->'''Hibiki''': I will acquire for you ''that plushie that you want, Tsubasa!''\
'''Tsubasa''': I hope you can, but aren't you a little too into this game?\
'''Hibiki''': ''[slams fist down on crane machine's start button]'' '''''KYAAAAA!!!!'''''
-->-- ''Anime/{{Symphogear}}''
----
%%* ''Manga/AkameGaKill'' has [[ChivalrousPervert Lubbock]] to a lesser degree.
* ''Akane Maniax'':
** Ryouko Subaru is a lot more competent, but loves performing the archetypal HotBlooded battle cry "Ora ora ora ora!" when charging the enemy.
%%** Jouji Gouda.
* Many characters in ''Manga/AttackOnTitan'', which is often the only thing that keeps them going due to the hopelessness of their situation.
** Deconstructed, when Eren's {{Hot Blooded}}ness ends up [[spoiler:getting his entire squad killed within the first few minutes of combat]]. The only reason anyone survives is because [[spoiler:Eren's LovecraftianSuperpower manifests for the first time, saving him after he's swallowed by a Titan]] and also saving Armin in the process. But since Eren runs on ThePowerOfHate and pure, terrifying [[{{Determinator}} determination]] it more often than not works out for him otherwise.
** Reiner Braun is almost as hot-blooded as Eren, but a little smarter about it. It results in some truly epic moments of badassery, though he tempers his passion by being very [[TeamDad group-minded]]. [[spoiler:Clinging to it is the only thing that snaps him out of his VillainousBSOD]].
** Pick any battle scene. More than likely, the soldiers will be pumped up on this to counter the PrimalFear of being EatenAlive and the high likelihood of having RedShirt status.
* Deconstructed with Ban Shogo from ''Manga/{{Bambino}}''. Ban is quick-tempered and gets easily riled up at minor provocations, and his brash reactions tend to get himself and other people into trouble.
* The title character of ''Manga/BirdyTheMighty'' is very rowdy and quick to anger, to the point that NobleTopEnforcer Gomez calls her out on her inability to control her temper.
* ''Manga/BlackClover'':
** Asta is extremly enthusiastic about his dream and is always giving everything his maximum effort and with his frequent screaming that always hypes up his already energetic attitude. This can also be used with his near unstoppable determination when he really gets his blood boiling and will push himself beyond his limits with sheer fiery willpower and taken to greater lengths when angered as he becomes very passionate and is veru willing to overpower his enemies for unleashing his fury.
** Magna Swing is loud-mouthed and passionate about whatever he does, whether it's throwing fireballs in battle or getting annoyed with his fellow Black Bulls.
** The Vermillion Family are, for the most part, explosive, strong-headed and loud. Leopold is very passionate and brash, acting without thinking. Yuno refers to him as another muscle-head like Asta. Mereoleona can be very short-tempered and fierce. Fuegoleon is not as bad as his siblings, but he has his moments.
* ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'':
** In Karakura Town, Don Kanonji and Isshin Kurosaki ([[HiddenDepths his public persona]], at least, in the latter's case).
** Keigo also fits this trope in a way, since the dude lives his entire life in a colorful, energetic fast-forward. He does everything big and passionate! He's not particularly brave and enthusiastic about fighting, though. Then he partially lampshades this by playing '''[[TranquilFury Hisagi Shuuhei]]''', since that character, despite being many things, is not hot-blooded.
** Also, Grimmjow is about as hot blooded as they come, as is ''Creator/NobuyukiHiyama'''s Madarame Ikkaku.
** Avirama Redder, Barragan's hyperactive, battle-hungry fraccion, beats them all in hot-bloodedness. He's even color-coded.
** The Vandenreich have Bambietta Basterbine, Candice Catnipp and Bazz-B. All of them are passionate and quick-tempered people, [[HavingABlast and they]] [[PsychoElectro all have]] [[PlayingwithFire matching powers.]]
** Byakuya Kuchiki was more excitable as a kid. The present storyline all but confirms that he's still this -- he's just very, very, ''very'' good at [[TheStoic hiding it]].
** Renji Abarai is quite hot-blooded, especially in the earlier chapters of the manga. However, after the timeskip, he seems to have calmed down a little but, but it's still very much there.
* ''Manga/BoBoBoBoBoBoBo'': One of Bo-Bo-Bo's secret techniques is the "Romanticized Heat Flame Macho Men", where the enemy's soul is burned by the heroes's sheer Hot Bloodedness. They're so Hot Blooded that they defeat death and eventually destroy the sun.
* Phantom F. Harlock from ''Anime/CaptainHarlock'' who is a very passionate man, despite being TheStoic.
* [[FairyCompanion Keroberos]] of ''Manga/CardcaptorSakura'' counts a great deal of the time. Especially when he's [[BigEater demanding food, eating food]], [[BerserkButton freaking out over the latest mishap]], or [[KnightInShiningArmor protecting Sakura]].
* ''Manga/CaseClosed'' has the "School Detective of the West", Heiji Hattori, who is hotblooded and impulsive to the freaking MAX. It's both a pro (he works nonstop to solve cases and bring justice thanks to his determination) and a con (he either jumps into conclusions or puts himself in needless trouble for it).
* Touma Kamijou of ''Literature/ACertainMagicalIndex'' can get rather hot-blooded on occasion. The trigger varies, but it's mainly when someone is in danger or hurt.
** [[ShockAndAwe Mikoto]] [[{{Tsundere}} Misaka]] of ''Manga/ACertainScientificRailgun'' is ''even more'' hot blooded than Touma.
