->''"Jacuzzi was angrier than I'd ever seen him. Which means he cried a whole lot more than usual."''
-->-- '''Donnie''', ''Literature/{{Baccano}}''

A character is fighting or screaming or deeply lamenting/angsting, sometimes in [[UnstoppableRage a rage that's frightening to behold]]. At the same time, tears are streaming down the character’s face.

Sometimes this character cries with grief about what just happened that drove the character into the rage. Others show their [[DirtyBusiness regret]] about the [[ShootTheDog harm that they're doing]]. The trope requires a character more dangerous than a tantrum-throwing child, but the PsychopathicManchild, WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds, or a similar character may be extremely physically dangerous while being the kind of emotionally immature person who cries while he throws a (possibly well-provoked) violent temper tantrum. Occasionally they are just overwhelmed by fear, physical pain, and plain horror of battle. It's hard to tell.

Either way, the fight often seems like a last resort to overcome the pain and lash out against this cruel world as a whole. It is usually followed by HeroicBSOD. In some cases, this can accompany a VillainousBreakdown.

Compare RoaringRampageOfRevenge, as that is huge motivation and invitation for this. Compare ScreamingWarrior. Contrast TranquilFury and DissonantSerenity. See also: ManlyTears and BrokenTears.

%%* ''Manga/AngelDensetsu'': "You should not hit a girl"
* The teddybear fighter of ''Anime/AfroSamurai'' after [[spoiler:his mask gets cut down and we find out he's actually Jinno]] a man who ''can not stop crying'' tears of rage.
* In the "No Regrets" {{OVA}} for ''Anime/AttackOnTitan'', Levi makes a rash decision to try and go after Erwin on his own, despite the weather making visibility almost nonexistent, leaving his best friends Isabel and Farlan alone in truly dangerous conditions. As Levi rides out, he runs across the devastation left in the wake of a Titan attack. Upon realizing that his friends are in danger, Levi turns back but is too late. He runs across Isabel's severed head and witnesses a Titan finishing off Farlan. [[UnstoppableRage Levi goes completely berserk and unleashes a truly terrifying assault on the Titan]], drawing out the attack as long as he can while screaming in anguish. After he finally delivers the killing blow, Levi stops and stands above Isabel's remains with his head lowered, and sobs.
* In an episode of ''Manga/AzumangaDaioh'', [[GenkiGirl Tomo]] is pushed over the top and goes [[UnstoppableRage on a rampage in the lunchroom]] with tears in her eyes until she accidentally hits Yukari, simply for the reason that Yomi managed to eat curry noodles without splattering it all over herself. Yukari's [[RedEyesTakeWarning subsequent]] [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown reaction]] must be seen to be believed.
* ''Manga/BattleAngelAlita'': Alita gets these when she believes that some thugs have killed Figure Four.
* ''Manga/{{Berserk}}'':
** Guts gets these during Griffith's horrific crossing of the MoralEventHorizon at the end of the anime. More specifically, after he [[spoiler:''chisels off his own arm'' with a broken sword in order to attack Griffith while he is brutally raping Casca as Femto]]. [[HopeSpot After this attempt to save her fails]], Guts [[spoiler:can only cry streams of blood and tears as he is ForcedToWatch the horrific rape of his lover continue as he gets his right eye clawed out.]]
** In the scene prior to this where [[spoiler:Guts and the Hawks discover Griffith broken and tortured, Guts cries while holding him and then goes... well, ''berserk'' all over the Midland guards holding Griffith captive, killing them in great swaths.]]
** After the horrible, horrible events during the Eclipse and Guts awakens days later, he goes through a monumental FreakOut that consists of many tears, utter despair, bursts of rage, and finally an epic vow of revenge in the rain.
** After [[spoiler:Judeau dies and she's surrounded by apostles, Casca gives one last shot at trying to defend herself by picking up Judeau's sword and charging at the apostles in rage and tears. [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome Though she goes against them pretty valiantly considering the situation,]] Casca is still no match for the apostles as they break the sword and then start discussing [[FateWorseThanDeath what they intend to do with her.]] All Casca can do is stand there utterly petrified, let the tears fall, and say one name: "''Guts...''"]]
* Occurs a few times in ''Manga/BetrayalKnowsMyName'' like with Yuki and Hotsuma.
* ''Manga/BirdyTheMighty'': Birdy combines this with ScreamingWarrior when she [[spoiler:trashes the robot that killed Violeen]].
* Happens in ''Manga/BitterVirgin'' to Daisuke as he defends Hinako from a man who attacked her. Later he berates himself for being "so uncool!"
* Misao of ''Manga/BlackBird2006'' does this during an AttemptedRape scene in volume 3.
* ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'':
** Momo Hinamori has tears streaming down her eyes when she attacks [[DissonantSerenity Gin]], suspecting he killed Aizen, and crosses swords with Izuru when he gets in her way.
