Pink Kitty Rose (real name: Sammy) is a Canada-based Let's Player who does playthroughs of video games on Website/YouTube and Website/Twitch, primarily retro games with a few more modern entries thrown into the mix.

Early in her gaming career, what made Pink unique from the EleventyZillion other Let's Play accounts was two things. First, most of her early videos included captions or annotations explaining what to do in that game instead of relying on verbal commentary. The annotations have since fallen by the wayside due to changes on [=YouTube=], though it is possible to bring them back in several browsers with certain add-ons. Second, she was one of the few successful enough to warrant a website to showcase her works, though it has closed down as of fall 2018.

!!Tropes applying to her or her playthroughs:
* AIIsACrapshoot: Downplayed. When doing a crossover randomizer for VideoGame/SuperMetroid and VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkToThePast, she employs a voice-activated tracker created by a member of the randomizer community. Said tracker is known to have sass, calling out Pink for logic breaks or asking to track something completely minuscule.
* AlliterativeName: Pink's island in New Horizons has what she dubbed "Cervine Coast", home to her cervine villagers Lopez, Erik, Fauna, and Fuschia.
* AlliterativeTitle: Most of the VideoGame/Worms Armageddon themes she has play this straight: Rock n' Ruin, Burn Baby Burn, Windy Wonder, Jetpack Jamboree, Escalating Ensemble, Massively Multiplayer, Countdown Catastrophe, Melee Massacre, Grenade Grab-Bag, Banana Breakdown, and Moles Moles Moles.
* AllThereInTheManual: A lot of information about Pink herself can be found in her explanatory video, and prior to 2018 on her website as well.
* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: invoked
** To Pink, the new ghost-slamming mechanic in VideoGame/LuigisMansion3 is seen as Luigi having enough of King Boo's shenanigans and wanting to let it out.
** During the August 7, 2023 stream, Pink interprets the Space Pirates as very brazen individuals, especially when it comes to science.
* AndImTheQueenOfSheba: During one [=SMZ3=] run, Pink tells Tracker that she has infinite content. Tracker's snarky reply is that she's the new Queen of England, a comment that was deemed DudeNotFunny by the chat on account of the then-recent passing of UsefulNotes/ElizabethII. The comment was clarified by Tracker's programmer as unintentional and unrelated to that event due to it having been programmed in at some point previous.
* Animesque: Her human avatar above has been described as resembling something out of a 1990s-era anime.
* AprilFoolsDay: For her stream on April 1, 2023, not only does she play a game associated with an April Fools gag (VisualNovel/TheMurderOfSonicTheHedgehog), but she also placed her avatar upside down. Even Meatball was upside down with her.
* ARareSentence:
** These crop up quite frequently in her Super Mario Sunshine videos. Context helps... somewhat.
---> "If you're holding on to fruit, the fish is not able to actually gobble at you!"
---> "So we're gonna take these bananas, and we're gonna go see the world!"
** Another one turns up in her playthrough of VideoGame/WarioLandII, in relation to the game's transformation mechanic:
---> "Remember to always hydrate your Warios."
** And one more when Pink discovers the prize for finding all of the graffiti in VideoGame/HiFiRush:
---> "Why are we a banana?!"
* AstonishinglyAppropriateInterruption: In her April 29, 2023 stream, Pink talks about the partying college students from when she was in school. Meatball comes in at a rather hilarious time.
-->Pink: Them wild university parties, man. I emerge out my dorm room at the start of the day and everybody's just like...\
Meatball: (being summoned by a chat member) Mmmm, fresh meat!
* BerserkButton: Pink does not like double-tap dashes and ridiculous grinding in a game (VideoGame/CastlevaniaPortraitOfRuin is a hilarious example of the latter).
* BigNo: During one attempt at a 100% run of Pizza Tower, Pink blasts two of these--one short and intense, the other slightly more drawn out--in quick succession when the run fails at the last possible tenth of a second, leaving her with 99%.
