-->-- ''Series/MontyPythonsFlyingCircus''

When a food is said to be loathed by someone to the point of {{characterization|Tropes}}. It's basically the InvertedTrope of TrademarkFavoriteFood.

Not to be confused with IDoNotLikeGreenEggsAndHam, which is about someone refusing something (not necessarily food) that they assume they'd dislike. Also [[JustForFun/IThoughtItMeant has nothing to do with junk e-mail (which many of us quite justifiably despise)]].[[note]]The use of "spam" to describe junk e-mail is actually indirectly derived from the Creator/MontyPython sketch, though the term had been in use among amateur radio operators for undesired communications beforehand.[[/note]]

Sometimes these will fall under StockYuck. Otherwise, expect something either so universally loved that [[TheComplainerIsAlwaysWrong no-one understands their problem]], or so rarely encountered that you wonder how they manage to build up such a hatred of it. A common hated food is [[EveryoneHatesFruitCakes fruit cake.]]

Sometimes, an ExtremeOmnivore will have just that one item they don't like, and this trope will be played for laughs. In this case, it's usually something very mundane, so that while a character might be willing to eat disgusting and probably poisonous mixtures, they absolutely refuse to eat something everyone else enjoys.

(Ironically, although Spam is an acquired taste for most people, it still has its fans and is very popular in much of the Pacific, particularly UsefulNotes/{{Hawaii}} and UsefulNotes/SouthKorea.)

See also PickyEater, KidsHateVegetables, BizarreTasteInFood, and OnlyOneWhoLikesSpam. May result in requests to HoldTheUnsolicitedIngredient. Related is EnmityWithAnObject.

Has nothing to do with hating {{Spammer}}s, BeamSpam or GrenadeSpam.

!!Examples
[[foldercontrol]]
[[folder:Anime & Manga]]
* ''Manga/The100GirlfriendsWhoReallyReallyReallyReallyReallyLoveYou'': Kurumi doesn’t crave walnuts because her food obsession used to trigger so much from hearing her own name, which is Japanese for "walnut". This is downplayed, since she still likes them, she’s just gotten tired of eating them so much.
* ''Manga/CaseClosed'':
** On at least one occasion, a victim's intense dislike of eggs (he was allergic to them) was used against him in the murder method.
** A heavy smoker who hates [[RealMenHateSugar chocolate and any sweet food]] was killed by having his coffee laced with poison, with the only available antidote being "placed" in sweet layer cake.
* ''Manga/ChainsawMan'': Power hates vegetables and starts gagging if she even comes into contact with them.
* In ''Manga/CoffeeAndCat'', Kon has a distaste for bitter foods in general due to his grandfather forcing him to drink cup after cup of bitter tea and nothing else. Because of this, he nonchalantly adds several cubes of sugar and a load of milk to Hyoma's coffee, [[InnocentlyInsensitive accidentally enraging him in the process]]. In time, Kon grows to appreciate Hyoma's coffee despite his dislike of bitter things, calling it delicious as he learns more about the specifics of coffeemaking.
* ''Manga/CrayonShinChan'': Shin-chan hates green peppers. Possibly the reason why he always asks older girls if they like them is to allow him to keep hitting on them.
* In ''Anime/CyberpunkEdgerunners'', David Martinez has a noted dislike of carbonated beverages. [[spoiler:This becomes HilariousInHindsight in ''VideoGame/Cyberpunk2077'', where David has a drink named after him in the Afterlife bar. One of said drink's ingredients? [=NiCola=], a carbonated beverage.]]
* In ''Manga/DeliciousInDungeon'', Marcille blanches at the thought of eating anything made from monsters. Fortunately for her, one of their group is a SupremeChef who can make those same monsters taste delicious. [[spoiler:Later on, Izutsumi picks out all the mushrooms from her meal and dumps them on the ground, much to Senshi's anger.]]
* ''Anime/DeliciousPartyPrettyCure'': Kokone has an outright phobia of green peppers, as does Kome-Kome. However, the two are convinced to try them again, and they enjoy them.
* Dante from the ''VideoGame/DevilMayCry'' series has pizza as his TrademarkFavoriteFood. But ''Anime/DevilMayCryTheAnimatedSeries'' clarifies that he hates black olives as a topping. Whenever he orders a pizza, he always specifies "no olives".
* [[CuteBruiser Wendy Marvell]], the young Sky Dragon Slayer from the titular guild in ''Manga/FairyTail'', is so sensitive to the sour taste of umeboshi (pickled plums) that merely watching somebody else eat them is torture. [[spoiler:[[PlayedForLaughs Gray and Loke defeat her in the S-Class exam by this means]] in the Tenrou Island arc.]] Also, Bisca Mulan deeply dislikes sweet foods.
* In ''Anime/FreshPrettyCure'', Love's least favourite food is carrots. In Episode 6, her mother has to scold her into eating them.
* Kyo from ''Manga/FruitsBasket'' hates leeks, onions, and miso. His InvoluntaryShapeshifter [[JustifiedTrope form is a cat]], who can get sick and die from eating these foods.
* Edward Elric from ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'' [[EnmityWithAnObject really, really hates milk]]. Even when he's told drinking milk would [[TheNapoleon help him grow up]]. [[BerserkButton ESPECIALLY]] so.
* ''Franchise/{{Gundam}}'':
** ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam0083StardustMemory'': Kou Uraki and carrots. And it gets exaggerated in ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWars''. In a meta-example, the same goes for [[Creator/RyoHorikawa his Japanese voice actor]].
** In most ''Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam'' fan works, Paptimus Scirocco loathes watermelon bars. [[spoiler: It reminds him of how he was defeated.]]
* BT from ''Anime/DotHackSign'' named her character based on the removal of this from her favorite food. Here's a hint. It's not Bacon and it's not Tomatoes. Mimiru points out it has no taste upon being informed of this which leaves her bewildered as to why BT dislikes it.
* ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'':
** ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureStardustCrusaders Stardust Crusaders]]'': Joseph enjoys drinking coffee, but he finds Japanese coffee tastes terrible. It may be a case of not wanting to admit he likes it though, because after he starts to go senile, he loves it. Not to mention that the "Japanese coffee" he derided turned out to actually be American coffee.
** ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureDiamondIsUnbreakable Diamond is Unbreakable]]'': Okuyasu doesn't like spicy food, he cites Vermont Curry's mild flavour as being as hot as he can stand. This means he initially has trouble with a pasta dish due to its spiciness.
** ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureGoldenWind Golden Wind]]'': When Formaggio makes fun of him for drinking milk instead of espresso, Pesci protests that he doesn't like espresso since it makes his stomach hurt.
** ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureStoneOcean Stone Ocean]]'': Enrico Pucci mentions in a conversation with Donatello Versus that he's allergic to shellfish.
** ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureJoJolion JoJolion]]'': Josuke sings a little song about how he likes large fries, but not fried chicken.
* According to Chapter 171 of ''Manga/KaguyaSamaLoveIsWar'', Fujiwara doesn't like tomatoes. Oddly, this didn't keep her from attending La Tomatina (the largest tomato fight on the planet) over summer break.
* Akisame Koetsuji of ''Manga/KenichiTheMightiestDisciple'' loathes bell peppers to the point that they're occasionally used as a threat for dinner if he doesn't do something or other. He ''always'' complies.
* Yang Wen-li in ''Literature/LegendOfTheGalacticHeroes'' dislikes coffee very much, to the point that during the prequels when he was choking over some food and was saved by a cup of coffee offered by his future adjutant [[spoiler: and wife]] Frederica Greenhill, the first thing he said was "I hate coffee. I wish you'd given me tea instead."
* ''Literature/LoveChunibyoAndOtherDelusions'':
** Sanae Dekomori like Ed Elric above, is short and hates milk -- or dairy products in general, thinking it is being warm, slimy and stinky.
** Rikka dislikes tomatoes.
* Kanako Urashima in ''Manga/LoveHina'' doesn't like sweets at all. Naturally, she was adopted into a family of confectioners, and she crushes on her adopted brother, who is an expert even amongst the family at them.
* Vivio initially dislikes green peppers in ''Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaStrikers''. [[spoiler:Nanoha even uses it as part of her ClonesArePeopleToo speech]]. According to ''Sound Stage M3'', though, she got over it by the end of it.
* ''Manga/MysteriousJoker'': The titular character hates dipping sauce.
* Most of the cast of ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'' has a food they dislike, with the exception of Lee and Guy, who refuse to dislike any kind of food. Naruto in particular hates vegetables, and a brief flashback shows Kakashi appearing in his window to offer him some vegetables with his ramen.
* ''Manga/OnePiece'':
** In an SBS question, a fan asked Oda what each crew member's least favorite food was. Jinbe's was revealed later.
*** Monkey D. Luffy: A certain shop's cherry pie
*** [[RealMenHateSugar Roronoa Zoro: Chocolate (It's too sweet)]]
*** Nami: Orangette (Prefers actual fruit)
*** Usopp: Mushrooms (Got sick once)
*** Sanji: Konjac (Not nutritious)
*** Tony Tony Chopper: All things spicy (It's not sweet)
*** Nico Robin: Gum (Can't swallow it)
*** Franky: Marshmallow (It's not hard)
*** Brook: Lemon (Can't make a sour face)
*** Jinbe: Parfait (It's hard to eat)
** Luffy also really doesn't care for mochi at all, which quickly becomes problematic [[spoiler:when he fights Katakuri, whose power is Logia-tier mochi manipulation; he can't take full advantage of the power's LogicalWeakness of edibility (like he had against Cracker, whose biscuits were very much to his liking) in good part because he hates the stuff]].
** For a non-Strawhat example, when Sanji offers to make sandwiches for breakfast, Trafalgar Law (who is traveling with the crew as part of an EnemyMine situation) casually admits that he doesn't like bread. Law then freaks out, realizing that he's being drawn into the Straw Hat's antics.
** Devil Fruit is a universal StockYuck; while nobody ever eats more than one in their lives (well, no one has and lived) they are known to taste absolutely horrid. Those who eat them feel as thought they've been poisoned, which they ''have'' seeing as the powers they bestow are technically curses.
* ''Anime/PokemonTheSeries'': Misty loathes carrots and peppers.
* ''Anime/PrettyCure'':
** ''Anime/FreshPrettyCure'': Love dislikes carrots, and usually has to be coerced into eating them.
** ''Anime/DokiDokiPrecure'': One episode mentions that both Ai-chan and [[spoiler:Aguri]] dislike carrots, and the other girls try to show them how tasty they can be.
** ''Anime/HappinessChargePrettyCure'': One episode has Hime get grossed out by a fish dish.
** ''Anime/HugttoPrettyCure'': After getting passed up as the lead for a vegetable commercial and instead being cast as an extra in a leek costume, Ranze developed a distaste for leek.
** ''Anime/DeliciousPartyPrettyCure'': Kokone dislikes green peppers, because they're too bitter. As one of the series' themes is having a varied diet, the other Cures help her overcome this dislike.
** ''Anime/HirogaruSkyPrettyCure'': Downplayed with Ageha. She doesn't like green peppers ''plain''; she'll happily eat them with sauce.
* ''Manga/TheQuintessentialQuintuplets'': The titular sisters all have their least favorite foods listed on their profiles. [[MiddleChildSyndrome Miku]] is the only one for whom this poses a problem in the story, since she doesn't like chocolates, but as Valentine's Day approaches she wants to make some for Fuutarou and make sure he finds them tasty.
* ''Anime/SailorMoon'': Each of the Sailor Senshi have a least favorite food listed in their profile. Usagi's is, [[MeaningfulName ironically]], carrots, her KidFromTheFuture Chibiusa shares this dislike, Ami doesn’t like Hamachi fish, Rei hates canned asparagus, Makoto is an Averted case as she loves all foods, Minako dislikes Shiitake mushrooms, Setsuna despises eggplants, Haruka’s not fond of natto soybeans, Michiru isn’t fond of Kikukage mushrooms and Hotaru doesn’t like milk.
* In ''Manga/SpyXFamily'', Anya admits she thinks carrots are gross when telling her adoptive father Loid more about herself. [[note]]Carrots are a StockYuck for children in Japan.[[/note]]
* ''Anime/TenchiMuyo'':
** Tenchi apparently hates miso soup. At least in the third movie.
** In the manga, Ayeka has an aversion to carrots to go along with her general dislike of Ryo-Ohki. She gets over it and is quickly pounced by Sasami (who makes a very good carrot cake), who wants her to try more.
* ''Manga/WorldsEndHaremFantasia'': Arc ''hates'' liver, but ends up having to eat it once a week as a PowerUpFood while preparing for the Macht ritual.
* ''Anime/YuGiOhZEXAL'': Yuma Tsukumo doesn't like tomatoes. In Episode 30, he is roped into a duel where each turn, the player has to randomly pull a vegetable from a basket and eat it to be allowed to attack. Yuma keeps pulling several variations on tomatoes and refuses to eat them, so he can't attack and is at a disadvantage. Eventually, Astral and Kotori convince him he has no choice but to eat one to win. He eats a tomato and realizes it is actually pretty good, then manages to win.

[[folder:Comic Books]]
* During the Silver Age, DC used their heroes in advertisements for Hostess Fruit Pies. One had ComicBook/TheJoker reveal he does not like them. Everyone else considers this proof that Joker really is insane.
* ''ComicBook/BatmanBeyond'': At the conclusion of ''Batman Beyond 2.0'', Bruce Wayne reveals that he hates apple pie.
