On this wiki, "Digital Pinball Table" refers to a {{Pinball}} game that exists only as software, usually running on VideoGameSystems or home computers. Many digital pinballs are characterized by their use of gadgets and gimmicks that cannot exist in a RealLife pinball machine, such as monsters that wander the playfield, teleporting balls, or modes that abruptly change the rules of physics.

While many digital pinballs are created as side projects by video game developers, some companies have found fame focusing on digital pinballs. These include:

* Creator/LittleWing, a two-person Japanese software firm and one of the first software houses focusing on digital pinballs. Almost all of their games are original tables, with realistic designs free from the more fantastic elements of other digital pinballs.
* Creator/ZenStudios: Creators of the ''VideoGame/PinballFX'' and ''VideoGame/ZenPinball'' series of digital pinball frameworks, with numerous pinball tables [[LicensedGame licensed]] from comic book and ScienceFiction properties.
* [[Creator/SilverballStudios Barnstorm Games]] (formerly Cunning Developments[=/=]Fuse Games[=/=]Silverball Studios). With a 3D physics engine that is often praised for its realism, this is the company behind the ''VideoGame/ProPinball'' series of games, as well as {{Pinball Spinoff}}s like ''VideoGame/MetroidPrimePinball'', ''VideoGame/MarioPinballLand'', and ''Frogger Pinball''.
* [[Creator/{{Kaze}} [=KAZe=] Co. Ltd.,]] a former Japanese game developer best known for the UsefulNotes/SegaSaturn pinball titles ''VideoGame/LastGladiators'' and ''VideoGame/{{Necronomicon}}''.

{{Pinball Spinoff}}s are a popular source of digital pinballs. Also see PhysicalPinballTables and LicensedPinballTables. Compare DigitalTabletopGameAdaptation.
