When a media personality has dyed hair [[KaleidoscopeHair so often]], or for so long, it becomes an integral part of their whole characterization, to the point that it can be jarring to see them or their actor with their natural color.

Do not confuse with DyeingForYourArt, which is when other physical characteristics are deliberately altered to fit the demands of the producers.
Though it could overlap as some actors may prefer the new hair color such as Music/AshleyTisdale and Creator/EmmaStone who have long stayed with the color that they were required to change to.

* Creator/DanneelAckles is a natural brunette but has dyed her hair red for years and is mostly known as a redhead.
* Creator/AmyAdams is actually blonde but famously dyes her hair red (as seen in ''Film/{{Enchanted}}'', ''Film/TheFighter'', ''Film/TheMuppets2011'' and so on).
* Creator/GillianAnderson, although a natural blonde, became famous as a redhead and the image has stuck.
* While Creator/JenniferAniston is recognized for her honey blonde hair, [[https://web.archive.org/web/20180315231653/https://www.usmagazine.com/stylish/news/jennifer-aniston-is-jealous-of-kate-middletons-hair-2013136/ she actually has]] "naturally wavy, frizzy Greek hair." Look no further than [[https://web.archive.org/web/20180928021335/https://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/09/16/article-2038248-0DED9A1A00000578-323_634x544.jpg this picture]] of Aniston with Chaz Bono in their senior year of high school. She kept her natural dark brown hair earlier in her career prior to ''Series/{{Friends}}'', but since the show she's gone through most of the shades of blonde.
* Creator/GregAyres, a popular anime voice actor, has a habit of ''constantly'' dyeing his hair, to the point where there was a joke about it in the first (and only) American Anime Awards ceremony and con employees have had a betting pool about what color his hair would be on at least one occasion. He himself joked about it on the ''Anime/ChronoCrusade'' DVDCommentary: "Look, I finally have the same hair color as the character I'm playing! I knew if I kept my hair purple long enough, it would happen."
* Creator/LucilleBall was born with brown hair but most of her appearances have her as a redhead. This was lampshaded in one episode of ''Series/ILoveLucy'' when Ricky cut her allowance and she couldn't afford both snacks and her trip to the beauty shop, complaining "I can either be a thin redhead or a fat brunette." When she was accused of being a Communist during the Red Scare (she was registered with the Communist Party, but it's widely believed that was only to please her grandfather, who ''was'' a Communist and had raised her), Desi Arnez publically stated, "The only thing red about her is her hair, and that's not even real!" Conversely, Vivian Vance ([[Series/ILoveLucy "Ethel"]]) was a natural redhead.
** Further, in one of her earliest appearances on film (with Film/TheThreeStooges) she was a blonde!
* Creator/BrigitteBardot is known for being a blonde, but is a natural brunette.
* Kari Byron of ''Series/MythBusters''. Especially in earlier seasons, the dark brown (black?) can be seen through the red streaks.Later seasons have her dyeing her hair auburn with a strong reddish tone.
* Creator/CateBlanchett has forgotten what her actual hair color ''is''; she's usually seen with blonde, strawberry blonde or red hair.
* Creator/LaurenBacall was a natural brunette who dyed her hair red as a career move.
* Margarita Carmen Cansino went from brunette to redhead when her studio basically Anglicized her into being Creator/RitaHayworth. Oddly enough it was treated as being a big deal when soon-to-be-ex-husband Creator/OrsonWelles made her dye her hair blonde for ''Film/TheLadyFromShanghai'', so maybe everyone had forgotten she wasn't a natural redhead either.
* Creator/KatieCassidy is a natural brunette like [[Creator/DavidCassidy her father]], but plays blondes in nearly her entire resume. It's kinda shocking the few times she shows up with brown hair (''Series/HarpersIsland'', the early seasons of ''Series/{{Arrow}}'').
* Creator/JennaColeman is naturally brown-haired, but in an interview with her ''Series/DoctorWho'' co-star Creator/MattSmith she confessed that she often dyes her hair a different shade of brown. In 2018, she revealed on Instagram that she had bleached or dyed her hair blonde for her role in the miniseries ''Series/TheCry'', the first time she has drastically changed her hair colour for a TV or film role.
* Creator/BenedictCumberbatch generally has dark brown hair, or sometimes blonde hair, but he's really ginger.
* Creator/VincentDOnofrio shaves his head whenever he's playing Wilson Fisk in ''Series/Daredevil2015''.
* Creator/HilaryDuff, a natural brunette, is known to dye her hair blonde, namely in ''Series/LizzieMcGuire''. Since it's a dirty blond, she only had to have dyed lighter when she did ''Film/CasperMeetsWendy'', a couple years before ''Lizzie [=McGuire=]''.
* The black-haired Sergio Fantoni plays the ''very'' blonde Captain von Hecht in ''Film/HornetsNest''. His hair in the film is a very unnatural-looking shade of nearly white bleach-blonde.
* Creator/NoelFielding actually has brown hair (as seen in the first series of ''Series/TheMightyBoosh'' and other early works), but he's known much better for having black hair, which is part of his image as a PerkyGoth.
* Creator/SarahMichelleGellar, best known for playing the blonde ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'', actually has brown hair and frequently played brunette characters during her early career. She also started off ''Buffy'' with slightly darker hair, and got progressively blonder with the seasons.
* Creator/EvaGreen is actually a natural blonde but has favoured her hair black since she was fourteen.
* Creator/AlysonHannigan's natural hair colour is a brownish auburn but she is often seen with red hair or else dark brown. She was required to dye it red for ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'' as she had the same colour as Sarah Michelle Gellar. She ended up keeping it for most of her career.
* Creator/JeanHarlow dyed her hair platinum blonde, though she denied it, and was in fact naturally very fair — just not as fair as she appeared onscreen. Eventually, her hair actually had to be cropped short due to peroxide damage, meaning in some films she's actually wearing a wig. Some stories say that bleached her pubic hair as well to maintain the illusion, but this is likely false.
* Actress Trestine Harper is a natural-born blonde, but had to dye her hair brown for her role as Farrah on ''Series/MyFamilyAndMe'' because the main character's best friend is supposed to be a brunette. You can still see her naturally blonde locks in her brown hair in her earlier appearances on the show.
* ''Series/MadMen'''s Creator/ChristinaHendricks is a natural blonde but has been dyeing her hair red since she was 10. Apparently it's because she was a massive fan of ''Literature/AnneOfGreenGables''. After ''Mad Men'' wrapped she dyed her hair a light shade of blonde as part of an advertising campaign for a hair colouring brand; it was rather jarring (and it wasn't long before she was back to red).
* Creator/KateHudson is known as a blonde just like [[Creator/GoldieHawn her mother]], but revealed herself to be a natural brunette after shaving her hair into a buzzcut for her role as Kazu in ''Film/Music2021''.
* Creator/AngelinaJolie's hair is naturally a dark blonde. She occasionally reverts to it (''Film/GirlInterrupted'', ''Film/{{Gone in Sixty Seconds|2000}}'', ''Film/LifeOrSomethingLikeIt'') but jet black is the most common (''Film/{{Salt}}'' even has her going from blonde to black). She's apparently been doing it since the age of ''five''.
* Comedian Herman José is a natural brunet, but from late 2002 to early 2010, he bleached his hair to dirty blond.
* Creator/DeborahKerr was a natural redhead, just much darker. An aunt of hers persuaded her to lighten it in order to make herself more noticeable. [[spoiler: It worked!]]
* Creator/NicoleKidman, another natural redhead, often dyes her hair for movie roles. She allegedly began dying her hair blonde after it turned prematurely white.
* Creator/KeiraKnightley is naturally a chestnut brown but has been better known for either blonde or dark brown hair.
* Creator/LisaKudrow is also a natural brunette, but is known as a blonde.
* Creator/LucyLawless is a natural blond, but ''everyone'' thinks of her as the brown-haired [[Series/XenaWarriorPrincess Xena]]. Additionally, during the character's first appearances on ''Series/HerculesTheLegendaryJourneys'', her hair was dyed black.
** She did play the blond #3 on ''Series/{{Battlestar Galactica|2003}}''.
* Music/LindsayLohan is a natural redhead, though she has dyed her hair numerous times, from brown to jet black, light blonde, platinum blonde, and finally back to red again. There was a humorous [[http://www.celebuzz.com/2010-05-26/the-lindsay-lohan-hair-terror-alert-scale-photos/ article titled "The Lindsay Lohan Hair Terror Alert Scale"]] that associated how much of a chance she would behave by what shade her hair is, similar to the United States Homeland Security's Terror Alert Scale.
* Lily Loveless is a natural brunette, but was bleached blonde for ''Film/{{Skins}}'' and [[Series/TheFades has barely gone back since]].
* Creator/RichardMadden has prematurely-graying hair and a white streak, which he dyes dark brown for his roles, but when he was cast in ''Film/{{Eternals}}'', he was encouraged to keep his silver streaks since it was fitting for his character.
* Creator/JamesMarsters, who supposedly had issues after he stopped playing [[Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer Spike]] and went back to his natural brown hair.
* Creator/RoseMcGowan is naturally brunette but has alternated between that, blonde and redhead. She went through all three colours during her time on ''Series/{{Charmed|1998}}''. The show hand waved the colour change saying a potion blew up on her and turned her hair that way.
* Creator/KatieMcGrath of ''Series/{{Merlin|2008}}'', practically the poster girl for EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette is naturally dark blonde.
* Christine [=McIntyre=] was a natural brunette before she started working with Film/TheThreeStooges, when she dyed her hair blonde.
* Creator/KatherineMcNamara is a brunette, but she's almost never seen with that color since she transitioned to adult roles. She mainly gravitates between a redhead and a blonde.

