-->-- '''Severus Snape''' to '''Sirius Black''' and '''Remus Lupin''', ''Film/HarryPotterAndThePrisonerOfAzkaban''

HoYay in ''Literature/HarryPotter''.
----
* Remus Lupin and Sirius Black.
** In the third book, Remus is ''very'' quick to believe Sirius's innocence -- even though the truth just transfers the responsibility for multiple murders ''and'' Lily's and James's betrayal and subsequent deaths from one former friend to another, he abandons suspicion for Sirius almost immediately and hugs him instead.
** Similarly, the controlled, stoic Remus is noticeably touchy on the subject of Sirius and clearly doesn't want him to receive the Dementor's Kiss... which isn't so strange until you compare his later willingness to hand Peter over to the Dementors, or straight-up murder him (in front of three children, no less) for the same crimes. Even with the Dementor's Kiss viewed as a FateWorseThanDeath, there's a dissonance here.
** Twice in the Shrieking Shack scene, they exchange the same words:
--->"Together?"\
"I think so."
** Remus looks at Sirius ''a lot''.
** Sirius and Lupin are known to have lived together from the end of ''Goblet of Fire'' until the end of ''Order of the Phoenix'', and they give Harry a shared Christmas present (generally something done by couples). [[note]] Although this [[FridgeBrilliance makes more sense]] when one considers the state of Lupin's finances and that Sirius is still a outlaw. [[/note]]

** Towards the beginning of the film version of ''Order of the Phoenix'', in the first scene in 12 Grimmauld Place, there's a shot where Sirius just so happens to be sitting in front of a map, which Lupin just so happens to be reading over the top of Sirius's head. The result is a little like spooning.
** The film version of ''Film/HarryPotterAndThePrisonerOfAzkaban'' adds even more romantic undertones to their relationship. For instance, Snape makes fun of them for "quarreling {{like an old married couple}}". And then there's the CooldownHug complete with a very emotional monologue that Sirius tries to use to stop Remus's werewolf transformation.
* Harry and Ron.
** While their chemistry becomes more apparent when they reach their teenage/young adult years, teasing for a gay couple in these two actually dates back as early as ''[[Film/HarryPotterAndThePhilosophersStone Sorcerer's Stone]]'' as children. Ron is the first wizard he meets in his age group during the train trip to Hogwarts. He asked Harry if he could sit in his cabin, which the boy who lived politely accepted. As soon as Harry first utters his name to him, Ron starts fanboying over him. Both young wizards decide to bond with each other with snacks provided by the train staff. While they're obviously too young back then to be considered to have any form of a homosexual relationship and would likely be glossed over by most other characters InUniverse, it's apparent to long-time Harry Potter fans that even as far back as their elementary years, these two felt a close bond with each other.
** Their fight in the Goblet of Fire resembled a lovers' spat.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iprlDliJFvY The Soup]] completely backs you up on this.
** Previously in ''Chamber of Secrets'': "...[Harry] contended himself with scrawling a note to Ron: ''Let's do it tonight''. Ron read the message, swallowed hard, and looked sideways at the empty seat usually filled by Hermione. The sight seemed to stiffen his [[UnusualEuphemism resolve]], and he nodded."
** ''Goblet of Fire'' also gave us the chapter where the Triwizard contestants had to rescue "the thing they would miss the most" from the bottom of the lake. For Harry, it's Ron. Dobby goes all ShipperOnDeck by demanding Harry rescue "his [[PorkyPigPronunciation Wheezy]]."
*** It was even more explicit in some translations of ''Goblet of Fire'' which were more or less loose in order to maintain a rhyming scheme: in the German version, the contestants are tasked to rescue the thing they "deeply long for", and in the Malay version it is actually the thing they "''love''" the most.
** Harry asks Ron to go away with him before the wedding in TDH Part One.
** Later on, Ron pulls a shirtless Harry from the lake before their SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments.
** Ron helps Harry get dressed after he breaks his arm in ''Chamber of Secrets''. Granted, they're twelve in this book, and there was nothing about getting ''undressed''.
