----
* Buzz in his first scene (discounting his video-game counterpart) is being a CoolBigBro to Rex. Rex is lamenting that he lost to Zurg ''yet again'' on the screen, and Buzz tells the dinosaur that he's a good Buzz, better than the toy.
* When Woody's arm is ripped and he gets shelved before Andy goes to Cowboy Camp without him, Mr. Potato Head explains the situation to Rex with genuine concern in his voice, a [[TookALevelInKindness far cry]] from the bitter {{Jerkass}} that he was in the first movie.
** When Al steals Woody, Mr. Potato Head even says "Get him Buzz!" supportively as Buzz gives chase.
* The entire plot was pivoted by Woody's desperation to save Wheezy, a fellow broken toy, from being thrown into a yard sale.
* Andy's mother is adamant on Al not buying Woody despite his persistence as she knows how much he means to Andy and isn’t going to let someone buy him that easily.
* The moment that Woody discovers why, exactly, he matters so much not just to Al, but also to Bullseye, Jessie, and, even, on a deeper level, Stinky Pete. The exact moment the curtains are pulled back to reveal every single piece of merchandise from the ''Woody's Roundup'' days, coupled together with the slow, dramatic pan and the light that just seems to ''glow'' off of Woody's broadening, child-like grin is just plain adorable and tearjerking.
* After Woody was kidnapped by Al, Buzz without hesitation is ready to pull together a rescue mission for him. He remembers seeing the car's license plate and tries to type it into a machine to figure out the meaning, not giving up until his EurekaMoment that the guy is Al from Al's toy barn.
-->"Woody once risked his life to save me. I couldn't call myself his friend if I weren't willing to do the same. Now who's with me?"
** Buzz himself is a tiny plastic SugarWiki/{{Heartwarming Moment|s}}, through all four films.
* And also this scene, when the rescue team is exhausted:
--> '''Buzz''': Come on, fellas. Did Woody give up when Sid had me strapped to a rocket?\
'''Rex, Hamm, Mr. Potato Head, Slinky Dog''': No.\
'''Buzz''': No. And did he give up when you threw him out of the back of that moving van?\
'''Mr. Potato Head''': [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone Oh, you had to bring]] ''[[GoodAllAlong that]]'' [[MistakenForMurderer up!]]\
'''Buzz''': [[RousingSpeech No, he didn't! We have a friend in need, and we will not rest until he's safe in Andy's room! Now, let's move out!]]
** That also shows that the toys still feel bad for how easily they turned against Woody (especially Mr. Potato Head, as he led the "mutiny", and thus, feels the worst), even though Woody obviously forgave them.
* Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head are very sweet together.
** Mr. Potato Head reminds himself of Mrs. Potato Head when the Barbies show up. While played for comedy, it's good to know she's important to him.
* When the toy restorer comes to fix Woody, he treats Woody like an actual customer. He fixes a bib around the cowboy's shoulders, rests his hat on a tiny stand, and even polishes his boots. It's slightly marred by him painting over Andy's signature and the fact that he's getting paid, but you have to admit the man shows more care for Woody than Al does. Also, he had no way of knowing that Woody still belonged to Andy aside from the signature which very easily could have been from an owner he had from a long time ago.
--> You can't rush art!
** Given he had no way of knowing anything was amiss about how Al came by this relic of the past makes it even even more heartwarming. An elderly gentleman that just plain enjoys restoring old toys.
** WordOfGod, however, states that he took the job for free, just because he considered restoring a toy like Woody ''that'' high an honor.
* Woody and Buzz talk to each other about the fear of eventually being forgotten by Andy someday.
-->'''Buzz''': You still worried?\
'''Woody''': About Andy? Nah, it will be fun while it lasts.\
'''Buzz''': I'm proud of you, cowboy.\
'''Woody''': Besides, when it all ends, [[ThePowerOfFriendship I'll have ol' Buzz Lightyear to keep me company.]] [[BorrowedCatchphrase For infinity and beyond.]]