* A ''WesternAnimation/CBBears'' comic book story (Marvel Comics) had Bump Bear with an utter dislike for cole slaw. This was based on story writer Mark Evanier's similar dislike of cole slaw.
* [[ManiacMonkeys Gorilla Grodd]] of ''Franchise/TheFlash'' hates bananas. It's [[BerserkButton a bad idea]] to try and offer him one (a trait that carries over into most adaptations).
** Bart Allen, better known as ComicBook/{{Impulse}} is known for being a BigEater due to his hyper-accelerated metabolism caused by the SuperSpeed he inherited from his grandfather, the second Flash. However, the one thing Bart will not ever eat is raw fish, and practically begs to eat anything else when it's offered to him.
* ''{{ComicBook/Laika}}'': Mukha the dog will eat anything except her specially prepared gel food. This works in her favor, as she is not chosen to continue the Sputnik program because of that, and thus survives. (In real life, some sources say Mukha actually was not chosen because she had slightly crooked paws, which were not considered photogenic.)
* ''ComicBook/SpiderMan'': Peter Parker may have loved his Aunt May's wheatcakes, but according to Uncle Ben, he didn't like her meatloaf at all. Another comic said that he ''couldn't stand'' corn fritters, something else she often made, but he never told her.
** Aunt May uses this as a BluffTheImposter in a ''ComicBook/{{Civil War|2006}}''-era comic, when The Chameleon was impersonating Peter. The real Peter apparently hated oatmeal raisin cookies ("Yes, even mine."), which Chameleon-Peter accepted without hesitation and ate with relish. (These particular cookies were also laced with sedatives.)
* ''ComicBook/SpiderManAndBatmanDisorderedMinds'' shows Batman having a long-lasting disdain for finger sandwiches, going back to childhood where he recounts trying to flush them down a toilet that Alfred spent three days unclogging.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Comic Strips]]
* The titular character of ''ComicStrip/BigNate'' really hates egg salad. He's not a fan of any of the healthy snacks his father ([[{{Hypocrite}} who himself never eats any of it]]) tries to get him to eat, either.
* ''ComicStrip/DennisTheMenaceUS'' hates vegetables and milk -- But not things ''made from milk'', like ice cream or chocolate.
* In one ''ComicStrip/ForBetterOrForWorse'' comic, Elly tries to feed Farley some scraps leftover from dinner. John tells her that he won't eat the peas. Elly says there's no way he could possibly know that they're in there, and proceeds to mix the food together in Farley's bowl. Sure enough, Farley ate the food, while somehow managing to spit out every single pea in the process.
* ComicStrip/{{Garfield}}, mostly due to bad cooking, holds a special disgust for snails, fruitcake, and ''raisins''.[[note]]While this was just because of Jim Davis' personal dislike of them, [[AccidentallyCorrectWriting grapes and raisins cause kidney failure in cats very rapidly -- they're one of the most deadly food items a cat could eat]].[[/note]] Except, of course to mess with Jon's mind ("A Vacation from His Senses"). The fact that it worked says something. Shredded coconut -- he says it resembles "tiny albino [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes spiders]]." Also Spinach: "It looks bad, it tastes bad, it smells bad". (Turns bowl over, spinach splats on table) "It even SOUNDS bad." And, relevant because he's a cat, he won't eat mice (birds and fish, however, are fair game.)
* There is ComicStrip/{{Mafalda}} and her ''legendary'' hatred of soup.
* Charlie Brown of ''ComicStrip/{{Peanuts}}'' hates coconut -- chocolates with coconut centers, in particular. So does Snoopy. And Linus. This is because Charles Schulz himself [[AuthorAppeal didn't like coconut]].
* Apparently, SPAM was so common (and disliked) in US military rations during World War II that it led to [[http://sadsack.org/Spam.gif this comic strip in US military newspapers of the time.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Fan Works]]
* In ''Fanfic/TheChangelingSequence'', Damian Wayne decided he hated chocolate after getting sick from eating too much M&Ms.
* In ''Fanfic/ChrysalisVisitsTheHague'', the lawyer protagonist Estermann evades coffee like the plague.
* There is a ''TabletopGame/TheDarkEye'' fanfic in which the protagonist's love interest doesn't like ham. Rhymes nicely with spam, and foreshadows an important plot point [[spoiler:namely, that the character in question is a necromancer who is deathly afraid of the dead. Ham reminds him of dead bodies]].
* In ''WebVideo/DragonBallZAbridged'', Goku will [[ExtremeOmnivore eat just about anything]]: giant fish, baby dragons, [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking pineapple on pizza and burgers]]... but he won't eat grapes or anything grape-flavored. That boy can't handle his grapes.
* In ''Fanfic/EverydayCrazinessInPontypandy'', Gabby dislikes poultry and red meats, and prefers fish, fruits, and vegetables. "Runaway Raft" mentions that she outright switched to a pescatarian diet, whihc excludes the consumption of non-seafood meats.
* PlayedForLaughs in the ''WebVideo/GrittyReboots'' movie trailer for ''Harvest Moon: Back To Nature''. Karen hates eggs so much that when given one by Pete she screams "I hate eggs!" and throws it on the ground. She does the same thing when given milk.
* ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11536013/3/Hyperemesis-gravidarum Hyperemesis Gravidarum]]'': Klatchian Migratory Bog Truffles are a gourmet foodstuff on the Literature/{{Discworld}}. They are so prized by gourmets that they will pay vast sums for a meal where the chef has ensured there is no trace of bog truffles in it whatsoever. Johanna Smith-Rhodes, recently married Assassin, is happy for this state of affairs to continue with regard to her own diet. Until she gets pregnant and develops an inconvenient craving. For the foul-tasting Klatchian Migratory Bog Truffle. She discovers her taste buds have been out-voted by her foetus.
* In ''Fanfic/IfThemsTheRules'' Tom Riddle hates vanilla.
* In the ''Series/{{House}}'' fanfic ''Inferno'' Cuddy doesn't like coconut.
* ''Fanfic/InfinityTrainBlossomingTrail'': Chloe Cerise has a dislike for curry because it's a big reminder of how she and Goh used to eat it in the past. When her by-the-books curry for Home Economics class is considered unsatisfactory by the teacher that, and Mr. Mime cooking curries under Ash and Goh's request, contributes to her RageBreakingPoint. In Arc 2, when Chloe is at a Curry Car, it's revealed that she doesn't hate curry; it's more that she hates how she can never spend time with Goh after he moved on to Mew and essentially forgot about her.
* Kuyou Suou in ''Fanfic/KyonBigDamnHero'' dislikes noodles since she almost choked in them.
* ''Fanfic/HowFriendshipAccidentallySavedMagicalBritain'': Tom despises pickled foods, a trait he shares with the Original Tom Riddle, who would go on page-long rants about them writing in the Diary. When [[spoiler:the twins confront Tom about being Voldemort]], Tom muses to himself about the idiom of "being in a pickle" and decides that pickles, being culinary abominations, are a perfect way to describe difficult situations.
* In ''Series/TheWorstWitch'' fanfiction ''[[https://misshecatehardbroom.tumblr.com/tagged/thread%3Akitty Kitty]]'', Pippa Pentangle and Hecate Hardbroom don't like cupcakes, and Miss Hardbroom doesn't like doughnuts either.
** In ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/8325352/1/PMS-Potions PMS Potions]]'', Miss Hardbroom doesn't like pizza.
* In ''Fanfic/LadyLuckMiraculousLadybug'', Chloé hates soup.
* In ''Fanfic/LeaveForMendeleiev'', Adrien isn't a fan of cheese. Notably used to highlight his [[ItsAllAboutMe self-absorbed attitude]]; since Adrien himself dislikes it, he doesn't understand why or how ''anybody else'' could possibly enjoy it, and stubbornly tells Plagg (who [[TrademarkFavoriteFood loves it, especially Camembert]]) that it's gross. Frequently while glossing over any other points his kwami is trying to make. This underscores his general refusal to consider anybody else's point of view or [[NoListeningSkills listen to anyone]] who isn't telling him what he wants to hear.
* In ''Fanfic/LittleKittyOnARoof'', Chat Blanc does not like cheese. However, he does not tell Marinette this when she asks if there are any foods he dislikes, because he knows that if he does, she will stop giving him cheese danishes, and cheese danishes from the Dupain-Cheng bakery are the one exception to his dislike of cheese.
* ''[[http://archiveofourown.org/works/1318624/chapters/2788954 A Not So Ordinary Day]]'':
-->'''Mad-Eye Moody:''' Lass, I'd eat tomato soup if [[SupremeChef Sirius made it]] and I cannot begin to describe how much I hate tomato soup.
* In ''[[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2571676/55/Not-Your-Usual-Veela-Mate Not Your Usual Veela Mate]]'' after Dumbledore attempts to excuse a Slytherin student who cast the Cruciatus Curse on Harry, a portrait of Godric Gryffindor orders the elves to serve him all of his least favorite foods: liver, haggis, bubble and squeak, kippers and boiled cabbage.
* In ''Fanfic/OfQuirksAndMagic'', Izuku abhors the taste of Dr. Strange's [[https://www.yowangdu.com/tibetan-food/butter-tea.html Tibetan butter tea]], to the point that Strange recommends Inko pour it down her son's throat if she ever needs to wake him from a trance.
* Charlotte in the ''Making Fiends'' fic ''Fanfic/PaintItGreenBlueBlack'' hates strawberries. The red subconsciously reminds her of [[spoiler:blood. She has RepressedMemories of her parents murder]].
* ''Fanfic/PrincessCelestiaHatesTea''. Title says it all. Even after drinking well brewed tea for over a thousand years, Celestia still can't stand it. HilarityEnsues when Celestia confesses this since everypony "knows" that tea is her TrademarkFavoriteFood.
* ''Fanfic/RainbowDoubleDashsLunaverse:'' Cadence hates peas. So much so that when she was made Princess, her first thought was to have all pea farms in Cavallia destroyed. Then, after a moment, she decided this was unfair to all the pea-farmers, and decided at most she just wouldn't eat any ever again.
* Zuko is okay with most Water tribe foods in ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/5942075/18/Reluctant-Hero Reluctant Hero]]''...except stewed sea prunes.
* ''Fanfic/RubyPair'': Gaz has hated pork ever since the events of "[[Recap/InvaderZimS2E8GazTasterOfPork Gaz, Taster of Pork]]". So much so that in "Beefus Megabombus", when the pirate bees attack the Membrane house using meat products and hit her in the mouth with a sausage, that one little taste of pork instantly enrages her enough that she goes on a RoaringRampageOfRevenge against the offending aliens.
-->'''Gaz''': ''(with FireballEyeballs)'' You. Made me. Taste ''pork''. Prepare to enter a nightmare world!
* In ''Fanfic/RugratsAndTheGrayPlague'', Tommy Pickles doesn't like grape juice.
* In ''[[http://archiveofourown.org/works/8184311/chapters/18750953 Secrets]]'' Draco's baby daughter Victoria hates any kind of potatoes.
* ''Fanfic/SisterFloriana'': Chapter 20, "[[https://www.wattpad.com/949263642-sister-floriana-the-veggies The Veggies]]", reveals that Sister Diana used to have a keen dislike for tomatoes.
* Subverted in ''Fanfic/SpeciesIdentityDisorder''. Ruby hates tuna fish, not tuna as a food. She had a traumatic encounter with a fish as a child.
* In the ''Fanfic/TriptychContinuum'', Pinkie Pie is established as hating lemons, or at least lemon-flavored pastry. She also really dislikes a strong flavor of vanilla.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Films -- Animation]]
* Dr. Sweet from ''WesternAnimation/AtlantisTheLostEmpire'' admits in his [[MotorMouth long ramblings to Milo]] that he hates fish; He hates the taste, the smell, and all the little bones inside. He seems okay with crustaceans though, as he shows zero hesitation in digging into the bizarre animals the Atlantians serve that are vaguely crustacean.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheBadGuys2022'', among the many reasons Mr. Snake gives for being a BirthdayHater, he admits he doesn't like cake despite having a SweetTooth. When the Bad Guys throw him a small birthday party anyway, he encourages the rest of the team to eat the cake while he goes to the fridge to eat something else.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheEmperorsNewGroove'', Yzma ''never'' liked Kronk's spinach puffs. Ever! (This is actually his BerserkButton and makes him turn against her.) She also apparently doesn't like gravy. Kuzco doesn't like cheese on his potatoes, and he also is disgusted by the giant pill bugs (which are eaten through a straw) that are served at the GreasySpoon restaurant he goes to with Pacha, though Pacha finds them delicious, and Kuzco didn't actually try them and may have just been grossed out by the sight of it.
* In ''WesternAnimation/HowToTrainYourDragon'', dragons ''hate'' eel. To the point where Hiccup ''intimidates'' dragons by having an eel under his shirt. In ''WesternAnimation/DragonsRidersOfBerk'', a new species is introduced that actually likes eel. Apparently, Hiccup doesn't like eel much either.
* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Ratatouille}}'', Remy doesn't like the garbage that the other rats eat.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheSuperMarioBrosMovie'': Mario, strangely enough, does not like ''[[TemptingFate mushrooms]]'' of all things. This becomes a minor RunningGag when he's transported to the Mushroom Kingdom, and he's mildly exasperated by all the mushroom stuff, including the PowerUpFood, which is also mushrooms. At one point, he throws up after having to eat many of them in rapid succession.