* CharacterCatchphrase:
** "Jonathan's spinning a little more for us today", frequently heard whenever someone subscribes to her Twitch streams.
** "Yes~". Alternatively, "Mmm-yes."
** "Spin~!"
** "Get a load of this!"
* CatGirl: Her fursona of choice. In addition, after a March 2023 update, her virtual model gained the ability to switch between human and cat ears whenever she sees fit.
* CharacterPortrait:
** Sometimes accompanies a caption, illustrating her feelings on that particular part of a playthrough. SweatDrop is a frequent sight, and RedEyesTakeWarning happens when she's really mad.
** More recently on her streams, she's been using a Vtuber-type virtual avatar. For a few months she was using a default avatar and rig known as "The Gremlin", but partway through January 2021 a full custom rendition of her human avatar debuted.
* CuteLittleFangs: She usually has them on her avatar, be it feline or human.
* DeadpanSnarker:
** Pink is known to delve into this from time to time.
--->Video Announcer: "If you find yourself speaking with a person who does not make sense, in all likelihood, that person is not real."
--->Pink: "Okay, calling out all Facebook, why don't ya?"
** This trope is her [=SMZ3=] Tracker's default mode. Half of the things she says are at Pink's or the seed's expense.
--->(after Pink collects a Reserve Tank) "I reserve the right to not care."
* Determinator:
** Successfully cleared I Wanna Be The Guy in one sitting. This isn't the same as clearing it on Impossible, but this feat still takes a lot of both skill and nerve.
** Displays this during VideoGame/Splatoon1 Hero Mode when obtaining the scrolls. The fifth one, in particular, appeared closed off since the sponge block was full, and there are no enemies in sight. She was eager to find another way to get to it...
** Another case is during her fight with the Lost Kin in VideoGame/HollowKnight, defeating it after many deaths with only the barest equipment. As seen here.
** Has also cleared the Tower of Fate: Ascent stage of Shovel Knight without taking damage, which took her fifty recording attempts. She admitted in response to a [=YouTube=] comment that it was mostly stubborn determination that carried her through.
* DidntSeeThatComing: During one [=SMZ3=] randomizer run in late spring 2022, this was Pink's response to her auto-tracker referring to the High Jump Boots as "Air Jordans".
-->(laughs) "I wasn't expecting that one!"
* DidntThinkThisThrough: After seeing the "Self-Destruct" FAIL from the Henry Stickmin Collection, Pink notes the reference to the Worms series' Suicide Bomber and wonders what good poison was going to be against the Right Hand Man--who, in that timeline, is half-robotic.
* DifficultButAwesome: Pink will often show off powers that are usually discarded as useless that are actually amazing once you figure out how to use them. The Top Spin from VideoGame/MegaMan3 is the most prominent example.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: She hates vegetables. In an August 2022 stream, she stated that she can only eat a few of them if they're prepared a certain way, and "raw" is not it.
* TheElevatorFromIpanema: During her VideoGame/LuigisMansion3 streams, she would cue up elevator tunes from other games to play when using the elevator in game.
* EnragedByIdiocy: Pink has expressed very low patience towards Gabriel and Zinnia from VideoGame/StardewValleys Adventurer's Guild Expansion GameMod, to the point where she gets vocal about the former's angst handling and the latter's ditziness and tells them off whenever she can. When a cutscene shows how their mother died, Pink notices the mother realizing she forgot her sword, and concludes that idiocy runs in the family.
* EverybodyKnewAlready: A RunningGag for her VideoGame/StardewValley streams has her declare Lewis and Marnie's SecretRelationship as very transparent.
* EvilLaugh: She sports an amazing evil laugh. This is more prominent in her livestreams when she picks up a favorite weapon of hers.
* FluffyTheTerrible: In her "Feed the Beast: Interactions" streams:
** Late in her "Feed the Beast" streams, she acquires and raises an ice dragon that she names Blep.
** She also obtains a charmed Wither which she named Darth Googly (named after the eyes it possessed).
** Out of revenge for being very feisty, the hippogryph in her "Feed The Beast" revisit gets named Randy.
* TheGadfly: Has her moments. When viewing the Walkthrough FAIL during Completing the Mission, after the dialogue loops a few times, she takes the opportunity to take a short break and leaves the FAIL running instead of clicking out of it, much to the annoyance of a few in the chat.