* Say what you will about "You've Got a Friend in Me", but "[[AwardBaitSong When She Loved Me]]" deserves to be on this page. That is the strong bond that Emily and Jessie had, brief as it was.
** It helps that the montage that went with it was almost identical in style to the "Strange Things" montage from the first one -- watching Jessie's toys and merchandise fading into other things. And even though it ended in a sad way, Woody began to understand Jessie better, which is also quite heartwarming.
* More cute than Heartwarming, seeing Woody, Jessie, and Bull's Eye reenacting scenes from ''Woody's Roundup'', then switch to having Jessie and Bullseye [[FriendlyTickleTorture gang up and tickle]] Woody is pretty sweet.
* Some may call this a slightly skewed version, but there's the scene with Zurg and Utility Belt Buzz playing catch as father and son.
* One of the things that made Woody decide to go to Tokyo was learning that if he left Jessie and Bullseye would go back to storage. He ultimately decides to take them both with him.
** What makes this more heartwarming is where Woody looks at Jessie, who then looks at Woody. There was no words between the two, just only Jessie turning from bitter to happy as she realizes that Woody has decided to stay with them and not with Andy, thus signaling that the two finally made up for their short falling out earlier.
** Despite Woody's contention with the others over wanting to go back to Andy, Bullseye still remained loyal and affectionate around Woody despite his clear disappointment. He even tried to help Woody get his arm back from Al.
--->'''Woody:''' Come on, you don't wanna help me. I'm the bad guy. You're going to go back in storage because of me, remember? Now just go! ''[Bullseye wags his tail and happily licks Woody]''
** Throughout the movie, Bullseye seems the one toy desiring to have Woody stay as a friend rather than just to maintain their future exhibition at the museum. When Woody tries to convince them to join him as Andy's toys, while Jessie is conflicted and Stinky Pete snaps and resorts to force to keep their destination on track, Bullseye ''instantly'' agrees.
* Look how Buzz ([[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments and other Buzz]]) instantly springs to life the moment Woody changes his mind about staying and calls him back. Buzz isn't even skeptical after Woody doubles back without saying it's to convince the others to come with them.
-->'''Buzz:''' Way to go, cowboy! ''[the other toys run back cheering]''
** This line from Woody just beforehand:
--->'''Woody:''' You're right, Prospector, I ''can't'' stop Andy from growing up. But I wouldn't miss it for the world!
* [[TwinSwitch After the group mistake him for their own Buzz]], the Utility Belt Buzz doesn't hesitate at all to join them on their mission. He's never met Woody and has barely any idea what's actually going on, but this other Buzz is just as determined to rescue him.
** Even after the real Buzz rejoins the group and clears up the confusion, the Utility Belt Buzz still remains invested in the rescue until Zurg draws his attention away. He's even shown trying to pry the screw loose on the grate after Stinky Pete locks it.
* Mr. Potato Head saves the [=LGMs=] from falling out of a moving vehicle. They immediately tell him that he has saved their lives and that they are eternally grateful. Near the end of the film, Mrs. Potato Head decides to adopt them.
** And when he does save them and they thank him, all three pick up his fallen ear at once and hand it right back to him. That's just too cute.
* The scene where Woody rescues Jessie from the flight; she's by this point the only one of the four toys remaining in the box to still be trapped in there, and by the time he comes across her she's curled up in the fetal position in the middle of a panic attack:
-->'''Woody''': Excuse me, ma'am, I do believe you're on the wrong flight.\
'''Jessie''': Woody! ''[she hugs him]''\
'''Woody''': Come on, Jessie. It's time to take you home.\
'''Jessie''': But... what if Andy doesn't ''like'' me?\
'''Woody''': Nonsense, Andy'll ''love'' you! Besides -- he's got a little sister...\
'''Jessie''': He ''does''?! ''Why didn't you say so? Let's go!''
