FanArt is a common and understandable pastime. But drawing a fictional character dressed as another fictional character? This is actually common too. See ImageLinks/CosplayFanArt.

This is a SubTrope where characters will frequently cosplay for Halloween rather than buying or making generic costumes. The characters commonly appear on a single panel, which usually occurs out of continuity and can happen even if the characters come from a setting without a [[UsefulNotes/AllHallowsEve Halloween]] holiday. The characters can all cosplay to a single medium and/or cosplay as characters that inspired/influenced their own design.

[[folder:Anime & Manga]]
* During a {{festival|Episode}} in the anime film ''Anime/OtakuNoVideo'', the members of the anime club show up dressed as characters from other anime.
* ''Manga/SayonaraZetsubouSensei'' had a segment about this.

[[folder:Comic Strips]]
* One ComicStrip/{{Foxtrot}} strip (which can be seen [[http://www.gocomics.com/foxtrot/2004/10/31 here]]) showed Eileen, Eugene, Phobe, Marcus, and Jason as [[Franchise/TheIncredibles Violet]], [[Series/StarTrekTheOriginalSeries Spock]], [[ComicStrip/CalvinAndHobbes Hobbes]], VideoGame/MegaManX, and [[Franchise/StarWars Jabba the Hutt]], respectively.
* ''ComicStrip/{{Nancy}}'' had [[https://www.gocomics.com/nancy/2019/10/27 a 2019 strip]] in which Nancy and her friends cosplay as [[Anime/KikisDeliveryService Kiki, Jiji]], [[Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda Link]], Music/{{Prince}}, and [[WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse Garnet]].

[[folder:Fan Works]]
* Raised to a genre all its own in ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'' FanFic. The [[Recap/BuffyTheVampireSlayerS2E6Halloween second season]] HalloweenEpisode featured a spell transforming everyone who got their costume at [[TheLittleShopThatWasntThereYesterday Ethan Rayne's store]] [[BecomingTheCostume into whatever they dressed as]]; Xander became a BadassNormal soldier, Willow died and became a ghost (having worn a BedsheetGhost costume), and Buffy, who dressed as an 18th century princess, became a DamselInDistress. (Only Cordelia remained normal, having purchased her {{catgirl}} costume from a chain store.) A whole legion of fics, known to the fandom as [[FandomSpecificPlot "Yet Another Halloween Fics"]] (or simply [=YAHFs=]), take a variation of the episode as their jumping-off point, with the characters (particularly Xander) each selecting the costumes of trademarked characters from Ethan's store. Chaos inevitably ensues.
* The ''Sonic the Hedgehog'' blog ''Blog/SingleParentsNight'' has series of Halloween 2018 art featuring the characters cosplay. For example, the blonde and blue-eyed Maria dresses up as {{Alice|Allusion}}.
* The Halloween 2019 art for ''Blog/{{Solarhood}}'' depicts Elise and Sonic as Ariel and Eric from ''The Little Mermaid''.
* An ''Fanfic/EmpathTheLuckiestSmurf'' mini-story has Empath and Smurfette dress up as Hero and Wonder from the ''Fanfic/HeroTheGuardianSmurf'' series.
* ''Fanfic/PeekingThroughTheFourthWall'': all [[WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse the Loud siblings]] dress up as famous figures or characters for Halloween: Lori is Creator/MarilynMonroe, Leni is UsefulNotes/CocoChanel, Luna is Music/JoanJett, Luan is Creator/LucilleBall, Lynn is [[ComicBook/TheIncredibleHulk She-Hulk]], Lucy is [[Film/TheRing Samara Morgan]], Lana is Rosie the Riveter, Lola is [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Princess Peach]], Lisa is [[Franchise/StarWars Yoda]], Lily is an [[Literature/CharlieAndTheChocolateFactory Oompa-Loompa]], and Lincoln is ComicBook/{{Shazam}}.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Live-Action TV]]
* ''Series/AbbottElementary'': In "Candy Zombies" the students and teachers are dressed up for Halloween at Abbott. Several costumes reference Creator/MarvelComics characters.
** Ava is dressed as Ororo Munroe/Storm, complete with white irises.
** Melissa is dressed up like Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. Ashley is dressed obviously trying to ''emulate'' Wanda, but her costume doesn't match at all, to Melissa's annoyance.