* Creator/MarilynMonroe, who was naturally a brunette.
* Creator/BrittanyMurphy was a natural brunette; however, she got most of her more famous roles after she dyed her hair blonde. (''Film/{{Clueless}}'' and ''Film/GirlInterrupted'' notwithstanding.)
* Speaking of ''Xena'', Creator/ReneeOConnor, most well known for playing her partner Gabrielle, is also a blond, and dyed her hair red for the show.
* Blonde Creator/EmilyOsment recently [[http://twitter.com/#!/EmilyOsment/media/slideshow?url=http%3A%2F%2Finstagr.am%2Fp%2FWp6fv%2F dyed her hair]] black for a short while, while brunette Music/DemiLovato [[http://blog.zap2it.com/pop2it/2011/11/demi-lovato-dyes-hair-red-what-do-you-think.html dyed their hair red]].
* Creator/PauleyPerrette of ''Series/{{NCIS}}'' fame constantly dyes her blond hair black to achieve her character Abby's trademark goth look. Years of hair dye eventually had an adverse effect on her health, though, she eventually developed [[http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/gossip/ncis-star-hospitalized-severe-allergic-reaction-hair-dye-article-1.1876397 an allergic reaction to the chemicals in hair dye and her face swelled up considerably]].
* Redhead Cassandra Peterson dyes her hair black for her far more famous persona Creator/ElviraMistressOfTheDark, when she doesn't use a wig instead.
* Vic Reeves of the Reeves and Mortimer comedy duo. Original color: Blond. Once had to ''stop'' dyeing his hair to convince people that his new son was his own.
* Creator/BilliePiper naturally brunette but is better known as a blonde.
* Creator/FrankaPotente (''Film/TheBourneIdentity'', ''Film/RunLolaRun'') is known for dyeing her hair often.
* Creator/MollyRingwald, a famous redhead, dyed it that way after an agent advised her it was a good color to get her attention in the film industry. It worked.
* Science presenter on Creator/TheBBC, Dr. Alice Roberts used to be notorious for dyeing her hair every possible shade of red or orange, but it seems that with her shows now involving a lot of filming in remote locations, it became too much of a hassle and she doesn't bother anymore.
* Creator/WinonaRyder is naturally blonde (the colour in ''Film/EdwardScissorhands'' is her natural one) but dyed her hair black/dark brown prior to her feature film debut in ''Film/{{Lucas}}'' and is what she is known for.
* Creator/HelenSlater, normally dark-haired, dyed her hair for the film ''Film/{{Supergirl|1984}}'' to play the [[ComicBook/{{Supergirl}} titular character]] and hasn't looked back since.
* Creator/MerylStreep is a natural (light) brunette, but outside of [[DyeingForYourArt certain film roles]] she has had blonde hair for over thirty years.
* Creator/JimmyStewart went bald fairly early and wore wigs while acting and making appearances. This helped him enjoy being out and about with his family, as he'd leave the wig at home and no one would recognize or bother him.
* Creator/KristenStewart was born strawberry blonde but is best known with dark brown hair.
* Creator/EmmaStone is known for her red hair, but her natural color is actually blonde (not the bleached blond she has in ''Film/TheAmazingSpiderMan'', though). Creator/JuddApatow actually required her to dye it red for ''Film/{{Superbad}}'' making this a rare combination with DyeingForYourArt.
* Creator/DitaVonTeese dyes her hair black, and she does it herself.
* Another Disney example: Creator/BellaThorne is actually a natural blonde (see [[http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3388639488/nm2254074 here]], for example).
* Ashley Tisdale had blonde hair as Sharpay Evans in the ''Film/HighSchoolMusical'' series. With her first long layoff from the films in 2009, she's gone back to her natural dark auburn hair color. As of 2011 she's blond again. She dyed it blonde for ''Series/TheSuiteLifeOfZackAndCody''.
* Creator/UmaThurman is actually a brunette, but has her hair bleached in most of her roles.
* Creator/SophieTurner is naturally a baby blonde, but she dyed her hair red for her role on ''Series/GameOfThrones'' and has kept that hair colour in all of her other roles, including famous redhead ComicBook/JeanGrey in ''Film/XMenApocalypse''. In 2018 she reverted to her natural blonde, coinciding with ''Game of Thrones'' finishing.
* Creator/SofiaVergara is a natural blonde but went dark at the requests of her casting directors - feeling it gave her a better SpicyLatina image.
* Creator/OliviaWilde is a natural blonde, but typically has her hair dyed brown.
* Tommy Wiseau of ''Film/TheRoom2003'' fame has incredibly, unnaturally dark black hair that is remarked upon by Greg Sestero in ''Literature/TheDisasterArtist'' to look as if he's dyed it with Sharpies. Sestero also discovered that his bathroom is covered in black stains, heavily implies Wiseau dyes the whole lot over and over instead of just the roots, and finds old photos of him with chestnut brown hair. Wiseau seems to think it makes him look vampiric.
* Creator/ReeseWitherspoon is known for playing blonde characters, but she's actually a brunette.
* Creator/DeborahAnnWoll is naturally a strawberry blonde. However, she began to dye it red during high school to, as she put it, no longer disappear into the background as she felt she did with her natural hair color. She retained this red hair color up through ''Series/TrueBlood'', where she played Jessica Hamby. She reverted back to her natural color prior to being cast as Karen Page in ''Series/Daredevil2015''.

