''[[https://www.youtube.com/user/SuperLPHeroes SuperLPHeroes]]'' is a collaborate LetsPlay channel on Website/YouTube that mostly focuses on races through video games of all ages. Each race consists of three to six people recording in tandem and each segment is a half hour long with the channel usually updated on both Fridays and Saturdays. The rules are simple: No save states, turbo or slowdown and the winner of the race chooses the next game that the group races through (or, if the person wins his/her own race, the runner-up gets to choose what's next). If the group doesn't have any race footage ready for the channel, they'll upload a stand-in video with group commentary over a single-player run of a different game.

----
!!The races provide examples of:

* HundredPercentCompletion: Averted for ''Super Mario 64,'' ''Banjo-Kazooie,'' and the ''Donkey Kong Country'' trilogy. It was optional for ''Mega Man X'' and ''Super Metroid'' (not that a whole lot of people were willing to go for it in the latter).
** Mercifully averted for the racers in ''Banjo-Tooie'' as in-game cheats were allowed and encouraged, cutting the race down to taking less than 2 hours instead of 20.
* TheAce: Everyone specializes in a particular genre.
** [[spoiler:Brightwolfz]] is definitely the one for the ''Donkey Kong Country'' trilogy as he took the hat trick by winning all three of those.
** [[spoiler:[=CaptainTurbo=]]] for ''Sonic'' titles.
** [[spoiler:Gold]] for ''Super Mario'' titles.
** [[spoiler:Dyne]] for a good mix of 8 and 16-bit titles, having grown up with a huge collection of them.
** [[spoiler:Midi]] for racing games.
** [[spoiler:Sinisterkun]] for Classic Mega Man
* AdvancingWallOfDoom: Called out in ''Sonic 3''.
* AliceAllusion:
** Played with in that three different Alices are discussed within a minute: the Alices from ''Series/TheHoneymooners'', ''Series/TheBradyBunch'' and [[Franchise/TouhouProject Alice Margatroid]].
** Played with in ''Castlevania III'' though Sinisterkun refers to "Tweedle Dee" and "Tweedle Dum" rather than Alice.
* AllAnimeIsNaughtyTentacles: Discussed with the fact that the first boss in ''Final Fantasy IV'' after Rydia joins the party is a tentacle monster.
* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: In-universe:
** The dark theory as to why Donkey Kong wears a tie.
** Dyne theorized that Kazooie is really saying "[[{{VideoGame/Persona3}} Strega!]]" when separating from Banjo in ''Banjo-Tooie''.
* AnachronicOrder: In general, there are sometimes instances where the order the races are recorded in do not match the order the races are uploaded in.
** The team mentions recording a race of ''Super Castlevania IV'' during Part 6 of ''Adventure Island II'' and reference it even though it hadn't been uploaded yet.
** ''Streets of Rage 2'' was recorded before ''Felix the Cat'' and ''Metroid: Zero Mission'', but two latter were uploaded first due to Gold having all of the racers' footage of them before having everyone's from [=SoR2=]. As of the latest update, it is slated to go up after ''Mario Kart 64''.
** As of ''Chrono Trigger'', the group had recorded footage for ''F-Zero X'' and ''Metroid'', but they weren't ready for upload.
* AnalogyBackfire: Dyne compares the close race between Sinisterkun and [=CaptainTurbo=] in ''Super Castlevania IV'' to how close he and Gold were during ''Yoshi's Island'' and Gold chimes in with, "But Sinisterkun wasn't even in ''Yoshi's Island''."
* AreWeThereYet:
** People asking the one in first place if they've beaten the game yet in ''The Lion King'' and ''Adventure Island II'' just so the pain would end.
** Also happens a lot when nearing the end of a part in case the group decides to either extend the video or go another part.
* ArbitraryHeadcountLimit: While people are allowed to join in a race if they so wish, there can only be a maximum of 6 per game.
