Naka Teleeli is a [[LetsPlay Let's Player]] who prefers to LP LighterAndSofter obscure games along with fan made games, usually playing as female characters when given a choice. He is joined most of the time by his close friend [=ElementalOgre=] and occasionally by his wife [=MadameBerry=] for multiplayer games. Much chaos and fun follows. His Website/YouTube page is right [[https://www.youtube.com/user/NakaTeleeli here]] and he also has a forum [[http://s4.zetaboards.com/VagrantEpochers/index/ here]], a Twitter page [[http://twitter.com/NakaTeleeli here]], a Tumblr page [[http://nakateleeli.tumblr.com here]], a Website/DeviantArt page [[http://nakate.deviantart.com here]], a Twitch channel [[http://www.twitch.tv/nakate here]], a Discord server [[http://discord.gg/DmQS5Wy here]], and an Itch.io page [[https://naka.itch.io/ here]]. Both Naka and Ogre have been hired on as co-hosts for the podcast [[http://msp.starshipmoonhawk.com/ Moonhawk Studios Presents.]] In late 2011, Naka created a new series based off of first impressions of recently acquired games, which has since been named Maiden Reactions, some episodes are done single-player and other episodes are done with Ogre and his friends from the Podcast/MoonhawkStudiosPresents podcast. On November 7, 2012 it was announced that the Maiden Reactions series would be retired for various reasons.

On March 15, 2013, he started a new series called "Dancing with [=BAMs=]", in which he [[SoloCharacterRun solos]] [=BAMs=] in VideoGame/{{TERA}}. This has been replaced by "Dancing with Primals" which is pretty much the same thing but with the Primals of VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIV. He also does Fragment Fridays, in which he streams .hack//Fragment and other games.

!!Tropes that apply to them and their videos:

* AddedAlliterativeAppeal: The Fighting Father's Day Fracas in the "[[Manga/{{Kinnikuman}} Let's Muscle]]" series.
* AfraidOfBlood: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]]; as explained in his ''DOOM (2016)'' LP, Naka can stand blood, but gore squicks him right out if it's emphasized. Which is the reason he usually plays LighterAndSofter games.
* AmbiguouslyGay: Ogre in the more recent ''Persona 4'' videos.
* AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent: For part 21 of ''3D Dot Game Heroes'', in which Ogre is a guest, Naka switches the PlayerCharacter from Miss Naka to Ogre's AuthorAvatar.
* AprilFoolsDay: Oh Naka, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJ-nODD5-ME&feature=feedu you tease.]]
* ArtEvolution: Aside from the numbers in the thumbnails changing style over time, starting with the ''DOOM (2016)'' LP, custom art provided by Berry is also included.
* AscendedExtra: [=MadameBerry=], who only appeared temporarily in ''Super Mario 3D World'' playing alongside Naka and Ogre (as Toad), proceeded to return for ''Trine 2'' and ''Kirby's Epic Yarn'' as the sole guest and in ''Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara'', ''Dungeon Explorer'', and ''Kirby Star Allies'' with Ogre once again. She's also usually in the background in the Fragment Friday streams.
** Lenny, one of the chat mods in the Fragment Friday streams, joined Naka and Ogre when they did Parallel Quests in the ''Dragon Ball Xenoverse'' LP, and also for the ''Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara'' [=LPs=].
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: Several episodes from ''Minecraft: Journey Home'' were turned into bonus episodes because Naka's want of showing off all the dungeons in the mod came off as this.
* AuthorAppeal:
** Naka has a soft spot for [[CuteWitch witch]] [[BlackMagicianGirl girls]], as evident of how much he likes [[Franchise/TouhouProject Mima and Marisa Kirisame]]. He dresses his ''Final Fantasy XIV'' character in a witch costume for Halloween events, and he even made Tofu, a character in his ''Welgaea'' games, a witch girl.
** Naka also seems to like PlayboyBunny suits, as evidenced by ''Bunny Must Die!''. Taken to its logical conclusion in ''Dragon Quest Builders 2'', where he dresses the Builder in a [[BreadEggsBreadedEggs cottontail costume and bunny ears along with a witch's hat]] as soon as he's able.