* Andy fixing Woody's arm at the end, especially after Woody was worried that he'd be abandoned because of the broken arm. Andy also reveals that the only reason he didn't take Woody to camp was that he was afraid that the entire arm might come off, which it did when Woody was at Al's apartment.
-->'''Woody:''' Well, whaddya know...
* Buster's EstablishingCharacterMoment. At first it sounds as though he is TheDreaded, causing everyone to hide. When Buster does show up he does trash the room a bit and grabs Woody. Just when we think that he is gonna pull a [[WesternAnimation/ToyStory1 Scud]] on him, he instead licks Woody affectionately, causing Woody to unfreeze and laugh, having taught him tricks and even rubs his belly happily while baby talking to him. He even timed how long it took Buster to find him, implying this wasn't the first time they played hide and seek. This shows that much like Andy is to Sid, Buster is the good counterpart to Scud.
** Later, when Wheezy is taken down to the yard sale, Woody whistles for Buster, causing the dog to instantly come running. He allows Woody to ride him down, helping him bring Wheezy back to Andy's bedroom, making you wonder if this has happened more than once.
* When Stinky Pete stops Woody from leaving, Jessie protests that "this isn't fair" despite the fact that she's still unsure about going with him. While she might not necessarily accept the idea of Woody leaving, it does suggest that she's grown to respect his wishes.
* When Stinky Pete mockingly tells Woody that "[[MaliciousMisnaming Buzz Lightweight]]" isn't going to save him now, Woody's response as he tugs on the vent? "''[[HeartwarmingInHindsight His name is Buzz Light]]'''[[HeartwarmingInHindsight year]]'''[[HeartwarmingInHindsight !]]''"
** Likewise, when Stinky Pete punches Buzz off of the conveyor belt after he opens Al's case, [[ItsPersonal Woody goes ballistic]]:
--->'''Woody''': HEY! (grabs Stinky Pete by the lapels) ''NO ONE DOES THAT TO '''MY FRIEND!''''' (tackles Stinky Pete out of the case)
* The scene where Stinky Pete ends up with that girl from the airport is seen as funny karma for his actions but it is also heartwarming when you think about it:
** Earlier in the film, he lamented how he had to sit on a shelf for years as he saw every other toy beside himself get an owner. Now he finally has an owner to love him and play with him. When the girl sees him, she's ''delighted'', and seems eager to have fun with him.
** The girl's Barbie seems happy to meet him, and brightly says that he'll really like the kid. It's quite possible that after he gets over the shock (and the makeovers), they might be able to become friends.
** Supplementary materials confirm that Pete cares for his new owner and even enjoys being made up now, meaning he found his own happiness at last.
* At the end, Jessie, Bullseye, and the [=LGM=]s have been accepted into the fold literally overnight, with Jessie and Bullseye already having Andy's name on their feet. After all the angst Jessie went through over being abandoned by an owner she loved, and then locked in essentially solitary confinement for an untold number of years, she finally has a warm loving home with a proper owner. Bonus points in that when Andy comes home, he immediately starts playing with Jessie and Bullseye first, proving Woody's reassurance that Andy would love her.
** Plus, she also got herself an admirer in Buzz, whom she calls "the sweetest space toy she ever met".
* It's also probably [[MeaningfulBackgroundEvent not a coincidence]] that the toy car she unhesitatingly uses in performing Buzz's old trick is the exact same car Emily drove when she donated her.
* Pay close attention to Utility Belt Buzz after Stinky Pete locks the vent. Despite having only just met Woody, he frantically tries unscrewing the vent to save him.
* The ''Woody's Roundup'' sequence with Woody singing, of all things, "You've Got A Friend In Me". During the number it's revealed that young audiences were actually allowed on the set and a boy (who bares more than a small likeness to Andy) comes onscreen and is even allowed to hug Woody as he sings. Seeing even the original puppet he was based on was allowed to play with and get affection from kids galvanizes Woody to change his mind and return to Andy.
