pokecapn is a [[LetsPlay Let's Player]] from the Website/SomethingAwful forums. His [=LPs=] usually contain guest commentary from his friends: LetsPlay/{{Medibot}}, LetsPlay/KungFuJesus, [=IlluminatusVespucci=], [=NoTimeForSocks=] AKA Condit, and [=MyNameIsKaz=]. pokecapn is most well known for his [[LetsPlay/SonicTheHedgehog2006 Let's Play of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)]]. Afterward, he and his friends pursued [[LetsPlay Let's Plays]] of other ''Sonic'' games, as well as a board from each ''VideoGame/MarioParty''.

Their videos can be found on [[https://www.youtube.com/user/pokecapnLP YouTube]], and formerly their own site, [=DiscoShiny=], which is now defunct and Viddler, which while it hasn't gone defunct yet his videos are no longer there.

He also did some livestreams of the ''VideoGame/MetroidPrime'' trilogy, as well as a whole bunch of Xbox Live Indie Games, which disappeared with the collapse of KFJ's website.

Creator/TwistedPixel commissioned him and the Posse to do commentary on their Kinect game ''VideoGame/TheGunstringer'', making him a PromotedFanboy of sorts.

Notable games they have LP'd as a group:

* ''VideoGame/ShadowTheHedgehog'' ([[MissingEpisode vanished off the face of the Internet]])
* ''VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog2006'' (their LP of this game has [[LetsPlay/SonicTheHedgehog2006 its own page]])
* ''VideoGame/SonicUnleashed''
* ''VideoGame/SonicAndTheBlackKnight''
* ''VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog4''
* ''VideoGame/SonicColors''
* ''VideoGame/ShadowComplex'' ([=KungFuJesus=] manned this one, with pokecapn only joining in during the aftergame material)
* ''VideoGame/MarioParty'' (1-8, with HouseRules and they tally up their amount of stars throughout all games; started again with 9, where they do two maps)
* ''VideoGame/SonicShuffle'' (As the stinger to the Mario Party marathon.)
* ''VideoGame/SonicGenerations''
* ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIII2'' (Kung-Fu Jesus is heading this one, with pokecapn serving as one of his guest commentators along with posse regular [=MyNameIsKaz=], plus Mio Bison and Dreamsower. [[spoiler:LetsPlay/{{Medibot}} is also present, but for unknown reasons they refuse to speak until several videos in.]])
* ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaFourSwordsAdventures''
* ''VideoGame/{{Guacamelee}}: Super Turbo Championship Edition'' (livestreamed by himself with medibot co-commentating in some episodes)
* ''[[VisualNovel/AceAttorneyInvestigationsMilesEdgeworth Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Prosecutor's Path]]'' (livestreamed by himself without any co-commentators, only available on his Twitch highlights page)
* ''VideoGame/ShovelKnight'' (livestreamed with medibot co-commentating and giving him tips)

They also livestreamed assorted games to raise money for new recording equipment, in an event called "Stupid Games Done For Money." The LP's have been posted [[https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPZd8MPtv0vhTyfNN2nkhpr6oAJwaaUPm here]], and include:

* pokecapn playing ''VideoGame/{{Sonic the Hedgehog|2006}} [[VideogameDemake 2D]]'', "Sonic the Floathog" (VideoGame/{{Sonic 3|AndKnuckles}} with the foreground layer disabled), and ''Yoshi's Cookie'' with medibot
* My Name Is Kaz playing ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaIISimonsQuest'', ''[[VideoGame/CastlevaniaIIIDraculasCurse Akumajou Densetsu]]'', and a SpeedRun of ''VideoGame/SuperMetroid''
* LetsPlay/{{medibot}} playing "[[VideoGame/SuperSmashBros Sunset Rubdown]]" (Subspace Emissary [[SelfImposedChallenge minus buttons]]), and ''VideoGame/WarioWare: Smooth Moves'' live on camera
* And LetsPlay/KungFuJesus playing ''VideoGame/GitarooMan'' and ''VideoGame/GodHand''

If you're looking for the [[LetsPlay/SonicTheHedgehog2006 Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 Let's Play]], it's on a separate page.

!List of tropes:

[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:Pokecapn and crew]]
* AllLowercaseLetters: pokecapn and medibot's usernames. Most of pokecapn's video descriptions and Website/YouTube comments follow suit, though his Something Awful posts do not.
* ArtifactTitle: pokecapn's own handle, as he has never discussed Franchise/{{Pokemon}} at large in his videos. As he himself puts it, "[[OldShame things change in 12 years, but screen names are forever]]".
* {{Beergasm}}: Regular samplings of high quality liquor are now apparently part of their tradition.
* BerserkButton: [[http://www.formspring.me/kazeugma/q/367006061355356441 Sand]] as an obstacle in video games is a big one for Kaz.
* ButtMonkey: Kung-Fu Jesus just can't catch a break. Especially in ''Mario Party''. He does a little better in ''Four Swords Adventures'' but still doesn't win anything.