** Both Naka and Ogre like ''DOOM'', and according to them, Naka's dad played ''DOOM'' often, as well.
*** Naka also inherited a love for ''Franchise/{{Ghostbusters}}'' from his dad, and he owned quite a few of the toys, as well. Ogre admits that it would be a series he'd be a fan of as well, had he been introduced to it earlier.
** They have a strong attachment to ''WebAnimation/HomestarRunner'', having been introduced to it around its internet debut and basing their humor on its style.
** Manga-wise, they both like ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'', ''Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar'', ''Manga/{{Kinnikuman}}'', and ''Manga/DragonBall'', Naka likes ''Franchise/DotHack'', and Ogre likes ''Manga/OnePiece''.
** Ogre also [[BuxomBeautyStandard really likes big boobs]] and will poke fun at any females in the games with absurdly big chests.
** Naka reveals in ''Dragon Quest IV'' that he likes women who have [[AnimeHair large poofy hairstyles]], citing the female main character Sofia as an example.
** Ogre is a big fan of the ''Franchise/DragonQuest'' series, which was the main reason for the ''Dragon Quest IV'' LP, as Ogre wanted to introduce Naka to the series (and Naka would later go on to LP both ''Builders'' games).
** As Naka grew up playing the UsefulNotes/TurboGrafx16, a good number of his [=LPs=] are games from the console.
* AuthorAvatar: Naka has one in the form of [[https://www.deviantart.com/nakate/art/Naka-Teleeli-2-3-character-sheet-620835840 Naka "the Honeywhite" Teleeli, a.k.a. Miss Naka]]. [[https://www.deviantart.com/nakate/art/Elemental-Ogre-character-sheet-337283930 Ogre]] and [[https://www.deviantart.com/nakate/art/Madame-Berry-542066062 Berry]] also have one each.
* AuthorFilibuster: With more plot-heavy games, Naka will often take a moment after cutscenes to express his thoughts and personal opinions regarding the story before resuming gameplay.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: According to him, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pWJQ_Oo59M anyway]].
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Naka was hoping to find something in the caves at the beginning of episode 7 of ''Minecraft: Survival''. Come the end of Episode 8, he's found a dungeon and a mineshaft, is filled up with items... and is completely, utterly lost, far from home, and has so many good items on him now, dying means the entire trip has become ''pointless''.
--> '''Naka''': Maybe next time, we can... not... get completely lost in here--I just wanna go home!
* BerserkButton:
** [[FrictionlessIce FREAKING ICE!!!]]
** As for the comments section, spoilers and unnecessary references.
--->'''Naka''': [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rh9IQf17heU So I'm going to forewarn everyone - if you've played it before or if you play along]], do NOT spoil anything for me or so help me I will [[LetsGetDangerous beat you to death]] with [[ImprovisedWeapon a sack of oranges.]]
** In one ''Paper Mario'' episode, Naka goes into a rant about people claiming something generic is actually a reference.
** He hates it when enemies have the ability to HealThyself. This was demonstrated well in ''Paper Mario'' once again in the final fight with Bowser.
** Having formerly been a high school teacher, he gets quite irritated at cynical attitudes towards learning, pointing out that being a teacher is not an easy job.
** For whatever reason, [[{{Treants}} sentient talking trees]] enrage Ogre.
* BigBad: His ''Minecraft'' series has one in The Sign Maker.
** [[spoiler: BigBadFriend: Literally; The Sign Maker is actually "Friend", who served as the AudienceSurrogate for ''Survival''.]]
** This, combined with AntiHero, is also his interpretation of Dark Cube in ''EDGE''.
* BriefAccentImitation: Naka and Ogre tends to use funny accents at times. Most predominantly in the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QY16BoxgUFg Lost Vikings LP]].
* BrokenPedestal: [[spoiler: According to one of his ''Behind the Scenes'' videos of his ''Minecraft'' series, the fight with the [[FinalBoss Ender Dragon]] at the end of ''Survival'' caused this in "Friend". Basically, Naka losing caused "Friend" to believe himself superior to his mentor figure, as opposed to an equal previously.]]
* BuffySpeak: Is partial to this.
* CatchPhrase: "Greetings and salutations, dear viewer(s)." - used to open a Maiden Reactions vid or another non-Let's Play vid.