** Later, she attacks [[LikeBrotherAndSister Hitsugaya]] when she ''[[DeadManWriting was told in a letter]]'' that he killed [[BrokenPedestal Aizen]]. Yeah, she's [[BreakTheCutie that unstable]] at that point.
** Hitsugaya himself is seen screaming and crying in utter rage and grief [[spoiler:when he realizes that Aizen [[MasterOfIllusion has used his powers to hypnotize him and others]] into ''stabbing Momo to almost death'']].
* ''Manga/ChronoCrusade'':
** Given all the trauma the characters go through, it's a wonder this doesn't show up ''more'' often in the series. That being said, it does show up a few times--most notably when Joshua attacks Chrono in a rage after he finds out about his [[DealWithTheDevil contract]] with Rosette [[spoiler:after witnessing her dying in his arms]]. After his burst of rage, he falls onto his knees, sobbing.
** Not to mention when Chrono attacks Aion in an attempt to save [[spoiler:Mary, but ends up killing her]]. Or Rosette and Joshua's fight in the manga
* A number of the characters in ''Manga/{{Claymore}}'' end up doing this as they get too close to (or surpass) the limit of their Yoma power, in the knowledge that doing so will turn them into monsters. [[spoiler: Well, not ''all'' of the time.]] However, there are entirely different reasons that the Claymores do this during [[ThePurge the Northern Campaign.]] [[spoiler: Not everyone likes seeing all of their friends and allies go down to a forced HeroicSacrifice because [[WellIntentionedExtremist the Organization]] finds them inconvenient.]]
* ''Anime/CodeGeass'':
** In [[WhamEpisode Episode 22]] of Season 1, Lelouch has tears streaming out of his Geass eye when he declares his intention to find and kill [[spoiler:Euphemia, whom he has accidentally brainwashed into killing innocent Japanese people]].
*** He does it again in Episode 46 (Episode 21 of ''R2'') [[spoiler:after thwarting his parents' AssimilationPlot and [[CallingTheOldManOut calling them both out for abandoning him and Nunnally]].]]
** Suzaku immediately tears up when [[spoiler: Euphemia, his love interest,]] is shot and mortally wounded [[spoiler:by Zero, proceeding to fly into an UnstoppableRage to recover her and try to save her life]].
*** He does so again in the final episode, [[spoiler: when ''he'' becomes Zero and [[ThanatosGambit kills Lelouch]]]].
** Kallen is shown with tears in her eyes while fighting in her Guren in a FreezeFrameBonus segment of the fourth opening sequence.
*** In the show proper, when she is trying to kill [[spoiler:Lelouch]] in Episode 49 (Episode 24 of ''R2''), she is noticeably tearing up [[spoiler:as she is wholly prepared to kill her former leader despite how she feels for him]].
%%** Nina Einstein also does this during her FreakOut moment.
* Jeremy from ''Manga/ACruelGodReigns'' usually ends up screaming at Ian and sobbing quite hysterically whenever Ian tries to talk about or help Jeremy deal with some [[RapeAsBackStory unfortunate events that happened to him]].
%%* The whole concept of the ''Manga/CryingFreeman''.
* Daisuke in Episode 13 of ''Manga/DNAngel'' as well as the final episode when he [[spoiler: stops Satoshi from [[BungledSuicide killing himself]], yelling at him to live]]. Also, in the most recent cliffhanger of the manga, Satoshi breaks down in Daisuke's arms. Of course given the context of [[spoiler:Satoshi begging Daisuke to turn into Dark so things can be over, followed by Satoshi putting a gun to his own temple when Daisuke rejects him]] it's also going into tearjerker territory.
* [[spoiler: Matsuda]] in the final episode of ''Manga/DeathNote'' as [[spoiler: [[RageBreakingPoint he empties the clip of his gun into Light]] to stop him from writing Near's name in the notebook, this being after Light finally revealed himself as Kira and mocked his own father's death, who Matsuda idolized. He tries to kill Light on the spot as he lies bleeding out on the floor, but the rest of the task force grabs him, and the bullet misses by a few inches. With everything poor Matsuda's been through, [[BreakTheCutie you can't blame him for snapping.]]]]
* ''Franchise/{{Devilman}}'':
** In the 2018 adaptation, ''Anime/DevilmanCrybaby'', protagonist Akira Fudo is prone to crying. This borders on comedic once when Akira comes across some demons devouring a human. The demons, mistaking Akira for one of their own, tell Akira he is late, as they have nearly finished their meal. Akira immediately begins crying when he recognizes the watches one of the demons is wearing as having belonged to someone he knew, catching the demons off-guard as he transforms into Devilman and violently rips them to pieces.