** The "villain" is a male student dressed up as the Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse version of Thanos. The teachers call him "Baby Thanos". Several overt references to the character are made:
*** He wears candy ring pops to emulate the Infinity Stones.
*** He says "I am inedible" ("I am inevitable"), and when a kid asks him, "What did it cost?" He replies, "Everything."
*** When Baby Thanos pulls round yellow thing resembling a Mind Stone off Mr. Johnson's forehead (who Jacob had mistaken for Vision earlier), Melissa (dressed as Wanda) reaches out with an outstretched arm and shouts, "[[BigNo Nooooooo]]!"
* In the ''Series/{{Castle|2009}}'' Halloween episode "Vampire Weekend," the title character, played by Creator/NathanFillion, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Q3pdj9p6yI steps back]] into one of his actor's [[{{Series/Firefly}} old roles]] [[ActorAllusion for Halloween]].
* In ''Series/TheBigBangTheory'', the main group, plus Penny's then-current boyfriend Zach, dress up as the [[ComicBook/JusticeLeagueOfAmerica Justice League]] for a costume contest.
* ''Series/{{Frasier}}'':
** In "Halloween," Niles hosts a costume party where each guest must arrive dressed as a famous literary character. Niles himself is dressed as Theatre/CyranoDeBergerac, Martin is Literature/SherlockHolmes, Frasier and Daphne are dressed as Creator/GeoffreyChaucer and [[Literature/TheCanterburyTales the Wife of Bath]], respectively, Roz is [[Literature/TheStoryOfO O]], Bulldog is [[Literature/WheresWaldo Waldo]], Gil is Literature/TheLastOfTheMohicans, Frasier chats up an unnamed female guest dressed as [[Literature/TheBible Eve]] (and she eventually leaves with a man dressed as {{Satan}}), and a guest with dwarfism is mistaken for a trick-or-treater at the door because he's dressed as Literature/{{Frankenstein}}'s monster… and the little girl dressed as Literature/{{Alice|in Wonderland}} next to him really ''is'' a trick-or-treater.
** In "Room Full of Heroes", Frasier hosts a Halloween party where guests are to come dressed as — and acting like — their personal heroes. Frasier is UsefulNotes/SigmundFreud, Niles is Martin, Martin himself is [[https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_DiMaggio Joe DiMaggio]], Daphne is Music/EltonJohn, Roz is ComicBook/WonderWoman.
* ''Series/{{NCIS}}'':
** In one Halloween episode, Abby dresses as Creator/MarilynMonroe. Tony and [=McGee=] are stunned speechless.
** In a later Halloween episode, Abby mentions that Vance banned costumes after "last year's Music/JonasBrothers [[NoodleIncident debacle]]".
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Pro Wrestling]]
* Thunderkitty often wears leopard/cheetah print singlets, unsurprisingly but at New Era Wrestling in October of 2012, her nemesis Cameron Star dressed as Wonder Woman. Since Star was a {{heel}} and Thunderkitty was a baby {{face}}, the result probably looked backwards to comic book/cartoon fans. A good deal of other wrestlers were in costume too though(Star's partner Damian Cole was some other stars and stripes themed DC character), including some as referees, as if they weren't {{easily distracted|referee}} enough.
* In 2016, Wrestling/DaltonCastle did double duty of promoting shop Wrestling/{{R|ingOfHonor}}OH and saying happy Halloween by dressing in Briscoe Brother merchandise and doing his best impression of Dem Boys. In response to this, Mark Briscoe grabbed a peacock mask normally worn by ''The'' Boys who usually follow Castle around.[[/folder]]

[[folder:Video Games]]
* Used as DownloadableContent in the original ''VideoGame/SonicAdventure2'', but not its Platform/NintendoGameCube remake.
* In the [[WesternAnimation/TheNightmareBeforeChristmas Halloween Town]] levels of ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'', Sora gets a unique, vampire-themed costume complete with CuteLittleFangs.
* Halloween Mode in ''VideoGame/TeamFortress2'' allows the use of exclusive items only available during full moon nights and, well, Halloween.