-->(after returning) "Why do I do this? Because sometimes I must lean into cruelty."
* GamerChick: From [=YouTube=] to Twitch, she's been playing games and taking names since 2007.
* GenderEqualEnsemble: Played with regarding Deer Force, a rock band that she makes up for her cervines in VideoGame/AnimalCrossingNewHorizons. As she sees it, Lopez is the LeadDrummer, Fauna plays the keyboard, Fuschia plays the electric guitar, and Erik is the vocalist.
* GlassShatteringSound: Courtesy of post-production in TheStinger of part 28 of VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkBetweenWorlds. Pink sings along to the Death Mountain theme, then the view distorts with a sound effect of a window cracking. A few seconds after she stops, the video shatters.
* GuideDangIt: Referred to by name in regards to part of the final dungeon in Zelda II.
* HelplessWithLaughter: During the Thief/Dead route of Completing the Mission, after she has Henry engage in PolitenessJudo with a Toppat guard, the guard's response leaves her in stitches. While she's able to collect an VideoGame/AmongUs figurine at the next prompt, she continues cracking up the entire time until after the FAIL that follows, and it's not until after she attains the path's ending that she discovers that she completely missed the second prompt.
-->Reginald: Heading straight for the rocket?! Close the main door! Immediately!\
Pink: (still laughing) Wait, what's even going on right now?!
* HeroicBSOD: It's possible to break her for a few minutes by leaving a large money donation. She'll still play the game fine in the meantime, though by her admittance this is mostly autopiloting.
* HiddenDepths: During her run of Shredder's Revenge, Pink is amused by an altered Channel 6 poster featuring a happy Bebop in chef's attire.
-->"All this guy's wanted to do all his life is host a cooking show!"
* HilariousOuttakes: Her VideoGame/ShovelKnight and VideoGame/SuperMarioSunshine have outtake reels at the end of the episodes, unless there isn't any to show off.
* HumongousHeadedHammer: Her preferred weapon in most games, mostly Kirby.
* Irony: During her A Super Mario Thing playthrough, Pink swore she never had or would play a Touhou game. One month later, she did the eighth game for a live broadcast and shortly after that, a playthrough of VideoGame/MegaMari. Then her fans created VideoGame/PinkRoseGardenTouhou.
* KindheartedCatLover: Loves cats, as admitted during her Cat Cafe Manager streams, and cites a lack of space as the primary reason why she doesn't own one.
* LeftItIn: During Part 20 of her VideoGame/SuperMarioSunshine run, the boss music usually reserved for her outtakes reel starts playing too early, and she states that she'll FixItInPost. She then acknowledges that it might not be so easy to do. The final video still includes the flawed music cue, and a lack of music cue in the place it was supposed to be.
* LipstickLesbian: More of the StraightGay DistaffCounterpart take on this trope than the girly-girl take.
* LittleNo: Has one of these, almost unheard, when she witnesses of The Henry Stickmin Collection.
* LuminescentBlush: Pink's Vtuber avatar is capable of sporting this when she's overwhelmed or otherwise flustered by whatever is happening during the stream. An example can be seen in one of her clips here.
* MadnessMantra: While following the "Insane" ending in VideoGame/TheStanleyParable, she takes note of the clocks in one of the endlessly looping rooms. The resulting mantra persists off and on for the rest of her playthrough.
-->"1, 2, B, 4! ...1, 2, B, 4! ...1, 2, B, 4! ..."
* MaliciousMisnaming: During randomizers for VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime, she occasionally refers to Young Princess Ruto as Princess von Bitchface.
* MesACrowd: One of the options for point expenditure on Pink's channel allows for the playback of a random Luigi soundbite, of which there are a decent variety. Provided that enough viewers are willing to give up a large quantity of points in short succession, and taking into account the option's lack of cooldown, it's possible to create this effect. A demonstration is available here.
-->Pink: "This stream brought to you by too many Luigi noises!"