* Creator/DennisRodman's creepy hairdo gets first place and some of them compose the image to the right. It even ported to his appearance in the video game ''NBA Hangtime'', where the player can actually '''choose''' which hair color Rodman will play with. His brief appearance in Wrestling/{{WCW}} led to him getting his own figure, which was available with blue or orange hair.
* UsefulNotes/MichaelJordan has to shave his head multiple times a week, seeing as his being bald is how the world knows him. Granted, he'd probably never grow it out anyway, but imagine him with even a bit of fuzz on top and think if he'd still be as marketable. An interview stated he shaved his head because he would get mobbed every time he would get a haircut at local barber shops.

[[folder:Fashion]]
* Iconic fashion designer VivienneWestwood has bright orange-red hair, which she dyes to maintain its shade (she's 70 years old, and would probably be at least partially grey if it weren't for the dye).
* Claudia Schiffer has become a household image as a golden-blonde Nordic, yet [[http://hairdiy.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Claudia-Schiffer-1.jpg her natural]] [[https://static.onecms.io/wp-content/uploads/sites/14/2012/08/26/082412-birthday-claudia-325.jpg hair]] is a honey-like shade, between a dark-blond and a light-brown. She had also been dyed [[http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-31is8ud-tiU/Tb7X_Mg91aI/AAAAAAAADDg/GPmDFH46KJA/s1600/claudia_schiffer_gallery_66.jpg red]] for some time.