--> '''Kung-Fu Jesus:''' Welcome to losing. It's where I've been all game.
** He finally places first in World 8-2 of ''Four Swords Adventures''. The comments on the video are overjoyed.
* CallBack: Circumstances in the games they play have a comedically eerie habit of allowing for repeat jokes.
* CharacterCatchphrase:
** pokecapn: "He's back and he wants you," in reference to any element in the game that comes back later or constantly. Or those that appear in one game and came back in a later game.
** He's also extremely fond of the word 'diss' when someone/something screws up.
** ''GROSS!'" often shows up when they see a tricky platforming challenge, are faced by an obstacle designed to make them suffer or fall victim to a GameBreakingBug that kills them.
*** In a similar vein are "HORRIFYING!" and "NASTY!" which see much play in ''Sonic Unleashed''.
* CloudCuckoolander: medibot
* DeadpanSnarker: Kung-Fu Jesus, with particular emphasis on the deadpan part. He's got one heck of a CreepyMonotone.
-->'''KFJ:''' Please, give me more heart attacks. I haven't had nearly enough.
* FanDumb: InUniverse. They had a run-in with the WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic FanDumb, where they freaked out over a minuscule reference towards the show. And this was a little side comment.
--> '''Medibot:''' "You're not playing as Sonic, you're playing as [[ComicBook/XMen Mystique]], but she turned into Twilight Sparkle, [[{{Pun}} that's why you're sparkling.]]
--> '''Kung-Fu Jesus:''' Oh, she's [[Literature/TheTwilightSaga Vampire]] [[TakeThat Mystique]].
** Needless to say, pokecapn wasn't pleased about medibot inadvertently opening the floodgates to Bronies.
--> '''pokecapn:''' it has come to my attention that medibot has hacked my Let's Play from the inside out, lacing my commentary with [[TakeThat bestial filth that attracts Undesirables and spam.]] none of your account information has been compromised and i thank you for your understanding
* [[GigglingVillain Giggling]] [[AntiHero Anti-Hero]]: pokecapn, particularly during the Tower of Winds in ''Four Swords Adventures''.
* {{Greed}}: pokecapn ''is'' Wario, and he plays to ''win'', especially in ''Four Swords Adventures'', where pokecapn is willing to fight the others for Force Gems and has no problem with stealing them. Usually this just involves racing the others to Force Gems and looting their corpses when they die, but in one episode he actually ''attacks'' KFJ in order to steal the Big Key he was holding and claim the 1000-gem prize from the Big Chest for himself.
* HatesBeingTouched: Kung-Fu Jesus, apparently, given his reaction when Kaz picks him up during the Tower of Winds in ''Four Swords Adventures''. Granted, he was probably inebriated at the time...
* INeedAFreakingDrink: [=KungFuJesus=], at least for the LP videos where he had enough of the game's problems (Mario Party 5, for instance.)
* ManOfAThousandVoices: [=MyNameIsKaz=] tends to throw out voices a lot. He dubs for Professor Pickle in ''Sonic Unleashed'', and recurring examples from ''Mario Party'' include normal and "master of devils" Daisy and an eerily accurate Yoshi, sometimes [[Series/SesameStreet mixed with Elmo]].
** Kung Fu Jesus deserves mention as well, particularly for his deep roles such as Solid Snake Shadow and a Vincent Price-like Bowser.
* MissingEpisode: The Posse's first LP was not ''[[VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog2006 Sonic 2006]]'' but actually ''VideoGame/ShadowTheHedgehog''. However, the video files have since been lost, and the Posse didn't enjoy the LP enough to redo it.
* NeverMyFault: As some of the viewers note, since VideoGame/SonicUnleashed, the Posse has, on multiple occasions, been unable to figure out a mechanic for a boss fight or a level [[FailedASpotCheck even if they dealt with it before in the same level]], and, upon figuring it out, blame their inability to figure it out on the game.
* RealMenCook: The crew has mentioned the food they are cooking during some of their playthroughs, such as chili dogs for Sonic Unleashed and "medieval stew" for Sonic and the Black Knight. During their "Stupid Games Done For Money" stream and KFJ's subsequent ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIII2'' LP, there is mention made of sublime homemade ganache.
** There's a video of them preparing a Kraft Cheesy Skillet.
* RunningGag: "The x touched", usually involving round objects.
* SharePhrase: "Mother of shit!" This carries over into LetsPlay/{{Medibot}}'s [[PrecisionFStrike work]] as well.
* TeamChef: When they aren't cooking something as a group (see RealMenCook), they're usually munching on some kind of delicious-sounding baked good made by Kaz.