* Karin from "Manga/ChibiDevi" is the quickest of the babies to lose her temper, which doesn't take much. Though in a twist of irony, her magic is [[AnIcePerson ice based]], while the much more even tempered Mao gets [[PlayingWithFire fire]].
* Rosette Christopher from ''Manga/ChronoCrusade'', particularly the manga. A hyper, hot-tempered, tomboyish nun who fights demons using bullets charged with holy power, and often gets ''so'' into her battles that she causes massive property damage.
* Taishi from ''VideoGame/ComicParty''. Did you know manga is SeriousBusiness? If not, then you don't know Taishi, a grandiose drama king who treats ''everything'' as a matter of life or death.
** Yuu Inagawa, who gives a rousing speech about "Burning Passion" and "Passionate Love", which culminates in a vast inferno starting up behind her. She was trying to motivate a friend to... be more passionate about doujinshi.
** And Subaru, who honestly seems to think her life is a shounen manga (and that she's the star).
* ''Manga/DearBrother'' is a melodramatic oldschool shoujo, so it has intensely emotional characters. Among the most hotblooded girls we have [[PassionateSportsGirl Kaoru "Kaoru-no-Kimi" Orihara]], [[PluckyGirl Tomoko Arikura]] and '''specially''' [[{{Yandere}} Mariko]] [[{{Tsundere}} Shinobu.]]
* In ''Manga/DeathNote'' this is averted with L, who's generally calm and level-headed despite being voiced by the aforementioned Kappei Yamaguchi. [[Creator/MamoruMiyano Light]] too is generally pretty stoical though he's pretty passionate about his cause in private and gets [[LargeHam quite hammy]] with his speeches. [[Creator/MasayaMatsukaze Mikami]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZFoO3HhcwE has his moments as well]]. But [[Creator/NozomuSasaki Mello]] is ''definitely'' the most HotBlooded one in the series.
* And Akira Fudo from ''Manga/{{Devilman}}''. He can give Vegeta from ''Manga/DragonBall'' a run for his money any day.
* ''Every'' [[TheHero main hero]] in every ''Franchise/{{Digimon}}'' canon ever, except [[Anime/DigimonTamers Takato]] who, like the rest of ''Tamers'', was a deliberate breaking of the mold. They all have [[PlayingWithFire the matching]] PersonalityPowers, and some do it much more than others.
** Masaru Daimon, TheHero of ''Anime/DigimonDataSquad'', whose hot-blooded force of will grants him the ability to punch out everything from giant chickens to ''[[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu god itself]].''
*** [[Anime/MobileFighterGGundam Hotblooded, his fists glow with an awesome power, and it grows as he delivers his love, his anger, and all of his sorrow.]] Sound familiar?
** This was parodied in a one off crossover special of ''Manga/DigimonVTamer01'', where [[TheHero Taichi]] faces off against CanonImmigrant [[VideoGame/DigimonAdventureAnodeCathodeTamer Ryo]], who had crossed over just for that special. A powerful Digimon sent by [[BigBad Daemon]] tries to stop them, but due to being an icy Digimon, the literal hot bloodedness caused by [[HamToHamCombat Taichi and Ryo's meeting]] causes the monster to overheat.
** Daisuke Motomiya of ''Anime/DigimonAdventure02'', who has what looks to be the start of what could become [[HotbloodedSideburns some truly epic sideburns]], and one of the most powerful attacks available to [[ChromeChampion one of]] his partner V-mon's forms is the [[Manga/GetterRobo Stoner Sunshine]], as seen in movie 3. Also, in the final battle he shrugs off the LotusEaterMachine which claims all of his friends out of ''pure hotblooded {{determinat|or}}ion'' to end the BigBad, no matter how many orders of magnitude more powerful he is than V-mon.
** Subverted with Taiki, the lead of ''Anime/DigimonFusion'', who, while certainly passionate, counterbalances it by actually being a level-headed strategist and the single most cunning protagonist in any ''Digimon'' incarnation. Meanwhile, it's played epically straight with his partner Shoutmon, probably the hotblooded monster character in the franchise, and possibly is even more hotblooded than Masaru. Then came Tagiru of ''Anime/DigimonXrosWarsTheYoungHuntersWhoLeaptThroughTime'', who blurs the line between hot blood and {{Keet}}; ''steam blasts out of his nose when he's excited''.
*** ''Fusion'' also happens to offer [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLfoMQC0aFE an excellent condensation of pure anime hot blood into musical form]].
* Vegeta from ''Manga/DragonBall'' is such this trope that it really can just be called "The Vegeta." He is almost nothing but pure anger, pride and bloodlust. In fact, this seems to be the main attribute of the Saiyan Race in general, with Goku being the exception to the rule. Goku's still a {{Determinator}}, which is bad news for his opponents.
* ''Manga/FairyTail''. The guild, but particularly Natsu.
** Because of Natsu's [[WreathedInFlames Flames of Emotion]] technique, whenever he's feeling particularly hot-blooded he will catch fire. This is PlayedForLaughs about as often as it is PlayedForDrama.
* ''Anime/FateStayNightUnlimitedBladeWorks'' has Taiga Fujimura, Shirou's English teacher and older sister-figure. She says and does everything energetically, and doesn't seem to have an "indoor voice."
* ''Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar'' has a number of hot-blooded characters, but curiously, the main character isn't one of them. [[BigBad Raoh]] seems to go from AloofBigBrother to HotBlooded badass at the drop of a hat, in particular when he's confronted with a WorthyOpponent. In fact, his [[spoiler:death]] was so hot-blooded that he burned away the constantly overcast clouds while [[spoiler:sending his own soul to Heaven, lifting a good amount of depression from the CrapsackWorld on his way to, presumably, go kick God's ass.]]