* In ''WesternAnimation/WreckItRalph''. Ralph "never cared for chocolate" probably because it reminds him of the mud he's thrown into at the end of every game. PlayedWith when [[spoiler:he and Vanellope land in a chocolate puddle that saves their lives (well, his): "Chocolate! I LOVE CHOCOLATE!"]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Films -- Live-Action]]
* ''Film/{{Babe}}'': At the Hoggets' Christmas dinner, the granddaughter is heard exclaiming, "Yuck! Chicken!". Earlier, when they planned to serve roast pork (i.e. Babe himself), she exclaimed "I hate pork!" so she's probably a PickyEater in general (as well as a SpoiledBrat).
* ''Film/AChristmasStory'' has a scene where Randy complains about having meat loaf for dinner.
-->'''Randy''': Meat loaf, meat loaf, double beat loaf. I hate meat loaf.
* Bad guy Professor Hathaway in ''Film/RealGenius'' doesn't like popcorn. [[spoiler: Guess what they use to destroy his house.]]
* ''Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse'':
** It seems that Peter in ''Film/SpiderManHomecoming'' dislikes too much bread on his sandwiches. In an early scene in the bodega, Peter tells Mr. Delmar to smush down the sandwich. A later scene has him criticizing a different bodega for having too much bread in their sandwiches.
** ''Film/{{Captain Marvel|2019}}'', as part of a SomethingOnlyTheyWouldSay test to make sure ComicBook/NickFury is not a [[ShapeShifter Skrull]], [[Characters/MarvelComicsCarolDanvers Carol Danvers]] requests he reveal a detail about himself so odd no Skrull could ever make it up. Reluctantly, he admits that he cannot stand toast that is cut diagonally. Carol smirks, and then admits she already had enough information to believe him [[{{Troll}} and was just looking for a laugh.]]
* Spock does not like Italian food, according to ''Film/StarTrekIVTheVoyageHome'', but gets convinced by Kirk pretty quickly. There's a little FridgeBrilliance to this, as Vulcans typically follow a vegan diet and even in San Francisco, odds aren't great that an Italian restaurant in the 80s would serve a lot of vegan cuisine.
* Tallahassee, from ''Film/{{Zombieland}}'', can't stand coconut. It's not the taste, you understand... it's the texture.
* In the film ''Film/{{Freaked}}'', the Worm makes it clear that he hates macaroons when the other freaks cheer over Ricky finding some macaroons and brining them back. [[spoiler:He is understandably quite annoyed when it's revealed that the macaroons contained the mutation antidote and that he missed his chance to be returned to normal all because he dislikes macaroons.]]
* In ''Film/EscapeFromThePlanetOfTheApes'', Dr. Zira accidentally breaks her charade of being a normal, unintelligent chimpanzee by angrily rejecting a zookeeper's offer of a banana.
-->Because I ''loathe'' bananas!
** This was an inside joke; Zira's actress, Creator/KimHunter, [[ActorSharedBackground also loathed bananas]], and had endured a ton of banana jokes on the sets of the [[Film/PlanetOfTheApes1968 last]] [[Film/BeneathThePlanetOfTheApes two]] movies in the series.
* On the DVD of ''Series/{{Jackass}}: The Movie'', the supplemental materials feature a stunt called "Mustard Assault." It seems Rake Yohn hates mustard so much he is willing to go to any lengths to avoid contact with the condiment, and won't even tolerate its presence anywhere he happens to be. Brandon [=DiCamillo=] tells a story about how Rake went apeshit just from his dinner partner putting mustard on something. So of course Bam Margera sneaks up behind Rake and squirts two bottles of yellow mustard on his back. [[BerserkButton He does not take it well.]]
* Near the end of ''{{Film/The Menu}}'', Chef Slowik calls s'mores "the most offensive assault on the human palate".
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Literature]]
* Emma from ''Literature/BecauseOfTheRabbit'' dislikes pickles so much that when playing Two Truths and a Lie, she uses "I like pickles" as her lie. Unfortunately, one of her truths -- "I raised frogs in the bathroom" -- grosses out the other girls, so she pretends that's her lie so they won't think she's weird. As a result, she finds herself forced to eat pickles at lunch and pretend she likes them.
* In ''Literature/TheBelgariad'' by Creator/DavidEddings, ConMan and LoveableRogue Silk absolutely despises gruel. Even SupremeChef Polgara's gruel. Even if you call it "porridge". To the point that when he starts getting on her nerves more than usual, all Pol has to do to get him to straighten up is mention that she'll be making porridge for breakfast the next day.
* In the ''Literature/BlackBlade'' series, Lila and her mother were on an ice cream run when they ran into the attack on Devon, and Lila's mother later gets her to leave ahead of the Draconi's retaliation by sending her out for ice cream. Lila doesn't eat ice cream anymore because of the memories.
* ''Literature/CharlieAndTheChocolateFactory'': Willy Wonka ''really'' doesn't like breakfast cereal. He claims it's made of pencil shavings.
* ''Literature/ClariceBean'': the title character describes bread and butter pudding as her "worst utter pudding". The in-series fictional character Ruby Redfort hates tapioca pudding, to the point where she uses it as a code for "bad news".
* Constance from the ''Constance Verity'' Trilogy doesn't like coffee and gets really annoyed whenever someone insists that she has some.
* ''Literature/TheCrossesBoysCounselor:'' Mr. Bellamy hates yam, whole wheat bread, and milk in his coffee. The fact that his wife has prepared those as part of their breakfast one morning, despite well knowing that he hates those items, serves as an example of the growing disconnect between them.
* ''Literature/{{Daisy}}'': In "Eat Your Peas", it's revealed that Daisy doesn't like peas and her mom doesn't like Brussel's sprouts.
* ''Literature/DiaryOfAWimpyKid'': Greg doesn't like yams, beets, watercress salad,[[note]]a dish his grandpa makes that consists of green beans and watercress floating in a bowl of cold vinegar[[/note]] or a particular type of deviled eggs served at the Snellas' half-birthday party. He's also not fond of oatmeal raisin cookies, commenting, "I have a theory that oatmeal raisin cookies were invented as a practical joke and that they were never actually meant to be eaten," with an accompanying drawing of a Pilgrim at Thanksgiving dinner spitting out an oatmeal raisin cookie and a couple of Indians laughing at him.
* ''Literature/DirtyBertie'':
** Bertie doesn't like carrots or cauliflower.
** Bertie's great-aunt Morag doesn't like pasta as she thinks it gives her wind. She also likes tea but not too hot or too cold.
** Everyone except Bertie hates the school dinner rice pudding.
** Eugene doesn't like carrots.
** Darren doesn't like vegetables.
* ''Literature/{{Discworld}}'':
** Susan does not like nougat.
** King Verence detests custard, after having it dumped on him many a time during his youth in the Jesters' Guild. (It probably doesn't help that there's a custard actually ''called'' a fool.) He detests it so much that there's a national ban on custard in Lancre.
** Makepeace Thomas Bounder, "The Poet of the Cabbages" in ''The Discworld Almanack'', wrote a treatise on "The Hellish Root," aka the potato, believing its popularity to be directly responsible for people being uninterested in cabbages.
** When first introduced in the series, Cohen the Barbarian hates soup of any kind. This is because his teeth have fallen out and dentures are unknown outside of Agatea at the time, meaning the only food he can actually eat any more is soup and mushed veggies, and so well-meaning people offer him dozens of different kinds of (and recipes for) soup. He stops grumbling about it later in the series because by then he has pure diamond dentures, meaning he can eat anything he wants to eat again.
** In ''Literature/MakingMoney'', Moist hates offal, having been served too much of it as a kid (his grandfather raised dogs, and gave ''them'' all the good meat). Of course, [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes this comes up]] as they're the one note of OneNoteCook Aimsbury and the TrademarkFavoriteFood of Moist's fiancee Adora Belle.
** In ''Literature/{{Maskerade}}'', the famous opera singer Enrico Basilica from [[SpaghettiAndGondolas Brindisi]] is actually [[ThisIsMyNameOnForeign Henry Slugg]] from Ankh-Morpork. Everywhere he goes, people serve him pasta, and he's sick of it.
** In ''Literature/{{Wintersmith}}'', the instruction book ''Witch-Hunting for Dumb People'', carefully written by travelling witch Miss Tick as a massive exercise in BriarPatching, says that giving a suspected witch a good vegetable soup will rob her of her powers, but tomato will make her even more powerful. Presumably, this is because Miss Tick doesn't like tomato soup.
* In ''Literature/EndoAndKobayashiLive The Latest on Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte'', Endo hates eggplants. A funny moment [[spoiler:that also shows how he's preoccupied with the Kuon Kirise thing]] involves him absent-mindedly ordering ''eggplant'' Bolognese during a date with Kobayashi, attempts to leave it all out, but finally having to eat what he calls his Achille's Heel because he thinks it's uncool to admit it to his crush.
* Rhiow in Creator/DianeDuane's ''Literature/FelineWizards'' series dislikes tuna.
* ''Literature/FireAndBlood:'' Aegon III didn't enjoy sweet foods in general, which saves him from an assassination attempt via poisoned pies, since he didn't eat any. He also wasn't too fond of turnips, but in that case, he'd eat them if they were presented to him (which, thanks to an analogy getting out of hand, leads to Myrielle Peak getting the nickname "Lady Turnips").
* ''Literature/{{Fudge}}'':
** One of Fudge's friends Daniel doesn't like peas, which the adults think is unreasonable.
** Peter doesn't like rice cakes.
** Cousin Howie doesn't like artificial flavors in cereal as he thinks they're poisonous.
* Creator/DrSeuss's ''Literature/GreenEggsAndHam''--The protagonist spends most of the book declaring how much he dislikes it, though by the end he is persuaded to try it and discovers that it's actually quite good.
* Ben from ''Series/GangstaGranny'' dislikes cabbage.
* Garrett from the ''Literature/GarrettPI'' series absolutely hates green bell peppers, to the point of ranting at length about how they're one of the few things humans eat that ''pigs'' won't. He also rebukes Morley for offering to serve him a cattail-heart salad, as that's mostly what his Marine unit had to live on for months when they were guerrilla-fighting in the Cantard swamps.
* ''Literature/HarryPotter'': Dumbledore, despite his [[GeniusSweetTooth general fondness for sweets]], avoids Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans after coming across a vomit-flavored one in his youth. He tries them again at the end of the first book, and...
--> "But I think I'll be safe with a nice toffee, don't you?" (eats bean) "Alas. Earwax."
* ''Literature/{{Just}}'': The main character Andy hates both Brussel's sprouts and custard. He also dislikes corn relish, claiming it "looks like spew, it smells like spew, it even tastes like spew."
* The story ''The King Who Wouldn't Eat Porridge'' is about a king who dislikes porridge so much that he makes it illegal.
* Tita in ''Literature/LikeWaterForChocolate'' can eat just about anything except soft-boiled eggs.
* ''Literature/LittlePea'': The pea doesn't like candy.
* Franchise/TolkiensLegendarium:
** In ''Literature/TheHobbit'', nobody likes ''cram'', a biscuit-like K-ration made by the Lake Men, but then, the Lake Men didn't have taste in mind when they made it. Lembas bread, made by the elves, was an improved recipe with better taste.
** However, Gollum from both ''The Hobbit'' and ''Literature/TheLordOfTheRings'' saga could not tolerate Lembas bread, as prolonged exposure to the One Ring made everything of elf-make anathema to him. Lembas bread tasted like dust when he tried to eat it.
* In one of the short stories in ''Marcovaldo'' by Italo Calvino, Marcovaldo develops an absolute loathing for sausage after eating it every day for weeks.
* ''Literature/MegAndMog'': The caterpillar from "Mog's Lunch Box" doesn't like spinach.
* ''Literature/{{Mog}}'': Nicky doesn't like eggs, so he's more than willing to let Mog eat his egg.
* ''Literature/NinaTanleven'': Nine’s dislike of coffee is brought up more than once, and she notes that she can't understand how “something can smell so good and taste so gross”.
* ''Franchise/{{Pumuckl}}'', the kobold protagonist of a German children's series hates cheese (which he calls "foul milk").
* As shown in ''Literature/RainbowDashAndTheDaringDoDoubleDare'', Rainbow Dash does not like chili peppers.
* ''Literature/RamonaQuimby'': The girl in the title thinks fish is boring to eat. She and Beezus also don't like tongue (once they know it's tongue).
* ''Literature/{{Ratburger}}'': The main girl Zoe hates prawn cocktail crisps because she thinks they smell bad.
* ''Literature/RetiredWitchesMysteries'': Book 3 reveals that Dorothy hates oranges, which is why turning someone into an orange tree (as she threatens to do at one point) is one of the worst fates she can think of for a person.
* ''Literature/RoysBedoys'':
** Roys doesn’t like strawberry icing, fried fish, broccoli, mushrooms, or barbecue sauce.
** Flora doesn’t like plain yogurt.
** Loys doesn’t like lettuce sandwiches.
* Mississippi from ''Literature/{{Savvy}}'' doesn't like green beans, calling them "infamous".
* Cassandra in the ''Literature/SecretSeries'' absolutely hates raisins, and her survival mix recipe ends with, "no raisins, ever!" When her mother grounds her in the second book, she promises to put raisins in instead of chocolate chips after her mother forbids her from having chocolate.
* In Creator/MarkTwain's "The Stolen White Elephant" the titular pachyderm eats anything except European butter and drinks anything except European coffee.