** During the Yule Ball in ''Goblet of Fire'', Harry and Ron go out into the grounds to see several bushes being used by couples as a MakeOutPoint. They themselves then hide in the bushes so Hagrid doesn't overhear him talking to Madame Maxime about their shared giant heritage. After Hagrid and Maxime leave, Snape comes along reprimanding the students kissing in the bushes, he then comes across Harry and Ron and looks very confused.
** Ron spends most nights in ''Order of the Phoenix'' taking care of Harry -- watching over him, waking him up when he's screaming from nightmarish visions, talking to him, and calming him down afterwards...
* Harry and Tom Riddle: The series is told in third-person limited narration from Harry's perspective, so it can be argued that the narration describing the... positive physical attributes... of Tom Riddle (whom the narrative calls "handsome" seven times) seems to cause this.
* Harry and Cedric's interactions in book four (mostly construed as them just being good sports, but people use it for shipping anyway).
** When Dudley says to Harry "Who's Cedric, your boyfriend?", Harry doesn't actually deny it... and Dudley only knows about Cedric because Harry was saying his name in his sleep (of course that could just be that on/off PTSD of his...).
** Harry and Cedric are good sports to each other and they also share quite a few smiles and brief gazes. He is scandalized on Cedric's behalf when Moaning Myrtle hints she might’ve spied on Cedric when he was in the bath. Harry is also (understandably so) traumatized when [[spoiler: Cedric is killed by Wormtail and pissed in the movie when Voldemort steps on Cedric's face]].
* When Viktor Krum first showed up at Hogwarts, Ron gets jealous that Malfoy gets to speak to him before Ron can. It should also be noted that he wanted Krum’s autograph which is parallel to how some six-year girls made a fuss over wanting his autograph as well. He also kept a miniature version of Krum by his bedside for a time. He even said he wanted Viktor to sleep in his room.
-->"We could offer him a space in our dormitory, Harry... I wouldn't mind giving him my bed, I could kip on a camp-bed."
** The movie takes it a humorous step further in one scene, wherein Ron is gushing over how awesome Krum is. Ginny walks by and [[LittleMissSnarker jokingly comments]] "I think you're in love, Ron."
* In the chapter "The Unbreakable Vow" in HBP, the Malay version states that Harry is surprised to hear Draco talking rudely to Professor Snape, who is usually 'dihormatinya malah disayangi', which literally translates to 'respected, even ''[[NoYay loved]]'' by him'.
* Colin Creevey's fanboy crush on Harry.
* Harry's massive crush on the Half-Blood Prince.
-->'''Ron:''' Yeah you do. You read a chapter every day before you go to bed - all you do is read that bloody book!
** That's not counting Ron sounding ''jealous''.
** And the fact that Harry's boy-crush is, by extension, on [[spoiler: Snape, as he is the "[[NoYay Half-Blood Prince]]"]].
* James's and Lily's Patronuses were a stag and a doe. So this must mean that two people with those Patronuses are romantically compatible. This hasn't gone unnoticed, as there's quite a bit of fanart showing Snape and Harry reacting to the... interactions between their Patronuses.
* Barty Crouch Jr. definitely seems to idolise Voldemort a bit too much. It's taken to the extreme in the film adaptation of Goblet of Fire when he actually wipes the blood off Harry's arm, saying that his blood now runs within the Dark Lord before [[{{Squick}} licking it off his finger]].
** Having been played by Creator/DavidTennant, his performance in that scene is frequently described as "eager", to put it mildly.
** "[[DoubleEntendre I'll show you mine if you show me yours.]]"
** In the book, Sirius implies it's related to Junior's lack of relationship with his blood father.
* Voldemort and Draco's bizarre hug in ''The Deathly Hallows'' Part Two.
* Snape's desire to look into Harry's eyes is suggestive, as [[http://slinkers.deviantart.com/gallery/217757?offset=24#/d13laoi this comic]] illustrates. [[spoiler: Canonically, it's because Harry inherited those eyes from Lily, the only person Snape truly loved.]]