* The ''VideoGame/DeadOrAlive'' franchise usually gives new DownloadableContent for Halloween. Obviously, a lot of it is {{Stripperiffic}} / SexyWhateverOutfit.
* Reaper, Ana, Soldier: 76, Mercy, Junkrat, Roadhog, Symmetra, Pharah, Zenyatta, Reinhardt, and Bastion all get in the Halloween spirit with their skins during the Halloween ''VideoGame/{{Overwatch}}'' update.
** Additionally, the [[HalloweenEpisode Halloween Comic]] features a few of the game's cast at a Halloween Party (presumably at Watchpoint: Gibraltar or another Overwatch base). In it, Reaper, Mercy, Junkrat, and Roadhog wear the costumes featured in their in-game skins (the Headless Horseman, a [[HotWitch witch]], [[Franchise/{{Frankenstein}} Dr. "Junkenstein"]], and Junkenstein's monster, respectively), and Cassidy/[=McCree=] dressed as Film/VanHelsing, Ana as a pirate, and Torbjorn as a viking. Interestingly, Soldier: 76 and Reinhardt's costumes in the comic are different from their in game skins (the former as UsefulNotes/EvelKnievel (which, coincidentally, is identical to his Daredevil: 76 skin), and the latter getting two costumes: a Naval Captain at the party, and the king of the castle in the story he tells).
* ''VideoGame/CaveStory+'''s [[HolidayMode Halloween Mode]] is ''filled to the brim'' with references. Sue dresses as [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Princess Peach]], Kazuma dresses as [[Franchise/FridayThe13th Jason Voorhees]], Curly dresses as [[Franchise/{{Metroid}} Samus Aran]], Kanpachi dresses [[Franchise/StarWars Darth Vader]], Misery is dressed like [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Morrigan]], Sue ''also'' gets a look based on Felicia [[spoiler:during the Undead Core fight]], the Doctor is dressed like Dracula, and... King is dressed like [[ComicBook/VForVendetta V]], even though it makes him look [[TheComicallySerious utterly silly]]. Furthermore, the grassland jellies are a dead ringer for Metroids, the ghost-like enemies in the same area look like [[VideoGame/FinalFantasy Cactaurs]], the roaches in the Labyrinth are also dead-ringers for Xenomorphs (even the eggs), and the big bugs in the Egg Corridor are dressed like [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Kamina]]. [[spoiler:Ballos' first form is also pretty much [[VideoGame/GhostsNGoblins Astaroth]]]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Web Animation]]
* A staple of ''WebAnimation/HomestarRunner'' Halloween toons is the main cast dressing up as various fictional characters and celebrities, with their costumes [[HalloweenCostumeCharacterization typically reflecting the characters' own personalities in some way]]. Homestar, being TheDitz that he is, [[RecognitionFailure always fails to recognize the others' costumes]].
-->'''Homestar:''' Hey, Stwong Bad. I weally like youw costume. [[Series/MontyPythonsFlyingCircus The Spanish Inquisition?]] That's gweat!\
'''Strong Bad:''' Look, for the last time, I'm not the Spanish Inquisition, I'm not Cab Calloway, and I'm not Strong Bad wearing a yellow turtleneck! '''''I'M [[Franchise/CarmenSandiego CARMEN FREAKING SANDIEGO!!!!]]'''''\
'''Marzipan:''' I like Cab Calloway...
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Web Comics]]
* ''Webcomic/TheChapelChronicles'' has a special [[http://www.chapelchronicles.com/comic/35 Halloween strip,]] Chapel tried on a Gorgeous Period Dress, the [[TimeMachine Tardis]] from Series/DoctorWho, finally deciding to wear the outfit of Manga/CardcaptorSakura with her hedgehog dressed as Kero-chan.
* ''Webcomic/RPGWorld'' is widely acknowledged as one of the originators of this trope.
* In ''Webcomic/{{Narbonic}}'', one of the characters cosplayed as a different character from ''Narbonic'' itself.
* Seems to be something of a ritual among the 'adults' in the first part of ''Webcomic/CogaSuro'', to the point that they all seem to do it even without conferring with one another.