** Akira cries these tears again in one heck of a tear-jerking scene. [[spoiler: Akira finds Miki's house set ablaze by a mob with the dismembered bodies of Miki and her friends on pikes being paraded in front of the inferno. Akira, still in Devilman form, begins to cry. His anger overtakes him and Akira, tears still streaming from his eyes, [[HumansAreTheRealMonsters calls the humans in front of the fire the real demons]] before incinerating them with his own flames.]]
--->'''Devilman:''' GO TO HELL, YOU MORTALS!
** In the ''Devilman'' spinoff ''Shin Manga/ViolenceJack'', Sirene (who has been reincarnated with a human form, thus making her a partial Devilman) begins crying tears of rage just after being molested by several of the demon-infiltrated New Shu Army's soldiers while in her human form, Killer Sara. She delivers an excellent TheReasonYouSuckSpeech to her attackers, and then begins crying before going all out and murdering every single one she can get her talons on.
--->'''Sirene:''' Sirene!? What the hell is "Sirene"!? Who is this "Sirene"!? My name is Sara! The Sara that you bastards raped and defiled! I... Sara, will never forgive you for treating me as your plaything!! I'LL TEAR EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU APART!
* ''Anime/DragonBallZ'':
** Gohan has a variant of this after breaking through the [[SuperMode Super Saiyan 2]] barrier. What makes it so powerful is the implication that Gohan understands the kind of line he just stepped over to go this far (that his childhood innocence is lost). The implication is backed up by the [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown horrific brutality]] he attacks with in the next episode.
** Happens to Trunks in the Future timeline in ''Anime/DragonBallZTheHistoryOfTrunks'', who cries tears of rage at [[spoiler:Future Gohan's death at the hands of the Androids]] as [[RageBreakingPoint he finally breaks the Super Saiyan barrier]].
* Occurs in ''Manga/ElfenLied'' in Episode 12 by Kouta when Lucy says they're friends so that's why she didn't kill him. Kouta's also crying as he tackles Lucy after she murdered his father and sister and he bangs her body repeatedly into the ground. Lucy gets so upset by seeing Kouta's tear-streaked face that she starts crying too. And Kanae does this as she's lying dead on the ground from when Lucy cut her in half and she had been upset at her brother Kohta for saying that he hates her.
* ''Anime/ErgoProxy'': The [[CharacterTitle series namesake]] often has tears in his eyes after killing. [[spoiler:This is because Ergo Proxy is [[TomatoInTheMirror also Vincent Law]], who is generally a pretty sensitive, weak-willed guy, and he isn't in control of [[SuperpoweredEvilSide this facet of his personality]]]].
* ''Manga/FairyTail'':
** In Episode 190, it happens to Natsu after [[spoiler: Future Rogue kills Future Lucy in front of him.]] And he wasn't just crying, he was [[GlowingEyesofDoom pissed]].
** Happens to Sting when he fatally wounds his {{Jerkass}} guild master for [[spoiler: seemingly]] killing [[MoralityPet Lector]].
* ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'':
** Riza Hawkeye had a little moment when she thought [[spoiler:[[BodyGuardCrush Roy Mustang]] was dead]], complete with [[HeroicBSOD spirit-draining]] finale.
** Doctor Marcoh sheds tears while destroying the Philosopher's Stone inside [[spoiler:Envy]] after being captured by him in his true form.
** Winry does this while she is beating Al with a wrench for accusing Ed of fabricating his memories.
** Tears begin to well up in the corners of Greed/Ling's eyes as he destroys King Bradley's ultimate eye. For context, Bradley is responsible for losses in both of Greed's incarnations, and in Ling's case, Bradley nonchalantly murdered Fu, one of the most important people in his life.
* ''Manga/FushigiYuugi'': Occurs with Tamahome. [[spoiler:Suboshi kills his family, so his powers elevate to a whole new level and he nearly kills the Seiryuu Seishi during his HeroicBSOD. About an hour or two later, Miaka finds him burying his family along with their gifts, and when he turns around, about '''six lines of tears''' were streaming down his face.]]
* ''Manga/FutureDiary'': Yukiteru when he goes crazy and shoots his friends after realizing he can't bring his dead parents back to life. And Yuno and Hinata in the climax of Episode 9. Also, Yuno does this in the anime after Yukiteru calls her a "nut-case".
* ''Anime/GaReiZero'': Kagura, when she kills a bunch of demons after she [[spoiler:killed Yomi]].
* Yuuki of ''Manga/GameXRush'' does this after being stabbed and proceeding to demolish his assailant, although less from the stab wound and more from the traumatic flashback spurred by said stabbing.
* In ''Anime/GaoGaiGarFINAL'', Guy does this when [[spoiler:he is sent into a rage at Mamoru destroying [=ChoRyuJin=], and is forced to use Hell And Heaven with all his might to essentially kill Mamoru, tears streaming down his face all the while. It later turns out that it wasn't the real Mamoru, but that's beside the point.]]
