14	* Barnacle Jones and Max from ''Webcomic/OneOverZero''. Notable as most characters get a "ghost point" which effectively makes death cheap. Barnacle Jones dies before this concept is introduced and Max is killed in an accident with a device specifically designed to avoid the ghost point mechanism. Both get back from the dead when the world ends.
15	* Black Belt from ''Webcomic/EightBitTheater'' gets TakenForGranite, but eventually revived by White Mage. Too bad for Black Belt that part of his head was missing, and White Mage's healing spell didn't fix this; when she brought him back, [[{{Gorn}} the empty top of Black Belt's head showered White Mage in blood and gore]], and he died again. This was mostly [[WriterRevolt done out of spite by the author]] after fans inundated the message boards with theories on how and/or why Black Belt could be revived. The comic solving the issue was titled "[[http://www.nuklearpower.com/2005/11/10/episode-622-now-shut-up/ Now Shut Up]]" as if to further drive the point home that Black Belt was gone for good.

17	** Grant Kyokasho blows up his mortal self in a HeroicSacrifice. Fortunately, the higher-ups were so impressed with his bravery that they decide not to force him to [[{{Reincarnation}} reincarnate]] and he keeps his job in the CelestialBureaucracy.
18	** Yzin kills Alex during the final battle. That's not the For Real one, since she comes BackFromTheDead...thanks to Miya [[BalancingDeathsBooks giving up her mortal life for Alex]]. 19	* Kairi in the first season of ''Webcomic/AnsemRetort''. WordOfGod says if she had ever come back to life, he'd have officially run out of ideas.

Presumably, he starved to death. 23	* ''Webcomic/CheapThrills'' had Elizabeth Maaltajik driving her son Faris back home from soccer practice because Faris’ brother Jeordie underwent a bad trip after ingesting a shroom and was unable to perform the task. Everything is going perfectly normal in the conversation between mother and son until a truck abruptly crosses the road and hits them head on, killing them on impact.