* In ''Literature/TheStormlightArchives'', Jasnah Kholin dislikes jams and jellies unlike her pupil Shallan Davar who has quite a SweetTooth. It's worth noticing because in Alethi culture food is split between masculine and feminine, so men are only allowed to eat certain flavors like spicy or savory while women mostly get sweets. This comes into play in ''The Way of Kings'' when [[spoiler:an assassin tries to kill Jasna. He poisoned the bread he brought to share with the women and hid the antidote in a jar of strawberry jam.]]
* In the ''Literature/TommyAndTuppence'' story "The Sunningdale Mystery", Tommy is playing at being Baroness Orczy's PhoneInDetective, the Old Man in the Corner. When he orders a chop and fried potatoes at the ABC Tearoom, Tuppence quickly corrects this to a cheesecake and a glass of milk. Tommy protests that this may be the Old Man's TrademarkFavoriteFood, but it's not something he likes at all.
* ''Literature/{{Treehouse}}'': Andy and Terry both hate vegetables. So does Vegetable Patty but she eats them anyway because she thinks vegetables are responsible for the death of her parents. Alice (Mr Big Nose's granddaughter) doesn't like pickles.
* ''Literature/WarriorCats'': None of the warriors seem to like "kittypet food".
* ''Literature/WinnieThePooh'':
** PickyEater Tigger initially claims that he likes everything, but ends up hating every food the other characters give to him and adding it to an increasingly long list of exceptions (including honey, acorns, thistles, and more), until he finally finds a single food that he does like, which turns out to be Roo's strengthening medicine, extract of malt, which Roo himself hates. In the Disney adaption he only dislikes honey.
** Pooh Bear doesn't like cheese, and wonders if heffalumps don't either.
* ''Literature/TheYellowBag'': Raquel mentions that the only food she doesn't like to eat is cod. Of course, when she visits her aunt Brunilda, she decides to serve cod for lunch.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Live-Action TV]]
* In ''Series/TheAddamsFamily'', Gomez doesn't like fudge.
* ''Series/AlexRider2020'': After finding out from Jack that Alex has been recruited as a spy, Tom visits him at the Friend estate under cover of delivering a pizza. With anchovies.
-->'''Alex:''' I hate anchovies.\
'''Tom:''' They're all you deserve!\
[''Later'']\
'''Alex:''' I'm sorry. I completely deserved the anchovies.\
'''Tom:''' You know I hate anchovies too, right? I have to suffer, because you're a dick.
* In the American version of ''Series/BigBrother'', Seasons 7 and beyond introduced the diet called Slop. The food is a mushy food that contains a lot of vitamins and proteins, and the contestants regularly express their dislike for being "Stuck on slop" and compete as hard as they can to not be the side that is forced to eat nothing but slop for a week. It is actually designed that way on purpose...as the Peanut Butter and Jelly diet would make people sleep all the time...the Slop would have people awake for more drama and encourage people to play harder during the food competitions.
* ''Series/BabylonFive'': The human officers on the station don't particularly like the nutritious but icky looking blue-white gunk they frequently served on as food by Earthforce (since actual food is hard to import and the station's gardens are reserved for other purposes).
** Similarly, people (like Dr. Franklin) hate the Mealbars that are supposedly nutritious but taste nasty. So when Captain Jack offered Franklin & Marcus some Insta-Eats, they chowed down immediately.
** Londo loves spoo but only if it's fresh (whereas his nemesis, G'kar, prefers non-fresh spoo).
** Minbari hate alcoholic drinks, not because they're prude, but because it apparently induces madness with even the tiniest morsel.
* ''Series/BizarreFoodsWithAndrewZimmern'': Andrew will cheerfully eat almost anything: bloody entrails, duck eggs with a fetus inside, pig brains preserved in aspic, etc. But in an episode about Hawaii, he was presented with a dish made of spam and could barely force himself to taste it. He even went on for about five minutes about how much he hates spam. He also has a strong aversion to durian (a fruit in which fellow travel host and chef Anthony Bourdain liked). He also does not like [[spoiler:walnuts or mayonnaise (which he described as "food goo")]]. When Zimmern guest starred on the Minneapolis episode of ''Series/ManVFood'', he had host Adam Richman (who makes his living eating enormous amounts of fatty, sugary, and/or unearthily spicy foods) try some lutefisk. He couldn't stomach more than one bite.
-->'''Andrew Zimmern:''' Mmmm. That's some good lutefisk.\
'''Adam Richman:''' (''face contorted in disgust'') How can you tell?
* ''Series/{{Bones}}'': Brennan doesn't like pie, at least fruit pie, because she doesn't like cooked fruit.
* Anya from ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'' explained alternative universes. Bear in mind that her example is bound to be self-centered: "Suppose you really like shrimp. Or suppose you don't like shrimp at all. Blahh, you say, I wish there weren't any shrimp..."
* Damiano Carrara, a frequent judge on season 1 of Creator/FoodNetwork 's ''Christmas Cookie Challenge'', hates ''gingerbread'' of all things. He notably did not return for future seasons of that show.
* Florian Bellanger, specifically acting as a judge for the Food Network show ''Series/CupcakeWars'', hates Red Velvet Cake. However, he has admitted that there are rare instances where if it is made very well, he does enjoy it. As a result, many competitors on the show will make a red velvet cupcake, if only to get the bragging rights if they can get Florian to like their take on it.
* Guy Fieri of ''Series/DinersDriveInsAndDives'' isn't very fond of eggs, and will typically eat around any that happen to come with the dish the show is featuring at the moment. He also openly hates liver and anything made from it, like liverwurst. Any time liverwurst happens to be featured he treats the segment where it's shown how the cook prepares it as if he'd been sentenced to the gallows and he'll have to be reassured by the chef that he'll like it more than he's assuming.
* ''Series/DoctorWho'':
** Sarah Jane Smith hates ginger pop. It's how the Doctor recognizes her ginger pop-drinking android impostor in ''The Android Invasion.'' She also hates brandy, according to ''The Ark in Space''.
*** This comes up again during ''[[Recap/TheSarahJaneAdventuresNYSInvasionOfTheBane Invasion of the Bane]]'', where her distaste for the (implied, but never outright stated to be) orange-flavored soft drink, Bubble Shock, causes her to miss out on its mind-controlling effects. Perhaps Sarah Jane just doesn't like soda pop?
** The Doctor isn't a huge fan of pears. The Seventh Doctor loathes pears, as does the Tenth[[note]]Although in the ''Literature/DoctorWhoNewAdventures'' novel ''The Room With No Doors'', Seventh, discussing the effects of regeneration, implies that a former incarnation "used to love poires en douillon."[[/note]], as established in both versions of "Human Nature", in which the Doctor doesn't want his companion to let him eat them while human. In the TV version, you still see him doing just that -- Ten (as "John Smith") ''really'' got on Martha's nerves after a while. As it turns out, the Twelfth doesn't like them either: he tells his companion, Clara, not to eat them, and just before regenerating, he advises his next incarnation not to eat pears.
** The Eleventh turns out, after much experimentation, to hate apples, yogurt, baked beans ("Beans are evil! Bad bad beans!"), bacon, and bread and butter. To be fair, he had just [[TheNthDoctor regenerated]]. He does, however, later demonstrate a strong distaste for wine, in contrast to a few previous incarnations who enjoyed the beverage.
* ''Series/{{Forever|2014}}'''s Henry is horrified and disgusted when Jo digs into a gyro while they're on stake-out. Jo is unapologetic.
* ''Series/{{Hornblower}}'': Lieutenant Bush had to eat turnips as a boy, but he never touches them now.
* ''Series/IronChef'':
** Play-by-play announcer Kenji Fukui hates bell peppers. (Which is ''hilarious'' considering a yellow bell pepper is the symbol of his boss, Chairman Kaga.)
** Chairman Kaga hates udon noodles. He was teased about it in one udon battle.
--->'''Kaga:''' Leave me alone. (''everybody laughs'') I hate udon. (''more laughter'')
* [[{{Manchild}} Yuto]] from ''Series/KamenRiderDenO'' [[IfItTastesBadItMustBeGoodForYou hates]] shiitake mushrooms, which is a pain, because [[TrueCompanions Deneb]] always puts them on his rice because they are healthy.
* [[SmugSuper Tsukasa]] from ''Series/KamenRiderDecade'' hates sea cucumbers. [[AbhorrentAdmirer Daiki]] lampshades it at one point:
--> '''Daiki''': Hey, Tsukasa. So you just [[spoiler: [[ItMakesSenseInContext died]] ]]. Maybe you can eat sea cucumbers now.
* In an episode of ''Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers'', the heroes discover that the current MonsterOfTheWeek, the Pudgy Pig, who was at first believed to be an ExtremeOmnivore, has a dislike for spicy food. After tricking him into eating some hot peppers, it appears that he's actually somewhat ''allergic'' to such food, and they defeat him easily.
* The famous ''Series/MontyPythonsFlyingCircus'' "[[Recap/MontyPythonsFlyingCircusS2E12 Spam]]" sketch: [[PunctuatedForEmphasis "I Don't! Like! Spam!"]] The {{Trope Namer|s}}, this one is {{justifi|edTrope}}able: [[UsefulNotes/TheHomeFront rationing]] had forced Britons to eat the stuff for ''years'' after [[UsefulNotes/WorldWarII the War]], and even after that, meat remained expensive, so by the time the Pythons came around, the whole island was heartily sick of it. The sketch plays on this. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODshB09FQ8w Lovely Spam! Wonderful Spam!]]
** Even better, the first two options are Spam-free ("egg-bacon; egg-bacon-sausage").
* ''Series/OnePiece2023''; Sanji expresses a distaste for seasoning his food with oregano, declaring it "for savages". In his flashback showing how he met Zeff, young Sanji charged the full-grown (and very dangerous) pirate when he dared to try and season a sauce Sanji had been cooking with oregano.
* ''Series/ParksAndRecreation'' features an entire ''town'' who dislike vegetables and salad. There was one business named "Sue's Salads" that was actively hated on by Leslie Knope, who is an otherwise cheerful person, and it went bankrupt in the course of a season. Ron Swanson exemplifies the trope, he also dislikes fruit (he can't bring himself to eat a banana until he smooshes it into a giant beef burger), diet versions of normal food or drink like skim milk. He also dislikes fish (claiming it is close enough to a vegetable) and invented the 'turf and turf' which is two giant steaks served side by side.
* ''Series/RedDwarf'' Dave Lister hates [[UsefulNotes/RamenAsDehydratedNoodles Pot Noodles]] to the point of eating [[DogFoodDiet dog food]] instead when they're his only options. When stuck on a ship that is supposedly a perfected version of the Dwarf, he orders a Pot Noodle to see if it can make them any good. It does, and he's amazed. He also explains how miraculous the reconstruction capabilities of a certain nanobot swarm are with the phrase "They can take Pot Noodle and turn it into food!"
* Newman on ''Series/{{Seinfeld}}'' hates broccoli, calling it a "vile weed". Of course, it seems he probably hates all vegetables.
* ''Series/SesameStreet'':
** Big Bird doesn't like turnips.
** Telly doesn't like lettuce.
** Curly Bear is the only one in her family who doesn't like porridge.
* ''Series/StargateSG1'' and ''Series/StargateAtlantis'':
** Rodney [=McKay=] with citrus fruits. Admittedly, it's because he's very allergic to them.
** Teal'c once turned down a warm glass of he milk (or "bovine lactose", as he puts it) in "The Changeling", as a remedy to help him get to sleep. It may or may not be a Jaffa thing.
* ''Series/StarTrekDeepSpaceNine'':
** Quark doesn't like jambalaya, root beer or pancakes. Garak doesn't like root beer either.
** Bashir doesn't like beets, although Sisko thinks he's just never had them prepared properly before.
* ''Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration'':
** Neither Pulaski, nor Geordi, nor Picard like the scrambled eggs Riker made. Worf found them delicious.
** Riker doesn't like fudge, despite having a SweetTooth in general.
** Data usually is emotionless, but when he temporarily got an emotion chip in ''Film/StarTrekGenerations'', he called a liquor "revolting". Then he asked for more.
** Spot the cat has this variety of cat food she doesn't like.
* ''Series/StarTrekVoyager'':
** Aside from Neelix and Kes, ''no one'' on the ship likes leola root, which is apparently a rather nasty-tasing but nutritional dish in the Delta Quadrant. Unfortunately for everyone else, Neelix insists on putting as much of it in his cooking as he can get away with, and blows off all complaints from the crew.
** Neither Neelix nor Chakotay like warm milk. Chakotay also dislikes carrots and steamed pudding.
** The DistantFinale showed that the now-Admiral Janeway has been advised by her doctor to stop drinking coffee for health reasons. She's switched to tea as a substitute but is growing to hate it more each day. When Admiral Janeway shows up in ''WesternAnimation/StarTrekProdigy'', she's gotten to the point of desperately looking for a doctor with a pro-coffee opinion.
* ''Series/TedLasso'': Ted himself does ''not'' like tea, which is ironic, considering that [[BritsLoveTea he lives in the UK]]. When he first moved there, he was quite vocal about his distaste for the drink, and is absolutely baffled as to how it is so popular there.
-->'''Ted:''' Be honest with me. It's a prank, right? The tea? Like when us tourist folks aren't around, y'all know this tastes like garbage.
* ''Tumbletown Tales'': Tumbleweed hates green seeds, or which he calls them "green things".
* The ''Two Fat Ladies'' dislike that most British of condiments, malt vinegar.