* Tom Siddell has drawn ''Webcomic/GunnerkriggCourt'' Halloween pictures, with Annie and Kat dressed as characters from ''[[Creator/WilliamShakespeare Titus Andronicus]]'', ''Film/TheCityOfLostChildren'', ''VideoGame/{{Psychonauts}}'', and ''VideoGame/{{ICO}}''.
* In ''Webcomic/BobAndGeorge'', the characters would frequently dress up as other videogame characters. Interestingly, sometimes events from the Halloween party strips (and from other holidays) would affect the main Bob and George continuity, and sometimes they didn't. There was also a RunningGag involving the Author, as he would dress up as a character nobody else would recognize (like Q or the Spectre).
* ''Webcomic/CinemaBums'' has the main cast dress as [[Franchise/BillAndTed Bill S. Preson Esq]], [[CallBack an anthropomorphic personification of the alienating effects of modernization]] and a {{Steampunk}} version of [[Film/RaidersOfTheLostArk Marion Ravenwood]] in [[http://www.cinemabums.com/?p=163 this]] strip.
* ''Webcomic/CityOfTrees'': In October 2018, several ''City of Trees'' updates included sketches of characters dressed in Halloween costumes. Most notably, the characters Malik and Emil were dressed as the Beast and a genderbent Belle from ''WesternAnimation/BeautyAndTheBeast''.
* ''Webcomic/ExterminatusNow'' does this every Halloween, though they subverted it one year by having trick-or-treaters in various popculture costumes and the four main characters doing nothing special. Previous years have seen them do characters from ''Webcomic/EightBitTheater'' and various comic books.
** This year's had four trick-or-treaters dress up as the main characters.
* ''[[Webcomic/DanAndMabsFurryAdventures DMFA]]'' had a New Look Montage where Abel has Dan and himself dressed up as characters from various SF/Fantasy series. [[http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_513.php One]], [[http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_514.php Two]], [[http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_515.php three]], [[http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_516.php Four]] and [[http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_517.php Five]]
* ''Webcomic/M9Girls'' did this for a Halloween ring, with the main cast dressed in [[http://m9girls.com/webcomic/en/2013/10/30/happy-halloween/ high school uniforms]] cosplaying as the cast from ''Webcomic/DoodlingAround''.
** ...with the female cast of ''Webcomic/VaticanAssassins donning the M9 Girls' [[http://www.vaticanassassinscomic.com/vatican-assassins/the-fantastic-v-9-girls-halloween-2013/ super-heroine costumes]] for the same event.
** ... and Clau did a cute cosplay for [[http://m9girls.com/webcomic/en/2014/10/30/happy-halloween-2014/ trick-or-treating]] next year.
* ''Webcomic/MacHall'' had a strip where the cast dressed as characters from other webcomics. Helen, who is dressed as Cherry from RPG World, comments that she has no idea what's going on; her boyfriend Micah tells her not to worry, since she's still in-character.
* ''Kismetropolis'' characters dressed as the cast of Michael Jackson's ''Thriller'' for Halloween once.
* ''Webcomic/{{Adventurers}}!'' every Halloween. Most disturbingly, '''Killer Evil Death Spybot 5000''' was dressed up as a ''Franchise/FinalFantasy'' '''white mage'''. Yeah...
* ''Webcomic/{{Megatokyo}}'', [[http://www.megatokyo.com/strip/188 here]], as well as various costumes worn by Erika and Piro in their function as employees at the store.
* Dominic and Luna (and sometimes a few other characters) from ''Webcomic/DominicDeegan'' dress up as [[http://www.dominic-deegan.com/view.php?date=2003-10-31 characters from other comics]], or [[http://www.dominic-deegan.com/view.php?date=2005-10-31 other characters from their own comic.]]
* ''Webcomic/SomethingPositive'', numerous times, most recently when Davan dressed up his not-son as dead Comicbook/{{Robin}} Jason Todd with [[http://www.somethingpositive.net/sp10082008.shtml the crowbar still attached.]]
* The comic ''[[http://www.jaydenandcrusader.com/2008/10/31/j-c-halloween-08/ Jayden and Crusader]]'' has taken up this trope, although originally used more generic costumes.
** That is until [[http://www.jaydenandcrusader.com/2009/10/31/jc-halloween-09/ this year]] when ''two'' characters come dressed in Trek uniforms...