* Kyo Sohma from ''Manga/FruitsBasket''. Short-tempered, passionate, competitive, and persistent, he rivals Vegeta in the possible TropeNamer category. He even has his own Goku of sorts in [[AlwaysSomeoneBetter Yuki]] whom he has a poor relationship with [[spoiler:for most of the series]]. However, his qualification for this trope fades away as CharacterDevelopment takes its place.
* Major Armstrong from ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'', resident LargeHam, [[CatchPhrase WHOSE HOT-BLOODEDNESS HAS BEEN PASSED DOWN THE ARMSTRONG LINE FOR GENERATIONS!]]
* Tasuki of ''Manga/FushigiYuugi'' is a FieryRedhead who uses a [[CallingYourAttacks screaming]] [[PersonalityPowers fire attack]] as his main mode of offense... and he becomes genuinely and completely enraged when brainwashed Tamahome breaks Miaka's heart, and proceeds to give a furious [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech lecture]] expounding on how horrible it is. That's right, he is so HotBlooded that speechifying in defense of a 15-year-old schoolgirl's feelings somehow only makes him look MORE badass.
* Hayato Kazami, the protagonist of ''Anime/FutureGPXCyberFormula'', is this. Also being a {{determinator}}, with the help of Asurada, he often comes out on top every time.
* Yankumi in ''Manga/{{Gokusen}}'' is another example, although many other characters also qualify.
* For a mere school teacher, Manga/GreatTeacherOnizuka is quite HotBlooded. Let's just say he always goes the extra mile; If you're got a problem, he'll tear your wall down with a sledgehammer. Guaranteed.
** And that was just the first story arc. Later in the series, he's driving motorcycles off highway overpasses and [[spoiler:coming back from the dead]] to teach life lessons.
* Literature/HaruhiSuzumiya approaches this on occasion, mainly when she's accepting a challenge (like in "The Day Of Sagittarius"). But hey, maybe it's just megalomania!
* Alec from ''Anime/SandyBell'' has a DarkAndTroubledPast due to his drug addict AbusiveDad, and constantly butts heads with Sandybell at their job. He swears to outdo her because he wants to see her face as she's defeated by him.
* [[AnthropomorphicPersonification Prussia]] from ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers'' is a crazier version of this. "Mission complete! Praise me! Hail me! On your knees!"
** In his official profile, Iceland is described as "hot-blooded and passionate." Although, in the very few strips he's shown up in, he seems to be just as stoic as his older brother [[DeadpanSnarker Norway]], that is, until the "Biiiig Brooooother" thing comes up, in which he gets into an irritated fit.
*** He did seem quite determined in the [[Manga/HetaliaBloodbath2010 Christmas special]]. Maybe it just takes time for his [[{{Pun}} volcano to erupt.]]
** Denmark is also an example, right down to being [[BoisterousBruiser boisterous]] and [[BloodKnight having a lot of fun in fights.]]
** Hungary isn't that hotblooded at first sight, as she's a sweet and kind TeamMom. Give her a weapon and [[ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend send her out]] to protect [[NonActionGuy Austria]], though...
--->'''Hungary:''' Crush vital regions, crush vital regions... CRUSH PRUSSIA! CRUSH PRUSSIA!
** Among the other girls, Seychelles and Belarus have their own Hotblooded moments. The first rejects England's claims on her without hesitation, the second goes ''very'' competitive in Manga/{{Hetaween 2011}}.
** Turkey is also pretty hotblooded when he wants to. Put him next to [[TheRival Greece]] and '''both''' of them will go HotBlooded. [[SitcomArchnemesis and start fighting each other.]]
** Among the Asians, the closest to the HotBlooded archetype is [[{{Keet}} South Korea]].
* Anime/{{Inuyasha}}, voiced by Kappei Yamaguchi, who also voiced [[Manga/RanmaOneHalf Ranma Saotome]], the character the former's based on.
* Downplayed in ''Literature/JigokuNoGoukaDeYakaReTsuzuketaShounen''. Flare is passionate about his training to the point of doing double the amount of exercise his master told him to. But he's easygoing and carefree outside of that, only getting heated up (along with his hellfire) in tense situations.
* In ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'', it's practically a requirement to be Hot Blooded to be a [=JoJo=], along with being badass.
** Jonathan Joestar from ''[[Manga/JojosBizarreAdventurePhantomBlood Phantom Blood]]''. The difference between his Hot Bloodedness and [[BigBad Dio]]'s is while Dio gets sloppier, Jonathan only comes back stronger.
** Robert E. O. Speedwagon is so Hot Blooded that he ''cures frostbite using his chest''.
** Joseph Joestar is one of the more emotional [=JoJos=] in the series, a trait often combined with his status as a LargeHam.
** ''[[Manga/JojosBizarreAdventureBattleTendency Battle Tendency]]'':
*** As the audience gets to know him better, Caesar Zeppeli is shown to be this. [[spoiler:[[FatalFlaw It's also the thing that ends up getting him killed]]]].
*** The [[HumanoidAbomination Pillar Man]] Esidisi is both the oldest and most hotheaded of the three[[note]] Technically four, but they ditch Santana in Mexico [[/note]], enough for him to have to [[OcularGushers cry]] to calm himself down. [[PersonalityPowers His personality extends to his abilities]]; Esidisi can cook his foes alive by using his [[MyBloodRunsHot super-heated blood]] by transferring it though his [[CombatTentacles veins]] or by [[TakingYouWithMe blowing himself up.]]