27	* In ''Webcomic/{{Earthsong}}'', "deaths" are usually a DisneyDeath--while it looks dire for Nanashi to stab someone in the chest, what ''really'' happens is that the Siderean element of the sword removes the person's soulstone and returns them to their home planet (although, in certain cases, they may go back to a death anyway). When Beluosus invades Haven, however, Tengu is mortally wounded and ''asks'' to die rather than be sent back, a request Nanashi honors. Then Skogul kills Nanashi, and the author makes clear in TheRant that it is dead-dead. The Spinster is also killed. Other deaths include Morgan and Ulkruz, consumed by Beluosus, and the outlying members of Haven's Guard who had their soulstones ripped out of their chests.
28	* In ''Webcomic/ElGoonishShive'', despite the fact that they NeverFoundTheBody, Damien is [[http://www.egscomics.com/?date=2004-07-14 explicitly stated to never be coming back]] in the [[BonusMaterial Painted Black Special Features]] strips which constitute WordOfGod.
29	* ''{{Webcomic/Erfworld}}'' example: After Wanda gets the Arkenpliers and reveals its powers of 'decryption', Parson hopes that she can decrypt Bogroll, since he died in a HeroicSacrifice. This hope is quickly squashed when Wanda points out that his remains "were rather thoroughly obliterated."
30	* The character Bush was killed near the end of ''Webcomic/ExploitationNow''. She started off as a minor character but after CerebusSyndrome set in, she became one of the two protagonists.
31	* ''Webcomic/GirlGenius'': Due to the many methods of revivification possible in the story deaths are generally not considered permanent unless the brain was destroyed, and even then a person might be brought back just without any memories. There are still plenty of characters who are confirmed to be truly and properly dead.
32	** Dr. Beetle is blown up by his own explosive when Gil hits it back towards him. It leaves him a charred smouldering corpse with his brain completely destroyed.
33	** Moloch's brother was killed by the Heterodyne device Barry had created to shut down and hide Agatha's spark. It causes his body to quickly shut down and destroys his mind and his body is quarantined and then disposed of because it is thought he may have been killed by a new plague.
34	** Anevka could not be saved when her brain started shutting down after her father used her in his experiment. Tarvek created a clank body for her to control from her tank while she died that was designed to take over without ever realizing it had become autonomous, and his failure to save his sister has plagued him with guilt ever since.
35	** Margarella was killed when she released the Beast on accident, with Violetta confirming her aunt's death after getting a look at the very significant damage to her head.
36	** Diaz is brained with a marshmallow gun by Zola. Rather than trying to revive him, Mittlemind and Mezzasalma loot his corpse for body parts (though in fairness, [[http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20101122 some of those belonged to Mezzasalma ''first'']]).
37	** The Master was drained during his fight with the undead Storm King Andronicus Valois and then purged from the system of Paris and stabbed through while he lay near defenseless. The furious reaction of his daughter, who was also in the Paris system at the time, makes it clear the ancient powerful Spark has finally expired.
38	* ''Webcomic/GuildedAge'': The cultists' monster seems to be able to do this, since we see Rachel's player trying to get the Kingdoms of Arkerra tech support to restore her mysteriously deleted character.
39	* In ''Webcomic/TheHandbookOfHeroes'', while most characters who die can be resurrected (it is a ''D&D'' comic, after all), the readers were allowed to vote on one character to kill off for real. 52	** Crystal was resurrected once (or to be more precise, made into a sentient golem). Next time she was dumped into lava, making sure she won't come back ever.
53	* While the canon [[Manga/SailorMoon manga]] left their fate ambiguous, ''WebComic/SailorMoonCosmosArc'' confirmed that the Starlight Senshi, Kakyuu, and any other senshi whose planet was destroyed were not reincarnated when the Galaxy Cauldron rebooted the universe.
54	* Angels and demons are told to not have any afterlife in ''Webcomic/SlightlyDamned''. WordOfGod says that the character in question was created completely from the dreamer's imagination, no BackFromTheDead involved.
55	* Faye [=MacIntire=] from ''Webcomic/SomethingPositive'' dies quietly in her sleep after skipping a day off work to spend with her loving husband, Fred.
56	* The trope itself became a huge component of the last book of ''Webcomic/{{Sonichu}}''. After the author changed a fan character into a woman (Simonla Rosechu) and included her in the comic, he was demanded to remove her multiple times. Eventually the author was extorted into believing that he would be sued if he did not remove her and by that time the demand had become so great that it was upgraded to killing her off on-panel. Simonla is blown up by an exploding toilet.
57	* Dave Kelly was very fond of this trope in his comics. In ''Purple Pussy'' he killed off Shelly Squirrel, and all the characters expected she'd come back since this was just a comic. She didn't. And in his other comic, ''Living In Grey Town'', he had so many important characters killed off willy-nilly that he added in a counter for every time a character died. By the end there were only a handful left.
58	* Many ''Webcomic/{{Wonderlab}}'' characters, minor and major alike, meet their ends through the series:
59	** Parker was lured into Dingle-Dangle's Containment Unit via hallucinations of the Agents accompanying them being assimilated into the Abnormality. Dingle-Dangle proceeds to wrap Parker in its numerous tendrils before the entity was suppressed by Catt, killing Parker in the process.
60	** Narae ended up fusing with My Sweet Home after spending a bit too much time performing Attachment Work on it. Taii shoots a bullet through Narae's head before Catt chops it off, suppressing the Abnormality.
61	** Beozzi gets transformed into the Hermit of the Azure Forest by the Servant of Wrath. Said Hermit ends up being defeated by the Servant later on.
62	** Alex attempts to fend off Nobody Is after a major Containment Breach takes place in Alex's branch. One episode later, and Nobody Is is shown having absorbed Alex, taking on their identity.
63	** Rose gets sacrificed to the Staining Rose.
64	** Rza and the Department Heads (sans Beebi) end up dying while trying to fend off the rampaging Abnormalities. This at least buys Beebi and the other survivors time to escape the collapsed facility.