* ''Webcomic/ElGoonishShive'' does this [[http://www.egscomics.com/sketchbook/?date=2002-10-27 here]] and [[http://www.egscomics.com/sketchbook/?date=2002-11-03 here]] (2002 2-parter) and [[http://www.egscomics.com/sketchbook/?date=2003-10-31 here]] (2003). Both Elliot and [[OppositeSexClone Ellen]] dressing as Saotome Ranma is particularly fitting.
* ''Webcomic/OkashinaOkashi'' does this every year, with decently wide variation in how well-known the characters are.
* ''Webcomic/AnsemRetort'' did this. Axel costumed himself as Zexion. Zexion costumed himself as Axel cosplaying Vash the Stampede.
* ''Webcomic/UnwindersTallComics'' plays with this rather vigorously. [[http://tallcomics.com/?id=32 On Halloween 2008]], Unwinder mocks three of his friends for all dressing up as [[Film/TheDarkKnight Heath Ledger's Joker]]--while he himself goes as a fully-nude [[ComicBook/{{Watchmen}} Dr. Manhattan]]. [[http://tallcomics.com/?id=55 The following year,]] Barbecue Sauce cosplays Jaded Lament from in-universe anime ''Tokyo Delta Jetlag D'' for a Harvest Festival. For [[http://tallcomics.com/?id=104 Halloween 2011]], there's a trick-or-treater dressed as [[Webcomic/TheNonAdventuresOfWonderella Wonderella]], and Unwinder (dressed as ComicStrip/MarkTrail) mocks Barbecue Sauce (dressed as [[WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}} Bender]]) for referring to their costumes as "cosplay".
-->'''Unwinder:''' Look around you. Does this look like a "con"? This is just "dressing up". It's something you can do without being a nerd. We don't need a special word for it, because it's not sixty percent of our lifestyle.
* [[http://fanboys-online.com/index.php?blog=50&comic=307 This]] ''Webcomic/{{Fanboys}}'' comic, featuring Paul as WebVideo/{{Doctor Horrible|sSingAlongBlog}}, Sylvia as [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Viral]], and Lemmy as [[VideoGame/SuperPaperMario The Mysterious Mr. L]].
* The [[http://girlamatic.com/skindeep/2008/09/16/the-one-eyed-bear-1/ Halloween story]] in ''Webcomic/SkinDeep'' features all the main characters dressed in costume, including the sphinx character dressed as [[{{Pun}} The Riddler]]
* ''Webcomic/DominicDeegan'' had one in its first year. But since that was a good eight years ago just about all the webcomic characters their outfits referenced to have long since died and vanished from the internet.
* ''Webcomic/FarOutThere'' [[http://faroutthere.smackjeeves.com/comics/1069377/happy-pumpkin-day likes]] [[http://faroutthere.smackjeeves.com/comics/1090131/happy-halloween doing]] [[http://faroutthere.smackjeeves.com/comics/1336751/halloween/ this]] as one of its many holiday bonuses.
* ''Webcomic/WayfarersMoon'' does this not [[http://www.wayfarersmoon.com/index.php?page=54 once]], but [[http://www.wayfarersmoon.com/index.php?page=115 twice]] and throws in some [[http://www.wayfarersmoon.com/index.php?page=58 Thanksgiving]] and [[http://www.wayfarersmoon.com/index.php?page=66 Christmas]] for good measure.
* ''Webcomic/RubysWorld'' has done this twice in homage to other comic/cartoon characters, [[http://nitzthebloody.blogspot.com/2009/10/rubys-world-halloween-fan-art-thought.html 2009 ]] and [[http://nitzthebloody.blogspot.com/2010/10/rubys-world-happy-halloween-cosplay.html 2010.]]
* ''Sancta Terra'' had two of the main characters [[http://sanctaterra.thecomicseries.com/comics/pl/66994 dress up as each other.]]
* ''Webcomic/GameDestroyers'' has had two Halloween strips, one in [[http://www.gamedestroyers.net/341 2008]] and one in [[http://www.gamedestroyers.net/688 2009.]]