** Jotaro manages to somehow combine this with being TheStoic. He will rarely express himself above flat statements despite powering through opponents like a knife through butter. It takes hammering his BerserkButton (or [[UnwantedHarem being female and trying to get his attention]]) to get him to actually show his Hot Bloodedness.
** Muhammed Abdul from ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureStardustCrusaders Stardust Crusaders]]'' is usually one of the [[FieryStoic calmer]] heroes in the series. However, he's also quite short-tempered, as shown during the [[AbsurdlyHighStakesGame battle]] against Daniel J. D'Arby.
** Jean-Pierre Polnareff is an EmotionalBruiser who's constantly dripping ManlyTears.
** Okuyasu Nijimura from ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureDiamondIsUnbreakable Diamond Is Unbreakable]]'' is this. Combined with being an IdiotHero, [[AttackAttackAttack he tends to rush into things without thinking]].
** Narancia Ghirga from ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureGoldenWind Golden Wind]]'' has a HairTriggerTemper, and as a result tends to end up spending most his fights yelling.
** Ermes Costello from ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureStoneOcean Stone Ocean]]'' is extremely impulsive, a trait that [[FatalFlaw tends to get her into a lot of trouble]].
** Johnny Joestar from ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureSteelBallRun Steel Ball Run]]'' is probably the most outwardly aggressive of the [=JoJos=].
* As Manga/KenichiTheMightiestDisciple receives TrainingFromHell he also becomes distinctly more HotBlooded.
** His masters Appachai and Sakaki were like this to begin with.
* Ryuko from ''Anime/KillLaKill'' is this in more ways than one. Not only does she fit this trope in her traditional sense, but during her UnstoppableRage in episode 12, her blood ''literally boils with rage''. This could actually count as a [[DeconstructedTrope deconstruction]], since this basically poisons her [[ThePowerOfBlood blood-powered]] [[ClothesMakeTheSuperman outfit]] and turns her into an [[OneWingedAngel Lovecraftian monstrosity]] [[TheBerserker unable to distinguish allies from enemies]].
* The Bakunetsu Bancho from ''Manga/KongohBancho'' is exactly this. Repeatedly screams that "Men who aren't hot-blooded should die!", as seen [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2z689rt.jpg here.]]
** Appropriately, his hair seems to be on fire.
* As a sports manga, ''Manga/KurokosBasketball'' naturally has this all over the place, but special mention goes to Kagami.
* Parodied by Meito Anizawa, AKA Anime Tenchou, the {{Mascot}} of anime outlet Animate and frequent special guest on ''Manga/LuckyStar'': So HotBlooded he [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjgsNSMG7Bw sets fire to bystanders and has to be put out by a fire hose]]. He's sort of a parody of Domon Kasshu, who was voiced by the same actor as Anisawa.
** In the ''Lucky Star in Budokan'' live event, Creator/TomokazuSeki even cosplayed as Anizawa and he attacked Creator/MinoruShiraishi with ''Shining Finger''.
** The rest of the Animate staff are almost at his level, including a rookie introduced later in the series. It seems to be part of standard staff training at Animate.
*** Even the President is Hotblooded, even moreso than Anisawa. Sadly he only makes one brief appearance at Comiket.
** Anime Tenchou is so HotBlooded, in fact, that [[VideoGame/Disgaea4APromiseUnforgotten demons]] summon him to set enemies on fire.
* ''Anime/LucyMayOfTheSouthernRainbow'' has Lucy's big brother Ben. When Mr. Pettywell held up the line and claimed he should be prioritized because of his money, Ben cursed him out because Clara was ill and he was barring her from leaving the ship. When Mr. Jamling chose to work for Mr. Pettywell, Ben became frustrated and dubbed him a "traitor". In response to this, Arthur Popple replied that it was solely his right to work with whoever he pleased and they had to respect it. Many AnAesop is of Ben learning to channel his anger properly.
* Subaru of ''Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaStrikers'', who's a massive ShoutOut to ''Anime/GaoGaiGar'' and {{Super Robot}}s in general.
** Subaru is something of a subversion as outside of battle, she's actually more of a mild-mannered GenkiGirl, who serves as a foil for her {{Tsundere}} teammate, Teana.
** Vita is even more HotBlooded. She attacks and destroys everybody with pure HotBlooded anger. Her hammer Graf Eisen is also a ShoutOut to Guy's Goldion Hammer.
** The series in general, especially considering it's a '''Magical Girl''' anime.
* In ''Manga/MarchComesInLikeALion'', Issa Matsumoto is about as hot-blooded as one could be as a shogi player, vowing to defeat Rei in an early match using his "Way of Shogi."
* Obviously, the Navis belonging to Hino Ken of ''VideoGame/MegaManBattleNetwork'', but Fireman takes the prize for the line, "There's nothing I can't burn... no, there's nothing ''we'' can't burn!" Dubbed by [=ShoPro=] into an extremely generic teamwork speech, which is why the example isn't cited under ''Anime/MegaManNTWarrior''.
%%* Ryogoku from ''Anime/MiracleTrain'' definitely has his moments.
* ''Anime/MischievousTwinsTheTalesOfStClares'': In the first episode, Patricia can't control her rage when she's told she has to go to Saint Clare's, and argues with her parents. At Saint Clare's, she gets into verbal arguements with the other girls (particularly Janet) because they dislike her behaviour.
* Saikawa from ''Manga/MissKobayashisDragonMaid'' is very belligerent and confrontational, often biting more than she can chew. She's mellower and more sociable in Kanna's manga spinoff.