* ''Franchise/{{Gundam}}'': [[AntiVillain Gaelio Bauduin]] in ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamIronBloodedOrphans'' burst out in tears when he knew [[spoiler: his ChildhoodFriend [=McGillis=] [[EtTuBrute betrayed him]] by using Ein's pride to [[ManInTheMachine modify Ein into a Mobile Suit]] as well as [[UriahGambit abandoning Carta]] to have her killed by Mikazuki (whom she's [=McGillis=] lover, to add insult to injury, she called ''[=McGillis=]'s'' name in her dying breath when she's rescued by Gaelio) just to ensnare Gjallarhorn. And knowing that [=McGillis=] will marry Almiria, Gaelio is ''not'' pleased for seeing his nine-year-old sister's life being ruined by a treacherous friend.]]
%%ZCE ** This happens a lot in ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing''.
* ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers'':
** Russia does this in the Bloody Sunday strip, after a heartbreaking soliloquy and before opening fire on thousands of innocent civilians.
** Also the "Cleaning Out the Storage" Chapter, when America remembers how England helped raise him... only to nearly kill the rebellious America during The American Revolution and break down in tears when he can't bring himself to do so. ("You used to be... so big...".)
* ''VisualNovel/HigurashiWhenTheyCry'': Although you can't see it until right after the [[UnstoppableRage rage]] is over, it's apparent that Keiichi was crying in the first arc [[spoiler:while beating Mion and Rena with his bat. Makes sense; he was [[TearsOfFear scared crapless]], and thus killed two of his best friends. Oddly, he was doing it in self-defense -- [[ThroughTheEyesOfMadness or at least he thought so]]. It later turns out that they were just going to marker his shirt as a goodbye present, but he hallucinated that they were trying to kill him]].
%%* ''Manga/HunterXHunter'':
%%** [[BewareTheNiceOnes Gon Freecs]]. [[spoiler: Somewhere, Kaito is crying.]]
%%** Also Killua in Chapter 294.
* Ichi in ''Manga/IchiTheKiller'' always cries during, and after, killing, due to being in a semi-hypnotic trance in which he's reliving being bullied as a child.
* Jo from ''Anime/InnocentVenus'' has the more tranquil variety after piloting his Gladiator. It is said that a Gladiator pilot who doesn't show Berserker Tears, FreakOut, or some sort of negative response after piloting a Gladiator is a monster because of the nature ([[spoiler: PoweredByAForsakenChild]]) of the mecha. Presumably most of the pilots are not in on the secret, but [[spoiler: the children's souls]] manifest as some psychological effect.
* ''Manga/{{Kaiji}}'' does this awesomely during his [[spoiler: E-card battle with Tonegawa, when he cuts off his ear to trick Tonegawa and win the match.]] See also: SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome.
* ''VisualNovel/{{Kanon}}'': When [[spoiler: Sayuri is injured by a demon and hospitalized]], it causes [[EmotionlessGirl Mai]] to completely break down and even [[spoiler: [[DrivenToSuicide try to kill herself.]]]]
%%* ''Manga/KarakuridoujiUltimo'': Rune has these when fighting Yamato in Chapter 11.
* The protagonist of ''Manga/LoneWolfAndCub'' does this a lot near the end of the manga, as he gets increasingly sick of having to kill scores of people who have never done anything to him, just so he can get at the BigBad.
* ''Franchise/LyricalNanoha'':
** In ''Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaAs'', when the Wolkenritter desperately fight Nanoha and Fate near the end of the season. As does Reinforce while trying to kill Nanoha and Fate. And Vita while hunting Linker Cores after Hayate is hospitalized (complete with GrayRainOfDepression). TheMovie makes all of them even bigger tearjerkers.
** Subaru did this during her moment of UnstoppableRage in Episode 17 of ''Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaStrikers''. Nanoha herself also did this, whilst unleashing the most comprehensive [[DefeatMeansFriendship Befriending]] ever on Vivio.
* Taki from ''Manga/MaidenRose'' when he singlehandedly defeats a group of students harassing him in military academy.
* In Episode 88 of ''Manga/{{MAR}}'' Alviss has tears running down his face after being brainwashed by Phantom.
* In ''Manga/MegaManMegamix'', Skull Man sheds these as he prepares to shoot [[FatherlyScientist Dr. Cossack]] after the latter comes to apologize for [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone abandoning him and sealing him away]].
* Naoe of ''Literature/MirageOfBlaze'' does this in the second OVA during his AttemptedRape of Kagetora.
* ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'':
** Katsuki Bakugo cries during his rematch against Izuku Midoriya when he confesses that he blames himself for the end of All Might's career. This is actually the first time he actually shows a softer feeling rather than anger.
** All for One's lieutenant Gigantomachia has an emotional moment when the League of Villains fight him to try and make him submit. However, when Gigantomachia thrashes the League, he breaks down crying over the fact that All for One's successor is so weak.
