* Upon learning the Flying Squirrel's birthday had passed, Dr. Chronopolis runs to the gift store of the museum they're investigating to get the best gift he could on short notice: a bag of marbles that proves a handy ChekhovsGun.

* When an apparently crazy homeless man tries to enter the Club Macaw while Kit is outside waiting for Fenwick, some of the drivers try to shoo him away, but Kit is kind to him and tries to calm him down.
* After the man gets hit by a car and dies, Kit is feeling down, wondering who his family was and if anyone will care what happened to him, so the Red Panda offers that since crime is slow, they can track down the man's family so at least they'll know.

* Desperate and low on options, the Red Panda recruits Ace Kirby, low-level criminal, from the bad guys he needs to take down. Afterward, he tells the Squirrel to swear Ace in as an agent. Ace makes good on his second chance and is later seen as one of Parker's Rangers. Still later, Gus gives Ace a job when he's having trouble finding work due to his criminal past.

* Anne helps a random stranger who's in trouble at risk to herself.
* Despite not having an episode of watching and getting attached to John like Anne and the listeners, the Red Panda and the Flying Squirrel take a chance to help an amnesiac explosive robot reform for a life in normal society.

* Although the circumstances are less than ideal (self-induced amnesia to protect his secrets from Nazi torturers while running suicide missions behind enemy lines), Gus learning to be August Fenwick and to like his secret identity while fighting with Parker's Rangers is nice.

* The Voodoo woman Marie tells John Doe that he not only has a soul of his own, but another soul is waiting to reunite with him. This inspires John to make sure that, when that reunion comes, he can give a good accounting of himself.

* Both funny and heartwarming. Ace is complaining about sneaking back into Germany after all the effort to sneak out, and he and Gus begin snarking. The Red Panda, while caring about his agents, has always been professional when dealing with them, and August Fenwick, it is implied, doesn't have a lot of close friends due to the awkwardness of secret identities and super heroics and not caring much for the arrogance and shallowness of his fellow class members. As a result, it's nice to see him bantering with friends who don't care about his class rank and respect him for what he can do and brings to the team.
-->Fenwick: Oh to be in Belgium now that springtime is here.\
Ace: It's almost September.\
Fenwick: You're not poetic. That's your problem.\
Ace: You're a brain-damaged lunatic. That's your problem...Sir.\
Fenwick: Technically true.\
Parker: (exasperated) Quiet, you clowns.

* When Andy Parker is told he'll be putting together another commando team, he specifically requests Lieutenant August Fenwick, even though he no longer thinks Gus is the Red Panda and the Major says Lieutenant Fenwick is damaged goods.
--> The Major: [Fenwick] will never be a soldier we can trust in the field.\
Parker: I trust him.

* The Flying Squirrel initially finds it awkward being around the second Molecule Max, due to her friendship with the original, and says the Red Panda feels the same. Max wins them over by sincerely wishing to do right by his mentor's mantle and by being a bit sharper about crime fighting than the other rookies in the episode.

* The Red Panda's adoption of the Burmese Tiger they find in the Nazi lair is heartwarming on its own, and funny thanks to the Red Panda unexpectedly being a FluffyTamer. What is truly heartwarming is a detail that is not obvious to anyone who only listens to the show: the name he gives the tiger, Rashan. Rashan was the name of the man who taught the Red Panda the bulk of his skill in hypnosis, as shown in the book The Mind Master and who gave him the name "Red Panda".

* After the war is done, Harry Kelly returns home and nearly everyone takes notice of the fact he's all grown up now. The men he looked up to as a boy all put him on a FirstNameBasis with them and acknowledge that he played his part same as they all did.

* The Red Panda hesitates to aid the Black Eagle in his battle with Elise Bond. He wants to, but worries that helping the Eagle would undermine the rookie superhero's confidence and cause him to think the Red Panda has no faith in him. He ends up doing so in the end, anyway, and when the Black Eagle finds out he is far from offended. Indeed, he's glad to know his mentors have his back even if they don't want him to know about it.

* Andy Parker and the Red Panda are having a conversation about why Parker enlisted which leads to some nice moments.
** The Red Panda isn't thrilled about Parker enlisting because of what a valuable agent he is.
** Parker explains that the Red Panda is part of his motivation for signing up because he's figured out that whoever he is, he must have resources, which means the Panda gave up a lot to fight crime. Parker also adds that he'd given up years ago trying to find the Panda's secret identity because in Parker's mind, the selfless crimefighter is the Panda's true identity. Seeing how Fenwick doesn't get a lot of respect in his civilian identity (a good part of why he didn't mind wipe Kit is because she saw past that...and didn't try to blackmail him over it), it's nice to see him get this validation from Parker.
** After Parker thanks the Red Panda for how he's pushed Parker to be a better person, the Red Panda thanks Parker, for being a man of character and for reminding the Red Panda of the importance of being human.

* Weston in most scenes in this book, but particular instances include:
** The interview where Weston refuses to gossip about his former employers when Fenwick pushes him, which is precisely the response Fenwick was looking for.
** Later in the interview when Fenwick indirectly asks Weston about his view on Kit (since this was the point of contention with his previous butlers), and Weston makes it clear that, unlike his predecessors, his priority is to protect Kit's reputation and well-being, not get her fired, and even makes a point to ask Fenwick directly about his treatment of Kit.
*** Fenwick making sure that his new butler will treat Kit well and apparently considering doing without a butler rather than hire yet another one who will make life miserable for Kit.
** After Kit's supposed routing of some purse-snatchers (actually attempted kidnappers but was too awkward to explain), Weston mentions that Kit reminds him of his beloved, feisty niece and adds that he's never seen spirit to be a negative trait in a woman.
** And finally, Weston's conversation with Kit on the plane ride home where he resolves the staffing ambiguities of Kit's position to remove any potential friction between him and Kit and the rest of the staff. Weston also offers a shrewd summation of Fenwick, that he puts on a front of distance, which Weston will respect, but is truly a good and fair man.