* TwoAliasesOneCharacter: PlayedForLaughs (probably). pokecapn and medibot live a double life as professional ''Yoshi's Cookie'' players pcn[[Anime/DragonBallZ Vegeta]] and mdb[[XtremeKoolLetterz REQoyl]], while Kaz takes on the identity of the Global Yoshi's Cookie League's commentator HDDB Dog's Breakfast. [[RunningGag #SupportEsports]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Sonic games]]
* {{Angrish}}: Although not the the same extent as in ''LetsPlay/SonicTheHedgehog2006'', pokecapn is still aggravated enough by some of the levels in ''Sonic Unleashed'' to temporarily lose his grip on the English language.
-->'''pokecapn''': Oooooohhhh...''Ooooooooohhhhhh''...'''It butters my ice cream!'''
* BigNo: In ''Sonic and the Black Knight'', upon discovering that the Lady of the Lake is [[spoiler:Amy Rose]].
* [[spoiler:BookEnds: References to the Sonic And The Black Knight LP and the Horse Alarm story]] in the Sonic Generations LP.
* ButtMonkey: The group has trouble figuring out how to defeat the Time Eater in ''Generations'' when, halfway through their second attempt, Vector suggests that they head for its core. This revelation is enough for them to figure out how to win on their third attempt. The next time Vector has a line, they mock the idea that he's helping and reference the computer room line from ''VideoGame/ShadowTheHedgehog''.
* CallBack: During the fight against [[VideoGame/SonicUnleashed Perfect Dark Gaia]], KFJ mixes up a GargleBlaster called the [[VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog2006 Iblis Trigger]], consisting of Everclear and NOS energy drink (specifically the 5-hour energy shot variant) mixed together in a 1:1 ratio and [[IncendiaryExponent set on fire]].
** Also during the Unleashed playthrough, at one point they change the batteries in the recording device, which causes pokecapn to worry if the machine is still recording properly or if they've accidentally caused themselves to lose a recording session, something that happened in the Sonic 2006 playthough, with Medibot cheekily pointing out that they lost some great Shadow commentary. This bothers pokecapn constantly for ten minutes straight until they take a break to check it - luckily, it's working perfectly this time.
** [=MyNameIsKaz=] has a habit of describing every item pokecapn earns in ''VideoGame/SonicAndTheBlackKnight'' using his Professor Pickle voice from the ''Unleashed'' LP. Medibot concludes it's a mental illness he has.
*** Also during the same LP, Kaz and pokecapn remind medibot that the items in this game do, in fact, have names, and that there's no need for them to name them like they did every single collectible in the ''VideoGame/SonicUnleashed'' LP.
** In VideoGame/SonicGenerations, before entering Speed Highway, the game asks if they want to see a tutorial on Light Dashing, which pokecapn dismisses because he feels he knows how the Light Dash works by now. KFJ then reminds him about all the trouble the Light Dash in VideoGame/SonicColors gave them (see RunningGag).
* CharacterCatchphrase:
** "Terrifying!", "Horrifying!" and "GROSS!" pop up a lot in ''Unleashed''.
** As does "The illest!"
** "That Sun/Moon medal was, in fact..."
* ConvectionSchmonvection: Lampshaded by Kung-Fu Jesus in [[VideoGame/SonicUnleashed Eggmanland]].
-->"Eggman, another thing I wanna talk about is lava: it's cool to look at and and cool to see in videos, but not cool to be within, like, 500 feet of.
* CountryMatters: Used in episode 24 of Sonic Unleashed and immediately lampshaded by medibot.
-->'''medibot''': Kung-Fu Jesus, you can't say that word on the Internet!
* FailedASpotCheck: In [[VideoGame/SonicUnleashed Eggmanland]], they spend '''nine minutes and fifty five seconds''' ignoring bright luminescent pink panels in a room with infinitely spawning robots. Then they do it again in the next room that has the same gimmick, primarily because they escaped the first room ''by complete accident''; they didn't even notice when they revealed the lever that opened the door.
** In episode 4 of ''VideoGame/SonicAndTheBlackKnight'', they spend the entire video repeatedly failing a mission that requires using Soul Surge in the air to defeat 10 enemies. None of the people in the room noticed the enemy counter on the left side of the HUD until the end of the video.
* InsurmountableWaistHighFence: pokecapn lampshades Sonic Unleashed's use of this trope in the first episode of that LP.
-->'''Kung-Fu Jesus''': You can't jump over that little "Keep Out" sign?
-->'''pokecapn''': Oh, no way, man - it's made of solid ''rope''!
* LetsGetDangerous: "Let's get frisky", for when Sonic enters Unleashed mode.
* LetXBeTheUnknown: A "mysterious guest commentator" makes a cameo in the Sonic Unleashed marathon. He is given the code name "X" by Kung-Fu Jesus.
* MundaneMadeAwesome: Episode 35 of ''Sonic Unleashed'' is titled "The Power of Thinking", and features this as a RunningGag.
-->'''pokecapn''': Only pro thinkers can think this fast!
* NotTheFallThatKillsYou: After falling and dying in the clock tower in the first nighttime Rooftop Run, Kaz comments that Sonic probably wouldn't die if he didn't scream on the way down.