** In Chapter 337, [[spoiler:normally [[GenkiGirl cheerful]] and [[PluckyGirl upbeat]] Toru Hagakure has this reaction once she discovers that Yuga Aoyama is TheMole of the 1-A Class, and while we only see half her face, we clearly see that she's [[UnstoppableRage absolutely berserk]]]].
* ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'':
** Naruto, in first-stage Kyuubi mode, when he beats up Deidara ([[spoiler:one of those responsible for Gaara's death]]).
** Naruto's also crying in Chapters 228 and 229 as he's having to fight Sasuke at the Valley of the End.
** At the end of Chapter 585 [[spoiler: Kabuto does this as he bisects Itachi, saying that he just wants to become himself and he won't let anyone stand in his way]].
** Ambiguous example in Kakashi Gaiden. After receiving his Sharingan, the previously Kakashi emerges from the rubble with tears streaming from his transplanted eye and proceeds to tear through his team's assailants with his now perfected Lightning Blade. The debate lies in whether this was a physical reaction to the Sharingan being transplanted into his scarred eye socket, or legitimately being overwhelmed by [[spoiler:Obito's death, which he blames on his late arrival in choosing between rescuing Rin and fulfilling mission.]] Kakashi before this moment had been a strict adherent to the Ninja code [[spoiler:after the trauma of seeing his father ostracized and eventually take his own life]], one of which stated true Shinobi never shed tears, compared to his present self teaching that one who abandons their comrades is worse than garbage. The contrast between the two personas and his behavior at the moment suggests the latter. On the other hand, frequent crying was also a trait of Obito, who had been the one insistent on jeopardizing their mission to rescue Rin [[spoiler:and from whom Kakashi received his Sharingan]]. The subsequent fight is either this trope or TranquilFury, depending on if the tears are emotional or physical.
* ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion'': Young [[BrokenBird Asuka]] does this during her MindRape in Episode 22 as she's screaming at her mother "Why won't you look at me?!"
* Asuna in ''Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi'' has these when she snaps temporarily during her fight with Setsuna [[spoiler:due to Albireo picking at her brain and accidentally making her remember Gatou Vanderburg's death momentarily.]] It's only visible in one frame, though, because the rest of the time her face is [[HiddenEyes highly shadowed]].
%%** She also does this in Chapter 352.
* ''Manga/OnePiece'':
** After Arlong screws Nami over [[LoopholeAbuse by having Nezumi steal her money before she can pay him]], the people of Cocoyasi Village decide that [[ThisIsUnforgivable Arlong has finally crossed an unforgivable line]] and march off to rebel against him, [[DoNotGoGentle well aware that they are all going to die in the attempt]]. Nami is utterly powerless to stop them, leaving her to fall on her knees and cry in sheer rage as she stabs the Arlong Pirates tattoo out of her shoulder while [[MadnessMantra repeatedly cursing Arlong's name]]. When Luffy stops her, Nami rants at him to just leave the damn place since her issues aren't any of his business, only to stop after realizing she's powerless to do that, too. At this point she starts crying BrokenTears instead and [[AintTooProudToBeg begs for Luffy to help her]]; he gives her [[SeriousBusiness his hat]] and marches off to Arlong Park with the rest of the crew to [[RoaringRampageOfRevenge tear the Arlong Pirates a new one]].
** After [[spoiler:Admiral Akainu kills Ace]], Whitebeard weeps briefly before giving him a beatdown so epic he splits [[spoiler:Marineford]] in two.
** In general, whenever Doflamingo uses his PeoplePuppets ability to force someone to attack someone else, the controlled people are crying and begging others to run for cover, as they are unable to do crap to stop themselves. Especially notable mentions are [[spoiler:King Riku being forced to slaughter his own people, screaming at anyone to kill him in the process, and Rebecca dashing towards her aunt Viola to cut her down (Thank goodness [[BigDamnHeroes Luffy stopped her in the nick of time]]).]]
** At the Reverie, King Neptune cries as he's about to [[spoiler:pummel the World Noble Charloss for trying to kidnap his daughter, knowing full well that this will ruin his late wife's lifelong efforts to make peace between humans and the sea denizens]]. Fortunately, [[spoiler:another World Noble defuses the situation before it could come to this]].
* In Episode 25 of ''Manga/OutlawStar'' Harry does this right [[spoiler: before he dies]].
* Rumi of ''Anime/PerfectBlue'' does this while watching Mima filming her rape scene and Mima does this during her FreakOut moment in her apartment following filming the rape scene, and as she's running for her life from [[spoiler: Rumi]].