** It was probably unintentional but Snape's actions in Order of Phoenix stand out. The way he holds Harry's hand and forcefully takes him to the dungeon, and after that delivers the line "In these lessons, [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything I'll attempt to penetrate, and you will attempt to resist]]." [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFEHxJqPrC0 Out of context]], it's even worse.
* Lupin acts unfalteringly cheerful toward Snape no matter how negatively Snape responds to his presence in ''Prisoner of Azkaban''; it's clear he was trying to make amends for their school days, but it is constant. On the other side, Snape does try to kill a Death Eater who was aiming at Lupin.
* Ginny Weasley is all but stated to have been Luna Lovegood's only friend at Hogwarts for years. And during the DA meeting in ''Deathly Hallows'', the pair of them share an armchair.
* Neville and Harry with Neville doing a SecurityCling to Harry in book one.
* In ''Goblet of Fire'', Percy idolizes Barty Crouch and is very defensive of him. In fact, he is so fond of him that Ron jokes that they will soon announce their engagement to each other.
* Draco and Harry's... preoccupation with each other. After being rejected by him, Draco spends their [[Literature/HarryPotterAndThePhilosophersStone first year]] trying to thwart Harry, and apparently complained about him through the entire summer break, and in their [[Literature/HarryPotterAndTheChamberOfSecrets second year]], he's so busy teasing Harry that he completely misses the Snitch and loses his first game. Moreover, he's always doing things to get his attention in the Great Hall even though the Slytherin and Gryffindor tables are on opposite sides and have the two other houses between them.
** Harry is no better, his eyes always straying towards the Slytherin table and seeing everything Draco does, from the sweets Draco receives from his mother, his reactions to events, speaking animatedly to fellow housemates, etc. It escalates later, with Harry becoming fixated on Draco and his activities, with this quote from the books to nail it in: "Harry, however, had never been less interested in Quidditch; he was rapidly becoming obsessed with Draco Malfoy."
** Even Pottermore notices how obsessed they are with each other.
** Harry insults nearly every Slytherin student's looks... Except for Draco. This goes all the way to the first book with Draco being described as having "glittering eyes", "shiny hair", and Harry noticing the specific way he blushes, keeps mentioning his facial features, voice, skin, etc. all throughout the books.
** They save each other throughout the last book, not something you do for your archenemy.
** They had a wand fight in the bathroom... Yep.
** Hermione's wand worked for Harry but didn't feel totally compatible, while Narcissa's wand didn't "understand" Draco (even though she is his mother). Draco's wand, on the other hand, felt "friendly" to Harry.
** This quote from book 2:
--->'''Draco:''' Everyone thinks he's so ''smart'', wonderful ''Potter'' with his scar and his broomstick-\
'''Lucius:''' You have told me this at least a dozen times already.
** This quote from book 6:
--->'''Harry:''' Can you think of any way Malfoy–?\
'''Ron:''' Oh, drop it, Harry.
* Voldemort/Harry, Tom Riddle/Harry.
** "[[AccidentalInnuendo I CAN TOUCH YOOOOOOU.]]"
** When enemies get [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yp5IggAXBa4&feature=channel this close (starts at 1:34)]], alarms start ringing.
** Note that in ''Half-Blood Prince'', Harry thought of Tom Riddle as handsome ''seven times''. Dumbledore, by contrast, only referred to Riddle as handsome once. By the transitive property of Foe Yay, [[InsaneTrollLogic that makes Harry seven times gayer]]. Except that we're not in Dumbledore's head, of course.
** And if Tom seems to have vague echoes of Grindelwald about him...
** And Harry also thinks of Grindelwald as handsome multiple times.
* Hermione/Bellatrix shippers would often do a non-canonical reinterpretation of the knife scene in book 7, often with StockholmSyndrome and RomanticizedAbuse.
* Seamus Finnigan and Dean Thomas fall under this trope as well, rarely ever being apart when they're mentioned and Seamus running to hug Dean when he sees him for the first time in months in the final book. Even their actors support it.