* In one episode of ''Series/TheWestWing'', Charlie is asked by a reporter if there are any foods the President doesn't like. He answers (truthfully) that the President doesn't like green beans. This gets him in trouble, because it's an election year, and the staff is afraid it might put off green bean farmers. (This may be based on the George H.W. Bush example in Real Life, below.)
* On ''Series/TrueBlood'' it's established human blood is flavored by their diet; donors are often paid to eat a single food for a period of time, like oranges or almonds, so that their blood tastes like it. More to the point, Pam once said she avoids people who eat a lot of fish for this reason.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Music]]
* Alizée's song ''J'en Ai Marre'' is about people and things she dislikes. This includes zucchini, which she claims makes her vomit.
* In the kids' song, ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ca8SUuG8vdA A Sad, Bad, Terrible Day,]]'' the boy doesn't like liver or beets.
* From Creator/TheSecondCity comes "I Hate Liver":
-->''I hate liver\
liver makes me quiver\
liver makes me curl right up and die\
it makes me cry.\
It gives you hives, it gives you scurvy\
turns my stomach topsy turvy''
* ''Music/{{Songdrops}}'': "I Don't Like Tomatoes" has the narrator not liking tomatoes. There's a SubvertedRhymeEveryOccasion for "fart", but it's unknown if they do make him fart or if he's just doing that as a joke.
* Music/WeirdAlYankovic:
** [[Music/RunningWithScissors "Albuquerque"]]: [[PunctuatedForEmphasis "I! HATE! SAUERKRAUT!"]] If you were force fed nothing but sauerkraut until you were twenty-six-and-a-half, you'd understandably hate the stuff too.
** Averted when he sings about the TropeNamer in [[Music/UHFOriginalMotionPictureSoundtrackAndOtherStuff "Spam"]]; he pokes fun at it for being MysteryMeat, but seems to be genuinely pleased with its versatility.
** Played straight in [[Music/StraightOuttaLynwood "Trapped in the Drive-Thru"]]:
--->''I hopped up and I said: "I don't know, do you want to get something delivered?"\
She's like "Why would I want to eat liver? I don't even like liver!"\
I'm like "No, I said 'delivered'."\
She's like "I heard you say liver!"\
I'm like "I should know what I said..."\
She's like "WHATEVER! I JUST DON'T WANT ANY LIVER!"''
* Music/AmandaPalmer's "Vegemite (The Black Death)" is about how the speaker cannot understand how her lover likes Vegemite, which she absolutely loathes.
-->''"It tastes like sadness''
-->''It tastes like batteries''
-->''It tastes like asses''
-->''I cannot hold a man so close who spreads this cancer on his toast''
-->''It is the Vegemite, my darling, or it's me?"''
* Music/KingCrimson: In [[Music/InTheWakeOfPoseidon "Cat Food"]], the narrator makes no secrets about his hatred of the cheap, poor-quality supermarket food he has to eat every day, with the chorus consisting of him growling "cat food, cat food, cat food, ''again?!''"
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Stand-Up Comedy]]
* Creator/JimGaffigan gets a ''lot'' of comedy mileage out of making fun of what may be his least favorite food: "Hot Pockets!"
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tabletop Games]]
* ''TabletopGame/DungeonsAndDragons'':
** The bulette (or landshark) is a vicious beast that usually preys on anything weaker than itself (which is usually anything. However, the 1st Edition description says it refuses to prey on elves, and dislikes dwarves.
** In the 4th Edition, the nalfeshnee are demonic overlords portrayed as {{Villainous Glutton}}s. They regard most creatures weaker than themselves (including other demons) as potential food, but they can't stomach gnomes for some reason. (Not that gnomes that fall into their clutches are in any way ''safe'' of course.)
** Beholders have (ironically enough, given the size of their mouths) virtually no sense of taste, as their tongue is their primary manipulatory organ, meaning that any food without an interesting texture falls into this. In case the nalfeshnee thing was making gnomes feel safe, beholders consider them to have "interesting texture", and they're so conveniently bite-sized...
* Greasus Goldtooth in ''TabletopGame/{{Warhammer}}'' does not like cockatrice and has no desire to eat it again. This may sound odd, but given that ogres have been found with the skeletons of entire horses in their stomachs, and the Firebelly induction ritual involves drinking lava, for an ogre to not want to eat something a second time is virtually unheard of.
* In ''TabletopGame/VampireTheMasquerade'', the Flaw "Prey Exclusion" means the vampire will specifically avoid blood from a certain type of person and will be penalized if made to drink from that type. [[PickyPeopleEater Ventrue]] are specifically disallowed from taking this Flaw since it's basically meaningless to them (they can ''only'' drink one specific type of blood - player's choice - anyway).
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Theater]]
* ''Theatre/AnimalCrackers'' invokes this in one of Groucho's ''Strange Interlude''-style asides: "This would be a better world for children if the parents had to eat the spinach."
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Video Games]]
* ''VideoGame/ANNOMutationem'': Ann doesn't like coffee, preferring tea for its more smooth flavor.
* ''VideoGame/BlazBlue'': Bang Shishigami states that "there are two things in this world that I just can not stand! Lies and evil and lies and...BELL PEPPERS!" He also hates pineapple in his sweet and sour pork. It is also stated that Jin Kisaragi cannot eat meat. This gets him eliminated from the "King of Men" competition in Bang's ''Chronophantasma'' gag reel.
* ''VideoGame/CatGirlWithoutSalad'': Kebako hates salad, and touching it instead of any of the sugary foods dropped by enemies causes her to lose health.
* In ''VideoGame/ChicoryAColorfulTale'', Pizza hates holeys (aka doughnuts) because their father often brought holeys home from his shop growing up. It got to the point where Pizza is just sick of them now.
* In ''VideoGame/CoffeeTalk Episode 2: Hibiscus and Butterfly'', Lucas used to like coffee such as espresso until his stomach "turned against [him] and decided to just ''hate'' it". He orders lattes because they're not too strong, but he goes for a matcha for his first order because he still misses the strong flavor.
* ''VideoGame/CorruptionOfLaetitia'': Celeste cannot stand eating or being the in the presence of fish because she was once nearly killed by a Kraken.
* ''VisualNovel/DaCapoII'': Minatsu Akasame is a robot who requires regularly eating bananas in order to keep functioning. She doesn't like them at all.
* ''VideoGame/{{Deltarune}}'': Giving food to a party member that they don't like will heal them for very little HP.
** Kris doesn't like Hearts Donuts and only gets 10-20 HP from them, while Susie gets 80-90 HP from them and has a positive reaction when they're given to her ("Mmm, blood!"). This could be because they hate being controlled by the heart-shaped SOUL.
** Susie doesn't like Choco Diamonds and only gets 20-30 HP from them. When you give her one, her reaction is "That's it?", implying they're small and not very filling, not enough for a BigEater like her.
** Noelle, a reindeer monster, doesn't like meat. Giving her a Darkburger will only heal her for 20 HP, even though it heals everyone else for 70 HP.
* Usalia from ''VideoGame/Disgaea5AllianceOfVengeance'' used to hate curry, and a curse put upon her forced her to eat it lest she suffer lethal consequences. However, she grew to like it over time, largely due to [[spoiler:a special sweet curry that her parents made for her as a final act of kindness before being murdered]].
* Wigfrid from ''VideoGame/DontStarve'' refuses to eat anything that doesn't contain meat, claiming that only meat is suitable for a warrior's diet. She has no problem eating the Leafy Meat from carnivorous plants, though.
* ''Franchise/DragonAge'':
** ''VideoGame/DragonAgeII'': Fenris apparently hates fish, according to one of his comments when entering a warehouse for a quest. Then again, this might be because of the smell.
--->'''Fenris:''' Fish, fish, and more fish. Pfaugh!
** ''VideoGame/DragonAgeInquisition'': Solas doesn't like tea, partially because the caffeine keeps him awake (and thus out of the Fade), and partially because it's too bitter for his tastes.
* ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight'': Saber is well known for her [[BigEater large and nondiscriminatory appetite]]. However, she does ''not'' like octopus. '''''At all.''''' Not so much for the taste as the appearance; upon finding out that a food she ''did'' enjoy (takoyaki) was stuffed with fried octopus, she expressed horror that she'd been eating 'demonic fish of the underworld'. [[spoiler: This is revealed elsewhere to be due to her confrontations with the Fourth War's Caster in ''Literature/FateZero'', who literally did try to kill her with summoned demonic fish of the underworld; the entire experience left her with a dislike for tentacled, squishy things]]. Saber also doesn't like potatoes because there was a time all she had to eat were potatoes, and they were poorly cooked; Namely that all the Knights of the Round Table took turns cooking and Gawian could only cook Potatos, and he wasn't very good at it. Cooking in general was lack luster in her time, causing her to prefer well cooked food in present day. Later entries in the series and suplementerly material reveal Saber Alter is also a big eater (as she's still Saber), but while regular Saber prefers well prepared foods, Alter is happy with cheap and easy snacks and fast food.
* In ''VisualNovel/FateHollowAtaraxia'', Rider says she refuses to eat anything with snake or horse in it (understandable, since [[spoiler:she's {{Medusa}}, she with snakes for hair, and her son {{Pegasus}} was a horse]]). Shirou points out people don't normally eat those anyway, but Saber points out they have snake wine. Rider also doesn't like most traditional Japanese foods and doesn't understand how Saber can eat them.
* ''Franchise/FinalFantasy'':
** In ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVI'' [[AllThereInTheManual Settei Shiryō-hen]] tells that Locke hates Mushroom.
** The Mushroom Cloud story in ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyX2'' reveals that Yuna does not like mushrooms.
** Prince Noctis of ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXV'', who will eat pretty much anything, does not care for beans. When a diner chef sends him on a quest to retrieve a missing shipment of beans, Noctis reluctantly agrees to at least try them.
*** Noctis's not a fan of vegetables, to the point where he went out of his way to surgically remove his vegetables from a burger in the anime. In-game, there are even a few quests revolving around chefs trying to get him to eat his veggies, and doesn't even want to hear the word beans. He ''especially'' hates carrots. They can be grown fresh in Cape Caem, but are unusable in Ignis's cooking due to Noctis's powerful aversion. Ignis's conditions when fighting him as the OptionalBoss of ''Episode Ignis'' are all about getting him to eat his vegetables. Likewise, a sidequest shows he's not too fond of beans.
** In ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIV'', Ameliance posts the Level 84 Culinarian levequest at the Scholar's Harbor, "A Stickler for Carrots", to ask for help in getting her husband Fourchenault, a man "possessed of towering intellect and unassailable logic", to eat his carrots.
** Ten-year-old Joshua Rosfield in ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXVI'' hates carrots. During a feast in the prologue, he is seen pushing his carrots away to one side of his plate. [[spoiler:This carries over into his adulthood eighteen years later where Clive notices a small pile of carrots pushed to one side of a plate during a trip to Dhalmekia.]]
** In ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyType0'', Machina has an aversion toward spicy foods according to Rem.
** Your character in ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyCrystalChronicles'' starts out with at least two foods they don't like. These don't restore a lot of their health, though if you feed them those foods often enough they'll start to like them.
* ''Franchise/FireEmblem'':
** In ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening'', both Lissa and Frederick disdain bear meat. The latter’s supports with the Avatar revolve around his trying to overcome this aversion.
** According to the C-Support conversation with her sibling, Female Morgan's least favorite food is vegetables, although she says she doesn't mind them now.
** ''VideoGame/FireEmblemThreeHouses''
*** Dorothea is not fond of seafood. Fish-based dishes have reduced benefits, and she mentions her dislike of fish during a fishing tournament.
*** Ferdinand does not like coffee (in addition to bitter foods in general) or cheese. Gifts of coffee beans and blue cheese will evoke a disappointed reaction, and dishes that prominently feature cheese have reduced benefits.
*** Felix is not fond of vegetables, and especially dislikes sweets. In his supports with Lysithea, however, he learns to appreciate her cakes. [[spoiler:In their paired ending, she leaves behind a recipe for her cakes after passing away, so Felix can continue to enjoy them.]]
*** Lysithea hates vegetables, too. She dislikes most vegetable dishes in the dining hall, and she mentions her dislike for them in several supports and monastery conversations.
*** Rhea doesn't like spicy food much, and if you give her a gift of exotic spices, she'll be disappointed. Also, while she does like tea, she mentions in the Advice Box that she doesn't like hot tea but is afraid it would seem rude if she left it untouched for long enough for it to cool.
* [[TruthInTelevision Much as raisins are toxic to real cats]], ''VideoGame/FreedomPlanet2'' reveals that Carol and Corazon can't stand eating them. [[spoiler:Roughly halfway through the game, Corazon maroons Carol in the middle of the ocean with no food except a crate of raisins, much to Carol's fury when she finds out. Later, after Corazon is struck down by [[BigBad Merga]] [[TakingTheBullet in Carol's stead]] and taken in for treatment, it turns out a side-effect of Milla's healing potions is that "[[SuddenlyShouting EVERYTHING TASTES LIKE RAISINS!]]"]]
* In ''VideoGame/GenshinImpact,'' each of the characters you can recruit have their own TrademarkFavoriteFood which heal them faster and ones that heal them for less, especially if it involve certain ingredients. For example, Xingqiu doesn't like carrots to the point that his specialty dish, Countryside Delicacy, gets rid of them, and yet it somehow heals more HP.
* ''VisualNovel/TheGreatAceAttorney'': Kazuma Asogi doesn't like chicken. [[spoiler:This becomes a plot point when the cast is served a meal poisoned with a sleeping drug- but since it was a chicken dish, Kazuma didn't eat it, and so stayed awake.]]