* {{Portmanteau}}: The word "chufty" (a combination of "chubby", "buff", and "hefty" - but actually a diminutive of "chuffleguff", coined by [[CloudCuckoolander medibot]]) is used to describe large enemies frequently in ''Sonic Unleashed''.
* TheReveal: Kung-Fu Jesus' real name, [[spoiler: Kurt]], is casually dropped by medibot during an episode of the ''Sonic Unleashed'' LP. It's [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] shortly afterwards by KFJ himself, noting that it's probably the first time his name has been said on camera. [[spoiler: It actually wasn't, it had been said before on camera, and on his website. Of the four main group members, only pokecapn still hasn't been named on camera.]]
* RunningGag: In the VideoGame/SonicColors playthrough, the Hover Wisp powerup enables you to perform a light dash. Because the group didn't know this feature (due to not paying much attention to the hint ring that comes with the hover wisp), ''There's DEFINITELY a light dash'' or some variation on that phrase is commonly said when light-dashy long trails of rings are spotted, yet nobody has a clue that Hover has something to do with it. They do, however, revisit the fans' top acts and do it correctly.
** Ever since [[LetsPlay/SonicTheHedgehog2006 the infamous LP]], ''VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog2006'' is always referred to as [[TheScottishTrope "that other game"]].
*** And like the aforementioned LP, anytime barrels are around, they bring up "[[Franchise/DonkeyKong Sanford Kong]]".
** Starting around ''Unleashed'', Sonic games introduced bosses and enemies that fire bullet patterns like those found in [=2D=] shooters. Whenever the group encounters them, expect calls of "BulletHell!" and "Franchise/TouhouProject!" It does seem medibot has at least played ''Imperishable Night'', as the Dark Gaia Phoenix boss resurrecting mid-battle gives them flashbacks of Fujiwara no Mokou doing the same in her own game's Extra Stage.
*** Also from ''Unleashed'', due to unforeseen circumstances, the crew have started always checking behind the Goal Ring for collectibles before touching it.
*** [[RuleOfThree Also from]] ''[[RuleOfThree Unleashed]]'', medibot giving individual names to ''[[CollectionSidequest every single collectible in the game]]'', a la "The Great Cave Offensive" from ''VideoGame/KirbySuperStar''. A few of the names are pretty standard, but most are [[MindScrew really frickin' weird]] (some of the more bizarre examples include "{{Creator/George Lucas}}'s creativity", "The year 1961", and "The hopes of every child in the state of Kentucky"). You can view the whole list [[http://lparchive.org/Sonic-Unleashed/Collect/ here]].
*** Eventually Kung-Fu Jesus lampshades the sheer randomness of the medals' contents when one of the medals allegedly contains every girl medibot's ever asked out on a date.
-->"Now you're just making stuff up."
** "[[AllThereInTheManual Robotnik's deadly]] [[VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog3 speed traps]]" when they come across a tough obstacle or a glitch in the level.
** KFJ drawing comparisons to ''VideoGame/SuperMarioGalaxy'' and calling ''VideoGame/SonicColors'' unoriginal. Eventually Pokecapn shuts him up by pointing that the gravity gimmick he was going on a tangent about showed up as early as Sonic 3.
* SpecialGuest: [[SmurfettePrinciple K1wi]] in the LP of ''VideoGame/SonicAndTheBlackKnight.'' While Kaz fans will be more familiar with her as she's guested on his stream, as well as his ''VideoGame/OdinSphere'' and ''VideoGame/GrimGrimoire'' [=LPs=], others will likely be completely baffled, especially since she hasn't been in a single other pokecapn LP before [[ChuckCunninghamSyndrome or since]].
* StartOfDarkness: In the Sonic '06 playthrough, the part where the Goons reach Radical Train (Episode 10) is easily this. Up until that point, the Goons were aware that Sonic '06 was a bad game, but it wasn't ''too'' terribly unplayable. [[ThisIsGonnaSuck They were completely unprepared for the absolute amount of anguish, suffering, and poor level design that was Radical Train.]] It takes them almost an hour to complete the level, and most of their commentary during that time consists of pathetic, animalistic babbling, [[ClusterFBomb profuse cursing]], or expressing disbelief at just how profoundly broken the entire game is.
** They do manage to improve a little bit after completing Shadow and Silver's storylines. Then comes [[ThatOneLevel The End]] [[OhCrap of]] [[NothingIsScarier the World]]. [[SanitySlippage The more perceptive amongst you can figure out what came next.]]
** Their slippage began long before that. Episode 14 is where the madness begins to set into the four Goons.
* {{Squee}}: When they come across a [[MythologyGag duplicate]] of the [[VideoGame/Sonic3AndKnuckles original Robotnik's deadly speed trap]] in ''VideoGame/SonicGenerations'', they all cheer and Pokecapn sets down the controller for a few seconds so they can enjoy it.