[[folder:Internet Celebrities]]
* WebVideo/MarzGurl dyes her hair blue, but tends to have some trouble keeping it that way.
* Creator/AllisonPregler is known for her red hair, but early videos show her with her natural blonde. She later started dying it dark brown.
* WebVideo/AmazingPhil has been dyeing his hair black for almost as long as he has been online with the exception of a temporary break between September 2019 and May 2020. His natural hair colour is a mousy brown with a slight auburn tint, leading to ginger jokes (although it is not actually that red).
* Lindsay Jones of Creator/AchievementHunter is known to the fans as a redhead, but they're naturally blonde and likes alternating between the two.
* Creator/JamieVsTheVoid's hair has been ginger, pink, blonde, a pink/yellow vertical split and red so far.
* Ninja, known for being a video game streamer, always dyes his hair. Blue, red or sometimes both.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Musicians and Singers]]
* Music/ToriAmos dyes her hair various shades of red (and very occasionally light brown), although she has worn wigs in the past.
* While [[Music/GreenDay Billie Joe Armstrong]] dyes his hair between blond and black regularly, he used to dye it many crazy colors in the mid-90s: red, blue, blonde with oddly placed dreadlocks, etc.
* Music/EmilieAutumn is known for having pinkish-red hair, although the exact shade tends to change with each dye; her hair is naturally blonde.
* Music/{{Beyonce}}'s natural hair is naturally very dark brown, however for most of her career her hair has been either blonde or light brown, whether through dyes, extensions, or wigs. She's only ever gone back to brown for film roles in ''{{Film/Obsessed}}'' and ''{{Film/Dreamgirls}}''.
* Music/{{Bjork}}'s natural hair color isn't actually black. It's dark brown, as evident in her career as part of the Sugarcubes and ''Music/{{Debut}}''. During the latter part of the ''Music/{{Post}}'' period, she dyed her hair auburn and briefly bleached it blonde.
* Both Music/BlueStahli and Music/{{Celldweller}} have become known for their bright red hair.
* Music/DavidBowie was naturally a dark blond, but as part of establishing a distinctive look for his Ziggy Stardust character in 1972 he dyed his hair very red. Though he dropped that persona in 1973, he kept his hair predominantly red through 1976 and characters such as [[Film/TheManWhoFellToEarth Thomas Jerome Newton]] and The Thin White Duke.
* Music/NickCave has been dyeing his hair since he was sixteen. He has promised to keep it up until he dies.
* Music/MileyCyrus, in summer 2012 [[http://www.eonline.com/news/330342/miley-cyrus-goes-blond-mdash-do-you-like?cmpid=sn-000000-twitterfeed-365-Miley_Cyrus&dlvrit=283888 dyed her hair blonde]]. She got comments from Website/{{Twitter}} suggesting how she looks similar to her Series/HannahMontana role without needing a wig. Cyrus even briefly in 2013 dyed her ''eyebrows'' [[https://twitter.com/MileyCyrus/status/403418442201436160/photo/1 blonde]] to match her hair.
* Music/MarinaDiamandis deliberately bleached her hair from dark brown to blonde for the purpose of portraying her concept character for the album ''Electra Heart''. However, this damaged her hair so much that she resorted to wearing a blonde wig instead, with hair ribbons to hide the wig-line. When she released ''FROOT'', she'd dyed her hair back to dark brown.
* Music/AniDifranco. She has dyed her hair A LOT of colors during her lifetime. Green, purple, blonde, blue, black etc....
* Music/{{Disturbed}} guitarist Dan Donegan early in the band's career had hair ranging from brown to orange to blue to indigo. He's stopped doing this.
* Music/BillieEilish is a natural blonde but has dyed her hair to a different colour every few months. In her early years, she dyed it to a silver-white mix, while in her debut album ''Music/WhenWeAllFallAsleepWhereDoWeGo'', she dyed it to a green-black mix, before reverting back to being a blonde for her second album ''Happier Than Ever'' and then dyeing it red and recently black.
* Music/{{Eminem}}'s first single, "Just Don't Give a Fuck", didn't get played on MTV because Em's image as Slim Shady - a fleshy, sneering, dark-haired trailer-park dudebro, shot in black and white so it was harder to determine his skin color - wasn't working. After [[WhatDidIDoLastNight spontaneously bleaching his hair while high on ecstasy]] (which he would have got rid of if not for Dre persuading him to keep it), he changed to a new image based on being a [[FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon smiling, adorable all-American boy with a heart of pure evil]], which was ''extraordinarily'' successful and created a fad for young men cropping and bleaching their hair. Eminem's blondness became his signature, referenced repeatedly throughout his work - "''who would have thought, standing in this mirror, bleachin' my hair/ with some peroxide, reachin' for a tshirt to wear/ that I would catapult to the forefront of rap like this?''" - until he returned to his natural color for ''Film/EightMile'', by which time seeing him with dark hair was enough of a shock that it's made into a significant moment at the end of the movie. He maintained the blond hair up until after his drug overdose in 2008, going back to his natural color to signal a break with his addiction, as well as generally increased maturity - in interviews in the early 2010s, he expressed confusion he maintained the bleached look for as long as he did, saying that being 35 and having bleached hair seemed [[AgeInappropriateDress pathetic]]. This also let him, in his comeback album ''Relapse'', experiment with a different incarnation of Slim Shady with a different personality ([[WhatTheHellIsThatAccent and accent]]) to the blond one. He went blond again in 2013 for ''The Marshall Mathers LP 2'' as RevisitingTheRoots, kept it throughout 2016, then reverted again to his natural color for an [[AudienceAlienatingEra attempt at a serious, conscious pop album]] in 2017. (And grew a beard.)
* Music/LadyGaga is a natural brunette. Her hair is ''usually'' a random shade of blonde. She said the dye started because people confused her for Music/AmyWinehouse. She briefly went back to her natural brunette color in late 2014 however and dyed her hair pink in 2020 for her album ''Chromatica''.
* Music/AliceGlass formerly of Music/CrystalCastles has sported a number of hair colors over the years, her most common being jet black, fitting with her PerkyGoth personality. Her natural color is a light brown/dirty blonde.
* Music/DepecheMode’s Martin Gore is known for having his hair bleached some shade of blond over the years, there’s only been a handful of occasions where he’s been seen sporting his naturally medium-brown hair colour.
* Music/{{Grimes}}, who has had so many different hair colors and styles over the years that you could see two different pictures of her and not be able to tell that it's the same person. Her natural hair color is a mousy brown, and she admits that she dyes it frequently because she finds her natural color "boring."
* Deborah Harry, lead singer of the group Music/{{Blondie|Band}}, and was well known for her blond hair, hence the name of the group. When she decided to do some project on her own, she dyed her hair red either out of respect for not connecting it to the band (as she said) or because of some contractual obligation (may have been more likely). But she didn't dye her hair ''red'' the way normally expected, it was ''Fire Engine Red'', as in ''red paint''! It's been a more natural red shortly after Blondie broke up, as well as auburn for her role in ''Film/{{Videodrome}}''.
* Lux Interior of seminal punkabilly band Music/TheCramps was naturally blond, but dyed his hair black for almost all of his adult life.
* Music/EltonJohn, prior to his hair weave operation in 1992, was known for dyeing his hair in different colors, preferably a bright orange. He has said that his premature baldness had partly to do with having an accident with the dye.
* Music/HayleyKiyoko is a natural brunette but dyed her hair light brown with blonde highlights in the early 2010s (most notably seen in ''Series/WizardsOfWaverlyPlace'' and ''Film/LemonadeMouth'') before bleaching it blonde, which she has since then.
* Music/CyndiLauper is known for her dyed orange-red hair during her heydays, though she nowadays sport whitish blonde hair.
* Longtime Christian music recording artist (and one-time ''Series/{{Roundhouse}}'' cast member) Crystal Lewis. Her appearance in the 1985 musical "Hi-Tops" shows her hair appearing to be a dirty blonde; then switched to a redhead when she began recording (and during her ''"Series/{{Roundhouse}}"'' tenure). She switched to brunette for the album that proved to be her breakout hit, 1996's "Beauty for Ashes" before going blonde for her next few albums immediately following (and after a couple of albums where she went back to brunette, her most recent projects have had her go back to being a blonde.

* Red-haired Shirley Manson of Music/{{Garbage}} cut her hair and bleached it blonde, sporting a faux hawk hairstyle during the ''Beautiful Garbage'' era, before reverting back to being a redhead. She has recently cut her hair to a shoulder length and dyed it [[RoseHairedSweetie pink]] during the ''Strange Little Birds'' era.

* Music/HollywoodUndead’s Danny Murillo is a natural brunette, but has dyed his hair blonde twice. Since 2017, he has kept it that way. At one point in 2019, [[https://66.media.tumblr.com/65cdb024d9e9201baa8a75d12bc4f266/3a9dcea8a47d29f7-eb/s1280x1920/e813e3da42de73367bf1aee40985ac02a58f086a.jpg his hair was dyed pink.]] And as of this writing, Danny has [[https://66.media.tumblr.com/107d74ced76de46ca645bb39927a0d39/a334863c9e571d1d-d4/s1280x1920/8640cd197ccb7e9fc98eba49138b44fbc4e69fb2.jpg dyed his hair pink again.]]

** His daughter Kelly is a natural brunette, but usually dyes her hair in either pink, blonde, black, silver or most recently, purple.

* Music/KatyPerry is actually a blonde. She tried pretty much every hair color there is, but her default color is black, however in early 2017, she reverted back to being a blonde.
* Music/{{Pink}} (singer Alecia Moore), who always has dyed hair, but doesn't stick to a specific color. It's been blonde, bleached blonde, pink, jet black...

