a sop to modesty, VM is fully nude.
** In ''Literature/{{Night Watch|Discworld}}'', Archchancellor Ridcully is sent from his bath to the front lawn by a magic storm. Naked ''wizards'' are funnier. Especially when, even though he's wearing his own hat, he borrows Ponder's to use as HandOrObjectUnderwear. At first he was fine, saying [[InsaneTrollLogic since a wizard is only properly dressed if he has his hat, the hat is all he needs to be properly dressed]]. It's only realizing what company has arrived that makes him change his mind.
* ''Literature/TheDresdenFiles'':
** Harry Dresden has an unfortunate habit of getting into situations naked or close to it. Special props to the first book, where he has to fight a toad demon stark naked (he was in the shower when it showed up), while his girlfriend is with him, ''while'' she is high on a LovePotion.
** Averted with the werewolves. After a little while, it just becomes a fact.
* In the ''Literature/{{Jim}}'' book "You Can Swim, Jim", Brad slides down a water slide and [[SlipperySwimsuit loses his trunks]].
* A running gag in Literature/AndyGriffithsJustSeries involves Andy ending up naked in front of his dad's boss Mr. Bainbridge and his wife.
** After sealing the shower cubicle shut with silicone in an attempt to fill it with water and subsequently escaping through the ceiling, Andy finds himself falling naked onto the dining table while the family is hosting Mr. and Mrs. Bainbridge for dinner.
** After a mishap involving a runaway pram in ''Just Stupid'', Andy ends up flying through the air naked and says that it "actually feels nice because [he feels] the wind on places you don't normally get to feel the wind on." He ends up landing in Mr. Bainbridge's backyard pool.
** In "Mud Men", Andy and his dad end up trapped naked outside, where they get the idea to cover themselves in mud and sneak into his dad's office to retrieve his housekeys. Funnily enough, they ''both'' end up naked in front of Mr. and Mrs. Bainbridge, prompting the former to fire Andy's Dad.
** In one story, Andy and his family end up in a naturist camp by mistake. As he finds himself being chased by hordes of naturists, Andy ironically bumps into Mr. and Mrs. Bainbridge in the nude.
* In ''Literature/FantasticBeastsAndWhereToFindThem'', the Fwooper entry mentions how a wizard named Uric the Oddball attempted to prove to the wizarding community that listening to the Fwooper's singing wouldn't drive the listener insane. [[NotHelpingYourCase Problem was]], he showed up to present his arguments wearing nothing but a hat, which turned out to be a dead badger.
* ''Literature/IJedi'': Corran is firebombed by one of the gangs he attacks as a VigilanteMan, and uses EnergyAbsorption to survive the heat. Much to his chagrin, he discovers afterwards that the Force didn't protect any of the clothes he was wearing: the only thing he had with him that survived was his lightsaber. Elegos covers it up by claiming that Corran's crashed his speeder bike, which two nearby women find uproariously funny.
* The third ''Literature/MsWiz'' book "You're Knicked, Ms Wiz" revolves around a load of neighbourhood cats being kidnapped for their fur, helmed by a Cruella de Ville {{Expy}} called Mrs Darcy. The climax has Ms Wiz not only freeing the cats, but also restoring the animals that made her fur coat to life. She screams "but everything I'm wearing is fur!" and flees to her car. When the police chief is pointed in the direction of "the ringleader", he indeed discovers that Mrs Darcy is completely naked, leading to an EverybodyLaughsEnding.
* In the children's book ''Literature/{{Naked}}'', a little boy gets out of his bath and enjoys running around wearing first naked and then with nothing on but a cape.
* The children's book ''Naked Butt Busts Out!'' by Jane Smith is about a young rabbit boy who likes to run around in the buff due to finding clothes uncomfortable. By the end of the story, he's managed to convince everyone else that it's better to be naked, including his mother.
* The children's book ''Literature/NuddyNed'' is about a boy who goes around streaking and refusing to wear clothes, much to the embarrassment of his parents (who eventually are convinced to join their son in running around naked). There was a sequel titled ''Nuddy Ned's Christmas'', where Ned convinced Santa Claus to make his deliveries in the nude.
* ''Literature/TheRavenTower'': {{Inverted|Trope}}. In Vastai, if you have offended someone deeply enough that they sit naked at your doorstep in public, it's a deadly serious accusation and a mark of terrible shame against you. Mawat does this in front of the palace to publicly accuse his uncle of being TheUsurper.
* In ''[[Literature/{{Redwall}} Martin the Warrior]]'', the BigBad Badrang cuts a random minion's belt when he finds himself needing a rope. The belt was holding up the kilt which was the only thing said minion was wearing, and he ends up with his fellow soldiers and the whole slave line laughing at him. Since they have fur, this [[HalfDressedCartoonAnimal may not be as big a deal as usual]].
* Manny, the printer and handyman of ''Literature/TheStrangerTimes'' newspaper, is usually too [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} spaced-out]] to notice if he's walking around naked. He doesn't understand why other folks are [[PleasePutSomeClothesOn scandalized]] when half the population have similar... equipment... and a good portion of the other half have seen the like before. His nudity and the various reactions to it are played for comedy.
* Though he's not really a nudist, per se, when Zedd shows up in ''[[Literature/SwordOfTruth Wizard's First Rule]]'', he's on his Wizard's Rock stark naked; Kahlan reacts with shock, and Richard makes it clear this is a normal thing for him. He later suggests to a sorceress that she try it some time, though this is less about comedy and more about Zedd being a horny old man.