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny:
** Averted. Gold doesn't let Skype or Facebook messages distract him in the middle of a race.
** Happens to Dyne in ''Super Metroid'' by getting distracted by his stream chat and accidentally wasting all of his missiles on a group of enemies that all die from one regular shot.
* BadassBoast:
** "I am going to keep this lead and expand on it. I'm going to win this race." [[spoiler:He does]].
** "That's all for this video, we'll catch you back next time-" "When I win!"
* BagOfSpilling: Discussed in ''Mega Man X2''.
* BerserkButton:
** Turbo is from Sheffield, not London. Get it right!
** Lexi gets annoyed at anyone who talk badly or is not experienced with the Zelda franchise
* BewareTheNiceOnes: If Gold gets angry at a game then you know it's NintendoHard.
* BigNo:
** Brightwolfz unleashes several consecutive ones in ''Super Mario World''.
** Green Thorne is the master of the "Machine Gun No" as well.
** Dyne firing off several prior to his SkywardScream moment in ''Buster Busts Loose''.
* BigYes: Sometimes immediately followed by a BigNo instead.
* BigWhat:
** Part 3 of Yoshi's Island when Dyne learns the key he needed was back at the beginning of the level.
** Sinisterkun has a great one when the Let's Play curse hits him in ''Sonic 2''.
** Three consecutive ones when the team learns Mark is in second place during ''Ninja Turtles''.
** The reaction to Turbo dying 20 seconds into the ''Power Blade'' race.
* BizarreAlienBiology: Lexi leads a discussion on how Spore Spawn could even exist in ''Super Metroid''.
* BladderOfSteel: [=CaptainTurbo=] doesn't let things like needing to use the bathroom interrupt him during a race.
* BorrowedCatchphrase:
** Jokes related to Ixzion's RunningGag of "I wanna see my ending!" from LetsPlay/LetsRaceWithRPGM pop up now and then.
** Gold uses Dyne's, "And dead," a lot in ''Kirby's Dream Land 2''.
* BrainBleach: InUniverse, when Kyle mentions that Yakra "pulled a Anime/SailorMoon," Dyne reminds everyone that the transformation sequences in the anime have the girls naked. Once the two ideas are connected, everyone tries to unsee the image.
* BreakTheHaughty:
** Sinisterkun goes into ''Sonic 2'' with full confidence of winning. [[spoiler:He gets more game overs than the rest of the team and ends up in last place by the end of Part 2]].
** Becomes a RunningGag in ''F-Zero'' when Sinisterkun proudly announces his time only for Midi to announce a better time. Sinister [[BlatantLies takes it well]].
* BrickJoke:
** Set up during the lost ''Castlevania IV'' recording as Part 1 ends with the group singing Music/MichaelJackson's "Beat It" and Part 2, which the youtube viewers would have seen a day later has Dyne belting out Music/WeirdAlYankovic's "Eat It."
** Combined with MoodWhiplash at the end of Part 2 and the start of Part 3 of ''Castlevania III'' with Dyne's hysterical sobbing and then switching back to normal tone.
** The group quotes ''Film/TheRoom2003'' in Part 2 of ''Mischief Makers'' and its followed up with a reiteration with Dyne using his Kefka voice for the movie lines in Part 4.
** Part 5 of ''Final Fantasy IV'' ends with Dyne standing on the surface of the moon. Come Part 6, it begins with him voicing the party clamoring for air after having held their breaths for three weeks between recording sessions.
* BuffySpeak:
** Dyne falls into this three times when trying to describe the same thing in ''Yoshi's Island''.
** Happens again in ''Super Metroid'' when talking about the "standy-uppy guys" and "hidey corners."
** "Giant swingy spikey thing hitting me in the face!"
** "Die! Dairy Queen-wannabe thing!" in ''Kirby's Dream Land 2''.
** "I finally hit that launch pad that launched me over that damn... thingy!"
* ButtMonkey:
** Sinisterkun usually is in the races he participates in, especially when Dyne and/or Turbo are also in.
** Gold often defaults to this in every other race, especially in recent years. Not helping matters is he always shows up in every race, regardless of whether or not he has any understanding of the game in question.
* ByNoIMeanYes:
** This exchange in ''Kirby's Adventure''.
--->'''Dyne:''' No, I do not want Ball! It is the most worthless power-up in this game.
--->'''Green Thorne:''' Whoa, Ball is amazin- Ball is horrible.
--->'''Dyne:''' [[BreadEggsBreadedEggs Horribly amazing]], gotcha.
** "OhCrap, I didn't need to come in here! Or did I? I remember fighting this guy in practice."
** "No, they don't take more hits. ...Or maybe they do."
** Inverted in ''Circle of the Moon'':
--->'''Dyne:''' Hmm, how about we get a hearty, refreshing Brain Float[[note]]the name of a monster[[/note]] after this race?
--->'''Mark:''' Yum! Er, no. Disgusting!
* CallBack:
** Gold does this most often in terms of recalling events from the original team's races back when the channel first started.
** "It's ''Yoshi's Island'' all over again!" in terms of how close Gold and Dyne are in Part 1 of ''Kirby's Adventure''.
** "Remember, you're surrounded by 14-year old boys," in ''Castlevania III''. A reference to ''Super Metroid''.
** "Sounds like someone fell down a cliff." "No, the scream would be much longer, like what happened in ''Mystical Ninja''."
** The SeriousBusiness discussion on exactly what kind of meat is in the walls of ''Castlevania III'' returns in ''Castlevania IV''.
** Gold is very disappointed with his performance in ''Pitfall II'' and Turbo says, "Now you know how I felt in ''Sonic 3''."
** "''Pitfall II'' is ''Power Blade'' all over again!"
** Mark makes a hilarious connection back to Lexi's claiming to secretly being Sinister's wife from ''Adventure Island II'' during ''Wizards and Warriors'' after Sinister calls her "Woman!"
** When Dyne uses his Creator/SeanConnery voice for Frog in ''Chrono Trigger'', Mark calls back to his using the same voice for Morris in ''Circle of the Moon''.
* CallForward: Dyne had beaten ''Yoshi's New Island'' shortly before the ''Yoshi's Island'' race and compares a lot of tweaks made to the new game's mechanics to the original.
* TheCameo: Dyne's gotten into the habit of breaking out his popular [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVI Kefka]] voice once or twice per race he's been in lately.
* CaptainObvious:
** Gold is the most prone to being this.
** A humorous example from ''Buster Busts Loose:''
---> '''Mark''': Does anyone know the trick with the jump rope?
---> '''Sinisterkun+Dyne''': Jump.
* CatchPhrase:
** Sinisterkun owns, "Sucks to be you!" and "Deuces!" (and "Shut up, woman!" whenever his wife {{Troll}}s him).
** Dyne tends to quip, "And dead," whenever the player character dies or is about to die on the group commentary videos. His GratuitousJapanese victory expression is also catching on as one as the team fully expected it in ''Kirby's Adventure''.
* TheChewToy: [[spoiler:Sinisterkun]] is the game's in the ''Sonic 2'' race.
* ClipShow: The "Best Of" videos for every 10 races.
* TheComputerIsACheatingBastard: Invoked during the Ball event of ''Mischief Makers'' Level 3-10 where the game throws 5 red balls for every 1 white.
* CurbStompBattle:
** ''The Lion King'' vs. Sinisterkun, [=CaptainTurbo=] and Dyne. [[spoiler:The game]] wins.
** [[spoiler:[=CaptainTurbo=]]] delivers one to the rest of the group in ''Sonic 2''.
** [[spoiler:Dyne]] immediately becomes the favorite to win ''Super Metroid'', especially after [=Raziel99=] had to forfeit due to technical difficulties.
** The group expected Turbo to deliver one on ''Ninja Turtles'' but Mark does a very good job in staying close behind.
** [[spoiler:Dyne]] was fully expected to win ''Mischief Makers'' so he told the viewers to watch everyone else for a closer race.
** [[spoiler:Turbo]] delivers one again to the group in Alex Kidd.
** [[spoiler:Mark]] runs away with ''Super Empire Strikes Back'' by the end of the first part.
** [[spoiler:Mark]] pretty much leaves the pack behind only a few minutes into ''Metroid Zero Mission''.
* CurseCutShort:
** "Oh, you pain in the aaaaaeear...!"
** "Holy... cow!" "I thought you were going to say something else," in ''Kirby's Dream Land 2''.
* DamnYouMuscleMemory:
** In the ''Super Mario Kart'' race Dyne quickly realizes that it doesn't play like later games in the series.
** Joked with in ''Super Metroid'' in that Dyne was used to playing a graphics hack version.
** Happens to Dyne again in the NES ''Metroid'' when he drops down a shaft to pick up a missile expansion that's in ''Zero Mission'' but not the original.
* DeadpanSnarker:
** [=CaptainTurbo=] has a few good moments of this. He explains he's a sarcastic person in general in Part 3 of ''Super Metroid''.
** Dyne has several moments during ''Castlevania III,'' especially in response to Green Thorne.
* DejaVu: [=MidiGuyDP=] gets strong vibes of the fight against Prince Froggy from ''Yoshi's Island'' during the mini-bosses in 4-3 of ''Mischief Makers''.
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment:
** "Press Start to... start." in Part 3 of ''Banjo-Tooie''.
** "On to 3 Clancer Kids. It's the one where you have to retrieve the 3 Clancer kids."
** In ''Circle of the Moon'', Mark states, "[''Vampire Killer''] is the Observatory music. It plays in the Observatory."
* DesignatedHero: Discussed in-universe about Marina in ''Mischief Makers''.
* DespairEventHorizon: InUniverse, Sinisterkun apparently crosses it at the end of ''Kirby's Dream Land 2,'' especially as he can be heard banging on his keyboard.
* {{Determinator}}: Despite going in blind on a few and declaring she wants to give up a lot, Lady Lexis still has yet to RageQuit a game.
* DistinctionWithoutADifference: "You just made it to Float Islands?" "No, I just made it to the second area of Float Islands."
* DoesNotUnderstandSarcasm:
** Gold. A lot.
** After Gold is the butt of yet another joke early in ''Final Fantasy IV'', Dyne and Turbo suggest implementing a "Gold Burn Counter," to which he replies he doesn't have any burn marks on him.
* DoomyDoomsOfDoom: Mark talks about Duck Vader's Death Ray of Deathly Death in ''Buster Busts Loose''.
* DontExplainTheJoke: Gold has the tendency to explain jokes and running gags from earlier videos when they get referenced in later videos.
* DrivenToSuicide:
** In the form of drowning a lion cub by the time ''The Lion King'' ended.
** Lady Lexis has invoked this in every race she's been in so far.
* DubNameChange: It takes Gold a bit to realize that Kid Ying is Goemon's name ''only'' in the US version of ''Mystical Ninja''.
* DudeNotFunny: InUniverse:
** After Lady Lexis suggests punching the baby.
** Dyne to himself after the "Does that mean you were gay before?" joke in Part 1 of ''Castlevania III''.
** When Paris fails to cross the line twice in ''Circle of the Moon'' by turning a wife beating joke into a child abuse joke. He readily agrees it wasn't funny.