* Happens at one point in ''Anime/PokemonTheSeriesRubyAndSapphire'' when Jessie's hair gets cut off by Seviper, enraging her so much that she starts crying out of sheer unstoppable rage, and starts beating Seviper with extreme brutality, complete with [[GlowingEyesOfDoom glowing]] [[RedEyesTakeWarning red eyes]] on her very furious expression of her face. It gets to the point that [[EvenEvilHasStandards even James and Meowth are absolutely horrified]].
* ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'':
** Episode 10: [[spoiler: Timeline 3 Mami couldn't handle the revelation that magical girls were doomed to become witches after seeing Sayaka become Oktavia, and sought to MercyKill the others with tears streaming down her face. Madoka as well, though she was able to hold her tears back long enough to stop Mami's rampage by killing her before she too bawls her eyes out.]]
** Episode 7 shows [[spoiler:Sayaka]] crying Berserker Tears as she's tearing apart a witch [[spoiler:that looks like her love rival]]. TearsOfBlood. While LaughingMad.
* Lucia, of all people, goes into one of these in the final battle in ''Manga/RaveMaster''.
* Little Deyzune from ''Anime/{{Redline}}'', who becomes impossibly strong when he cries.
* ''Manga/RosarioPlusVampire'':
** Kahlua doesn't merely shed tears -- she weeps and wails in a most unseemly manner, asking "WhyDidYouMakeMeHitYou?" [[LaserGuidedTykeBomb Turns out she's been conditioned to assassinate people on orders]], even against her will. She truly hates being an assassin... and vampires fight not to win, but to kill. In her mind, Kahlua was already mourning her opponent's death.
** Koko explains that the tears 'wash out' her emotions, her love for her family - hence, heartlessly trying to kill her sisters.
--->'''Koko:''' So when the fight is over, she stays pure as ever. I think it's that weird innocence of hers... that scares me more than the darkness in her.
** Fong Fong does this in Chapter 48 of Part 2 while lamenting about how he couldn't protect Yukari from Xia-Long. He also does this as he attacks Xia-Long.
%%** And Routier does this in Chapter 47 of Part 2 while attacking Yukari and Fong Fong.
%%* Kazuma from ''Anime/SCryed''.
* ''Anime/SailorMoon'':
** [[spoiler: Koan]] is screaming and crying as she attacks the Senshi during her heartwrenching VillainousBreakdown. [[spoiler: She gets better, though]]
** Usagi bursts into tears after failing to save her friends from being kidnapped by Rubeus, then angrily turns to Chibi-Usa for taking away her transformation brooch and is on the verge of ''slapping'' her before Mamoru held her back.
* ''Manga/SeraphOfTheEnd'': Yuu in the beginning when he shoots Ferid in revenge for him killing his family.
* Episode 19 of ''VisualNovel/{{Shuffle}}'' features [[{{Yandere}} Kaede]] doing this as she's going crazy at Asa.
* PlayedForLaughs in ''Manga/SlamDunk''. When the HotBlooded protagonist Sakuragi Hanamichi is yelled at by the girl he likes (she thought he'd beaten up the guy she liked), [[SuicideAsComedy he tried to jump off the roof of the building]] while crying. Of course, his friends kept him from jumping and it was never mentioned again.
* Kodai/Wildstar in ''[[Anime/SpaceBattleshipYamato Yamato II]]'', both in the movie and the later TV adaptation. After [[spoiler: Sanada and Marine Sargent Sato]] die in a HeroicSacrifice, Kodai flees back to his ship, tears trailing behind him while he mows down the mooks that get in his way.
* Ginza in ''Anime/SpeedGrapher'' as she's telling her love rival she wants to kill her.
* ''Anime/StrangeDawn'': Eri in Episode 13, though [[{{Narm}} it's hard to take seriously]] since it comes off as more of an immature temper tantrum in her case.
* Exa is noted to be crying during his UnstoppableRage in Chapter 18 of ''Manga/SuperiorCross'' when he [[InternalReveal finally learns]] that his LoveInterest Sheila is (or rather... [[ThatManIsDead was]]) the Demon Lord who slaughtered his home village.
%%* In ''Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann'', when Simon starts crying Berserker Tears, the results are not just epic, but sometimes terrifying.
* Marcos has an epic rampage in ''Manga/TerraforMars''. He screams his heart out and cries while ripping through a crowd of terraformars after [[spoiler:his friend Sheila is killed]].

I bowed my head, blubbering and crying uselessly for a few moments. Then I shrieked and raised the knife before I slammed it home into her chest. Bone creaked and cracked, as the knife pierced through her sternum. Yan convulsed, drawing a gasping breath as her back arched from the blow. I pulled out the knife, a spray of blood following it, and I stabbed down again. I was still crying, cursing her as I stabbed her again, and again, and again, each blow weaker than the last. 200** And when he massacres the Sand People in ''Attack of the Clones''. In fact, just about any time Anakin goes on a rampage he lets loose with the waterworks, to the point where the helmet may have been changed over in ''The Empire Strikes Back'' owing to rust.