* Josh Ramsay of Music/MarianasTrench is known for having a blue fringe.
* Richard Kruspe of Music/{{Rammstein}} is a natural brunet, but now keeps dyeing it black. Flake Lorenz of the same band has been well known for dyeing his hair a variety of colors over the years, but has gone back to his natural brown.
* Music/BebeRexha is a natural brunette, but has since bleached her hair blonde. Compare the brunette haired Rexha in the video for "Me, Myself and I" with Music/GEazy to the blonde haired Rexha in the video for "No Broken Hearts" with Music/NickiMinaj.
* Music/LanaDelRey is naturally a blonde, and was blonde during her early years as Lana Del Ray. With the debut of ''Born to Die'', she had strawberry blonde hair, before gradually dyeing it darker over time. 158* Music/{{Shakira}} is a natural brunette, though her hair was shown to be a darker shade earlier in her career (specifically shown in her first ''four'' Spanish-language albums). It wasn't until her English-debut ''Laundry Service'' in 2001, where she sported her blonde hair, which she has nowadays.
* Music/AshleeSimpson dyed her hair from its natural blonde to a dark brunette, in order to distance herself from [[Music/JessicaSimpson her sister's]] image. She eventually let it return to blonde, and has since dyed a deep red.
** Contrastingly, Jessica Simpson herself, while known as a blonde, is a natural brunette.

* Music/GwenStefani. Natural brunette who dyes her hair blond.
* ''Bernard Sumner'', of Music/NewOrder and Music/JoyDivision, didn't start dyeing his hair until the mid 1980's or so. Nowadays, it's a blond-ish grey-ish colour, but in the very early days of ''New Order'' as well as in ''Joy Division,'' he had dark hair.
* The band Japan all dyed their hair to start with, with singer Music/DavidSylvian going for a blond look, which he continued to use for the rest of their career and some of his solo career. He did it so well that many didn't know he dyed his hair. He has since reverted to his natural brownish-red colour, though his hair appears to have thinned from years of dyeing it. Pictures of him with natural hair colour from the early Japan days appear in their late bassist Mick Karn's book ''Japan & Self Existence''.
* ''Music/TarjaTurunen'' and [[Music/{{Nightwish|Band}} Tuomas Holopainen]] are both natural blondes, hard as it is to visualize. As is Anette Olzon.

* Lena Katina and Yulia Volkova, the former members of Music/{{Tatu}}, are usually recognized for having [[HairContrastDuo red hair and black hair]], respectively. Lena's natural hair color is strawberry blonde, while Yulia is a natural blonde.
* Farin Urlaub, one third of the German punk band ''Music/DieArzte'', dyes his hair blond because "it was fashionable in the 80s." Also had a crimson phase during the 90s. Their drummer Bela B. dyes his hair black, but it's naturally ash blonde.
* VisualKei. Impossible hair colors are the norm for most bands in the scene.
** Two members of the band Music/XJapan are particularly infamous for this. Most notably is late guitarist {{Music/hide|toMatsumoto}}, whose hair was always somewhere on the red-pink color spectrum (whether a streak of pink in blonde, variant red colors, or in his last years, short and bright pink). Drummer/pianist/bandleader Music/{{Yoshiki|Hayashi}} started out with blond hair, occasionally went brown, and now tends to go for a deep chestnut reddish brown -- but never, ever black (the only time it has even been close to that in his adult life has been at/immediately after hide's funeral).
** Every single member of Music/DirEnGrey has dyed their hair in different colors, but vocalist Music/{{Kyo}} is the worst offender among them. He has been known to cycle between black and bleached blonde hair, but has also went for a red/black two-tone, brown, red and bright orange. He even wore ''bright pink'' hair during the band's early days.
** Music/DynamiteTommy, record producer and pioneer of visual kei, got his moniker from the flaming red hair he wore during his career as a musician. He later opted for a more-natural hair color in response to the overwhelming number of [[FollowTheLeader copycat]] acts that appeared after the second-wave visual kei bands became popular.
* [[Music/MyChemicalRomance Gerard Way]]'s (often never washed) black hair, except for his period of [[DyeingForYourArt dyeing for his art]] by going platinum blond in order to "method act" as [[DiseaseBleach The Patient]] for ''The Black Parade''. As of [[NewSoundAlbum album number four]], he's a bright redhead. He went orangey blonde after the band disbanded but has since reverted back to being a brunet, which occured just prior to the reformation of his band.
* [[Music/FlorenceAndTheMachine Florence Welch's]] hair has noticeably changed from brown in "Kiss with a Fist" video to fiery red.
* Hayley Williams of Music/{{Paramore}} has red hair that she usually dyes varying shades, from blond to orange to bright red, all the way down to crimson (as seen in the "Decode" video). Cool tones also make frequent appearances, such as blue, green and silvery-white. One of the ''VideoGame/RockBand 2''[='=]s loading screens for Paramore songs revealed that Hayley herself has forgotten what was the natural color of her hair from dyeing it so much, though it was eventually revealed that her natural hair is blonde. She returned back to being a blonde in 2017. She became so known for this trope that she went on to co-found a hair dye company, [[https://gooddyeyoung.com/ Good Dye Young]], with her hair stylist Brian O'Connor.
* Music/{{Radiohead}} lead singer Thom Yorke's hair color and style has changed so often that some fans use his hair to date photos. He bleached it in the early days of Radiohead, but stopped during the ''OK Computer'' era. He's naturally a dark ginger.

[[folder:Pro Wrestlers]]
It seems that very few professional wrestlers use their natural hair color in the ring, with most people dyeing their hair either blond or black. It's a bit of a joke that all the blondes in wrestling are bottled and all the real blondes dye their hair something else.
* Dyed Blond(e)s:
** Wrestling/{{Maryse}} (naturally dark brown)
** Wrestling/TorrieWilson (naturally dark brown)
** Wrestling/JillianHall (who actually is naturally blond, but bleaches her hair a platinum shade)

** Wrestling/KellyKelly, though she went with her natural brunette hair for a while after her retirement before returning to blonde.
** Wrestling/DolphZiggler began his WWE career as Spirit Squad member Nicky (he was a brunet then). Since then, he bleached his hair blond (except for a few months in 2011 when he was a brunet). 190** Wrestling/DanaBrooke's platinum blond hair is obviously not natural.

** Wrestling/AshleyMassaro (naturally brunette)
** Wrestling/{{Carmella}} (naturally brunette)
** Wrestling/RosaMendes (who naturally has black hair) was briefly a dark blond during her television debut. She went a lighter shade of blonde in 2010, then black towards the end of the year. She briefly adopted a Creator/MarilynMonroe inspired look in 2014 before reverting to black again.
** Wrestling/SethRollins (naturally a brunet, but used to dye the hair on one side of his head blond)
** Wrestling/HulkHogan (who is a natural blond, but started bleaching it as he got older). He was asked to dye his hair red during his first run in WWF (since Hogan is an Irish surname), but declined because he was already balding at the time. He actually did end up frying off most of his remaining hair during a dye job gone wrong (Hogan's ex-wife Linda used to dye his hair, after their split, he tried to do it himself and messed up) and now wears extensions in public to maintain his trademark look.