* EverythingTryingToKillYou:
** [=CaptainTurbo=] invokes this with "Why does everything keep eating me?!"
** Brought up in musical fashion in Part 6 of ''Adventure Island II''.
** Gold takes this concept a bit too far and continually attacks the innocent women in ''Mystical Ninja'' without realizing that you aren't supposed to attack them until being told otherwise.
* EvilLaugh: Sinisterkun and Dyne break them out now and then, especially when the latter pulls out his [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVI Kefka]] voice.
* EvilSoundsDeep: Dyne gives Golbez a very deep voice for ''Final Fantasy IV''.

* GoddamnBats:
** Invoked in-universe just to [[LampshadeHanging add it to this page]], though actual bats were involved at the time.
** The pink frogs in ''Adventure Island II'' are named as such, especially Turbo cursing them out with an uncharacteristic '''voice of doom'''.
*** If the game has a frog enemy, it will no doubt be the bane of at least one racer's existence. Averted in ''Final Fantasy IV'' as the path they take avoids the optional dungeons with the frog enemies.
** The bats are Dyne's worst enemy in the second run of ''Castlevania IV''.
** Invoked literally during ''Wizards and Warriors''.
* GoshDangItToHeck: Utilized in an attempt to keep the channel PG. Doesn't always work.

[[spoiler:Averted in the end, he makes a near-flawless comeback through World 6]].
** Averted for [=CaptainTurbo=] on the second run of ''Castlevania IV'' as his intention was to beat Dyne after losing 2nd place to him on the first run.
* HaveAGayOldTime: Played with as Lady Lexis asks Sinisterkun not to use "that word," he asks what it was (faggot) and Dyne answers back with one of its other definitions as, "a bundle of sticks."
* HeKnowsAboutTimedHits: Averted in Sinister forgetting how to do timed blocks at the start of ''Mario RPG''.
* HeroicBSOD:

** A small exscript from the Magic Sword Race: Turbo; Don't forget I'll be owed about 15 seconds since I'm have to stop to record the cal. Sinisterkun; It won't matter. [[spoiler:It matters, they both beat the final boss within seconds of each other]].
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Gold would have solidified 2nd place in ''The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle'' if he had not insisted in extending the race for one more part, especially as he already had a clear enough lead from 3rd at the end of Part 3. Instead, he got stuck at stage 59 and [=DeadZergling=] passed him to take 2nd.
* HollywoodToneDeaf:
** Dyne knows he's not a great singer but loves to do it anyway.

** Dyne's many "Justice Man" jokes in ''Mega Man Rock Force'':
--->"What kind of name is Justice Man, anyway? It just is, man."\

"What do you want in your drink? Just ice, man."\
"I can't follow the plot. Will somebody tell me what the gist is, man?"\
"He's the villain? Surely you jest us, man!"\
"Take him apart, chop him up, and serve him with a side of au justice, man!"\
"That's done. Who wants to unwind with a classic game of ''VideoGame/{{Joust}}''? Us, man!"

** Even after Green Thorne drops out of ''Banjo-Tooie'' to do something else, he stays in the call with his mic on, so a lot of what he's doing in the background gets picked up.
** An unusual example during ''Hook'' in that Dyne had not played the game in a long time and still had cheat codes turned on. He quickly disables them and starts over.
** Two different pronunciations of "Guardian" in ''Chrono Trigger'' with the first syllable being "Guard" or "Gourd."
* JumpScare:

** Dyne has a lot of fun with this when breaking out his Kefka and Simon Belmont voices.
* LateArrivalSpoiler:
** Inverted. Dyne streams his race footage during recording sessions, so anyone who watches those broadcasts can learn who wins those races from the commentary before the main race videos are compiled and uploaded to youtube.
** Also played straight in watching a newer race will often have someone mention who won a previous race.
* LateToTheParty: Green Thorne joins the group and plays along during the second half of ''Adventure Island II'' even though he didn't join the actual race.

** The original ''Super Metroid'' and ''Super Castlevania IV'' races count as this as the group has decided to start over and re-record it at a later date. Dyne was able to stream the recording sessions of both and they are available on his channel, but the tropes still apply.
* MadnessMantra: Dyne could only just repeat "What?" after one of his deaths in the ''Wario Land'' race when he walked off a ledge and the forward momentum didn't carry Wario into another opening.
* {{Malaproper}}: Sinisterkun calls the Energy Tanks in ''Super Metroid'' "Reserve Tanks," despite having already gotten one of the actual Reserve Tanks during the race.
* ManOfAThousandVoices: Dyne carries this over from his channel.
* ManlyTears: [=CaptainTurbo=] literally cries tears of happiness after clearing the second ostrich in level 2 of ''The Lion King''.[[note]]He had been practicing the game for the entire week prior to the race and still had not cleared that portion until when he does so on camera.[[/note]]

** Raziel reprised this role and [=BloodyThunderX=] joined in for ''Banjo-Tooie'' as well.
* MisterExposition: Gold for his tendency to spend a lot of time explaining various race mechanics or rules.

** Multiple reactions to Gold's thinking Sonic and Tails were boyfriend and girlfriend.
** The reaction to Gold comparing Cerberus to a chameleon due to his color change mechanics in ''Circle of the Moon''.
* NoIndoorVoice: Sinisterkun can out-yell the rest of the racers combined. Based on his wife and daughter in the background at times, it runs in the family.
* NoobBridge:
** The TropeNamer catches at least one of the racers during the lost ''Super Metroid'' race.
** Happens to Lady Lexis in ''Super Metroid'' as she immediately forgets to manually advance the prologue text and again when she doesn't realize that doors need to be shot to be opened.
*** The funny thing, however, is the actual bridge does ''not'' trap her.
** Sinisterkun ''thinks'' he's in the TropeNamer room in Part 3 of the second ''Super Metroid'' race, but that only led to confusion.
*** It's actually ''inverted'' for him in Part 4 when he tries to diagonally shine spark (a move that most first-time players have no clue about) across a chasm when he simply needed to do a regular speed boost-assisted running jump.
* NotSoStoic:

* OnceDoneNeverForgotten:
** It will be a long time before [=GoldGlee=] is forgiven for ''The Lion King''.
** Though the rage at that has been redirected towards Sinisterkun for ''Adventure Island II'', mostly because it took 9 parts compared to ''Castlevania III''. Turbo even later threatens to fire him from the group during ''Alex Kidd'' if he thinks of choosing another ''Adventure Island''.
** Averted with [=CaptainTurbo=] choosing ''Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'', again because it was less than half as long.
* OneDialogueTwoConversations: Happens in Part 3 of ''Sonic 2'' when Dyne announces his reaching the boss of Wing Fortress Zone and Sinister immediately says, "You gotta be kidding me!" but in response to something on his own screen instead. 598* ParentalAbandonment: Discussed in ''Final Fantasy IV'' as to what happened to Palom and Porom's parents. They decide the parents didn't want to keep [[TotallyRadical Palom]].
* ParodyDisplacement: In-universe as the team begins to sing ''American Pie'' but Dyne doesn't know the full lyrics so he sings Weird Al's ''Star Wars: Episode I'' parody version instead.
* PetTheDog: The team playing through ''Sonic 2'' as an unofficial race for [=CaptainTurbo=] since it's a game he's very familiar with as compared to many of the games they've raced.

---> '''Dyne''': ''[as Wario]'' "Wario is going to take great pleasure in killing this ''fucking'' bird!"

* PunctuatedForEmphasis: "Yes! I. Win. Take. That! Fuck. You!"
* TheQuietOne:
** [=CaptainTurbo=] started off as this, both in terms of not saying as much as the rest of the group (but mostly in games he's not familiar with) and being the least prone to yelling.
** Sinsterkun literally during ''Sonic 2'' and ''Kirby's Dream Land 2'' as he's very hard to hear due to lowering his mic volume to cut down on background noise.
** Captain Turbo was completely mute for the entire Streets of Rage 2 race due to a audio issue where his commentary wasn't picked up on recording.
* RageQuit:
** [[spoiler:[=DjMo12=]]] in ''Kirby Super Star & Sonic 1,'' [[spoiler:Brightwolfz]] in ''New Super Mario Bros. Wii'' and [[spoiler:Sinisterkun]] in ''Sonic 2''.
** [[spoiler:Green Thorne]] in ''Banjo-Tooie''.
* RakeTake: Turbo describes how this once happened to him with a shovel. Fortunately it only grazed his cheek.
* RapeAsComedy: Invoked by Dyne as he's caught by Elmyra in a ''Tiny Toons'' game he's playing off-camera during Part 3 of ''Kirby's Dream Land 2''.
* RapidFireInterrupting: Happens to Gold a lot, especially early in ''Mega Man X2''.

* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech:
** The group got one from a viewer of the ''Super Metroid'' recording session asking to stop comparing themselves to LetsPlay/LetsRaceWithRPGM (the channel that inspired Gold to start this one).
** Lexi gives an indirect one to Sinisterkun during ''Power Blade'' when stating that people who randomly insert the words "douche bag" into things aren't funny.
* RedOniBlueOni:
** Sinisterkun is the red to Dyne's blue when it comes to each other.
** Sinisterkun considers Lexi and Thorne another pair of this.
* ReferenceOverdosed:
** If Dyne's seen it, he'll reference it.
** Played up even more during the ''Hook'' race as he quotes the movie at every opportunity.
* RhymesOnADime: "Die more, boar!" in ''Kirby's Dream Land 2''.