* Terenya from ''Webcomic/{{Uncreation}}'' was dressed as a nurse from ''Franchise/SilentHill'' in 2010, as seen [[http://uncreation.comicdish.com/gfx/Halloween2010.jpg here.]] Fitting, since she's TheMedic.
* ''Webcomic/FiveColorControl'' had its characters cosplay in [[http://www.5colorcontrol.com/comic.php?comic=39 this]] FillerStrip.
* [[http://brawlinthefamily.keenspot.com/2008/10/31/98-trickortreat/ This]] early Webcomic/BrawlInTheFamily strip had Adeleine as [[WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons Lisa Simpson]], Meta Knight as [[Franchise/FinalFantasy Black Mage]], and King Dedede as [[WesternAnimation/SouthPark Eric Cartman]].
* ''Webcomic/TheLawOfPurple'': Lette dresses up as Priest Set(o)
* ''Webcomic/StubbleTrouble'' does this each year.
* ''Webcomic/UnintentionallyPretentious'' has [[http://www.unintentionallypretentious.com/index.asp?c=94 Mia and Luthor]] as [[WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons Marge and Homer]], while [[http://www.unintentionallypretentious.com/index.asp?c=96 Sydney]] dressed as [[Manga/RanmaOneHalf Akane Tendo]].
* ''Webcomic/TimesLikeThis'' does this every once in a while:
** [[http://www.timeslikethis.com/?id=157 The first party.]]
** [[http://www.timeslikethis.com/?id=259 Agent Scott hosts one]] where the theme is TheEighties.
** [[http://www.timeslikethis.com/?id=471 This one has an internet-meme theme.]]
* ''Webcomic/{{Bomango}}'': Gogo was planning on having her and her friends go as characters from ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'' and ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra''. [[http://vanheist.deviantart.com/art/costumerism-491767836 But they weren't entirely up on the plan.]]
* ''Webcomic/LeifAndThorn'' has the cast dress up as characters from [[ShowWithinAShow in-universe fiction]] that they're fans of:
** [[http://leifandthorn.com/comic/happy-halloween-2016/ Halloween 2016]], Violet and Rowan as characters from [[Literature/HarryPotter The Holger Saga]], Holly and Ivy as famous [[MagicalGirl magical girls]].
** [[http://leifandthorn.com/comic/happy-halloween-2017/ Halloween 2017]], Violet, Rowan, and Thorn as the main characters from [[Theatre/{{Hamilton}} Leachtric]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Web Original]]
* ''Website/{{Gaia|Online}}'' is quite fond of this for its Halloween events, and the art changes every year. (With the exception of the past few years, where everyone recycled their costumes). It started out in 2004, with Agatha as [[Franchise/{{Ghostbusters}} Slimer]], Meridith as [[Franchise/StarWars Darth Vader]], and Moria as [[Franchise/ANightmareOnElmStreet Freddy Krueger]]. Other famous examples include Edmund as Film/JamesBond, Liam as [[Film/TheSilenceOfTheLambs Hannibal Lecter]], Sasha as [[Film/TheRing Samara]], Ian as [[Franchise/LupinIII Jigen]], Vanessa as Creator/ElviraMistressOfTheDark, and Agatha as the [[FanDisservice most terrifying thing]] you've ever seen in your life.
** While the majority of shopkeepers didn't indulge in this trope for Halloween 2009, it ''did'' bring us Edmund as Franchise/{{Batman}}. In the midst of the event, the [=Dernier* Cri=] crew returned with Brennivin as Andy Warhol, Kanoko as fellow RIG character Hatsya, and... Radio [[Franchise/PiratesOfTheCaribbean Jack Sparrow]].
** Exapanded in 2010, with Nicolae as [[Film/AClockworkOrange Alex]], Moria as [[Franchise/GhostInTheShell The Major]], Kanoko as [[Franchise/HarryPotter Hermione]], Radio Jack as [[Franchise/{{Pokemon}} Pikachu]], Ian as [[Anime/DragonBallZ Goku]], Rina as [[Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers Chibitalia]], Becky as Music/LadyGaga, Peyo as [[Film/WhereTheWildThingsAre Max]], Louie as [[Manga/{{Bleach}} Uryu Ishida]]... and the list goes on from there.