** Wrestling/IvelisseVelez apparently wanted to be this while she was in WWE. Apparently her mother had tried to prevent her from dyeing her hair, because of her natural blonde colour. After getting released from WWE she finally dyed her hair brown. In 2016 she went redhead.
** Wrestling/KevinNash was a natural blond before he went gray (as seen from 1998-2002), but dyed his hair black in WWF as Diesel and during his brief return in 2011. He also dyed it brown at certain points.
** Wrestling/BeckyLynch is a natural dark blond, but dyes her hair various shades of red.

* Wrestling/RandySavage was naturally dark blond. His hair darkened to light brown when he got older and he started dyeing in black in the 1990s.
* Wrestling/MariaKanellis is a natural brunette, but is better known as a redhead. She was also blond for a brief period after her debut.
* Wrestling/{{Lita}} is also a natural brunette, but is known for various shades of red.

[[folder:Anime & Manga]]
* Max from ''Anime/BakutenShootBeyblade'' dyes his hair to attract girls, however we're never told what color it naturally is. Fan-speculation is that he lightens his natural blond hair, due to him having [[OffModel abnormally dark blond hair]] in one of the seasons.
* Misa Amane from ''Manga/DeathNote''. The DumbBlonde EvilDiva is shown to be a brunette and probably wears contacts as well.
* ''Literature/{{Durarara}}'' :

** Keishin has his hair dyed blond however his sideburns are black.
* Kaoru from ''Manga/ICantUnderstandWhatMyHusbandIsSaying'' has purple hair, but started dying it blonde after getting married to Hajime. This is briefly explained in the manga: she once [[StringyHairedGhostGirl flipped her hair over her face]] to imitate [[Literature/TheRing Sadako]], and Hajime was surprisingly overcome with {{moe}}, to Kaoru's distress. So she dyed her hair just because Hajime's "Sadako moe" thing freaked her out so bad.
* The protagonist of ''Inhabitants of the Threshold'' has his hair dyed green.

* ''Franchise/LupinIII'':
** Fujiko Mine from regularly goes through various shades of blonde, brunette, and red hair, with ''Anime/LupinIIITheItalianAdventure'' cutting the knot and giving her a [[http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-drhdU4L4IZA/Ve04kgpK-JI/AAAAAAAASBA/B62nb6mzK7o/s1600/Lupin-IIIfujiko.jpg blonde-to-brunette-to-red blend effect.]]

[[folder:Comic Books]]
* Both ComicBook/BlackCanary are naturally black-haired. The second originally wore a blonde wig to hide her hair but eventually grew it out and has been dyeing it for years. At the start of the ComicBook/New52 it had been retconned into being naturally blonde, but that was subsequently retconned as it was later shown that she bleached her hair blonde.
* ''ComicBook/{{Batman}}'': The second Pre-Crisis ComicBook/{{Robin}}, Jason Todd, was a natural redhead who dyes it black, ComicBook/PostCrisis writers couldn't seem to make up their minds about whether he was a natural brunette or redhead. The ComicBook/New52 made it naturally black.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Jem}}'': Unusual hair colors are common, despite the fact being glam rockers gave everyone a good excuse to dye their hair green or purple. [[ComicBook/JemAndTheHologramsIDW The comics]] makes it clear the characters dye their hair:

** Clash apparently dyed her hair recently. It's unknown if only the blue part is dyed or if she isn't a natural redhead either.
** Blaze's hair is mostly red with some blonde in it.

[[folder:Fan Works]]
* Father Brainstorm of ''Fanfic/CalvinAndHobbesTheSeries'' dyes his hair green.
* ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'': The idea that either Sam Manson or one of her parents dye their hair is popular {{Fanon}} since it handily would explain how a blond and a redhead have a child with raven hair without [[HeroicBastard non-standard parentage]] for Sam. Based on canon evidence, [[IdenticalGrandson namely how much Sam resembles her grandmother as a teen]], one of her parents is most likely though it doesn't entirely rule out Sam dying her hair (if she does dye her hair, blond is the more popular choice for her natural coloring given how much it clashes with her personality).
* In ''Webcomic/FriendshipIsMagic'', Rainbow Dash's natural hair color is blue, but she dyes it in a rainbow style to look cool.
* ''Fanfic/FormerlyKnownAsHarryPotter'': It's mentioned that Lily begin dyeing her naturally black hair red around age four. It's unclear if she still dyes it or whether it's magically turned red, though the later is more likely.
* In ''WebVideo/DragonBallZAbridged'', Android 17 is offhandedly mentioned to dye his hair. In this continuity he's naturally a blond, making him a HalfIdenticalTwin with his sister.
* ''Fanfic/WithPearlAndRubyGlowing'':
** [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Flim and Flam]] are natural redheads with blond streaks, because Flam clumsily attempted to bleach his hair after he was raped by a man with a fetish for red hair, and Flim bleached his to match in support.
** [[WesternAnimation/BigCityGreens Tilly Green]] appears onscreen with black hair and in flashbacks with red, because [[spoiler:she's a natural redhead, but is actually deceased. 284* Chloe Cerise in ''Fanfic/InfinityTrainBlossomingTrail'' dyes part of her hair blue mid-way into Act 2, which is after she decides to have an ImportantHaircut and work on herself to go back home.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Literature]]
* Mrs. Levy in ''Literature/AConfederacyOfDunces'' has dyed her hair platinum-blonde for so long that even ''she'' forgot she was a natural brunette. (Mr. Levy didn't, though, oddly.)
* A subtle example in ''Literature/InCryptid'': Antimony has naturally dark hair, but mentions adding henna highlights several times.
* A novelization written by Creator/TakeshiShudo called ''Literature/PocketMonstersTheAnimation'' states that Misty's sisters wear wigs. While this could explain [[HollywoodGenetics their different hair colors]], like most in the book it has no [[CanonDiscontinuity canon evidence]] in ''Anime/PokemonTheSeries'' itself.
* ''Literature/SheIsTheOne'': Rhona "Queen" Daniels parts her hair down the middle, dyes each half a different color, changes colors monthly, and never repeats combinations. It's implied she does this partly to distract from her large boobs.
* Commander Christine Vale in the ''Literature/StarTrekATimeTo'' and ''Literature/StarTrekTitan'' novels has dyed her hair multiple colours. There is no indication in the books as to what her original hair colour was.
* Myri Antilles, spy and Wraith agent from ''Franchise/StarWarsLegends'', takes this to a typically Corellian extreme. In her introductory scenes in the ''Legacy of the Force'' series, she casually mentions that she's dyed her hair seven times in the past week. Not because she's spying on anyone (although she's no stranger to that), just on a whim. In ''Mercy Kill'', she jokes that "nature hasn't touched my hair in ''years''".