* Xi-sheng from ''VideoGame/{{Halflight}}'' hates kumquat, and actively wonders why his parents loves Kumquat Pork Roast.
--> "They taste like some kind of cleaning agent!"
* Professor Carter in ''VideoGame/HarvestMoonDS'' loathes curry. He hates it even more because it's all his OneNoteCook of an assistant, Flora, knows how to cook. The ironic thing? It's the TrademarkFavoriteFood of several other characters.
** Throughout the series, there are food items that are absolutely loathed by certain characters. Natalie from ''Island Of Happiness'' is {{Squick}}ed by mushrooms and Julia (same game) feels the same about fish.
** Nina mentions in ''VideoGame/HarvestMoonMagicalMelody'' that she hates pumpkin because her mom fed it to her so much as a child. Several of Liz's favorite gifts are pumpkin and pumpkin foods.
* ''VideoGame/{{Haven 2020}}'': Yu hates appledews, the first food found in the game. This is because at the start of the game, they've been stuck with ''only'' appledews for quite a while.
* In ''VisualNovel/HigurashiWhenTheyCry'', Shion doesn't like canned meat, Satako doesn't like pumpkins, and Hanyuu doesn't like spicy food and wine.
* ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsI'': Kairi is not fond of mushrooms, wondering why she and her friends should even take them on the raft.
* Several characters from ''VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters'' series has the foods in their list of disliked things in their profiles. Robert Garcia dislikes rakkyou (pickled Chinese scallions) since Ryo forced him to eat it once.
** Shingo Yabuki's least favorite is milk. In one of his special team endings in ''[=KoF=] '98'' (which consists of King, Mature and himself), he is seen crying waterfalls of tears because he receives a bottle of milk as his birthday present.[[note]]Which is worth noting that they share the same birthday -- April 8th.[[/note]]
* ''VideoGame/{{Klonoa}}'', despite resembling a rabbit ([[MixAndMatchCritters among several other things]]), is known to hate carrots.
* ''VideoGame/TheLastOfUs'':
** Tess' list notes that she would never eat sardines, no matter how much she starves. And since this is a post-apocalyptic world where food is scarce, that's saying something.
** In ''Videogame/TheLastOfUsPartII'', Dina and Ellie bond over their dislike of coffee. Dina says it tastes like "burnt shit" and Ellie agrees.
* A similar example are the [[ManEatingPlant Man-Eating Plants]] in ''VideoGame/LuigisMansionDarkMoon''. They aren't ghosts, and are thus immune to the Strobulb and Poltergeist 5000, but Luigi can defeat them by force-feeding them a spikey fruit that often grows nearby. [[spoiler: Luigi can use a cooked chicken in place of the fruit to defeat one particular Plant in the Treacherous Mansion, which also gains him a Diamond.]]
* ''Franchise/MassEffect''
** In [[VideoGame/MassEffect1 the first game]], Joker can mention offhandedly that he hates coconut (or coconut cake, at least.)
** Grunt from ''VideoGame/MassEffect2'' is almost the ultimate example of an ExtremeOmnivore -- the smell of burning plague victims makes him hungry. However, he hates ramen (it looks like worms, apparently).
* Similarily to ''Tomodachi Life'', in ''VideoGame/{{Miitopia}}'' each character will react differently to the stat-boosting food you get from enemies; this food will raise the points needed to increase a character's stats, with bonus points if they like it and lesser effects when they don't. Once a character tries a grub they decided they don't like, you can see them grimacing when said food is highlighed on the menu screen.
* ''VideoGame/MoshiMonsters'':
** Sometimes, the playable monsters will decide they don't like certain foods.
** Katsuma from the movie doesn't like gloop jelly beans.
** Shrewman doesn't like red berries.
** Scratch the spider doesn't like hot sauce, or, as he puts it, he "[[YouNoTakeCandle no like hot!"]]
** Big Chief Tiny Head has certain drinks he doesn't like.
* Unlike Flint, who [[MemeticMutation LOVES cheese]], Kumatora and Boney of ''VideoGame/Mother3'' hate it, and will recover less hitpoints from eating it.
* ''VideoGame/{{Neptunia}}'':
** Neptune utterly LOATHES eggplants, often for childish reasons such as "They make your eyes turn purple!" (never mind that Neptune's eyes are already purple to begin with). Yes, this even applies to her OlderAlterEgo, Purple Heart. Seeing the stoic LadyOfWar recoil in disgust over something so mundane is a sight to behold. Amusingly, this led to the creation of a specific type of enemy made solely to torment her: the "Eggplanter". However, this seems to be genetic considering [[AlternateSelf Adult Neptune]] in ''VideoGame/MegadimensionNeptuniaVII'' tries some eggplants out of curiosity for the first time only to basically barf and declare she's ''never'' eating them again.
** IF also grew to hate eggplants [[spoiler:after being force-fed a whole bunch of them by Arfoire]].
** ImpliedTrope in the case of Plutia. During a scene in ''Victory'' where Neptune is ranting about how much she hates eggplants, Plutia muses "Eggplants? Not bell peppers...?"
** In ''Megadimension Neptunia VII'', in addition to Adult Neptune revealing she shares her counterpart's dislike of eggplants, Uzume can't stand shiitake mushrooms and Umio is the same about freshwater fish (though Umio's at least justified since [[CarnivoreConfusion he is a fish himself]]). [[spoiler:This is exploited by Arfoire to get them to feed her all their disliked food so she can get strong enough to break out of Adult Neptune's Nep-Note.]]
* Nanami Ginjo of ''VideoGame/OmegaLabyrinthLife'' ''trembles'' and stammers at the prospect of being forced to drink black coffee, at the risk of looking ungrateful otherwise. This extends to bitter drinks in general.
* Noodles in the second ''VideoGame/ParappaTheRapper'' game. They're TAKING OVER THE WORLD (in a way).
* ''Franchise/{{Persona}}'':
** In ''VideoGame/Persona4'', it's indicated that the player character's young cousin, Nanako, doesn't like spicy stuff very much. When she taste-tests [[LethalChef the female party members' omelets]], she compliments all of them to be polite, but she has difficulty forcing down a bite of Rise's extremely spicy omelet, much less wholeheartedly praising it.
*** Also, while eating sushi, Nanako doesn't touch any until her father scrapes the wasabi off the piece she wants.
*** Yosuke either doesn't like tofu or is allergic. He still buys some from the shop Rise's grandmother runs, though.
** ''VideoGame/Persona5'':
*** Ryuji doesn't like bitter stuff, shown by him refusing to drink coffee. To point gets teased for being like a kid because of it.
*** Ann doesn't like carbonated juices. When Ryuji offers her a choice of two drinks after her awakening, she says she'll go with "Whichever's not carbonated." When Ryuji says they both are, Ann reluctantly picks the one in his right hand.
*** [[spoiler:Hilariously, Akechi develops a distaste for pancakes after realizing that his [[TrademarkFavoriteFood initial love for them]] tipped the thieves off to his true nature.]]
---->[[spoiler:'''Akechi:''']] [[spoiler:Pancakes... I don't want to hear that word again for a long, long time.]]
* Starting in the third-generation games, most ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}'' have a preferred flavor and a disliked flavor, depending on their nature and corresponding to the stats improved/reduced by their nature. If fed Pokeblocks or Poffins of a disliked taste, the Pokemon will gain less benefit, and certain healing berries will inflict confusion if the Pokemon doesn't like how they taste.
* It's heavily implied that SelfDemonstrating/GLaDOS ''really'' hates potatoes by the end of ''VideoGame/Portal2''. [[spoiler: Though the reason is because she was ''stuck inside one'' for a good portion of the game.]]
* Creator/{{Rabbiton}}'s character, Charlotte, really does not like tomatoes, referenced in every game she appears in, ''VideoGame/TrickAndTreat'', ''VideoGame/TheWitchesTeaParty'', and ''VideoGame/TheOtherAirisAdventure''.
* ''VisualNovel/RomansChristmas'': Not even [[spoiler:being locked in a cellar to almost starve]] can convince Vincel to eat liver. [[spoiler:This comes back to bite him when a Vitamin A deficiency makes him night-blind, which causes him to kill someone who wasn't his target.]]
* In ''VideoGame/RuneScape'', the Player Character hates cabbage.
-->(Examine Text for Cabbage) ''Yuck, I don't like cabbage.''\
(After eating a cabbage) ''You eat the cabbage. Yuck! [[HyperactiveMetabolism it heals some health anyway]].''
* In ''VideoGame/SonicUnleashed'', Sonic gains EXP from foods he eats, with the amount of EXP he gets based on how much he likes the food. He generally doesn't seem generally fond towards basic sweets and drinks, and seems to have a strong distate for seafood.
* ''VideoGame/StardewValley'', the SpiritualSuccessor for ''Harvest Moon'', also has food items that certain characters just loathe:
** [[TheTeetotaler Penny]] hates alcoholic drinks and even grapes and hops, which given how much she resents her alcoholic mother Pam is hardly a shock.
** Leah loves fruits and vegetables and anything foraged, but she despises junk food like pizza, hashbrowns or pancakes. She is a CountryMouse and store-bought food just reminds her of the city.
** Emily hates seafood; fish tacos, maki rolls, sashimi and salmon dinners. It can possibly be assumed she is allergic to fish.
** Maru, Sam and Shane all hate pickles.
** Sebastian hates eggs (except Void Eggs, [[TrademarkFavoriteFood which he loves]]).
* ''Franchise/SuperMarioBros'':
** Wart in ''VideoGame/SuperMarioBros2'' hates vegetables enough to make them his WeaksauceWeakness.
** In ''VideoGame/SuperMarioSunshine'', King Boo doesn't like spicy food, so much that to beat him, you have to [[WeaksauceWeakness throw hot peppers into his mouth]] whenever the roulette wheel you fight him on causes fruit to spill out.
* Every player character from the ''VideoGame/TalesSeries'' (with the exceptions of [[VideoGame/TalesOfTheAbyss Anise]] and [[VideoGame/TalesOfVesperia Yuri]], both justified due to living in relative poverty to their respective parties) has a least favorite food; some games even have a mechanical display of this (such as said food having less of an effect, or even the opposite effect, on said character).
** In ''VideoGame/TalesOfSymphonia'', every character has a least favorite food as a game mechanic. The most notably overblown in fandom terms is Kratos's (not [[VideoGame/GodOfWar that one]]) hatred of tomatoes, possibly because it's amusing for such a [[TheStoic stoic]] badass to have that kind of a weakness. Notably there is one who shares his dislike: [[spoiler:his son, Lloyd]].
** It's easy to note that Colette does NOT like Green Peppers. [[{{Foreshadowing}} When she starts eating them, it's a hint]] that something is very ''wrong'': [[spoiler:she's losing her natural senses as a part of her transformation.]]
** Genis Sage doesn't care much for Gels (the healing items of the game), if you don't give him any for so long, he gets the title "I hate gels!" and a skit.
** Flynn's dislike of squid in ''VideoGame/TalesOfVesperia'' is another popular fandom topic, particularly on the Japanese end, which is often {{Flanderized}} into him having a full-blown ''phobia'' of the creatures.
* [=DeMille=], the player character of ''VideoGame/TomatoAdventure'', does not like tomatoes, and neither does his girlfriend Patharan. Both characters are actually ''punished'' for this; in this game's setting, the Ketchup Kingdom, anybody found to hate tomatoes is labeled a "dropper" and banished to the outskirts of the kingdom, known as Kobore Village. Anybody thrown here has no permission to leave until they learn to like the food in question.
* In ''VideoGame/TomodachiLife'', each Mii has various food likes and dislikes. The two foods they hate the most will send them into HeroicBSOD animations and empty out their Happiness meter. The twist? You won't know what are the foods they hate the most until they actually try them.
--> ''He/She thought it was the worst ever!!'' (American Version)\
''He/She really didn't like it at all!!'' (European Version)
* Emiko of ''VideoGame/UmiharaKawase'' is not a big fan of sushi, which is a problem for her since the enemies that she and the other characters have to face are ''fish''.
* ''VideoGame/WallaceAndGromitsGrandAdventures'', While Wallace is famous for his love of cheese, he doesn't like American Cheese. To the point of accidently eating a piece of it from a cheese tray is enough for him to avoid it in fear of eating another piece.
* The virmen in ''VideoGame/WorldOfWarcraft'' are a savage tribe of rabbit-like humanoids native to Pandara who are obsessed with vegetables -- mostly carrots -- but despise turnips for some reason, and will sometimes deliberately go out of the way to destroy. Many clever Pandarens (and even not-so-clever ones, like children, seeing as virmen aren't all-too smart) use this distaste to their advantage to get rid of them. A common trick is to fool them into accidentally eating a turnip, by painting them orange to look like carrots.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Web Animation]]
* ''WebAnimation/BarbieVlog'' establishes that Ken hates bananas. When Barbie pushes the point, he emphasizes said dislike by [[FullNameUltimatum calling her "Barbara"]], one of the ''only'' times anyone's used Barbie's full first name.
* ''WebAnimation/BloodSunVendetta'': Adrian's bio states he dislikes salad without dressing.
* In the 2015 version of ''WebAnimation/DCSuperHeroGirls'', it is revealed in the "Hero of the Year" movie that Wonder Woman doesn't like olives.