* ThisIsGonnaSuck: Surprisingly subdued from them dealing with Crisis City in ''VideoGame/SonicGenerations.'' They do, however, go through great lengths not to remember that other game while playing it.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mario Party]]
* TheAce: Between 2 and 4 (and up until LetsPlay/{{Medibot}} won again in 5), it was pretty much a given that pokecapn would win the game.
* AllAnimalsAreDogs: The posse's reaction to a Wiggler falling on its back after a boss fight in ''9'' is to want to rub its belly for being in "submissive position".
* AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent: medibot's Luigi and Kaz's Peach are replaced by Waluigi and Daisy at the beginning of the third game.
* {{Arc Word|s}}: Grapes.
* BadassBoast
--> '''medibot:''' You were expecting a game with some semblance of fairness to it? [[Webcomic/BrawlInTheFamily Too bad, Waluigi time!]]
** And:
--> '''medibot''' (in response to pokecapn during [=MP2=]): I'll crucify you!
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Near the beginning of ''Mario Party 8'', one commenter lamented that the group shouldn't let the LP end with one of the worst games of the ''Mario Party'' series. pokecapn's enigmatic response was the trope name. And, sure enough, they did another game after ''8''. Yes. ''VideoGame/SonicShuffle''.
* BigShutUp: Done by Kaz to medibot in ''Mario Party 5'' after the latter accidentally removes the former's Chain Chomp capsule from the game. It's PlayedForLaughs initially, but coupled with the painful-sounding slap they receive from Kaz in the same video, it actually causes medibot to grow despondent and eventually to [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness stop talking altogether]].
-->'''medibot''': You can't use capsules anymore. No more capsules for the rest of the ga-
-->'''Kaz''': '''Shut the fuck up!'''
* BreakTheHaughty: Their game of "10 To Win" is a by-the-numbers example for Kaz.
* ButtonMashing: Kaz has surprising skill at it (Having exchanged his luck to the devil for it), leading to several awesome moments for him, whether obliterating pokecapn's domino-setting record or leaving Donkey Kong offscreen in a vine-climbing race. It's a big help for him in ''Mario Party 5''.
* CantCatchUp: Most of the time (especially in the minigames) the only real competition is between pokecapn and medibot, leaving Kaz and Kung-Fu Jesus in the dust (''especially'' Kung-Fu Jesus.)
** Fortunately, by the time 5 rolls around, Kaz starts making headway in the mini-games, and though it takes longer, even Kung-Fu Jesus starts winning more often.
* CharacterCatchphrase:
** pokecapn: Variations of "shitlord", "Get some!" (often as a sort of concentration mantra) and "Got it, coach!", "Just get in the plane!" (used in annoyance where one would normally say "Shut up" or something similar.) or "Big Money, no whammies, STOP!"
** At the beginning of each game, each player introduces themselves, the character they're playing, and often a catchphrase, in this order:
*** "I'm pokecapn, I'm playing as Wario and I'm playing to win!"
*** "I'm Kung-Fu Jesus, I'm playing as Yoshi, and I don't know what's going on."
*** "This is medibot, and I'm playing as Waluigi, the People's Champion!"
*** "And [=MyNameIsKaz=], and I'm playing as Daisy, MASTER OF DEVILS!"
** Kaz: '''POWER OF DEVILS''' and "Ha! Try to beat that, suckers!" during the initial dice roll for turn order.
* CliffHanger: Used for Part 4/5 of ''Mario Party 9''
* CrossPlayer: Kaz, first as Peach, then Daisy, then Amy.
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: This exchange from ''Mario Party 7'':
-->'''pokecapn''': ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyX''?
-->'''KFJ''': ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyX''!
-->'''pokecapn''': Is that the game with Yuna in it, the anime of my dreams?
-->'''KFJ''': That is the game with Yuna in it, the anime of your dreams!
-->'''pokecapn''': Who's Yuna?
-->'''KFJ''': [[OverlyLongGag She's the anime of your dreams!]]
-->'''pokecapn''': Okay!
* DespairEventHorizon: Occasionally seen done by the player in last place, most often Kung-Fu Jesus, but the stand-out example is medibot at the end of ''Mario Party 5'', where they go over a dozen turns with almost no commentary. While winning.
** The length of the Mario Party 5 playthrough alone was enough to send half the posse into this, with KFJ falling into an intoxicated mess and medibot giving the silent treatment for the tail end of the LP, obviously sick of the game by then. By contrast, pokecapn and Kaz continue to take the playthrough in stride.
* {{Dissimile}}: From pokecapn in ''9'':
-->'''pokecapn''': It's a team effort, but we're all working against each other.
* DownToTheLastPlay: [[spoiler:By strategically landing on a red space on the last turn of Mario Party 8, pokecapn snatches the overall win from medibot at the last possible moment.]]
* TheEeyore: Kung-Fu Jesus slowly turns into this over the course of the LP series, finally culminating in Mario Party 5 where he finally just says "Screw it," [[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments gets drunk, and proceeds to stop giving a shit.]]
* {{Foreshadowing}}: From ''Mario Party 2'':
-->'''Kung-Fu Jesus:''' I can't wait until you're not Luigi.