* At the Halloween of the ''Literature/WhateleyUniverse'', Team Kimba went as characters from ''Anime/TenchiMuyo'' since Tennyo cannot keep from looking like Ryoko. No one told Phase that Generator made a Sasami costume for him to go in.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Web Videos]]
* Creator/SamAndMickey:
** [[Franchise/{{Barbie}} Stacie]] often dresses as [[WesternAnimation/PeterPan Tinker Bell]].
** In "Halloween", [[Toys/{{Bratz}} Yasmin]] dresses as [[spoiler:Barbie]], though Barbie mistakes her for several other personalities before she puts on her mask. Additionally, WesternAnimation/{{Snow White| and the Seven Dwarfs}} and [[WesternAnimation/BeautyAndTheBeast Belle]] dress as each other.
** The ''Spooky Stories'' miniseries has Skipper dress as Barbie.
** ''The Barbie Cooking Show'' (Halloween Edition) ha Skipper and Yasmin dress as [[Series/{{Baywatch}} Lani McKenzie]] and WesternAnimation/DoraTheExplorer, respectively.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Western Animation]]
* In the ''WesternAnimation/TransformersAnimated'' episode "Along Came A Spider", which took place on Halloween, Sari dressed up as Optimus Prime, and her square costumes ends up making her [[MythologyGag look more like G1 Prime]].
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Gargoyles}}'', twice, once in a TV episode and later again in a comic book issue. In the TV episode, Eliza dressed as Belle from ''WesternAnimation/BeautyAndTheBeast''. Her date was [[ForHalloweenIAmGoingAsMyself Goliath]].
* ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'': In the episode "A Nightmare on Face Time", the four boys prepare a team cosplay, as Film/{{The Avengers|2012}}, to participate in a Halloween costume contest.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheAmazingWorldOfGumball'' HalloweenEpisode "The Scam", Gumball dresses as WesternAnimation/{{Beetlejuice}}, Leslie dresses as [[Film/LittleShopOfHorrors Audrey II]], and Sarah dresses as the moon from ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaMajorasMask''. The later Halloween episode "The Ghouls" has Richard as [[VideoGame/GodOfWar Kratos]], Anton and Idaho as members of Music/{{KISS}}, Tobias as WesternAnimation/{{Captain Planet|AndThePlaneteers}}, Banana Joe as [[Franchise/{{Pokemon}} Pikachu]], Yuki as ComicBook/{{Catwoman}}, Miss Simian as [[Franchise/FlashGordon Ming the Merciless]], and Mr. Small as Franchise/SailorMoon.
* In the ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales2017'' HalloweenEpisode "The Trickening!", Huey goes trick-or-treating as Gizmoduck. Mrs. Beakley is also shown at the end of the episode to be dressed up as Darkwing Duck ([[ContinuityNod having become a fan of the series back in "Friendship Hates Magic!"]]).
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Jem}}'': In the episode "Trick or Techrat", Terri dresses as Literature/RaggedyAnn for Halloween.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheOwlHouse'': [[spoiler:All of the Hexsquad dresses up for Halloween while trapped on Earth as they want a chance to experience its "weird human traditions". At Amity's suggestion, she and Luz do a couple's costume dressed as the main characters from their shared favorite book series, ''[[ShowWithinAShow The Good Witch Azura]]''. Gus and Hunter both dress up as characters from ''Cosmic Frontier'', a ''Star Trek'' parody they'd both recently gotten into. Willow is the only one whose costume isn't based on a media franchise, instead wearing a generic demon costume she bought from a magic shop.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy'':
** In "Halloween on Spooner Street," Chris attends a costume party dressed as [[Franchise/{{Transformers}} Optimus Prime]]. He had to be talked out of wearing a [[Series/TheCosbyShow Cliff Huxtable]] outfit, for [[BlackFace obvious reasons]].
** In "Fertilized Megg," a brief scene taking place on Halloween showd the family sans a meth-addicted Peter celebrating in full regalia: Lois is shown dressed as [[Series/SheHulkAttorneyAtLaw the MCU's She-Hulk]], Chris as Series/TedLasso, Meg as [[Series/TheWhiteLotus Tanya McQuoid]], and Brian and Stewie as [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Mario and Luigi]], respectively.