* MindScrew: Her thoughts on the final Zelda II dungeon as a whole.
* MomentKiller: During one serious moment mid-[=SMZ3=] seed where Pink thanks her viewers for their support, Tracker chimes in with an "Are you lost?" on account of the game being paused for ten minutes. This gets both Pink and the chat to tell it to shut up.
* MooseAndMapleSyrup: During her playthrough of Mega Man 6, she takes the time to lampshade the Canadian stereotypes in Blizzard Man's stage.
* NoOneCouldSurviveThat: During VideoGame/Yakuza0, Pink lampshades any instances of goons being in a state in which survival is improbable by referencing a meme regarding Kiryu in a SuspiciouslySpecificDenial manner.
-->Never killed a man! Nope!
* OddNameOut: Her work golems in the "Feed the Beast" streams are named based on their tasks (such as Treebert and Lumberjohn)...except for Toppy, who was instead named after an odd quirk in which it twirls constantly.
* OhCrap: Her reaction to a 1st turn Armageddon in VideoGame/Worms, thanks to [=CutManMike=]. She has this reaction to varying degrees any time someone breaks out Armageddon or a Banana Bomb, but as Pink notes in the video, the sheer improbability of actually getting a first turn Armageddon...
* OneSteveLimit: Unintentionally averted in VideoGame/StardewValley. When she introduces a child into the farm via adoption, she named her Kali without realizing that it's also the farm cat's name. Pink jokes that her ingame character will have some explaining to do when the child gets older.
* OrphanedSeries:
** Pink has practically relocated to Twitch, and cited lack of interest in continuing using Website/YouTube during a January 2020 stream, leaving her VideoGame/MetroidPrime playthrough orphaned.
** Pink stopped streaming VideoGame/StardewValley during Year 2 of Fall (before Grandpa's ghost is supposed to visit and give a verdict), though that is due to the technical toll caused by the mods she has added to the game.
* PlayerTic:
** Pink has been known to fire in time to the music when she's not doing anything else of note onscreen.
** She also makes Mario duck in time to the music in VideoGame/NewSuperMarioBrosWii and makes Yoshi stick his tongue out in time to the music in VideoGame/YoshisIsland when doing an AutoScrollingLevel.
** When entering the Etecoons' shaft in Super Metroid, she'll always make Samus or one of her many stand-ins mimic the Etecoons' actions the best she can before she wall jumps out.
* PrecisionFStrike:
** She refers to the Zelda II scorpions as being "bloody annoying".
** She occasionally swears in live streams and Mega Man races. Deliveries have become common when donators to her Twitch channel get a bit too generous.
* Pun: Typically on the receiving end from her friends and those who watch her live streams. As an example: during VideoGame/CastlevaniaPortraitOfRuin, one of the sub-quests required her to master four different weapons. While carrying out this lengthy task in a room full of minotaurs:
--> Roahm: I knew Wind's quests were full of bull, but this is ridiculous.
* PunnyName: Her space headquarters in "Feed the Beast" is dubbed PAWSA, as a pun on UsefulNotes/NASA.
* RageQuit: Pink is calm and patient enough to avoid this during her live streams. That being said, she came fairly close to losing it a couple of times:
** During her last VideoGame/MegaManUnlimited stream, the game crashed during the final cutscene, and she took the opportunity to ferociously explain why ending the game with a HopelessBossFight was a bad idea.
** While streaming VideoGame/IWannaBeTheBoshy, she spent over three hours trying to beat Sonic. By the end of the stream, she was reduced to the point of shouting "Missiles! Missiles! Missiles!" repeatedly.
** When streaming VideoGame/OneHundredPercentOrangeJuice, she got screwed over by unlucky dice rolls. After the last board, she quits the game and leaves the stream running for a while, returning after using the negative energy to do stuff around her place.
* RealWomenDontWearDresses: She's normally pretty good about not adhering to this viewpoint, but she's got this serious beef against skirts. Might be more her distaste for gratuitous fanservice than anything.
* ReplacementGoldfish: From her "Feed the Beast: Interactions" streams.