* Two of them in ''Manga/MonsterMusume''; ironically, one is [[SnakePeople physically cold-blooded]] and the [[OurZombiesAreDifferent other is just cold]]:
** Miia is [[ClingyJealousGirl very,]] [[CuddleBug very,]] [[LovableSexManiac VERY]] passionate about her "darling," [[TheTease shamelessly flaunting her assets and seducing him at every possible opportunity.]] [[CelibateHero (It doesn't work.)]]
** [[AmazonBrigade MON]] has Zombina, who happily [[GunTwirling twirls]] [[GunsAkimbo her guns]] to shoot ''through'' herself and at a target behind her. Since she's [[ImmuneToBullets already]] [[DeadToBeginWith dead,]] her only [[GunKata real concern]] [[RuleOfCool is looking cool.]]
* If you had to describe Inasa Yoarashi from ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'' in one word, this trope would be your best choice. He has NoIndoorVoice whatsoever, loves getting into the thick of battle, and this trope is almost quoted verbatim at his profile page as his favorite thing. His very introduction has him join U.A. students in shouting "Plus Ultra!" and then apologise by bowing so hard he hits the pavement and injures his forehead.
--> ''"I believe that heroes are hot-blooded! Everybody fighting!! Everybody's fired up!! I love it when things get hot!!"''
* ''Anime/MyHime'' has Haruka Suzushiro, head of Fuka Academy's Executive Committee, who once kicked a tank. And head-butted a Hime even as she starts dying. ''Anime/MyOtome'' has her equivalent, Haruka Armitage, who makes her debut hoisting an aircraft.
* Naruto and Might Guy from ''Manga/{{Naruto}}''. In ''Shippuden'', Guy actually uses a technique known as ''Morning Peacock'', a high-level technique to shoot fire from his fists in such a flurry it resembled the bright feathers of a peacock. And no, it's not ninjutsu; he's just so damn hot-blooded the friction of his fist against the ''air'' starts a fire.
** And Rock Lee too. He's Guy's protege, so he's like this also. He was nicknamed the "Hot-Blooded Dropout".
*** When Lee and Guy hug, the sheer amount of passion generated is enough to warp reality and cause a [[AgainstTheSettingSun cliffside sunset]] to appear... indoors in the middle of a perfectly level forest.
*** Fanon is that it's Guy's Genjutsu.
** Kiba's also quite HotBlooded -- according to Naruto, even more so than he, himself, is. Whenever Kiba's name is posted on this site, it is a link back to this page.
** [[GenerationXerox Naruto's mother]], [[LikeParentLikeChild Kushina]], was more HotBlooded than everyone else, earning the nickname ''Red Hot-Blooded Habanero''.
** Didn't someone say "hotblooded Sakura Haruno" in another article?
** When the [[spoiler:seventh gate]] is opened, Gai's [[HotBlooded hot blood goes supernova]]. Instead of his punches that shoot fireballs, he can punch a tiger face made of {{awesomeness|IsAForce}} into existence. Just ask [[spoiler:Kisame]].
*** And it wasn't just fire, oh no, according to him(at least in the anime) the bear(it was a bear in the anime) he punched was made of youthful vigour. Let me reiterate that: ''the man punched to create a bear made of youthful vigour''. [[BrokenBase Reactions are still mixed as to whether or not this counts as]] DeusExMachina so he could beat the aforementioned spoilerd character.
** Gai's Eighth Gate takes HotBlooded to an entirely new level, as [[spoiler:his sweat aura makes way for a blood vapor. Which he uses to [[FlashStep attain aerial movement by kicking the air with such force that it acts as a platform]], create ''massive elephant stomps'' by merely punching the air, and ultimately create a titanic dragon aura out of his chakra, blood, and ash, centering on a relativistic-speed kick]].
* ''Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi'':
** Jack Rakan is hot-blooded to the point of utter absurdity. And ''any'' problem can be solved by summoning a [[{{BFS}} big enough sword]]. Or by [[PecFlex flexing]].
** Ricardo is a hot-blooded ''senator'' of a major country. The two used to be drinking buddies before Ricardo started doing the politician thing.
** On the villain side, we have Secundum, the PsychoElectro of Kosmo Entelecheia. His creator admitted to dialing all his emotions up to eleven in an attempt to understand Nagi's HeroicWillpower.
* Manga/{{Nora}} isn't hot-blooded; hot-blooded characters are merely infected with the Nora Plague.
* Luffy from ''Manga/OnePiece''.
** Luffy's "Gear Second" form which involves him using his rubberman powers to pump his blood around faster than normal with the resulting increase in temperature causing steam to rise from his body. In other words, when in Gear Second, he's powered by hot blood!
** Sanji too. He burns with the passion of love! In fact, his blood burns so hot that it's [[ItRunsOnNonsensoleum the reason]] he can avoid injury from ''setting his own leg on fire''.
*** Post-timeskip, [[spoiler: his "Hell Memories" technique sets his entire body on fire]].
** And Zoro as a kid, before...''stuff'' happened.
** Boa Hancock gets this way whenever Luffy is involved ([[ShrinkingViolet except whenever he's actually in her presence, though]]).
* ''Anime/PokemonTheSeries'':
** Ash Ketchum, almost to the point of {{Flanderization}} (alongside IdiotHero). [[CharacterDevelopment He's gotten a good deal more mature in recent years]], but being HotBlooded to the max comes naturally considering he's voiced by Mrs. Creator/RicaMatsumoto. A good example comes in the first movie, when he faces down the PhysicalGod Mewtwo, who uses his near-infinite psychic powers to disable all the other Pokemon present. Ordinary 10-year-old boy Ash's response? Punch him in the face! Unfortunately, it doesn't work out well for him.