[[folder:Live-Action TV]]
* Dottie Underwood of ''Series/AgentCarter'' is blonde in the first season, but has changed her hair brown by the second. Hilariously enough her actress Creator/BridgetRegan is a natural redhead.
* Mrs Slocombe of ''Series/AreYouBeingServed'' has a different, unnatural hair colour every episode. It can be strange to see Creator/MollieSugden in interviews with her normal brown (or grey) hair.
* ''Series/{{Arrow}}''
** Felicity Smoak has admitted her distinctive blonde is dyed several times, and is seen with dark hair in a flashback to her college years.
** Deviating from the comics, Dinah Laurel Lance starts out brunette, but dyes her hair blonde once she takes up her Black Canary mantle. This also applies to her Earth-2 counterpart, Black Siren, who is initially seen with brown hair, but dyes her hair blonde when she impersonates Black Canary and is mostly seen with that color thereafter, though she briefly dyes it black while working under Ricardo Diaz. Strangely, her sister, Sara, has natural blonde hair, mainly because [[Creator/CaityLotz her actress]] is also a natural blonde. (In the pilot, Sara was a brunette like Laurel, as [[ThePeteBest she was portrayed by a different actress]]).
* ''Series/{{Charmed|1998}}'':
** Paige (played by Creator/RoseMcGowan mentioned above). She was black-haired in season 4, redhead in season 5 [[note]]though this was an accident - a potion blew up on her and turned it red[[/note]], strawberry blonde in season 6 and brunette for the last two seasons.
** Phoebe additionally changed her hair colour a lot on the show. She starts off with light brown hair (though when herself as a child makes an appearance she has dark hair so presumably this is dyed too), dyes her hair blonde in season 3 and actually cycles through six different hair colours in the fourth season. She sticks with a dark brown colour for the rest of the series and alludes to dyeing her hair regularly in a season 7 episode.
** Prue had dyed her hair blonde in a season 2 episode showing a BadFuture.
* Claire Underwood in ''Series/HouseOfCardsUS'' actually is a brunette, but dyed it blonde some time prior to the start of the show. She reverts to her natural color for a couple episodes in Season 3 when she's reconciling with Frank after a falling out in Chapter 32.
* Lucy from ''Series/ILoveLucy'' is explicitly stated to have dyed her hair red.
* A scene from ''Series/MarriedWithChildren'' where Peggy and Kelly are bonding. Peggy tells the story of buying Kelly her first bottle of hair dye at the age of five. They're laughing nostalgically, when Kelly asks Peg her natural hair colour. "I don't know," Peg says. "What's yours?" And Kelly replies "I don't know."
* ''Series/{{Scrubs}}'':
** The Janitor's girlfriend Lady is brunette but claims she is a natural redhead.
** Elliott also dyes her naturally dark blonde hair to a bleached blonde in season 3 and keeps it that way for the remainder of the series.
* In the first series in ''Franchise/StarTrek'', James T. Kirk generally had brown hair, but in the later films, it turned black. In the Kelvin Timeline films, Kirk is blonde for the first two, but had visible dark roots, and it started turning darker in ''Beyond''. Chris Pine is a natural brunette, as is William Shatner, though Shatner ''did'' wear a toupee in his later film appearances.
* Claudia Donovan in ''Series/Warehouse13'' has a skunk stripe which is a different colour every episode.