** Once her ice dragon Blep ate Gertrude, one of Pink's sheep, she designs a shelter...and spawns another sheep and names it Gertrude.
** Her colosseum has an NPC that she dubs "Emperor Pawpatine". Occasionally he would die from rogue enemies when she battles, and each time she spawns a replacement. She finally gives the latest iteration, Totally Not Zombatine, an invisible barrier.
** In the revisit streams, her attempt at summoning a meteor for radioactive materials caused Randy the hippogryph to explode, even though she set him as far away as she could. Seeing how the respawn point set for him did not work properly, she cheats in another hippogryph and calls the new one "Randy v2.0".
* RunningGag:
** Again in the Worms videos: Pink forgetting that the Banana Bomb's great explosion radius was not increased by a Double Damage powerup.
** Shagg's and Mike's girder shananigans. They use girders more than any other player by far, and woe to everyone if either should get a starter pack....
--->Zack: "Next time on Worm Ball Z, more girders."
** Running prevalent in her VideoGame/SuperMarioMaker streams, Pink breaking levels.
** In later Jackbox games, [=CutmanMike=] joining the game using variations of his handle ([=GutsmanMike=], [=PlugmanMike=], etc.)
** During her live streams of randomizer runs for VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkToThePast, race or otherwise, any seed with early Pegasus Boots is declared cursed. This slowed down somepun not intended at some point after she stopped doing race-centric speed-running, with the [=SMZ3=] seeds having the Boots deliberately placed in the Sanctuary.
** In VideoGame/AnimalCrossingNewHorizons, each time she catches a black bass, she cues up metal music.
** Pink bickering with the tracker she uses for her [=SMZ3=] randomizers. This is common when she breaks logic to Tracker's disbelief.
** Related to the above is one where Tracker mishears Pink's "Jonathan's spinning" catchphrase as a request to stop keeping track of the Morph Ball.
** The chat spamming Luigi voice clips whenever he makes an appearance, and sometimes even when he doesn't.
** Pink finding ways to break games, intentionally or otherwise.
* SayMyName: After dealing with one too many puns during a live stream of VideoGame/Undertale:
--> "SAAAAAANNNNSSS!"
* ScrappyMechanic: Invoked Discussed. There are points in a game where she does not like certain mechanics in a game. Double-tap dashes and motion controls are an example of this.
* SelfDeprecation:
** Pink adds commentary after recording, sometimes months after, and sometimes comments on the crazy stuff she did. The best example is her Yoshi's Island videos were recorded significantly before she started adding commentary and she admonishes her "past self" for the more unusual behavior.
** During a March 2023 stream, Pink utilizes this trope when talking about why she strictly used text-based commentary during her first few years on [=YouTube=], stating that at times her voice sounded like a parrot's squawking and chuckling about it afterward.
* SequenceBreak:
** A RunningGag during her VideoGame/SuperMarioMaker streams. If she finds a way to skip sections of a course, she will use it.
** In some episodes in her VideoGame/SuperMarioSunshine, she used shortcuts to obtain some of the Shine Sprites, then shows off how to play those courses normally. One instance is in Episode 18, in which she glitches her way to a pool using bananas.
** In VideoGame/MetroidPrime, the Space Jump is normally obtained late in the game. Thanks to a glitch in the Gamecube version, which Pink is using, that involves an attemped scan while moving, it's the first item she obtains.
** Frequently seen during her randomizer runs. If there's a way to get someplace well before she should, she will most often take it. If the automated tracker is present, expect some snarky LampshadeHanging from said tracker.
* ShoutOut:
** During her VideoGame/MetroidOtherM broadcast on the now-defunct Justin.tv, some of the others began singing the Forklift song from the MST3K episode of Film/FugitiveAlien.
** During a final round of Quiplash on a live stream, the prompt was about what you wouldn't find in a fortune cookie. The answer she submitted? [[spoiler: "Waluigi's gonna help you get married!"]]
** Her island theme in New Horizons was set to Franchise/Metroids ItemGet theme for a time. She later changes it to Epona's Theme.
