While still on the phone, he and several other passengers then decided to try to crash the plane before it got to Washington. Explaining this on the phone, sending love to his family and taking time to say the Lord's Prayer and Psalm 23 beforehand, Beamer then said "Are you guys ready? Okay, let's roll." We don't know much from there, and vice-president Dick Cheney said we could only guess that "something heroic happened," but the group apparently managed to crash the plane in an open field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