** Turbo and Mark for a slew of different games.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: Lexi has vowed bloody vengeance on several of the designers for the games she's gone into blind.
* RuleOfThree:
** ''Castlevania III'', ''Banjo-Tooie'' and ''Ninja Turtles'' are done in a row and all of them are finished in three parts.
** Dyne also yells, "Ah!" three times at the start of Part 2 of ''Mischief Makers'' though the 3rd time wasn't necessary.
** Subverted in ''Wizards and Warriors'' as Paris does his "Because I'm Batman!" twice and sounds like he's about to do it a 3rd time but instead says, "Because Skype is evil!"
* RuleThirtyFour: Invoked after Dyne mentions having a hard time finding clean images of mermaid Yae during ''Mystical Ninja''.
* RunningGag:
** [=CosmicMetaKnight=] received the nickname of "Peach" early on and it stuck, even after changing his handle to [=RedemptionsEdge=] and it really got milked during ''Super Mario Bros.'' with the quotation of [[YourPrincessIsInAnotherCastle "Our [=CosmicMetaKnight=] is in another castle."]]
** "X faster!" and referring to Kamek's toadies as "Social Services" in ''Yoshi's Island''.
** Any ShoutOut to another channel is not advertising, otherwise the racers would be getting paid for it.
** Using various transformation phrases for when Yoshi transforms into a vehicle in ''Yoshi's Island''.
** Referring to the ''Yoshi's Island'' as a ping-pong match between Gold and Dyne as the former will get ahead when Dyne gets lost and Dyne gets ahead whenever Gold dies.

** "Die!" "You don't belong in this world!" comes up a lot in ''Castlevania'' games.
** Mostly seen in group commentary videos rather than races, but a running gag of Gold having a gambling addiction and needing an intervention carries over from his channel.
** Marina's "Shake! Shake!" CatchPhrase gets a few tweaks during ''Mischief Makers''.
** Gold has the tendency to compare easy bosses to Bear Hugger from ''Super Punch-Out''.
** Dyne quoting Dennis Nedry's "Ah, ah, ah! You didn't say the magic word," whenever Sonic does his finger wave in ''Sonic 3''. Acknowledged as an OverlyLongGag by the end.
** Pointing out how many elements in ''The Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout'' have absolutely nothing to do with the source cartoons.
** During ''Final Fantasy IV'', Dyne says, "This is where I'm going to get lost," for several dungeons.
*** The exchanges of, "Kweh?", "Kweh.", "Kweh!"
*** Coming up with crazy conspiracy theories PlayedForLaughs on how unrelated series manage to secretly connect with the game.
** "'''THREE EXTRA LIVES!'''" whenever someone happens to get [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin three extra lives]] either all at once or within a short span of time.
* RussianReversal: "In Soviet Russia, hammer drops you!" in ''Castlevania IV''.
* {{Sadist}}:
** Sinisterkun demonstrates shades of this by talking about his choice of ''Adventure Island II'' being "a slaughter" and a "punishment" towards the others. He also laughs at several of Turbo's deaths.
** The group has a discussion about subjecting Green Thorne to evil games such as ''I Wanna Be the Guy'' and ''Super Meat Boy'' just to witness his reactions during ''Banjo-Tooie''.
* SanitySlippage:

** [[spoiler:Sinisterkun]] slowly loses it over the course of ''Sonic 2''.
** Happens to everyone who participated in ''Adventure Island II''.
** Again to everyone in ''Castlevania III'', but it's mercifully shorter.
** Green Thorne during ''Banjo-Tooie''. One person says, "He's snapped and become the disciple of Kefka."
** Sinisterkun has some very noticeable moments of this during ''Castlevania IV''.
** Dyne loses it more and more every time his bonus round spins land on the Furball mini-game in ''Buster Busts Loose'' courtesy of it taking the most time.
* SarcasticConfession: Dyne towards Sinisterkun at the end of ''Super Metroid'' prior to calling him "[[GratuitousJapanese Aho]]!"
* SayMyName:
** "Cooooooooooooooooooooo!!!"
** "FURRBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALL!!!"
* TheScrappy: In-universe:

** Sinisterkun has several crowning examples in ''Ninja Turtles''.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Part 4 of ''Mystical Ninja'' ends a couple of minutes early since the standings had been solidified.
* SdrawkcabName: In ''Chrono Trigger'', Dyne renames Marle as Adina, a simple anagram of her real name, Nadia.
* SecondPlaceIsForLosers: Averted. Racers are often more disappointed with their shortcomings that cause them to fall behind 1st place rather than not winning.
* SelfFulfillingProphecy: Dyne did two practice runs of ''Yoshi's Island'' between Parts 4 and 5 of the race and falls into a few traps during the race he warned himself about in the practice runs.
* SequenceBreaking:
** Employed very... little in the first ''Super Metroid'' race, which makes sense as none of the racers had ever done a speed run of the game before.
** Played straight in the re-race though as Dyne and Turbo had done a few practice runs between the two races.
** Sinisterkun attempts this in ''Castlevania: Circle of the Moon'' by attempting to clear the Underground Waterway without the Cleansing. [[spoiler:He fails.]]