-->'''medibot:''' ...Why would I ever want to be ''not'' Luigi?
* GoddamnBats: {{Invoked}} by the boards, especially Mario Party 4.
** The Goombas who kick you back to the start if you don't score a higher roulette number than them in Mario Party 4 were beaten only a few times in the entire game, leading to everyone simply abusing Mega Mushrooms in order to rampage past them.
** One of the unforeseen consequences of their capsule policy in ''Mario Party 5'' is a thick Klepto infestation on the right side of the board that keeps bunching up the group whenever encountered.
** And on the left side of the board is a pair of rolling boulder traps that send everyone on that path back to the right side of the board, and that are almost always landed on.
* HourglassPlot: At the start of ''Mario Party 5'', Kung-Fu Jesus is bitter and pessimistic and Medibot is their old kooky self. By the end, Kung-Fu Jesus is drunk and loopy and Medibot is silent and wishing that the game would just end.
* HouseRules: They play all the minigames without the instructions beforehand, which they refer to as [[VideoGame/WarioWare Wario Party]]. Handicaps are assigned each game based on previous star and coin totals in varying ways. In their ''Mario Party 5'' board, they're required to put a capsule on any available empty space to turn the entire board into a literal game board, and as of ''Mario Party 7'', they are required to use items if available.
** The first one results in a very convenient coincidence when they get to ''Mario Party 8'', which they are quick to point out. Not only is it the first Wii installment of the series, but it completely lacks the option to turn off the minigame instructions. However, you must actively click through the tabs to see the instructions, which they avoid. All they get to see is how to hold the Wiimote, just like in ''Wario Ware: Smooth Moves''
* InherentlyFunnyWords: Weaponized by Kung-Fu Jesus in Mario Party 7.
* LetsGetDangerous: medibot's '''DARK METAMORPHOSIS''' into Waluigi in ''Mario Party 3''.
* MarathonLevel: ''Mario Party 5'', which was a 50-turn long game, as opposed to the usual 20-turn games. It definitely took a toll on them.
* MaybeMagicMaybeMundane: Kung-Fu Jesus's [[{{Seers}} precognition]].
* NoBudget: medibot posits that this is why there is only one star in each level in ''9'', for the superstar.[[invoked]]
* NoJustNoReaction: The posse's general reaction to Kaz's [=Yoshi/Elmo=] impression during ''Mario Party 7''.
-->'''KFJ''': Stop that right now! Or you'll go to bed without dinner!\
'''pokecapn:''' What is the sound of 3000 mice clicking "Unsubscribe"?
* NoYou: At the onset of one of pokecapn's turns in Mario Party 6, medibot uses Waluigi's "You're lousy!" taunt, prompting:
-->'''pokecapn:''' No, ''you're'' lousy!
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: [=MyNameIsKaz=] won ''Mario Party 7''! Due to a handicap miscount, meaning he didn't receive a proper victory sequence or anything.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: medibot, in ''Mario Party 5''. After spending more than a fifth of the game completely ''mute,'' the first thing they say makes it perfectly clear that they are '''''fuming.''''' Which, in turn, leads to another OOC moment where Kung-Fu Jesus puts the entire LP on hold and sincerely asks medibot to speak up and see if they're alright. Despite medibot's answer, [[spoiler:("I don't want to be here.")]], the LP resumes as normal.
** Kaz, along the same lines. He gets uncharacteristically mad during parts of ''5'' and ''6'', including the incident that causes medibot to fall silent.
* OrphanedPunchline: The first thing anyone watching hears in ''Mario Party 6'':
-->'''medibot:''' ...this whole cow.
* PowerupLetdown: In ''Mario Party 4'', Kung-Fu Jesus purchases a Mini Mushroom early on, and proceeds to receive ''nothing but Mini Mushrooms'' for the remainder of the game. At no point does he have the opportunity to pass through a door or access a board gimmick using one.
* RedBaron: medibot is the People's Hero. Kaz's Peach is the Silent Killer, and his Daisy is the Master of Devils.
* RunningGag:
** [=MyNameIsKaz=] triumphantly shouts "Ha, _! Try to beat that, suckers!" when rolling to see who goes first, no matter how high or low he actually rolls.
** The group abuses its Series/Batman1966 reference privileges in ''Mario Party 4''.
** [=MyNameIsKaz=] and 'I wanna play Bowser's Big Blast!' [[spoiler:He finally does in Mario Party 8 and is the victor.]]
** ''6'' and ''7'' include an unlockable taunt for Waluigi: "You're lousy!"
** Every time a Battle Mini-game comes up, pokecapn hopes that everyone pays 50 coins for the entry fee.
** Anytime a mini-game involves plants and/or flowers (and sometimes even when it doesn't), medibot will tell everyone that they are a botanist.
** In ''5'', Kaz and KFJ dueling people (usually pokecapn) for a single coin, and pokecapn's increasingly frustrated reaction each time it happens.