* In ''The Trouble With Moonlight'' by Donna [=MacMeans=], the heroine, Lusinda Havershaw, is a beautiful virgin who can turn invisible when she absorbs enough moonlight, but her clothes do not turn invisible with her, so in order to work as a spy and retriever of lost trinkets she must be completely naked. If she is away from the moonlight for too long, she will gradually become visible again. Three times in the book she becomes trapped in a house on a mission and away from moonlight and she is forced to make a hasty escape before she materializes, so as to avoid capture and humiliation. In both instances, she is witnessed in her half-visible state and assumed to be a ghost, at one point described as "a ghost with a shapely backside".
* ''Literature/XWingSeries'': Wedge Antilles' "greatest revenge" on Wes, who'd been pranking him for months, involved tricking Wes into a situation where he was naked, smeared in fruit-and-leaf-compost, forced to grab the Ewok doll he'd been pranking Wedge with to [[HandOrObjectUnderwear hide behind]], and seen by the entire squadron. And it was awesome.
-->'''Wes:''' I have ''so'' been set up.
** Another character tells the story of the time they wound up locked out of their quarters and were discovered in this state by their (previous) commanding officer, widely believed to have NoSenseOfHumor. Seeking RefugeInAudacity, the character saluted the CO and reported an unsuccessful test of the Personal CloakingDevice.
--->'''Face:''' He turned out to be all right. He made me hold salute for a while, looked me over, returned my salute, and said, "It's obvious this project was a failure. I suggest you go and cover up its shortcomings." So I did.
** Creator/AaronAllston ''loves'' this trope. In ''[[Literature/NewJediOrder Enemy Lines II: Rebel Stand]]'', Luke takes a dip in a devourer tank, a tank full of microorganisms forming a goo. These microorganisms were created to digest any organic matter they came in contact with. Luke avoids a CruelAndUnusualDeath by thinking, ''very'' insistently, "I am not food" at the goo constantly. ''He'' survives the experience, however...
--->'''Luke:''' I guess I should have told the stuff, "my clothes aren't food, either".
* ''Literature/PrincessesOfThePizzaParlor'': To Cassie's audience in her nightmare in the fourth book, as part of her NotWearingPantsDream:
--> she'd been about to make a presentation for her final exam at the Moon Temple's seminary, only to realize halfway through that she was completely naked. When she'd turned to run and hide, everyone [[spoiler:had seen the bunny-tail right over her royal bottom, and]] had laughed even harder.
* ''Literature/TheWinnieYears'': In ''Thirteen Plus One'', when Winnie, Dinah and Cinnamon are looking for a camp for Dinah to attend, they stumble upon a site for a teen nudist camp, and are both amused and horrified by it.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Music]]
* The Music/RayStevens song "The Streak" revolves around a series of reports where a man and his wife Ethel witness a man streaking [[spoiler:and Ethel eventually joining the streaker, much to her husband's indignation]].
--> "DON'T LOOK, ETHEL!!"
* The video for Music/{{Blink 182}}'s [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7l5ZeVVoCA "What's My Age Again?"]] should be renamed as "Naked People Are Funny: the Video". The band [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prvp53uUJEU later did a]] DistaffCounterpart InternalHomage.
* Music/DaYoopers' first full Christmas album was titled ''Naked Elves in Cowboy Boots''. Yes, it had a song about the titular elves.
* "I Wanna Be Naked" by Music/ScreechingWeasel, in which Ben Weasel sings about the benefits of being a nudist (not getting made fun of for how you dress, not wasting time deciding what to wear, etc.)
* Music/DavidByrne: [[Music/DavidByrneAlbum "Buck Naked"]] is a comedic, goofy-sounding ditty about streaking across the highway.
* "Nothin' but Cowboy Boots" by Blue County plays with this trope in the first two verses, which focus on the narrator playing naked in a lawn sprinkler as a child, then being dared to streak through town square by his buddies. But the third verse turns it on its head by having the narrator's wife come downstairs in "nothin' but cowboy boots".
* The "First It Giveth" music video by Music/QueensOfTheStoneAge is famous among fans for displaying then-bassist Nick Oliveri playing buck-naked on-stage during some snippets of him in the video.
* Music/RandyNewman's "Naked Man" is about a mugger who uses this as his gimmick. Newman wrote the song after hearing an anecdote from a public defender friend of his.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mythology and Religion]]
* Myth/JapaneseMythology had the tale of [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ame_no_Uzume Ame-no-Uzume]], the goddess of dawn, mirth and revelry. She danced naked ("[[VideoGame/{{Persona1}} and crazy!]]") in front of the eight million gods to induce laughter, instead of arousal; the thunderous laughter of so many gods then induced curiosity of the Sun Goddess Amaterasu, who up until that point, [[AchillesInHisTent had been locking herself in a cave]] due to [[SiblingRivalry her little brother]] and God of Thunder Susano-o's serious misbehavior. Long story short, laughter was had, and [[CueTheSun Sunlight was restored]]. The story didn't give details about the naked dancing goddess, some said she was a fair maiden, other said she was a [[BigFun funny fat woman]]... and some retellings [[BigBeautifulWoman split the difference]].
