-->-- Prince John, WesternAnimation/RobinHood1973

An AlwaysFemale, or AlwaysMale, trope that is applied to the opposite gender.

While it's not possible to pull off with many of these tropes, due to some of them requiring certain biological features, and others are automatically seen in a different light when gender-inverted, (like the MamaBear and the PapaWolf), making them an entirely different trope, others are only based on certain generic concepts associated with the gender, and nothing stops the writers from playing with them.

It might be PlayedForDrama, PlayedForLaughs as a character's unique quirk, or even not intended at all: For example, maybe a writer simply thought that gypsy men are hot, and didn't even realize that HotGypsyWoman is a lot more common trope.

Conversely, it can be our own fault, due to ValuesDissonance, as our trope definitions are largely based on Western and Japanese works, so it is possible that for example an Indian or Latin American show's characters can be only described with our vocabulary as "Like this trope, but male", even though it could be considered a different trope over there, but none of us knows enough about the culture to make a page for it. If the two tropes are indeed separate, they can have separate pages created.

In trope lists, it is often referred to as Rare Male Example and Rare Female Example.

* In Manga/TheWeathermanIsMyLover, Amasawa is a irluy.
* In Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers Poland, Finland, Sealand and Prussia have many characteristics of a PluckyGirl. Albeit their versions are highly flamboyant (Poland), Finland, childish (Sealand) and/or narcissistic (Prussia) ones.
** And let's not forget that Germany and England are male versions of the Tsundere trope.
** Austria and Hungary meanwhile invert the LadyAndKnight trope, with Hungary more often than not being the knight.
** Norway's hair-clip proves that it's not just the girls who are cuter with hair decs.
** Japan (fittingly) is a male YamatoNadeshiko.
* Brock from the Anime/PokemonTheSeries is TeamMom supreme. He cooks, cleans, heals injured Pokémon, and even Ash's mother praises his domestic skills ("He's a better seamstress than I'll ever be"). It's overt from his first episode, as we first see him taking care of his nine brothers and sisters in their parents' absence, and his stated goal is to be a Pokémon Breeder (one who raises/cares for Pokémon).
* from Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam and from Anime/TheVisionOfEscaflowne are male versions of TheOphelia at some point of the story. 41* Misaki from Manga/OnlyTheFlowerKnows is an endearingly clumsy boy who initially behaves Tsundere irritably, but gradually warms up to his love interest over time, acting more shy and easily flustered around him. Said love interest also finds his teary face adorable. Unsurprisingly, he's from a BoysLove manga.

* Night from Manga/AbsoluteBoyfriend is a MagicalBoyfriend.
* Kuranosuke from Manga/PrincessJellyfish is a male NerdNanny, and a Manic Pixie Dream Guy.
** Not to mention a nenjo.
* In Anime/KirbyRightBackAtYa, Sirica wants to kill Meta Knight because he killed her mother (the normal version of the trope was played straight earlier by Knuckle Joe).
* Erza Scarlet from Manga/FairyTail is TheBigGuy of her FiveManBand as she's one of the strongest female wizards of the title guild; notable because her team group is not an AmazonBrigade.
* Similarly to Erza, Kagura from Manga/Gintama is TheBigGuy too due to her immense strength (she is a Yato, a clan of incredibly strong Amanto). And she's younger than the guys in her group.

* Sho from Manga/SkipBeat is a male IdolSinger.
* An episode of Anime/HellGirl features a woman who killed her son out of greed and got away with it. She blackmails a girl who she thinks found out about it by holding the girl's dogs hostage. Unlike most examples, the woman also killed the boy's grandparents to get at their inheritance money. She gets what's coming to her in the end.
* Anime/CuteHighEarthDefenseClubLove is a Magical Boy Warrior show, and also has male versions of PhoneaholicTeenager and CuteSportsClubManager.
** The sequel, Anime/CuteHighEarthDefenseClubHappyKiss, throws a Magical Boy Kingliness Test into the mix.
* Manga/DailyLivesOfHighSchoolBoys and Anime/Tsuritama are Schoolboy Series. Ditto for Manga/YouAndMe and Manga/SeishunKouryakuhon.

* Miss Kobayashi of Manga/MissKobayashisDragonMaid (by the same author as the above) is a Salaryman Salarywoman.
* Takeo Goda from Manga/MyLoveStory is basically a Stock Shojo Hero.
* Anime/SanrioBoys (especially its web incarnation) is probably the closest thing there is to a Rare Male Example of an OtakuSurrogate, being about a group of pretty boys who like Creator/Sanrio products. Although to be fair, it does have a basis in reality. It also has a big helping of Schoolboy Series tropes as well.
** Manga/FudanshiKoukouSeikatsu is another OtakuSurrogate, this time concerning a handsome Yaoi Fanboy and his dealing with loving the genre.
* Manga/SaintSeiya has a male version of FrillyUpgrade, as the Bronze Cloths eventually become "Divine Cloths".