** In ''Film/RevengeOfTheSith'''s {{novelization}}, he spouts {{Bond One Liner}}s as he kills the Seperatists. If he cries it's not mentioned, and this is generally interpreted as the book's Anakin enjoying the deed a lot more than in the movie. After all, he's wanted to do this for years.
* In ''Film/AChristmasStory'' Ralphie, unable to tolerate the torment of the vile neighborhood bully Scut Farkus any longer, is overcome with UnstoppableRage and wails on him until both boys are a quivering, sobbing mess (though Ralphie clearly got the upper hand).

* ''Series/BreakingBad'' has Jesse when he's [[DirtyBusiness forced to kill]] [[spoiler:Gale]].
* A variation in ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'', where thanks to a FreakyFridayFlip, [[DarkActionGirl Faith]] ends up beating ''herself'' up while sobbing and screaming that she's a disgusting, murderous b***.
* Piper in the ''Series/Charmed1998'' episode "Hell Hath No Fury" when she finally breaks down and reveals that she is furious with Prue for dying, and then starts to scream and cry and bang on Prue's headstone until she finally just collapses and cries in Leo's arms. Such a well-acted scene that most viewers were able to overlook the flawed psychology of it all.
* In ''Series/DrakeAndJosh'', Josh ends up late for his chemistry exam because of Drake, and when [[SadistTeacher Mr. Roland]] punishes him by [[DisproportionateRetribution making him take a make-up exam next Saturday at 6 A.M and dropping his grades]], Josh bursts into tears and then angrily tries to tackle Drake on the spot for causing him to be tardy.
* ''Series/{{Farscape}}'': The second season episode "The Way We Weren't" climaxes with Crichton and Aeryn making a full-frontal charge on Pilot in order to regain control of Moya. Aeryn has a tear lingering on the very lip of her eyelid during the entire charge. Partially justified as this is one of Claudia Black's signature acting talents.
* ''Series/TheLAComplex'': When ArmouredClosetGay Kal is caught kissing Tariq, he pretends that Tariq initiated it and proceeds to NoHoldsBarredBeatdown Tariq to show his "disgust" and protect his reputation. The beating happens in slo-mo, with Kal crying openly while he does it.

This ends with him yelling "What am I supposed to do?", standing up, and kicking furniture, while tears still fall from his eyes. He then gets into the Impala to make a deal with a crossroad demon.
* In the season 4 finale of ''Series/TeenWolf'' Braeden has a SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome while doing this. Derek has just presumably been killed, and in fury and agonizing grief, Braeden fires shot after shot at none other than the BERSERKERS. Poetic justice. Nice job Braeden.
* ''Series/{{Velvet}}'': Alberto spends an entire episode in this state [[spoiler: after learning he's not the father of Cristina's baby]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Video Games]]
* ''VideoGame/ChicoryAColorfulTale'': Subtle, but when fighting [[spoiler:Chicory]] in Luncheon Tower, small dots of paint can be seen coming out from below [[spoiler:Chicory]]'s screaming face when the ink transforms into it.
* ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'': In III, after Master Xehanort [[spoiler:kills Kairi by turning her body to crystal and shattering her to make the thirteenth key]], Sora flies into a rage, screaming with tears running down his face as he attacks Xehanort.
* [[spoiler: Wheatley]] from ''VideoGame/Portal2'' is an odd example of this. He's a non-humanoid robot, meaning he ''physically cannot cry''. However, during the BossFight against him, he gets increasingly more unhinged as [[spoiler: you continue to corrupt him by placing cores on him]]. After placing [[spoiler: the third core]] on him, he starts to spout angry paranoid ramblings while [[spoiler: lobbing bombs at you]]. What makes this fit into this trope is that after a few sentences, ''his voice starts to break''. [[https://youtu.be/5UGiWGuOvOI?t=9m25s Here]] is the scene. Be careful though, it's ''very'' spoiler-heavy.
%%* Crying Wolf from ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid4GunsOfThePatriots''. It's kind of her thing.
%%* Aishi the Mournful Blade, from ''VideoGame/JadeEmpire''.
* Neku Sakuraba from ''VideoGame/TheWorldEndsWithYou'', after finding out that [[spoiler: Joshua really was the one to kill him]].
* The Wardog Squadron from ''VideoGame/AceCombat5TheUnsungWar'', after [[spoiler: Chopper is killed in combat during a surprise air attack.]] Keep in mind that the Wardog Squadron was so badass, the enemy had named them "The Razgriz", after a mythological demon that is said to rain down death when he reveals himself. When the Yuktobanians actually [[spoiler: kill Chopper]], one of them comments "They're no demons, we can take them!" But shortly afterward, when Wardog starts slaughtering the remaining air force (softly sobbing over the radio while doing it), the Yuktobanians start screaming phrases like "So this is what those demons are REALLY like!" and "Did the demons take them over?!" as they get swatted out of the sky. [[spoiler: Blaze quietly downs plane after plane, Edge is barely restraining herself from jumping out of the cockpit and ripping the enemy forces' throats out with her teeth and along with Archer is barely holding back tears.]]