* In the ''Literature/BookOfGenesis'', after TheGreatFlood, Noah plants a vineyard and makes wine out of the grapes he harvests. He imbibes a little too much of his homemade wine and [[AlcoholInducedIdiocy gets so drunk that he takes his clothes off]]. Later, his son Ham finds him passed out in the nude, points and laughs and calls his brothers in to laugh with him. Rather than ComeToGawk, his brothers simply look away and cover their dad with a blanket. When Noah wakes up with a hangover and finds out that Ham laughed at him, Noah curses Canaan. ([[MisaimedFandom Which was and is, unfortunately, used to justify slavery and racism towards black people]]. He did not curse all of Ham's descendants, as some slaveholders claimed he had in order to salve their aching consciences.)
* In the Orphic version of [[Mythology/ClassicalMythology the myth of Demeter and Persephone]], the comic figure of Baubo showed her vulva to Demeter to make the goddess laugh as she mourned the disappearance of Persephone. It worked.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Professional Wrestling]]
* Naked Mideon.
* In a 2002 episode of Raw, Chris Jericho and Christian got their clothes stolen by the Dudley Boyz and spent much of the show backstage wearing only towels trying to find them. Later, when they're on the stage, Spike Dudley rips their towels off.
* Brian Kendrick is convinced by Sean O'Haire to streak. Security tries to chase him from the building and he hides in [[OhCrap Stephanie McMahon's office]]. Stephanie finds it ActuallyPrettyFunny.
* During a Divas hardcore match between {{Wrestling/Ivory}} and [[Wrestling/TerriPoch Tori]] they end up brawling into the bathroom - where {{Wrestling/Jacqueline}} was showering.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Radio]]
* The episode "Bare Necessities" of ''Radio/TheMenFromTheMinistry'' has One and Two stripping down in order to negotiate with the owner of a Nudist colony about buying the land, but since they do it in the night they keep going into wrong houses in the dark.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Roleplay]]
* ''Roleplay/DawnOfANewAgeOldportBlues'':
** A RunningGag is Jenna losing her clothes and fretting over people seeing her naked. What makes it comedic is that Jenna has been transformed into a [[TheWormThatWalks mass of insects]], so no-one understands why she freaks out when she doesn't have any clothes to wear.
** After the first time that the [[SuperpoweredEvilSide Dark Dragon]] takes over Simon's body, Simon wakes up to discover that he's stuck up a tree and stark naked. His ensuing panic at trying to find clothes is PlayedForLaughs.
* Used in ''Roleplay/SurvivalOfTheFittest'' with Sam Sorenson, who spent a good portion of his time on the island running around naked.
--> '''Sam:''' Umm...hi! You see, I was abducted from my nudist cruise and sent here for some comedic purposes with no clothes, I really do need help and no do not worry about my modesty for being a nudist I have gone all my life with people staring at my dingaling! Really, just all bow down before the wrath of Kahn! Kahn!
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Video Games]]
* The opening level of ''[[VideoGame/DmCDevilMayCry DmC]]'' (after the credits) has Dante waking up with a hangover in just a tanktop. He answers a knock on his door in a surly mood without bothering to dress, to the mild shock of the female guest. They have a brief conversation, and then Dante gets attacked by a demon, leading to a lengthy sequence where he tries to find his clothes and guns without getting himself killed while his environment is torn to pieces around him. The scene's absurdity is made perfect by Dante's total indifference to being naked and the ridiculous acrobatics he has to pull just to get his pants on.
* ''Franchise/DragonAge'' allows you to unequip character armor and robes at any time (even in the middle of battle). Players who pay attention to character [[RelationshipValues approval bars]] will see a FaceHeelTurn coming along and wisely remove their armor if they're planning on leaving with it (thus making angry, drama-charged moments gagfests while you stare at your party members' adult diapers). See [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scwUB7cEsac this]] video for the dangers of leaving party members in the flesh.
* ''Franchise/TheElderScrolls'':
** ''[[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsIIIMorrowind Morrowind]]'':
*** You get some funny remarks when you talk to people while naked. This can even be ''useful'', as the "PC is naked" response usually supersedes any other response, including automatic "Goodbyes" which would normally leave you unable to converse with certain [=NPCs=], making it impossible to raise their disposition or taunt them into attacking you.
*** Three Nords encountered during the game have run afoul of witches, who leave them naked in the wilderness. This is referenced by a naked Nord in the ''Tribunal'' expansion who insists he's never met any witches; it's just really hot out.
** In ''[[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsIVOblivion Oblivion]]'', Sanguine, the [[OurGodsAreDifferent Daedric Prince]] of [[FunPersonified Debauchery]] and [[TheHedonist Hedonism]], gives a quest to crash a stuffy noble's dinner part and cast a special "clothing removal" spell to liven things up a little. (He fails to mention that the spells also affects the PlayerCharacter.)
** An unintentional example in ''[[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim Skyrim]]'', where a GoodBadBug would sometimes [[http://steamcommunity.com/id/StarSword_C/screenshot/452848015066825877 cause the courier to make his deliveries wearing nothing but a hat]]. Bethesda fixed it in the 1.9 patch, unfortunately.
* The ''VideoGame/EpicBattleFantasy'' series has a handful of naked beachgoer [=NPCs=] played for laughs:
** ''VideoGame/EpicBattleFantasy3'': One of the first people the party runs across in Rock Lake is a naked old man that horrifies all of them. Just a few screens later is a nude woman who gives a quest, Lance finding the whole deal awkward and she tells the group to stop staring at her.