** "I got this!"
** "Eat it!" - usually said during boss fights.
** "...so that's a thing," or "Let's do a thing" or other variants on that.
** "Oh heavens!" - usually used for situations where OhCrap doesn't ''quite'' suffice.
** "That'll do her."
** "That was almost dangerous."
** More recently, Naka and Ogre have taken to saying [[CallBack "For freedom/glory!"]]
** His euphemism "Fudge that noise".
** "It's OHM NAKA!" from his Frägment Friday streams.
** "...You're alright." - to a character he likes/approves of.
** "It's one of these buttons." - when forgetting which button does what he wants to do.
** "I'mma [name]!" - whenever his PlayerCharacter has to introduce themselves.
** "Oh my goodness!" and "Mother of pearl!" when a game is ''really'' frustrating him.
** "Heck?!" - when something unexpected happens.
** [[SigningOffCatchPhrase "Until next time, everyone."]]
* ChekhovsSkill: His [[GoodWithNumbers math skills]] as a former high school math teacher, which he first shows in his ''Minecraft'' series, are occasionally displayed in several other [=LPs=] afterwards, often coming up with calculations in only a few seconds.
* CliffHanger: ''Minecraft: Journey Home'' ended on one, as [[spoiler:Naka fell into the hands of the Sign Maker again]].
* CombinedEnergyAttack: The very end of the ''Touhou Mother'' LP, which has everyone in the entire ''Mother'' and ''Touhou'' universes lending their power to finally destroy Giygas and Porky once and for all.
* ConvectionSchmonvection: Discussed at the start of part 25 of ''New Super Mario Bros. U''. They talk about convection and how they should currently be on fire. The conversation ends with them agreeing that [[LampshadeHanging the Mushroom Kingdom's physics are bullshit.]]
* CrossPlayer: Most of the time, Naka will choose/make a female character when given a choice. Not to mention his regular AuthorAvatar, Miss Naka, who he recreated to be the PlayerCharacter for ''3D Dot Game Heroes''.
** In the Minecraft series, his skin is [[VideoGame/CaveStory Curly Brace]].
** Also, his [[DigitalAvatar Mii]] is a female version of him.
* CripplingOverspecialization:
** Ysami, Naka's character in ''Dragon Ball Xenoverse'', isn't good at anything... except Ki Supers. To put this into perspective: Naka hangs back for most his fights and lets his allies deal with their opponent while he charges his ki, but once he actually uses a Super (or [[LimitBreak an Ultimate]]) most, if not all of the enemies' health is just gone. Crosses over with GlassCannon since that also includes lacking health. She slowly edges into LightningBruiser territory when Naka eventually maxes out Ki Supers and starts putting more points into other stats.
** In ''Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door'' Ogre and Naka decided to put a lot of extra points into badge points, making Mario frailer and with less flower points. It isn’t bad for a while, but eventually it causes problems with Mario being squishy and unable to use a lot of abilities. After a few fights where they barley survive, they quickly add more points to HP and FP accordingly and things go more smoothly.
* CuteKitten: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYNEciGic8A here]].
* DeadpanSnarker: Both Naka and Ogre can be pretty dry at times. Naka especially.
-->'''Naka''': It would help if we were actually ''in'' Japan.
-->'''Ogre''': [''thinking Naka means in-game''] We are.
-->'''Naka''': No we're not.
-->'''Ogre''': Yeah we are; Inaba, Japan?
-->'''Naka''': I'm on the East Coast, I'm not sure ''where you'' are.
* DespairEventHorizon: Naka hits one in Episode 64 of ''Minecraft: Fate's Grasp''. [[SugarWiki/HeReallyCanAct It is very painful to watch.]]
* DungeonBypass: ''Minecraft: Journey Home'' has Naka doing this in a manner most awesome in Episode 46.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: In the second ''Minecraft'' stream series, Naka uses a digital avatar of an OriginalCharacter, Vivian.exe, to represent himself as a sort of facecam. In the ninth stream, a Japanese text-to-voice program is used as Vivian.exe's voice, and starting with the twelfth stream, a digital English voice is used instead. [[WordOfGod According to Naka,]] he found it weird hearing his own voice coming out of Vivian.exe's mouth.
* EarRape: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zE2AmAO41Sc YOOOOOSHIIII!!!]]