** Some rivals of Ash are also pretty HotBlooded, specially Gym Leader Chuck (Shijima) from Johto, Morrison (Masamune) from the Hoenn tournament, and Chuck's disciple, Arena Tycoon Greta (Arena Captain Kogomi) from the Frontier Brains group. Greta is actually so HotBlooded that when she and Ash face off, they often stare at each other and fire erupts in the background, with Brock and May lampshading the trope by commenting on how passionate and similar they are.
** Canalave Gym Leader Byron (Tougan) is the newest one in the list of passionate Gym Leaders, and may be the most hot-blooded of them all -- he shares the same seiyuu as Franky of ''Manga/OnePiece'' (the dub successfully matches this performance with Creator/DanGreen), and most of his scenes in the battle with Ash look like they may have been inspired from ''Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann''!
** Crossing into ''Manga/PokemonAdventures'', we have our share of hot blood pumping around. Gold and Pearl in particular demonstrate this quality in spades.
*** And Black manages to beat them all. He feels the need to scream out his dreams over a cliff on a near-daily basis. He can't think of anything else besides becoming [[IncomingHam "THE CHAMPION OF THE POKEMON LEAGUE!"]] and being unable to function in daily life without his Munna eating his dreams.
** Other manga have their share of HotBlooded protagonists. ''Manga/PokemonDiamondAndPearlAdventure'' has Hareta, ''Manga/PokemonGoldenBoys'' has Gold, ''Manga/PocketMonsters'' has Red, etc.
* ''Anime/PrettyCure'':
** Akane Hino/Cure Sunny of ''Anime/SmilePrettyCure''. She even describes herself as "hot-blooded" in her IAmHeroHearMeRoar speech.
** Erika Kurumi/Cure Marine and [[BloodKnight Kumojaki]] from ''Anime/HeartcatchPrettyCure'' fits this, despite the fact the former is ''water''-elemental.
* Takashi Kawamura from ''Anime/ThePrinceOfTennis'' looks meek and gentle and a bit of a doormat, but if you give him a racket, he wakes up to his hidden HotBlooded side and ''nothing'' can stop him. '''BUUUUUURRRRRRNIIIIIIINNNNNGGG''', indeed. His kouhai Takeshi Momoshiro (who also is a power player, like Kawamura) and local GenkiGirl cheerleader Tomoka Osakada are also HotBlooded, but not to the awesome level of Kawamura... ''yet''.
** For the rival teams there's Ryoh Shishido of Hyoutei, who subjected himself to ridiculously harsh training to earn back his spot on the team. He loses his temper often, and is vocal about it, he this same passion can also bring up morale on his team.
** Mukahi Gakuto of Hyoutei, whom immediately did his acrobatics because of Kikumaru. Also oftens bicker with Shishido.
** Akaya Kirihara from Rikkaidai counts as this, until his BloodKnight side arises.
** Akira Kamio from Fudomine as well. [[CatchPhrase He'll do it WITH RHYTHM~]]
** FieryRedhead and GeniusDitz Kintarou "Kin-chan" Tooyama.
** And there's also Kunimitsu Tezuka. [[TheStoic Yes, THAT Tezuka]]. But exclusively in regards to tennis.
** In the TV series, Kevin Smith also has his HotBlooded moments.
* Kaoru of ''Manga/PsychicSquad''. Not only is she [[LovableSexManiac lecherous]], [[LargeHam ridiculously over the top]] in her day to day life, but she ''[[CallingYourAttacks calls her attacks]]'' when it's completely unnecessary as her powers are psychic in nature. Minamoto also does this whenever he releases the girls' [[PowerLimiter psychic limiters]] for no other reason than adhering to the RuleOfCool.
* Shizuma Kusanagi from ''Manga/RealBoutHighSchool'', a pompous showboat with explosive moves and the only one who can hold a candle to TheHero, Ryoko Mitsurugi.
* Ryohei Sasagawa from ''Manga/Reborn2004'' runs on Hot Blood - TO THE EXTREME. Reborn and Tsuna were surprised when the "Dying Will Shot" did nothing to him except give him the cool "burning flame" on his forehead - apparently, he lives his ''normal'' life doing things as if he were to die.
** Or how about Squalo? [[CatchPhrase VOOOOOIIIIIIII]] [[BattleCry indeed]].
* In ''Manga/TheRedRangerBecomesAnAdventurerInAnotherWorld'', Tougo approaches almost everything in life with zeal and enthusiasm. Almost nothing is able to get him down and he's never not shouting at the top of his lungs as he rushes off to do some other improbable thing. His eyes even light up with fire when he's especially excited.
-->'''Idola:''' [[LampshadeHanging How are you so passionate about everything?!]]
* Ryo Sanada aka Rekka No Ryo/Ryo of Wildfire in ''Anime/RoninWarriors'' is the passionate PlayingWithFire [[TheHero leader]]. While hotblooded, not the most hotblooded on the team. That title goes to Kento/Shu Rei Faun and they both sport HotbloodedSideburns.
* Sanosuke Sagara (mostly), [[GenerationXerox Sagara's father Kamishimoemon]], and Yahiko Myoujin from ''Manga/RurouniKenshin''.
** By now, you, dear viewer, are probably thinking that this is a heroic trope alone. So when you hear about the Japanese pseudo-{{Mummy}} by the name of Makoto Shishio, you might think he's the badass protagonist of a shonen manga. You got the badass part right, but as for the ''hero'' part... [[DiabolicalMastermind not]] [[SocialDarwinist so]] [[MagnificentBastard much]]. In fact, Shishio is actually '''''SO''''' HotBlooded that he [[spoiler:dies when his blood overheats [[ManOnfire and he spontaneously combusts]].]]