** In ''VideoGame/EpicBattleFantasy4'', a nude beachgoer at Goldenbrick Resort screams at Lance and calls him a sexist pig for oggling her[[note]]He swears he was not, but he's become a much bigger pervert than he was by ''4'', so he could have been[[/note]]. Averted with the other naked NPC, where no comment is made about his nudity at all.
* ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVI'' has a point where Locke disguises himself as an imperial soldier. This involves getting into a fight with one of them and then using the "steal" command to strip him. Once you do, the soldier's sprite actually changes to a naked guy trying to cover himself, after which he runs away. He does this to a merchant as well. After you steal the clothes, the battle indicator refers to the merchant/soldier as "B. Day Suit" or "Birthday Suit" in later releases.
* In ''VideoGame/FireEmblemFates'', there are certain weapons ''and'' a Personal Skill ([[CuteClumsyGirl Sophie's]]) that [[TheNudifier can cause]] armor ''and'' ClothingDamage. So in certain circumstances, [[http://gayrosh.tumblr.com/post/122493286996/and-here-we-see-a-lobster-without-its-shell the player can end up stripping their enemies naked as they kill or wound them.]]
* ''VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoIVTheBalladOfGayTony'', mission "[[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Caught With Your Pants Down]]". Yusuf Amir tries to explain to his "papa" why there's a hooker in his apartment and he's not wearing any pants (the scene later got adapted into an AutoTune VoiceClipSong, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1KGZsSd2Ok albeit a short one]]):
-->'''Yusuf Amir:''' ...things went a bit crazy and, uh, I somehow lost my pants! Hahaha!\
[...]\
'''Abdul Amir:''' Things do not look good, son.\
'''Yusuf Amir:''' Don't judge a book by its cover, father. That's what you taught me.\
'''Abdul Amir:''' When a book is called guns... drugs... hookers... and ''no pants''... I think I don't need to read it.
* ''VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoViceCity'': In the [[Radio/GTARadio VCPR Radio Station]], one of the segments, about Morality, features among the panelists a rather amoral nudist who always interrupted the arguments to say nudism is always the best solution for everything. He had to stay behind a divider so he wouldn't squick the other ones (a soccer mom and a [[CorruptChurch fundamentalist corrupt televangelist]]), but he disobeys anyway, trying to hug people on more than one occasion. ("Don't be shy, Please! We all got one! That means I'm happy!") By the end of the segment, the televangelist (after delivering a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech about his own amoral ventures) gets fed up with the guy and shoots him the crotch.
-->'''[[OnlySaneMan Maurice Chavez]]:''' ''Dios mío'', you shot him! There's blood ''and pubic hair'' all over the studio!!
* ''VideoGame/KatamariDamacy'': Lalala is simply 'the nudist cousin'. While other cousins are distinguished by their colorful clothes, unique shapes and/or quirky personalities, [[PronounTrouble she's]] just naked. And sunburnt from running around naked all the time.
* ''VideoGame/LakeviewCabin'' and ''VideoGame/LakeviewCabinCollection'' lets your protagonists strip down and walk around completely in the buff.
* The AccidentalPervert moments in ''VideoGame/MegamanLegends''.
* ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid2SonsOfLiberty''. Raiden's attempts to keep modest even though there's nobody (but the player) watching provide some humor in an otherwise disturbing and highly frustrating [[NoGearLevel Warring Without Pants]] level. If he contacts the Colonel, he'll be reminded that he can't enter hanging mode or choke enemies because [[LeaningOnTheFourthWall it could cause "complications"]]. If he is spotted, he can run back to the room where he was shackled, pretend to be such, and any guards who walk in will dismiss the alert and leave, but not before looking at him and remarking "wish I had that..."
* ''VideoGame/MuramasaTheDemonBlade'': Seikichi is a complete ButtMonkey and is the only character who goes into a hot spring without any kind of cover other than his hands.
* ''[[VideoGame/GanbareGoemon Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon]]'' starts with Goemon and Ebisumaru being chased out of a store- with Ebisumaru having stripped to his fundoshi. As he explains to Goemon, Ebisumaru wanted to get a discount and tried a "hypnotic dance".
-->'''Ebisumaru:''' He just couldn't understand the ''beauty'' in...'''me!'''\
'''Goemon:''' You worry me.
* ''VideoGame/NamuAmidaButsuUtena'': [[ShamelessFanserviceGuy Kongōke Bosatsu "Hana"]] is indeed a MrFanservice, but his unhealthy fixation on nudity, obsession with taking off clothing and ''actually stripping'' (in SuperDeformed form) is almost always PlayedForLaughs.
* ''VideoGame/NeverwinterNights: Hordes of the Underdark'' contained a dungeon where your character's clothes are stolen by a Mimic, which might leave you with no replacement gear if you only carry one suit of armor. [[ThePaladin Aribeth]] finds the whole thing quite amusing.
* ''VideoGame/RealityOnTheNorm'': Guido, a nudist who is an eternal embarrassment to his brother, but thankfully usually stays at home (though apparently, he helps his brother in his restaurant. While wearing no clothes, yes).
* ''VideoGame/SaintsRow'':
** The main series from ''VideoGame/SaintsRow2'' onwards gives the player the option of removing all of the player character's clothing, complete with {{Pixellation}}. You can then play a streaking minigame with the goal of disgusting as many people as possible. The fact that it keeps score for this adds to the game's RefugeInAudacity tendencies.
** Both ''VideoGame/SaintsRowTheThird'' and ''VideoGame/SaintsRowIV'' include sequences where the player character is forced to fight naked. A few [=NPCs=] get the same treatment.