** NOOOOOO!!! WEEGEE DIE!!!
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DVCxERLhfQ BOMAR NOT MAKE TOUCHDOWN!!!]]
* EvolvingTitleScreen: The thumbnail art for the ''Pokémon Shield'' LP has Pokémon added or changed to reflect any additions or evolutions in Naka's party.
* FacePalm: Naka inserts an image of a double facepalm in ''Persona 4'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5g5_4B8SA6I#t=6m49s episode 48]] as his reaction to Ogre's rather blatant [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic brony]] reference.
-->'''Ogre''': But I wanted to hit the bookstore! They were gonna have the new issue of ''My Little Chojin: Wrestling Is Magic''!
-->'''Naka''': ...''[groans]''
-->'''Ogre''': Oh c'mon, I've been waiting for that issue forever! It's gonna have Applesmack take on Warsmare and we're gonna see the Hayseed Bomb! It's gonna be ''great!''
-->'''Naka''': ''[double groan with double facepalm]''
-->'''Ogre''': [[LampshadeHanging You can]] ''[[LampshadeHanging feel]]'' [[LampshadeHanging the pain on that one.]]
* {{Filler}}: Episodes Lookout, Jungle, and Dungeon of ''Minecraft: Journey Home'' were dubbed as filler and removed from the playlist. Episode 50 Volcano has a short montage of Naka [[RetCon passing the entrances to the dungeon of those episode, but with Naka deciding to ignore them and continue onward.]]
* FlatWhat: During Episode 66 of ''Persona 4'', on Ogre's description of "Men in History":
-->'''Ogre''': It's just a ''Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar'' book... [[JustForFun/XMeetsY starring]] [[UsefulNotes/TheodoreRoosevelt Teddy Roosevelt]].
-->'''Naka''': What. And why must I read this?
** Ogre's reaction when he found out someone [[http://missspotty.deviantart.com/art/For-the-Chat-Princess-Ogre-368184006?ga_submit_new=10%253A1367080784 drew a picture of him in a dress]] during the ''Metroid Prime'' Endurance run.
** Madame Berry's reaction on a Frägment Friday stream [[https://youtu.be/HPFyNJfedhw?t=43m53s when someone donated $606.26 to Naka.]]
* GameMod: He's the creator of [[https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=75591 Jumping Flash Doom]], a gameplay conversion mod for [[VideoGame/{{Doom}} GZDoom]] [[JustForFun/XMeetsY that replicates the gameplay and weapons of the]] ''VideoGame/JumpingFlash'' series (specifically ''Jumping Flash! 2''). He's also made a [[https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?t=77203 remake]] of ''H.U.R.L.'' in the [=GZDoom=] engine.
* GenreSavvy: Both Naka and Ogre, to quite an extent.
** Happens A LOT in the ''Persona 4'' LP, as Ogre tends to predict what the characters will say.
* GoshDangItToHeck: Naka pretty much never curses in his videos, even when he's panicking. This definitely is averted when it comes to Ogre, though.
* GratuitousSpanish: The episode titles for the ''Guacamelee!'' LP are in Spanish.
* GroinAttack: Once or twice, Ogre tries a Nut Punch. Which Naka usually blocks and counters.
* HeroicBSOD: Ogre has one at the beginning of the ''Metal Slug 1'' LP, because ''Series/{{Law and Order}}'' was cancelled. Ronnie James Dio passed away, and he saw an episode of Glenn Beck. Thankfully, Naka snaps him out of it.
* HeroicComedicSociopath: In the ''New Super Mario Bros. Wii'' LP, Ogre was stated from the beginning to be "murderous". And boy, does he prove that on several occasions. Except when the level's killing everyone enough so that he really isn't needed.
* HesBack: "Let's Muscle" FINALLY brought back Elemental Ogre for co-op series after a long absence.
--> '''Naka''': I really like the way everything's been going on the channel recently but... something just... feels like it's missing. And... I have no idea what.
--> '''Ogre''': [[IncomingHam I have an idea!]] [[TitleDrop LET'S MUSCLE!]]
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Naka and Ogre {{lampshade}} this trope [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niT_2RlE5Cw here]].
** Naka has gone on record and said that Ogre actually complements him very well in his [=LPs=], and he doesn't feel like he's as good in his videos without him by his side.