* Alois Trancy From Manga/BlackButler II is a disturbing male example of a FilleFatale.
* In the Literature/InfiniteStratos second season OVA, Charlotte has a dream in which Ichika and she are Master and Servant Girl respectively.
* Manga/MagicalGirlOre is about girls becoming SuperGenderBender Magical Boy Warriors.

* Superhero's dads/paternal figures tend to be an example of Disposable Men.
** ComicBook/Batman: During his lifetime, Thomas Wayne tries to turn the corrupted Gotham City into a better place to live. His son Bruce Wayne, tries to do the same, but in a less diplomatic way. Despite some works casting doubt on how morally correct Thomas was, most of them represent him as TheGoodKing who always did the right thing in favour of his city despite his failures, and his death by the hands of the crime he used to fight is the principal motivation why Batman exists.
** ComicBook/SpiderMan: Uncle Ben is the main reason why Peter Parker is a hero. It's not surprising why the sentence "with great power comes great responsibility" Despite popular belief, he didn't say the phrase first in the comics. It was the narrator, probably Creator/StanLee , inspiring by his experience as a screenwriter for the U.S army world war II propaganda. It wasn't until the Sam Raimi film when the character himself said it is associated with the character, and he also serves as a reminder of why Spider-man doesn't follow his selfish desires and instead become an altruist who tries to do the right thing for others.
* ComicBook/Superman: In ComicBook/WhateverHappenedToTheManOfTomorrow, Pete Ross suffers a male version of StuffedIntoTheFridge.
* ComicBook/PlasticMan: Plastic Man is a male version of a NavelDeepNeckline.
* BattleCouple ComicBook/GreenArrow and ComicBook/BlackCanary often gender flip GuysSmashGirlsShoot, with Canary being the hand-to-hand expert and Arrow being, obviously, an archer, though they are both highly proficient in their opposing skill as well.
* ComicBook/SecretWars2015 has a male example of TheSmurfettePrinciple -- the Mighty Defenders team is made up almost entirely of female superheroes, with Spider-Man (a.k.a. Spider-Hero) as the only male on the team.
* In ComicBook/TheGatherersSaga, Proctor is an example of Man Scorned. In his world, he married Sersi, but when she lost interest in him, he killed her, and now wants to kill all Sersis from all alternate universes.
* In ComicBook/AlsBaby, Al becomes a male PregnantBadass, and Al Jr. is a male DaddysLittleVillain.

* In Here, There Be Dragons, Bilbo is a Mafia Prince.

* Fanfic/HuntingTheUnicorn Cerebus Retcons Blaine Anderson into either TheIngenue or the PrincessClassic. Despite also fitting the PrinceCharming or KnightInShiningArmor archetypes, Blaine's optimism and naivete inevitably breaks him.
* Benedict (the hotheaded aggressive Out of Town), Tank (the smart easygoing Downtown) and Kidd (sarcastic style-oriented Uptown) of Fanfic/PokemonCrossing are Town Boys.

* Fanfic/CodeGeassPaladinsOfVoltron: Has a grandmother and grandson LikeFatherLikeSon. Lelouch rebelled against Britannia for their mistreatment of others and himself, In fact, spoiler: if Lelouch's maternal grandmother actually is Krolia, then she is the one person in his family he most takes after, choosing to battle a seemingly insurmountable foe to improve the lives of others even though doing so would likely be to his detriment.

Unlike most examples of a teen couple, it's the chick who's pushing the shy JerkJock for sex, and she ends up carrying him away from the probe.
* In WesternAnimation/MrPeabodyAndSherman, Sherman is a Cute Clumsy Boy.
* In WesternAnimation/TurningRed, Ming is a Brooding Girl to Jin's Gentle Boy.

-->That was a 'girlfriend' part, really ... That's a part that a lot of women end up playing, the 'why aren't you home more,' the naggy wife.
* Janie Orlean in Film/DontLookUp is a female Trumplica, a vapid, bullying, Politician, peroxide-blonde United States President who entered politics through the entertainment industry (in her case, it's implied that she was a former model) and whose every action reflects any number of criticisms that UsefulNotes/DonaldTrump's opponents had of him. Given the film's cynical attitude towards the political establishment in general, however, her characterization also includes criticisms of a number of Trump's opponents, most notably UsefulNotes/HillaryRodhamClinton, Trump's rival in the 2016 Presidential election.
* Ash from the Franchise/EvilDead series started out as a Final Boy.

** As an inspirational leader of less than exalted origins who brings together warring tribes in their fight for an independent homeland and affects an aura of mythic heroism, Lawrence plays the Arab Revolt's JeanneDArchetype. However, the homeland he's fighting for is not his own, which leads to complications most Jeannes don't have to deal with.

** Film/Thor has what can best be described as a Magical Boy Kingliness Test for the title character, who is also a Magical Boyfriend to a nerdy Unlucky Everygirl. His brother Loki is a BrainyBrunet (magic and science are the same thing on Asgard), a CuteMonsterBoy (when Odin finds him as a baby), a Dark Magical Boy, a male GreenSkinnedSpaceBabe (when he's exposed to the Jötnar's power) and a VainSorcerer.