* ShoutOut:
-->''(After Kung-Fu Jesus has been talking about what he's drinking)''
-->'''pokecapn:''' Who do you think you are? [[LetsPlay/TippingForties Bandunk? Kuvo? Marvelis?]] ...the fourth one?
** To the G.I. Joe's [=PSAs=] in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2F6ZndzpaYg&t=1m50s this video]].
** One of Pokecapn's catchphrases references ''Press Your Luck:''
-->Big money, no Whammies, STOP!
* StealthPun: When playing ''VideoGame/SonicShuffle'', medibot selects E-102 Gamma as their character, justifying it as the robot choice. However, it's worth mentioning that the Greek letter gamma is written as Γ, the same as the symbol of their previous choice Waluigi.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Kaz unleashes one on medibot in the final video of ''Mario Party 5''.
-->'''Kaz''': You despicable child. I cannot believe you. After all of this, you get offended at basically nothing because you are just an ass. That is fucking amazing.
** For the record, the "nothing" in question was Kaz smacking them for the third time that party over something rather minor.
* TranquilFury: medibot during the last few turns of Mario Party 5. The 50-turn playthrough was indeed too much for them to bear.
* WhamLine: From Mario Party 5, the first line medibot says after a very long period of silence:
-->[[spoiler:'''''I don't want to be here.''''']]
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: Especially when it's the '''power of devils'''. It becomes particularly pronounced when Daisy uses a Mega Mushroom in ''4''.
* YankTheDogsChain:
** After a lengthy history of losing, Kung-Fu Jesus comes surprisingly close to being the winner of ''Mario Party 7''. However...
** Kaz lands on a golden space on his first roll through a newly-arranged mansion in ''Mario Party 8'', taking him to a path of gold coins with a star at the end. Another player reaches the normal star and gets him kicked out before his next turn.
*** This happens to Kaz a ''lot'' throughout the series, enough for him to know that he would be prevented from travelling the "golden road".
*** Similarly, the "coin on every space" Last 5 Turns bonus is discarded one roll later.

[[folder:The Legend Of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures]]
* AmbiguousSyntax:
-->'''KFJ''': [[ItMakesSenseInContext Certain dogs explode.]]
-->'''pokecapn''': What happens to ''un''certain dogs?
* BerserkButton: Getting lifted up nonconsensually for Kung-Fu Jesus. At one point he embodies the perfect example of the trope when he starts mashing his controller and exploding into {{Angrish}} when Kaz picks him up.
* ContinuityNod: In the first part of the LP, Kaz expresses his horror that a [[VideoGame/MarioParty handicap option]] exists.
* FailedASpotCheck: In part 2-2, the crew all fail to notice when a house suddenly appears on the main screen while they were looking at their GBA screens. This leads to them wandering around for several minutes before pokecapn looks at a guide and learns that the way out is through the house that appeared.
* {{Griefer}}: Each of the crew lapse into this during gameplay at times, with KFJ taking the lead. Special mention goes to a point a giant bomb is about to go off, but the team can't advance unless everyone moves offscreen at the same time. When KFJ is about to move along with them at the bomb's last second, he does a complete 180, ''falls down a nearby hole and lets the explosion take his teammates down''.
* GuideDangIt: The crew aren't above checking a walkthrough when they aren't sure how to progress.
* MundaneMadeAwesome: The L2 Shovel, and shoveling in general. Also, the hypothetical L2 ''Lamp''.
* NinjaLooting: Frequent whenever one of them dies, with Kaz as the worst offender.
* RunningGag: Medibot saying "I accept this outcome" whenever they succeed at making sure pokecapn doesn't get something good.
** The hilarious scuffles over Force Gems when they appear.
* ShoutOut: Upon finding a rolling [[SpikeBallsOfDoom Snowball of Doom]] which can be destroyed for Force Gems and gets bigger the more it rolls around in the snow, pokecapn suggests that the posse "[[VideoGame/{{Borderlands 2}} get him up to God-Snowball and get his loot]]".
* [[TokenEvilTeammate Token Evil Teammate]]/[[TokenGoodTeammate Token Good Teammate]]: After each level in Four Swords, players have to vote on who was the most bothersome to decide the Hero of Darkness (who gets a Force Gem penalty) and who was the most helpful to decide the Hero of Light (gets a Force Gem bonus). Needless to say, everyone's been the Hero of Darkness at least once; Pokecapn and medibot holds the most 'wins'.
** In one moment of hilarity, ''all four of them'' were the Hero of Darkness, meaning that every one of them got a vote from someone else.[[note]]Specifically, pokecapn and Kung-Fu Jesus voted for each other, and Kaz and medibot voted for each other.[[/note]]
* YankTheDogsChain: Kung-Fu Jesus has yet to earn the most points in a level, with his closest miss being a scant ''thirteen'' points behind the winner. [[spoiler:Finally averted, as he wins 8-2 hands down.]]

[[folder:Guacamelee!]]