* TheHomewardJourney: ''Minecraft: Journey Home'' is an extended one of these following the finale of the original ''Survival'' LP.
* HopeSpot: In the first episode of ''Minecraft: Journey Home'', after going through loads of jungle, waking up to a village in flames, and traveling quite far, Naka finally makes it back home...or does he?
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Ogre's Namekian and Naka's female Majin, respectively, in ''Dragon Ball Xenoverse''.
* ImTakingHerHomeWithMe: Upon exiting a village in ''Mega Man Legends 2'', Naka bumps into a Servbot who was left behind accidentally by Tron Bonne. After talking to the sad Servbot, Naka ends the video, picks up the Servbot, and runs toward the Flutter.
-->'''Naka''': Taking you home with me.
** This turns into a BrickJoke in the following video:
-->'''Naka''': He didn't wanna go...
* IndieGame: He's made a few of these, such as ''Tofu Tower'' (a card-based dungeon-crawler), ''Tofu Topple'' (a competitive puzzle game based on the ''VideoGame/MagicalDrop'' series), and the upcoming ''Welgaea'' series. [[https://madameberry.itch.io/ His wife Berry]] has also made a few games of her own.
* LamePunReaction: Naka mentions in ''Dragon Quest Builders 2'' how Goldirox's name was several puns in one, and when Den stated the last one upon completion of the Gold Bar ("[[spoiler:[[Literature/{{Goldilocks}} Goldirox and the Three Bars]]]]"), [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere he had gotten up and walked out of the room]].
* TheLancer: Ogre, and HOW. {{Lampshaded}} in his JustForFun/OneOfUs quote.
* LargeHam: Naka is a large ham (especially when in his manly moments) but when him and Ogre are together, it leads into HamToHamCombat territory.
* LaughWithMe: Part 40 of ''The Lost Vikings''. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgJWAnHeyDU 00:30]]
* {{MSTing}}: The "Let's Watch" series of ''Space Channel 5'' and its sequel, where Naka and Ogre merely watch the game and commentate over it in lieu of actually playing.
* MovingTheGoalposts: Seemed to be happening in ''Minecraft: Journey Home''.
* NarmCharm: InUniverse; Naka states in the first episode of ''Dragon Ball Xenoverse'' that the reason he and Ogre like ''Anime/DragonBallZ'' so much is because they find it so dorky.
* {{Nerf}}: Discussed; in part 23 of ''New Super Mario Bros. U'', Naka and Ogre talk about difficult boss fights with Ultima and Omega in ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXI'' that they fought way back when. They claim that if someone calls those fights easy, then they probably fought them after they were nerfed.
* NoodleIncident:
-->'''Naka:''' ''THAT'S FOR THE PHOTO!''
* OfficialCouple: According to his Tumblr page, he and [=MadameBerry=] married in September 2017.
* OldMaid: From the ''Persona 4'' LP:
--> '''Ogre:''' Well, we're 26, so... We're Christmas cakes, but we're ''manly'' Christmas cakes!
* PsychopathicManchild: [[spoiler: The Sign Maker/Friend from ''Minecraft''.]] He is described as a very young child whose maturity did not grow as he learned more about the world. In ''Fate's Grasp'', it comes to a point where [[spoiler: the Sign Maker]] drags Naka through many different worlds and tried to kill him various times because he simply viewed Naka as a plaything.
* RedOniBlueOni: Ogre and Naka, respectively.
** This extends to their playstyles as well; Naka is cautious and usually uses ranged attacks, while Ogre is more reckless and prefers melee attacks.
* RunningGag:
** ''Kirby and the Amazing Mirror'': Most of the videos start with a small segment explaining why this mirror is so amazing.
** ''Persona 4'': "INABAAAA" (each time the name of the town is mentioned)
*** Municipal Hospital! (said in a goofy exaggerated manner)
*** Naka and Ogre (in unison): [[GratuitousEnglish "RANKU AHP!"]] and more recently adding an adjective before the "RANKU AHP!" This one made a comeback in ''Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People'' and ''Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy!''.