* In ''VideoGame/TheSims'', a Sim who happens to catch sight of (or even just be in the same room as) a nude Sim will react with a startled scream, even if those two Sims just [[UnusualEuphemism Woohooed]].
* ''VideoGame/SilentHill3'': Konami Code + This Trope = [[spoiler:Douglas wearing only boxers 'neath his trenchcoat]].
* This is the joke of the "Quest for Dignity" encounter in ''VideoGame/SunlessSea'', in which the Monkey Foundling steals your zee-captain's clothes in the Empire of Hands. When you eventually return to your ship with a single sock to your name, the amusement this provides your crew actually causes Terror to drop several points.
* The ''VideoGame/TeamFortress2'' storyline comics have the Soldier frequently fight naked and covered in honey as part of the character's [[CloudCuckoolander generally odd approach to the world]]. He doesn't fit the hippie elements of the trope, though, being more of a HeroicComedicSociopath with strong {{Eagleland}} beliefs and several years of lead poisoning and head injuries ([[AxCrazy not that he was doing too well before those]]).
-->'''Heavy:''' (nonchalantly) Soldier, put pants on.
* One of the comical illnesses in ''VideoGame/TwoPointHospital'' is "[[Literature/TheEmperorsNewClothes Emperor Complex]]", where patients blithely stroll around the hospital stark naked, believing themselves to be wearing the latest fashions. They even jiggle, stretch and bend over a lot, just to make everyone watching all the more uncomfortable.
* ''VideoGame/TheSims'': the second through fourth installments of the series all allow, as long as certain expansion paxks are installed, a sim to streak, much to chagrin of surrounding sims. ''Sims 4'' even has an option to dare someone to streak.
* ''VideoGame/VocaloidNoNatsuyasumiFinalFourDays'': In one of the early major story branches of the game, Kaito, as his alter ego "Bakaito" (Idiot Kaito), causing ruckus in the town whilst wearing nothing but his scarf, which earning him a MegatonPunch from Meiko.
* The kid from ''{{VideoGame/Grow}} Maze'' will burn his underwear (which is his only clothes) after trying to ride a dog made of fire. He stay naked until the end of the game but by that moment you only see him from the back.

* ''WebAnimation/EtraChanSawIt'':
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6uON3eVxuY A naked Akamatsu]] jumps from a window of an apartment to hide from his lover's husband, he accidentally lands on Yuri, causing her to be rushed into a hospital.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5jRhJZen4E Kuroki]] caught his neighbor [[spoiler:Hiiragi, who was trying to steal his underwear after coming out from his bathroom, prompting an awkward conversation when the police come with Hiiragi still being naked.]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2j_BosuyF90 Hiiragi]] stalks and shows his naked body to Akane, much to her horror.
* ''Webcomic/GarnetAndGure'': [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZfEXpRXMtg This cartoon short]] showcases the production of a charity nudie-calendar, which is disrupted by a fairly repulsive character who insists that he is to pose alongside one of the ladies.
* The title character of ''WebAnimation/HomestarRunner'' is frequently depicted as comically-naked (complete with {{pixellation}}) when he takes his shirt off. In "Homestar Presents: Presents", Homestar is in such a rush to get his [[YouMeanXmas Decemberween]] shopping done [[RidiculousProcrastinator at the very, VERY last minute]] he runs out of the house "naked, somehow" despite having been wearing a shirt in the previous scene.
* ''WebAnimation/IsabelleRuinsEverything'': Isabelle finished constructing the statue commissioned by the Mayor, but he's unsettled by the fact that it features a naked statue of him.
* At one point in ''WebAnimation/RedVsBlue'' episode "Previously On...", Grif seemingly found Donut dead, so he, Tucker, and Simmons buried him in a shallow, unmarked grave. Then it turned out that Donut just went skinny dipping, and since his armor was gone, decided to go "''Au natural''" Thankfully, Donut's nudity was entirely off-screen.
-->'''Jax Jonez:''' Why is he naked?\
'''Dylan Andrews:''' ''That's'' your first question?
* in ''WebAnimation/TomorrowsNobodies'', this is the entire point of Tito, a large naked black man who rarely serves any purpose beyond being, well... naked.

* [[https://www.deviantart.com/pippinumpkin/art/Idk-789171450 This]] comic features [[VideoGame/LittleBigPlanet3 Newton]] encountering some girl and Oodsock. However, when Oodsock [[GoneSwimmingClothesStolen steals his coat and his pants]], we see a shot of Newton Pud without his pants on [[JokeOfTheButt and emphasis on his buttocks]] until he puts them back on.
* A common punchline in ''Webcomic/ApricotCookies'' is for Apricot to wind up naked, typically when she tries and fails to transform.
* ''Webcomic/{{Ayuri}}'' has dobeks, a domesticated species of non-sapient humanoid. Like most pets, they wear a collar at most, making some humans uncomfortable.