* Cypher Zohar from ''VideoGame/SilhouetteMirage'', after [[spoiler: Har removed [[AmbiguousGender his/her]] FakeMemories]].
%%* The protagonist of ''VideoGame/ImOk'' does this throughout the entire game.
* Heavy from ''VideoGame/TeamFortress2'' wells up when talking about his gun Sacha, but he also commands the "babies" he's fighting to "cry some more".
* During the final battle of ''VideoGame/Mother3'', Lucas is in tears all the way through because of the realisation that the Masked Man is [[spoiler:his brother, Claus]]. Lucas is unable to attack the Masked Man as a result, until he wounds Flint, Lucas's father, with ''two'' PK Love Ωs. Lucas is then able to brutally attack the Masked Man, dealing large amounts of damage in the process.
%%** Also, [[spoiler:Flint]] does this too, after the great-granddaddy of all tearjerkers.
* ''VideoGame/FireEmblemThracia776'' has Mareeta, who was forced to use the Sword of Darkness, which drives her insane and sends her into a killing spree. Her first victim? ''Her mother''. The villains watching note how tears are streaming down her face as she tries and fails to resist the power of the sword's influence. The fact that her mother refuses to fight back makes it all the more gut-wrenching.
* ''VideoGame/BravelyDefault'': Agnes combines Berserker Tears with her catchphrase to impressive effect when the team is facing down the true BigBad of the game: [[spoiler: Airy the fairy, who she believed to be her friend.]]
--> '''Agnes:''' [[spoiler: We first met on that precipice overlooking the Great Chasm. You had come forth from the Chasm's depths. But you had only just slain us! OUR BLOOD HAD YET TO DRY!]]\
[[spoiler: '''Airy''']]: [[spoiler: Indeed. You have served me well. Now, die a bitter death, knowing you served your enemy.]]\
'''Agnes:''' (almost volcanic with fury and fighting back sobs)...'''''UNACCEPTABLE!'''''
* In ''VideoGame/TatsunokoVsCapcom'', Batsu is unique in that his Level 3 [[LimitBreak Hyper Combo]] involves him and his partner teaming up to attack the enemy in a matter similar to his [[VideoGame/RivalSchools home series]]. However, if his partner is KO'd, Batsu's technique changes to him in tears, charging and firing a ball of energy with the ghostly image of said partner beside him. This isn't just aesthetic: it actually ''causes more damage''.
* At the end of ''VideoGame/{{Lisa}}: The Painful RPG'', due to his EleventhHourSuperpower of [[spoiler:turning into a mutant]], Brad gains the ability to cry in battle which restores his SP.
* ''VideoGame/TheBindingOfIsaac'':
** Played with. While the main character's weapon are his tears, he's clearly crying because he's terrified. Certian pickups, however, make him visibly angry, playing this trope straight.
** In his [[GuestFighter appearance]] in ''VideoGame/BladeStrangers'', he's still constantly crying, but he's seen with an angry scowl more often.
* The BigBad of ''VideoGame/DeadInVinland'' strangely does this after a HopelessBossFight against your PlayerParty at their first meeting shortly after the start of the game -- the implication being that he's a PsychopathicManchild to the point that this is ''normal'' for him even when he's beating up strangers he has no emotional interest in.

[[folder:Web Animation]]
* ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'':

-->'''Tarvek''': Ah--I'm... I'm sorry, you just seemed rather... ''distraught''--
-->'''Vespiary Girl''': Of ''course'' I'm distraught! (still weeping, brains her ''third'' bug in a row, not even looking at it) They hurt ''my weasels!''
* In ''Webcomic/ElGoonishShive'', Grace [[http://www.egscomics.com/index.php?id=532 has these]] while in a berserker rage when she fights Damien. 309* ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'':
** In one particular episode, Aang is so distraught about [[TeamPet Appa]] being stolen that he goes into the [[UnstoppableRage Avatar State]] reflexively, creating a giant, destructive tornado from the desert sand - all while tears are streaming down his face. Katara manages to snap him out of it though.
** Sokka also did this when [[ManipulativeBastard Manipulative Bitch]] Azula taunted him with news of [[spoiler: his imprisoned girlfriend Suki]]. He then proceeded to pin her against a wall with his sword at her throat.
%%** Katara does this as well while taking out a Fire Navy ship in "The Southern Raiders".
* Big Shot from ''WesternAnimation/TheTick'' animated series, a [[CaptainErsatz parody of the Punisher]] is often seen firing off his guns wildly while shedding tears. Sadly, future appearances concerned his psychiatric treatment and eventual pacifism.