* [[SirNotAppearingInThisTrailer Sir Not-Appearing-In-This-Race]]:
** Dyne sort of takes this role when he joins the ''Adventure Island II'' and ''Banjo-Tooie'' commentary at various points but it's more making quips while doing his own thing.

* SinkOrSwimMentor: ''Super Metroid'' becomes this for Sinisterkun the moment he saves his game in the wall-jump tutorial area.
* SkywardScream:
** Dyne does this to vent after his flawless run of Rainbow Road is ruined when turning the last corner of the track on the final lap, then again when the same thing happens in the ''Super Circuit'' version.
** Also does the infamous "[[VideoGame/MegaManX4 What am I fighting for?!]]" line during ''Mystical Ninja''.
** His cry of "Furrbaaaaaall!" in Part 2 of ''Buster Busts Loose'' is epic.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: Played straight with Drakmanka until Lady Lexis joined the channel.
* {{Squee}}: Dyne is playing ''Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 3DS'' during the ''Banjo-Tooie'' race and he does this twice when encountering the Pookas from ''Dig-Dug'' and the Mad Taxi from the ''Mother'' series in-game.
* TheStarscream: "Kefka" fires Gold and declares himself the new host after Gold messes up Dyne's into CatchPhrase in ''Buster Busts Loose''.
* StockScream: Sinisterkun told Dyne that he sounds like Stormtrooper when he screams at an in-game death in ''Sonic 2'', but he can't quite pull off the Wilhelm Scream.
* StupidCrooks: Dyne points out what a lousy bank robber Montana Max is in ''Buster Busts Loose'' by wearing no kind of disguise and giving his name very loudly to the sheriff.
* SuddenlyShouting: Dyne's done this a couple of times. Once after a failed FlawlessVictory in ''Super Mario Kart'' and in response to a very {{Narm}}ish movie line from the background in ''Mystical Ninja''. %%invoked
* SurferDude: The accent is poked fun at in ''Adventure Island II''.
* SuspectIsHatless: "What part of the forest are you in?" "Uh... there are trees," from ''Alex Kidd in Miracle World''.
* SuspiciouslySpecificDenial: Sinisterkun loading state when meaning to save state and saying, "Not like it bothers me none."
* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome:
** Discussed with how a real life RakeTake could break a person's nose.

** Quoth [=PsychoticRanboob=], "Hey everyone, it's {{LetsPlay/Chuggaaconroy}}! I'm going to scream now!"
** Dyne declares the, "Character gained a level," messages that appear every level if a character levels up multiple times in one battle in ''Final Fantasy IV'' almost as bad as drawing spells in ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVIII''.
** One of Dyne's stream viewers compared Kain to Anakin Skywalker in the ''Star Wars'' prequel films. Dyne immediately declared that an insult to Kain.
** ** "I love the Roc Wing. [[Film/TheWizard It's so bad.]]" "You mean like the Power Glove?" "Yes, but this is actually useful."

* TookALevelInBadass:
** [=CaptainTurbo=] takes one for ''Super Metroid'' as, during the original race he did very poorly. Between that and the re-race he beat the game twice and does much better in the re-do.
** Another for him in the second ''Super Castlevania IV'' race as he became a strong contender for 1st place over the course of the whole thing.
* TranquilFury: Dyne tries to maintain this during ''The Lion King'' but [=CaptainTurbo=] does a better job maintaining it overall.

** Dyne often enters this territory when ribbing Sinisterkun if his wife isn't already after him.
** Dyne again in ''Power Blade'', even though what he'd planned didn't quite work out.[[note]]Pretending to be further behind than he actually was then, after someone else beat the final boss, he'd have said, "ILied, I already beat him a few minutes ago."[[/note]]