* ''WebAnimation/HomestarRunner'':
** The King of Town in , while usually fond of [[ExtremeOmnivore anything he could conceivably fit down his throat]], hates peas, according to the WebAnimation/StrongBadEmail "different town". It is a fan in-joke that if he was served buttered peas, he'd eat the butter off the peas. Somehow.
** The Mighty Warrior from ''WebAnimation/TeenGirlSquad'' is a tiny samurai who is apparently the mortal nemesis of corn and corn-based products.
--->'''Mighty Warrior:''' Corn is no place for a mighty warrior!
* In a ''WebAnimation/RWBYChibi'' short, Ruby struggles to open a pickle jar to the point of ''slicing the jar to pieces'' with her scythe. Once she takes a bite, however, she recoils in disgust as the pickles turn out to be dill pickles. In a later sketch, Ruby's trying to open another jar of pickles that are clearly marked as sweet pickles.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Web Comics]]
* In ''Webcomic/BoyAndDog'', Rowan gets told a story where a troll was forced to eat liver despite disliking it, so he {{curse}}s some villagers to believe everything tastes of liver. The villagers (except one) hate liver so much that they almost starve themselves to avoid tasting it.
* PlayedForDrama with Kokkan in "Webcomic/ABrokenWinter". After a year as a child spent around freshly slaughtered animals and dead bodies in Irihi slaughterhouse, he refuses to eat meat of any sort. It's also one of the signs of his ongoing battle with PTSD.
* In ''Webcomic/TheInexplicableAdventuresOfBob,'' Molly the Peanut Butter Monster has expressed discomfort with eating peanut butter, saying it makes her feel vaguely cannibalistic.
** Bob hates asparagus. He was once served a dish involving asparagus and ''carpenter ants,'' and expressed incredulity that it tasted good because it had asparagus in it.
* ''Webcomic/{{Homestuck}}'':
** The show starts on [[BirthdayBeginning John Egbert's birthday]]. As a result of all the cake he has been eating for the occasion, he is sick to death of baked goods -- especially those by Betty Crocker. This nearly causes a HeroicBSOD when he realizes that [[TrademarkFavoriteFood his beloved Fruit Gushers]] are made by the "Heinous Batterwitch," but he decides that angsting over it is stupid. It's implied that his hatred of Betty Crocker products goes back ''much'' farther than that, since [[spoiler:his adoptive great-grandmother was Betty Crocker herself]] and baking seems to be something his father does ''constantly'' regardless of the occasion, or lack thereof.
** In the [[AlternateUniverse Alpha Session]], John's counterpart, Jane Crocker, dislikes Fruit Gushers, ironically enough.
* The Lead Nun in ''Webcomic/LittleNuns'' [[https://twitter.com/hyxpk/status/1287750596020170752 does not like broccoli]], and is forced to eat it by the older and more mature Grumpy Nun, presumably because she did something wrong while her friends go out to play baseball. Later gets referenced in [[https://twitter.com/hyxpk/status/1303000089678422016 this panel]] where the Grumpy Nun is put in the same situation with tomatoes.
* ''Webcomic/TheOrderOfTheStick'':
** The Monster in the Darkness will eat anything except babies. Xykon keeps trying to feed live children to him, apparently thinking it will make him scarier, but the [=MitD=] just pushes them around on his plate until he can throw them out when Xykon's not looking.
--->'''[=MitD=]:''' What about you? Is there any food you hate?\
'''O-Chul:''' Well, I was going to express a dislike of squid, but I suppose babies top my list as well.
** Haley doesn't like pickles, leading her none-too-bright [[TheRival rival]] Crystal to think she can kill Haley by pelting her with pickles.
--->'''Haley:''' So that's the kind of fight this is gonna be, huh?
* In ''Webcomic/PeterParkerForeignExchangeStudent'', Felicia Hardy dislikes fast food. Unfortunately for her, it's a tradition in Japan to eat UsefulNotes/KentuckyFriedChicken on Christmas, which she especially dislikes.
* Lt Ebbirnoth in ''Webcomic/SchlockMercenary'' does not like the food at Panda Gonzales, home of Authentic Hong-Kong-Tex-Mex, at one point comparing a side dish to a little platter of germ warfare. Schlock isn't overly fond of it either, but given that Schlock can and will eat virtually anything, he doesn't really care that much.
* Webcomic/{{Sonichu}} hates pickles because they remind him of a [[HaveIMentionedIAmHeterosexualToday certain body part]].
* In ''Webcomic/{{Waterworks}}'', Tubs does ''not'' like fish. Even the smell will keep him out of an area.

[[folder:Web Media]]
* In Creator/AchievementHunter videos, several of their pranks involve this:
** The gang love screwing with Creator/GavinFree by using his hatred of wet bread against him, as he has a visceral gagging reaction to the mere mention of the subject. In their "Stink Jug" video, upon seeing the titular object, Gavin curls up in horror behind a bicycle and laments that it makes him not want to come into work.
** Trevor Collins has an equally intense hatred of pickles and will be disgusted at the mere mention of them. Naturally, some of his food challenges involved the food much to his horror, having once ran away screaming after being forced to try a pickle covered in cotton candy. When the annual Extra Life event comes around, his punishments almost always involve him being forced to eat some form of pickles, usually gagging or vomiting afterwards.
* Creator/ArinHanson holds a special disdain for almonds, not because of taste, but because of their environmental impact on bees. A RunningGag in the "Whodunnit? episode of the WebVideo/GameGrumps Ten Minute Power Hour is Arin yelling at everybody to stop buying almonds.
* In ''WebVideo/TheAutobiographyOfJaneEyre'':
** Grace Poole finds it difficult to describe Mr Rochester when Jane asks about him. She says he has a mild aversion to uncooked tomatoes.
** Grace is somewhat obsessed with food and wouldn't dare to touch anything with glutens. (In one hilarious out-of-universe video, she's seen getting high on eating regular bread.)
* Creator/BradJones cannot stand pickles or green beans.
* ''WebVideo/JakeAndAmir'': Amir hates yams.
* Kothorix has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNOfuualxis an entire video]] where he talks about how much he hates beer. He also mentions in the video that he doesn't like sea urchin.
* ''WebVideo/MickeyMouseReacts'': Mickey doesn't like Pepsi or white chocolate, and when he sees them in a video, he will usually voice his preference for Coke/dark chocolate.
* WebVideo/TheNostalgiaChick has a strong distaste for mayonnaise.
* ''WebVideo/PiratesSMP'': {{Deconstructed|Trope}} [[PlayedForLaughs for dark laughs]]; Will thinks oranges don't "taste good" and seems to avoid them at all costs, to the point it's mentioned that he got scurvy [[NoodleIncident at some point in the past]] because of this.
* ''WebVideo/StampysLovelyWorld'': Fizzy Elephant's TrademarkFavoriteFood is chocolate chip cookies, but oatmeal ''raisin'' cookies are a major BerserkButton for him, to the point he has a protest about their existence in Episode 710, fittingly titled "Protest".
* Jeffy from ''WebVideo/SuperMarioLogan'' has a ''massive'' hatred for green beans. He won't eat them when they get served to him, often angrily chewing out whoever served them to him (usually Mario/Marvin) and/or throwing them away.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Western Animation]]
* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Amphibia}},'' Anne [[PineappleRuinsPizza hates pineapple on her pizza]], and even becomes hostile towards Sprig just for mentioning it. Also, when Anne dreams about a world of frozen yogurt, she's overjoyed to learn it's bug free. But the dream turns into a nightmare when there's only one flavor, [[BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor Black Licorice.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/AngelinaBallerina'': Angelina and Alice don't like "cabbage jelly".
* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Animaniacs}}'', Wakko can [[ExtremeOmnivore eat almost anything]]. However, in "The Three Muska-Warners," it appears he doesn't like mayonnaise. He and his siblings were [[ShowWithinAShow performing in a play]] at the time, so it may have just been scripted. "I'm Mad" shows him disliking scrambled eggs too, and "The Sound of Warners" reveals that all three Warner siblings dislike oatmeal.
* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Arthur}}'', D.W. hates spinach. One episode had her order a bowl of salad in which she recognizes one of the vegetables used as spinach, shouting "I don't like spinach!", and accidentally knocks the salad bowl onto their waiter who promptly quits. The episode itself is all about her attempting to stop being a picky eater, and she [[IDoNotLikeGreenEggsAndHam eventually does enjoy spinach]].
* ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'': Aang quickly develops a dislike for sea prunes. Unfortunately for him, they're one of the only foods he can eat whenever he's a guest of the Water Tribes (as he's a vegetarian).
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheBatman'', The Joker once kidnapped several people and said they had all wronged him. One was the top psychiatrist, and his crime was, "Bagley, how many times do I have to tell you, I hate macaroni and cheese!"
* ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries'':
** Harley Quinn hates fish. Eating them makes her sick, and she's not too keen on handling them either. She will try to tough it out for the Joker's sake if one of his plans involves them though.
** OneShotCharacter Charlie Collins hates meatloaf. But after surviving his ordeal with the Joker, he wouldn't mind it.
-->"Right now anything looks good, even meatloaf."
* ''WesternAnimation/BigCityGreens'': In "Tilly Style", the Greens have been eating zucchini for six days straight becuase Bill grew too many of them and refuses to waste food. Cricket has gotten sick of it and refuses to eat anymore. When Bill tells him he's not leaving his chair until he eats his zucchini, Cricket [[ExactWords decides to spend the rest of his life in the chair]].
* The titular characters of ''WesternAnimation/BikerMiceFromMars'' do not like cheese, much to Charley's surprise since... well, they're mice. They tend to go for sausages and beer instead, plus their ArchEnemy is cheese-themed.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Bluey}}'', Bingo doesn't like Cheese and Jelly sandwiches and prefers Banana and Peanut Butter (which Bluey hates)
* ''WesternAnimation/BoJackHorseman'':
** The titular character can't stand honeydew. In the GrandFinale of the series, [[spoiler:Bojack is initially disgusted by the honeydew at the wedding reception, then [[SubvertedTrope he tries it and thinks it's not bad]].]]
--->'''[=BoJack=]:''' Goddammit, honeydew?! Why does cantaloupe think every time it gets invited to a party he can bring along his dumb friend honeydew? You don't get a plus-one, cantaloupe!
** Other than Bojack, others who hate honeydew include Princess Carolyn [[spoiler:as well as [=BoJack=]'s half-sister Hollyhock.]]
** Season 4 has Creator/JessicaBiel be disgusted (and claim to feel "personally attacked") when she's accidentally served avocado toast, as she hates avocado. [[spoiler:This results in her ''[[SkewedPriorities losing an election]]'' because no one in California can comprehend hating avocado.]]
* The titular character of ''WesternAnimation/BunsenIsABeast'' dislikes frozen yogurt and tangelos.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Caillou}}'' disliking olives is the premise of a Season 5 episode, where he struggles to tell his grandma he doesn't like them.
* In ''WesternAnimation/CodeLyoko'', Odd is a BigEater who'll eat almost anything. He doesn't like sushi, however, telling Yumi's mom that he "didn't care for" it in one episode where she offered it.
* ''WesternAnimation/CodenameKidsNextDoor'':
** In the pilot episode (the first "Operation: C.A.K.E.D.") the Delightful Children invite Laura Limpin, AKA The Big Badolescent to their party as a bodyguard to keep the heroes at bay. Unfortunately, this turns out bad for the villains when Laura actually tries the cake and finds out it has coconut in it, which she hates.
** The whole team is revolted by tapioca pudding, and after unintentionally getting a tanker full of it, they're at a loss on how to get rid of the stuff. To their surprise -- and delight -- [[CouldHaveAvoidedThisPlot it's what the villains of the episode are after]].
** Father hates broccoli. In fact, he claims that ''everyone'' hates it, and that the reason adults make kids eat it is so that ''they'' won't have to. The stuff is downright poison to KND Operatives (with the exception of [[BigEater Numbuh Two]]). Numbuh 362 eats her way through a wall of broccoli to confront him, and while she manages to triumph and save the day, it sends her into a two-week coma afterwards.
** While he's okay with most junk food, given his age, Numbuh Four doesn't like chocolate all-too much.
** Numbuh Five's rival Heinrich von Marzipan loves cheeseburgers... But ''not'' if they have pickles.
** Black licorice is so despised by candy pirates that there's a curse associated with it, although Numbuh Five says she "kind of" likes it.
* The ''WesternAnimation/COPS1988'' episode "The Case of the Visiting Mother" establishes that Big Boss doesn't like sweet potatoes.
* ''WesternAnimation/CourageTheCowardlyDog'':
** Eustace despises eggplants, as he makes it clear in "Journey to the Center of Nowhere", and cold cuts to a lesser extent, as evidenced in "Courage the Fly" by Muriel threatening to let him have them for dinner if he doesn't put back her ripped-off face.
** If her de-aged self in "Little Muriel" is anything to go by, Muriel hates macaroni and cheese.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Daria}}'' doesn't like berries, and avoided eating them while on a family camping trip. This ended up saving everyone. Turns out the berries were toxic and caused everyone else to trip out and hallucinate. Since she was still sane, she was able to call 911 and get the family out of the woods and to a nearby hospital so they could get their stomachs pumped. Although this is not so much as she hates berries in general, she just didn't trust her father's dubious foraging skills.
* Perhaps not quite a dislike, but WesternAnimation/DarkwingDuck can't stomach [[BlazingInfernoHellfireSauce spicy foods]]. [[note]]An aversion to and inability to stomach spicy foods is a mammalian thing. Birds (which ducks are) in real life can stomach spicy foods very well.[[/note]] He's also not a big fan of his girlfriend Morgana's cooking (although, she is sort of a CordonBleughChef, to put it lightly...).