* ''Webcomic/TheBarePit'' ({{NSFW}} if your workplace objects to naked people, otherwise pretty wholesome), originally titled ''Loxie and Zoot'', is an Australian webcomic that takes place at a nudist resort, now celebrating 10 years of online publication. Completely subverts the majority of the trope, although some of the more obvious storylines (a pervert with a camera, a prude trying to harass the resort, etc.) are still used. The comic's creator even added his own Naked People Are Funny plot in its [[http://web.archive.org/web/20150503101806/http://webcomicsnation.com/thebarepit/thebarepit/series.php?view=single&ID=95066 longest storyline]] -- or rather, about six of them: A bump to the head causes Loxie's mother (a rather prudish, intolerant woman) to decide to join in. Because her daughter and son-in-law both know full well that once she comes to her senses she will regret it, they do their best to keep her dressed and hidden (and are failing miserably). Right afterwards, Loxie's prudish sister gets stuck at the resort, and upon falling asleep, goes sleepwalking (naked, of course). Loxie's nephews are using their mother's nap to sneak around trying to peep (and are failing miserably). Loxie's niece was suckered by another girl into going naked by wearing a wig to hide her identity (and is failing miserably). Loxie's father and brother in law are sneaking off to fish during all this (and are failing miserably). They most recently lost a "you gotta stay naked" vs "you gotta stay clothed" bet with some regulars, and are currently trying to evade a pissed-off emu who isn't happy that they bailed out after losing (and are failing miserably). ''phew''. At last count, that makes five or six storylines going on all at once, all destined to fail at the exact same time, Benny Hill-style.
* ''Webcomic/DemonEater'' plays with it. Demons don't reproduce with sexual organs, but there is a group that wants to be like humans. They don't quite get the appearance right, with one of them being an anatomically correct male but without skin, while another is an anatomically correct albino female... without a head.
* ''Webcomic/DominicDeegan''
** While the comic has an country of oft-times nude werewolves, they are not this trope. No, that would be [[http://www.dominic-deegan.com/view.php?date=2008-05-29 Brian]], the fat guy who likes to do his stretches at the cruise ship's pool. Naked.
** The sequel arc, ''The Legacy of Dominic Deegan'', doesn't use nudity for comedy very often.[[note]]The author, Michael Terracchiano, has stated he finds it absurd that art either has to be ''about'' nudity or obscure it to be taken seriously.[[/note]] The main character, Snout, [[HomeNudist often gets naked at home,]] [[SleepsInTheNude especially before bed]]. The one time it's used for comedy is when he forgets that he's (platonically) sharing a bed with a woman, and got undressed out of habit. Which gets even more awkwardly funny when she gets undressed in her sleep and uses his shoulder as a pillow.[[note]]They had been naked together before while she taught him ink magic, with her clothing being the main source of ink for them to work with and him playing fair by getting undressed too. The humor seems to be because of the awkwardness of the situation caused by being naked, rather than the nudity itself.[[/note]]
* When lovable megalomaniac and ''Webcomic/FriendlyHostility'' star Collin needs to take a break from his stressful life, he takes boyfriend, slave, and fridge-dwelling demon to the beach. Still unable to relax, Collin strips nude...on a non-nude beach. Those poor nuns...
* It's a bit of a RunningGag in ''Webcomic/TheInexplicableAdventuresOfBob'' that, as a [[CuteMonsterGirl furry monster,]] Molly gets to parade around completely naked. Her sister Golly, on the other hand, likes clothing.
* Inverted in the ''Webcomic/{{Insecticomics}}'': Because Transformers are ordinarily nude, there is humor value in putting them in clothing.
* Played straight in ''Webcomic/IWasKidnappedByLesbianPiratesFromOuterSpace'' when the captain identifies a birthmark on their new guest. Responses included asking a naked lesbian how she managed to check another woman for birthmarks. She insists it's not important.
* In ''Webcomic/TheOrderOfTheStick'', {{Cloudcuckoolander}} Elan's interpretation of ''D&D''[='s=] armor check penalty rules is as follows: If heavy armor makes it harder for you to be stealthy, being naked must make you [[http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0025.html invisible.]] To a point, he's right: The men don't want to look at him, and the women are... [[DistractedByTheSexy distracted]] by his [[GagPenis "18 charisma"]].
* In ''Webcomic/ThePetriDish'', Gwog the alien doesn't mind wandering around naked, which Thaddeus is skeeved out by.
* In ''Webcomic/PrezleekComics'', Prez is occasionally deprived of his clothes (boss uses a 'remove equipment' attack too often, armor degrades to dust, accidentally tells a banker to 'remove all equipment', so on). Sometimes his GoofyPrintUnderwear remains, and sometimes he's forced to cover himself with whatever's on hand.
* Zach Weiner, the author of ''Webcomic/SaturdayMorningBreakfastCereal'', is always naked. ''[[http://www.survivingtheworld.net/GuestLecture9.html Always.]]''
* ''Webcomic/SluggyFreelance'':
** An early gag pointed out the problem with nudist camps is lack of quality control.
** Oasis, perhaps as part of being a parody (also [[DeconstructedTrope deconstruction]]) of some anime stereotypes, doesn't seem too concerned about going around naked. The chapter (and later book) introducing her is titled "Game Called on Account of Naked Chick."
** Zoë gets accidentally cursed to turn into a camel whenever a certain word is said. Most of the time, she does not have MagicPants.
** Once when summoning drunk, Gwynn slurs her lines and invokes "dud-muncher eat-clothes moths" instead of "Dreadmaster Econoth". Hilarity ensues, but at least Torg finds a use for his [[NoodleImplements emergency pants]].
** In "[[FillerStrip Stick Figures]] [[RecycledInSpace in Spaaaaaace]] 2", it's revealed that the not only the male but also the female stick-figures have been topless the whole time until some aliens made them put on shirts. Torg curses being a stick-figure since he (like the audience) never noticed.
** Aylee the shape-changing alien was used to going around without clothes because NonhumansLackAttributes, but when she adopted a form where under her dress-like wrapped wings, she had "human female naughty parts"... well, you can guess.