** In the "Feed the Beast" revisit, her hippogryph is dubbed Randy. She even made asides regarding Randy's coffee and temper as a nod to his namesake.
** Her VirtualYoutuber model got an update prior to the March 21, 2023 stream, giving her access to emotes on the avatar that reference VideoGame/AnimalCrossing, complete with sound effects.
** When on a desert stage in VideoGame/SuperMarioBrosWonder, one Wonder section had time speed up. As Pokeys were present in that stage, Pink makes a nod to LetsPlay/ProtonJon's "Move faster, Pokey" line from one of his old Kaizo playthroughs.
* SignatureLaugh: Has a distinct chuckle-giggle that she uses whenever she finds something sufficiently amusing, and sometimes when she's annoyed or irritated. It turns up frequently enough that when she stops laughing over a prolonged period, something about the situation has gotten serious.
* SigningOffCatchphrase: As of late 2020, she closes out most of her Website/YouTube videos with "Take care!"
* SpannerInTheWorks: Farming materials from Ender Chickens using liquid antimatter in a "Feed the Beast: Interactions" stream went south after an enemy skeleton destroyed a block of antimatter, causing like blocks to crumble. This triggers DisasterDominoes that resulted in a hole in the world that Pink had to patch up.
* SpareBodyParts: Defied. When her model was updated in March 2023, she has the option to flip between human ears and cat ears at will, though she and her artist made sure that neither set will appear at the same time as the other.
* SpectacularSpinning: Has a liking for Mega Man 3's Top Spin, VideoGame/MegaMari's Rolling Slash, and spinning attacks in general.
--> "Spin~!"
* SymbolSwearing: Only happened once, and that was when she was really, really mad.
* TakeThat: Mostly at things agitating her in the game she's playing. Much more frequent and about other things in the live broadcasts.
* TakeThatScrappy: InUniverse, Pink expresses her disdain for Klariskrays in VideoGame/PhantasyStarOnline2 due to her personality. During episode 2 when she's an enemy, Pink prioritizes her and vows to kick her like a football. She's even willing to smack around clones created from her.
* ThatOneLevel: invokedAdmitted that her VideoGame/SuperMarioMaker2 level, "Tubular Terror", is one, due to bully wrangling, wall jumping, and other sorts of acrobatics, combined with a clear condition that doesn't allow landing after a jump. She'd show bewilderment when she gets a notification that someone is taking a crack at it.
* ThemeNaming: In her "Feed the Beast" streams:
** Cats are named after the idols from Franchise/Splatoon: Kali (after Callie), Marie, and Pearl are tabbies, while Marina is a black cat.
** Parrots are named after Franchise/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles villains: Bebop and Rocksteady.
** Golems are given Meaningful Names, typically based on their designated tasks. Toppy is an odd subversion to the theme.
* TrueCompanions: The only way to describe her relationship with LetsPlay/RoahmMythril, Shagg, Kit and [=BlackRaiden=], to the point where she refuses to name one of them as her best friend.
* TsurimeEyes: Her Vtuber avatar sports these by default.
* TheVoiceless: Never spoke at all on her [=YouTube=] channel prior to 2012. During a March 2023 stream, she stated that she initially stuck with text-only commentary on account of not being happy with how her voice sounded, an attitude that she fully overcame by the time of her playthrough of VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkBetweenWorlds.
** Subverted in her VideoGame/Worms videos, her VideoGame/PhantasyStarOnline, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Shovel Knight, and Super Mario Sunshine playthroughs.
** Zigzagged in her VideoGame/CastlevaniaPortraitOfRuin videos. In the main hub world, she follows this trope and uses text boxes to narrate. She gets SuddenlyVoiced in the painting portions and towards the end game, though, with Roahm as a guest commentator.
* WingdingEyes: Another expression that her Vtuber avatar is capable of: when something happens in a game she's playing that makes her particularly happy, it goes starry-eyed. One example of this crops up while playing The Henry Stickmin Collection, after she witnesses Henry's "Stickmin Punch" in the aftermath of his Captain Falcon-related [=FAILs=].