** ''Paper Mario'': "Star Haven, I hear it's a haven for stars."
*** "Star Poots, away!"
** ''Dragon Ball Xenoverse'': Ogre (and Lenny, when present) correcting Naka's pronunciation of "Xenoverse" in the intros. It only gets more silly as time goes on. Ogre does it even [[DuckSeasonRabbitSeason when Naka switches his pronunciation of the word once]], which Ogre lampshades after this is pointed out.
*** Ogre's character doing the Elder Kai dance.
*** Naka and Ogre (and Lenny in the parallel quest episodes) using different emotes to start each episode off in a pose.
** The ''Super Marisa Land'' Underground music being used whenever he speeds up backtracking.
** ''Grim Fandango'': Regularly mentioning how broken bones would be the worst thing to happen to a skeleton.
** ''DOOM (2016)'': "DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!"
** In general:
-->'''Ogre''': [Elite mook!]\
'''Naka''': God-dang it!
** Also across multiple [=LPs=] is Naka and Ogre ObfuscatingStupidity concerning an [[CaptainObviousReveal obvious]] and/or [[ItWasHisSled long known]] plot point.
* TheScrappy: InUniverse; as the ''Dragon Ball Xenoverse'' LP and livestreams show, Naka does ''not'' like [[BrattyHalfPint Kid Trunks]] or [[SmugSuper Gotenks]] at all, and, when fighting them, will go out of his way to beat the tar out of them first.
-->'''Naka''': (after Gotenks appears) And thus the worst character in all of ''Anime/DragonBallZ'' appears.
* TheScream: Near the end of [[https://youtu.be/H_FEjnK_tf8?t=360 That Stage We Will Never Speak Of Again]] in ''The Lost Vikings''. [[ThatOneLevel You really can't blame him given what the level put him through]].
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: In episode 35 of ''Minecraft: Journey Home'', Naka decides he has had enough of the Sky Island, especially with the strange entity trying to keep him occupied with various tasks. Unfortunately, said island is floating above the void and there's no visible land in sight. But the compass is pointing in a certain direction, so he just builds a bridge in that direction. [[spoiler: He eventually gets to solid ground again.]]
** Happens again in the second episode of Escapecraft, after he gets nearly killed by the strange entity, apparently growing tired of him. He finds a loophole and gathers enough material to break out of where he is. Unfortunately, he could have incurred its wrath in the process [[{{Foreshadowing}} if the end of the video was any indication]].
* SequenceBreaking: In ''The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past'', he intentionally glitches his way through the game and does everything out of order. The first episode, which went up on AprilFoolsDay, even had him sequence break past the final boss.
--> '''Naka''': Oh hey, we found the Triforce! Heck yeah. Well, I guess we beat the game. [[LampshadeHanging That was a short Let's Play.]]
** He tries this again in the "BS Legend Of Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets", resulting in some interesting glitches.
* ShoutOut: The pair make numerous references, subtle or blatant, to ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure''. Each video even ends with the "To Be Continued" arrow.
** Naka and Ogre begin part 10 of ''Pocky and Rocky 2'' by [[VideoGame/EliteBeatAgents singing part of]] [[Music/TheRollingStonesBand Jumpin' Jack Flash]].
** After the events of ''Minecraft: Journey Home'''s Aether mod, Naka has a dream where he's back in the regular world with [[Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar Kenshiro-style powers]].
** When introducing the monk-like Magos in ''Zelda II: The Adventure of Link'', Naka and Ogre exclaim "[[WebVideo/Civvie11 It's monks! It's all monks!]]"
* [[ShownTheirWork Shown His Work]]: Frequently in his [=LPs=]. Most notable are the ''.//hack R1 Quadrilogy'', where he splices in scenes from the related animes ''Anime/DotHackLiminality'' and ''Anime/DotHackSign''; and ''Okami'', where he points out the mythological references in the game. He likes to research the game and inform his watching audience of any related info to the scene while avoiding spoilers (minor ones get through but they don't reveal that much except little details).
** During the ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure Phantom Blood and Golden Wind]]'' [=LPs=] Naka and Ogre provide paraphrased translations of what's happening for the viewers because the games were [[NoExportForYou never released in English.]] They also try to show off (or at least explain) all of the [[GameplayAndStoryIntegration Secret Factors]] in the latter game, even the [[GuideDangIt really hard ones.]]
** With his LP of the ''R-Type'' series, he began every game by showing the series' ongoing timeline. Every major development and event was referenced, from ''Image Fight'' all the way to ''R-Type Final''.