[[folder:Roleplay]]
* Zia from ''Roleplay/DawnOfANewAgeOldportBlues'' dyes her hair purple, and has done so for so long that no-one besides her {{childhood friend}}s remember what her natural hair colour is.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Toys]]
* Franchise/{{Barbie}} and her sisters all have naturally blonde hair, but her (currently) third youngest sister, Skipper, has had her hair dyed black with purple highlights for several years now.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Video Games]]
* Miki Hoshii from ''VideoGame/TheIdolMaster'' games is depicted as a blond in around 90% of the official art and a majority of the fan-arts, but she is naturally brown-haired. It is a great plot point in her alternate route in the first game, but [[RetCon no mentions of this]] [[AlternateUniverse is made in the second game]].
* ''VideoGame/LifeIsStrange'':
** Chloe's hair is dyed bright blue. Old photographs show it's naturally the same shade of blonde as her mother Joyce's. [[spoiler:In the Alternate Universe of Episode 4, she never dyed it, but dialogue and her screen name imply she wants to.]]
** In the final episode of Life is Strange 2, Sean can find a photograph of [[spoiler:Chloe if she survived the end of the original game, which reveals she dyed her hair green between the events of the two games.]]
** Alyssa has her hair dyed purple. Her darker roots imply she also bleached it beforehand.
* ''Franchise/{{Persona}}'':
** Kanji from ''VideoGame/Persona4'' is near indistinguishable without his bleached blond hair. His natural color is black.
** Ryuji from ''VideoGame/Persona5'' dyes his hair blonde, and is a natural black as well. Supplementary material also states that Futaba dyed her hair orange.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Visual Novels]]
* Youhei from ''VisualNovel/{{Clannad}}'' has black hair but is bleached blond for most of the series. He doesn't stand out amongst the purple and green haired characters, so most fans don't even know this until they see him as an adult.
* [[spoiler:Misha]] from ''VisualNovel/KatawaShoujo'' dyes her hair [[spoiler:pink]]. She's naturally a brunette.
* In ''VisualNovel/ZeroTimeDilemma'', [[spoiler:it's revealed Phi dyes her hair [[MysticalWhiteHair white]] because she's ashamed of her natural hair color, red. It turns out to be a pivotal point in determining her true identity.]]
* ''VisualNovel/PhoenixWrightAceAttorneyDualDestinies'': Florent L'Belle has a different hair color every time he appears. [[spoiler: It's to hide his "ugly" white hair, and ends up being a key plot point against him.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Webcomics]]
* Shay from ''Webcomic/BetweenTheLines2006'' bleaches her hair. As an adult her hair is its natural black with pink bangs.
* Susan in ''Webcomic/ElGoonishShive'' dyes her blonde hair dark blue[[labelnote:*]]represented by black with blue highlights in color strips[[/labelnote]] to distance herself from [[spoiler:her father's mistress]]. Later, her hair turns that color permanently [[spoiler:due to her awakening]] at least partially because it has become part of her identity.
* Charlie and Tom from ''Webcomic/KhaosKomix'' are a blonde and raven respectively but dyed their hair green and red/orange [[spoiler:after being the victims of a transphobic attack in high school]]. When Charlie first sees the color Tom picks she's dismayed because they will clash, but Tom insists they'll be like Tic-Tacs.
* It's used somewhat as a trope in ''Webcomic/{{Lookism}}'' where the students of the Beauty department of the HighSchool are allowed to do this. The only male dyed his purple with blue tips, a woman one see has yellow with red tips.
* ''Webcomic/SlightlyDamned'': Angels have naturally [[MysticalWhiteHair white hair]] but have laws in place that make dye their hair the same color as their element (red for [[PlayingWithFire fire]], blue for [[MakingASplash water]], yellow for [[DishingOutDirt earth]] and green for [[BlowYouAway wind]]), the way it's applied is also different depending on gender, they all have bangs in front of their ears that are dyed while the rest is left it's natural white if male, if female most of her hair is dyed while the bangs are left white.[[note]] According to WordOfGod non-binary angels have their hair dyed completely with no white showing.[[/note]]
* Izzy's hair in ''Webcomic/EnnuiGo'' is a blonde, but she dyes it pink. The only times her natural hair color is seen are during flashbacks to her childhood and the arc where she was trapped on a desereted island. It acts as a visual indicator to tell her apart from her identical twin sister Adelie (who leaves it blonde) and her clone Kirsty (who just dyes the tips).
* Ayzee from ''Webcomic/MoringMarkTOHComics'' is a natural brunette like [[HomosexualReproduction both of her mothers]], but comics set during her school years show that she starts dying it a faded purple with pink highlights as a teenager. It's implied that she started doing it as an attempt to assert her individuality [[https://www.reddit.com/r/TheOwlHouse/comments/18gmhxi/yeah/ after the Collecter called her a carbon copy of Luz]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Web Original]]
* It's never stated in ''WebAnimation/BarbieLifeInTheDreamhouse'' that Skipper dyes her hair, however it's implied due to her being the token raven of her family. In the toys, Skipper was a blonde until she was given a redesign in the 2010s.
* A flashback in the final episode of ''WebAnimation/NekoSugarGirls'' reveals that [[spoiler:Raku's]] natural hair color is blue instead of [[spoiler:green]]. That is assuming the blue wasn't dyed as well.
* In ''Podcast/TheMagnusArchives'', [[HeroOfAnotherStory Gerard "Gerry" Keay]] is described as having badly dyed black hair in the many statements he appears in, with it being one of his defining characteristics along with being a goth.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Western Animation]]
* Francine Smith from ''WesternAnimation/AmericanDad'' is a natural brunette. [[note]](Or not -- [[PlotHole She's been shown as a child with blonde hair, so episodes have contradicted each other.]] But then, real children have their hair color change as they grow up.)[[/note]]
* ComicBook/HarleyQuinn once said she wasn't a natural blonde in a ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries'' episode, however it could have been a joke. DC always writes her as naturally blonde.
* Nina Harper in ''WesternAnimation/{{Braceface}}'' is portrayed with long red hair, but she's not actually a natural redhead. In fact, according to some flashbacks to when she and her [[FormerFriendOfAlphaBitch ex-BFF,]] [[HairOfGoldHeartOfGold Sharon Spitz]] (the show's titular "Braceface"), were little kids, Nina's natural hair color is actually brown.
* Robbie from ''WesternAnimation/GravityFalls'' naturally has medium brown hair but dyed it black in his teens.
* Almost everyone in ''WesternAnimation/{{Jem}}'' naturally has hair colors like blue and pink however multiple colors at once seems to be impossible. Pictures show Danse with less colors than she has currently.
* Ginger in ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'' is the only character to have dyed hair--specifically, it's dyed a bright red.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse'': Possibly in the case of Lincoln Loud's {{Goth}} sister, Lucy, who has black hair while their parents and the rest of their sisters have either blonde like their mom or brown hair like their dad (Lincoln has white hair, which he apparently inherited from his maternal grandfather). It's never explained how Lucy has black hair (much like how it's never truly explained why Lincoln has white hair), but assuming that it's her natural hair color, she may have inherited it from her great-grandmother, Harriet (who, as shown in pictures, is the spitting image of Lucy).
* In ''WesternAnimation/MoralOrel'', it's revealed that [[spoiler:Miss Sculptham and Nurse Bendy]] dyed their hair the other's natural color, [[spoiler:blonde and black]] respectively, although the two characters are not connected. The former because [[spoiler:she was obsessed with a rapist who disliked blondes]]. The latter was probably because [[spoiler:revealing that she had black hair makes her look like her son Joe]].
* In ''Series/MyFamilyAndMe'' Tegan Westbrook's hair is dyed hot pink, but she won't reveal her natural hair color to anyone.
* The "Ponyville Confidential" episode of ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' reveals that the Mayor of Ponyville dyes her hair grey. It's actually [[spoiler:a vivid pink.]] Confirming this is a flashback in Season 7 that shows pink is her natural colour.
* Amity from ''WesternAnimation/TheOwlHouse'' has naturally brown hair but dyes it green. WordOfGod says that she was forced to do so by [[ControlFreak her mother]] so she'd be color coordinated with her naturally green haired older siblings. [[spoiler:Part way though season 2, she starts dyeing it lavender instead as an act of independence and rebellion against her mother]]. Lilith is also confirmed by WordOfGod to both straighten and dye her hair indigo and in order to make herself appear more intimidating when she first joined the Emperor's Coven. Her real hair color is a very frizzy orange. [[spoiler:She stops straightening her hair in the later half of season 2, and ceases coloring it by season 3 as a sign of embracing her true nerdy self rather than conform to a fascist regime that has brought her nothing but pain.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'': Marge claims in one episode her hair isn't really blue, alhough this is contradicted by several childhood flashbacks that show her with blue hair. Presumably she dyes it to cover up her greys -- which Homer confirms in an episode where he gets in trouble for gossiping about their personal lives.
* ''WesternAnimation/StarWarsRebels'': Sabine Wren dyes her hair various colours like blue, purple and turquoise, with the colours changing every season. Seeing her with her natural dark brown hair in [[Recap/StarWarsRebelsS3E02TheAntillesExtraction "The Antilles Extraction"]] is quite jarring.
* ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama'' has a few:
** As revealed in "Total Drama Drama Island", Lindsay is not a natural blonde. Judging from her eyebrows, we can assume her natural hair color is either black or dark brown.
** Geoff's song "Her Real Name isn't Blaineley" has Geoff calling Blaineley a fake blonde and later revealing she has black hairs on her toes.
** WordOfGod confirmed for several character such as Gwen (black hair with teal highlights), Zoey (red hair) and Sierra (purple hair) to have dyed hair. The real hair colour of the first two is stated to be brown, but in the case of Sierra, it's not mentioned. Considering her mother has black hair, it's likely for her to have as well.
** Duncan downplays this, as while he does have a bright green fauxhawk, he still has the rest of his hair undyed, with his natural color being black.
* In the first season of ''WesternAnimation/XiaolinShowdown'', Kimiko often dyes her hair in a rainbow of colours whenever the monks go in their mission and changes back to her black hair when they get back to the temple. She stops dyeing her hair post season 1, but she continues to wear a different outfit and change her hairstyle in every episode.