* ThemeNaming: Every part except Part 1 has a music-based pun as its description, replacing the word "rock" with "guac".
** Part 2: [[Music/BillHaleyAndHisComets Guac Around the Clock]]
** Part 3: [[Music/EltonJohn Crocodile Guac]]
** Part 4: [[Music/BackstreetBoys Guac Your Body Right]]
** Part 5 (and 5.5): [[Music/{{ACDC}} For Those About to Guac]]
** Part 6: [[ChristmasSongs Jingle Bell Guac]]

[[folder:Prosecutor's Path]]
* LaughingMad: Patricia Roland's [[VillainousBreakdown breakdown]] causes pokecapn to lose it for a good few minutes.
* ParallelPornTitles: The videos are titled "Ass Attorney Investigations 2", and the description for the Case 1 videos makes it clear that the game's subtitle is "Penetrator's Path".
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Shovel Knight]]
* {{Expy}}: pokecapn and medibot constantly refer to the Order of No Quarter and the Enchantress as [[VideoGame/MegaMan "Robot Masters" and "Dr. Wily"]] respectively.
* ViewerGenderConfusion: medibot thinks that Specter Knight is female. pokecapn, since he hasn't played the game before while medibot has, assumes they must know what they're talking about and also refers to Specter Knight as if he were female.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Livestreams]]
* BuffySpeak: Kung-Fu Jesus has some audio problems in the beginning, and pokecapn tells him to "Mute the thingy" six times.
--> '''KFJ''': Would you be specific, please?
* CrowdSong: The ending theme of ''VideoGame/GodHand''.
** "Kiss From a Rose" would have been this, but they forgot about the request until a while after the Ridley fight.
* EasterEgg: The "Wu-Tang Secret" hidden in ''VideoGame/TheGunstringer'' is mentioned. Whatever it is, it seems to be a SugarWiki/{{Funny Moment|s}} for them.
** Turns out, it was a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhWbw4C14i8 Zybourne Clock reference]].
* FunnyBackgroundEvent: While Kaz is playing Castlevania, the others pretend to be Pokemon characters.
-->'''Kung-Fu Jesus:''' [[ItMakesSenseInContext Theses were all posted a year ago.]]
-->'''pokecapn:''' [[NoYou You're all posted a year ago!]]
-->'''Kung-Fu Jesus:''' [[IBangedYourMom I'm gonna stick my dick in your mom.]]
** Kaz reading the "Horse" Tweets.
* GreenSkinnedSpaceBabe: While setting up ''VideoGame/GitarooMan'', the posse has a discussion about which is better--green boobs or blue boobs?
* LateToThePunchline: Kung-Fu Jesus apparently didn't notice that they were calling the bald eagle that carries you around in Sonic 2006 an owl. When it comes up again in Sonic 2D (57:30), he is very confused. Admittedly, a lot of Sonic 2006 was a blur to everyone but pokecapn, who watched his own videos.
-->'''Pokecapn''': Look, you didn't notice these things back in [[LetsPlay/SonicTheHedgehog2006 2008]], why are you noticing them now?\
'''[=Kung-Fu Jesus=]''': 'Cause I wasn't paying attention in 2008!
* LargeHam: Kaz, reading the tweets and other requests. Especially Dracula doing Hamlet.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: medibot gets angrier at "Sunset Rubdown" than at anything else they've come up against before, including ''Mario Party 5''.
* TheReveal: medibot, decked out in [[RobeAndWizardHat cape and wizard hat]], playing ''VideoGame/WarioWare: Smooth Moves'' live on camera.
* SelfImposedChallenge: pokecapn played ''Sonic 3'' with one of the layers removed, medibot played much of ''Subspace Emissary'' with almost all of their buttons unavailable, KFJ had his ''God Hand'' combo potential limited, and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking Kaz had to put up with]] ''Castlevania III'''s Japanese gameplay and music.
* ShoutOut: To ''VideoGame/TheGunstringer'', since the lead game designer donated money to them and gave them a ShoutOut on his Twitter. Mentioned in Part 2 of the livestream about 50 minutes into Sonic 2D. They also read out the names of every single person who donated to them.
* SoundtrackDissonance: Made intentionally in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6tRfG8KhgM#t=20m this]] episode of ''VideoGame/GitarooMan''. It's a nice, relaxing song...until the squeaky duck noises kick in. From what we can gather, pokecapn and some sort of smartphone app are to blame.
* SwappedRoles: During ''VideoGame/GodHand'', the group dramatically reads a thesis paper that used [=KFJ's=] ''God Hand'' LP as its example to demonstrate various sociological tendencies, including a reenactment of one video with medibot as KFJ and pokecapn as medibot.
* ThatOneBoss: [[invoked]]Egg Wyvern in ''Sonic 2D'' and Death in ''Akumajou Densetsu''.
* TheWatson: Since Kaz wasn't around for the Sonic 2006 game, the others have to explain what's going on in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xusfdzkBx-k Sonic 2D]].