* ''Anime/SailorMoon'':
** Rei. In the anime, she's the most temperamental, and usually one of the first ones to charge into a fight. She definitely has the skills to back it up and has destroyed several monsters on her own, even without transforming once. In the manga she is still quite passionate, but never quite goes this far.
** Usagi is a NiceGirl, but she often can be quite moody, over emotional, and temperamental, [[ClingyJealousGirl especially when it comes to Mamoru]].
** Minako as well. In the manga, she's the most proactive of the soldiers. In her own words, "[[{{Determinator}} giving up are the words]] [[PluckyGirl [she] hates the most!]]". It's most prevalent in ''Codename: Sailor V'', as she dials it down a bit from there.
* The entire cast of ''Manga/SaintSeiya'' run on {{Hot Blooded}}ness with the (arguable) exception of [[TeamMom Saori]]. They even sport HotbloodedSideburns.
* ''Manga/SakigakeOtokojuku'' parodies this sort of character.
* Kenji Harima from ''Manga/SchoolRumble''. Attempting to list all of the hotblooded things he does is a futile effort, but his CMOA of hotblooded-ness was probably [[spoiler:when he fought with Karasuma at the end of the series. He handcuffed them together just so that it'd be easier for the two of them to beat each other up.]]
** Haruki Hanai!
%%* Kazuma from ''Anime/{{Scryed}}''.
* ''VideoGame/SengokuBasara'''s Date Masamune, for starters... but Hot Blooded though he is, Masamune still manages to be the [[RedOniBlueOni Blue Oni]] to Sanada Genjiro Yukimura's [[RedOniBlueOni Red Oni]] because Yukimura is ''that much more'' Hot Blooded. Yukimura and his boss Takeda Shingen - but especially Yukimura - are both so Hot Blooded that they [[IncendiaryExponent set things on fire]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzzYINmiGFk OYAKATA-SAMA!! YUKIMURA!!]]
** Chosokabe Motochika, the pirate lord and his followers. Even old nannies wanted to join the fight.
* Kogoro of ''Manga/SgtFrog'' is so passionate, he wastes three thousand calories just picking up a ten yen coin. If it wasn't for his incredible stupidity, he might actually accomplish something.
* Horohoro from ''Manga/ShamanKing'', despite being an ice-elemental shaman, is passionate and not afraid to go all-out when it comes to battling. An example of a good demonstration of this is during the first rounds of the Shaman Fight where he's up against the laid-back and calm Yoh.
* Manga artist Kazuhiko Shimamoto ''loves'' hot-bloodedness to the point that it's something of a trademark for him (and often parodied). His many works include ''Manga/BlazingTransferStudent'' (about hot-blooded high school fighting), ''Manga/GyakkyouNine'' (hot-blooded baseball) and ''Manga/MoeyoPen'' (hot-blooded ''manga writing''), and he was the designer of such characters as [[Manga/LuckyStar Meito Anisawa]], the entire cast of ''Anime/MobileFighterGGundam'' and Hayato Nekketsu from ''VideoGame/RivalSchools.''
** Here he is singing the opening to one of his own series, ''Blazing Transfer Student'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkL8UZjLWz8&fmt=18]]. You can ''feel'' the hot-blooded passion. Set to a video of ''Anime/MobileFighterGGundam'', naturally.
* ''Manga/SlamDunk'': I'm a basketball genius... My name is '''SAKURAGI HANAMICHIIIII!!!'''
* Princess Amelia wil Tesla Saillune of ''Anime/{{Slayers}}''—adrenalin-charged Warrioress of Justice! Who fought bandits and monsters and made vigorous proclamation speeches of the InTheNameOfTheMoon style and was all fired up to Defeat Evil! Save the Helpless! and Speak In Capital Letters With Exclamation Points! And her father, Crown Prince Philionel of Saillune, was much the same. *shudder*
** Amelia's actually calmed down quite a bit by the time Slayers TRY comes around as she's had time to also mature (considering her canon age is only 14 or 15 in the first series), to the point where she almost has her embarrassed moments with her ''own father'' being so Hot Blooded. Her hot blood can be justified in that she has had no mother figure in her life with only her father to raise her. So it's less hot blooded by nature and more hot blooded by nurture?
* Black☆Star from ''Manga/SoulEater'' lives on this trope, brandishing it at almost every opportunity he gets.
** Maka's not far behind.
* ''Anime/SuperAtragon'' features Go Arasaka, who gets into a fight inside a helicopter, nearly punches the ''Ra'''s captain (his father) and impulsively steals a DieselPunk seaplane to go rescue his girlfriend. All this while hamming up his lines, especially when impulsively going to rescue his girlfriend in the seaplane he jacked from the ''Ra''.
* Anime/{{Symphogear}} has Hibiki Tachibana, who's easily the most HotBlooded character Creator/AoiYuuki has ever voiced. Some examples:
** '''''SYMPHOGEEEEAAARRR'''''
** '''''[[CallingYourAttacks SYNCHROGAZER]]'''''
** '''''GEKISOU, GUNGNIR-DA!'''''
** '''''[[EleventhHourSuperPower X]]-[[PowerGivesYouWings DRIVVVVVEEEE!!!!]]'''''
** '''''[[GoldenSuperMode ORA,]] [[EleventhHourSuperPower ORA]] [[ShoutOut ORA ORA]] [[Manga/JojosBizarreAdventure ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA]]''''' (The latter was even confirmed to have been adlibbed by her)
** Taken to its absolute Zenith in the fifth season. [[spoiler: Where she has to attack and destory Vanessa, currently possessed by [[GreaterScopeVillain Shem-ha]] in order to prevent the negation of the Curse of Balal. She screams and then runs at Vanessa, yelling out with all her might her Tranformation phrase Mid Run to punch striaght through Vanessa. [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenlagann Simon]] would be both dumbfounded and proud.]]