* Chop Chop Ninja Doom from ''Webcomic/{{Springiette}}'' enjoys nakedness a lot, although she has trouble understanding when's the right time for it [[http://www.springiette.net/strips/96]].
* In ''Webcomic/SpyingWithLana'', Lana is funny while naked ''if'' you're not her target. If you are, it's better to prepare yourself for a tough fight.
* Quentyn, hero of ''Webcomic/TalesOfTheQuestor'' has some problems keeping his pants on, either having pursuers [[StrippingSnag grab at his clothing]] or needing to change clothing in a hurry. The humor comes less from [[HalfDressedCartoonAnimal the nudity itself]], as it is to various reactions to the matter by the KidHero, who's a bit modest around women. The concept is essentially distilled by the time he goes to human territories, where [[GenderBlenderName Sam(antha)]] warns Quentyn [[NoPeekingRequest against peeking]] while she [[OutdoorBathPeeping showers in a nearby bush]], even though [[HumansThroughAlienEyes she's about as interesting as a naked rat to Quentyn]]. Likewise, Quentyn [[NakedFreakOut starts to panic]] when [[InterruptedBath his bath is interrupted]] by a female maidservant, yet she doesn't think anything of looking at him.
* Wil of ''Webcomic/QuestionableContent'' goes on a vision quest and runs into a guy from a nearby senior nudist colony, at first mistaking him for his "spirit animal". When he relays this story to the members of the reservation, they dub him "Wil Talks-to-Dongs". Also Dora and Tai's "[[http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=2304 detour]]".
* A minor lawyer character in ''Webcomic/{{Unshelved}}'' is a nudist. His idea of a Halloween costume is to put on clothing. He is a good example of the "Right-to-Nuder" subtype, as he spends all day at the library arguing about his First Amendment rights. Or maybe not -- he shows up in one storyline wearing a full suit and tie: that is, the storyline ''in the nudist colony''.
* ''WebComic/WhenIWokeUpIBecameABagelGirl'': When Bong Gi first wakes up in his female body, he assumes it's AllJustADream and—hearing of an internet story he assumed to be similar to his current situation—decides to run outside naked in hopes of enjoying the moment before "waking up". One guy sees her and drops his friend's 75K Won phone upon seeing her (we readers don't get to, though), pissing off the friend before being placated at the sight of her and says it's WorthIt. Naturally, she gets arrested, covered up, and she realizes ThatWasNotADream.

[[folder:Web Original]]
* Extensively referenced and subverted in the Cheeky Moon comedy sketch [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_ccIbiySMc Nudie Moonies]]. A [[ShowerOfAwkward Shower of Awkward]] situation between a man and woman is [[WhatCouldPossiblyGoWrong excessively foreshadowed]] with a [[OverlyPrepreparedGag comically convoluted setup]]. (Getting both characters naked requires not only [[StrangeMindsThinkAlike strange minds to think alike]], but also prolonged [[SpeakInUnison speaking in unison]].) The ensuing [[NakedFreakOut Naked Freak-Out]] is immediately normalised, resulting in an instantaneous and mutual [[InnocentFanserviceGirl dropping of the nudity taboo]] - itself derailed with fourth-wall-breaking acknowledgment/shedding of the actors' [[NudeColoredClothes fake modesty layers]].
* During one of WebVideo/{{Failboat}}'s ''VideoGame/AnimalCrossingNewHorizons'' [[https://youtu.be/lYfkl4iJ1PY streams]], Fail accidently runs into a [[GoodBadBugs glitch]] where all the villagers wearing his custom clothing appear '''butt naked'''. Things ramp up even more when he has to take pictures of them both in and outside of the building, and when he invites them to the end of the game dance party (yep, they're dancing on the beach fully nude). At one point, Fail muses that if he put a naked character with a censor bar in the thumbnail, it would get ten times the average views. He then decides ''to do just that'' with Shino.
* Website/GaiaOnline's Gino Gambino gets possessed by a god with no nudity taboo during the Demonbusters event. Said god promptly [[LargeHam hams it up]] with lines like "FEELS GOOD, MAN!" and goofy poses. Since Gino straddles the line between {{Bishounen}} and malnourished, this may double as FanService or FanDisservice.
** Oddly enough, the Overseer in his own shape wears clothes.
* When Malinda Kathleen Reese of WebVideo/GoogleTranslateSings translated the Music/ShawnMendes song "Stitches", the line "Now that I'm without your kisses" became "Now I have no clothes", resulting in a naked Malinda.
** It happened again when she translated "When Will My Life Begin?" from ''WesternAnimation/{{Tangled}}''. The line "Sew a dress!" became "Avoid clothes!". And again when the line "All of the nights I don't remember when you're 'round me" from the Jonas Brothers' "Sucker" became "At night in the kitchen there is no clothes". Google's algorithm seems determined to get Malinda to take her clothes off.
* The video producers [[https://www.youtube.com/user/NotebookMovies/videos Notebook Entertainment]]'s series ''Tales from [=FMyLife=]'' started out as short videos illustrating everyday examples of embarrassment or frustration, but slowly devolved into an exhaustive exploration of this trope: a girl goes into a shower only to find that her little brother's best friend is playing hide and seek in there; a girl is invited by a fellow student for a study night and, assuming that he doesn't really want to study, she shows up in a coat and nothing else, which she removes only to find that he just wants to study, etc.
