* In the first game, if you talk to Mayl before jacking Megaman into the school network:
-->'''Mayl:''' "Don't be too hard on Megaman, he's one of your friends too."
* Lan and Mega Man's relationship is all sorts of this. They might bicker, but they're best friends and downright inseparable. Not even death could keep them apart. It helps that Mega Man came back from the grave ''twice'', though he had the help of his dad both times.
* Any time a villainous Operator or [=NetNavi=] reforms and becomes friends with Lan, or even joins Lan's side in fighting cybercrime in later installments, such as in ''5''.
* At the end of the second game, Lan learns about the hardships of Sean Obihiro, aka the leader of Gospel, and rather than condemn him for his crime, ''offers to be his friend''. This is enough for Sean to turn himself in and pull a full HeelFaceTurn by the events of the next game.
* In the third game, a young kid named Chisao shows up wanting to meet his brother who is the 1# Netbattler in ACDC town...who clearly isn't Lan. Turns out he's Dex's younger brother and he's clearly been fudging his stories to him about his Netbattling career and offers to show off his skills by fighting Lan. You can either [[VideoGameCrueltyPotential beat Dex as usual and shatter Chisao's worldview of his big brother]]...[[VideoGameCaringPotential or throw the match for Dex's sake]] and Chisao will cheer on Dex, happy to see he's just as awesome as he describes.
* In the third game, Mr. Match tricks Lan in helping him set [=SciLab=] on fire by pretending to become a law abiding citizen. Lan is [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone devastated at the results of his actions]] and spends a few days moping. When he confesses to Chaud that the [=SciLab=] attack was partly his fault, Chaud threatens to arrest him if Lan gives out anymore information. That's not the heartwarming part. Chaud then tells Lan to visit his dad in the hospital and states that he never heard Lan's confession to return the favor of Lan helping him save his own dad from Sunyama.
-->'''Chaud:''' "About what you just told me, I never heard it. I owe you that much for what you did for me."
* [=MegaMan.EXE's=] speech right before his HeroicSacrifice at the end of 3. Doubles as a TearJerker.
-->'''[=MegaMan.EXE=]:''' "Lan, these are my final words as Hub Hikari. Lan, you have to go on living and have a future! I will always be with you. I already died once and came back as [=MegaMan.EXE=]. Meeting you, playing with you, fighting with you, everyday that I spent with you was a happy one and finally I have been able to meet you face-to-face. I've never been happier. Lan, you will be able to make so many more people happy! I'm so proud to have had a brother like you. And now I must speak as [=MegaMan=]. Just because I'm gone, don't you skip your homework, and learn how to wake up by yourself! Lan, nothing could replace the days I spent with you. Thank you. Good bye, Lan!"
* Mamoru's scenario in the third game. Especially when [=MegaMan.EXE=] released his energy into the hospital system to restart Mamoru's surgery.
* Wily erasing Regal's memories in ''5'' after seeing how far he's gone off the deep end into destroying the world. While it's obvious [[EvenEvilHasStandards Wily himself was disgusted at Regal's own domination plan]], he chastises not just Regal but ''himself'' for being a horrible father.
* Several sidequests can classify as this and occasionally cross into TearJerker territory in the process. For example, helping a former Net Mafia Navi reunite with his estranged daughter, or assisting a child in stopping his parents from constantly fighting.
** In 3 there's a request on the [=SciLab=] job board from a Netnavi that would like you to check up on his old netop. He tells you he was sold and while he's happy with his current situation still cares for the little girl he thinks sold him off. After a bit of investigation we find out he wasn't sold at all. He was stolen from her. It's a short little story but very bittersweet since you never get to tell her how he's doing.
* The trailer for the game's legacy collection being capped off by a surprise RoleReprise of Creator/AndrewFrancis, who voiced Mega Man in the anime. A massive shout out to those who grew up watching it.
** Adding onto it with the reveal that Mega Man.EXE will be in the game's menus as a navigator of sorts, complete with the voice from the anime incarnation of the character. Ingame, he greets you like a friend and as his operator like old times.
* To promote ''Legacy Collection'', [[https://www.capcom-games.com/megaman/exe/en-us/comics/ a new manga]] drawn by Ryo Takamisaki (the artist behind the original ''Manga/MegaManNTWarrior2001'' manga) takes place during the DistantFinale of ''[[VideoGame/MegaManBattleNetwork6CybeastGregarAndCybeastFalzar 6]]'' where [=MegaMan=] tries to arrange Lan's friends to go to the upcoming Dentech Academy reunion, only for it to cross into TearJerker territory when he keeps getting unsure replies if they'll even get to go there, including Mayl since she has to go watch Patch's (her and Lan's son) [=NetBattle=] tournament on the day of the reunion, hammering in [[GrowingUpSucks how they're no longer]] the BadassAdorable children freely running around together to kick ass. At the reunion however, the party gets crashed by a new generation of viruses, with Lan and [=MegaMan=] eager to tear them down like the old times. Then it's revealed that Lan's friends ''did'' manage to make it after all, with Mayl arriving to be a BattleCouple with Lan while Patch cheers on his parents. It ends with the original gang depicted as their young selves as they're about to delete more viruses like back then.
-->'''Lan and [=MegaMan=]:''' Nothing can keep us apart. Nothing can change the special bond we share. No matter what, we're always connected!