* SidetrackedByTheGoldSaucer: InUniverse; due to his experience with Metroidvanias, whenever Naka's playing a more non-linear game, he tends to forgo going where he's required to and advancing the plot in favor of exploring and finding as many secrets as he can with his current equipment.
* SirSwearsALot: He's actually been raised to avert this trope, according to a response in part 3 of his ''Image Fight'' LP. That said, he occasionally utters the word "crap", but "crap" is so mild that it doesn't really count.
** Played straight with Ogre, who uses much more profanity.
* {{Stripperific}}: His female avatar, referred to as "Miss Naka".
* TestosteronePoisoning: Both Naka and Ogre are particularly fond of this trope.
* TheManyDeathsOfYou: The patented death montages seen in the Let's Try of ''Eryi's Action''.
* TheReveal: [[spoiler: ''Minecraft: Fate's Grasp'', Episode 67. When Naka finally makes it back to his own world, after running one last NightmareFuel-filled gauntlet, we get a look at the Sign Maker's POV as he leaves Naka. We can see clearly he only has two things in his possession...[[FaceHeelTurn a diamond sword, and 105 experience...something only one person had after slaying the Ender Dragon at the end of ''Survival''..."Friend"]].]]
* ThirdPersonPerson: Ogre on occasion, when assuming the personalities of certain characters.
** Weegee. Dear God, Weegee...
* ATragedyOfImpulsiveness: Though his usual strategy is to be as cautious as possible, every once in a while Naka does something impulsive (mainly due to not paying attention) that gets him in trouble.
** In ''The Lost Vikings'' Naka had a habit of running off on his own without Olaf to protect him. They rarely ended well given his character Erik can't readily defend himself, one good example is getting torched by a fireball when going too far in one of the Egyptian levels. Ogre and Raven eventually caught on to this and would sternly remind Naka not to wander off when he would begin to.
** In ''Dragon Quest IV'', he nearly got the entire party killed after they exited a dungeon low on health and chose to try and walk to town rather than using Zoom, resulting a random encounter where they escape with only one character with a small sliver of health left. He lampshades the trope after barely surviving the encounter.
** Ogre himself is also guilty of this; during an episode of ''Jet Force Gemini'' he pretends to shoot a tribal... only to actually [[IJustShotMarvinInTheFace shoot one by accident]].
* TheVerse: Naka's own indie games (''Tofu Tower'', ''Tofu Topple'', and the upcoming ''Welgaea'' series) are all established to take place in the same universe.
* VirtualYouTuber: Vivian.exe, a blue-haired bespectacled RobotMaid who speaks with STTTS, has occasionally done a few streams in Naka's place. Starting in late 2022, Naka has begun using a 3D low-poly [[Franchise/FinalFantasy Chocobo]] to represent himself.
* {{Yandere}}: [[spoiler: Sign Maker, a.k.a. "Friend"]] from Naka's ''Minecraft'' series. According to the ''Behind the Scenes'' videos, [[spoiler: Friend]] "did not take kindly to the idea of Naka meeting and speaking and hanging out with other people", implying that [[spoiler: Friend]] killed all the people in the village and severely wounded Doggy with an explosion when Naka's back was turned because he wanted Naka all to himself.
* YankTheDogsChain: In ''Minecraft: Survival''; you want out of the mineshafts, Naka? Okay. We'll just plop you out here on a small island in the middle of the ocean.
** The [[TearJerker sad, sad fate]] of Doggie, Naka's first pet in Part 12.
** Episode 50 of ''Journey Home''. After going through most difficult dungeon to date, the only thing worthwhile things he finds is an enchanted diamond helmet and a diamond block. Not wanting to have to go back through the dungeon to get out he tunnels out of the boss' room. [[spoiler: It turns out that he passed it on the way down. Most of this hour-long episode could have been avoided if he just investigated the out-of-place brick wall.]] At the end you can hear him trying not to slip into a MadnessMantra.
** In episode 1 of ''Fate's Grasp'', the being watching over Naka seems to be fond of this, though [[JustifiedTrope Naka WAS trying to run away multiple times...]]
* YuriFan: A light touch of this is shown at times.
----
-->''"Until next time, everyone."''