* WebVideo/{{Retsupurae}}'s "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zq6tPZiOdNg Kane and Lynch's Spring Break]]" begins as a [[{{MST}} riff]] on a heavily-accented player doing a LetsPlay of ''VideoGame/KaneAndLynch 2: Dog Days''. The level shown involves naked men, covered in blood, running through Shanghai fighting policemen and ''winning.'' It gets so ridiculous that the hosts start riffing on the game instead.
* Repeatedly PlayedForLaughs by Mario in WebAnimation/Supermarioglitchy4sSuperMario64Bloopers.
* Naked people doing stupid things is one of Nash and Tara's [[RunningGag "wheelhouses"]] on ''WebVideo/WhatTheFuckIsWrongWithYou".
* WebVideo/WipeoutRoblox: Taylor makes a lot of jokes about how Okami was not wearing pants.
* In the eighth episode of WebVideo/SuperMega's ''VideoGame/AnimalCrossingNewHorizons'' series, titled "Ryan's Special Episode", the whole point of Ryan being naked during recording is that it's funny. Matt has a hard time adjusting to the unexpected naked man in the room with him, but that just makes it more funny.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Real Life]]
* There exists [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sq89kNQLZ1I a police video]] wherein two drunk women pulled over by the police proceed to strip naked and play in some nearby sprinklers. Jay Leno later ran it on ''Series/TheTonightShow'', where it was played for laughs.
* In Creator/AlisonBrie's college years at the California Institute of Arts, she would cheer up her roommate by pretending to take a shower, go to the tree out their window and swing on a branch naked like a monkey.
* One of Creator/SpikeMilligan's favorite pranks was to turn up at the door of a friend's flat or house nude and say: "Do you know the address of a good tailor?" He claimed in ''Literature/AdolfHitlerMyPartInHisDownfall'' that this originated with one of his comrades in the artillery (the man's alternative punchline was "Gentlemen, I believe there is a thief in the battery!")
* The Fremont Solstice Parade in UsefulNotes/{{Seattle}} has a tradition of people biking the parade route wearing nothing but bike helmets (safety first!) and a smile. Some of them use body paint in creative ways to evoke {{Cosplay}} or paint humorous political slogans on their backs (or elsewhere). The police used to try and arrest people for doing this, but so many were going for it (and it became such a tradition) that SPD no longer bothers.
* Tetsuya Iwanaga [[https://youtu.be/hm27jjb4m5k?t=112 has shared a story]] [[note]]turn on the subtitles when watching the video[[/note]] of the difficulties behind the filming of his [[LensFlareCensor technically]] naked scene in [[Series/KamenRiderExAid Another Ending: Genm Vs. Lazer]]. First, when he was crossing a residential area on the way to the movie set wearing very close to nothing, he met an old woman walking her dog, who barked at him. Then, when he was stepping over a chain fence and got hit in the crotch, so a production crew member had to hold the fence down for him.
* ''Film/StarshipTroopers'': When shooting the co-ed shower scene, Creator/PaulVerhoeven couldn't get the actors to do the scene as he wanted it since they were all too busy trying to hide their naughty bits from the camera and each other. So Verhoeven went "fucking Americans!" and stripped to the buff. The sight of a 60-year-old naked Dutchman directing the scene without a care in the world was enough to completely kill any drama from the situation, and the scene could be shot as seen in the film.
* The film ''Film/MyNameIsEmily'' features a scene where a hundred naked people run into the ocean - which is only barely related to the plot (the title character's father was a motivational writer and convinced others to do this). A hundred extras turned up to do the scene for free, and the movie's star Creator/EvannaLynch took a selfie of them as they were about to run into the sea.
* Due to colonization, UsefulNotes/{{Peru}}'s Incan language (Quechua) has been replaced for the majority in the country for Spanish. But the Quechua word for nakedness, q’ala (transcribed in Spanish as calato), has muted from a common word to a beloved slang among the people and maybe this trope is the reason why.
* When Harpo Marx of the Creator/MarxBrothers was living in California in the 1930s, he was hanging out by the pool at San Simeon, the ranch of William Randolph Hearst, with his friend Charlie Lederer, a screenwriter (''Film/HisGirlFriday'', among other things), and they were reminiscing about how they used to spend summers at the Vermont holiday island of their mutual friend, the theatre critic Alexander Woolcott, who Harpo hadn't seen for a couple of years. They decided to pay Woolcott a surprise visit and scare him, so they borrowed a limousine, drove to San Francisco airport, flew three hours to New York, chartered a seaplane, flew to Lake Champlain, hired a driver, drove to the nearest town to the island, rented a boat, and rowed to the island. Then they snuck through the undergrowth to Woolcott's croquet court, where he was playing a match with some of their other friends. Harpo and Lederer took off their clothes and burst out of the bushes, whooping and yelling. Woolcott [[UnusuallyUninterestingSight glanced at them, then turned back to the game]] and instructed someone else that it was their turn to take a shot. Harpo and Lederer went back into the bushes, got dressed, rowed back to the dock, were driven back to the town, took the waiting seaplane back to New York, and flew back to San Francisco, where the limousine drove them back to San Simeon. They stretched out by the pool and casually agreed that Woolcott was looking well, and then tried to think of something else to do.
* It took quite a while for [[UsefulNotes/TheBritishRoyalFamily Prince Harry]] to live down the embarrassment when pictures of him cavorting naked in a Las Vegas hotel suite were published (he'd been playing strip billiards).
