* Finn Family Moomintroll:
** During a game of hide-and-seek, Moomintroll hides in the Hobgoblin's hat, unaware of its magical powers. The hat completely changes his appearance; his friends don't recognize him, and beat him up when he jokingly insults himself. When Moominmamma stops the fight, Moomintroll pleads with her: "Look carefully at me, mother. You must know your own Moomintroll." She looks at him and quietly says: "Yes, you are my Moomintroll." And at this moment, he regains his normal shape.
---> "It's all right now, my dear," said Moominmamma. "You see, I shall always know you whatever happens."
** When Snufkin leaves, Moomintroll is left crying at his best friend's departure. Thingumy and Bob try to cheer him up by showing him their treasure, the King's Ruby, which helps somewhat, but doesn't fill the void Moomintroll feels at Snufkin's absence. Later on, when the Hobgoblin is granting people's wishes, Moominmamma finally comes up with the perfect wish: she wishes for Moomintroll to no longer miss Snufkin. This causes Moomintroll to no longer feel any sadness, only pleasant anticipation of their next meeting. Moomintroll then wishes for a table covered in food to fly to Snufkin, wherever he may be.
* Moominsummer Madness:
** Snufkin briefly becomes the caretaker of twenty-four orphans after he's saved them from a rule-obsessed Park Keeper. While they give him a lot of grief, there is a pretty touching moment when the children (at the prompting of Little My) present him with a gift: A home-made tobacco pouch, filled with "raspberry leaves to smoke on Sundays." He takes it as the kind gesture it is and thanks them warmly.
** At the end of the book, Moomin finds Snufkin fishing and smoking by the river, and notices that the tobacco smoke smells differently than usual:
--->Moomin: Have you changed to a new brand? Reminds me of raspberry leaves. Is it good?\
Snufkin: No. But I smoke it only on Sundays.
** The Fillyjonk is deeply depressed because her uncle and his wife have failed to come celebrate Midsummer with her, just like every other year. She explains that she doesn't even especially like her uncle and his wife, but she feels like she has to invite them since they're family. Moonintroll and the Snork Maiden gently explain to her that if she doesn't like her relatives, and her relatives don't like her, it's perfectly okay to not try to spend time with them. The Fillyjonk reacts to this concept like the weight of the world has been lifted from her shoulders, and the three of them proceed to celebrate "the first happy Midsummer [the Fillyjonk has] ever had."
* Moominland Midwinter:
** Jansson wrote Moominland Midwinter shortly after meeting Tuulikki Pietilä, the real-life model for Too-Ticky, with whom she would spend the rest of her life. The whole book, the story of Moomintroll discovering a new world and learning to be calm and accepting of it, is basically one long love-letter to her.
** The blustery, winter-sports-loving Hemulen ends up adopting the miserable dog Sorry-oo.
* Tales from Moominvalley:
** "The Hemulen who Loved Silence": As the title of the story states, the titular Hemulen wants peace and quiet, but works in an amusement park, selling tickets for kids. When the park gets destroyed, he gets an old garden as his retirement bonus. He loves it... but the kids start to come there and ask whether they can play. He agrees.
** The Invisible Child:
*** The Moomin family agrees to take care of Ninny, a girl who'd been abused to the point where she turned invisible, and slowly help her gain more confidence in herself. They treat her well, particularly Mooninmamma, who goes out of her way to make her new clothes, to the point that Ninny defends Momminmamma when Moominpappa was going to prank her.
* Moominpappa at Sea:
** The sub-plot with Moomintroll and the Groke ends up as one of the most touching part of the series. While characters -- most notably Too-Ticky -- have expressed sympathy for the Groke before, it's Moomin who (almost accidentally, and mostly because he's really hoping to meet the pretty sea-horse again) ends up thawing her out just by starting to care about her.
** The same subplot also has some nice friendship moments between Moomin and the otherwise abrasive Little My, who's ended up as a sort of SecretKeeper when it comes to his confusing friendship with the Groke (and who covers for him on a couple of occasions).
--->Little My: How did you get her warm? I went out during the night and the sand wasn't frozen at all! \
Moomin: I don't know. You won't tell, will you?\
Little My: What sort of tattletale do you take me for?

!! Moomin / Shin Moomin (1969/72)
* The fourth episode of the '72 series involves Snufkin returning to the valley, after leaving for winter at the end of the previous series. He spends the whole time skulking around in the shadows, secretly providing Moomin with food, and finishing his chores for him. At the end they finally reunite, with Moomin hearing his guitar and rushing over to give his friend a hug and a nuzzle.

* In episode 38, "Curse of the Red Moon", the townsfolk believe Snufkin is harbouring a dangerous vampire, which in actuality is an regular old injured bat. Not wanting the bat to be harmed, Snufkin decides to leave the valley with it. Moomin literally throws himself down a mountain to meet Snufkin at the path, and afterwards lets it bite his finger to prove it isn't a vampire. Snufkin calls him one of a kind before bandaging him up, and even sheds a single tear at Moomin's loyalty.
** Earlier in the episode, when Moomin reacts in alarm to seeing the creature in Snufkin's tent, he calmly explains that it's just a baby bat and asks, "isn't it cute, Moomin?"

!! Moominvalley (2019)

* Moominpappa puts on a play inspired by his memoirs, with Moomintroll cast as his younger self. After his performance goes awry as a result of Little My trying to deflate his ego, Moomintroll admits backstage that he'll never be able to match up to his father's stories, because "he's him, and I'm just...IJustWantToBeBadass me". Snufkin's response is the page quote.
* The way Hobgoblin's plot is resolved in this series. In the book, the King's Ruby is duplicated by a wish and the Hobgoblin gets the duplicate, fulfilling his desire. Here, the ruby is accidentally destroyed by Sniff, and the Hobgoblin is eventually talked down. He admits that his desire for the ruby was ultimately meaningless and that he simply gets these weird obsessions from time to time.
** The way he punishes Sniff for destroying the ruby also qualifies -- he instills empathy in him, allowing the selfish creature to see the world from other people's perspective for the first time ever. Leading to Sniff to create several more CMOH when he interacts with other characters.
* Snorkmaiden in general is very heartwarming in this series -- most of the time -- but her speech to Moomintroll at the end of "Farewell, Snorkmaiden" where she explains that neither of them is ready to settle down is probably the best:
-->Moomintroll: Just say the word and I'll stay.\
Snorkmaiden: Oh, my Moomintroll. It's not our time yet, my sweet. We have our own adventures to make first. The rest of the world is out there waiting for us. And we can't keep each other from it. Not yet. You have to let go now.\
Moomintroll: Because, even though I love you, I have to set you free?\
Snorkmaiden: No, because you're hurting my paw again.\
Moomintroll: Oh! Sorry. (lets go of her hands)
* Moominpappa in "Brisk and Breezy" revealing to Little My that he loves her, after she had spent most of the episode worrying that he doesn't care for her, and wondering whether Mr. Brisk could be her father. Little My's reaction to his declaration of love is especially adorable.
-->Moominpappa: From the first day you barreled into our lives and hung me from the chandelier, I've been most fond of you. I couldn't bear the thought of never seeing your angry little face again. You're every bit as much a Moomin as I am. And well... I love you!\