---> '''Hibiki:''' '''[[SkywardScream AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH]]!''' '''[[SerialEscalation BALLLWIISSYALLL]]''' '''NESSSSCELLL''' '''''[[InTheNameOfTheMoon GUNNNNGGGGNIIRRR TRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNN!!!!!]]'''''
* The main character of the upcoming ''Anime/{{TAILENDERS}}'' is a race car driver so hot-blooded that his ''heart'' is the engine running the machine. As in, a race car engine. Now that's what I call HotBlooded. He is in fact so hot-blooded that when [[spoiler:Tomoe kisses him, her lips actually get burnt and leaves permanent scars]].
* ''VisualNovel/TheyAreMyNobleMasters'' is a show about... butlers. Doesn't sound like a subject to inspire hot-bloodedness, right? One is voiced by Creator/NobuyukiHiyama. Another, who is also the main character, is voiced by Creator/TomokazuSeki. A third, the main character's tough-as-nails ex-mercenary mentor, has the voice of [[Anime/MobileFighterGGundam Master Asia]]. [[YourHeadAsplode Your head may now asplode]].
** No, no, not until you actually get to ''see'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjTCmzVNYdM the end result]]. Your scheduled head-explody may now re-commence.
* Kotetsu T. Kaburagi, aka Wild Tiger of ''Anime/TigerAndBunny'', is extremely passionate about saving lives as a superhero. Passionate enough that [[DestructiveSavior he tends to ignore things like property rights and damages.]] It's even the [[http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110816155543/tigerbunny/images/7/7f/TIGER_%26_BUNNY_-_01_-_Large_24.jpg highest stat on his trading card.]]
-->'''Kotetsu:''' The most important thing for a hero to do is protect the people! Destroy buildings if you have to!
%%* ''Webcomic/TowerOfGod'': [[GuileHero Ja Wangnan]] and [[TheBigGuy Rak Wraithraiser]].
* Megane from the anime version of ''Manga/UruseiYatsura''. In one memorable scene from episode 64, he runs up the wall, breaks through the ceiling, and stands on the roof shouting into a megaphone. Even more evident by the fact that he’s voiced by Creator/ShigeruChiba.
* Oboro in ''VideoGame/{{Utawarerumono}}'' is like this, and has his base element as fire. The rest of the cast does not approve, because despite his best intentions he tends to slide into [[LeeroyJenkins another trope]] if left to his own devices. By the end of the story, he's become mature enough to realize how immature he is [[spoiler:and leaves the empire in the control of Benawi while he takes Yuzuha's baby to see the world.]]
* In some ways ''Manga/VinlandSaga'' is a deconstruction of the hot blooded Shonen hero. Nearly every character is a ScreamingWarrior, and badass to boot, but it's the cool headed ones that are the truly dangerous fighters.
** Unless the HotBlooded person is Thorkel], then all bets are off.
* Sachie from ''Manga/WildOnes'' has this in spades whenever she gets riled up.
* Ken of ''Anime/YakitateJapan'': not only is he filled with passion, but he also built up his arm muscles so that the increased circulation would warm his hands, creating an effect similar to Solar Hands.
** Kuroyanagi is very, very passionate about [[SeriousBusiness bread judging and the goofy, over-the-top reactions that tend to transpire as a result]].
* Judai Yuuki (a.k.a [[DubNameChange Jaden]]) of ''Anime/YuGiOhGX''. More than once in the series, Judai actually tries to use his brains for playing... and loses horribly as a consequence! But god help those who face him when he plays with his heart!
** He's but one member of a [[Anime/YuGiOh long]] [[Anime/YuGiOh5Ds pedigree]] of HotBlooded [[Anime/YuGiOhZeXal main characters]]. Formermost had Katsuya Jounouchi who uses this approach to TakeALevelInBadass over the course of the series, Lattermost has the IdiotHero Tsukumo Yuuma with his LeeroyJenkins approach, and lastly, we have Jack Atlas and his (And I quote) '''BUUUURRRRNNNIINNNG SOOOOOUUUL!!!'''
*** Jack is so hot-blooded that when confronted with Scar-Red Nova (Red Nova in the English), an Earthbound Immortal more powerful than any other to date, he forcibly steals its power and seals it into a card that spontaneously appears in his hand, thereby creating his new ace monster (Scar-)Red Nova Dragon, by the sheer force of his own hot-blooded awesomeness. I reiterate: He stole an all-powerful demon's power and created a new card for himself out of sheer hot-blooded awesomeness.
--> '''Quote on the 5Ds page:''' [[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu Did you just make Cthulhu your bitch?!]]
* ''Manga/YuYuHakusho'' is filled with hot blooded characters. Yusuke (mostly if you threaten his friends) and Kuwabara (if you threaten Yukina, [[PowerOfLove he will beat you up]]) are two of the most prominent, but Hiei and Kurama (though he's more of a BewareTheNiceOnes kind of guy) have their moments too.
* Several of the protagonists of ''Manga/DrStone'' get incredibly worked up about their scientific endeavors, but special mention goes to CoolOldGuy Kaiseki, who has a [[RunningGag tendency]] to flex so hard that his clothes explode off whenever he gets to work on a new project.
* In ''Manga/Zom100BucketListOfTheDead'', Akira is incredibly passionate about trying new things and completing his bucket list, getting unreasonably excited over something as simple as trying dreadlocks. He gets even more worked up when it comes to making up for lost time with his parents, volunteering to help with anything and everything to be a better son to them.