* ''WesternAnimation/DorgVanDango'': The episode [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin "Dorg Hates Olives"]] involves Dorg trying to stomach his mother's "olive surprise", which she wants him to eat every last scrap of.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Doug}}'' hates liver and onions.
* ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales2017'':
** Louie Duck hates hot dogs. So much so, that Huey and Dewey wore life jackets with hot dogs attached to them in order to prevent Louie from eating them if they got lost at sea.
** [[spoiler:Della Duck]] hates black licorice. Unfortunately, the [[spoiler:Oxy-Chew gum she has to use to survive on the moon]] tastes like black licorice. [[spoiler:To make matters worse, their inventor designed the gum so the flavor gets stronger the more it's chewed.]]
* Kuzco makes several comments throughout ''WesternAnimation/TheEmperorsNewSchool'' that he hates cauliflower (he hates all veggies, but this one in particular).
* ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddParents'' episode "Playdate of Doom" shows Cosmo to not like beets, to the point that he goes to great lengths to dispose of every serving of beets he is given.
* ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy'':
** Stewie is okay with ice cream, but ''not'' if it has sprinkles. At his first birthday party, when Chris offers him ice cream he specifically says, "Very well, but no sprinkles! For every sprinkle I find, I shall kill you." He doesn't like pickles either.
** Peter nearly pukes his spleen out upon trying [[StockYuck a rice cake]] for the first time.
* ''WesternAnimation/GarfieldAndFriends'':
** In one episode, Binky the Clown reveals that he hates mayonnaise.
** Garfield hates raisins (makes sense, since they are poisonous for cats). The only time he is seen eating them willingly is when he and Odie are trying to convince Jon that he's suffering from hallucinations because of too much work. Among the painted walls, zebra in the bathtub and [[NoFourthWall characters from last season]], he immediately screams when he sees "Raisins? GARFIELD EATING RAISINS?!"
** In one episode, after Jon’s date dumps him mid-dinner, Jon gives Garfield her leftovers. He complains after he opens the box and finds salad.
** One episode had Garfield complaining about anchovies in his pizza -- but he does like it in the comics.
*** In ''WesternAnimation/TheGarfieldShow'', his dislike for anchovies is brought up more often and one episode has an entire alien race which hates it because it's toxic for them.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheGhostAndMollyMcgee'':
** It turns out that Molly hates maple syrup, describing it as "tasting like a trees tears".
** Sharon hates carob because it's color and shape tricks someone into thinking it's chocolate until they bite into it. Scratch hates carob, too, but that's because he's allergic.
* In the ''WesternAnimation/GravityFalls'' episode "Irrational Treasure" we learn Quentin Trembley, the eccentric 8 1/2 President of the United States, declared war on pancakes, presumably for this reason.
* In ''WesternAnimation/GreenEggsAndHam,'' it's a RunningGag that no one likes cantaloupe and it's a "garbage fruit." The Bad Guys refuse to get fruit salad in a diner because it's always 90% cantaloupe, and we later learn that one of Guy's inventions is specifically for chucking cantaloupe at people so you don't have to eat it.
* Mighty Ray from ''WesternAnimation/{{Hero 108}}'' hates bananas. Unfortunately, they're the source of his electric powers, so he has to suffer them. Eventually, it's explained that Mighty Ray's original eyes were turned to stone by High Roller and the zebras, so he was given the magical eyes of the monkey god. He tried to get revenge on High Roller, made himself sick over-eating bananas, and developed a hatred for them.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheHive'': Buzzbee doesn't like bananas.
* ''WesternAnimation/JackieChanAdventures'':
** Tohru's dislike for fish is a constant thorn in his side. This may have had to do with a RunningGag where he was often defeated by fish used as an impromptu weapon before his HeelFaceTurn, though he is shown to actually dislike it as food as well.
---> '''Tohru''': [[PunctuatedForEmphasis I.Hate.Fish.]]
** Jade has repeatedly expressed her disdain for mung beans and garlic, which happen to be Uncle's {{trademark favorite food}}s. Uncle once offered her some mung beans while she was waiting for Tohru to bring back take out, she replies "I'll never be that hungry".
* ''WesternAnimation/JimmyTwoShoes'' had an episode where Lucius tries to come up with the ultimate Misery Inc product by having Jimmy test them for him, figuring that if he can find a product that makes the eternally happy Jimmy miserable, it'll make life an even worse hell for the people of Miseryville, and seems to have struck gold when Jimmy runs away screaming from a bizarre flavor of ice cream. Nope, turns out that it just tastes like butterscotch, which Jimmy hates, and his reaction tricked Lucius into releasing a tasty treat.
** Jimmy also can't stand the taste of pickles, to the point that he has a [[AbsurdPhobia severe phobia]] [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes of them ]]and fears being attacked by pickle monsters. ProperlyParanoid in this case, since there's at least one megalomaniacal pickle hag lurking around Miseryville.
** Despite being a BigEater and ExtremeOmnivore, Beezy cannot stand the taste of pizza crust and simply leaves them amongst [[TrashOfTheTitans the trash in his house]]. In fact, one episode had said thrown-away crusts return as a ghost to haunt him, and the only way he could get rid of the ghost was to ''eat it''.
* In ''WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague'', like his comic book incarnation listed above, Grodd ''hates'' bananas.
* ''WesternAnimation/LittlePrincess'': Princess doesn't like broth. Puss the cat doesn't like bananas.
* Just about everyone on ''WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes'' has a problem with onions. Whenever one character is cooking something (like Bugs does in "French Rarebit"), he's told to hold the onions.
* ''WesternAnimation/MarthaSpeaks'':
** One of the babies Truman's mother babysits doesn't like spinach.
** Grandma Lucille doesn't like bacon.
** T.D. dislikes "hot, lumpy porridge".
* Murderface on ''WesternAnimation/{{Metalocalypse}}'' refuses to eat anything shaped remotely like a penis.
* ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic''
** According to "Party Pooped", Twilight Sparkle doesn't just dislike quesadillas, she's ''afraid'' of them. She's creeped out by how cheesy they are.
** Rainbow Dash hates pies. Even those made by [[SupremeChef Pinkie Pie]], which causes quite a bit of conflict in the episode "Secrets and Pies".
* ''WesternAnimation/TheOwlHouse'': Luz Noceda hates milk and dairy products. Justified, as she is lactose intollerant.
* ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb'':
** "Doofapus": Phineas admits that he doesn't care for zucchini. Notably, this was the first time [[CheerfulChild Phineas]] ever explicitly said he doesn't like something, and he's clearly uncomfortable putting it in words.
** In [[WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerbTheMovieAcrossThe2ndDimension the movie]], both Doofenshmirtz and his AlternateSelf express a disdain for rice pudding.
* In the ''[[WesternAnimation/{{Popeye}} Popeye and Son]]'' cartoon, Popeye's son really hates spinach, but forces himself to eat it on occasion since it's as much of a PowerUpFood for him as it is for his dad.
* Jet Propulsion from ''WesternAnimation/ReadyJetGo'' hates ice cream, as revealed in the episode "Mindy's Weather Report". In "Asteroid Patrol", Mindy tried to show Jet how yummy ice cream is, but the ice cream cone Mindy thought was chocolate was actually meatloaf, which made Jet hate ice cream even more. He'd give it a chance if it wasn't "so cold".
* One episode of ''WesternAnimation/TheRealGhostbusters'' featured a man who hated chicken so much he wished all chickens out of existence. The demon he made the wish to was so embarrassed by having to carry out such a ridiculous task he actually ''teamed up with the Ghostbusters'' just to have it undone.
* ''WesternAnimation/RandomCartoons'': The title character of the short "Teapot" hates oatmeal.
* ''WesternAnimation/RegularShow'':
** In "Dead at Eight", Mordecai reacts in disgust upon seeing a carton of almond milk in the fridge. He also says he hates mayonnaise in "Picking Up Margaret" and whole-wheat pasta in "Fries Night".
** Pam (Benson's on-and-off girlfriend and eventual wife) loves chicken wings, but she would ''never'' dip them in ranch dressing.
** Muscle Man hates salad. When Starla wants to go on a diet together in "Last Meal", he gets very anxious about it.
* ''WesternAnimation/RenAndStimpy'': Jerry The Bellybutton Elf hates [[LargeHam '''LINTLOAF?!''']]
* Angelica of ''WesternAnimation/{{Rugrats}}'' loves all cookies except coconut ones.
* ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDoo'':
** ''WesternAnimation/TheNewScoobyAndScrappyDooShow'': In "Scooby's Gold Medal Gambit," the sleuths search for The Chameleon, a MasterOfDisguise who has escaped prison. One of the only details they know about him is that he ''hates'' Worcestershire sauce -- he hates it so much that he loudly exclaims in disgust the moment somebody shows or mentions the stuff, blowing his (otherwise-perfect) disguise every time. Scooby and friends easily [[BeatItByCompulsion Beat Him By Compulsion]].
** ''WesternAnimation/BeCoolScoobyDoo'' The only food both Scooby and Shaggy seen not liking is crubeens and farl in "Giant Problems".
* ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'':
** Mr. Burns may have liked gelatin desserts at one time, but after he makes the mistake of complimenting one of Marge's prior to "There's No Disgrace Like Home", every employee at the plant is giving him them to suck up, and he gets sick of them.
** Neither he nor Smithers seem to like sour quince log chocolates, as shown in "[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS6E25WhoShotMrBurnsPartOne Who Shot Mr. Burns? Part One]]". The sour quince log covers up Homer's face, meaning Mr. Burns is not reminded of Homer and thus does not thank him in the note he sends the Simpsons.
** Homer once declared that radishes are the worst part of salad, which he already considers the worst part of dinner. He also hates anything labelled as low-fat, which ends up saving his life in "Guess Who’s Coming to Criticize Dinner?".
** In "Homer’s Night Out", Bart orders the squid platter with extra tentacles, only to [[GreenAroundTheGills turn green]] and sink into his booth seat once he gets it.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Sixteen}}'': Nikki despises chocolate. Unfortunately for her, she gets bizarre cravings for it when she's having her period.
* In ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'', Kyle claims that he finds bananas repulsive. In fact, he hates bananas more than he hates ''pee''.
* On ''WesternAnimation/TheSmurfs1981'', Gargamel couldn't stand smurfberries. Peewitt didn't like them much either, suggesting they aren't fit for human consumption, although the ogre Big Mouth ''loves'' them.
* ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'':
** In "Pineapple Invasion," while successfully getting into [=SpongeBob=]'s house, Plankton remembers how much he hates pineapple. This is to the point that he considers ''snail litter'' to taste better.
** The episode, "Atlantis [=SquarePantis=]," reveals that Patchy doesn't like mayonnaise. So much so, that he's unwilling to eat it even when starving in the middle of the desert. Granted, it was just a hallucination, but still…
** Almost all the citizens of Bikini Bottom (except for [[ExtremeOmnivore Patrick]]) hate chum, even Plankton, as demonstrated in "Chum Bucket Supreme", where he pretends to eat a strip of chum to fool potential customers for his restaurant.
* ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'' doesn't like "Lion Lickers", partially because they replaced his favorite snack "Cookie Cats". [[note]] [[ADogNamedDog Lion]] seems to enjoy them, though. [[/note]]
* ''Franchise/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles'':
** Pizza may be the Turtles' TrademarkFavoriteFood, but Splinter hates it, at least in [[WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles1987 the 1987 version]]. In fact, in one episode, when he and the Shredder are victims of a FreakyFridayFlip, [[ImposterForgotOneDetail the fact that he was suddenly willing to eat it]] is the first thing to make the Turtles suspicious. At the end of the episode, when the two are supposedly switched back to normal, Michelangelo offers Splinter a slice [[ImpostorExposingTest just to make sure]]. When he is repulsed by it, they're certain it's really him.
** On the flip side, Splinter's personal favorite food is sushi, which the Turtles hate. And for all the outlandish toppings they put on pizza, they draw the line at anchovies. Ironically, fish are natural prey for turtles in the wild.
* According to one episode of ''WesternAnimation/TinyToonAdventures'', all kids and broccoli (used to figure out robot duplicates had replaced nearly the entire cast).
* ''WesternAnimation/WanderOverYonder'':
** Jellyfish Pie may be the TrademarkFavoriteFood of Sylvia, but Wander doesn't like it.
** "The Hole" has Lord Hater [[EnemyEatsYourLunch eat an apple]] in front of Wander while the latter has his finger stuck in a black hole. He admits after doing so that he hates apples, indicating that he only did it because he saw that Wander wanted the apple and that eating it in front of him would upset him.
** "The Sick Day" has Sylvia fill in for Wander's morning routine after he gets sick. One of these involves bringing snickerdoodles to Miss Myrtle, who confesses at the end of the episode that she can't stand snickerdoodles and [[DisproportionateRetribution threatens to destroy the universe if Sylvia doesn't get the cookies out of her sight]].
* Tigger's dislike of honey in ''Franchise/WinnieThePooh''. More apparent in the Disney adaptations than the original novels.
* ''WesternAnimation/WoodyWoodpecker'': "I don't like '''CHEESECAKE'''!"
* ''WesternAnimation/WorkItOutWombats'': In "Brother Day", Malik and Zeke plan a day where they do fun things together, but Malik makes it all about him. For starters, they have grapefruit juice during breakfast, something Malik likes and Zeke dislikes because it's too sour for him.
